It was pretty empty. The server was friendly and spoke good English. We were with a baby and they seated us at a good table for that and near an outlet to charge a dying phone. There are high chairs for babies which were in OK condition but bring wipes to clean it. The food was good although personally it was fancy and some of the classic staples (e.g. shopska salad) were missing. We really went for the wood fired pizza but it never arrived. The salad with the cheese-based mouse and steamed veggies were very good. Prices are a bit high but everything was fresh and cleanliness felt good. AC inside is asthmatic. May update the review if we try the pizza.

The warm welcome we receive by Keira, Scott and the team not only gives an instant friendly homely vibe, but more of that familiar feeling of nostalgia when visiting a regular favoured haunt (Great to see the ever enthusiastic Dennis back in front of house!) Unlike other restaurants in Bansko, the tantalising menu has something for everyone. The burger concoctions in particular are unique to Smokey's and are cooked correctly (not charred like most appear to do), paired simply but effectively with moreish hand cut fries. But the true magic comes "from the smoker" element of the menu, which Scott clearly demonstrates with great passion within every meal he and his team prepare. The pictures just don't do enough justice I'm afraid. The venue is contemporary in styling, although a warm and inviting environment. Tucked away from all the tacky big light up eateries that claim to be the best in Bansko. It's a far cry from the previous rustic traditional Bulgarian home of Smokey's near the old town, but it bares no significance really. In my eyes, these guys could deliver the same high standard of food, cocktails and atmosphere within a garden tent! Truly exceptional at their craft. Bansko isn't all about the ski life, visiting simply perpetuates the desperate need to satisfy our taste buds with the culinary exploits of Smokey Mountain Bar & Grill.

On the intent they looked amazing, but unfortunately you have to order the ribs (and some other dishes) in advance. Instead we went for the Brisket Bitterballen and Chicken Wings in a white BBQ sauce as a starter and the Bacon Burger and the Pulled Pork sandwich as main. The food was good as well as the service. Everybody here speaks proper English! The Brisket Bitterballen were PERFECT!!!! The Bacon Burger had not much bacon, but still tasted good and the Pulled Pork sandwich was marinated to perfection. I would have prefer the White BBQ saus as a dip instead of on the Chicken Wings, but... OK. The prices are quite steep for Bulgaria though. If it was a more western country the prices would have been normal.

We have had family and friends visiting recently and the people working here have truly looked after us and our guests 💯💥 Krissy leads from the front with Luna and Valentin and they especially make children very welcome. My parents particularly loved the English Breakfast and the 80's background music. I had the Tuna Burrito which was truly the best thing I have had in some time. My missess had the Burger with avocado and cheddar which she said was amazing along with my oldest son who had the other burger. My youngest had the hot dog which was delcious and was a trooper for putting the hottest sauce all over it and complete finished it without a drink period. The staff are very friendly and just the best service in the world. We had breakfest the next morning and it was just as delcious as the dinner menu. The menu was just right.
