It is always beautiful, doesn't matter the season. You can see the fishermen working and the sealions having the time of their lives! There's also a street mall where you can buy souvenirs and support local vendors. Nearby there is a commercial center with different restaurants all owned by local familiels
Beautiful fishing port. Love to see the sea lions shining themselves. Nice little shopping area with great markets and restaurants.
Everything was OK only two incidents one on the beach almost got jumped by four people and then we took a guide or a taxi chauffeur and we found out later. He ripped us off large but lotta fun. Go to the SeaWorld enjoy it.
Love Mar del Plata, a beautiful place to visit and take wonderful pictures
This was a pleasant surprise to see the sea lions up so close. There were restaurants there but we didn't partake.
Beautiful spot great for that perfect picture shot. And the sea lions on point chilling.
Not the most beautiful dock I have ever been to, but still pretty nice. Located in the south part of mar del plata it can be reached by many public buses or walked along. Many old ships and history, boat trips, stores and especially the sea wolves are its main attractions. Be aware of the nasty smell though, especially on windy days!
It is a good place, quiet, with enough people if you go in high season. You must be able to withstand the smell of sea lion, it is quite strong. There are also small shops where you can sit down to eat or buy to go, they sell a lot of fish, all kinds, and other aquatic animals. If you don't like fish, there are also foods without it in the different places of fast food.

Excellent place to come have a light bite, coffee was decent and orange juice was fresh and large
Merienda: late afternoon tea time with friends. The location is really nice as it is right next to the ocean. You have seatings inside or outside, but it could get a bit chilly when the Sun is not out. Probably much warmer in the Summer which is a few weeks away… We ordered a latte, 2 hot chocolate (submarino which is way better than the regular hot chocolate made with powder!), an apple crumble, a medialuna and 2 medialunas with ham and cheese. My favorite is definitely the “submarino” which you should try while in town. The service was standard, however the downside of this place is the acoustics… not over crowded, but real noisy! Not very pleasant to have to raise your voice to chat with your friends or family. If you take a walk along the beach and need a quick stop then it is ok, but I would not plan to stay and enjoy the view because of the noise level…
Excellent place for a merienda, with plenty of options and delicious food and coffee. The service was quick and efficient, and the place is quiet, fresh and has great views. Highly recommended in Mar del Plata.
Overprice for the view. Food is bad. Bread is hard. Burger medallion is dry. Pasta is old. Tables are dirty, a waiter is slow.
Lovely setting. Food of high quality. Great service!
The cafe has a great seaview and it really brings the atmosphere. Coffee was average and the service also. Tranqi😂
The service is impeccable. Great atmosphere with a beautiful view. The food, however, was average. Steak was bland, and still raw and hard to cut. I suggest they also serve the bread hot. The sauces were good. The prices are expensive even for foreigners.
A perfect spot for a cuppa of chai tea and green smoothie! Spectacular view! The lovely waitress was very helpful and managed to communicate with this English speaking tourist!!

Middle of hot summer water is still feels fresh ,with some wave , but it’s wide clean beach with nice people In afternoon around 2-3 pm on Sunday become really busy Enjoyed my time 🍻
Definitely the kind of place you need to relax, think or just have some fun, there's a space for anything you might want to do here in Mar Del Plata and of course then there's the beach you won't want to leave.
I am here since 2 hours and no Choclo, Cerveza or Pancho saleaman came by! This is the worst Mar del Plata Beach EVER!

Wish they kept the place better for visitors to enjoy the true beauty of the building, its style and of course it inhabitants!

This historical house of the writer Victoria Ocampo was disappointed for me.Didnt have good maintenance, Almost not Family furnitures. They should charge 3 or more dollars and have it in better condition,or have a shop with merchandising to collect the money necessary!!!!
Lovely house and charming garden. Interesting exhibition about Victoria Ocampo. Regularly there are events and concerts. I went to a show CAFE CONCERT that was excellent with really talented artists.
For a while I felt I was in good ol' Southern Usa. Soothing place to have tea with friends and participate of a good cultural event if you know the language.

Very cool place to visit if you're in the area, and totally free. Opening hours were 8am-5pm and staff were very good at providing information about the tank tower. You can get an elevator to the top which offers amazing 360 views around Mar Del Plata, each side offering a very different view. If this review was helpful please give it a like :) enjoy
A small but interesting observation deck. The view is good. But special thanks to the very caring staff. We were with a small child and they helped us quickly get through and accompanied us at every step.
It's a nice place for a quick visit, full of history and an excellent view of the city. While going upstairs, you'll literally be surrounded by 5k liters of water. The staff attention is perfect.
Beautiful view! Friendly assistants giving information. There was no entry fee.
It has a nice view and you can have an assisted tour around it In 20-45 mins you should be done there.
Magnificent architecture. Great view. You can walk down the stairs to the little museum after being at the top.
Well worth a visit. It looks closed when you get there, but if you ring the door bell someone will come and let you in. Great views from the top and you can take the lift or stairs. There are (poor quality) pictures of the construction of the tower and some old artefacts to view. There isn't much else to do in Mar del Plata apart from beach and shopping, so a welcome break.

Museums
Striking modern museum focusing on contemporary art & sculpture, with tours & a cafe.
Slide 1 of 8
The MAR is a huge space, open, airy, and filled with plenty of room to let your mind wander. The exhibitions are beautifully framed, and the contemporary art on display is truly captivating. One piece that really caught my attention was a video about creating new organs, a thought provoking work that explores how far humans can go in manipulating animals for our own benefit, often without considering their souls. It was unsettling but fascinating at the same time. The only real downside was the condition of the bathrooms, they were dirty and had an unpleasant smell. Still, aside from that, visiting the MAR is a great experience, especially on a rainy Saturday when you’re looking for something inspiring to do in Mar del Plata.
Good place, free entrance. But the contemporary art could be different, and in this museum I felt it was like meh… If you can mess around with things and pit them in a museum, it’s not enough to name it art. But the museum itself is good. If you have some time in Mar Del Plata, that’s a go-to place.
Great exhibition at MAR in Mar del Plata. Nice building, good atmosphere. Amazing "MONDONGO" art display.
Excellent modern museum. Free entrance from 12 to 20. Highly recommended.
You must go, it's an amazing museam. It looks bigger from the outside but the few expositions are amazing. Very modern infrastructure, it worth it.
A good hide out place. No English though. Far from downtown. Very petite place with 3 rooms (the 4th is closed) of less than 30 items to see. Not crowded. Very commercial with little to no Argentina theme.
Nice and marvelous place to see and appreciate exposures from many artists
This is small but cool museum. It has a lot of multimedia as well as some more traditional art pieces. Very family friendly and right across the street from the ocean, which makes it a unique experience. Not a destination in itself, but definitely one of the things to do while in Mar del Plata

Very beautiful park, and area in general. I was here in the winter, so it was very quiet but I imagine it's amazing in the summer.
Perfectly clean park, full of paths and garbish bins.
Great view of the ocean and the beach ...the sound of the waves hitting the coast is a plus. Go there and have some mates...😎
Beatifull place to take a walk o just stop to enjoy the ocean view.

Food is incredibly delicious and portions are huge. No wander why Argentina is the best place to eat Italian food other than Italy. It's old school. Not fancy or pretentious. Service was faultless. Great value for money specially with foreign currencies. Highly recommended
Casa Vieja is one of the permanent stars in the Mar del Plata's culinary sky. They offer a good food at reasonable prices. Prices are not at budget levels but one gets a good value for his money. Fish and seafood dishes are very good and I found their pasta dishes excellent. Portions are generous, service is courteous. Because of its relative distance from the fashionable tourist spots, there is a good chance to secure a table at Casa Vieja on a short notice.
Good looking place and good ñoquis but its kinda dirty and no water came out of any of the bathrooms. There were flys around the restaurant nut overall good place. 8/10
Excellent as allways. They never fail. Incredible seafood, pasta and wonderful attention.

A quiet ecological place worth visiting in contact with nature. I has a beach of its own..You can watch dolphins as in marine land
My family and i really enjoy our visit to Aquarium and recommended to all who wish to bring your kids.
Great place to enjoy a full family fun day!!!
Although the place is tired looking, the staff is friendly and seeing the birds and fish was relaxing. Loved the sea lions - full of personality! Enjoyable for any age group!
So sad for them, this was probably once a great place to visit, but now there are hardly any animals. I'd give this a miss.
Very expensive and many of the exhibits were closed. We weren't allowed on the beach where our children wanted to play in the rock pools but weren't allowed. The shark section which had been heavily advertised was closed. Half of the aquariums were empty. The outside children's play area was a plastic, broken slide. The dolphin show however was very good. We complained and asked to write in the complaints book. They then provided us with a free lunch which began to make up for it but when you're paying such high prices for entry you expect more.
Small but very nicely set and clean. The activity with the sea lions was very nice. Great for older kids/teenagers.

A lovely square and park in Mar del Plata that sees liveliness throughout the day and even night. The park is filled with benches and walkways so people can either rest or have a long stroll through the park. The vibe is pretty nice and I spent a few hours just enjoying the weather. The park is full of people with dogs, people just passing through, having a few drinks and just hanging out with each other. I felt very safe by myself and had no problem at all.
It is a pleasant area to walk your dog or just sitting to enjoy the Sun or being outdoor. It is right across from the Grand Casino and right on the other side you can walk along the beaches which span over several kilometers. We are here for the second time and we enjoy it as much as the first time. Although it could be a bit noisy since there are a lot of visitors, and many are coming from all over Argentina as well as foreigners coming in the Summertime. There is also a merry go around for kids at one of the corners of the Plaza.
We visited the Fallas Valencianas exhibit. There was a place where typical Buñuelos (fried cakes) were served. Very kind people. They hold this event yearly, they are descendants of original immigrants.
A decent place to walk around for tourists and locals
A must visit for all Mar Del Plata travellers. Lots of amenities and events always going on around here. Tons of people, amenities, events and the beach being right there make this an excellent and immersive destination.
It's nice. The food stands hussle for customers and are over priced. There are outdoor vendors that sell souvenirs at really good prices. The beach area is a bit dirtier than the sides that are closer to the port.

Card games are fun, but damn slots barely pay anything back. I'll stick to poker.
Bad experience, did not accept us dollars nether changed money for pesos
It would be five stars if they respected the laws. They don't respect the change law number 22.802, I went with a $99,04 ticket to be changed and according to the updated law they have to give me $100 but they even have a sign saying they don't give less than $100 bills, this IS illigal. Besides on the roulette the mininum is $10 ARS when it's less in other casinos. The place is marvelous as you can see in the pictures and becose of covid they let you go to the balcony with a view to the sea. But to resume they want to screw you even more than other casinos in Bs.As.
The casino at Mar del Plata center was an exciting visit, I really enjoyed the slot machines, the chandeliers were magnificent.
Nice casino with some quirks. There are pigeons inside, cruising the bar area. And the women's bathrooms are a disgrace for such a nice casino.
Stay away. Been to casinos in many cities around the world, appreciate a game (black jack or poker) for the entertainment, not necessarily driven by win or loss. The Central Casino in Mar del Plata doesn't offer a nice athmosphere, it is rather seedy and employees do not seem to enjoy their work or treat guests with respect. To top it up, the casino blatantly stole 1.500 pesos of chips from my colleague. When asked for the camera/footage, they refused and did not entertain further conversation.
Pretty bad. There's no way to get money to gamble inside of the casino. The machines don't scan money or slips half the time. So annoying. We all left because of the bad experience.
It's a bit run down and doesn't have a lot in the way of atmosphere. Staff are very friendly, though.
