Mar del Plata in 5 days

If you only have 5 days to spend in Mar del Plata, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Mar del Plata is the principal seaside resort of Argentina. The city's oceanfront promenade among the longest and the beaches are popular vacation destinations in Argentina. In addition to the beaches, other attractions include the seaside casino and a number of nightclubs along the Escollera Norte area and Constitution Avenue.
With favorites like La Placita de Arenales, Tío Curzio, and Basílica de los Santos Pedro y Cecilia, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Pizzería Don Joe 1968 and Tío Curzio so you can get the best taste of Mar del Plata while you’re here. Restaurant
In Mar del Plata, the Torreón del Monje stands as an iconic architectural gem with its red turrets and medieval design, offering stunning views of the ocean. This complex also features a restaurant that has been updated to modern times. Nearby attractions include the Stella Maris Church, Torre Tanque water tower, and Mar del Plata Aquarium where visitors can encounter dolphins, penguins, sea lions, and tropical birds.
Excellent place to come have a light bite, coffee was decent and orange juice was fresh and large
Martin F — Google review
Merienda: late afternoon tea time with friends. The location is really nice as it is right next to the ocean. You have seatings inside or outside, but it could get a bit chilly when the Sun is not out. Probably much warmer in the Summer which is a few weeks away… We ordered a latte, 2 hot chocolate (submarino which is way better than the regular hot chocolate made with powder!), an apple crumble, a medialuna and 2 medialunas with ham and cheese. My favorite is definitely the “submarino” which you should try while in town. The service was standard, however the downside of this place is the acoustics… not over crowded, but real noisy! Not very pleasant to have to raise your voice to chat with your friends or family. If you take a walk along the beach and need a quick stop then it is ok, but I would not plan to stay and enjoy the view because of the noise level…
Bernard T — Google review
Super tasty fish and honestly the best calamari rings I’ve had. It is a bit pricey, especially since they don’t give you bread or any starters, but the cover charge is included. Still worth going.
Alena B — Google review
Excellent place for a merienda, with plenty of options and delicious food and coffee. The service was quick and efficient, and the place is quiet, fresh and has great views. Highly recommended in Mar del Plata.
Santiago A — Google review
Overprice for the view. Food is bad. Bread is hard. Burger medallion is dry. Pasta is old. Tables are dirty, a waiter is slow.
Egor K — Google review
Lovely setting. Food of high quality. Great service!
Sonette S — Google review
The service is impeccable. Great atmosphere with a beautiful view. The food, however, was average. Steak was bland, and still raw and hard to cut. I suggest they also serve the bread hot. The sauces were good. The prices are expensive even for foreigners.

Shopping mall
Shopping
Shopping Paseo Aldrey is an indoor mall with a transparent facade that houses 115 shops, a food court, movie theater, and cultural center. This shopping destination offers a wide range of options for purchasing clothes, footwear, accessories, appliances, electronics, and more. Additionally, there are various dining establishments available. The mall boasts two floors and is conveniently situated. It has a pleasant ambiance and employees who seem content.
Has everything you need to spend an afternoon with friends or family. Nice stores and environment. Great cinemas! The food court has a nice simple variety. Its close to one of the main Streets to go shop and also have some drinks or maybe go check pit a fancier restaurant. Also walking distance to the beach and one or two main attractions. I liked it.
Carla O — Google review
Nice shopping with most Argentinean known fashion brands. Crowded in general especially the food Court
Sergio R — Google review
The shopping was constructed as part of a restoration project on an old bus station. The idea was to use the historic building as a "cultural center" and rise the shopping structure beside, leaving a public open square in the middle. The end result is not quite satisfactory: there are a lot of concrete floors, almost no gardens, and due to the glass structures, children can't play here. The shopping floor is nice and clever, with a street running underneath, the access is a bit confusing at first, with no indication about the stairs or the restrooms, and overall the place still feels rushed. Brand selection is good and has high standards, and the interior deck floor is a nice place for a coffee. Prices are moderated to high, but discounts are frequent.
Darío R — Google review
Very nice shopping mall with plenty of options, stores to buy clothes, apparel, shoes, food, appliances, electronics and many more, as well as restaurants. It has 2 floors and it is pretty well located.
Trachemysta — Google review
Great atmosphere, happy staff, sub par coffee would recommend a strong pass. But they have a bar at night that I hope to visit before I leave Mar del Plata.
Ezio S — Google review
Disgusting place, just another shopping center. Nothing new. Pretentious and false cultural center. Where only famous and friends exhibition take place without sense. One more demonstration of the corrupted government and the auto homage of the man that thinks he's the best son of the city. It used to be buses central station along the past century, now it's just a disgusting place just for tourists and lost people
Radio K — Google review
Great shopping mall in the old and restored bus station. Many international and local brands are here plus a well set foodcourt and free wifi. The open times are short though and after 9 all the mall is closed but the foodcourt and cinema floors.

Manolo is a popular restaurant in Mar del Plata, Argentina, known for its great food and iconic location by Parque San Martin. With three branches across the city, including one right on the coast, it's a traditional stop for visitors to the 'Happy City.' The restaurant offers delicious seafood dishes and large dessert portions perfect for sharing with family and friends. While outdoor seating can be busy, the stunning views make it worth planning ahead.
A place to stop by when visiting the beach 🏖️. Its the iconic place in Mar del Plata and the food is always good but make sure to order it with less or no salt cuz otherwise you'll definitely experience what a sea water taste like. Best place to go with family and friends to enjoy the view while eating the best sea food.

We liked the pizza and the churros are fresh and delicious! But the calzones are actually just pies and not very good, and the cappuccino and coffee was terrible.

Tío Curzio is a classic spot in Mar del Plata, founded by an Italian immigrant couple in the mid-sixties. The house on Avenida Colon stands out for its architecture and privileged location with stunning views of Bahia Varese and Cabo Corrientes, visible from both the interior and the bustling terrace. The menu offers a wide variety of options, with favorites like black salmon ravioli with Morita sauce.

Beautiful restaurant near the coast. The place was recently remodeled and now includes a reserved area, a bar, and a party room overlooking the sea. Children have their playground, with constant supervision. Prices are high but adequate to the quality of the dishes and the service. Edit: After the last remodelation, they no longer have the playground available.

Best service for unforgettable breakfast and stunning views. I will highly recommend it:)
Daniel ( — Google review
When I gave the first look to the menu I thought ‘man, this is really expensive’. Then when I saw the five stars service we got I realize it was worth to pay the high prices. I think I was also lucky that the place was almost empty. I don’t know how it would’ve in a crowded day of January when mdq is most packed of people. One thing, after we payed in cash we realize that we had a credit card with discounts for the place. We asked the waitress to bring us the cash and pay with credit but she refused without even asking the cashier if that was possible. I’ll be definitely back anyway.
JRP — Google review
Great location but place needs serious upkeep! It's a landmark that's worth visiting but make sure you find a table with a nice view of the ocean.
Jeremias D — Google review
Great view and location. Pretty ambiance. Food was lacking on the executive menus. One of the 2 wines we ordered was out of stock. Great for the view, not so much the food though
Natalia S — Google review
I’m giving 2 stars, 1 for the view and 1 for the only server that came to us to apologized for the bad service we were having so far. Let’s start from the beginning: it were a sign on the front of the reception saying we have to wait to be seated so we did. After almost 10 min, considering we had people behind us waiting too, the staff were just trying to avoid all of us, so everybody start to took a seat by themselves. During lunch nobody would come to see if we were missing something at the table, even when you called their attention it took a lot to assist you, the waiters spent more time talking to each other than attending the tables. We ate a salad (it was ok) and fried calamari, but this last plate had to much oil on it from the fryer

when an institution is located by the ocean, on the beach and positions itself as "high cuisine", this obliges. guys, this is a shame. the food is tasteless. we ate steaks here, it's not argentinian steak, it's not tasty. we ate fish here, it's just fried tasteless not fresh fish. but the wok with seafood put the final cross on this institution - there were no noodles in it (?!), sauce - a mixture of engine oil, dirt, burnt onions and bitterness, it is not clear what, three poor, thin shrimp, 4 pieces of emaciated squid and a couple of lone mussels not fresh. it's a shame. the interior is old and not tidy.

This renowned and well-established fast-food franchise is famous for its delectable burgers and crispy fries. Despite some reservations about the cleanliness of an older location, the diligent staff's efforts to maintain a tidy environment are commendable. The discovery of pleasant and accommodating personnel, along with a serving of hot tea accompanied by fresh pastries, further enhanced the positive impression. Notably, unlike local establishments that tend to overcharge tourists, this McDonald's stood out for its fair pricing.
I might not go to this McDonald’s if it was in my hometown . It’s too old and not sure how clean it is , although stuff trying their best to keep the place clean- but I gotta give this place 5 because I found this place with nice staff , nice warm tea with couple of fresh small danishes and a place to charge my cellphone Need to mention that other local restaurants trying to overcharge you as soon as they find out your a tourist so that made me to like this MacDonald even more :) Hope you will have a good experience and you could enjoy your meal

A lovely square and park in Mar del Plata that sees liveliness throughout the day and even night. The park is filled with benches and walkways so people can either rest or have a long stroll through the park. The vibe is pretty nice and I spent a few hours just enjoying the weather. The park is full of people with dogs, people just passing through, having a few drinks and just hanging out with each other. I felt very safe by myself and had no problem at all.

It is a pleasant area to walk your dog or just sitting to enjoy the Sun or being outdoor. It is right across from the Grand Casino and right on the other side you can walk along the beaches which span over several kilometers. We are here for the second time and we enjoy it as much as the first time. Although it could be a bit noisy since there are a lot of visitors, and many are coming from all over Argentina as well as foreigners coming in the Summertime. There is also a merry go around for kids at one of the corners of the Plaza.

It would be five stars if they respected the laws. They don't respect the change law number 22.802, I went with a $99,04 ticket to be changed and according to the updated law they have to give me $100 but they even have a sign saying they don't give less than $100 bills, this IS illigal. Besides on the roulette the mininum is $10 ARS when it's less in other casinos. The place is marvelous as you can see in the pictures and becose of covid they let you go to the balcony with a view to the sea. But to resume they want to screw you even more than other casinos in Bs.As.

Sandeep S — Google review
Nice casino with some quirks. There are pigeons inside, cruising the bar area. And the women's bathrooms are a disgrace for such a nice casino.
Laura A — Google review
Stay away. Been to casinos in many cities around the world, appreciate a game (black jack or poker) for the entertainment, not necessarily driven by win or loss. The Central Casino in Mar del Plata doesn't offer a nice athmosphere, it is rather seedy and employees do not seem to enjoy their work or treat guests with respect. To top it up, the casino blatantly stole 1.500 pesos of chips from my colleague. When asked for the camera/footage, they refused and did not entertain further conversation.

Pretty bad. There's no way to get money to gamble inside of the casino. The machines don't scan money or slips half the time. So annoying. We all left because of the bad experience.

Nature & Parks
San Martín Park is a stunning coastal oasis that offers breathtaking views of the ocean, making it an ideal spot for both locals and tourists. Centered around a striking equine statue dedicated to a 19th-century Argentinian general, this park invites visitors to unwind while enjoying delicious treats like churros or medialunas. The beautifully manicured grounds provide ample opportunities for leisurely strolls or simply soaking in the serene atmosphere as waves crash against the shore.
Spectacular ocean front park. Beautiful high-rise buildings overlooking the coast, plenty of shopping, and the golf club is nearby. Unbelievably beautiful spot with monuments of Argentinian history! Perfectly and exquisitely manicured, great place to spend the afternoon people watching.

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Mar del Plata, Restaurante Manolo has been a beloved destination for summer visitors since the 1980s. This establishment is part of a family legacy that began in 1930 with the Santurian family’s first restaurant in Burgos, Spain. Over the years, Manolo has expanded its reach across several countries in Latin America and even into the United States.
It's great. The food is pretty good, although it is nothing out of this world, but you get a really wide range to choose from and the portions are insanely big. They were so big we had to ask about 3 times before we could find a plate for just 1 person and even that was questionable. The churros are simply amazing and should definitely be eaten with hot chocolate. We went there like 3 times in 3 days so i can't stress how good the place is. The only bad thing i saw was they didn't accept credit, just debit or cash, which is pretty inconvenient
Daniel E — Google review
The waiters at the time for take the other and further are so kind and fine people. The food make you claim for no more because of the good taste and the quantity they serve to you. The greatest Milanesas in this country side of Argentina, the tastier tallarines of the place and the churros, man, those are the preem here. The advantage they have, is compensated by the lack of service you have to wait until they ask your order, in this Manolo's placement, my family and I have to wait like an hour outside in the boulevard in the entire half-block to get seats. Maybe I sound like the choosen one in the way I'm mad with this, but I know they have a thing that they need to work for develop that disadvantage. If you're looking for a Manolo's to eat with your family, go to the one is nearby of La reserva de Lobos Marinos, in that road side to the coast.

Mar Cocina Suratlántica is the latest culinary gem nestled within the Costa Galana hotel, taking over from La Bourgone. With the expert guidance of renowned chef Pedro Bargero, alongside talented chefs Sol Salerno and Mauro Trinarolli, this restaurant showcases a deep appreciation for marine ingredients. Each dish reflects Bargero's commitment to maximizing the flavors of fish, seafood, and even seaweed sourced from Argentina’s rich waters.
(Translated by Google) Beautiful place! The attention more than perfect! For food they brought us some complimentary snacks, which were very kind in offering me pregnancy-friendly alternatives. We ordered some sweetbreads as a starter which were very good! And for main we ordered the chernia and the sole. The chernia was spectacular, but I think the sole lacked flavor, although it wasn't bad. For dessert, there were no options that had caught our attention, so we didn't order. The dishes are abundant and very nice presentation. The waiter who served us was really very friendly at all times. The atmosphere is really very nice, even the bathroom has a very Instagrammable anteroom hahaha. They have valet parking but we couldn't use it because it was full, and unfortunately it was raining, so we had to park in front and cross. It has a discount with Santander mode. (Original) Hermoso lugar!

From the start, the experience was impeccable: the staff was professional, attentive, and able to explain each ingredient clearly and passionately. The dishes arrived with excellent presentation, carefully presented down to the last detail. The portions were adequate, not excessive, because the true value lies in the unique combination of flavors: a brilliant fusion of regional cuisine and touches of international gastronomy that surprises with every bite. The highlight was the chocolate cake, in which I managed to discover a surprise ingredient that elevated the dessert to another level. Sincere applause for the chef, who demonstrates not only technique but also creativity and culinary sensitivity. Anyone looking for "big plates" probably doesn't understand the concept of this gastronomic proposal. That's what fast food is for. You come here to live an experience. (Translated by Google) A very good dining experience, with carefully prepared dishes and flavors that are enhanced in each dish. The appetizers offer very delicate and exquisite flavors. The chernia (black grouse) served with humita purée as a main course is incredible, and finally, the reworked balcarse (bad-fish) is incredibly well executed. A very warm atmosphere with ocean views completes this high-end restaurant. The wine list is a bit high in price and lacks innovative white wine options to pair with fish. Highly recommended, without a doubt.

I saw many comments that the prices were high, but the truth is that they seemed great to me and in line with the proposal. The food is very delicious and exclusive. (Translated by Google) I wasn't planning on writing this review, but I think you should get your money's worth. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere, the service is good, with very attentive staff. Regarding the food, I think they're too gourmet; the dishes are minimal and, overall, not worth the price. As a courtesy, they brought us a black pudding alfajor, a tartar, and a mini croissant filled with anchovies. The tartar was very good, but the other two options were completely forgettable. As a starter, the anchovy escabeche was nothing to write home about. For main courses, we had grilled sole (which was okay) and the restaurant's signature dish, black hake ($36,000 in September 2024). Disgraceful. Three pieces of hake, accompanied by an onion and a puree (I must admit, excellent). Topping the dish was hake cheek (stringy, tasteless, inedible). I'm reassured that I shared my opinion of the dish with the maitre d'… There are many places in Mar del Plata with this type of menu, and I think of them all, Mar Cocina Suratlantica is the worst. I would never go back. No volvería nunca.

La Placita de Arenales, situated near Plaza Colon, is a charming eatery that offers a diverse selection of Italian and Argentinian classics. This local institution has managed to maintain its quality even after the pandemic struck. Their pizza and calzone are of exceptional taste, while their pasta dishes, particularly those with bolognese sauce, are homemade-style and delicious. The empanadas are also highly recommended for their remarkable flavor.

(Translated by Google) A small place, but with enormous charm. From the moment we walked in, we felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere. We tried the pizza and were truly surprised: the dough was just right between crispy and fluffy, and the sauce had a homemade flavor, one of those that make you want to come back. The service was quick and very friendly, but what we liked most was the owner's thoughtfulness, making the rounds between tables to make sure everyone was enjoying their food. The love and dedication are evident in every dish, and it's no coincidence: with over 40 years of history, this place has managed to win over longtime customers, those who continue to choose it as their second home. Definitely a place that makes you want to return. Highly recommended!

(Translated by Google) Disappointment doesn't even begin to cover it... this pizzeria was recommended to us, but we didn't like it at all. The pizzas are tiny. The 6-slice pizza is the size of a single-serving pizza anywhere else. The crust was rubbery and tasteless, and the toppings were meager and poor. We ordered the most basic items: mozzarella and a fugazzeta that didn't even have onions... in fact, they made a mistake and put mozzarella on everything. Let's just say calling that cheese mozzarella is a stretch! The menu has thousands of pretentious pizzas, but if they can't even get the basics right, I don't know if I trust them. And the prices are a whole other story—extremely high for the quality of the product. The only good thing is the atmosphere, but you don't go to a pizzeria just for that. I'm even posting a picture of the inside instead of the pizza because I felt bad for what they brought us!

Puerto de Mar del Plata is a vibrant hub of activity, where the salty sea air mingles with the tantalizing aroma of fresh seafood. This bustling port, located just 8 kilometers south of the city center, is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Argentina's rich maritime culture. As you stroll along the docks, you'll be captivated by the sight of colorful fishing boats and may even catch a glimpse of playful sea lions scavenging for scraps.
It is always beautiful, doesn't matter the season. You can see the fishermen working and the sealions having the time of their lives! There's also a street mall where you can buy souvenirs and support local vendors. Nearby there is a commercial center with different restaurants all owned by local familiels

Not the most beautiful dock I have ever been to, but still pretty nice. Located in the south part of mar del plata it can be reached by many public buses or walked along. Many old ships and history, boat trips, stores and especially the sea wolves are its main attractions. Be aware of the nasty smell though, especially on windy days!
Trachemysta — Google review
It is a good place, quiet, with enough people if you go in high season. You must be able to withstand the smell of sea lion, it is quite strong. There are also small shops where you can sit down to eat or buy to go, they sell a lot of fish, all kinds, and other aquatic animals. If you don't like fish, there are also foods without it in the different places of fast food.

Restaurant
Mirador Waikiki is a restaurant located in Mar del Plata, Argentina, offering an immersive view of the sea. The spacious balcony provides a stunning and unique panoramic view of the Mar del Plata beaches, the harbor, and the city. It is known for its charming ambiance and serves a variety of bar food, seafood, as well as contemporary Argentine cuisine. The beach at Waikiki is popular for its family-friendly and tranquil atmosphere with low waves that are safe for children.
A large restaurant with large portions. If you are very hungry, then this is definitely the place for you. The risotto had a lot of seafood, the fish was very juicy. I would like to separately note the friendly and caring staff. And also convenient parking. During popular hours there may be a line to get in.

We went for a tea with friends. Prices are okay, the food was good. Note the brownie was a little bit too dry. Nevertheless coffee was actually not burnt (big plus).
Misak B — Google review
Very disappointing for the restaurant next to the beaches with fairly high prices. The food was barely « cafeteria » standards and the taste of the different items ordered in our group was below average. One of the worst plate was the seafood vermicelli: pasta was more thick and far from vermicelli, it was over cooked, the seafood (shrimps, scallops and mussels) was also over cooked because the shrimps and scallops were hard! The pasta and seafood was bathed in a tomato soup rather than a sauce! Overall it is not a place I would recommend or don’t expect much if you decide to live the experience…

The experience was quite enjoy full and funny, if you have some lucky and cash enough. We arrived being 13.30 to enjoy the afternoon at the parador, with a typical sunny and windy day. We have the lucky to have a cover parking place, to avoid enter to owen instead to the car when returning the beach. We went to the terrace of the resto for a beer and something for lunch. And the service was just few for the demand in this period of the year. Also you will need your credit card because just an industrial beer is almost 5usd. The food is of good quality. And the place has a admirable open view to the ocean and the city.

Very disappointed with this restaurant. We went there for my wife’s birthday. We had been walking around the beach and were not dressed as nice as some of the other clients. They made us wait an hour to be seated. They put us in the back, away from the vista, even though there were tables available in front. After that, they first served customers who came in after us, and would not even pay attention to us. I would never go to this place. They treat their customers like dogs.

Torre Tanque, an imposing Gothic-style building declared a National Historic Architectural Monument, offers breathtaking views of the entire city from its 88-meter height. Visitors can enjoy a cool-off at nearby water parks with slides, wave machines, and zip lines after climbing the tower. Additionally, the Diagonal de los Artesanos craft fair in the beautiful residential neighborhood of Stella Maris is perfect for finding handmade jewelry and leather goods.
Very cool place to visit if you're in the area, and totally free. Opening hours were 8am-5pm and staff were very good at providing information about the tank tower. You can get an elevator to the top which offers amazing 360 views around Mar Del Plata, each side offering a very different view. If this review was helpful please give it a like :) enjoy

Well worth a visit. It looks closed when you get there, but if you ring the door bell someone will come and let you in. Great views from the top and you can take the lift or stairs. There are (poor quality) pictures of the construction of the tower and some old artefacts to view. There isn't much else to do in Mar del Plata apart from beach and shopping, so a welcome break.

Regrettable dining experience. Ordered pasta with shrimp, as recommended the white sauce. Disappointingly, the dish lacked flavor—boiled pasta hastily mixed with cream, raw onions, and tasteless boiled shrimp. No culinary skills evident. Easily my worst restaurant experience in years.

Really good place to sit and enjoy the weather, beer was perfectly cold, fried calamari was delicious and the sea food salad was good and fresh, wouldn't recomend fried fish.

A staple of MDQ, it's worth the visit only as far as you value being a part of that tradition. By no means a bad place, but nowhere near the best the city has to offer. If anything, you can say its worth visitors for the experience, if not the food itself.

La Cabaña Del Bosque, also known as La Casa de te, is a charming tea house located in the forested area of Mar del Plata. Despite being a bit secluded, it's a delightful spot to visit with friends for tea and dessert. The restaurant is adorned with antiques and features a lovely garden where you can enjoy your beverages served in beautiful china.
Must visit place! Perfect, tasty tea, good selection of food for any taste and diet. Very friendly and quick service. Ideal place to relax and enjoy the life.

The cakes are okay but not excellent. I tried a lavender tea that didn’t taste like lavender. People here are not as kind as they should when you ask for information about the food service. The food is VERY EXPENSIVE. I added two stars just because the environment is really pretty but other than that everything else is ordinary. We bought a tea, one cappuccino and two cakes everything for $43500 around €40. Nuts.
Magali G — Google review
The place itself is nice, but they have the dumbest rule ever (it’s written with smaller letters in the very end of menu). You can’t share a tea pot whit your family! Each person must order a drink (3 usd for water, 11 usd for a small tea pot, 12 usd for a cocktail), doesn’t matter if you ordered food. Lots of free tables in the middle of the day…

Restaurant
Los Garcia is a fantastic place for meat enthusiasts, as it offers a true test of stamina. The salad bar, by Argentine standards, is outstanding and they even start you off with a small assortment of appetizers before diving into the main courses. With 8 courses of mouth-watering cuts brought to your table, they have all the classic Argentine favorites except for sweetbreads. Families can expect to thoroughly enjoy the entire dining experience and will undoubtedly want to return on their next visit to Argentina.
We got the Menú Libre (Parrilla Libre), the meat was excellent, the Oscar, the waiter bringing the sword with the meat was super duper lovely! The other staff was decent but they took a long time to take our order and we had to grab our menu from the reception ourselves after five minutes of waiting, the receptionist could have used a smile every now and then 🙂 The price was fair for the taste and how much you eat, salads were plentiful and empanadas

A great parrilla restaurant in one of the hot spot neighborhoods here in Mar del Plata! It's a very popular spot and rightfully so. The food is great and the experience was lovely. They have some great wines on the menu for you to enjoy with their food. I highly recommend checking this place out if you love Argentinian style meat! They have two menu options for you too choose from. An XL and XS menu. Both menu's contain an empenada, chorizo, blood sausage, meat and a side dish. The difference is just 1.000 ARS but in the XL you get a little bit of everything and a side salad and in the XS menu you get to choose 1 meat option and a chosen side dish. The food is great! I had the XS option with the Bife de chorizo, two chorizo's (I'm not a fan of blood sausage) and fries on the side. The portions are very big and the fries were freaking perfect!!! After 6 months I can safely say that these are the best fries I've had here. Crispy and thin! The steak was plentiful and cooked well done. Note that they cook all of the meat one way. Close to well done. Due to their menu, they just cook every item in bulk on skewers and distributed them to the XL menu diners. So if you don't like the Argentinian way, you have to go somewhere else but I implore you, the quality and taste is great! The staff was very great despite the wait. I think they were a bit understaffed because multiple tables had to wait a bit before someone could help but I don't think it's the restaurants fault. Despite this, our waiter was amazing. He was kind, patient and helped everyone out as quickly as possible. Everyone on the staff was kind, knowledgeable and happy to help us! All in all a very great experience and I'd give this spot a 4.5⭐.

I mean, I ordered bife de chorizo, medium rare and I got this... Also went by myself and they took forever to take my ordr and bring me the bill, I had to go to the counter to pay because of how long they took. You would likely have a better experience if you order their menu libre to try all the meats.

Food was mediocre, at best. Meats were fatty and salty. My mother ordered pollo al verdeo and it was SO SALTY she couldn't eat it. We still had to pay for it despite her only taking a few bites. The fries were AWFUL! They were fries that had been made, gotten cold, & then flash fried to be re-served. 🤮 The best part of the meal was the berenjenas al escabeche. DO NOT waste your time or money!

Los Garcìa is a true test of endurance for meat lovers, the all you can eat salad bar is great by Argentina's standards and they start you off with a small picada and empanadas before you even start! A very nice fish restaurant in the port of Mar del Plata. Located in an American style diner area with lots of other restaurant, Puerto de Palos does not seem to have trouble attracting customers to enjoy the experience. It was a very nice evening and I really enjoyed myself here. Specialized in fish dishes, this restaurant has a varied menu so everyone can indulge into something they prefer. The theme of the restaurant is also lovely with a lot of Spanish influences like football scarves from big clubs like FC Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and also small clubs like Real Madrid and Leganes. They also have some lovely pots and pans as decoration on the walls. It's a very nice atmosphere! The food was pretty delicious I have to say. We ordered a chorizo and gamba's in garlic as starters and both were absolutely amazing. The chori was flavourful and juicy. The gambas were garlicy and great taste to it. As a main I ordered the fish of the day with a tomato/eggplant/olives salad. The fish was very nice and soft but with a crispy skin. I'm not a fan of olives or eggplant but this tasted great! I'd definitely recommend you visiting this place :) The staff was truly wonderful! The host was kind, interactive and really proactive. Helping when necessary, very polite to everyone coming in and going out. Our waiter was a lovely guy who gave us the best care possible. He asked us a few times how everything was going and made sure we had everything we needed. A lovely experience all around and I understand why it was so busy. I'd give this a 4.5⭐!

We ordered squid as a starter, a catch of the day with Roquefort cheese, ham and cheese sorrentinos with four cheeses, vegetable ravioli with mixed sauce, and a Neapolitan veal Milanese with fries. Everything was delicious and tasty. For dessert, they bring a multi-tiered tray where they present each person, something that caught our attention and made us want to order one. In our case, we ordered flan with cream and dulce de leche, and the kids had a fruit salad (which included several of these). The bathrooms are located on the first floor, accessed by a staircase. The Provincial Museum of Contemporary Art MAR, also known as the MAR Museum, is a striking modern museum located on the waterfront promenade in the north of the city. The building itself is a modern standout with a large sea lion sculpture covered in wrappers of famous local alfajores. Inside, visitors can explore temporary works by local, national, and international artists. This museum offers tours and has a cafe for visitors to enjoy.
The MAR is a huge space, open, airy, and filled with plenty of room to let your mind wander. The exhibitions are beautifully framed, and the contemporary art on display is truly captivating. One piece that really caught my attention was a video about creating new organs, a thought provoking work that explores how far humans can go in manipulating animals for our own benefit, often without considering their souls. It was unsettling but fascinating at the same time. The only real downside was the condition of the bathrooms, they were dirty and had an unpleasant smell. Still, aside from that, visiting the MAR is a great experience, especially on a rainy Saturday when you’re looking for something inspiring to do in Mar del Plata.

Good place, free entrance. But the contemporary art could be different, and in this museum I felt it was like meh… If you can mess around with things and pit them in a museum, it’s not enough to name it art. Trattoria Napolitana Vespoli is a must-visit restaurant in the city, known for its fresh and high-quality Italian cuisine. With its own owners attending to guests, this trattoria offers a delectable selection of freshly made pastas using top-notch ingredients. The specialty here is the sorrentinos with various flavorful sauces, while the tiramisu also deserves a special mention for its exquisite taste.
Is one of the best places to eat in Mar del Plata. The food is superb. The place has a rich history and the personnel is very kind.

This is a really authentic Italian Trattoria in a beautiful seaside City. Best if you share with family and friends. Specialty Sorrentino.
Carlos A — Google review
Update: we finally went back for the lasagna and it was literally the worst lasagna we’ve ever had. And very expensive, the equivalent of over 20 dollars just for the lasagna dish. So the prices are no longer reasonable and the quality has plummeted. I think if you served this food to an Italian they might punch you in the face. We went to try their lasagna but they only make it on certain days apparently. We got the ham and cheese sorrentinos which were fine but nothing special and we got a dry mostachol dish the waiter recommended. The pasta was so overcooked it wasn’t edible. If a trattoria is going to have dry pasta on the menu they should know how to properly cook it! The service was good and the prices were reasonable.

The friendly staff and delicious food at reasonable prices make it a great choice for visitors.
Good job to the workers very friendly and happy to help in everything. The food was delicious and the prices were fine, and if you compare to the quality it was surely value for its money (like 10€ per plate comparing to argentina pesos but for that quality totally worth it). I would recommend this place at least for one time if you visit mar del plata. Bravo👏👏

Since 1977. The best fish I ate in Argentina. Everything is created very typical for Argentina's fish. The ambiance is good, too. A few of the pick-up food restaurants. Others you have to eat in.

The place is nice, make your reservations early if you really want to eat inside. Tables are very close to each other. As for the food I didn't try the house specialties, went for spaghetti instead. The presentation of the dish was subpar and so was the taste, specially for the above average price for the dish. It felt like a supermarket food combo rather than made by a human in a kitchen.

(Translated by Google) For over 20 years, I’ve been stopping by Mini. If I happen to be passing by that street, I’ll always enjoy a few slices on the go, until one unpleasant afternoon when the man delivering the slices told me that the slice of pizza sitting on the counter (which had been cold for a while) was the one I’d be lucky enough to get! I asked if I could heat it up… to which he replied… no…. An unexpected response, which disconcerted me, but didn’t change the employee’s attitude. Of course, I wouldn’t eat something that wasn’t in the optimal conditions that Mini had accustomed me to. I left and paid for the combo, hoping that the employee would eat what he had sadly wanted to offer me. … no….

Water & Amusement Parks
Aquopolis is a vibrant aquatic theme park that offers an array of colorful waterslides and pool areas designed for children. This lively destination provides a wide selection of food options, ensuring an enjoyable experience for visitors. While some suggest the need for more sizable pools suitable for non-swimmers and individuals who prefer not to ride water slides, overall, Aquopolis is regarded as a remarkable and highly recommended venue. It serves as an amazing summer destination and can be enjoyed with both family and friends.
Amazing place to come and enjoy in the summer. I came with family and friends in early February. It was a great experience, amenities, parks, pools, working great. Also consider that the park has food stores inside so you won't miss anything.

Emilio A — Google review
Very nice place to spend a sunny day, just for $11, you can bring your own food and also buy there. A lot of moderate and extreme slides. Will come back again!
Aurelius I — Google review
A very nice and entertaining place with so much diverse food options. I really enjoyed it, but there should be more big pools like the one that is at the entrance because it's appropriate for people who don't know how to swim and can't ride water slides. Despite that, it's such a magnificent place and I totally recommend it!
Selene A — Google review
What they don't say on the pamphlets: queues to get the equipment and second queue to enter the ride. Queues are long. We paid ARS850.00 each however about 1/3 of the rides were closed. The remaining ones are in need of repair and investment. There are leaks and rust on every slide. The quality of the water in the slides and pools is the type you don't want to swallow. Toilets small and dirty. The food places also full of unhealthy selections and pricey. Even though it is the end of the summertime it was very crowded made worse by all the ride closures. It gets 1 star because there were nice staff members and the rides that worked were fun. However, there are no "normal" slides for adults: either you take an extreme slide or you don't slide. Not made for overweight people either... restrictions on weights make it impossible for big people to enjoy anything other than feel uncomfortable and left out. The parking was free. The kiddie pools are nice, water dirty. I shall not return nor recommend the park to anyone. As an additional comment, last week was when a couple had a horrible accident that required major stitches to both victims and the park tried to minimize the incident. I already had the tickets so went anyway and regretted it after only 1 hour.

Very expensive and many of the exhibits were closed. We weren't allowed on the beach where our children wanted to play in the rock pools but weren't allowed. The shark section which had been heavily advertised was closed. Half of the aquariums were empty. The outside children's play area was a plastic, broken slide. The dolphin show however was very good. We complained and asked to write in the complaints book. They then provided us with a free lunch which began to make up for it but when you're paying such high prices for entry you expect more.

We live far away and we couldn't go and return them, as that would have been ideal. We also bought the portion of potato cake, it is not pleasant to look at, regular flavor, little filling, a lot of puree. I do not recommend the place, we will not buy again. Awful. Horrible.

(Translated by Google) I went to this place with great enthusiasm since it had been recommended to me. what a disappointment!! The empanadas are very average and that they are "the specialty" I ordered a lentil stew and it was ACID, in bad condition. I returned it and left. The attention of the girl, terrible, indifferent and somewhat haughty.

(Translated by Google) I went without knowing why it was recommended to me. When I arrived it was full but I ordered empanadas to go and a chicken milanese that is quite delicious and the empanadas were warm and delicious like the ones my mother made me, recommended of course to eat and to take away 😃 (Original) Fui sin conocer por qué me lo recomendaron cuando llegué estaba lleno pero pedí para llevar empanadas y una milanesa de pollo que está bastante rica y las empanadas calentitas y ricas como las que me hacía mi mamá recomendable por supuesto para comer y para llevar 😃

(Translated by Google) A historic spot in Mar del Plata. If you want to stop by for a good locro, I recommend El Ceibo. It's authentic Argentine cuisine with great flavors... they even provide the seasonings, like the photo, so you can add whatever flavor you want! Delicious. The place is small but very quiet, with lovely people. The waitress who serves is a genius. The prices are affordable, and the dishes are delicious, filling, and beautifully presented. A great way to treat yourself. Thanks! Gracias!

(Translated by Google) Very delicious pizzas. On this occasion we ordered empanadas and they were also excellent. Terrible service, a joke. They said they were outside and no one was there, they called me and spoke badly to me, insulted the delivery man who brought them, a bad time. (Original) Las pizzas muy ricas. (Translated by Google) The best pizzas in Mar del Plata. Just one more thing to add: the pizza can't arrive this way. You'd have to be a little careful with the food. It's worth noting that it was pre-ordered, and I don't know if it's your problem. I'll always choose you for your great pizzas and crafts.
