We booked a meal deal through the Premier Inn, 2 cause meal & breakfast, how ever there was a additional charge for the mixed grill, which featured on the front of the meal deal leaflet, very misleading. The Brewers Fayre was under staffed, only 3 ladies on a Saturday night, it was very busy. My meal was barely warm but went cold very quickly when the staff they blocked opened the doors so the people could watch the fireworks, which made the restaurant feel very cold. The desert looked nice, but had very little taste. I complained to Premier Inn who refunded part my payment.

Popped in for their £5 lunchtime deal which for us was a pizza turnover with what was for me one of the best pizza doughs I have had for a long time. We returned for an evening meal the next day trying the Lasagne and garlic bread which was again excellent. Service was also spot on ,so if you are holidaying down in Minehead then I recommend you support this great local independent restaurant. I only wish I knew their pizza Dough recipe so I could make it at home as sadly Minehead is a long way from home for me.

The phone line dropped and they called me back to say I was trying to make money out of them, over a couple of missing portions of onion bhajis and a couple of mains. The large order was placed a week in advance and I paid a deposit. I called them on the day to amend the order as a couple of guests couldn't attend our celebration, double checked over the phone everything, asked to check on pick-up to be told everything was in order and no need to check. To be called back to be offended and then told I would get a refund on half of the missing items as a goodwill gesture is really a new level of customer service I never want to experience again. Mistakes happen but to be telephoned back to be called a liar is outrageous. Refunding of food that was never fulfilled is NOT goodwill! AVOID! Check other reviews on missing items and service. *EDIT: To add insult to injury, they have now charged me AGAIN for half of the missing food rather than the purported refund, so I've paid £11.90x2 for two missing portions of bhajis.

The pub itself had a great feel about it, the kids loved the secret sliding door to the underground restaurant. We were told check out was 10:00 but when we went fo hand our keys in everywhere was locked up. While trying to return the keys somewhere an old couple walked past and offered there wisdom "there's no one there till 13:00" so 1) why did we have to be out so early 2) what were we supposed to do. Once this week and once last year. Both times the food was great. Ive eaten at a lot of Italian restaurants and for what this place is, its pretty good. Speaking on behalf of my most recent visit. The waiter was young and fairly new i expect but very polite and couldn’t fault him. Food was spot on, we both had pizza and they where very good! As good as i would expect from a high class restaurant. The garlic bread wasn’t on the same level as the pizza but wasn’t bad. Overall, you get what you pay for. Good food with good polite service at a reasonable price. A very strong 4 star and i even left a tip (i have to be very happy to do so)! Definitely would go again for a third visit.

We found this place when we googled vegan food in Minehead. Was not expecting to see such a great little menu in a small chippy in Minehead!! We ordered 5 portions of the vegan 'fish' (banana blossom) all with chips....we were stuffed! And we have big appetites! Honestly, regardless of whether you are vegetarian/vegan or not, this is one of the best places to eat in Minehead. The choices on the menu are such that you don't miss meat and fish. The standard menu offers burgers, quesadillas and sandwiches among other things, and the daily specials offer things like curries, pies and soup. Plenty of vegan options are available. Prices across the board are good- you can get a lunch meal with a drink for approximately £10 a head. Given the generous portion sizes and side salads (if anything, the portion sizes are too much) provided with each meal, and the quality of the food, this is great value. Drinks are often put aside in such restaurants that focus on food, but here this isn't the case. The smoothies are delicious (I particularly enjoyed 'Berrylicious') and the choco peanut frappé we ordered was a thing of beauty. Bit like Fawlty Towers. We booked on the phone for the dip and dine experience after seeing it online. The South African lady on reception on arrival was very polite. The 'spa' is a nostalgic throwback to pools i worked at in the 80s, concrete floors, dodgy showers and aged tiles around the jacuzzi and steam room. I found it funny, the wife did not when i promised her a spa day :) The dip and dine was £20 each and the price included money towards food in the restaurant after, i ordered the steak baguette and the wife ordered the white bait and chips. Again very nostalgic food served. Like the kitchen has been stuck in a time warp for the last 30+yrs. The steak was stewing steak not actual steak, it couldnt be ordered rare etc it all came the same as explained by the waitress who is also the same receptionist who greeted us on arrival, they probably make her do the cleaning too and turn the rooms when needed 😂 Its just took me back to meals served on hotels many many years ago, nothing essentially wrong with it, the white bait was in a thick crumb and had that deep fat fryer taste that reminds of everything else they cook in the same fryer before it. I actually really ejoyed the nostalgia of this hotel as it reminded me of my childhood visiting grand parents at hotels for the weekend. The best feature was the receptionist who was ever so friendly and a superior multi tasker. I would love to return someday when we stay again nearby but i dont think I'll be able to convince the wife to join me.

Gym, pool, Jacuzzi & steam room. I've also stayed at the hotel on a few special occasions & have had friends and family stay here while visiting the area. My most common complaints, and ones I'm sure the staff hear often: Wellness centre entrance way, has signage informing guests to wear overshoes, but these are never available, so you have to take your shoes and socks off before gaining access to the gym facility, as this can only be accessed via the pool. Changing rooms - excessive amounts of dust and grime on the walls, floor & in air vents. Rusty shower rails and damaged furnishings. Broken clothing hooks. Broken locks on doors. Lockers - Missing keys and rusty unclean interiors, I noticed most patrons choose to leave thier belongings on the poolside benches instead. Gym - It would be nice if the staff used glass cleaner on the mirrors instead of just smearing antibac spray all over them, kind of ruins the feeling of wellness & cleanliness. Pool - Always clean and perfect temperature, but clearly in need of maintenance, as pool the lining is coming away from the pool wall & drainage grates are becoming hazardous to people walking on the poolside. Steam room - More like a warm damp room than a proper steam room, not much steam at all, feels more like I'm sitting next to the steam exhaust for the pools boiler room than a proper steam room experience. Hot tub - Regularly out of order, but very enjoyable when operational. It would be nice if staff could inform members before entering the facility if this is out of order, or place signage on reception for this purpose, as this is a regular occurrence. The whole wellness facility could do with a bit of TLC, proper cleaning & maintenance work. However, I really do enjoy using it often, and the staff are super friendly & helpful. The restaurant is superb! Clean with amazing quality, well thought out food options & friendly, helpful staff. This would be five stars if the wellness centre was kept to a higher standard of maintenance and cleanliness. Membership is currently £39 per month, I'd happily pay the extra pound if it meant the facilities were cleaned and maintained to a more higher/ expected standard.
