A quiet ecological place worth visiting in contact with nature. I has a beach of its own..You can watch dolphins as in marine land

Although the place is tired looking, the staff is friendly and seeing the birds and fish was relaxing. Loved the sea lions - full of personality! Enjoyable for any age group!
Bonnie K — Google review
So sad for them, this was probably once a great place to visit, but now there are hardly any animals. I'd give this a miss.
Deana E — Google review
Very expensive and many of the exhibits were closed. We weren't allowed on the beach where our children wanted to play in the rock pools but weren't allowed. The shark section which had been heavily advertised was closed. Half of the aquariums were empty. The outside children's play area was a plastic, broken slide. The dolphin show however was very good. We complained and asked to write in the complaints book. They then provided us with a free lunch which began to make up for it but when you're paying such high prices for entry you expect more.

Small but very nicely set and clean. The activity with the sea lions was very nice. Great for older kids/teenagers.

Located at Matheu 1851, Centro Cultural Villa Victoria Ocampo was once the residence of renowned writer Victoria Ocampo. In the 1920s and 1930s, it served as a gathering place for artists and intellectuals such as Jorge Luis Borges, Gabriela Mistral, Rabindranath Tagore, Adolfo Bioy Casares, and Igor Stravinsky.
Nice quiet place, away from city noise. I couldn't go inside because it was a holiday. But I took a walk in the garden. Nearby there is a cafe where you can eat. I liked this place, it's a great place to work with a laptop or read a book.

Playa Punta Mogotes is a vibrant coastal complex located in the south of Malplatense city, featuring over 24 beaches along more than 4 kilometers of coastline. Visitors can enjoy various amenities such as lifeguards, restrooms, sports facilities, bars, and restaurants. The area also includes the Lagunas de Punta Mogotes, a protected area with beautiful natural lagoons forming one of the country's richest aquifers.

In Mar del Plata, the Torreón del Monje stands as an iconic architectural gem with its red turrets and medieval design, offering stunning views of the ocean. This complex also features a restaurant that has been updated to modern times. Nearby attractions include the Stella Maris Church, Torre Tanque water tower, and Mar del Plata Aquarium where visitors can encounter dolphins, penguins, sea lions, and tropical birds.
Excellent place to come have a light bite, coffee was decent and orange juice was fresh and large
Martin F — Google review
Merienda: late afternoon tea time with friends. The location is really nice as it is right next to the ocean. You have seatings inside or outside, but it could get a bit chilly when the Sun is not out. Probably much warmer in the Summer which is a few weeks away… We ordered a latte, 2 hot chocolate (submarino which is way better than the regular hot chocolate made with powder!), an apple crumble, a medialuna and 2 medialunas with ham and cheese. My favorite is definitely the “submarino” which you should try while in town. The service was standard, however the downside of this place is the acoustics… not over crowded, but real noisy! Not very pleasant to have to raise your voice to chat with your friends or family. If you take a walk along the beach and need a quick stop then it is ok, but I would not plan to stay and enjoy the view because of the noise level…
Bernard T — Google review
Excellent place for a merienda, with plenty of options and delicious food and coffee. The service was quick and efficient, and the place is quiet, fresh and has great views. Highly recommended in Mar del Plata.

Overprice for the view. Food is bad. Bread is hard. Burger medallion is dry. Pasta is old. Tables are dirty, a waiter is slow.

The service is impeccable. Great atmosphere with a beautiful view. The food, however, was average. Steak was bland, and still raw and hard to cut. I suggest they also serve the bread hot. The sauces were good. The prices are expensive even for foreigners.

Torre Tanque, an imposing Gothic-style building declared a National Historic Architectural Monument, offers breathtaking views of the entire city from its 88-meter height. Visitors can enjoy a cool-off at nearby water parks with slides, wave machines, and zip lines after climbing the tower. Additionally, the Diagonal de los Artesanos craft fair in the beautiful residential neighborhood of Stella Maris is perfect for finding handmade jewelry and leather goods.
Very cool place to visit if you're in the area, and totally free. Opening hours were 8am-5pm and staff were very good at providing information about the tank tower. You can get an elevator to the top which offers amazing 360 views around Mar Del Plata, each side offering a very different view. If this review was helpful please give it a like :) enjoy

Well worth a visit. It looks closed when you get there, but if you ring the door bell someone will come and let you in. Great views from the top and you can take the lift or stairs. There are (poor quality) pictures of the construction of the tower and some old artefacts to view. There isn't much else to do in Mar del Plata apart from beach and shopping, so a welcome break.

Art museum
The Provincial Museum of Contemporary Art MAR, also known as the MAR Museum, is a striking modern museum located on the waterfront promenade in the north of the city. The building itself is a modern standout with a large sea lion sculpture covered in wrappers of famous local alfajores. Inside, visitors can explore temporary works by local, national, and international artists. This museum offers tours and has a cafe for visitors to enjoy.
The MAR is a huge space, open, airy, and filled with plenty of room to let your mind wander. The exhibitions are beautifully framed, and the contemporary art on display is truly captivating. One piece that really caught my attention was a video about creating new organs, a thought provoking work that explores how far humans can go in manipulating animals for our own benefit, often without considering their souls. It was unsettling but fascinating at the same time. The only real downside was the condition of the bathrooms, they were dirty and had an unpleasant smell. Still, aside from that, visiting the MAR is a great experience, especially on a rainy Saturday when you’re looking for something inspiring to do in Mar del Plata.
Jose G — Google review
Good place, free entrance. But the contemporary art could be different, and in this museum I felt it was like meh… If you can mess around with things and pit them in a museum, it’s not enough to name it art. But the museum itself is good. If you have some time in Mar Del Plata, that’s a go-to place.

Fede M — Google review
This is small but cool museum. It has a lot of multimedia as well as some more traditional art pieces. Very family friendly and right across the street from the ocean, which makes it a unique experience. Not a destination in itself, but definitely one of the things to do while in Mar del Plata

Nestled in the heart of Mar del Plata, the Stella Maris Church stands as a stunning example of neo-Gothic architecture. Built in 1908, its enchanting facade invites visitors into a serene space that fosters introspection and connection with spirituality.

(Translated by Google) A haven of peace and neo-Gothic beauty on the Stella Maris hill. Impressive neo-Gothic architecture: a bell tower with a Westminster-style clock, a narthex, a rose window, and buttresses enhance the ensemble. – Interior carefully designed down to the smallest detail: a marble high altar with bronze and blue enamel, pointed arches, and a mural evoking the sea, added in 1940. Image of the Virgin Stella Maris, sculpted in marble in Paris by H. Weigel (a disciple of Rodin), with a pedestal simulating waves, a rock crystal crown, and a halo of stars. Inaugurated between 1910 and 1912 by the local community with a contribution from the Argentine Navy, it was the first church in the country to dedicate the worship of the Virgin Stella Maris, patron saint of fishermen and sailors. Tranquility and serenity prevail. The stained-glass windows filter the light, creating a contemplative atmosphere ideal for reflection or moments of connection. Spiritual. Visitors highlight the “peace,” “positive energy,” and a “special effect” around the altar. Simply beautiful. Sencillamente hermosa.

While there, you may also have the chance to observe about 150 sea lions lounging on the dockside.

The one food stall was very rough and looked dirty; you couldn't call it a restaurant. Everything was very basic. They should put together something better and of a higher standard. Not even the sea lions go near it, and they know their fish. (Original) no me gustó .3 puestos de recuerdos. 2 de conservas... It would be five stars if they respected the laws. They don't respect the change law number 22.802, I went with a $99,04 ticket to be changed and according to the updated law they have to give me $100 but they even have a sign saying they don't give less than $100 bills, this IS illigal. Besides on the roulette the mininum is $10 ARS when it's less in other casinos. The place is marvelous as you can see in the pictures and becose of covid they let you go to the balcony with a view to the sea. But to resume they want to screw you even more than other casinos in Bs.As.

Nice casino with some quirks. There are pigeons inside, cruising the bar area. And the women's bathrooms are a disgrace for such a nice casino.
Laura A — Google review
Stay away. Been to casinos in many cities around the world, appreciate a game (black jack or poker) for the entertainment, not necessarily driven by win or loss. The Central Casino in Mar del Plata doesn't offer a nice athmosphere, it is rather seedy and employees do not seem to enjoy their work or treat guests with respect. To top it up, the casino blatantly stole 1.500 pesos of chips from my colleague. When asked for the camera/footage, they refused and did not entertain further conversation.

The theater has hosted legendary figures in music and dance such as Maria Callas, Luciano Pavarotti, and Rudolf Nureyev.

Amazing piece of modern architecture! It's so sad to see the government or other investors are not seriously financing a retauration to its full potential. It looks like an aftermath of a bomb detonated inside. You can still sense the perfect proportions and detail aims from the original design. We were able to have a short conversation with the university department encharged of protecting the project, they have the intellectual forces but like I said, they need some serious investments. They were kind enough to teach us a bit from the history of the residence in connection to its author, Amancio Williams.

We enjoyed this free tour and visiting all the rooms of the house. What can be improved: would be nice to give an education language course for guides to provide an English tour. It will improve their language skills, set new KPI for workers, attract more visitors from abroad. Amancio Williams was a brilliant architect and he deserves to be known not only by Argentinians and Spanish people, but worldwide.

Casino Buenos Aires is a unique gambling destination located on two large ships anchored in Puerto Madero. The casino offers a variety of gaming options including slot machines, poker tables, craps, and roulette with fun themes and expert dealers. Visitors can also enjoy global cuisine at the on-site restaurant. While the layout may be confusing for some, the casino provides an exciting experience for both novice and experienced players.

Might be interesting if you like mazes. I didn't like the enclosed space too much, and the strong air conditioning even in cold winter. Didn't found much variety in the games too, and when it's full of people you feel like a sardine. And you can't take pictures inside or get to see the outside area of the boat (the casino is inside a boat). The good parts are outside the boat, there's a place to eat and watch some games on a big screen. Also you don't have to pay to enter, which is great.
Vitor S — Google review
Didnt ask for any ID. The cashier doesnt exchange USD. They have tables in both USD and peso and I wanted to play in Peso currency but they didnt have a facility or ATM to get Peso! Never seen a casino without exchange services. Left disappointed!
Ayesha B — Google review
A pretty shiny casino in the outside but it is actually two horribly old and dated ships that look like they could burst into flame or sink within minutes killing everyone on boat… use at your own risk ⚰️
Christophertravelz — Google review
Really nice place. Very lively with good vibes. Plenty of good food. Go there for fun not to win, then you will have an excellent time.
Mohammed M — Google review
Dropped a star from 5 because of the poor blackjack rules (no surrender, continously shuffled machines at all tables, max bets only 20x the minimum bet, no resplit aces, and European style 1 dealer card). Otherwise, this casino is nice and well kept, has good service, tons of slot machines and 4-5 rooms/areas with table games. The table games were blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette, and 3 card poker ("tripoker"). No other carnival Vegas style table games from what I saw. This casino is built on 2 boats and is a maze with 4 floors on each boat, well connected and with escalators. Bottom floors had lower stakes (about $3 USD min bets at BJ using the current tourist exchange rate, middle floors double that, and the top VIP floor was double the middle floors, so about $12 USD in pesos or $25-500 bets on USD tables). There are some restaurants and a Popular Pizza location just before you enter the casino floor.
Balooko31 — Google review
Tokyo pachinko parlors have nothing on this trippy / insane place. Do you like having bad dreams and wonder where that U$€¥¢£ went, this is the place. Although, the Pachinko parlor will probably make you more upset. Just do it!
Martin O — Google review
It was my first experience in a cassino and I got to say, this is a great cassino! It's really big, very pretty, with lots of parking spaces and it has three different restaurants inside. Just walking around is a lot of fun, there are a lot of machines and in the last floor there's blackjack and some other games. If you have some time to kill and doesn't mind gambling a bit of your money then this is a great place to go. If you have money problems then you'd be better off just staying far away from here.
