Established in 1917, this 95-acre city park features a pond with boating facilities, a zoo & trails.

Lovely park, an oasis of tranquility in the midst of a bustling city. We were surprised by how calm and large it is. Beautifully laid out, spotless and numerous activities. The park also contains a small zoo. The lake adds to the overall serenity. You can rent a pedalo, or a rowing boat, to admire the scenery from the water. The train station is very close to an entrance, and the park is free of charge. Afterwards cross the station to find yourself in covered shopping streets. Plenty of shops and restaurants around, including in the train station.
Such a beautiful, tranquil park with a lake in the middle. You can even hire out different boats for half an hour from a dock (row boats, Swan pedal boats) to take across the lake. I took a pedal boats with a friend. This was such a great and fun experience. There are also a few shrines around the park, and a few streets with eateries and shops to look around if you get bored. There's also a playground for little kids. The greenery is also spectacular, especially against the backdrop of the lake. I went during June but the park was still very lush. Highly recommend this spot as a nice break from the busy Tokyo city.
Around 1 hour by train from Ginza to Kichijoji, you can visit this beautiful vast park. There are a lot of things you can see and do here. They have a lot of different areas, from the lakes to the playground and baseball fields. Great for picnic! There is also the Ghibli Museum here. Make sure to book your ticket in advanced as they do not receive walk-in entry (April 2025 visit).
Wow, I was completely blown away how beautiful the park is. Clean, very well maintained, quiet and laid-back. And if you are familiar with Japanese animes and video games, you would have come across this park, and it looks exactly like how it was depicted. There are plenty of trails, and I think the park will look very different as seasons change. The park is open all year round, but I suggest avoiding visiting on a Tuesday, as most cafes are closed.
Absolutely beautiful in the 🍂autumn! I am it’s beautiful in all seasons. Easy walk with absolutely beautiful scenery. You may also choose to go on a small boat ride or visit their mini zoo!
a lake a bird park and a well preserved garden / park that has thick forest many resting and seating area and its near to train station within the park also has many cafe
With around 500 cherry blossom trees and a beautiful pond, Inokashira Park is a great cherry blossom viewing spot in Tokyo. The Ghibli Museum is located near the park.
Purposely visited this park because of Persona 5 Royal. It looks the same as the game! The park is also near Studio Ghibli museum. around 5-10 minutes by walking from the nearest station.

Great zoo with so much to see and do, would recommend at least 2-3 hours to fully experience and enjoy it. They also have a cafe and small shop, and the cherry trees were starting to bloom. You also get entry to the aquatic park with the one ticket which is nice.
This zoo is great! There is a lot to see and do with the sculpture garden and history museum areas as well as a number of areas with animals. What I like about this one is it was very open and animals weren't squished into tiny pens like we have seen before (at Ueno Zoo for example). There is also a second area across the bridge to see the water birds and to walk through more of the area. It's very beautiful and nice for a relaxing day wandering around.
Lovely local zoo with both land and aquatic sections. Squirrel habitat is adorable! We spent a couple of hours there enjoying both sides of the zoo, and it's an easy walk to the Ghibli Museum.
Beautiful little park and zoo. Like an oasis in the middle of the city. Not Tokyo. But Kichijoji. More like a town vibe. There are two parts to the zoo on either side of the road. They even have some larger mammals like an elephant. Although I haven’t seen the elephant. But most animals are badgers or squirrels. Very cute. You can enter the squirrel cage and absence them closely.
Nice place for kids. Convenient in terms of transportation and price. You can take bus from Kunitachi station, Chofu station or Mitaka station and get down right in front of the zoo. Perfect for a day out!
It’s a great place to take a walk and enjoy the quiet time in summer.
I can't stress enough how beautiful this park is during cherry blossoms season late March and early April, I came during early April 2022, and the flowers were beginning wilt and were falling off. I recommend in late March. The experience was once in a life time especially for those not coming back to Japan anytime soon. One of the most memorable experiences in Japan.
A nice small zoo, good for about an hour or so with the kids. Children up to 12 go I'm for free and adults are only 400 ¥ so it's inexpensive addition to a walk in the park. Don't miss the squirrel trail.

So beautifull to be there and to meet japanese couple with their baby - Yu has his 100days celebration.
Very cool Shinto Shrine near Kichijoji station. There are also some smaller shrines here too. This place is easy to find and on a busy city street. Not sure about parking. Check it out if you’re in the neighborhood.
Medium sized Shinto Shrine, supporting some of the local Kichioji matsuris, like the Kichijoji Aki Matsuri in September. It has its own medium sized mikoshi, and during the matsuris, a number of food yatais and children's game booths, but can become quite crowded as there is just the one walking path which goes to the shrine. Unfortunately, during the matsuris, it seems the office for goshuin stamps is closed.
Had fun experiencing the festival here. :)
Nice well kept shrine.
A lovely shrine hidden away right in the middle of Kichijoji.
very calm shrine, very often visiting people, a little far from main station
Nice and peaceful place near busy area! Bit renovating at the moment (may 2017)

Park with a kids' playground, an open field for various sports & basketball & tennis courts.
Slide 1 of 8
Went here for the first time and I think it was a great park! It has a huge open field with grass, which is suitable for toddler to run around, and for the rest of family members to have a relaxing walk. There is also a small playground area. Nearby the entrance there is a bus stop to Kichijoji and Mitaka station.
Fantastic local park, which has a more open aspect than most parks of a similar size. There is a good running route around the perimeter (mixed surface of tarmac and bark). Three public toilets and lots of good places for kids.
this park is very huge flat land, formerly was an airstrip used by US during occupation period. hardly to find a piece of flat surface carpeted by lushly green grass, at far end corner has 2 base ball grounds, kids and families cheerfully play there in every weekend. Also, groups of people like to fly kites and paper planes. an informal running trail surrounding the grass field, which mostly covered by tree shadow, it feels comfortable to run a few laps. surely this park is a sources offering healthy good life. please, fine to enjoy it.
This is a quite large park in northern Musashino City. On the edges of the park there are some trees and picnic tables which are great for taking a break sometime during the day. The center of the park is a large open field where people might play soccer or throw a frisbee or run around. Because there is so much open space without trees, this park is ideal in the spring and fall or on cool summer days. During the very hot summer months, you have to think carefully about getting enough sun protection if you're going to hang out here. There is no convenient nearby parking, so this park is ideal for people within walking or bicycle distance, and less desirable if you live farther away.
Very spacious, which is difficult to find, but the grass quality is quite low.
A beautiful and spacious park in Musashino City. There are also several convenience stores nearby. Families and friends gather on weekends and enjoy playing sports, having picnics and barbeques, and etc. Awesome place to go on sunny days.
A lovely, spacious and relaxing park. A good alternative to some of the busier parks in Musashino City.
Simple but great park bbq, tennis and sporting options. Also great for exercising, dogs and relaxing

Great place to visit
(Translated by Google) Available in September 2022. This is a shopping street on the north side of Kichijoji Station. The stores change quickly, so if you go back a month later, you'll see a new store open, so you won't get bored. On this day, we were having our first Autumn Festival in three years, and there was a mikoshi (portable shrine), and it was even more lively than usual. For Japanese people, festivals get them excited⤴︎⤴︎⤴︎ (Original)
If Inokashira Park is Kichijōji’s lungs, then Daiya Shopping Arcade is its beating heart. Just outside the station, this covered street pulls you straight into the neighborhood’s energy: crowds drifting between chain stores, independent shops, izakayas, & food stalls that seem to multiply the deeper you go. The vibe is distinctly Tokyo...organized chaos under a roof. You’ll find everything from discount liquor shops & vintage clothing racks to neatly arranged tea stores & gourmet snacks. Neon signage fights with hand-written boards & every few meters there’s another scent: fried skewers, fresh matcha, grilled yakitori. What makes this place work is the mix. You’ll pass people shopping for Louis Vuitton resale bags, kids tugging parents toward gachapon machines & couples debating which izakaya has the better drink deal. It’s both practical (daily essentials) & playful (late-night entertainment), & it doesn’t try to be polished - this is a working shopping street, not a curated tourist trap. The density of shops means you’ll always stumble across something unexpected, whether it’s a sake bargain bin or a boutique selling locally designed clothes. It’s the perfect entry point into Kichijōji’s nightlife...grab a drink here, then wander into the side alleys for yakitori or karaoke. Rain or shine, the covered arcade makes for a reliable stroll.

I lived in Mitaka during my four years of university, and Seikei Gakuin was within walking distance, but I never bothered to visit. Since I was able to stop by, I looked around the middle school, high school, and university campus. What a lovely museum nestled among the shopping and dining options in Kichijoji. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit-- it is not large, but the exhibitions blended modern and traditional arts and included fantastic artists. It is a lovely museum and well worth the visit.
it's a very small but interesting place. Admission fee was not expensive. the staff were very kind.
It was a nice place for me since I like unusual artworks and wanted to cover some free time in the district of Kichijoji. The entry fee is minimal and it won't take much time so it's worth visiting. The entrance is easy to miss because it's surrounded by so many different shops, so look attentively for the colourful signboard.
Probably worth checking out the exhibition schedule regularly. The one I visited by Chida Yasuhiro was mind blowing.
It's relatively snall but cozy.

This time, they were holding a special exhibition called "Little@Leaf Papercutting." I didn't know about it, but I had a blast. Great place to pick up some snacks or lunch to eat at the nearby Inokashira Park- a lovely walk to Ghibli Museum. Clean washrooms with multiple stalls
Walking through this mall feels like wandering into a temple of middle-class aspiration: sleek, curated & just the right mix of practical & indulgent. You’ve got your daily staples (groceries, clothing, accessories), but then boom...you stumble across a L’Occitane & suddenly you’re rationalizing why a $40 hand cream is “self-care” & not financial sabotage. The layout is classic Tokyo retail: compact but efficient, vertical rather than sprawling, with just enough polish to make you feel like you’re in on a secret that everyone already knows. It’s not the chaotic consumer assault of Shibuya or Shinjuku...No, this is Kichijoji, after all. The vibe is more relaxed, more local, more we live here, not just pass through. What I loved: the variety of shops keeps you engaged without being overwhelming. You can pick up a pastry, wander into a bookstore & grab a French luxury brand moisturizer within the same five-minute orbit. It’s the kind of place where “just browsing” somehow translates into walking out with a bag. atré Kichijoji isn’t going to blow your mind, but it nails something rarer...it makes shopping feel civilized. You leave lighter in the wallet but oddly happier, which is basically the definition of retail success.
Large and bright shopping mall/area with a wide variety of shops and restaurants/cafe within station. Great place to wander if you arrive early to meet someone and have spare time. Doesn't feel dark or crammed even though it is positioned within a long and narrow area of land along the JR station area.
Great selection of stores and restaurants. The only downside is that it it constantly crowded.
Fun shopping mall that has everything you need from clothes to food to souvenirs, they've got everything! The shops are well organized and it's bright and warm inside. You can also get presents or fashion items at Atre.
I particularly like this Atre. It's quite narrow, but some areas are surprisingly spacious. It has a couple sections (it's best to ask the conceriage and take a map!) and I think it's fun to look around especially on a rainy day. It has everything, a grocery store with a butcher and fish market, glasses/photo stores, lingerie stores, a pharmacy, cafes, restaurants, a bookstore, an imported foods store, an organic food shop, and (of course) Starbucks. Not wheelchair friendly! There is a ramp and an elevator somewhere, but for baby strollers and wheelchairs, people will give you dirty looks.
Very nice building and well organized
Absolutely loved this shopping centre in Kichijoji during an extended stay. It was my local for food shopping and especially the wonderful must visit sushi restaurant in the lower floor. Always oversubscribed but has a very efficient automatic booking system. Sushi prepared freshly in front of you by several sushi chefs. The complimentary egg appetiser was Oishi! A hot egg custard with a touch of mushroom, prawn, a tiny bit of edamame bean & sliver of chives served in a tiny cup. The Mango sorbet is the softest, most delicate and flavoursome sorbet I have tasted on earth. However, all food ordered have to be consumed in-house, no doggie bags allowed! No eyes bigger than your belly unless you are prepared to leave it. Atre is also close enough to the famed delicious Steak House Satou where the queues for the meatballs are long but worth it. A must to visit! This shopping centre holds the finest Kichijoji offers, in terms of souvenir food gifts, patisserie, boutiques, cafes, even a Gong Cha (a bubble tea outlet), a Cinnabon (an unforgettable aroma wafting through the air of some NY air terminal) and much, much more!

This is a relatively new department store in Kichijoji, but it already has a classic, established feel. Located in the heart of Sun Road, it offers great convenience and accessibility. The store seamlessly blends into the vibrant atmosphere of the area, providing a wide range of shopping options and amenities. Despite its recent establishment, it feels like a long-standing part of the community. If you're in Kichijoji, this department store is a must-visit for its variety of shops and the convenience of its central location.
Awesome shopping mall that has a free play area for all the little kids. My little one had a lovely time at the play area and the nursing room in the mall was extremely clean and pleasant. Would definetly visit Coppice again for my next trip to Kichijoji.
Wonderful selection of shops from high brands to specialised stuff. I like the bookshop and kaldi, but my daughter likes the floor dedicated to cute girly stuff. My wife like the terrace and clothes. Also has a new game centre
There are many shops in this multi story shopping building. Most of the are not notable, so browse them if you are in the area but don't bother a trip down if you aren't. The only exception is Kaldi Coffee, which is a chain import food shop, amd this branch is the biggest in Musashino. For local residents who want foreign groceries, this is the place to go.
Interesting mix of stores, catering to a wide variety of needs. The stores I shopped in were well organised and had what I was looking for.

This is a prominent temple located in Kichijoji, right in the heart of Sun Road, making it very easy to locate. The temple stands out due to its size and the distinctive architectural style, which blends traditional Japanese elements with the surrounding urban landscape. During festival days, the area around the temple becomes exceptionally lively, with a multitude of stalls, performances, and local activities that attract both locals and visitors. The vibrant atmosphere and the sheer number of people add to the excitement, making it a must-see experience if you happen to be in the area during these events. The temple itself is a peaceful retreat from the busy streets, offering a moment of tranquility amidst the urban hustle.
Nice temple but the main building is undergoing reconstruction unfortunately. You can get Goshuin from the white building next to it.
Nice temple with cemetery and parking lot. It provides a quiet retreat from the street, but there is only the main entrance from the south open (no exit through the North as those are through apartment complexes).
Here is the grave of my mother's parents.
Back in 1999-2000, I was living in Seki-machi Higashi. The temple used to have a monthly Zazen open to the public. I started with White Plum Asanga in 1995 and it was more difficult than expected to find a Soto.shu temple that held Zazen sessions open to the public. Centro Zen the Mexico was open everyday in those days, so it was strange for me that Gessoji was open to the public only once a month... Everybody was very nice and welcoming.

Easy place to go where there are many department stores, many shopping stores and sites that meet different needs. I personally recommend this place to visit.
Lots of things to find here. And there is a store for each one of them.
Nice shopping mall by the station over several floors, many nice shops inside
Things were available regarding kitchen and other
Elevator and wheel access consistently backed up. It's hard to enjoy a store when you cannot get into it. Even during quiet weekday hours customers ignore signs and ride elevators for wheelchairs, strollers and those with physical ailements. There needs to be staff, especially on weekends. Train access to the Inokashira line is very slow because of this too.
The kind of shopping building attached to many of the larger train stations in Tokyo, this one is typically not overly crowded on its upper floors. Has a big Yuzawaya.

Shopping district. About the size of 2 blocks. Gonna pay attention the the smaller lanes as there are lots of restaurants located inside.
We went into this while searching for baby room. I am so glad to see that almost every other floor in this building has baby room and most of them are spacious and well maintained. Also good shopping deals are available all the seasons.
So animate 8th floor is fun. Fifth floor is a musical instrument shop where I finally got my flute it’s okay service was good.
For men fashion, there are only few brands and small stores. 0101 is better than Parco.
Really boring to be honest. Not much for male fashion, it's more oriented for female customers. Saving grace is the Village Vanguard and AniMate.

(Translated by Google) This is a quiet and tranquil temple. The Nio statues at the entrance create a powerful atmosphere. The beautifully maintained grounds bring a sense of peace. Bishamonten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods of Musashino, is enshrined here, making it a recommended place to pray for blessings. (Translated by Google) Below the Heiwa Kannon statue (erected in 1977) in the shrine grounds, there are fragments of a 500-pound (approximately 227 kg) American bomb that fell near Musashino Women's Academy (currently Musashino University), located about 800 meters west-northwest of here. It is written. During the air raid on the adjacent Nakajima Aircraft Musashi Plant, bombs also fell on the temple grounds, causing many casualties in the surrounding area. Furthermore, at Genshoji Temple, which is adjacent to the east, the tombstone that was severely damaged during the air raid on the Musashi Factory still remains without being replaced at the wishes of the bereaved family. (Translated by Google) I visit the Seven Lucky Gods every year. It seems that the promotion of the power spot called Encounter Tathagata began a few years ago. For buses other than the Shichifukujin Meguri, I think the Inari Jinja-mae bus stop is the closest. During the Shichifukujin Meguri period, in addition to serving amazake (amazake) at the tent, pickles, sweets, and roasted sweet potatoes will also be sold. Also, depending on the day, you can enjoy demonstrations of picture-story shows and Nankin Tamasudare. For both transportation and enjoyment, we recommend visiting during the Shichifukujin Meguri period. However, please refrain from bringing free amazake onto the bus, as it is against bus etiquette. The cherry blossoms in autumn and winter were at their best. (Original) 駐車場完備でありがたい。 よくあるお賽銭箱はなく、コインを1枚ずつ入れるタイプのもの。 おみくじは100円。 秋冬と咲く桜が見頃だった。
