The food here is consistently great and I love that they have various specials. 6/5 delicious food, 5/5 service and the restaurant itself is really cute. I have tried a few desserts from here, my favourite being a banoffee pie with some sort of pastry base… I think about that banoffee a lot. The matcha is lovely from here, and I tried a protein milkshake. The food is a fantastic example of vegan food, people assume that because it’s vegan it is often lesser in some way but these dishes are perfectly crafted to leave you feeling full and satisfied. I tried some sort of butternut squash pasta, reluctantly, to discover it was incredibly delicious. I’d never have even thought to put these ingredients together or cashew in my mac and cheese but wow so tasty. There is something here for everyone too, burgers, flat breads, soup - all yummy and lots of variety.

Rustic decor, friendly service, fantastic breakfast and lunch menu, plus tasty, strong and fresh coffee. I ate here two days in a row. My breakfast on the first day was incredible. Second day for lunch was good but slightly less impressive as my carbonara was dry (it seemed like it had been reheated). I did advise this to the member of staff when she cleared away my table. That said, I would still eat it again though as it was super tasty and it's still worthy of 5 stars!! I'll probably ask for a bit of olive oil to drizzle on it next time if it's the same. My husband and I had booked the Valentine’s set meal and had arrived a little early, we were the first to enter but were greeted warmly and shown to our table. We enjoyed sipping some Valentines Cocktails whilst we waited on our food… Nibbles - EBI Senbei (prawn crackers) - huge crackers with a spicy mayonnaise type dip to go with them. To Start - Aigamo Gyozas (crispy duck dumplings with hoisin) & Heart-Shaped California Roll (Dorset crab meat, avocado and cucumber topped with tobiko, spicy may and tempura crumb). - Both were very tasty, the gyozas really crisp on the outside and the hoisin had a deep, strong flavour which was great. The California roll was really good, however they did fall apart really easily so you ended up with a good chunk of it in your soy dipping dish. To Follow - Tori Katsu Curry (chicken katsu with Japanese curry sauce) & Yakisoba (chicken, king prawns and vegetables stir-fried with ramen noodles). Now these 2 dishes were absolutely fantastic! The chicken katsu was SO crisp, we’ve not experienced such a crisp coating ever in chicken, whilst the chicken stayed succulent and the sauce was really flavoursome. The yakisoba had plenty of chicken and prawns and the vegetables were very fresh. To Finish - Matcha Platter For 2 (Two mini matcha brûlée, matcha mochi and matcha chocolate truffles). The brûlée was really creamy, although cold, the truffles smooth and intense and the mochi were incredibly cold (the centre was still a little frozen) and was so-so. Some improvement was needed here. After the Valentine’s cocktails we had a couple of pints of Drgnfly pilsner which was a very decent pilsner, with great taste and a smooth finish. Throughout the meal all servers were friendly, attention and smiling throughout the meal. Our main server was Karly and she was truly wonderful, so full of joy, nothing was too much trouble and she was enthusiastic about making sure you had everything to enjoy a great evening. Went in with our fingers crossed. Did not know what to expect in a town like Poole.But they did not disappoint. The food was at far with any good pan asian restaurant in larger cities. I love the way it spreads out & manages to maintain a feeling of warm-hearted hospitality. On this occasion I had a mushroom starter as a main course as I didn't have much of an appetite. Warmly greeted on arraival and shown to our table, which also seemed to show off the tardis like nature of the place, seemings bigger than the outside would suggest. A good range of ales as well as low to no options. The sunday menu is pretty much geared towards a traditional Sunday Lunch. Orders were taken and starters delivered within a reasonable time, the staff were attentive and the time between starters and mains pretty much bang on. The portions were generous, but not excessively so. I do have to mention the quality of the meat, excellently prepared and with a wonderful, thick, tasty gravy to pour over it and into the Yorkshire, top draw. The Old Thatch was busy, buzzing, but not to the point you would struggle with conversation. The question of do you want desert met with a smile. The location is beautiful, very cosy pub, dogs are welcome and we had a nice table in the corner for more comfort and peace. The food was really good, our friends were impressed about the burgers and the pies. Fish and chips was also fantastic. Prices as average pubs in the area. My only note would be on the service: I rarely met such a blunt and little welcoming waitress. Staff in Mc Donald's or Starbucks are far more smiley, nicer and kinder with their customers. Lots of really good parking and easy to get to. Tower park was a nice area before lockdown however it hasn’t lasted to well through lockdown. Tgis and chiquitos has shut down so the walk there is not the same atmosphere as tp used to be. Waiters were nice and as always let you take home what you didint finish. I defo recommend going for one of the deals as you save a lot of money!
