There looked to be 2 Indian restaurants to choose from within walking distance of each other. I must say we choose right (by chance). We received a warm welcome, the decor is modern and crisp. I always go and have a look at the toilets before I order as I believe it says a lot about a place . Immaculate……clean and fresh . My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Fantastic flavoursome food, well presented and served promptly. Tables Cleared quickly afterwards as well. Cracking food , super service, a lovely environment and a price that was fitting. The pub is dog friendly and traditional inside. We had a walm welcome and were greated by the manager Julie, who brought over a towel to dry of our Leo, as he had been for a dip in the sea. A nice selection of ales on offer and lovely menu of homemade meals on offer. There is also a specials board on offer. I went for the homemade steak & mushroom ale pie. It was full of flavour and came with the most creamy of mashed potato, veg and a small jug if gravy. For dessert I had the lemon cheese cake which was also homemade. Very reasonably priced lunch for two. Large white wine, pint of ale, 2 mains and a dessert for £42. My compliments to the chef and a massive thank you to Julie for her hospitality. We will be back very soon on our next trip to Pevensey. I would highly recommend you pay a visit to the Castle Inn.

It was Sunday so of course we had a Sunday roast. Chicken Beef Pork or Lamb on offer. Great meal tasty and a fantastic portion and the gravy was to die for. Obviously we had to finish the meal with one of the great puddings on offer. Would highly recommend if you are down here, we were welcomed like old friends. I was extremely disappointed with the Crispy Beef in Chilli sauce. It was more like rock hard batter tubes covered in a sticky honey sauce, with a tiny sliver of Beef inside each piece of batter. The Camembert is standard, but by far one of the best roasts I’ve tried in Eastbourne out of many. Around £16 which I find to now be on the lower side appallingly! They were great to accommodate to adding gravy and Yorkshire pudding to seasonal veg for me as a vegetarian! The staff are okay but could be better. We almost got turned down for sitting outside when there were only 3 parties there as we were a party of 2 but was quickly corrected. The atmosphere is that of a pub so take it as you will.
