Beautiful Island Suggest have a guide for the history of the island.
Stunning pure nature. You can see goats , horses, muflons and of course unique white donkeys walking around you. Also the prison is very interesting. I recommend to take a boat taxi from windsurfing center near LA Pelosa
The most beautiful place I've ever been!

I highly recommend a visit to the Basilica of San Gavino in Porto Torres. This Romanesque structure has been beautifully restored, including its impressive crypt. The architectural details and historical significance make it a must-see!!!
A very beautiful and preserved church from century XI. This is an important and unique Roman building that is worth a visit. One of a kind due to its rectangular structure (not in cross-shape as it usually is).
This is a stunningly-beautiful Romanesque church. It's amazing that it was built in the 11th century, probably using elements of a previous Roman temple. The architecture is gorgeous.
Really nice, old cathedral! It’s worth visiting but check if it’s open.
An evocative setting, both the church and the courtyard have been tastefully restored. An oasis of tranquility, also the nearby park.
The story of this church is quite interesting. I enjoyed visiting it.
Very wel maintained and for 3 euro you have acces to the church en crypt
Beautiful building with interesting features.

Incredible site. The history and structure are surreal. It is easy to get in, and the staff is very friendly. Notes: Google Maps tried to take us to a farm next to the site, with no access to the location. Probably best to just find your own way from the road. Signage is clear. Google Maps is wrong about the open times. When we went (mid-October) they close at 6pm, but have the final entry time at 5pm. They don’t close for lunch.
It was OK. Not as big as I thought when I looked at others photos. The person at the reception gave me a link with a guide in English which was good. It cost 4 euros each or 10 for a family. Nice view from the top. Shady area to park cars. Well maintained but mot many paths around it which probably gave it an authentic feeling. They were doing a presentation when I was there. Guided tours are available.
The current sanctuary dates back to 2800 BC. It was built by modifying a pre-existing ceremonial area. Half an hour for the visit is enough, ticket €5. It is excellent to combine this visit with the interesting small necropolis of “Su Crucifissu Mannu” with free access that is about one kilometer away from here.
This was one of the most interesting historic places I've visited in Sardinia. We were lucky to encounter a local archaeologist with a tourist group who took the time to explain the historical timeline of the place. I highly recommend visiting it.
Historical place not much to expect if you are excavating team then it’s worth
The site at Turris Libisonis had taken longer than planned but the next site was only about 15 minutes away. Monte d'Accoddi is around 5-6000 years old and looks like a ziggurat. Smaller than the ones of Mesopotamia it is nevertheless an impressive site and unique in Europe. The walls are around 5m tall and the access ramp is 25m and there were lots of wildflowers around the site. Next to it is a large flat stone that could have been a sacrificial altar or feasting table as lots of animals bones were discovered around it. There is also the remains of a neolithic village and one of the many menhirs on the island next to the ramp. The lady at the site was extremely helpful and there was also a useful explanatory app. The aerial photos gave a far better idea of the site size and layout and it is strange that this site is pretty much unheard of while Stonehenge - far more mundane - is world famous. The site was in use from around 3000BC to around 1800BC, so it fell out of use around the time the nuraghe started being built.
Monte d’Accoddi is a unique pre-Nuragic sanctuary, often called the “Sardinian pyramid.” The site is fascinating for history lovers and offers a glimpse into one of the island’s most ancient cultures. The ticket office is simple but efficient, and the visit is well worth it.
Unique prehistoric structure in Sardinia. Impressive kind of high altar surrounded by sacred stones (omphalos, standing stone, sacrificial slab). Definitely worth swinging by although access is a bit of a hassle. Ticket is 4 €, worth it You may ask at the desk for a guide in your language which you hand back. Detailed explanations about that 5,000-year old Osieri culture are fascinating.

What an amazing place to visit. The museum and its artefacts are so interesting and the information gives a real insight into Roman life. The guided view of the sight was an experience I would not have missed! The must go to place in Porto Torres. The ladies on the reception were so lovely and caring making sure we didn't miss anything. I would have liked to take them home ! Thank you for an amazing experience.
Brilliant site. Stefano gave a very interesting guided tour and the mozaics are fantastic. The ladies on reception are very friendly and kindly stored my luggage as it wouldn’t fit in the provided lockers
We wanted to visit the archaeological site. All the signs and google business info says the admission is between 9am to 4pm and the last admission is at 3pm. We were told at the entrance that we aren’t allowed to visit the site and the only possible admission would be at 3pm. Really strange, because all the signs (different ones, not only one) clearly states something different. Too bad, we would have really loved to visit the archeological site…
Very nice Museum. The inside is okay but the outside excavation is really great. It's only open after museum closes. We had a private tour as we were the only visitors and got a great lesson about the history of the bath. Thank you Stefano!
Everything seems to be ok but... it remains unsatisfied.
Amazing museum! We had the pleasure of having Stefano as our tour guide of the outdoor ruins. Super interesting. Must see!
You need to join the tour to see the outside area. There seems to be just one afternoon tour - at 3pm. Returned at 2.40pm and paid 8 euros for my ticket. At 2.45pm it started to rain. Two of the three staff came to the door, opened it and gesticulated at the weather and declared the tour would be cancelled due to rain. It stopped after 5-7 minutes so I assumed the tour would still go ahead. Unfortunately it seemed IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS to even set foot outside. This seemed a bit of overreaction given that some areas were paved. I did notice the only time the three staff (responsible for all 5 visitors) showed any animation was when cancelling the tour and they otherwise looked pretty miserable. I was refunded 3 euros so spent 5 euros for10 minutes looking at some rather dull cabinets of archeological findings hence the two stars. The outdoor area looked interesting but check the clouds before handing over any money!
No ONE WORD in English explaining items It's really a shame.Few employees sitting and boring ,we walking among artefacts like children in a dense fog! ( besides a short film in the beginning) Italy wake up!

Sad you cannot enter 😞
This is a tower by the sea, no doubt used in past times for spotting danger. Well worth a look if you're in Porto Torres, but after all it's only a tower.
The Aragonese Tower is an interesting historic landmark offering nice views of the surrounding area. Its location by the sea makes it worth a short visit. However, the site is quite simple, with limited information and few services available nearby.
Don't know why the fuss. The windows are broken .. not worth the visit. Seems a bit not taken care of.
Looks great at night
No tickets required. It’s an interesting Tower however was closed when I came in October. Probably during the season you may be able to go inside the Tower.

Even though Tripadvisor' s comments were not really positive, we decided to go tgere and we had a wonderful experience. Staff really nice and welcoming. The food...OMG the best linguini with astice...i would tgerefore recommend to stop following others comments but to enjoy your own experience...it wss amazing and the location is really beautiful.
We arrived at the restaurant and from the first moment, even not speaking Italian, they were very efficient, I didn't know the city, I was passing through to a nearby region to finish our tour around the island, we decided to stay overnight in a hotel in the city, which by the way were very helpful also. We can only enumerate positive points, no detail that could be bad for the moment, great variety of dishes, I super suggest going through the city and visiting this restaurant, and toast to the super view of the beach that is worth anything.
It was probably my worst restaurant experience in Sardinia in the last 30 years. The service is more like a staff canteen than a restaurant in that price range. Food quality bordered on amateur, service was disjointed, and there was a total lack of customer engagement. Never mind the smell of the bin area next to the entrance, which probably was an early indicator of the whole experience.
I didn’t have the best experience from the start . We asked for a table next to the window as the location of the restaurant has a view over the sea but we’ve been told no because the tables are all booked. We left the restaurant at 9:30pm and the restaurant was almost empty. The tables were setup for 4 and we were just two however if the restaurant is completely empty then I think they could have made an exception and please a customer. There was no music for ambience . The service overall wasn’t great , The food was mediocre and overpriced. On a positive note - the food portions were big , and location amazing if you get to sit by the window of course Definitely not a turist friendly restaurant. Maybe the locals perceive it differently.
Never really knew Porto Torres as we usually come and go off the boat at the harbour. Great view of the outdoor area but with a roof so you’ll enjoy the breeze. Seafood is fresh and staff are very friendly! But at the end it took a bit long for the bill but the place is very good overall!
If you make a small trip for half day in Porto Torres....it is very good place to eat, very friendly staff and nice view
An amazingly beautiful terrace. The fish is fresh and tasty. The cheese desserts are also quite nice. Staff is not so friendly but overall worths the visit. Prices are not high considering the location and the quality of the food. Although 'coperto' is 3 per person, the highest I've seen during my one week stay in Sardinia :)
44€ for this - grilled mix for two people. Are you serious? One of worst dinners in Sardinia. Fresh salad seemed to be left somewhere for couple of days before serving. Deep fried vegetables (some bits of cauliflower and zucchini) helped to take away hunger, at least. Thanks god we bought some prosciutto, bread and cheese for breakfast in the supermarket before, will be happy to complete this dinner at the hotel, as all this obviously was not ok. One star for location, second for the glass of wine, at least those 100 grams of liquid could not be spoiled.

One of the most amazing places you can see. You must go all the way down to get this picture, do not be afraid, go slow and "climb" down using your feet to find protruding rocks to support yourself. You must go down there it is worth it, good luck.
Beautiful paradise that's calm and not crowded. Perfect turquoise water for snorkelling and cliff diving. Don't miss exploring the caves. Far better then the white crowded beach not far from this pearl.
Is free access, you can swim, make picture, hike around, jump from the cliff! Easy to go there, parking free and free entrance! Amazing view!
Amazing, you really have to go right to the edge of the cliff to see but it's awesome

(Translated by Google) A small but picturesque church nestled in the pleasant panorama offered by the seafront promenade. Its dating is uncertain; after an initial hypothesis that it was built much more recently, it is believed to have been built towards the end of the seventeenth century. It is dedicated to the saints Gavino, Proto, and Gianuario, who are particularly venerated in Sardinia. Their story was passed down only orally for centuries; there are also differing versions, so its reliability is questionable, but it is approximately as follows. In 303 AD, the Roman Emperor Diocletian issued orders to combat the spreading Christian religion. Barbaro, the governor of the two islands, enforced this order in Corsica and Sardinia. In Porto Torres, he had the priest Proto and the deacon Gianuario arrested for refusing to renounce their religion. For this, they were sentenced to death, but the soldier Gavino, their jailer, let them escape. The enraged governor ordered his beheading on October 25, 303 AD. First, a woman gave him a veil to blindfold him. When she returned home, her husband returned the bloodstained veil to her. He had met Gavino, who had asked him to return it and thank her, but this was not possible because he was already dead. Gavino also appeared to the two fugitives, demanding that they surrender to the authorities. They complied with his request and were also beheaded on October 27, 303 AD, on the site where the small church of "Balai Lontano" now stands. In the Middle Ages, Gavino appeared to a leper, asking him to find their bodies and provide them with a better burial. The leper went to the Roman underground necropolis where this church, called "Balai Vicino," now stands. He found the bodies, and he was cured of leprosy. The Basilica of San Gavino was built in the city center, and they were buried there. On May 3rd, wooden statues of the three martyrs are transferred in procession from the basilica to this church, which is opened for pilgrimage. On Pentecost, the reverse procession takes place.

Not the best beach ever but so close to our fairy. So we spent the day here until it was time to bord. There was a little booth that sold drinks and ice cream which was great for the children. The staff there was really nice too. We had fun snorkeling 🤿 since we saw a lot of fish 🐟. The kids climbed on the rocks and it was not too crowded. The sand is ok but we’ve seen better. But overall a good day at the beach for us.

Very cool museum about a Roman bath house. Very informative with audio tour. However what makes this museum stand apart is that you only can visit the excavation site with a guide. Fantastic! 45 minutes tour with explanation. After the tour we even got 4 booklets about Sardinië and her history..... For free... They refused our donation as we bought the tickets they said... Never had such a lovely museum and excavation visit. Highly recommended!
Porto Torres isn't just beaches! There are the remains of a Roman town to visit. The mosaics are particularly impressive.
Both the museum and the actual ruins were very interesting. There's a lot there- well worth the visit. 7€ for both. The ladies at the desk were so friendly and kind as I tried to communicate with my very little Italian, mixed with Spanish and aided by Google Translate. 😂
I refuse to give an archaeological site one star because the worl they do is priceless, but we drive 40 minutes just to see this and they wouldn't let us visit the outdoors area but it was raining very slightly. No judgement, but so nonsensical
Turris Libisonis was the only Roman colony on the island, meaning that all inhabitants were Roman citizens which was extremely important in the early Imperial period. We parked at the port and crossed the road to the museum. Access to the archeological site itself is only on an escorted tour for safety reasons so we had an hour in the museum before the next tour. That was longer than I'd liked but the staff were lovely and the museum had some interesting exhibits. Roman glass is always impressive and the thinness of the examples here was quite amazing. The excavated ruins were ok and there were some very good mosaics which gave an idea of the interior decor enjoyed by the wealthy merchant families at the height of the Empire. The site is quite large and a lot has been swallowed up by the modern town and the railway line was also cut through it. There is an intact Roman bridge just round the corner too which looks like it is being restored. I think there were more staff on this little site than in all the English Heritage sites I have visited this year!
My objectibe was to guve only 5 stars at any review, but here unfortunately it was impossible. The site seems to be huge and interesting (we do not really know) and the lady at the entrance was ok, but the management and the program sucks. You are not aloud to visit the site alone and there are only three tours a day, at 10.00, 12.00 and 15.00. We arrived at 12.05 and we were not allowed to join the group. They speak only italian anyway. It is also a small museum at the entrance of the archeological park which we were allowed to visit. Still, some of us were so disapointed that decided not to enter. I visited it and I feel like I lost my time. It is only one mosaic with a funeral inscription, not realy impresive. I should suggest the management to chamnge the rules and let people visit the site alone, maybe a smaller enclosure if not the entire site. The price for the museum was 4 Euro, for the site 4 Euro, and for both 7 Euro.
I'm sure it would have been great but you can't just wander around, only with a guided tour. I didn't know 😭 I just missed one and the next was in 3 hours. Don't make the same mistake!
Only can access via guided tour every 90 min to 2 hours. And the tour takes an hour. We arrived just after a tour departed and didn’t want to wait for the next tour to start.

Nice .... but it was closed at 2 pm ....
(Translated by Google) Small church of recent construction (19th century), located in the main street of Portotorres, it has the rank of parish but is not very attractive; a single, small nave, a very simple altar and two side altars, the thing I liked most is the external façade, although simple and a little ruined by humidity, with its beautiful design above the entrance.

Worth taking the trouble to find
It was interesting to see the site, but unfortunately, the guide seemed to lack in-depth knowledge. Her explanations were not very clear, and the tour felt quite short. We were only shown the front of the site and the museum, with no access to the back area. Additionally, almost everything was in Italian, with very little information available in English, which made it difficult to fully understand and appreciate the experience.
(Translated by Google) Drink a glass of limoncello brewed by the proprietress in the ruins of an ancient Roman tomb! This is perhaps the only archaeological museum opened in a tavern. You can see the excavation site of ancient Roman tombs, and even drill into the underground caves to experience the feeling of life in the tombs. The boss and his wife were very warm and kind. Although they didn't understand the language, they invited me to join their small table and we communicated happily using translation software. Please don’t expect a textbook museum, here you can see the wonderful coexistence of ancient ruins and modern life. Be sure to try the limoncello and creamy limoncello made by the proprietress herself! Grazie di tutto. Amore dalla Cina! Grazie di tutto. Amore dalla Cina! ❤️❤️

(Translated by Google) Mr. is a charm. And very committed to the discovery and care of that treasure. The entire city is built on ruins, but unfortunately there are few citizens who value and respect history. Congratulations Lord!!! And the coffee is very delicious!! (Original) El sr es un encanto. Felicitaciones Señor!!! Y muy rico el café!!
(Translated by Google) A fascinating place, a bar that unfolds on a Roman necropolis, partially excavated with interesting tombs, even decorated. It deserves to be visited with the help of multimedia content that starts with QR code, with accurate explanations and excavation videos. I thank the owner who welcomed us in a courteous and friendly manner.

(Translated by Google) The photos circulating on Google are those of the necropolis of Su Crucifissu Mannu, also in Porto Torres, but they have nothing to do with the tombs in via Libio (in the photo!) which are in the city centre, inside a building, since they were found while the foundations of condominium garages were being laid! The best part is that the garages were built anyway!! After all, the entire Porto Torres stands on a pre-existing Roman city, which in turn stood on settlements that go back in time to the pre-Nuragic age. I recommend visiting them because they give an idea of what really exists underground in this ugly industrial city! Let's say right away that the 3.50 ticket, in my opinion, is a little high, because the portion of the cemetery that can be seen is very small: currently the skeletal remains of a child and some decorations are visible which, however, are disappearing! The bizarre thing is that these catacombs are located inside a room: a sort of pub restaurant, with the lady at the counter who gives the guided tours! Strange example of collaboration between public and private, which nevertheless has the merit of making a site of historical-artistic interest usable, otherwise destined to disappear under flows of concrete, as happened to 99% of this cemetery area!

Beautiful authentic church, must see
(Translated by Google) A welcoming green lung, clean, fresh.... beautiful playground for children. A spacious park accessible to all. Ample on-street parking, also accessible to dogs kept according to the rules and accessible to disabled people even in wheelchairs. Inside the park there are several benches. Also recommended for shelter from the scorching heat. Advised. Free entry. Consigliato. Ingresso gratuito.
(Translated by Google) Dirt everywhere, including a syringe. A delicate smell of marijuana could be perceived. But that is not what bothers. The neglect of the benches, we lay down in the "grass", among dog poop and garbage. How sad. Such a quiet place......
(Translated by Google) The place is beautiful but abandoned to neglect and rude people. Rubbish everywhere, under the only table available near the entrance a sea of paper, cans and waste of all kinds despite there being containers (unlike other parts of the town where they are scarce). Things are no better in the flowerbeds and other parts of the park. Some games have loose bolts, the butts are countless. Really a big shame. Unfortunately, the rubbish problem throughout Porto Torres is very evident and I can't believe that nothing is being done to solve it.
(Translated by Google) A park that could be very beautiful, shame about the dirt and rubbish left by uncivilized people, I would like there to be cameras throughout the park to identify and fine the filthy louts who reduce public places to this state. Smoking ban but people don't care, rightly no ban on dogs also because it would be ridiculous with all this rubbish (Original) Parco che potrebbe essere molto bello, peccato per la sporcizia e la spazzatura lasciata da gente incivile, mi piacerebbe che ci fossero telecamere in tutto il parco per identificare e multare i zozzoni luridi che riducono in questo stato i posti pubblici.
(Translated by Google) Quiet park with comfortable benches, there are many games for children such as slides, swings, climbing castles. The only flaw is the fountain not working and the pulley completely destroyed, I would recommend taking away the remaining padanas as they are dangerous.
(Translated by Google) Very beautiful church; magnificent with its two apses and no real facade. Rather atypical structure and majestic interior. Built in honor of the 3 holy martyrs in the 11th century, it can be appreciated in its park which brings together the church with a green space, the place of residence for the faithful and Roman columns next to the inhabited houses (almost surreal).
