Mashed potatoes reminded me of boxed potatoes. The chicken n dumplings were good. I was under whelmed with the corn fritters, I was hoping for more of a hushpuppy and flavor. It's basically fried dough. They serve it with maple butter. I am not a fan. The fritter tasted better dipped in the vegetable and corn chowder soup. The soups were good. The corn chowder was better than I expected and had a lot of flavor. It was a mix between gravy and soup. The portion size was generous and we left with Togo boxes. It's located just past the busier part of town, although it was still pretty busy. We were advised that there was a 30-45 minute wait but that we could go get a drink, and upon doing so we wound up being able to order right away at the bar so keep that in mind if you go. I got the pork shoulder which was perfectly smokey and went great with the Mustard sauce, wasn't too fatty at all. The biscuit was just buttery and garlic enough and I even got to try the potato salad, I added a little extra mustard sauce since I'd drink that stuff. Turned out to be pretty terrific! I got the Texan Combo, which was a large platter of ribs, pulled pork, bbq chicken, brisket, and sausage, which were ALL very good (the sausage was really yummy with a little bit of spiciness to it). Fried deviled eggs appetizer was amazing. We both ordered the Sampler that had 5 meats (brisket, pulled pork, jalapeño smoked sausage, chicken quarter, and ribs). This came with a biscuit and 2 sides; I ordered mac n cheese for both sides. Biscuits were FANTASTIC. She got collard greens and loved them! Mac n cheese was average to above average. Now for the less than fantastic. While the taste of the meats were good, seasoned well and smoky, they were dry. Last but not least, pulled pork is usually the most forgiving meat in terms of drying out, but the portions we received were not ideal in terms of moistness. We chose Bennetts and we're not disappointed. We shared a Texas sampler that had a chicken leg and thigh which were moist and tasty , a piece of jalapeño sausage which was a tad overdone but good, some sliced brisket which was moist and cut with a fork, pulled pork which was typical and a rib which was chewy on the first bite but tender in the middle. The food was amazing from start to finish. We loved every bit of it. I got the trio meal which included chicken pot pie, chicken and dumplings and fried chicken. We had a 50min wait with 23 parties ahead of us for a table of 2. Our waiter did the bare minimum, not that we needed a whole bunch but there was just no effort given. We got the fried pickles to start with and they were fantastically fried crispy with a very good dipping sauce. Both drinks, the peach ale 🍺 and my stout were very good. I ordered the brew house burger with braised spinach side and my wife ordered the chicken cheese philly sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. No sign to wait to be seated so someone behind the counter stops you when you try to walk upstairs but not until you actually start going up. It's a delicious time when we do go in but we really have to psych ourselves up to not mind standing in line and then having breakfast in a tightly packed, hustling swarm of a people filled restaurant. I will admit there have been a few times it gives a boost of delight to see all the families enjoying their times together. But if you don't like crowds or cramped places maybe bypass this one! I'm just now leaving a review. My experience here was a great one from what I can recall. Gatlinburg overall was a fun area to explore. It was for my birthday and my fiance and I found this restaurant purely by accident. And it just so happen to be themed after one of my all-time favorite movies! The wait was a little long, but we did go there during peak dinner hours. Which was understandable, and we didn't make a huge fuss out of it. Once we got a table, the service was friendly, courteous, and speedy. The food was fresh and hot on arrival. Our order was accurate and delicious. The restaurant itself had a lot of Forrest Gump references throughout the whole establishment. It was great. I couldn't read enough of everything pinned to the walls and ceiling. Awesome experience. I ordered the brisket & the burnt ends. Brisket was very tender & had a nice crust. I’m a huge fan beef tips in most places, but these hit a bit different with the bacon wrap. I also ordered the smoked baked beens which the waitress forgot to bring so I ended up canceling after a little wait. Not quite sure how this has happened but wow…… Reservations are strongly recommended. We reserved a few weeks back and got a window seat Creekside within the first 10 minutes of being there a black bear came down and walked the creek as seen in the photos in the short video. The salad bar was very heavily variety. I can honestly say that the smoked oysters and anchovies were the freshest I’ve ever had anywhere. The waitress and the staff was very friendly everything including the staff was very clean and in order and organized. The bathrooms are so clean you could eat in them. I ordered a 12 ounce ribeye medium, and the Wife ordered a 14 ounce New York strip medium. Let me tell you and all the reviews I’ve ever done which is very quite extensive over 10 states and probably 150 different restaurants or steakhouses. These are by far the best steaks I have ever eaten. If Gordon Ramsay was eating at the peddler, he would clap. This is a true gem and I cannot wait till next year to come back and revisit it again. PS I am trying to get reservations again before we leave. Fingers crossed. Bravo to the management and staff of the Pedaler truly, this was the most favorite restaurant in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge area.

We very much enjoyed sitting outside as it was just starting to get cool out, there was a fire going in a fire pit and string lights everywhere, so it was definitely a romantic setting for our dinner. Our waiters were fantastic, and I appreciated how accommodating they were to my food allergy. I often feel like a burden to the restaurant and the people I dine with when I eat out, but I never felt even close to this way. The waiters had recommendations, double checked with the chef, and even told me once that the chef decided to remake something because he wasn't sure if there was contamination. I was completely blown away by their service, and even if the food had been not good, I would probably still come back just for the service alone. From the appetizers to our entree, I could tell there was a lot of thought behind each of our plates, carefully and uniquely crafted, and tasted amazing. Please do yourself a favor and order these pork belly burnt ends if they still have them - they were the most tender, fall apart meat I have ever had. It’s perfect for that. We were able to buy out the resort so it was super private. The property is massive — you need a golf cart to get around, which is kind of fun. Hiking trails are beautiful and the guides are very knowledgeable. Rooms are lovely — country chic, if that’s a thing. Staff highly attentive. Because it’s in the mountains, even in July it was hot but not unbearable. Sunset isn’t until 9:30 so days are nice and long. The notable misfire is the food. I agree with previous reviews that it’s just blah. The fish we had for dinner both nights was downright bad. Because it’s priced like luxury all-inclusive, it should be much better. Hopefully management is reading these reviews and gets a new menu or chef.

Farm to table dishes for all three meals is something I could get used to. The beautiful fresh produce complimented the expertly cooked and seasoned proteins. There wasn’t a single thing we ate that we didn’t enjoy. In between meals, we made sure to stay active to earn our appetite. The property offers access to great trails in the Smokies which we took advantage of as well as a lovely outdoor pool with a view. The room itself was pleasant as well. It was hard to leave the luxurious king bed every morning. The heated floors in the bathroom and the comfy sitting area made our Holly Springs cottage suite the perfect home base. We were also assigned our own golf cart to get around the property (although we chose to walk mostly to take in the views). Service was top notch and the staff were wonderful. Every evening they surprised us with a little treat for our anniversary which was very thoughtful. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay!

It was very spacious with a jacuzzi tub, patio, fireplace and living room as well as a little coffee nook and walk in closet. The ceilings were high giving it a very roomy feel. The traditional furniture gave it that warmth you'd like in a cottage in the woods, You get your own golf cart but we usually walked and or got a ride from one of the Lexus SUV's. The food is outstandingly good for every meal. We played with the Lagotto Romagnolo puppies and checked on the sheep and Tom the turkey every day. We are definitely going back and realized that we are now spoiled by top notch service and the freshest tastiest food. I would describe the experience as magical. Our room was cleaned twice a day and we never ran into housekeeping. The farm is spotlessly clean. The coffee maker and kettle were always filled with water. I very much appreciated the water refill station in the room, the reusable bottles as gifts and the lack of plastic cups, or those annoying mini shampoo bottles. Next time we visit will be with our daughter so that she can experience the magic of Blackberry Farm.

We went for the Brandi Carlile event. My overall impression is that it has gone downhill. When we first went to Blackberry Farm, I couldn't stop talking about it when we got home. We enjoyed the cooking demonstration, but it was far too long and they gave us each a bottle of water to drink while we watched someone cook for over two hours. Being right in the barn with a full kitchen and bar, I would have expected someone to come in to offer a variety of refreshments and maybe even a snack while we waited. The chef was entertaining, but had no assistance in chopping or prepping and did most of it in front of us, so it became boring and tedious. We also couldn't see the screen very well because grease had clouded the camera lense, seems like an easy fix, why didn't they address it. Finally, as one final insult, both times we'd been before, they had sent us off with a boxed lunch on Sunday. Well, they stopped offering that earlier this year, but for $50, we could get a turkey sandwich and some chips to go. I even looked to see if they'd taken on PE because that would explain the stark contrast in the level of service, but they are still family-owned. I'm supposed to go back in February for a design summit, but I'm seriously reconsidering it. I was just really disappointed. After filling out a thoughtful and lengthy review that they had sent, I got a boiler plate response, which really showed me that they might not be paying attention.
