And that's exactly what this visit was. The environmen is inviting and offers up a lot of conversation starters. The food is the same menu items that you come to expect here. The quality just is not the same as I remember. Eeyore been around a long time and agrees. The beer chili was very runny and far from the great bold flavor it once had. The chicken parm was overly fried, so a bit dry and too crisp. The lasagna was okay, but the noodle was a bit slimy so the prep was lacking. And the pasta, the meat sauce was okay although the spaghetti was a repeat of the lasagna noodle, too slimy/ wet. The added sausage, goes with the overcooked theme. Overall, it's still okay. But this place should be better than just okay. At one time this location and a few others I been were all 5 star establishments with great food quality. Now it's the low end of a 3 star and on a slippery slope to a 2 star rating.

The food is amazing! Layered flavors and well sized servings. We started with the bread with herbs and olive oil for dipping - delicious! Then we shared Caesar salads. The service was top notch with very friendly and attentive staff. They even cleaned the table itself a bit between courses. The garlic bread was great! Definitely worth ordering as an appetizer and fun to eat. And the caesar salad was delightful. The main courses (filet and chicken) were good but very simple and needed salt & pepper. I would have liked the food to have more unique flavors. It was good, high-quality food but I felt like it could have stood out more. Nothing that made me feel like I could only get it at Roost. The Alfredo was amazing!! So was the chicken parmigiana. The garlic in the shrimp scampi and on the garlic knots, was not cooked down enough making the garlic still having a bitter garlic taste. She handed me couple of tissues to wipe someone else's mess to start with. We placed order for salad and soup for my wife and Kids meal mac and cheese and fries for kids , Marcello and Frritters it. The Salad, fritters and kids meal came quickly, fritters were fresh, mac n cheese was good but the side of fries lacked salt. Soup amd Marcello took a a while to come but turned out tasty. Over all good Olove garden experience minus the service.

Our group of 4 was very happy with this choice. We got in quickly with less than a 15 min wait on a Saturday night. Our server was fantastic! When I contacted the store I was told that, "if I returned 100% of the pizza I could have my order remade." I find that absurd and my fiance in the backround expressed the same thing, the man on the phone proceeded to tell me he didn't like the talking in the background and began arguing aggressively with my fiance in the background. Not only has the quality of the food I've received been poor but so is the customer service. I will not be returning to this location again.

The sauce was bland; the capers being the only thing with flavor. It completely lacked lemon. My hubby asked if there was a drink menu. The bartender or server whatever he was he didn’t introduced himself as anything he looks down and without an ounce of customer service and says “no not really.” What?! When I tell you my husband and I looked to each other and without a second thought stood up and walked out. I tip very well even when service isn’t the absolute best but for us to just want to walk out because the environment was not inviting the staff did not care about their job whatsoever. No fake smiles and no helpful advice. We were their inconvenience. So we took that inconvenience of cash right out that door.

Then, I ordered the baked ziti for an entree and my husband had the baked ravioli as an entree. They both came out boiling hot. The garlic bread was great, but wow, I can’t believe how hot they were….so hot that the marinara sauce was like water. Once we gave everything enough time to cool down, the flavors started to come together. Overall, everything tasted good. I wouldn’t have minded some additional options like spinach or red pepper flakes to make the dish stand out. My dish was only ziti noodles, sauce, and cheese…although the dish didn’t have meat, that doesn’t mean it couldn’t have some pizazz, like some Calabrian chiles or something. We ended the meal with some cannolis, which were great. I will say that they didn’t have to use Hershey’s chocolate sauce on them…cannolis are great without that! We got lasagna, veal parmigiana and fettuccine with a couple salads. The service for ordering and pickup was great. And the dining area was quaint. The meals were just ok. The eggplant parmesan was the best I have had in Dayton. The salmon wasn't fishy at all. It was flaky and the sauce was exactly what I hoped it would be. We’ve both had scallops before so I know it’s not an allergy or anything. Not trying to bash the place just want them and others to be aware. We probably should’ve paid more attention to the strong smell coming off the food when we first got it because both our pastas come in SEALED containers so there’s no reason the smell should’ve been that strong but that was our first clue the food wasn’t right. We love Olive Garden but probably won’t return to this location ever again cause that’s just dangerous.

She is an probably a late 20's blonde woman and I noticed the long fake acrylic nails she wears while working. This employee has an unprofessional attitude toward your customers. I believe and understand that people have a bad day sometimes but with this being an issue every time I come in, it’s ridiculous. Compared to how I’ve been treated by others, I’ve never had somebody be passive aggressive and roll their eyes over me simply for walking in to get in line and feed my kids and sticking to a classic recipe Finally, I value Piada’s food and service nonetheless. This 4.8 is well deserved, however I’m shocked it isn’t rounded up to the 5 star given the caliber Grist operates at. Highly, highly recommend. The atmosphere and revival of that space in the Dayton arcade is simple but very well done—dark, chic industrial with a bright beautiful bar, with some seating into the arcade rotunda. Walking in, you’re met with strings of lights in every direction and set of tables to accommodate parties of all sizes. We sat down in a simple booth for two in a quiet corner of the restaurant. The menu is fairly simple, with selections of Italian starters, pasta dishes, pizza and New York rolls. Not having a large menu to us is a good sign. If you’re going to take the time to do things right, the smaller the menu, the better. After perusing for a few minutes, we decided on two items to taste and share. 1) Eggplant Parmesan w/ pasta (spaghetti with meat sauce) 2) Pizza with Peeperoni, Sausage, and Green Pepper Let’s get to the good stuff… The pizza was thin and crispy, light and flavorful, and simply delicious. For those of you who like pizza that’s more bread, chewy from too much dough, and one that fills you up after one slice, this isn’t for you. If your hope is a pizza that lets the flavor of the cheese, sauce and toppings shine through, one that uses a thin crispy vehicle of delightful dough, then this is your winner. Costing about $25 for a 14-inch disc of delight, it’s more than enough for a few folks. The Eggplant Parmesan was a different experience altogether. Lightly fried and covered with a light tomato sauce and cheese, this meaty vegetable was a true treasure. The pasta was equally tasty resulting in a delightful combination. What made this place truly special was Susan, our host for the evening and the individual who arrives at 7AM daily to prep everything from scratch.
