There was a small line out the entrance which instantly told me this was going to be good. The line moved quickly and my friend and I were walked down to the lowest desk to a two top right off the water. Just sitting there would have been 5 stars but then the food came. I decided on the pastrami Rueben because of the legendary dressing from the area it originated. How could I order something else?! The sandwich was the best pastrami Rueben I’ve ever had. Unlike a corned beef, the pastrami was thinly sliced and cooked to perfection. Perfect amount of sauerkraut and dressing on deliciously toasted on toasted marble rye bread. I could only eat half, the portions were large, but wanted to eat the whole thing because it was so good. The service was great and our waitress was so friendly and helpful. If you’re in Clayton and see a line at Bella’s, don’t let it stop you. It’s definitely worth the wait. Oh, and, the cocktails and pastries are the best on the river.

We told her we had a boat ride at 630 and she did her best to get us our food as fast as possible (we ordered pizzas and they do take a bit of time , so I wouldn't order if your short on time) so we didn't miss our boat ride. She was very friendly and stopped by several times to assure us that we wouldn't miss our boat ride. I ordered the popper pizza and it was honestly some of the best food ive had in a LONG time. It was so good, I burnt my tounge trying to eat it quickly! On the boat ride my husband and I kept talking about eating the rest of our pizza when we got home. My husband got today's special which he also said was fantastic. I cannot wait to go back!

But really the service and the atmosphere are what really make this place memorable. They somehow made us feel like a part of the local crowd and everyone just kind of acts like they know you and make jokes and laugh with you. We tried some other places while in Clayton and came right back here. I would get the Cajun dry rub wings and my wife would get the potato skins or the fish. Upon arrival Channelside was the first place I went to. I had the Shrimp Scampi, salad and chocolate cake for desert. Everything was 6 stars. Everything was fresh and homemade. This place shines in everyday. My waiter was Dan, and his Hawaiian shirt in October and charisma matched the quality of food and bought everything together. I went to many other eating establishments and Channelside was the only one I visited twice. There really is nothing critical to say about Channelside and if you visit Clayton this needs to be on your list. This was also the first time I could not finish a desert...the deserts are an entree themselves. The best thing, if its not made from scratch then its sourced locally ..a small buisness supporting small buisness. Channelside, keep it up and don't change! Also the prices for waterfront dining is not unreasonable.

Sadly however it doesn’t look like Lyric is the spot for that. The syrups are all shipped in, the pastries look like they were frozen and shipped in to bake morning of, and the menus and atmosphere mimic a chain coffee shop. Very little to speak to the unique area around them. Their coffee is roasted in house but is still not flavorful or smooth. The coffee tasted overly sweet, and bitter - even after I asked for less sweetness so I can’t imagine how sweet it tastes with full sweetness added. The experience here was quite interesting with mixed emotions. Though the hours are limited through the week to get in and enjoy the food, it is worth trying or coming back to for more. This may of been a one off experience and still wanted to share as it could help you determine trying this place. With a 15 minute wait to get seated in a almost empty restaurant started making seem like the time here was going to be a bad decision. The server was scattered and not attentive to detail, but with a help of another patron waiting on table seating found a seat at the bar. The bar was full with lots of mimosas and a server that was going many directions. It took an additional 45 minutes to get the order placed with the bar server. Ordered a drink from the bar while waiting to order food and received the drink in a few minutes. I also ordered a water that the bar server forgot about but I was able to get the main server to give the water to me when she was getting other waters for another table. I was able to hear from a couple locals that the food was amazing so it got me excited to hang around and wait to order. After I finally got my order in I found out the server was on her first day and the bar server was trying to manage everything. I received the food after another 45 minute wait. The food was worth the wait. Since the kitchen was out of chorizo for the tacos I ordered the chicken tacos. The tacos with crispy chicken, jalapeños, corn, and sauce was delicious. The tortilla shells had been warmed and crisped up so they had the perfect crack and chewiness to them. The waffle fries were not too crispy, but acceptable. The plating was nice and the food was filling. This experience was not entirely good, but waiting for that food was worth it as it was enjoyable. The total time at the restaurant was 2.5 hours. I want to try this restaurant again though this was a tiring experience and service was good but it too way too long for a plate of food. If you have the time with friends and family come try this place. They have limited hours so make sure you can make it for dinner on the weekend or brunch on Sunday. I hear the breakfast is amazing and the lunch I had was worth coming back to try more menu options. And if you are traveling through Clayton this restaurant is a great destination. Like they took an old dirt parking lot and storage building at the end of town And some genius said let's put a restaurant here. ( Do note the sarcasm). I would have overlooked this if it had fabulous food. I'm having a hard time finding good food in alexandria bay anymore. The crab cakes were just so so, and they were supposed to be on quinoa and purple rice.. With a Citrus topping. No one said spicy.. I have food allergies and meticulously comb the menus. First there was no quinoa and the rice was plain sticky white and they threw on a blackened corn salad which had finally chopped peppers that i'm allergic to. And the citrus topping was very hot 'spice 'wise which means cayenne or tobasco which are both from peppers. Needless to say I was ill that night and the next day. My partner had the walleye with coleslaw and fries. The slaw in an oversized medicinea cup .. Maybe a tablespoon!? Average fries. Fish, same as mine . So so. My drink was okay.It was a mixed drink, but they served the beer in plastic cups.I mean come on now. The whole dinner was a bad memory. We'll not be back. Servers were fine and pleasant. Prices were high for what we were served.

We had a look at the menu and were in the mood for pub fare. My wife ordered the loaded nachos which were anything but. She did ask for to hold the ground beef but it came with nacho processed melted cheese and the toppings were not as loaded as advertised. I ordered a reuben on marbled rye. The sandwich was quite nice and was loaded with meat. The only downside was the sauerkraut was not drained properly prior to making the sandwich and it made for a soggy bottom of my sandwich.
