Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The chicken had bone in it, including small sharp shards that made the meal unsafe to eat. I ended up throwing the entire salad away. This kind of oversight is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about food safety and preparation standards. I have eaten here many times before, but after this incident I am genuinely questioning whether I would eat from Cafe Rio again. It feels like the standards have dropped recently and that is a real shame. Edit 10/06/2025: Cafe Rio reached out quickly claiming they wanted to make things right, but all I got was a canned reply promising a response in five business days. They just wanted to appear to do the right thing in the hope I would just move on and to make them look as if they care in the response to this review. There was a short wait for a table. We ordered Cheddar Bacon Fries as an appetizer. They were good. I ordered the Avocado Bacon Chicken Pounder (crispy) and fries. I could understand if they were busy but they weren't. I did pick up some wonderful peppermints and a delightful toothpick on the way out. The peppermints, toothpick, and Bacon fries were the highlight of the meal.

Overall, it was decent - but just not my favorite. I had a primerib steak burger combo. To me, it could use lettuce and a tomato to balance out the saltiness. As for the shoestring fries... they weren't my favorite... the first shoestring fries I've ever had that weren't just a soggy brick. They were crispy and all but so tiny they were hard to eat and didn't pick up much sauce due to to being so short and not having any surface area for sauce to stick to. So good. We went to an early dinner before the rush, and boy did it fill up fast. Popular with the locals. We each got the 16 oz rib eye special. Great price for a rib eye special ! This was a 30 dollar plate, 75 bucks for two with a third choice beer. I have absolutely had better prime rib meals for 10 bucks at a small town casino. This whole experience was so ridiculous it was beyond complaining….you just laugh, pay your bill, move on and hope you can possibly warn anyone else from making the same mistake.

Glazed & Grilled exceeded all expectations. There's a variety of burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, kids options and a few other entrees. The portions are perfect for a hungry adult and the price is very reasonable. The soda machine has many varieties. The french fries are hand cut and perfectly salty and crispy, and the fry sauce is spot on for Utah. The chicken tenders are hand dipped (though the ranch served left something to be desired). The bread for the burgers and sandwiches is incredible! Everything is made to order so it takes some time but it's definitely worth it. We've tried several donut varieties and they were all delicious as well. This will definitely be the place I recommend friends and family come to if they're passing through or stopping in Vernal. My family called in an order of 2 Swiss Mushroom Sandwiches, and a Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich, with 3 fries and 3 drinks. All was good on the phone, they told us 15min wait time. After driving to the restaurant, paying for and picking up the order we returned home and realized the Philly Cheesesteak was missing. We hastily returned to the restaurant in hope of receiving the missing sandwich. Unfortunately the lady that helped us informed us that she mistakenly forgot to mention that they were unable to make the Philly Cheesesteak tonight. We asked for a hamburger that was equivalent to substitute. And we received the smallest cheapest hamburger on the menu. Keep in mind on the menu the Philly Cheesesteak is $12.99, we received a basic hamburger at $3.59, and no additional refund was offered. Very disappointing to say the least. (Just to be clear we were not charged for the substitution, mentioned price is a reference.) Besides being a little cold after all the running, there were no complaints about the Swiss and Mushroom sandwiches, and the fries with their fry sauce were great! I would also like to mention that when brought to their attention management did reach out to ensure the issue will be addressed and taken care of.
