It can get kinda chaotic since there’s only one way in for cars and not a lot of free parking. I’d keep this in mind if you’re on a tight schedule and looking to leave/enter this place. That being said, the interior of the airport is very clean and nice. Easily the best airport in the state. No problems whatsoever with boarding. There’s a bunch of reasonably priced direct flights to places like Denver for instance. Again only real issue is getting in and out of the airport in your car.

Some hours before the pickup time a call was received from them informing me no cars of same category was available and they are trying to bring a car from other location. I have chosen Enterprise as it's a well established firm and seeing those positive reviews. I also went to their office 15 mins before the pickup time expecting they might arrange some other car, as I already explained them that my weekend plan with family completely rely on them. Despite booking directly through Enterprise's official website and avoided any third party apps, they failed to arrange a car. Despite they said they tried level best to arrange a car from other location, when I checked with their Des Moines airport location, cars of same category were available. It was surprising. Additionally, I found a competitor offering a rental at a significantly lower rate, with superior customer service. I got a car from the competitor at Airport location. So we were able start our weekend plan at least late evening. I understand that inventory challenges can arise, and I appreciate the efforts of the staff. However, this experience has led me to reconsider future rentals from this location. I recommend my friends considering other options or having a backup plan in place. They say an item needs to be of a certain size to require notation/repair, but look for tiny things anyway. They are pursuing a claim against me for a tiny crack in the plastic trim around the grille cover (photos). It wasn't listed on a previous walk around so I am now responsible; though, it did not happen during my time with the vehicle. It's hard to believe they would pull a car out of service for something so trivial... especially considering they wouldn't do the same for a golf ball sized dent in the body... The rep also had no idea of the difference between grille cover trim and the bumper itself. They initially told me the "bumper" was "cracked and misaligned". Not even close. Go to the Johnston location instead. Much better service and they won't nitpick you.

They will scam you. We got a car in Denver and had it booked for a day. We asked for coverage for roadside assistance and insurance through budget since we were driving home from the mountains within an hour and a half of having the car, my right side and rear right side tires, both went flat. The person checking me out, turned the screen around to face him and consented/declined everything on my behalf. He handed me the keys to the car and told me where the car was located. I stepped away from the counter and checked my email for a receipt (anything to acknowledge my contract, rates, etc.). When an email did not arrive, I went back to the counter. I asked for a receipt, and he told me I didn't need one (yes, I do!). Then he told me it would be available in the app - I advised I do not use the Budget app and wanted a paper receipt. At this point, he told me I could get an attorney. He escalated this for no reason... simply giving me a receipt would have solved this issue. I asked for his name, which he refused to give me, then I asked for a manager. The manager had a printed receipt right there on the counter. Onto the car, the car smelled musty (like it had been wet) and the trunk appeared to have been wet at some point. The car was missing a side mirror cover, had several large dents, and did not have a registration/license expiration sticker on the license plate (the car was illegal). Finally, an hour away from the airport, we had issues with the car and had to deal with roadside assistance. Finally, upon returning the car I was told by a gentleman to drop the keys in the box (5pm) because he was just returning from lunch and would check it in and a receipt would be emailed to me. I had to call the following day to get a receipt. Customer service, legal consent, trustworthy cars (mechanical and/or legal) are not strongpoints of this location.

When I arrived to pick up the car, they said the car I reserved was not available because someone else still had it. They got me a different car. After no trouble using it returning the car, I received a receipt with an extra $500 charge on it. It turns out whoever checked the car out to me did not switch it in the computer to the car they actually gave me. The person who handled the return (at this same location) couldn’t figure it out in the computer and said I’d get a receipt and a call later. I did not receive a call but instead received the overcharged receipt. They apparently closed out the car I never had on my record and the $500 charge was for a return at a different location. Despite having a time stamped photo of the green car I actually had in Iowa, they claimed I returned a white car in Los Angeles. There is absolutely no way to reach anyone at the location by phone. It goes straight to some overseas customer service center. After having spent over 90 minutes getting a representative to understand the situation and waiting for a supervisor to review, they agreed to issue a refund. After three weeks, and having received no refund, I called back. I was left on hold for 30 minutes and hung up on. My email was answered with a factually incorrect response and a statement that they would not be refunding. They actually said that the car I drove and that they checked out to me was not their company’s car! After a dispute with the credit card company, they gave them another story, so I currently have the $500 overcharge still on my account and my emails are no longer responded to. AVOID BUDGET AND AVIS AT ALL COSTS! This is a racket.

Theres a couple cashiers there that are nice & seem like they want to provide good service, but management obviously isn't providing the with the tools or the training to do so, but more often than not the cashier & whoever else is working there will treat you like an absolute nuisance, sometimes even ignoring any attempts to talk to them or make polite conversation while checking out. It's absolutely absurd. I've been coming to this store several times a week for at least the past 10 years & there's been multiple times i've left the store on the verge of tears because the cashier was so needlessly rude when I did nothing but be kind to them. I am not a "karen"- i've worked in retail, customer service, & food service all my life & know how hard it can be working in these positions but 85% of the staff, especially the management at this location so blantantly uncaring & cruel. It's almost like they'd rather you just walk in and steal whatever you want so they don't have to deal with doing their job & checking you out, because i've also seen them allow people to walk in & walk right out with products, stealing them right off the shelves and walking out if the store without any attempt hiding it, as the cashier just watches them and shrugs. you literally receive better treatment at this location if you're a thief than if you're a paying customer.
