1450 for rice and curry is expected for tourist price and tasted really good. Food arrived quickly. However, kotthu didn't taste very nice and we ordered some cokes that didn't taste nice nor like the branded Coca colas. Drinks are of high price.

Dine in feel like a having meal with old proud governors, because of the colonial structure and also because of the foods are in great quality, tasty and balanced well. Very unique flavors and you can find local, Indian, Chinese and western foods here. My baby boys were so happy with their shrimp burger(that I never found in anywhere) Mac & Cheese. We tried curry noodles, kottu and rice and curry unique to Sri Lanka. Very tasty. Nice homemade Ice cream flavors together make refreshed the hottest day I faced in Sri Lanka so far. We ordered our food & drinks.They serve 2 bread sticks & 3 starter bus with butter on the house...much appreciated 👍.
I ordered Thai prawn curry with rice n husband ordered Kung Pao chicken with noodles &for the starter batter fried prawns.
What I got was Thai chicken curry. instead of prawns I ate chicken. Before I noticed & realized I poured the curry on the rice.... My bad...😩.. while eating we informed this to a staff who passes by,he then bring the other staff who was took order from us.that person quickly went inside, might be check his order note,but no one apologized regarding the That curry.
With4.5/5 goole never expect this kind of blunder.

You have a whole range of dosa here. We had an Onion dosa (500LKR), Ghee dosa (600LKR) and a Paper dosa (500LKR) which were really tasty.🤤
You have to go to the cashier, pay and order yourself at the beginning. So a tip would be, ask someone to go get a table and the other can straightaway go to the cashier and make the order. You’d save some time. 😌

Service is also really gentle and you don't feel you have to rush. The food is spicy! Specially the sauces so take that into account. Price is great (look pics) and portions are good. Visited this place again after 2 years. Quality has gone down a bit now, most of the items in the list that we wanted were sold out, and then we ordered a milkshake, choco flash and a green tea ice cream. Milk shake was not that good, the choco flash was more like banana flash. It didn't mention it has banana in it. And then the green tea ice cream tastes nothing like green tea. More like vanilla ice cream.. The flavours on the menu's doesn't add up with the taste of them. And cherry on top of the cake, they don't take card payments. Ice cream in general was good just didn't match up to the flavours it was listed.

I waited almost 6 months to get a chance to try the fried ice cream at this place! It was a worthy wait and an awesome experience to remember the last day of 2018!
We tried the Banana Split and the Passion Fruit Ice cream. Both were tasting sooo good! Even the prices were reasonable. There is parking for one vehicle but I managed to find a public parking close by.

Wouldn’t recommend this place at all. The only thing that was good were the drinks. We went on a friday night and over half the menu items weren’t available. Out of the available items we ordered the cheese bacon kottu which was actually chicken bacon (not disclosed earlier! ) and was overpowered with cabbage. We visited The Whizz around 2 pm and ordered the Mongolian Seafood Fried Rice and Raspberry Mojito. They were tasty, the portions were good, and the food was prepared on time. After that, we tried the Chicken Cheese Kottu, which was also really good in taste and portion. All the food we had was worth the money.

I went there with my friends. It was a great place and the service was amazing from the arrival and got almost nothing to complain about. The Ebi Curry and Okonomiyaki were delicious and we loved every single moment there. The staff was very supportive as well as the venue itself was was very scenic. Cafe Nihonbashi was a unique experience. I had the Lime soda tea, Okonomiyaki with a side of onigri and all of them were well prepared - I would recommend it. My friend had the Milkshake, Seafood tempura Bento and it was well served aswell. Some constructive criticism are the place felt severely understaffed and the two servers were having a hard time with the small crowd there. The seating was nice but we had an issue with occasional flies which questions the sanitary of the place.
Either way I recommend trying the place out as it was a unique experience especially in Kandy.

We called in for some rice and curry. It was a little hard to find - at the back of an old shopping mall, but was well worth the effort. We received a warm welcome and had the 5 menu choices explained in good English.
We had the veg curry and fish curry. It was wonderful watch the small friendly team preparing numerous take out orders. This was our first meal presented on a banana leaf in Sri Lanka and it was delicious.
The food was exactly as advertised - authentic. All fresh and tasty and very reasonably priced - give it a go - you won’t be disappointed.

Fun place to hang out with your friends and have a drink overlooking the Mahawali River. The place is calm and staff gives us all the freedom we want. Food is good and affordable. This place offers private dining areas as well. Some people might find the furnitures and facilities are a bit out dated, but the breeze coming from the river wash those thoughts away. I recently dined at the Oak Ray Restaurant in Kandy and must say it is an excellent place to dine if you are visiting Kandy Temple and City. The restaurant is conveniently located very close to the temple, which makes it the perfect place to refresh after the temple visit.

The waiters were very friendly and hospitable. The carefully explained what some of the dishes were and gave good suggestions based on what we liked. Menu had a variety of options for every course.

Even for not being vegetarian or vegan, I couldn't appreciate more the genuineness of this place under all aspects.
Very popular and highly frequented but welcoming at the same time.

Good food, prices reasonable, atmosphere open and nice, staff clears table quickly, our travel guide took us here as we were visiting Sri Lanka for the first time and didn't know where to find local vegan food and this was a big relief. I still don't know the names of all the food but we had string hoppers with curry, fried chilli, kuttu, mango pineapple pudding made with coconut milk and something like a Jalebi. They have a DJ playing nonstop, which is super irritating. And seriously, cigarette smoke is everywhere, no escape from it. Had an amazing experience at The Kiosk! I tried their Lemon Mojito for just 250 LKR, and it was super refreshing with a unique taste definitely worth trying! Also got a Chicken Submarine for 500 LKR, and I must say, the portion was huge enough for two people! You won’t find this quality and quantity for this price anywhere else around the KANDY.
I grabbed their Cheese Kottu, and it was incredibly creamy and packed with flavor one of the best I’ve had! The student-run staff were really friendly, attentive, and always focused on maintaining cleanliness wiping tables, windows, and floors to keep the place spotless.
