The service was not bad, my server was just new and didn't really have a lot of answers to some basic questions and gave some incorrect answers but everybody has to learn so I give the service a pass with a four even though it's probably worse than that but just because he was new not because he didn't care. The atmosphere was fine there wasn't anything wrong. It wasn't appealing necessarily the way the tables are all sprawled out and just kind of chaotic but I think they have live music on Wednesday Thursday and Friday's and that's probably good so I gave it a 4 star instead of a 3 like it probably deserved. Now on to the food, it was just okay. It wasn't necessarily bad it just was very Bland I got the catfish and fried shrimp with french fries and it was just very very bland and boring. I asked for some seasoning salt and that helped but there's just no way to get seasoning inside of something fried as good as when you do it before you fry it. Everybody was pretty nice and again it wasn't bad it just wasn't great. The price for 6 fried shrimp and three pieces of fish and french fries and a coke was only $18 including tax so the prices aren't outrageous. If I lived in the area I would give it another shot but because I don't I definitely won't.

We were pleased with the humor in the decor and the service-we were sat quickly at a quiet comfortable side table I ordered the 4 piece fish/3 jumbo fish, fried with baked potato instead of fries. The catfish was tender and fresh, the potato was loaded with sour cream and butter as I asked. Hubs had the taco plate and they were consumed so quickly, I didn’t have time to take a picture! 😀 Would have enjoyed one of their frozen concoctions-but we were road tired and had to get back on the road early next morning. We look forward to visiting again next time we pass thru.

The portions are a good size. The roast beef po boy was good, the bread was appetite too crisp on the outside making it hard to dip in the gravy. But overall it was a good meal.

Fast seating even on Saturday night. Music isn't too loud, tables aren't crammed together, lighting is a bit dark but decor is nice. Comfortable and nicely air-conditioned. The server (Randall?) was very attentive and on top of soda refills. I had the house crab cakes. They were perfectly seasoned and had a great pan-fried crisp on the bottom. Lots of meat and not too much filler. Would prefer a bit more of the sauce and lemon but still delicious. Husband had the sun-dried tomato chicken. Huge portion, variety of vegetables and he enjoyed it though it had a bit too much black pepper. He ordered the crème brûlée for dessert and it was massive and perfectly caramelized. I had the pineapple upside-down cake and it was a large portion as well. Moist cake, fresh whipped cream, very enjoyable. Thanks for a nice stop on our trip.

It took 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The food is not impressive by any stretch and is overpriced. First I went late during the week to order Chicken Flautas and they had only put cheese inside. Was able to get that resolved, wont make the mistake of going late. Now we go last night and eat inside. Food was great, our server was horrible & couldn't make any recommendations when asked. We ordered 2 Platinum Margaritas & a modelo rita. The menu price was 13.95 for the platinum margaritas & 12.95 + $1 for the Modelo rita. We get the bill & we weren't charged for Platinum margaritas but rather a margarita (11.95) with a Platinum add on for a large (5.50). We were told it was more for a large when the manager on duty came over after we expressed an issue with our waiter. She stated that prices for large aren't on the menu. We tried to explain that if there is only one price on the menu and there are 2 sizes both prices need to be on the menu especially when we all had the same size drinks including the modelo rita but that rang up as the price stated on the menu. What further proves my point is that all the drinks brought to the table were the same size but only one rang up with the price stated on the menu. Our other issue was that we didn't order a margarita but rather a Platinum margarita which should have rung up as such so now I believe that margaritas we were brought didn't contain the better tequila we wanted. This would be proven with the headaches we woke up with this morning. Very unhappy with the experience last night and will have to stop eating there. I don't recommend going unless you want to deal with poor service & problematic billing.

So we ordered the Firecracker Shrimp and also the Swamp Bites (fried Alligator nuggets) for our 8 year old. We also tried an order of two each of their four different kinds of grilled oysters. Two were garlic butter and Parmesan, two were topped with a crabmeat mixture, two were oysters Rockefeller, and two were topped with cheese and jalapenos! They were decent with my favorite being the jalapeno cheese! For our dinners our 8 year old had fried shrimp and fries off of the kids menu. My wife decided on the shrimp and grits, I ordered the Delta combo of catfish fillets and oysters. The Firecracker Shrimp were really good, but not a lot of them. Our 8 year old ate the entire appetizer of fried alligator!!! We had to get a side of ranch to dip it in because he didn't care for the Hollandaise sauce that came with it. My wife's Shrimp and grits were just ok, she was a little disappointed that it looked like they just put ettouffee over grits with shrimp! I tasted it and I didn't really care for it because when you've had great Shrimp and Grits you compare everything else to that. My Delta combo had two catfish fillets and 6 oysters with fries, plus two hush puppies. Now in most places you go that have seafood they offer combo platters of multiple items of your choice of two at a set price. Here they charge you for the cost of a platter of one item and then add six dollars and change to that. So somewhere else you might pay $22-23 Dollars for a combo platter. Here at R and K's your going to pay around $26-27 dollars for a combo platter that didn't have as much as other places. My catfish was not fresh and was tough around the edges, the oysters were a little overcooked. I also love Tarter Sauce with my seafood. I didn't care for theirs at all. It just didn't have much of a taste to it. So when you're used to eating good seafood when you've grown up around it all your life and you know what it's supposed to be like, you're going to be a little disappointed with seafood here. Now I think of all those years wanting to try R and K's only to find out it wasn't quite what you expected. I don't mind driving two hours for great seafood. And there are quite a few really Good places two hours from me!

Took my girl here for her birthday (her choice). The outside could definitely use a makeover. The front slab looked like it needs to be power washed and the front door looks like it has never been cleaned. Anyway once we got inside everything changed. She suggested to eat at Floyd’s . It is a Cajun restaurant. The food and the service is outstanding. We ate the blackened salmon with gnocchi and different kinds of oysters. The fried catfish portion was pretty good. It was the crawfish etouffee that was just bad. I love crawfish etouffee and get it a lot when I eat out. It just had a very bland bad taste. I can’t really describe it. Seemed to be cooked ok but just didn’t taste good at all. I had to smother it with hot sauce and tarter to slug it down. Very disappointing. Good things where the service was good and it’s a neat place inside. It really filled up quickly so there must be some good items on the menu. I saw a lot of fried seafood come out. My dish however wasn’t good.

We had to try it. So we drove to Beaumont early Sunday to arrive first through the door and beat the rush. By far the best burgers we have ever eaten! The buns were soft. Every burger hit the entire pallet of flavors. Was not impressed. The food was mediocre. First off the wheat bread was crunchy underneath and edges. Grilled Chicken w/grilled asparagus wasn't great. The grilled asparagus had no flavor, yuck. It would be logical to blame poor management, or, possibly, poor ownership, for mishandling the labor load necessary for the upkeep of the back of house, as that’s generally the root of issues such as these. When there’s not enough focus on proper cook time/serving time at a buffet-style restaurant, the food will often be too cold, unevenly cooked, under or over-seasoned, etc. It’s possible that they were understaffed, and that is definitely a possible detriment. My friend asked if we could have some more coffee because we were still eating, I asked about water. She came back with 1 glass of water but didn't bring any coffee. Very disappointed in the service. First time experiencing this. Ashley however was appreciated for her kindness and helping us even though she wasn't our waitress. I thanked her on the way out. Regardless of my experience, I will be back because I know this is not the norm.

Upon being seated the first thing I noticed was how breezy it was with so many fans spinning at high speed. It was a little distracting. I went back out to our car to retrieve my jacket. The roux was dark just like I like it . The shrimp held their shape but we're very much overcooked for my liking. I had the shrimp po boy with fried shrimp and okra as my side. With the first bite I noted that the bread was real French bread. It had a nice crust but was tender and moist on the inside. The shrimp were fried perfectly. The vegetables were refresh and delicious. The fried okra was yummy My husband ordered the crawfish etouffee. When they sat it down we both were wowed with how beautiful it was but the first bite put us off. It clearly contained Campbell's Golden Cream of Mushroom soup. That soup has an unmistakable flavor. It was very disappointing. We intend to try it one more time but will not order the etouffee.
