We ordered the steak, which costs €34. Portion size was tiny and the tiny little jug of sauce was enough to barely cover the steak. The other main course was their 'special'. They were so accommodating for our 18 person booking. We were able to bring our homemade birthday cake which was special. The food they served was absolutely sensational. Despite the limited menu I still struggled to decide what dishes I wanted - I wanted them all! We had 3 courses each and every single plate was perfection. The staff are welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and very attentive. Service was appropriately timed and the specials listed with confidence. On serving the wine both a taste and the label show were perfectly executed. For the starter I had the goats cheese tartlet with rocket and balsamic. My partner had the smoked fish with mini toasts. Both portions were generous and incredibly flavourful. For the main I ordered lamb shank, with creamy mash and seasonal green vegetables; she ordered the scallops and king prawns in chili sauce with the rosemary and garlic potatoes. The lamb was perfectly cooked and fell from the bone with no effort at all. The mash was as promised very creamy and smooth, and the brandy jus both rich and flavourful. The scallops were deliciously tender with just the right amount of bite in the sauce, the portion of rosemary potatoes was incredibly generous, and perfectly crunchy if not a touch light on the rosemary and garlic. Neither of us ordered dessert having been sufficiently stuffed, however the dessert menu seemed very appealing and a nice surprise to see humble classics like rhubarb crumble on the list. We did not get a dessert as none of the options really appealed to us. Like a tardis it's bigger on the inside that it looks (which is no bad thing). The style and atmosphere are fantastic. There was plenty of space to accomodate our buggy, baby and toddler. The staff helped me (a coeliac) make up something I could eat stress free. My son broke a glass and the guys cleaned it up no fuss or stress. The food was exceptional the plates were all empty going back. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in Gorey 10/10. Very reasonableh priced aswell.

A gin bramble is my favourite drink & I was delighted to see it was on the menu. I’d recommend booking in advance because it’s very busy and there often isn’t enough tables for walk-ins. The most recent time I went with my family. Our order arrived at our table in less than 10 minutes and the pizzas looked and tasted like they were prepped as margaritas and when toppings are ordered they place them on top and reheat the pizza. None of the topping had any kind of crisp to them as they should if they were cooked fresh with the pizza. Safe to say we will not be returning on our next visit to the amber springs hotel.

Spacious dinning room, lovely music and absolutely delicious food. If you love very spicy food it's definitely worth a try. The portions are also more than enough and can take left overs home. The tapas was absolutely delicious and could not be faulted. What spoiled the evening was the dessert offering. We could see the 5 front of house staff were busy, so we patiently waited 45 minutes after asking for a dessert menu, to have one delivered. When asked “how was everything?” we responded with bad and no name was taken and they just weren’t bothered to care about our bad experience. By the time we had paid the bill we had spent two and a half hours here.

To sum up filthy restaurant Surly staff overpriced food will never set foot in the dreadful place ever again, what's a totally depressing experience the whole thing was and a complete waste of over €20. I'd have been better off with a day old sandwich from the fridge in the petrol station part of this premises.
