From start to finish, it was great working with the team, Chris & Amanda! We emailed countless questions leading up to the day and they were always great in getting things answered and problem solving as needed. They have worked on many weddings and it shows why people continue to choose them. We had a wedding of about 60 guests and the space had more than enough room. We were able to utilize the patio space as well to get air when needed and so it was great to be able to spread out so comfortably. They could easily handle a larger wedding though as we originally were looking at higher numbers when we started. While your wedding day is overwhelming and you don't often get time to eat, the team made sure to bring us food on their upstairs balcony where we could hide out after our ceremony to eat and get a little quiet time away from guests. They also made sure to package anything we didn't eat (and the many leftover desserts that I overordered on from an outside source) for us to pick up the next day. We were so grateful for this and the food was still great as leftovers--truly! Their service is truly unmatched and they also are great in handling food restrictions/allergies--guests specifically noted this! They brought out smaller portions for those guests when needed so they still had enough options. We are still getting compliments on the food and drinks as well as atmosphere. We can't wait to celebrate many anniversaries eating dinner here too as the food is what absolutely sold us. We especially enjoyed getting to make our own cocktails which guests also raved about. We are eager to return both for other classes and to eat at the restaurant. We might even try one of their overseas excursions, which sounds amazing and of course are food-centric. Tracy’s custom hot honey biscuits were also a huge hit as a late-night snack, and both the double chocolate and strawberry cakes were delicious crowd-pleasers. Like many couples, we barely had time to eat during the whirlwind of the day, but we were so happy that Pagu prepared a to-go bag of all of our food and it was all still incredibly delicious, even the next day! As the big day approached, the team answered all our questions promptly and worked closely with us to rearrange the table layout so everyone could be seated comfortably. We held our rehearsal at the venue the day before, and Amanda was incredibly helpful in coordinating everyone and making sure we all felt confident and prepared for the ceremony. Everything went off without a hitch on the actual wedding day. The transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner were all totally seamless, thanks to the coordination of Amanda, Chris, and Winson; it was clear that they are all seasoned pros at running a wedding, which helped us relax and enjoy the day worry-free! The venue is not only visually stunning but also rooted in community and care. The ceremony took place in the courtyard, which feels like this little hidden oasis right in the heart of Cambridge. There was some preservation work happening on the building exterior that day, but it didn’t impact the experience at all. The surrounding streets and architecture gave us plenty of beautiful backdrops for portraits too. Inside, the main ballroom is unreal. My couple chose it for its theatrical feel and it delivered. The ceiling height alone makes the whole room feel cinematic, and I’ll never forget how stunning the brides looked coming down the staircase. I got to photograph from the balcony, while my partner was on the ground floor, which gave us this incredible perspective during the entrances. The in-house lighting technician was generous with their time and genuinely collaborative. The venue combined the former Axis and Avalon venues to create the House of Blues and their bar/restaurant. While it's nice to get there early and grab a bite or a drink, there's nothing spectacular about the menu. Security upon entering is quick and thorough so it's another plus. The first floor has three bars, restroom, the band merchandise area, and plenty of room for finding the best view of the stage. The second floor is smaller with standing room only however, there are obstructed views due to columns so getting a good spot means you have to arrive early. The third floor has seating but provides unobstructed views of the stage. Sadly, this venue does not have re-entry and they no longer have the option for smokers to step outside from the back of the venue for a break. While they do offer a decent selection if beers, especially from some of the local breweries, they're not always in stock so it makes for a hit-or-miss experience. I was surprised to see they now offer pretzels, cinnamon bites, and mini bags of chips, but none of these options are gluten-free, nor does their restaurant menu. Generally, the sound of the performances and experience of a concert are always positive which keeps me coming back. I recommend seeing a show at the venue and will be coming back for future shows.

Still an cool place to see a show. Wasn't thrilled with one of the security guardsand his behavior and attitude he had towards a fan at a the show. The guy beside me was having a great time. He told me that this was his last sro show due to health issues. He also said he was a huge collector of musicians equipment like drumsticks and guitar picks. And the leader of the band that was playing tossed him a guitar pick and the security guard gave it to someone else. I specifically heard him say that you already got some and gave it to someone else. I thought this was so wrong considering the guy actually asked for the guitar pick from the musician and nobody else did. It wasn't like the musician tossed it over his head the guy actually was using his baseball hat to catch it and it fell out of his hat and landed on the floor in front of him and the security guard had seen the whole thing happen. That security guard was a jerk and was going to throw him out because he responded to the musician whom was clearly talking about what happened and the guard didn't like that the guy called his actions out. He actually ruined the guys experience and he walked out of the show because of it. Again if it was thrown over his head I'd have a different opinion of the situation but was clearly not the case. But I'm sure they use an outside company for security. The lounge upstairs was old and kinda outdated. There was like burn marks on one of the statues and an old Incense burning board was just laying around one of the statues. I found that strange seeing as you can't smoke in the venue. One staff member told me I could go outside to smoke this was prior to the show starting. Thank God I asked when I went down to smoke and I was told if I went out I wouldn't be allowed back in. I was very happy at the fact that I told the bartender I was the designated driver and I did not charge me to buy a can of water they actually gave me a glass of water so I was very happy with that. I've been so many many shows all around the Boston area. I've never once seen a security guard treat a patron like that. Again they probably use it outside agency but I've never seen security refuse to give a paying customer the way he did to that guy. We are all there to have fun and have a great experience and what that security guard did was ruined that guy's experience. Who cares if you already caught one maybe two guitar picks he was putting in the work to have a good time and have a lasting memory. That is my biggest gripe of that evening. I honestly feel they need to update their venue though as there are a bunch of new places popping up. Like the new MGM Music Hall and roadrunner they need to be more updated to stay relevant in my opinion

The museum tells the story of JFK’s life from his childhood days to his assassination. My husband and I started a tradition several years back where we travel to Boston (our favorite city) for our anniversary. I’m a steak girl so we treat ourselves to what we believe will be the best we can get on our actual anniversary. This year we decided to try Moo.. Beacon Hill. Man was that a good decision. From the friendly and warm greeting from the hostess, the welcome and anniversary recognition from the restaurant manager, the water glass that never emptied, the personalized menu in honor of our anniversary, and the most wonderful server (Nelson) I think we’ve ever had… I have to say the service was the best! We were within walking distance from the park and the reviews on Google were high - 4.4. I should have checked Yelp per usual. 3.9 stars as of this moment. I was really curious to know why the reservation slots fill up so fast, and what all the hype is about. This place really lives up to its hype. Small, cozy and intimate setting, that serves robust flavours. I fell in love with each dish I had. For me, all the flavors blending in my mouth was a new experience. The tables and chair are pretty close and crowded, as they try to maximize the number of guests, but don't leave much room for standing and dancing. This is a problem in many music venues, they seem to think that very high volume is a good thing :-/ The waiters did not have make tags. The entire set up was uncomfortable and required us to maintain a 90 degree neck angle in order to view the stage for the duration of this 2 hour show.There is zero room to adjust your chair or view since everyoneis basically sitting on top of each other. Might I add that I am a small person but left with neck pain. The service was poor, and food was just okay. Never again. Don't waste your money. Had I not spent $150 on tickets I would have left before the even show started.

But The Middle East, it's worth writing about as I never had a good experience here. Anyways, I wanted to get an autograph from all the performers and that included the main act who were only meeting those who were vip. I didn't pay for vip but I was photographing for all acts and the main band was very very kind enough to let me QUICKLY get an autograph in the VIP line. So I did. And the staff clearly hated that I did although it quite frankly took 2 minutes lol. I'm not coming back. I'm not recommending anyone to go to this venue. I'm going to be asked to email the owner most likely, but I'm not going to give them the graces. I'm very grateful for the band, I'll keep my head up, and yeah don't go here.

Overall it was a good experience, the entree had some good flavor and buttered buns are a good addition to any fried chicken sandwich. The only real thing I didn’t like was the size of the chicken. It was unfortunately the size of your standard fast food joints fried chicken (obviously this was better and more flavorful) but for size comparison. Our goal is to prevent drinks from coming inside and encourage discarded prohibited items BEFORE entering our venue. never heard of this type of procedure ANYWHERE in New England area, besides Roadrunners!… I even dd checked their website rules and policies to make sure I wasn’t crazy and yes, me and my sister were improperly seize of purchasing venue drink privileges inside, bc we had an empty bottle in line and I threw out my bottle PRIOR to being searched outside the venue. Policy from website- “Patrons will be directed to dispose of any items found on them that appear on the prohibited items list, and confiscated items will be discarded. There will be no storage or check area available for prohibited items.” No where on their website it states you will be prohibited from purchasing drinks inside if you are caught with prohibited items while waiting in line.. We played by there rules and came back an hour to get re-ID only for the large bearded man intimidate his coworker into giving us 21+ bracelets. He said “ I said they were not allowed 21+bracelets, but it’s up to you and your discretion.” You can sense her nervousness and she said unfortunately I cant give you the bracelets. This hinder our concert experience and I want to make sure it doesn’t happen to another attendee. Update your rules and policy if that is the updated process and I will definitely think twice bringing my business here and told all my friends to tell their friends to watch out for this illegal process. Besides that great sound system and amazing light show.. shitty security bc I was still able to drink using my resources and don’t plan to come back anytime soon.
