For the main course; we ordered the Lobster Risotto & the Chamorro Roastizado (braised beef shank) served on a bed of (amazing!) pureed potatoes. The food was delicious, and came in large portions. We were stuffed & could not finish our meals and doggie-bagged the rest for our next day’s brunch. The table service was very good and in summary; the whole dining experience was superb. The cocktails are delicious. We had the Mezcal Rojo and Margarita on the rocks. This was the best margarita I’ve had in Huatulco with perfect ratios. Just last week and we’ve been here before. Dinner dining from the top tier part of Rustico restaurant is something special to note. He was mediocre and was slow on certain requests. To his defense, it was a busy night but he should still communicate with all the tables that he’s waiting on. I felt we were always questioning his whereabouts and our requests. Dislikes: the wooden fork and other utensils that were made of wood. I get the vibe they were going for…rustic, stone age, Amish, whatever. I wasn’t down, especially if it makes my dining experience a challenge. I should have asked for metal utensils. I would, however, like to high light one of the pork chop dishes. It was not only tasty and fresh but every bite was soft, yet crispy. Props to the chef. Food was GREAT. We had the shrimp platter which was a variety of jumbo shrimp prepared 3 different ways. Soooo good. Also had the jalapeno poppers. Probably the best I've ever had. Not overly hot that you can't enjoy them and the bacon was cooked perfectly. Alfredo himself was there both nights. A very hard working guy and very friendly. Prices were higher than the simple taco stands but still cheap by US standards. We also took his cooking class. It was the basic Mexican cooking class and perfect for us. Stuff his mother taught him.
