Their vegan cakes are fantastic and they have a great deal on the breakfast toastie with hot drink for just under £7. They have a full bar and the live music Friday evening sessions are very popular. Order and pay at the till and the lovely staff will bring your food to your table. Alternatively there is a serving hatch if you're buying takeaway. All the food I've ever had has been delicious, but I've removed one star because the menu offerings are now more limited than they used to be and I have to remember that it is a vegetarian cafe so I need to request food and drinks to be made vegan. We saw the £25 offer for use of the spa facilities and afternoon tea included and my beautiful friends treated me for my Hen day. The facilities are great - a lovely swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and massage chair - scary but amazing! We were really lucky with the weather so even managed to enjoy the outdoor pool. The grounds are beautiful and, for a minute, we forgot we were in Exmouth! The afternoon tea was absolutely delicious and huge! We were surprised that pretty much all the cafes were closed, but found that Franklins was open, so decided to try them. I ordered the cream tea (5.95 GBP, which I thought was quite a good price given that I’ve paid 3 pounds and more just for a pot of tea in some places), and my spouse his drink of choice, an Americano. We shared the scone and cream (a huge indulgence, as it is). The drinks were fine, the scone and cream delicious. Wow....I cannot believe how busy it is, especially the Strand area or main square. Cafes and restaurants all busy and we managed to get a seat outside at Franklin's, after the lady sanitised the table. Good menu, good service. I had a mini breakfast and my partner had an omelette. Feels like every single ingredient was the cheapest available they could get. Didn't finish the food and many other plates around the place were left unfinished. The worst cafe I've ever eaten at.

Only the view is good. I normally go to wetherspoons for breakfast but thought we would try something different. It needs a bit of TLC inside as it looks tired. Water damage to the ceiling and some rips to the seats. It's self-service , you place your oder at the till then they call your number and you go and collect it. It's reasonably priced, so I can't complain about that. We had 2 breakfasts, which cost just under £16. Or you can build your own, which is good. Breakfast is all day, and they do burgers, fish and chips, salads and sandwiches, etc. If I'm honest, I've had better breakfasts. The toast was very thin, but it was nice with proper butter, hashbrown was nice, and eggs cooked to perfection. I wasn't a fan of the beans, and the bacon was a little too salty, so that made me thirsty more. But I guess it's all personal preference. It's definitely a holiday seaside cafe. But don't knock it till you tried it as sometimes places like these can be the best ones.

There is not much advertising for the cafe apart from a small sign above the door, that says, "Self Service Cafe". They have views of the beach and outdoors seating that is just beach side. They have what looked like a fantastic breakfast, or you can build your own breakfast from a selection of items. No it is not swanky like the new cafes and restaurants further down the shoreside, but having dined at both of them this definitely is the place that I would go to again. Location is under the trees across from the new nature deprived entertainment venue . These are the only three trees I can see along the promenade. Shame new development is cutting down nature.

Food is really tasty, excellent quality produce and cooked to perfection. Presentation is always beautiful and staff are super friendly and helpful. Very pretty surrounds, only one very personal and small point I would make - it would be good to have a few more shade options outside. They are dog friendly outside which is awesome and there are a couple of shaded tables, but if like us you have a heat averse pup and it's busy, you may find it hard to get a table with shade for them. But otherwise I cannot fault it and they do provide water for dogs too so I'm wouldn't mark them down for it, we will absolutely keep coming, just maybe with a sun shade for the doggo 😊

Must have new staff. I was discusted to see how dirty it was inside the car frames still had black soot. They have a great cafe that has friendly staff, clean toilets and generally a pleasant place to sit and drink coffee and even tuck into a bumper breakfast. The only issue is you will need to pick your time of day as it can be a struggle to get your vehicle onto their site during peak periods. Although, the friendly staff will do as much as they can to ensure you are off the road. Businesses can advertise on the large board at the back of the site which is very visible to anyone entering.
