Upon arrival at the Water Meadow, it was nicely lit up in the dark, looked very welcoming and we were greeted by a gentleman, I assumed the Manager who was happy and showed us to our table, checked if we had an allergies or dietary requirements. He explained the ordering system using the QR code. As we wanted to customise one of our meals in a way the app wouldn't let us, i headed to the bar which is where the Manager approached me and said he'd take our order at our table. The food came out hot and well presented and was as expected. Drinks came out quickly and dessert came out promptly too. All staff we had contact with were polite, friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with the whole visit and commented on how well kept the venue is compared to others in the chain that we have visited in the past.

The building is gorgeous, having studied building conservation I have a particular love for older buildings and this really is a beautiful pub. The room was small and cosy, perfect for a one night stay. I did notice some damp on the ceiling above the shower, some cracks in the paint work around the window and on the ceiling but even with this it was a lovely room. I also loved the slanted floors, on one side of the bed you were walking slightly lopsided and personally I thought it was great! Anything like this just shows the character and age of these fantastic buildings, and I loved it! The room was lovely and toasty when we arrived. The personal touches were also fantastic, not only was the greeting pack addressed to us, but the radio was on and there were fresh chocolate chip cookies waiting, which were heavenly! I forgot to ask if they were made by their in-house kitchen staff, I was very tempted to see if they'd sell me some more!! After a non-alcoholic cocktail at the bar, which was delicious, we had a peaceful night's sleep and a lovely breakfast the next morning. The car park was a good size and completely free (please be aware it's only free for those staying overnight). The service was fantastic! The bar staff were lovely, and the Gentleman that arrived us in and sorted out our breakfast order was brilliant. He was clearly very busy but was kind, polite and considerate. I sadly didn't get his name but I believe he was the manager, and definitely deserves a raise!

I selected the Methuen Arms partly because my last employer had arranged work events there and they were similarly successful. The rooms were excellent - especially the one we stayed in - in the main building), the staff couldn't have been more helpful, the downstairs bar was really nice and the Green Room was a useful place for us to gather to play games. Breakfasts were really tasty with vegetarian options. We had a birthday dinner on Saturday night - most of us are Venison which was just delicious. Corsham is a lovely little town to visit and we found loads of places nearby - Corsham Hall and gardens, Lacock Abbey and Castle Combe to fill a weekend without even venturing to Bath. Many thanks to the staff at the Methuen Arms for making the stay so enjoyable.

Having been here before a few years ago, we were looking forward to a nice meal out. When we booked we added a note about my nut allergy and thought that everything would be fine. Upon arrival we were seated, asked about allergies and were given an allergen tablet. From the Sunday menu, the thing I wanted most was the pork roast which had a may contain nuts due to the stuffing, when our order was taken I asked for this meal but asked if they could withhold the stuffing due to my allergy. Every other item on the meal had no risk of nuts so this would have been fine for me. We were quite rudely told no, that’s not possible. When we asked why the abrupt answer is that they won’t modify meals for someone with an allergy and I would have to choose something else. The waitress went and asked the chef at our request who also refused to accommodate my allergy. I was told to either order something else, or order the meal and it will come with stuffing. Unfortunately we decided to take our business elsewhere, this is the first time I have had a restaurant point blank refuse to accommodate my allergy make changes to a meal, it was a very small request and if anything the meal would have been safer for me to eat. Given the item I didn’t want wasn’t a core item that couldn’t be removed this was ridiculous. If the staff in a restaurant are not willing to take allergies seriously then I won’t eat there as it’s an emergency waiting to happen. Thankfully we managed to call the Pheasant in Chippenham, who when we explained what had happened, were able to make room for us even though they were fully booked. If you want a better meal I would suggest not booking the Milk Churn and going to the Pheasant, better and more welcoming service, more pleasant atmosphere and nicer food!

We both ordered the Milano pizza - not too much veggie choice directly on the menu, but they do have gluten free and vegan options. From the first bite of this gooey, cheesy, tomato-y delight we were both enamored. It was just fantastic pizza. I usually avoid garlic - doesn't always agree with me - but this was smothered in garlic. It tasted just as good as it looked. It wasn't a small lunch time pizza either. So by the last couple of slices I did have to slow down... I, somehow, managed to fit the whole thing inside. Thankfully, they also do take away so I probably should have put the last few slices in a box... It was good though... Fairly busy when we arrived. Car park was mostly full. I find the owner and their staff to be very friendly. The food is really really good. You get plenty of meat in your kebab and the salad is always freshly made up. With plain mayonnaise, garlic mayonnaise or even hot sauce there is so much to add to the flavour you might like. The mixed kebab is huge and really tastes. The hamburgers, pizza’s are also very nice and hot from the oven they use. When I buy small chips there is always more than enough to share with a friend. As for the prices, they are comparable to many other kebab shops. Overall this kebab ticks all the boxes for me and I have no problems recommending this place for your takeaway meals.

While we were very excited to come visit on a family holiday, the hotel has a lot of potential but is run down with poor service. We were surprise by the state of the grounds and rooms initially. There was a lot of dust & cobwebs in our room, and leftover milk spills on and around the coffee machine. On our first night of a 3 night stay, the water went out, with several members of our larger party mid shower when it happened. When this occurred no updates or communication was provided to us as guests. We just had to wait several hours for it to be resolved. On day 2, the hotel seemed to run out of everything- they had no towels, no beer, no glasses to serve drinks in. Despite putting the placard on our door handle, our room was not serviced. When one member of our party went to ask for some more toilet paper, they were directed to the shared toilet on the main floor to get a small handful- no new rolls were offered. It honestly felt like the team there did not wish to provide service for our family. We didn’t think we were asking for too much . But they seemed to think running water, towels and toilet paper was beyond the scope of their responsibilities to provide. On the positive side, the pool was wonderful and the breakfast was good! The spot has enormous potential under different management, but we were extremely disappointed by the experience we had.

There aren't many dining options early in the week so I headed there Monday and had a chicken methi with green chillies and jeera rice (not on the menu and made at my request) - it was good. So good I went back Tuesday and had chicken Naga and chillies and jeera rice again. On this occasion I was looked after by a young lady with whom I did not stop laughing – it as a real fun evening (and I enjoyed the food again). By the third evening I was going to go elsewhere, but my intended destination had closed its kitchen early so I found myself back at the GS, this time for a chicken Achari and (the now usual) jeera rice. Again, a good meal which I enjoyed. The dishes I tried had a similar consistency but very varied flavours, and rice, well that was something I’d recommend to be put on the menu (if you’re reading this why not ask for it?)! If I find myself back in Melksham I will definitely be paying another visit (or visits) and if you’re thinking of a visit or an order I’d happily recommend it.

The energy wasn’t friendly when we walked in, it felt cold and stale. The lady behind the bar made me feel very unwelcome for bringing my toddler with me (it was 1pm on a Monday). We ended up drinking our drink quickly and leaving as we simply just didn’t want to be there after such a unfriendly and uncomfortable experience. We ended up going to the pub up the road called the Fox & Hounds which was so so lovely. The staff were so friendly warm and welcoming we sat talking to them for hours and our little one explored and played with the vintage cars they had in the garden. We also had some delicious food there which I rate highly. Such a shame I can’t say the same for the bell on the common.

This restaurant was surprisingly good. The food I had here was even more authentic than those I had in London. Pad thai striked the right balance of savory and sweet. The classic thai basil chilli fried rice was really good, I would say it’s better than most I had in Leeds, London and Manchester. The curry noodles is also nice if one likes rich thick broths. I like that it has a subtle hints of mango. Highly recommend if you want authentic Thai food around the area. Also a shoutout to the waitress who served us. The lovely young lady were chasing the customers who left their belongings in the restaurant once she noticed it. We received great service from her too. It was a really lovely meal. Thank you!

I've had thousands of Chinese meals all over the country but this is the one I come back to every time! Great food and great price.
