The live accordion musician singing German songs was also a very nice touch. Overall, if you’re craving authentic German cuisine, Alpine Haus is the place to get it. Our server was very sweet and attentive. Now, I’m German (not german descent or born in Germany and raised in the US). I only moved to the US 12 years ago and absolutely know what simple German food should taste like. My husband was first shocked to see the cheese and ham laying on top of the super thin Schnitzel and we laughed it off since we never tried it like that before, but was disappointed with the first bite. It’s definitely a lazy and overpriced schnitzel that I could have cooked better myself. The special thing about a cordon bleu is when you cut in and the gooey cheese melts from in between your two layers of schnitzel. There was non of that. One layer of thin schnitzel with a layer of cheese and ham on top. Takes less than 3 min to prepare this and therefore tasted absolutely underwhelming. For the price we paid we expected more and definitely better food. Overall this restaurant could do better as it’s a really simple menu. P.S. adding parsley to every dish is also lazy.

We sat out in the beer garden section to enjoy the live music, which was lots of fun. There were also two other dining areas, so plenty of seating for a multitude of people. They could easily handle large groups. FOr our meal, first, we ordered the large Bavarian pretzel and shared it. It comes with three mustard sauces to dip the pretzel into and they are all delicious especially the spicy one with a little horseradish in it. For our main course, we ordered the bratwurst pretzel platter which comes with sauerkraut, roasted brussels sprouts, a large pretzel with all the sauces to dip into and loads of bratwurst. It is easily enough to feed four hungry adults. Additionally, one person ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fresh fruit, another ordered the biergarten salad, which comes with herb vinaigrette and we also ordered a spinach salad. I did find the touchscreen interface easy to use once I finally got there and I think that Taco Bell did a nice job here of breaking things down in categories making it easy to find. There were also photos of the food, but like many restaurant photos you are looking at a Monet and you get a Picasso. The order took some time to come out which was around five minutes or so. I am not quite sure what the issue was, but it was a long time. While I waited, there was a sign about the floor being wet with water spilled on the floor. During the entire visit no one came to mop it up, which I find inexcusable in any restaurant. Perhaps they lack a mop? Either way, that is dangerous and should have been cleaned up immediately as your average customer is not wearing “non-Slip” shoes. Enough on that and onto the food… I ordered a Hashbrown Toasted Breakfast Burrito with Steak and a Spicy Cheesy Double Beef Burrito as they looked great in the photo on the Kiosk and sounded good as I always take some home for my dog. So, to start I took a few photos of the exterior and then the interior and then we move on to the food portion. The first two food photos are of the Hashbrown Toasted Breakfast Burrito. I wish I could say something like it “blew my mind” but it was a bit more of a disappointment than anything. Thankfully they at least have that Diablo sauce in the packets, so I ate half of it as the other half was going to the dog. After that I transitioned to the Spicy Cheesy Double Beef Burrito. Once again, I was epically disappointed and was overwhelmed with the amount of rice as I couldn’t really taste much else and this surely was the “sinking ship” of the day. I would describe this as “death by rice in Flavorless Valley”. My best guess here is that it is not necessarily the fault of Taco Bell itself, but perhaps the employees need to do a bit of work on presentation and corporate recommended amounts of ingredients. Having worked at a Del Taco, I know this is hard to get when things get busy, but well, I was the only customer in there as the other table had its food. Just saying. Final Thoughts: I realize that this is not the most positive of reviews, but if the manager does not know what is happening and the product that is currently being put out, business suffers. If you are dying from hunger pangs and need something to eat, perhaps this would be worth entertaining. Lettuce and tomatoes at the bottom and a big slop of messy shredded chicken spilling out of the taco it was soggy and inedible. The bean and “cheese” tacos lacking all cheese , I’m guessing they put the cheese on the bottom of the tortilla since they also assembled the other taco backwards, and they slopped the burnt beans on top?? Very weird never seen that done before couldn’t even taste the cheese and was hardly visible upon inspection. And the salsas they gave us were mostly empty and that is not an exaggeration. Are you guys rationing salsa over there? Because all of our red and green salsas were 1/4 full.. less than half full. So crazy. Wasn’t even enough to cover all of the tacos. Which the bean ones badly needed some extra flavor. Tortillas were also dry as heck. Extremely disappointed, I wouldn’t give any stars if that was possible but I guess 1 star will have to do for this google review. My husband and I work hard for our money so when we do get to rarely eat out we hope it’ll be money well spent. Taco Cabana is amazing in San Antonio, I figured it would be great coming out of town but was extremely let down by this experience. Never EVER coming to this location again. A waste of money.

The breading that they bread them in was not heavily seasoned which was kind of a disappointment but also kind of a good thing so I was not going to give them any less points on that. The dinner rolls reminded us of Parker House yeast rolls. Which you never get to eat those. Those were wonderful!
