Decent pizza place in the heart of Byron Bay, good menu, inside & outside eating available. No alcohol as it is BYO, but that isn't an issue for us service was efficient as the place was very busy, both eating in & takeaway.
Our pizza was mushroom, cheese & parama ham, base was nice although was a little soggy in the middle due to the tomato sauce. The crust was fresh & tasty.
Kids menu is limited with only a small Margarita available, but was a good size & fresh when it came out. I would recommend it as the food is nice, I would say more suited to an early family dinner or takeaway.

Had a great pizza for dinner tonight. It’s only very small pizzeria but the outside tables only add to the atmosphete. The pizza was absolutely delicious and although they dont normally do it, they accommodated us with a 1/2 1/2 pizza due to conflicting taste on having slow cooked pork belly!! We had the calamari entrees which was great and then gnocci and mushroom pasta which were both great.

Loved this place. Alessio and the team were great hosts and the food was by far the best we’ve experienced in Byron Bay. The menu is well thought out and if you cannot decide just take their recommendation. For diners that are into their wines, the list is outstanding. If you’re planning to visit, definitely make a booking—but don’t expect it to save you from a lengthy wait. When we arrived, the place was understandably busy, but there were four clearly vacant tables in view. Despite this, we were asked to stand to the side while those with reservations were seated (fair enough, we could have booked). However, it took 30 minutes to seat those customers, and after 45 minutes, we were finally seated—at a table that had been empty and just a meter away from us the entire time.
Halfway through our wait for food, it became apparent that regular customers receive noticeably better treatment, with staff being warm and friendly toward them. Unfortunately, everyone else seems to be treated as second-class.
We ordered a couple pizza’s which were nice and doughy which I personally like.
Overall average, if front of house service improved this place would definitely be five stars.

The food here is sensational! Everything is freshly made - the sauces, the pasta and the pizzas. I could not fault the quality. The only thing I would suggest is adding another person to the roster. Our poor waitress (who did a fantastic job!) was run ragged. It was a great night and thanks for having us. As a local we will see you again for sure!

My husband & I came for dinner on Sunday night. Sitting outside on the balcony. Love the decor & atmosphere of this place, cozy & pretty.
We had the chilli Moreton bay bug pasta, spiced chicken & fries. Everything was so good, especially the bay bug pasta so tasty. The portion was quite generous to share for 2 persons. We were so full. I also had their classic margarita, it’s perfect!
They have drag show on Sunday night, sadly we didn’t stay until the show start.
The staff were all lovely and polite. Highly recommended to come here if you visit Byron Bay.

Our Sunday dinner at The Balcony was far from the enjoyable experience we hoped for to end our weekend. We used to regard this restaurant as a fantastic venue and visited every time we were in Byron, but after tonight, we will not be returning.
Upon arrival, the receptionist attempted to seat us outside in the cold without asking for our seating preference. The waiter, a tall young man with a tattoo on his arm (I couldn't catch his name as staff were not wearing name tags), seemed disinterested, often looking up at the ceiling while we placed our order. Unsurprisingly, our bread was forgotten—though perhaps that was for the best.
My glass of rosé arrived warm and had an unpleasant, sour taste; I couldn't bring myself to drink it. The grilled snapper appeared and smelled questionable, so I opted not to take a chance and requested that it be returned to the kitchen. After consulting the chef, who indicated he couldn't offer a better option, I canceled the order. The second main dish, the pork cutlet, was not much of an improvement.
When we settled our bill, no one inquired about our experience or whether we enjoyed our meal. The service was disappointing, and the atmosphere felt quite dreary. It was evident that they were busy, likely due to many other restaurants being closed on Sundays, leaving patrons with few options.
I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money for a restaurant that values its customers and provides quality food and service.

The place is so cozy and the vibe is very relaxing. I love the interior design especially the central fireplace as a focal point. The food is sooooo delicious! It’s absolutely perfection! Our two visits felt like two different chapters — both enjoyable in their own ways.
Dinner with a Crowd
We were a group of 13, soaking up the lounge beats. Luckily our seats were behind the speakers, so we could actually hear one another and enjoy the atmosphere. Most dishes went down well; the pizzas looked lovely (my husband loved his) and there were a handful of tasty pastas and chicken salads. My grass-fed burger was underwhelming — a simple bun, patty, cheese, gherkin and a lonely lettuce leaf — and the fries arrived a little scattered and less crisp than I’d hoped. Cocktails and mocktails were a real highlight, bright and well balanced. One odd service quirk: drinks could be ordered via QR code, but food had to be ordered with a waiter.
Breakfast for Two
Breakfast was the star. We arrived early (8:30am) to a calm room with 80s pop in the air — exactly our vibe. The chia bowl and granola bowl were fresh and delicious, a perfect start to the day. Ordering beverages and breakfast via QR code was seamless, the coffee was delightful, and by 9:30 the place had gently come to life with other guests settling into the Treehouse mood. We left feeling relaxed and very happy.

$20 pizzas for lunch was a good deal, there was $20 pastas as well.

So anyway we ordered take away 2x pepperoni 2x margarita and 1 kids margarita, my daughter absolutely lost it when she seen it was shaped like Mickey Mouse best thing she’s ever seen,and probably the first time she’s ate a full pizza!
My pepperoni was an absolute 10/10 unreal flavours soft and crunchy every bite had flavour, the slight kick from the pepperoni was unexpected but an awesome twist to a standard pep.
The margarita was perfect also,not over complicated not trying to be anything more than what it is,great flavours!

We got some dinner. Service was very nice and friendly. Food was good, but there were some things missing. Pork was slightly dry and lacking flavour but if eaten with everything else on the plate it was nice. Octopus was perfect!! Fish of the day needed some more sauce, but the fish itself had a nice crisp texture on the outside. And the beef cheeks were super soft but also lacked some flavour, but yet again if eaten together with everything else it was delicious. I loved the sourdough bread the most because it had an amazing honey butter next to it! Overall delicious meal but overpriced a bit.

Having liked the look of the Roadside as I drove by, I decided to drop in for brunch one sunny morning, and I’m pleased I did. It’s a popular spot, but I was fortunate to find parking and an outside table where I could sit with my dog on the ground next to me. Staff were friendly and efficient. The wait time for my order was next to nothing. My flat white was strong, flavoursome and artistically presented. Oh my gosh, faultless incredible gourmet beautiful delicious food! The two main chefs are Brazilian who does all the chargrill nibbles/mains and Italian chef who makes the best woodfire pizza we have had….ever!
6 of us dined there and was our favourite meal of the trip. MUST go for dinner.

Food was good, rich but flavoursome. We had anchovies, eggplant, squid ink crab pasta, and affogato.

We called Slice Pizzeria in Byron Bay for a takeaway order, and they didn’t disappoint! The staff were super helpful over the phone, and the pizza was ready right on time when we arrived.
We took it back to our villa to enjoy, and as you can see from the photo — it looked amazing and tasted even better. We got a half-and-half pizza, with one side loaded with mushrooms, herbs, and cheese, and the other with BBQ chicken and that perfect hint of smokiness. The crust was crisp and nicely charred, just how a proper wood-fired pizza should be.

This is such an awesome place to have lunch. We drove all the way from the Gold Coast and it was well worth the effort. A fab venue for a casual Saturday lunch with lots of indoor and outdoor areas. They were able to accommodate our group of 12 without a booking. It had a lovely casual resort vibe and the food was yummy. There is a wood fire pizza oven and the pizzas were excellent. I especially loved the mushroom pizza, it was savory and juicy in all the best ways. Great venue for a lazy lunch!

We were told of this super venue in Byron Bay so thought we should check it out. It was FABULOUS. The setting is gorgeous, the food was spectacular and the beers were icy cold. The staff were friendly and the General Manager Jed- what a champion bloke. He took time to come and say hi and chat to us about the menu- he is also Head Chef. We will be back- to try more of the delicious food- we had the calamari, the prawns and the twice cooked potato with chorizo and the freshest Caesar salad I have ever eater. This place rocks!!!!! It was our first time at Hummingbird Bistro, and we absolutely loved every aspect of our experience. We visited on a Friday night for dinner and were seated at a lovely table for two inside. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with irresistible aromas wafting from the kitchen. The space is small and cozy, creating an intimate dining experience. The owner was a gracious and accommodating host, adding a personal touch to our evening.
For our mains, we ordered the fish and steak, accompanied by a side of roasted pumpkin. Every dish was absolutely delicious—clearly prepared with thought, passion, and care. Genuinely the best food I’ve ever had! My family and I came here for my birthday late last year on a recommendation and we were blown away by how incredibly delicious every single plate of food was. We ate pretty much one of all the entrees. The steak tartare was definitely my favourite. And the mussels were so so delicious! The cafe is tiny, and a large table of 10 came in, so they apologised profusely for the slower-than-expected service, as well as offering two complimentary arancini balls, which were to die for.
