Outdoor Activities
Nestled in the stunning northwestern region of Sardinia, Spiaggia La Pelosa is a true coastal paradise that beckons beach lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. This idyllic stretch of white sand boasts crystal-clear turquoise waters, making it perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and leisurely beach strolls. The serene atmosphere is complemented by the presence of a historic medieval watchtower that stands sentinel over the landscape.
The most beautiful beach I have ever seen. You will need to make a reservation and bring mats which are mandatory
Natalia U — Google review
Very pretty, but very expensive and full of people. First row 50 (2 chairs and 1 umbrella) other rows 45. It’s very very full and very very beautiful. Depends on the kind of trip you are doing. And if you enter the website at 8 it’s almost sure you can buy. Parking paid, saw many people getting tickets on the way out, so pay for the hours you are going to stay.
Camila P — Google review
Overall experience was a 3/5. What is good: - view and the sea was just so beautiful and a must see for sure What is bad: - parking is quite expensive (paid 15€ for 4h) - you need to put a mat below your beach towel - reserving is a bit stressful (tickets are very popular and so you should reserve by 8am (or 9am when the not fulfilled reservations get back online)) - place is super crowded; it is really hard to relax there - windy place; be prepared for flying sun umbrellas (so better get a anker for your umbrella)
Sebastian K — Google review
Sure the water is beautiful, but you have to share it with hundreds of other people. Way too crowded. I thought that needing to make a reservation and pay ahead of time that they limited the number of people but that's not the case. We stayed the whole day to get our money's worth, but the beach was too crowded. There are beaches that are just as beautiful, free, and not full of people. Highly overrated.
Cassia G — Google review
Beautiful beach with fine white sand and turquoise water. The views are amazing, and the sea is crystal clear — perfect for swimming and relaxing.
Anisoara R — Google review
This is one of the most popular beaches in Sardinia. The water is clean and transparent. We went off-season (mid-October) and were positively surprised that they don`t charge for parking now. Better arrive early in the morning because an hour later the parking was almost full. The weather in October turned out to be perfect for beach time - less crowds and more parking space. Another positive surprise is that they did not charge us for a beach towel mat - there was no one to look after this. Also being off-season we did not have to make a reservation and just popped-up. The beach is suitable for families with children - no waves, calm water. Totally recommend but come here in October.
Яна Т — Google review
Lovely beach, one of my faves! I loved that it was shallow and crystal clear; though one must be aware that tickets can be booked online, and you can only book up to the next 3 days. Each day they open a new date for booking. Another important piece of information to note is that booking can be made starting from 08:00 AM local time. Be prepared to book right away as the tickets get booked quickly in high season.
Mirlind M — Google review
One of the most stunning beach in Sardinia It suffers from its own notoriety so I would recommend going before 9:00 a.m. or after 7:00 p.m. to fully enjoy it. The sea is incredibly clear and warm in August.

Restaurant
Nestled along the stunning coastline of Stintino, Il Gabbiano is a delightful seaside restaurant that offers an inviting atmosphere with its airy design and covered beachfront terrace. Guests can indulge in a delectable array of seafood dishes, pasta, and pizza while enjoying breathtaking views just steps from the sea. The location is perfect for families, as children can play on the beach while adults savor expertly prepared traditional cuisine in this picturesque setting.
Today is our last day here. I feel so lucky to find this gem in stintino… this is the BEST restaurant we’ve had in the past few days. The fish as a starter is super fresh, the seafood pasta is cooked perfectly ❤️👍, the pizza is also not bad. With a perfect view, nice table setup, professional service, Is a 5/5 star restaurant for sure. And yes the price is slightly higher than other restaurants here, but, come on, you’re paying for a better food, service, and the amazing view;) I doubt why such an amazing restaurant only have 3.9stars on Google? Is nowadays people doesn’t know how to judge what good food and service is?
Zhou H — Google review
Honestly feel fairly let down with the food, had a squid grill which was overcooked and chewy my partner had ‘the lobster’ as named in the menu which actually turned out to be a small half a lobster. These two dishes were the most highly priced on the menu and were possibly the worst. Service and location were great however.
Tom B — Google review
We made reservations few days earlier, the restaurant was clean and beautiful, but almost empty. The food was mediocre, no issues with service as we were one of just 3 occupied tables, 10€ cocktails, nothing memorable . Portion sizes were huge.
Jamal K — Google review
The tuna was completely raw. We told the manager but nothing happened. In the end, an additional 6 euros was billed for napkins and a couple of loaves of bread (2 pax)??? despite the fact that we did not order it. Very inconvenient and arrogant service. Never goes back.

My mom and I had a great day! We reserved by paying through paypal the day before we arrived. We enjoyed the comfortable chairs but did feel it was a bit overpriced. However, we are thankful we got to visit!

Quiet beach spot with 10-12 places for campers, staid the night and swam in beautiful clear warm sea.. lots of old plastic on beach sadly..

Okay I’m happy to share more information. Everyone around us were served before us, even though they came up to 20 minutes later than we did. It seems that you guys spend more attention to the ones who were Italian or spend a lot of money. We waited more than one hour for three pizzas. In the end I had two bottles of wine at my bill which wasn’t a big deal at all, but kinda symbolic for that lunch we had at your place. The one star is for the usher man in the front. He is professional.

National park
Hiking area
Asinara National Park, located on the mountainous and uninhabited island of Asinara off the northwestern coast of Sardinia, offers a variety of activities for nature enthusiasts. The park features numerous hiking trails that wind through dense Mediterranean vegetation and provide opportunities to spot rare wildlife such as kestrels, hares, and mouflons. Visitors can also explore pristine beaches where marine life thrives in the protected environment.
The island so beautiful and name asinara ( donkey ) so many donkey and horse's in this island 😂I had the pleasant experience of walking from the north pier 14km to the south of the island. Donkey so friendly come to me. I like 👍👍 so much the island. Beautiful and Preserved and natural animals abound.

Beautiful island with Cristal clear water. Pure but limited accessible. Former prison and now a national park
Hojoon B — Google review
Avoid this place if you see any chance for rain. There are no places where you can sit down during the raining. Only a few restaurants on the island so you do not has a the possibility to choose. The place it self beautiful but for a full day program I recommend only on a hot summer day when you can enjoy the sun and the beaches!
József F — Google review
Beautiful park unique experience with all the donkeys walking around especially the albino ones. Please make sure you rent bikes either on the island or in Porto Torres. Since biking enables you to see all of the island. There are also a few beaches you can visit if the weather is nice. In the off season there is only 1 restaurant open please keep that in mind and bring your own lunch water etc.
Gerbrand B — Google review
The place is very rundown. It has great potential but for 30 euros (boat, back and forth) not worth it. It seems no one takes care of the place :(
Karen D — Google review
The place is simply the full experience. Historical sites, breathtaking views, beautiful beaches, wild animals and the remains of a prison system. It's a must see if you're in the area.

Great experience! It really is a must see in Stintino! Be sure to go there in early/medium June, since the colors of the plants are great and the water is not too cold. Best cala to have a bath in is near cala reale. From fornelli It takes about 1 hour and half to reach it. Overall a really nice trip!

Grimaldi Lines

3.0
(2020)
Ferry service
Grimaldi Lines is the sole ferry company providing a service that runs up to twice a week, with each sailing lasting approximately 13 hours and 15 minutes. While some customers have reported delays and expressed dissatisfaction with the refund policy for late departures, others have mentioned receiving complimentary snacks as compensation. It's advisable to carefully review their refund policy in case of delays and consider reaching out to customer service for further clarification.
SHUTTLE BUS The shuttle bus is operated by the port Authority of Porto Torres. It has nothing to do with Grimaldi. It leaves from several places but your best bet is Stazione Marittime as I tried another and failed. Shuttle is free. I don't know where it leaves from the port itself. Ferry was fine. Arrived Shortly before check in closed. Walked right on. There was a bag scanner. They kick you out of the cabin about 2 hours before arrival so be aware and ready for that. My crossing was grand.
Lorcan M — Google review
Grimaldi Lines, Sardinia - Livorno 20 years ago, the ship must have been the top-of-the-line, that can no longer be claimed! We sailed with Moby on the crossing to Sardinia and it is a completely different standard compared with Grimaldi. But it is not so much that the ship is of an older date that sets the basis for this review. The ship is not only worn but also poorly maintained. 1. Cleaning is non existence the toilets were not cleaned. Sitting areas were not cleaned, there was soda on chairs, seats etc. the floor was not vacuumed and you could find food and trash several places on the floor and on the tables. The Bar areas were not cleaned i.a. their ice cream freezer was so frozen that it could hardly be closed. 2. The one men's toilet was missing a door for one of the stalls, the once beautiful tiled floors were cracked and broken many places. I didn't go through the whole ship but deck 10 was clearly below normal standard. 3. Signage on the ship was very poor, it was not clear which deck you were on and on the car deck there were no signs for stairs (I could not find them) 4. When we had to board with our car we were placed blocks away from neighbor's car so my wife had to crawl over to the driver's seat to get out. The car we were parked next to couldn't get in on the driver's side either. The cars were generally parked so close together that we couldn’t get through. That's why Grimaldi Lines get 2 stars, 1 star for the poor standard of the ship and 1 star for arriving safely to port! We saved €30 on the ferry crossing, which was the reason we didn't return with Moby - We will NOT save €30 the next time the choice is between Grimaldi and Moby!
Kasper J — Google review
Don’t pay for a sleeper cabin expecting to sleep the night. At 3am the cleaners bang on your door every five minutes to kick you out of the room so they can start to clean. The ferry doesn’t even arrive until 6:30am, but you’re expected to leave your cabin 3.5 hours earlier. Absolutely inexcusable. Completely pointless journey. Save your money and fly to your destination. Leave your car at home, and rental one at the airport. Save yourself the aggravation. [Related to an overnight ferry to Sardinia.]
Jefferson T — Google review
Chaos. The star is for the staff who have to work under such conditions & The room was clean, bed was great. Grimaldi like their ships to look like refugee camps. Bring your own food and drink
Kevin J — Google review
There is a free shuttle bus to and from the Stazione Marittima. It leaves about an hour before the ship’s departure and does a few round trips. It makes it easy to go the city center to rent a car or take the train. I wish Grimaldi had told us about it.
Quentin M — Google review
My seat was located in a closed room which was used as laundry utility room. The pullman seats were not reclinabile, just like on a Ryanair flight. Impossible to rest, let alone sleep.
Gio F — Google review
The cabins were good but they asked us to leave the cabin 3 or 4 hours before arrival… the food offer is very limited and expensive
Andrea C — Google review
Super expensive for no reason, food is terrible, there is no entertainment, you can only pay cash in some bars, you pay lot of money for the cabin and they kick you out 2 HOURS BEFORE ARRIVAL.

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Ristorante Pizzeria Scogliolungo, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to La Cialda Gelateria. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Visitors have praised the amazing sunset views, delicious seafood risotto, rosemary potatoes, and house red wine.

We arrived at the restaurant and from the first moment, even not speaking Italian, they were very efficient, I didn't know the city, I was passing through to a nearby region to finish our tour around the island, we decided to stay overnight in a hotel in the city, which by the way were very helpful also. We can only enumerate positive points, no detail that could be bad for the moment, great variety of dishes, I super suggest going through the city and visiting this restaurant, and toast to the super view of the beach that is worth anything.
Wesley O — Google review
It was probably my worst restaurant experience in Sardinia in the last 30 years. The service is more like a staff canteen than a restaurant in that price range. Food quality bordered on amateur, service was disjointed, and there was a total lack of customer engagement. Never mind the smell of the bin area next to the entrance, which probably was an early indicator of the whole experience.
Francesco F — Google review
I didn’t have the best experience from the start . We asked for a table next to the window as the location of the restaurant has a view over the sea but we’ve been told no because the tables are all booked. We left the restaurant at 9:30pm and the restaurant was almost empty. The tables were setup for 4 and we were just two however if the restaurant is completely empty then I think they could have made an exception and please a customer. There was no music for ambience . The service overall wasn’t great , The food was mediocre and overpriced. On a positive note - the food portions were big , and location amazing if you get to sit by the window of course Definitely not a turist friendly restaurant. Maybe the locals perceive it differently.

Never really knew Porto Torres as we usually come and go off the boat at the harbour. Great view of the outdoor area but with a roof so you’ll enjoy the breeze. Seafood is fresh and staff are very friendly! But at the end it took a bit long for the bill but the place is very good overall!

An amazingly beautiful terrace. The fish is fresh and tasty. The cheese desserts are also quite nice. Staff is not so friendly but overall worths the visit. Prices are not high considering the location and the quality of the food. Although 'coperto' is 3 per person, the highest I've seen during my one week stay in Sardinia :)

44€ for this - grilled mix for two people. Are you serious? One of worst dinners in Sardinia. Fresh salad seemed to be left somewhere for couple of days before serving. Deep fried vegetables (some bits of cauliflower and zucchini) helped to take away hunger, at least. Thanks god we bought some prosciutto, bread and cheese for breakfast in the supermarket before, will be happy to complete this dinner at the hotel, as all this obviously was not ok. One star for location, second for the glass of wine, at least those 100 grams of liquid could not be spoiled.

The Basilica of San Gavino is a historic hilltop church located in Sardinia, Italy. Constructed between 1030 and 1080, it is the largest and oldest Romanesque church on the island. The basilica features unique architectural details that combine external grandeur with an inviting interior. Beneath the central nave lies an underground crypt containing the relics of Saints Gavino, Proto, and Gianuario.

Built in honor of the 3 holy martyrs in the 11th century, it can be appreciated in its park which brings together the church with a green space, the place of residence for the faithful and Roman columns next to the inhabited houses (almost surreal). Parco Archeologico di Turris Libisonis is a must-see destination in Sardinia, as it's the only Roman colony on the island. The site offers a fascinating glimpse into the Roman history of Sardinia, with beautiful mosaics and a collection of items discovered at the Colonia Iulia Turris Libisonis.
Very cool museum about a Roman bath house. Very informative with audio tour. However what makes this museum stand apart is that you only can visit the excavation site with a guide. Fantastic! 45 minutes tour with explanation. After the tour we even got 4 booklets about Sardinië and her history..... For free... They refused our donation as we bought the tickets they said... Never had such a lovely museum and excavation visit. Highly recommended!

Porto Torres isn't just beaches! There are the remains of a Roman town to visit. The mosaics are particularly impressive.
David S — Google review
Both the museum and the actual ruins were very interesting. There's a lot there- well worth the visit. 7€ for both. The ladies at the desk were so friendly and kind as I tried to communicate with my very little Italian, mixed with Spanish and aided by Google Translate. 😂
Donna G — Google review
I refuse to give an archaeological site one star because the worl they do is priceless, but we drive 40 minutes just to see this and they wouldn't let us visit the outdoors area but it was raining very slightly. No judgement, but so nonsensical
Marc Q — Google review
Turris Libisonis was the only Roman colony on the island, meaning that all inhabitants were Roman citizens which was extremely important in the early Imperial period. We parked at the port and crossed the road to the museum. Access to the archeological site itself is only on an escorted tour for safety reasons so we had an hour in the museum before the next tour. That was longer than I'd liked but the staff were lovely and the museum had some interesting exhibits. Roman glass is always impressive and the thinness of the examples here was quite amazing. The excavated ruins were ok and there were some very good mosaics which gave an idea of the interior decor enjoyed by the wealthy merchant families at the height of the Empire. The site is quite large and a lot has been swallowed up by the modern town and the railway line was also cut through it. There is an intact Roman bridge just round the corner too which looks like it is being restored. I think there were more staff on this little site than in all the English Heritage sites I have visited this year!

My objectibe was to guve only 5 stars at any review, but here unfortunately it was impossible. The site seems to be huge and interesting (we do not really know) and the lady at the entrance was ok, but the management and the program sucks. You are not aloud to visit the site alone and there are only three tours a day, at 10.00, 12.00 and 15.00. We arrived at 12.05 and we were not allowed to join the group. They speak only italian anyway. It is also a small museum at the entrance of the archeological park which we were allowed to visit. Still, some of us were so disapointed that decided not to enter. I visited it and I feel like I lost my time. It is only one mosaic with a funeral inscription, not realy impresive. I should suggest the management to chamnge the rules and let people visit the site alone, maybe a smaller enclosure if not the entire site. The price for the museum was 4 Euro, for the site 4 Euro, and for both 7 Euro.

I'm sure it would have been great but you can't just wander around, only with a guided tour. I didn't know 😭 I just missed one and the next was in 3 hours. Don't make the same mistake!

Only can access via guided tour every 90 min to 2 hours. And the tour takes an hour. We arrived just after a tour departed and didn’t want to wait for the next tour to start.

This charming gelateria is renowned for its extensive selection of flavors, making it a delightful challenge to choose just one! Visitors rave about the delicious melon ice cream, among other tempting options. After indulging in some of the best gelato on the island, you can also enjoy a refreshing drink at this cozy spot.
Lovely coffee and so was the ice cream. I had almond with pistachio and chocolate and didn’t go wrong. Very friendly staff, especially Alexandra was really helpful and nice. She even gave me an advice where to get savoury breakfast. Only thing I’d point out were the sharp cups for the ice cream 😔

Ristorante Pizzeria San Gavino is a well-established trattoria in Porto Torres, Sardegna, offering a variety of regional antipasti, pasta, pizza, and seafood dishes. With a rustic ambiance and a piazza terrace, this veteran restaurant provides an authentic Italian dining experience. Known for their delicious tagliatelle all'astice (lobster), Ristorante Pizzeria San Gavino has received positive reviews from customers for its tasty food.
Located in the City Center the ambiente of this well known restaurant is unique. There are tables in the green garden, and also inside. Usually you do not get a place without reservation, so reserve in advance! We had good luck but had only 1 hour time. Service is very friendly and efficient. The food offers vary from seafood to meat, also a lot of vegetarian options are there. We opted for a swordfish carpaccio and a Pizza from the wood stove. The food was very good, portions huge and freshly prepared, prices are reasonable. Clear recommendation!

By the time we ate at this restaurant on our way from Alghero to Palau, we had been traveling through Italy for just over two months and hands down, this was by far one of our best meals for sure. The servers were all very kind and friendly, the outdoor atmosphere was amazing and the food was unbelievable! I actually wrote this in Google translate to show the woman who seated us and I believe she was the owner; “We’ve been in Italy for just over two months on an 85 day trip starting in the North and traveling throughout all of Italy. This was one of our best meals and all your servers were very kind and patient with our bad Italian.” She was so sweet and grateful for my compliment and it was try’s and heartfelt for sure. If you’re anywhere close to the restaurant or even if you have to drive a little bit more then you wanted to, it’s so worth it!

Nice restaurant with very good price.Location is next to the stairs of the basilisk but other than that not much of a view. But cute terrace with nice lighting and decor. We ordered two seafood starters and two mains. The portions are quite big and prepared very well. Besides the standard bread, they also give very delicious foccacia sticks. Downside were the shrimps, which didn't seem fresh and had a strange taste, but the menu did say some seafood could be frozen if they weren't in season. Too bad because I ordered the scampi and shrimp platter. The servers were very attentive, friendly and fast. The restaurant was full but they still switched the 'empty shell' plates from the seafood platters every time they almost gotten full and came to fill the glasses timely. I'd definitely recommend the seafood stew.

We had lunch at the Lido bar with my husband, and it was a fantastic experience. We started with the ricciolo di calamaro, which was beautifully plated and bursting with flavour. It was a lovely way to kick off our meal. For the main course, I ordered the spaghetti al Nero di seppia, and I can confidently say it was one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had ,second only to my mother's which ,coming from someone Italian, is quite a compliment. The presentation was elegant, it was cooked perfectly al dente, and it truly captured the essence of the sea.My husband chose the pacchero fresco with ragu' al Cannonau, and it was absolutely outstanding. We genuinely loved our meal, and the service was just as impressive as the food.the waiting staff were very attentive, friendly and spoke excellent english. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience from start to finish. If you are in the area,do yourself a favour and stop by this restaurant. Whether you are local or just passing through, this is the kind of place that's truly worth a visit.Dont miss the chance to try it,you won't be disappointed!!

Horrible place to eat, we choose the pretentious tasting menu that was a mediocre set of dishes decorated in colourful and tasteless sauces. The service was slow at beginning, they missed one plate (and intended to escape it), and the last two arrived same time and cold. One of us was cheese allergic and, even though we told them a few times, they served him a dish with cheese. We complained to one waiter and then, as a final performance, the owner, a comical man with extremely rude and agressive manners, came to our table and told us that it was our fault for arriving late! Worst restaurant in Sardinia and worst service we received in years.

Santuario prenuragico Monte d'Accoddi - Biglietteria is a unique archaeological site located on a grassy embankment, featuring the excavated ruins of an ancient open-air altar. It is a neolithic temple dating back to the 4th millennium BC, with most surviving structures from around 2800 BC. The site's step pyramid construction sets it apart as a prehistoric monument with no close comparison in the Mediterranean basin.
Incredible site. The history and structure are surreal. It is easy to get in, and the staff is very friendly. Notes: Google Maps tried to take us to a farm next to the site, with no access to the location. Probably best to just find your own way from the road. Signage is clear. Google Maps is wrong about the open times. When we went (mid-October) they close at 6pm, but have the final entry time at 5pm. They don’t close for lunch.

It was OK. Not as big as I thought when I looked at others photos. The person at the reception gave me a link with a guide in English which was good. It cost 4 euros each or 10 for a family. Nice view from the top. Shady area to park cars. Well maintained but mot many paths around it which probably gave it an authentic feeling. They were doing a presentation when I was there. Guided tours are available.

The current sanctuary dates back to 2800 BC. It was built by modifying a pre-existing ceremonial area. Half an hour for the visit is enough, ticket €5. It is excellent to combine this visit with the interesting small necropolis of “Su Crucifissu Mannu” with free access that is about one kilometer away from here.

The site at Turris Libisonis had taken longer than planned but the next site was only about 15 minutes away. Monte d'Accoddi is around 5-6000 years old and looks like a ziggurat. Smaller than the ones of Mesopotamia it is nevertheless an impressive site and unique in Europe. The walls are around 5m tall and the access ramp is 25m and there were lots of wildflowers around the site. Next to it is a large flat stone that could have been a sacrificial altar or feasting table as lots of animals bones were discovered around it. There is also the remains of a neolithic village and one of the many menhirs on the island next to the ramp. The lady at the site was extremely helpful and there was also a useful explanatory app. The aerial photos gave a far better idea of the site size and layout and it is strange that this site is pretty much unheard of while Stonehenge - far more mundane - is world famous. The site was in use from around 3000BC to around 1800BC, so it fell out of use around the time the nuraghe started being built.

Monte d’Accoddi is a unique pre-Nuragic sanctuary, often called the “Sardinian pyramid.” The site is fascinating for history lovers and offers a glimpse into one of the island’s most ancient cultures. The ticket office is simple but efficient, and the visit is well worth it.

Located near Porto Torres, the Necropolis of Su Crucifissu Mannu is a fascinating archaeological site with a rich history. The area features Roman-era structures, including an impressive seven-arched bridge that was in use until the mid-20th century. Additionally, visitors can explore the Tanca Borgona necropolis, which contains 32 mausoleums with frescoes and mosaics, as well as 50 tombs and catacombs dating back to early Christian times.
Interesting archealogical site believed to be a necropolis. Unground structures and tunnels carved out of the rock. Worth a visit, open area, no ticket required.

Interesting site. A piece of history available to everyone who’s willing to make the trip here. A quick note that entrance to this site is only via SS131 from Sassari.

Just amazing! A total bugger to get to by public transport, but possible by bus and some sketchy walking on a busy road, no path! Bring a torch and knee pads if you really want to get into the tombs. They say the ruts are Roman but they are cut into by some of the tombs, so I'd say the ruts are older. Whatever, there are heaps of paths so take your time, enjoy, don't get lost or stuck or break your arm, and say hello to the Hermanns tortoises lurking.

Pretty cool place but I would consider this an "on the way trip." It is on a dirt road, and parking was not difficult. We stopped at agritourismo restaurant near by and this place popped right up. It's is a small hiking event. I'd be cautious with small children as they can fall right through the holes in the ground. But their are about a dozen catacombs to look at. Overall it was pretty interesting and a decent place to take photos, and look at the mountains.

One of the most amazing places you can see. You must go all the way down to get this picture, do not be afraid, go slow and "climb" down using your feet to find protruding rocks to support yourself. You must go down there it is worth it, good luck.

Beautiful paradise that's calm and not crowded. Perfect turquoise water for snorkelling and cliff diving. Don't miss exploring the caves. Far better then the white crowded beach not far from this pearl.

The Chiesa di Santu Bainzu Ischabizzaddu, also known as Balai Lontano Church, offers a unique perspective at the culmination of a picturesque bike path in Italy. Despite its somewhat neglected state, similar to the rest of the city, this church captivates with its splendid surroundings. However, it is worth noting that the given name for this church is incorrect; it should be called Chiesa di Balai Lontano instead.
Simple church situated next to the street which leads from Porto Torres to Platamona, Sorso, Castelsardo... it is a very popular peak as the walking path was built around it and many people use it for walks or runs. It offers an unique view at the Asinara bay and the Platamona beaches. The church is closed to public though

(Translated by Google) This Church is called Santu Bainzu Ischabizzaddu in the Sassari language which means Beheaded San Gavino. It was built on a limestone ridge where history has it that the three martyrs were beheaded; San Gavino, Proto and Gianuario in October 303 AD. C. The story speaks of San Gavino, the Turritan martyr together with the other two saints who were always accompanied by Proto the bishop and Gianuario. There is a narrative dating back to the 12th century written in Cagliari by a Victorine Monk entitled "legend of San Saturnino" in which the stories of the three Sardinian martyrs are found. In short, in those distant times the three martyrs outraged the Gods only because they were Christians and recognized no other god than Christ our Lord. For this reason they were led to the place where their fate was to be fulfilled and were beheaded at the sacred commands of the emperors who wanted their death.

Braceria Carboni Ardenti offers a unique dining experience with excellent food and service. The restaurant serves meat on hot stones, ensuring a flavorful and juicy meal. Guests can enjoy a variety of steaks, including options like Argentina and Ireland steaks, as well as kangaroo meat. The open kitchen allows diners to observe the skilled chefs cooking over real charcoal, adding an authentic touch to the experience. Despite its high quality, the prices are surprisingly affordable, making it great value for money.
We recently visited Braceria and it was a fantastic experience. Despite not having a reservation, we were promptly seated at a great table. The star of the meal was the steak, cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful and exactly how we wanted it. The prices were surprisingly affordable for the quality, making it a great value. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we’ll definitely be back!

Meat was great and the picanha is a must try if available. The space is however way too loud, making conversations impossible and the service was a bit annoyed. The vegetables and fries were not as good and the salad is just a bit of chopped iceberg salad. There’s better spaces in town!

We ate here a few nights ago. It was amazing. We choose Argentina and Ireland steaks but our waitress suggested we get the mix and we’re glad she did. Kangaroo meat was a part of the mix. First time having it and it was delicious. Two things we noticed in particular. Every single guest seemed to be enjoying their meal. The restaurant is run by women. We saw only one man. Watching the young lady cooking on the grill was like watching an artist at work. We highly recommend it.

Tenuta Li Lioni is a charming restaurant situated on the northern coast of Sardinia. It offers rich Italian dishes made from simple ingredients that burst with flavor. The rustic charm of this place is complemented by locally produced wines, adding to the authentic experience. Visitors have praised the house wine and enjoyed their food, making it a great choice for those looking to savor delicious Italian cuisine in a picturesque setting.

Great traditional Sardinian restaurant that serves wine from their own vineyard and olive oil from their own trees. Be sure to reserve a table and ask for roasted suckling pig with the reservation.
Saskia K — Google review
Delicious domestic food. Everything we tried was excellent. The only thing that could be better was the house red wine, bad taste, and small portion, which is a shame for a restaurant of this type. But besides that, I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Vanja K — Google review
I normally would not leave a bad review because I think that every experience is subjective but I was personally deceived by the lots of good reviews. I booked through an official platform for a group of 5 people and when we arrived there were lots of tables outside and we were seated INSIDE because they told us that the tables outside where occupied even though we made a reservation online in advance, when we inquired about that they told us(in a bad manner) that we should have mentioned on the platform that we wanted a table outside even though there was no such way to do that we were seated just below the full-blasting AC and we politely asked them to find us another table as we did not want the AC to blow in our faces, again, we were told that this is impossible even though there were other tables available and they stopped the AC just for 5 minutes and turned it on, again after that we looked on the menu and we really had a very big surprise because there weren't really any options to chose from they didn't have any coke, they did not have any prosseco at glass, if you want to have some you should buy the full bottle, someone from our group wanted a salad with some tomatoes and chicken, she received a carrefour-like salad from a bag without anything just some salad and some carrot for the amazing price of 12 euros and the rest of us ordered some pasta for the same price i think and they brought us like 3-5 small size ravioli with a splash of tomato sauce which were ok but nothing special I never had such an awful experience, waiters who don't have any intentions to be of any help or accommodate their guests, the menu lacks options, the price doesn't really reflect the quality of food and especially the size The staff was truly unprofessional and disorganised and not welcoming at all, maybe it is ok for locals but for internationals it is a nightmare With that being said I hope you don't get fooled by the lots of good reviews and if you do, I really do hope you will have a better experience than we did
Mihai N — Google review

Really nice restaurant! It was recommended by a local and he said we should get the suckling pig, which some of us did. For someone who’s had that many times before, it was good but not what it’s hyped up to be. And for that price we got a pretty small portion, luckily we could eat the rest of the dishes our friends ordered (which were amazing!!).
Sarke — Google review
One of the best dinners we’ve ever had in Sardegna. Beautiful interior honoring local culture and history. Food was immaculate - we ordered pane frattau, malloreddus, and culurgiones. Welcoming and warm staff. 5/5 definite recommend.
Alex — Google review
Trap, avoid ❗️⚠️ What an absolute trap, unless you enjoy chaos, unfriendly staff, and being told your food can’t be made because the oven is busy 😂 Apparently, not ordering drinks is a crime here, because the staff acted like we personally offended them and ignored us all the way through lunch. And the best part? An “Italian” restaurant with no balsamic vinegar. Seriously? This place is a joke - do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. After all, seems they don't care about customers anyway, better one less then!

Be sure to try the limoncello and creamy limoncello made by the proprietress herself! Grazie di tutto. Amore dalla Cina! Grazie di tutto. (Translated by Google) A fascinating place, a bar that unfolds on a Roman necropolis, partially excavated with interesting tombs, even decorated. It deserves to be visited with the help of multimedia content that starts with QR code, with accurate explanations and excavation videos. I thank the owner who welcomed us in a courteous and friendly manner. Merita di essere visitata con l'ausilio dei contenuti multimediali che si avviano con QR code, con spiegazioni accurate e video di scavo. Ringrazio il titolare che ci ha accolto in maniera cortese e simpatica.

(Translated by Google) The photos circulating on Google are those of the necropolis of Su Crucifissu Mannu, also in Porto Torres, but they have nothing to do with the tombs in via Libio (in the photo!) which are in the city centre, inside a building, since they were found while the foundations of condominium garages were being laid! The best part is that the garages were built anyway!! After all, the entire Porto Torres stands on a pre-existing Roman city, which in turn stood on settlements that go back in time to the pre-Nuragic age. I recommend visiting them because they give an idea of what really exists underground in this ugly industrial city! Let's say right away that the 3.50 ticket, in my opinion, is a little high, because the portion of the cemetery that can be seen is very small: currently the skeletal remains of a child and some decorations are visible which, however, are disappearing! The bizarre thing is that these catacombs are located inside a room: a sort of pub restaurant, with the lady at the counter who gives the guided tours! Strange example of collaboration between public and private, which nevertheless has the merit of making a site of historical-artistic interest usable, otherwise destined to disappear under flows of concrete, as happened to 99% of this cemetery area!

We found a bar in a little square and ordered dinner at the ungodly hour for Itlians of 6PM! It was a nice location overlooking the square and the young lad serving us had excellent English and was very efficient. The ricotta was huge and it was a lovely meal although no cold beer for me as I had to drive back to the hotel.

4 year old menu on Google, so not that price these days. If you're going to charge someone for old bread and oil at least bring them a plate to eat it on! Was either that which was on the bill for €2 or worse... Genuine mistake by waitress (language issue) as I asked if the mixed grill came with potatoes which she answered yesterday. They didn't come out so asked the waiter then where they were....5 mins later of my meat going cold and they arrived, a bowl for 2 people. At the till we sorted this out I thought, and the €2 service charge, €18 meal, wine at €5 and beer at €6 by my reckoning is €31, but he went with €33. I have been overcharged as a tourist 2 of 3 times I ate out in Sardinia, not once in Sicily. Meat was good other than the pork being the fattiest bit of belly I've seen and the salad little to be desired. Wouldn't go back personally as the experience left a bitter taste in my mouth but if you're Italian then I'm sure things will run more smoothly and the other dishes I saw looked better than the one I got.

We came to the restaurant to have small quick dinner and was a bit disappointed. Normally I would expect real Italian hospitality. Service was OK, food so/so. Pizza was no bad, but I tried better, my friend ordered calamari - it was disgusting.., she had one bite and was not able to finish. I told to the waitress that it was bad.., he smiled and no actions, just took a full plate back. They still charged us for calamari. Not recommended for food, perhaps drinks, bear, snacks.

We went there twice because the first time I eat horse steak and It was delicious. 13e for a big portion with French fries and salad. Very good prices and quality compared to other restaurants where we are other typical plates. Ravioli was also brilliant. The owner was very friendly and it’s great to see how sociable he is with clients

Hamburger restaurant
Fast food restaurant
Il Drago is a popular vegan eatery in Porto Torres that offers a wide selection of delicious plant-based burgers and panini. The menu boasts an extensive range of options, including mouthwatering choices like vegan bacon and homemade dairy-free cheese. Despite its fast-food-like atmosphere, the restaurant prides itself on using mostly organic ingredients. While some customers may find the ordering process confusing, there are plenty of nearby seating options available for those who wish to enjoy their meal on-site.
5/5! This is a place that's being easily overlooked but is well worth a visit. It's a small space, no real place to eat in, just a counter and a couple of chairs for waiting. The menu is large with plenty of vegan options, the food portions are insane! Paninis are priced at 6€ and are worth every cent. We recommend the Vegan Contadino Panini. Home-made special sauces are a hit, prices are low. Bring time, this place is well visited. 100% amazing.
Pascal B — Google review
Don't underestimate this unassuming, modest-looking place. The paninis they serve are top notch, with tons of vegan options to choose from. They make their own vegan cheese and also have vegan margherita pizza. Try the "Diablo" panini!!
Miranda — Google review
The vegan place to be in Porto Torres! There are a huge choice of vegan burgers and panini, with good vegan ingredients like bacon and even their home made vegan cheese! It is very cheap for the size and taste. This restaurant is a fast food like but most of the ingredients are organic. However, we waited a few moment and we were confused about how to order. You can't eat there but there are many seats nearby.

I spent 3 days in Porto Torres and this place was totally the best I’ve tried. Every early morning I had a great coffee served with a smile and all the staff, even though the place was always busy were lovely, attentive and very helpful and patient with my non existent Italian 😊 Pistachio and chocolate croissants are top and the savoury food was great choice for me to take away on my trips. It’s got an atmosphere and great vibe with all the locals and visitors. Thanks so much to all the lovely staff, really enjoyed every visit.

I stopped here for a beer. The place is spacious but clearly more oriented to passing travelers. Service was not very welcoming and the interior could be cleaner, though still acceptable. I give some stars mainly for the location, right by the port and facing the city’s symbolic tower.
Nidhal Z — Google review
The food was ok but nothing special. Calmars weren't freshly phished. Waiters were very kind but the owner was creating unpleasent atmosphere, making comments to waiters all the time and overall very expansive. We received different dish than we ordered but charged as per initial order. The price difference was nothing, but overall experience wasn't good due to owners bahavior.

Probably the best cappuccino en pastries in de region. Always stop here when coming of the ferries from Spain or france for a breakfast.

For us their paste, are a magnet 🧲! Everytime we passed by Porto Torres on line holiday, we stopped for their paste. We were recommended by friends the bombe, both with cream and chocolate! But my favorite is the pistacchio croissant! 😋

I order a Hamburger, get just a Steak with the cheapest salad ever. Fries were missing…Waiter was nice, but the person who made the payment wasn’t friendly… I would go somewhere else if you read this.

We came early because the ferry was not there yet. I didnt even have time to enter that she told me "è chiuso". She was cleaning and still the light were on we just wanted to take a coffee and warm. This is not a way to speak to customers. At least you can say hello, sorry i will open in 5minutes can you come back ?
