普通に美味しい。Gets busy on Saturdays because it’s right next to the Davis Farmer’s Market. The line moves fairly quickly, so you pay, take a number and the food is brought to your table. Water is self serve. I ordered the pesto crepe and added mushrooms. Salad comes with a balsamic vinaigrette. Food is good, nothing mind-blowing. Nice establishment with generally friendly wait staff. I would visit again.

Everything we ordered was prepared so beautifully, it was like eating a work of art. I loved the ability to walk in off the street and grab a couple seats at the high top, decide what dishes to order, then walk up to the register to place it with the help of the knowledgeable staff.
A fantastic place to get brunch, one of the best in Davis, although it can get busy it is worth the wait.

As someone from out of town trying to find a restaurant that can accommodate 17 people, The Mustard Seed exceeded our expectations. Reservation was easy and very professional.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owners and they had arranged 2 tables in a private area for our group. Name cards were done showing the meal selection that was made the days prior. Everything was done correctly.
There was an amazing wine selection and with a party of 17, the owners surely knew how to recommend the choice of wine that goes well with our meals.
Food was excellent. The majority of the group had the rib eye which everyone said was done to perfection. A few had the cauliflower steak as well as the duck which I heard they also said was tasty. I personally went for the lamb which was delicious and well prepared. I really liked the watermelon & feta salad which was refreshing.
If you’re looking for a place to host a few people or even a small group such as what we did, I highly recommend this place. I knew everyone from my group had a lovely time here and everyone appreciated the service and hospitality.

We went to The Mustard Seed for my daughter's graduation from UC Davis. From the start, the staff was amazing. They brought us wine on the front patio as we took family pictures. They paired glasses of wine with each of our meals. They even laughed as we did the "great dessert" trade around the table. Had a very enjoyable weekday lunch with friends here. They have indoor and covered outdoor seating. Our servers were friendly and attentive. We had reservations but they probably weren't necessary, plenty of tables. Parking could be an issue. Street parking only. But a nice thing about the area is the walkways between the streets, filled with plenty of little shops and whatnot to explore. We did not have dinner, but the dinner menu did look very interesting!

Davis is a college town. As such the food options run cheap, caloric, and fast. The Mustard Seed is a rare exception (from what I can tell it's one of 2, maybe 3 quality-food-focused spots in town). Housed in a small, quaint cottage, it's loaded with charm. And the food and service are great. It's definitely pricey, but IMO worth it. I happened to be there during UC Davis commencement weekend (not intentionally) and they still happily seated me without a reservation as I'd arrived early and promised not to take too much time. The menu was limited given the special occasion weekend, but I still had a fantastic Cesar salad and truly delicious plate of seared scallops with black rice, asparagus, and heirloom carrots topped with a luxurious red curry sauce. The portions were abundant, but not in a grotesque way. My server was super kind and overall, I highly recommend splurging on this spot vs. others in town. If I had any recommendations it would be to try to treat the mosquitoes on the back porch. :).

Wow, what a great place this is. My daughter, who’s a vegetarian, found it and they had a fantastic dish for her called a cauliflower steak. I had a real steak and both were amazing. I would love to give this place a great review but unfortunately I can’t. The food was good the people were pleasant and the seating was nice and clean. All was good up until I checked my bank when I was leaving. These guys decided to give themselves a 10% tip without permission. I’m a cash tipper and usually leave a lot more than 10% but not when they decide to just take it. My total was $61 and some change. When I signed the receipt I didn’t put anything for a tip because I planned on using cash. When checking my bank they charged my card $67 and some change. This is completely rude and dishonest of them to do this. I don’t do business like this and really hope this isn’t Sop for this place.

I took my family to this resteraunt tonight as it was recommended by our hotel. The bathroom was disgusting. The trash was full, floor sopping wet, and it was just overall dirty. The ketchup bottle on the table had a greasy film over it and the table was sticky. The resteraunt was not very busy and the food came out pretty quick. However, it was not very good. I have teenagers and they eat pretty much anything but none of them finished their burgers. The staff was not that friendly, and none of them smiled. The cost was kinda alot for what they brought to the table. Overall it was not a very pleasant experience and not one I will repeat.

We stopped by Café Bernardo while in Davis, just looking to grab some coffee. Turns out the place is more suited for breakfast or lunch, but they do serve coffee as well.
The space is nice — plenty of room, calm vibe, both indoor and outdoor seating. But it was super busy, definitely a popular spot with locals. The outdoor area has old-style iron chairs, which may look cute, but I was wearing a dress and my legs were freezing — not the most comfortable seating.
We ordered two cappuccinos and two desserts. The coffee came first — strong, rich, and really good. But the desserts took forever and only arrived after we’d already finished half our drinks. Friendly staff, but very slow service.
Overall, it’s a decent place, but not without its flaws. I’d give it a solid 3 stars — better furniture and quicker service would definitely help.

Dinner was great! We started dinner with a piece of the delicious carrot cake. All three of us really enjoyed our meals. Well u have to wait in a line out the door and around the corner. Only for them to tell you after u have got to the front that they're at capacity and you have to find your own table before they will take your order. So people that havnt waited go and grab all the available tables while you've been patiently waiting, and then try to cut everyone in line because they already have a table. And the restaurant just lets them! There is no sign or anything posted to tell you this.
Then we ordered a carne asada breakfast burito and chilaquiles, and 3 coffees.
They gave me 3 mugs and told me to get my coffee at the coffee station. Which is completely blocked by all the people waiting in line, and when I get over there coffee is empty.
So I tell the counter guy and he brings 3 coffees to my table, all of these coffees are filled with hard floating coffee grounds, like filled!!! So manager comes over and we get 3 new coffees.
But no cream and sugar, wrestled my way back to their coffee bar, cream is out.
Food comes my carne asada breakfast burrito is literally 5 slices of meat and a small amount of black beans a few potatos and then 50 pieced of grilled onions. That's it. Basically onions wrapped in a burrito.
My husband's chilaquiles were tasty but it's was chips sauce and some eggs. A tiny tiny tiny crumble of chorizo?

Since August 2023, Seasons has been under the helm of a new chef. If you look at recent reviews, you will see that there are those who preferred the old Seasons under Chef Shideler (modern American cuisine) and those who prefer Chef Balagian, who has pivoted to a “Middle Eastern-inspired California cuisine”. Personally, I love the new reincarnation of Seasons and think it has become one of the better upscale restaurants in town.
I would note though that the restaurant’s description is not exactly accurate as the chef also serves some Italian-inspired dishes that probably tap into her experience at the high-end Italian restaurant, Allora (Sacramento). In addition, some Moroccan and Georgian (the country not the state) dishes make appearances as well.
We ate a variety of dishes, but the lamb muhammara app was the stand-out - the muhammara was rich and tangy, the lamb was melt-in-your-mouth soft, even the little side of arugula was fresh and well dressed. The dish is not cheap ($28), but the appetizer is big enough for several people to share. The batata harra (Lebanese spicy potatoes) mezze was also very good - like spicy, herby home fries. For entrees, we ordered the branzino (gigantic, charred in a good way, moist, delicious), the goat tagine (not served in a tagine, but super rich with many layers of flavors) and a vegan pizza (a special being served for a local competition - really delicious crust with an interesting combination of mushrooms, eggplants, onions). I would just caution diners with the portions of some of the dishes as some of them are really generous in size (e.g. branzino, muhammara).
I think the wine list has also improved which is nice to see, but it’s even better that their markups continue to remain reasonable - it’s hard to find places that sell wine for 2x retail these days. I also appreciate that the chef is also taking the opportunity to showcase her Armenian heritage by including an Armenian beer and a wine on the list as well. My only complaint here is that they should add vintage information to all the wines and avoid typos - just a pet peeve of mine, but it’s also bad optics.
The decor remains the same - airy, modern, open-kitchen, pleasant. Technically, it’s on the first floor of the Hilton Garden Inn, but you would never know it. Unfortunately, just like the old Seasons, the outdoor seating faces a parking lot and G street. I think something like bamboo blinds and maybe some hanging pots with plants…or frankly anything…would really improve the ambiance of the patio, but that’s just me.
Personally, I think that Seasons has vastly improved under Chef Balagian - hopefully, she will continue to make the dining experience even better.
PS Hey - Hilton. Update your website and show Chef Balagian some respect by updating the Hilton Garden Inn Davis website. It’s been 10 months.

One of the best spots in the area, Seasons is a treat featuring high quality sustainable food, but you’ll definitely have to foot one of the highest bills in town. - After closing for a bit during pandemic and then reopening recently, it is easy to see that Seasons has leveled up into a modern and fully featured restaurant.
With a good range of dishes but an unpretentious menu size, you’ll get enough to fit any palate or diner’s needs, but not a Cheesecake Factory’s worth of options. I don’t know why you’re dining at a higher end sustainable restaurant if that’s what you want. Seasonal fare changes often, things run out, dishes cycle on and off menu - again that’s the whole point.
So when we went and were told something we ordered was out of stock and we could get a more expensive thing for the same price, that was a lovely surprise. The servers were attentive but didn’t hover and were really very efficient and friendly. Honestly much more personable and entertaining than you’d normally see in a bigger place or closer in toward the bay / Sacramento.
The lamb, steak, and pork are all favorites for entrees and the parsnip soup was delectable, earthy without being bitter… all around a very nice way to start an evening. I thought plating for dessert was a bit weak but it was very strong for the other courses, so that’s a bit odd. Flavors all hit very good notes and there wasn’t really a weak item on our list to complain about. Would certainly return.
High marks for service flexibility and friendliness, clean modern decor, COVID safe outdoors with heat lamps for the cold (yay!), and excellent food.
You’ll spend $50-70 a person to get drinks / apps / entrees, or more - plus tips and all that jazz, but I think the what’s at stake in exchange is generally a good value. 4.8/5.

This place has been revamped with a new lighter and smooth decoration that creates a nice ambience. The food is of good quality and tasty. The portions are reasonable. Service was great when we visited. They have a patio area with heaters or sprinklers for the “changing” Davis weather (you know what I mean). Price is a bit high though, which is not uncommon these days, but still a shock as the dining experience is not that different than in any other good and reasonable above average restaurant. Worth visiting when I’m Davis, though. Also, perhaps one of only a handful of good restaurants in Davis at the moment.

My wife and I were celebrating her birthday and visited Seasons on a last-minute reservation.
Parking: A garage with 3 hour parking is directly across the street. We parked on the top level where there were several empty spaces.
Inside: We learned the restaurant was recently renovated and everything looked fresh, clean, and modern. We were greeted by a helpful hostess and guided to our incredible corner booth table.
Service: Our waiter, Brad, was funny and helpful. He shared the specials and made gluten-free recommendations for my wife.
Food: My wife absolutely loved the highly praised Zinfandel Braised Beef Short Rib with wasabi whipped potatoes. She sneaked me a couple bites and it was delicious. I enjoyed my Ribeye Steak with chili Colorado sauce fries. It was cooked perfectly.
Dessert: The gluten-free deconstructed Avocado Key Lime Pie was the perfect balance of sweet and tart. They even added a candle to the plate and wisher her Happy Birthday. My Bread Pudding was literally excellent.
It will be easy to recommend this restaurant to our friends and we look forward to returning!

Wow, seriously…my new favorite place to eat in Downtown Davis. Not only do they have great pizza, but they have an amazing atmosphere smack dab in the middle of downtown. You can get pizza by the slice or just the whole pizza. They have a special on weekdays from 11-2 that gives you all you can eat pizza for like 12.95. They had hot, fresh yummy pizza for all three big slices I ate. Two pepperoni and one cheese. They have a RANCH sauce station so you can go get your fill of ranch whenever you want. If you’re in Downtown Davis, don’t miss this local favorite. ESPECIALLY if you love pizza like I do.

This is a corner location on 3rd and G street in Davis, Ca. The section of G Street between 2nd and 3rd street was closed for cars shortly after the COVID lockdown to allow the restaurants to have seating areas in the street as extension to the indoor space.
Unfortunately, it now became a station for overnight homeless people from what seems to be out of town homeless visitors with their carts full of belongings.
Aside from the unpleasant scene outside the restaurant, stepping inside Woodstock was pleasant. The atmosphere was inviting. There was a line to order. We ordered, took our drinks, and picked a table. The place was clean.
We shared a big size strawberry salad and a large pizza with 3 toppings (jalapeño, sun dried tomatoes, and artichoke hearts). The salad came within 15 minutes, but the pizza took about 40 minutes to arrive. If you arrive too hungry, you’ll complain! The sizes were generous.
The service was ok, nothing extraordinary.

Woodstalk's is one of our favorite places in town. It has a fun, open, colorful decor and atmosphere. The server are usually friendly and helpful and the pizza is taste great. Let me start by saying — best margarita EVER. You’d think it’s easy to make one, right? Usually you taste either too much tequila or too much sweet & sour. But not Molly’s! Her margarita was flawless — so smooth and balanced that I couldn’t taste either one separately, just perfection in a glass. And yes, the tequila was definitely in there (my “tequila words” gave that away 😅).
Now the food… wow. The burger and chicken sandwich were absolutely outstanding — juicy, flavorful, perfectly balanced with no ingredient overpowering the other. Honestly, it was one of the best culinary surprises I’ve had in years. The chef deserves to be on a cooking show — that’s how good it was.

Honestly one of the best gems I’ve found lately. I just stumbled upon this and wow. They offer sandwiches, coffees, other small cafe items all at a low price point. Their coffees are 3-6$. And sandwiches are all under 10$.
Our server was very polite and friendly. He immediately made us our coffees and hand delivered our meals to us once they were made.

This is my favorite business in Davis. I am sad to see that they have reduced the size of their food menu drastically. This is probably the only restaurant in Davis that you can get a meal under $10. It is so full of whit and charm. I never noticed their free library, as well as the books for sale on the wall. They have delicious tea and the avocado toast was simple yet satisfying. I visited Delta of Venus while in Davis for a brief work trip and fell in love! It’s a perfect college town coffee shop, complete with shelves of books to borrow or purchase. They made me an impeccable oat milk cappuccino and just look at this yogurt bowl! Their house-made granola is to die for and their selection and preparation of fresh fruits was so thoughtful and wonderful. Based on other reviews, it seems they’ve dramatically reduced their menu in recent months, but I hope they will expand it again in the future. He was super nice and accommodating to my special modifications on my dogggggg. The dogs we ordered were more than what we expected from a hot dog. 👍 the price is worth the fancy hot dog. They make a really good chili dog. It’s a really small spot with outdoor seating. The people are very friendly. The hours were extended recently. The prices are so steep though! I’d come back a lot more if they could get the prices down. It feels like a lot for what you get which is admittedly very good. Got the BBQ tri-tip sandwich, delicious!!! Sweet potato fries were great. While it was a little pricey for the sandwich, there was a lot of tri-tip so it was worth it. Ordered through Toast which was super convenient. Our order was ready before we arrived. Located in a small shopping center with many places to eat, snack, and shop from. Plenty of parking. I walked in, there was maybe 3 tables occupied. Two people at the register, I walked up and asked for my order under my name. I also had 'urban fries', they were okay, but not nearly as flavorful as the salad. We ordered one menu that comes with Pancake and we were not that hungry and thats why we ordered one menu. The food was good as usual. We asked another plate to share and it comes with dirty condition; it looks like some food was plated and removed after so there was moisture and oils on it. First time eating here on July 4th. They were one of the few restaurants open on the holiday. Our waitress was a doppelgänger of Reese Witherspoon. Spoke and looked like her. Anyway didn’t catch her actual name but she was probably one of the best waitstaff we have had in a very long time. She was very attentive to everyone that she was attending too. The food was good! Wow! I went to local kitchens for the first time last week in Sacramento and I was blown away and kept thinking about the Birria tacos. So today on the way home from the Bay area, I stopped in at local kitchens in Davis before all of the crazy traffic on the causeway. I didn't want to be starving sitting in traffic today.
I ordered the same thing: Birria tacos, the Strawberry Matcha Latte Boba drink and something new today was the fried cauliflower. The fried cauliflower blew me away! the spices, the flavor, the sauce. It wasn't greasy. It was perfectly fried and the chimichurri sauce.( I think that's what it was that was, excellent.)
The Birria tacos were even better than the ones in Sacramento because they had more meat. This is quickly becoming my favorite lunch spot! The only nitpicks I have is with the boba drink. The straws they use are terrible. They break as soon as you insert them into the drink and if you're lucky they will last through your whole drink because they will crack. The other nitpick was only with the boba drink in that I didn't get enough oat milk, but that didn't detract from how great the food was.

If you dont know where to go you go to Local Kitchens because they have everything from pizza to matcha to cake to chicken to burgers. The staff is always attentive and friendly and the area is super nice to just sit outside at night and chill.

I hadn't been here since my college days, like 25 years ago. I remembered this burger to be incredibly delicious. However, things do change, and it wasn't the way I remembered. Though the burger was good, there was way too much bun for the 1/3 lb patty. Since my husband ate his 1/2 lb burger with only half the bun, I guess there was too much bun for his liking as well. Flavor was good, but it could have been better if there was a crust on the meat. The handcut fries were really good. We shared a chocolate banana malt, and that was super delicious. Called in my order and they told me I should come in the next 20 minutes to pick up my order. I arrived 20 minutes later, and they told me it would be another 5. I had to wait another 15. In total, 35 minutes for 2 burgers and fries. The burger had a bun too large for it, and the meat was not seasoned. I thought it would be cool to be able to try out their bison burger, but it had no taste. They used a lot of mayo to cover up for the lack of flavor. OMG!!! Redrum Burger has a 1 lbs Burger called "The Annihilator" burger... I could have attacked and beat up that kind of burger back in the days of Physical Fitness when I was younger. Trying this place for the 1st time ever in more than 20 years, traveling back and forth between Roaeville and other work sites outside the Yolo Causeway. Nestled across the street frim In & Out Burgers.
They have outside eating area and inside dining room. Got the 1/3 pound Burger with all fix'ns , add Avocado. The burger appears to be Fried Pressed as it is not uniformly shaped as a circle. Their standard Redrum Burger Meal comes with Shoestring style fries. These fries are limp but plentiful. They have free drink refills from behind the counter.
Sadly, Redrum Vurgers don't have a Veterans or Military discount 😏😒😟.

Been to this location two times. Both times were great experiences. Staff is great, restaurant is pleasing to enter, family friendly. You can grab a beer at the place next door and bring it to the food side. The chili fries are yummy, taste a hint of cinnamon in the chili. The chili dog is so worth it. I had the spicy burger with an impossible patty(the way they cook the impossible burger is not like anything I have ever had). They make the patties crispy which is very delicious. They also have fresh squeezed lemonade. We will definitely be back and want to recommend this place to everyone. It’s nice for Davis to have a place like this.

Thank goodness for a top notch, inexpensive burger joint where the lines aren’t wrapped around blocks. Here they have plenty of parkin a nice outside patio, clean indoor sitting, homemade lemonade, STEAK FRIES (my fave), onion rings where the onion stays in its shell, burgers that aren’t picture perfect for instagram but it has that real homemade energy, little uneven and maybe not the prettiest but you know it’s about to slap.

This was our first time there. I have Celiac disease and I had read that they are one of the go to places in Davis for those with Celiacs. They were very accommodating, clean grill, and even the fries were gluten free. We even got my Son's 2 other chicken strips free because he has put it on wrong. We love this place. The staff is friendly and the food is TOPS! They have an AMAZING gluten free bun. My husband (who is not gluten free) has raved about everything he has tried so far too. We probably eat here every two weeks.
The space is wide open and tables are accessible for mobility devices users. My only complaint is that sometimes they have live music in the courtyard between the burger place and the bar next door, and it can be a little loud. We try not to go on a Friday or Saturday night. Or we get take out and bring it back during live music nights (and if that is your jam, the music is usually really

Great addition to the Davis burger scene. Roomy great atmosphere inside the restaurant, good value for price, and yummy food! Definitely worth a visit! I will be back.
Food: they serve burgers, hotdogs, fries, chicken sandwiches, and chili. I think this the only place in Davis that specializes in smash burgers. I got the deluxe smash burger (8.99) with an extra patty (2.99). It had a great classic burger taste and definitely hit the spot. The Nashville Hot Hoagie had a nice spicy kick but not super spicy. The meat was surprisingly juicy for how thick of a piece of meat it was. The chili was really nice and hearty, nice for a colder winter day. Fries were thick cut but still had a good crispiness to them.
Service: very friendly and answered all questions. You can either order at the front and wait for your food to be called (via text) or order at a kiosk near the entrance.
Atmosphere: the indoor atmosphere feels a bit like a cabin or outpost in the wilderness. The restaurant was very clean and felt open. There's a few arcade machines along the side.
