Oceanfront rock formation shaped like an elephant's trunk, popular with tourists & photographers.
Slide 1 of 8
This place is very beautiful and convenient, with plenty of parking. When you enter the first building, you can buy tickets, visit souvenir shops, and enjoy a variety of restaurants—perfect for relaxing before heading out to the cape. It can get quite hot, so bring sunscreen or an umbrella. The cape and beach are absolutely stunning—a must-visit when you’re in Okinawa!
Very nice view, blue sky and sea with greenery. The cape is so beautiful and the water is very clear. The restrooms are very clean. I love here. Only 100 Yen for ticket.
Visited Cape Manzamo with my family as part of a tour bus trip and spent about 30 minutes there. The view of the ocean and the famous cliff shaped like an elephant’s trunk was absolutely stunning. The walking path is well maintained and easy, making it suitable for families and kids. Even in a short visit, it was a beautiful stop to enjoy Okinawa’s coastline and take some great photos. Tip: 30 minutes is enough for a quick visit, but you could easily spend longer if you have more time.
Totally a tourist trap. No mention on Google or any other place to search that you had to go through a facility and pay money to see a cliff. Surprise fees are never fun. Can pay with card. ¥ 100 per person 🙄 There are money exchange machines within the facility and some real nice gift shops with cute souvenirs, teas, and alcohol.
Beautiful cliffside view overlooking the ocean. The entrance fee is only 100 yen, very reasonable. If you visit in September, the weather is extremely hot, so be mindful of heatstroke and bring water. It can get quite crowded with tourists. Inside, there are restaurants, souvenir shops with cute gifts, and a stamp station for collectors.
Beautiful location, cheap ticket price, great parking. Perfect for a quick pitstop and tasty local cafes at the entrance offering local snacks at reasonable prices. Would recommend to anyone passing by, the viewpoints are lovely but quite busy and the area is very easy walking, suitable for all ages.
worth paying 100 yen entrance fee per person. car park is free. The elephant rock is unique. The blue sea and waves splashing against the rock is mesmerising.
Nice park with viewing spots to see beautiful cliff formations on the coastal line! You have to pay to enter, which was not worth the money considering it takes around 15 minutes to view everything. Other than a few nice pictures with the cliffs there is not much more to explore.

Busy seaside destination best known for panoramic water views as well as scuba diving & snorkeling.
Slide 1 of 8
Cape Maeda is an absolute gem for snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts visiting Okinawa. The moment you step into the water, you're greeted by an astonishing variety of sea life. From colorful schools of fish to the occasional sea turtle, sea snake, or even a large octopus, the underwater world here is nothing short of spectacular. One of the highlights is swimming along the reef to reach the famed Blue Cave. The cave itself is a mesmerizing sight, with its deep blue hues creating an almost otherworldly ambiance. It’s an excellent spot for families, providing a safe yet thrilling adventure for kids and adults alike. The popularity of Cape Maeda means it can get quite busy, especially on weekends and holidays. To truly enjoy the experience, I recommend arriving early in the morning. This not only helps you beat the crowds but also offers a chance to see more active marine life. Facilities around Cape Maeda are well-maintained, with showers and rental shops available for convenience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with gear or provide tips on the best spots to explore. Overall, Cape Maeda delivers an unforgettable experience, blending natural beauty with an abundance of marine life. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or a first-time snorkeler, this destination is a must-visit on Okinawa.
This cape is gorgeous, it had a good summer breeze and not too windy. You could hire snorkel gear on site and swim to the blue cave yourself- there were many people doing this. You could people watch from the cliff and have a picnic.
Great snorkeling and diving spot. Clear water and a lot of fish. Plenty of parking and restrooms. Make sure you bring cash because they tell yiu the parking accepts cards but it doesn't.
It is a great place to experience snorkeling or diving. It has a big coral reef site where there are a lot to see. The Blue Cave is miracle. Provided the weather is fine, the waterfront is accessible via a staircase. A few diver shops offer services there. Pretty convenient if one wants to try. Very popular.
Gorgeous cliffs by the blue sea, not a very big area to wander about, one may finish a circle walk in 20 mins, but then again, it’s biggest draw is actually about scuba diving in the crystal clear waters or surfing the gentle white waves.
Great snorkeling and diving spot. Try to go during week versus a crowded weekend. A sea cave awaits if you go right and more colorful coral with blue starfish, puffers, and lion fish await to left (have to swim around lookout point.
We visited Cape Maeda right after Typhoon Trami and Kong-Rey and the views were spectacular. The sea was still very rough and the waves were crashing on the rocks, so there was no diving that day. But it was beautiful to sit there and enjoy the beautiful views and fresh air. Very peaceful and quiet since the divers were not there that day. Highly recommended to visit it, if not for the diving, at least for the views.
A great spot for beginner snorkelers! We enjoyed exploring this underwater oasis as we spotted out many different species of fish and Marine life. There was also a small trail surrounded by greenery that allowed us to see the area from many different view points. Take your time to really soak it all in. The parrot fish were my favorite part, by far!

Pretty nice public beach next to Ana Intercontinental Manza Beach Resort. Calm water with marked area for swimming. There is rental gear provided by the resort for guests. The activities included float, snorkel, etc. There is activity center for snorkel, sunset cruise.
Great beach with restaurants nearby. Good for sunset drink and pizza on the beach.
Beautiful beach with crystal clear water. I believe this is a public beach, but there was a guardhouse at the entrance which made me wonder… nevertheless, drove through and grabbed and a park and enjoyed the cool waters on a warm day.
It’s a resort beach so expect a lot of people. They’re famous for the ocean park which is a blast. I would be king of the playground if there wasn’t a stupid rule about not pushing kids off. How else am I supposed to assert my dominance
Beautiful, clean, ocean park with plenty to do! Plan for a day excursion. It can be a little pricier if you aren't a resort guest but well worth the experience. Parking costs 2500 yen. Umbrella and chairs for rent on the beach are yen only as well. There is a beach side pool and so many water activities. There were plenty of food options beach side as well. Worth a visit!
Beautiful beach! Right down below a gorgeous resort! You have to walk through the resort parking lot to get down there, but it’s free! Lovely place for swimming and snorkeling, though you’ll definitely want water shoes because it’s fairly shallow and lots of rocks and coral. There are some restaurants around too!
Best beach in Okinawa to my opinion. We stopped just between the hotel and the fenced water beach. There is a small rock in the ocean just across. Beautiful place, that has some palm trees to get under from the sun. Nice view of the hotel.
Comfortable, quiet, free beach with free parking. Small swimming area, but it has free beach seating with umbrellas. Was pretty empty when I went. Lots of paid activities at the resort such as jetski rental and snorkeling tours, but I didn't try any of them.

Scenic sandy beach with activities such as glass-bottom boat tours & scuba diving, plus restrooms.
Slide 1 of 8
Pretty good place if you want to enjoy pool, fun things with kids and also relax. Rooms are bit smaller so need to cram everything specially bathroom but, since there is whole beach to go out to considering that it is ok.
This beach was a part of our hotel (Kariyushi Beach Resort and Spa) the shuttle took us at the stop across the beach. The beach is right next to a Lawson which was great for snacks and water. Many options for things to do (glass bottom boat tour, jet ski, water land, and many more) we rented two chairs and a beach umbrella and enjoyed the warmth of the sand while my kids played in the sand and the water. The pool is also easily accessible and right by the beach.
We were staying at the ritz and wanted some beach time, however we were disappointed as this was not a very nice experience. Must pay to access the beach and pay more for chairs (that are not great), and there is a very confined area you can swim. The play park looked better online than it did in person, and you had to pay extra to go on it. If you're an adult looking for a nice place to relax, I wouldn't recommend this. Not worth your time at all
This is a well-maintained beach. There’s a hotel nearby, and it has changing rooms and toilets too. It seems like a place mainly for tourists. I didn’t see many local people around. There were plenty of lifeguards and staff, so even beginners can feel safe. There was a strange floating playground in the sea— It felt like playing on SASUKE! It’s a perfect location for sightseeing!
Nothing special just a regular beach don't get fooled by the pictures you see , beach area rather small , swimming only to the knee which makes it challenging when the bottom is rocky , we spend 1.5hours and left Wouldn't recommend- go to Mission beach or Manza Beach way better.
If you like rules, shallow rock-filled swimming areas and expensive beach equipment, this is your spot. Freedom not allowed
Great beach good facility’s and shade to sit under when not in water
We cannot reconmend this Beach. With low Tide there is almost no water, it is not worth the entrance. Sports activities are very expensive. Parking is far.

Good beach with kids - need water shoes as it is filled with seashells. Umbrella and chair rent in the tiger beach center . Beach cafe open currently on weekends and serves really good poke bowl among other things
Not a soft white sand beach, but the water turquoise. Visited in October, and there was literally noone on the beach. One local 10 year old boy told me that Fukachu beach is the best in Onna area, and if i had come during summer the beach would have been packed with tourists, and I made a smart decision to come in October.
Beautiful long sand beach. Umbrellas and seats are on charge, Toilets and shower are for free available at Monterey Hotel. Snorkeling is not very interesting over here.
very nice lunch at their beach club restaurant, The BBQ was delicious and cooking facilities very good, service also was fine, nice place to dine and have lunch with a view. only suggestion is for the service team to monitor the gas/heat as it became very hot and I had to turn it off myself
👌best place okinawa❇️🌴🌺☀️🦀
(Translated by Google) There is a lot of coral, so if you go in barefoot you will get into trouble, so I recommend wearing marine shoes. You have to go through the hotel, which feels like you are doing something wrong, but when I asked how to get to the beach the hotel staff kindly showed me, so I felt relieved that it was okay. There were not many people around, so I was able to swim freely and splash around. The coral is cute, but be careful not to bring it back to the mainland⚠️ (Original)
(Translated by Google) This beach is directly connected to Hotel Monterey Okinawa Spa & Resort. Depending on the season, you can enjoy banana boating and other marine activities. We visited in January, so not only were marine activities prohibited, but even swimming was prohibited. It's probably best to check the beach opening dates. Although we couldn't go in the sea in January, just walking along the shore was refreshing. The sea was exceptionally beautiful, and the beautiful sound of stepping on coral fragments was very soothing. I highly recommend this beach for anyone staying at Hotel Monterey Okinawa in Onna Village!

It is a beautiful beach. Even you're not guest of the hotel you can experience various marine activities they offer. Due to weather condition I was not able to try the zip line. But I did the snorkeling. It was my first time and the staffs were all so friendly and helpful. The snorkeling experience was amazing.
Beautiful beach right with clear water right off of the Sheraton hotel.
Its nice to not have to wear shoes in on the beach or the water! Beautiful place to swim and enjoy the sun! We stayed at the hotel but the beach is free, you pay for parking for a day pass.
So beautiful here I luv it
I loved the zipline
This beach is manage by Sheraton. there is paid parking and paid services if ypu want to go into beach or rent chair table . Visiter resort pass is 6600 per adult and 3300 yen for children below 6 years . Nothing is free for public .
(Translated by Google) It's really good, so please go! It's a bit of a walk, but the pier is near the end of the zipline! I want to relax here next time🙌 (Original)

Nabee Beach 🚙 put “ナビービーチ駐車場” in Google maps and park there, free parking lot 🚶 walk 1-2 min from the parking lot, past some buildings and shops to the beach 🛟 lifeguard on duty 🧺 covered picnic tables 🤿 must wear a life jacket for snorkeling ⛱️ rental place for all kinds of equipment rentals close by
You can walk at this beach free and no need to pay . Just that it is hidden at a corner and you need to walk 150 m from the car park to Nabee Beach😍
There’s a lot parking. There’s a netted swimming area. The shower room was good 2 mins for ¥100 wasn’t bad. It’s my second favorite beach. There’s a life guard on duty and an air machine for your floaty.
Such a fun beach! Bathrooms, covered patio with picnic tables, ocean activities and plenty of parking available. During swim season, you’re able to swim in a netted area. It doesn’t keep everything out (saw a few fish swim in and out along the perimeter of the net) but we had no issues. Our kids found a small clownfish family swimming in an anemone! A lifeguard is on duty during this time. We’ve gone a few times during the off season and have still had fun. No lifeguards on duty during the winter. There’s a small jetty to the left of the beach that has a spot for a photo op, and there’s a large swing for photos too (unable to swing, it’s secured to the ground). Further down the beach are some rocky areas, great for exploring. I’d definitely recommend some water shoes/felt bottoms to help protect your feet if you’ll be in that area. We did one of their ocean activities (raft towed by jet ski) and our son had a lot of fun. Staff was kind and made sure he was comfortable. There is a small playground nearby. Definitely better for younger kids (my 4 year olds had fun). Definitely a fun beach to visit if you get a chance. Easy to find too!
Nice beach to hang out and relax, clear sea. Kids can play on the sand. We have been there in February and the weather was nice
This is our family's favorite beach. The parking lot is big and free, you're allowed to set up a tent or you can rent one there. There are showers ¥100 for 3 minutes with good water pressure but out of the 3 (I think) there are, 1 or 2 often don't work. Same with toilets. I think because it is a free beach, it is not maintained enough, so there is often trash there and there are a bunch of sharp rocks underwater. Also my advice is to watch the tidal waves, because during low tide it gets very shallow and painful to walk over the rocky bottom.
Small free public beach. However, the sand and water are both quite rocky. The sectioned off region is also really small and hard to swim since it's so shallow. Recommend wearing sandals/water shoes while here. There is a cool little island a bit into the water you can basically walk to.
Cute community beach and free to enter/park. The beach is beautiful and clean. Have clean shower room and toilet. There are tables to sit and relax. I think it's a good option if you want to go to a beautiful beach in Onna and don't want to pay entry fee or parking fee to hotel beaches. There are also buses and limousines from Naha to this beach.

*Free* town museum. All signs in Japanese. We were able to use Google translate. The history of the area was cool to learn about. Plenty of parking next to museum.
Not a large museum but with free entrance, displaying several informative and professionally displayed exhibits and artifacts of local culture. Definitely worth the time for a short visit.
It's a small regional museum. Unfortunately the second part of the exhibition is closed currently. Still, if you drive bye the area I would recommend to visit. Entrance is free. Parking situation is sometimes challenging.
Nice but tiny museum. Which the description of the artifacts were translated in english
A great place to relax, browse and, get an appreciation for the culture and lifestyles of Okinawan people, in the past. Though, little English is spoken, the staff can assist those, who speak some basic Japanese. Here, I have found the personnel, working there, exceptionally helpful and, willing to travel outdoors, assisting me, in uncovering, new historical finds.
The Onna Village Museum and the Onna Cultural Information Center are located next to the Onna Leisure Market and can be admitted free of charge. The 1st floor is a tourist information center with many sightseeing information about Onna Village. 2nd and 3rd floor, a library and a display hall. From the rest area, you can see the magnificent coast of Onna Village. It is a well-known deep spot with very few tourists.

A beautiful beach with crystal clear water. This beach is located behind Okashigoten Onna Branch, and you can reach it by going down the stairs next to the store. I visited in September, and although it rained occasionally in the afternoon, luckily the weather was very hot when we went to this beach. We traveled by bus, but buses in Okinawa are often not on time, which forced us to cut many plans from our itinerary. I recommend renting a car for a more efficient trip and to save time.
Nice quiet beach and easy access from the road. Great place for the collection of the shells. Water was rough today so limited swimming but without a storm the water would be calm for easy swimming
Good beach to snorkel. Be careful in the evening. The tides rise almost all the way to the seawall. You can easily lose your belongings.
Great beach for snorkeling and SUP! Even on cloudy days the water was clear enough! Please respect the coral and don't break it!!!
If you want to get close when snorkeling this is the place for you. At most 3 feet deep. Fish are everywhere if you swim little more to the right it’s deeper with so pretty big fish! Have fun and be safe!
This beach is absolutely amazing at high tide! In lightly cloudy days evening tide can be combined with observing one of the best sunset colors! Also nice for snorkeling, thought there are quite many nests around the shore, so meeting a male fish protecting its area is likely o happen.
Nice small beach. Walk to the right side of the restaurant/shop building and take few stairs down towards cafe shop.
Great little beach! Super fun for kids with rocks to climb and plenty of soft sand to play in. The water was stunningly beautiful, and the snorkeling was nice! (Not the best, but lovely) Easy parking, access to food and treats and a nice foot-washing station. Loved this beach!

Nice spot to stop with children who are into space exploration. The museum is not multi-lingual, but there is some information in English. Google translate is a great app to use because it now has the camera feature that allows you to take pictures of the exhibits and translate to the language you are most comfortable with. There are a lot of models that are very interesting to see.
Nice museum with a lot of activities for kids
If you enjoy space exploration, this is a great museum for you! Unfortunately there is very little English translation. The security guard was very nice and showed us the couple English videos available.
The exhibition is kind of small, but has some interesting legacy hardware. Taking a good shot of the main comms array requires a 60+mm lens, so pack appropriately!
(Translated by Google) It was really interesting! If you love or are interested in space, I recommend you go. Both adults and children can enjoy it. For children, I think they'll enjoy it more if they're old enough to read and understand explanations to a certain extent. I think we spent about an hour and a half looking at and interacting with the exhibits. You can experience the mission of setting off into space through a computer game. It was quite difficult, and even adults found it challenging. Given the free exhibits and free parking, I was very satisfied with the quality. I was able to get a sense of how the things around us are made possible thanks to space and the people involved in it. And it was inspiring to see that the people who become astronauts are making their dreams come true. I'm glad I went to see it! Admission is free, and visitors must register at the entrance. Inside the facility, visitors can see exhibits on JAXA's activities, including rockets, the Japanese version of GPS (Michibiki), and artificial satellites. Since the various operations have been transferred to Mitsubishi and the Cabinet Office, there are many things you may not know, but the content is informative. With satellite operation games and commemorative cards distributed upon entry, the facility is designed to appeal to both adults and children. A large antenna can be seen from a distance outside the facility. This is a recommended facility for those who have already visited the regular tourist spots, as well as locals. At first I was worried if it would even be open, but someone came out of the management office and gave me a commemorative card. (+) Beautiful stretch of beach / coastline. (+) Easy access from sidewalk. (+) Unattended in winter (off season), so perfect place for swimming or sunbathing if you're staying at a nearby resort that has the No Swimming winter rule. (+) Free of charge. (+) Seems to be part of Okinawa Coast Quasi-National Park (-) NO signs indicating that it's Tiger Beach. (-) Unclear how much of it is public and what "belongs" to Hotel Monterey (-) No bathrooms or any facilities (showers, changing rooms, etc.)
Of course I prefer the tiger Beach of old. My family and I spent many years on this beach over the last thirty something years. We use to have a week-long party every fourth of July for many years before they tore down the original Resort. This was the last local Resort on Okinawa. Now there are no more local resorts, they're all for the tourist with no local rates!
Mainly targetted at tourists, with activities and facilities that you need to pay for. Has life guard at designated swimming areas. Has basic shower facilties though.
Beautiful place to merge in mother nature. Forget all the worries of this world and enjoy the sound of water waves with beautiful sunsets..
One of the best beach near Onna-son on fuchaku. The moonbeach hotel provide free of cost swimming space secured by net to avoid any kind of complexity due to Jelly Fish.
It would have been a lot more enjoyable if there was some shade and a nice recliner. However, it's a FREE beach so beggars can't be choosers.
Good town beach with free of charge entrance. It's better to swim after 5 pm though, the water stinks in the first part of a day.
beautiful beach. Not many people I saw somehow.

Beautifully ocean & fabulous rocks. Good weather.
Stopped by this park after visiting Cape Manzamo since it was literally two minutes drive. My little one had a blast there and burned most of his energy here before heading for dinner.
Theres a basketball court with one basket and has a small kids park with swingsets and a slide.

Public library
Libraries

I grew up going to a library regularly, so having one 10 minutes away from me with this quality is really comforting. Although the library is only one floor, it is managed very well and very nice to just read accompanied by a beautiful view or reading with your child. There is a "ohanashi room" that seems to be dedicated for this. There is also a terrace (one table in 2nd floor) and observatory room in 3rd floor if you are hungry and want to eat your bento. Will definitely regularly go here several times a month!
My absolute favorite place to read or get some work done. What a community gem! As many have written, there is a sitting area / desk on 2F that directly looks out into the beautiful blue ocean and highway. You can watch cars and motorcycles pass by. There is free wifi as well (look around the library posters for the password). Only downside is that there are basically no outlets (and the few ones that exist can't fit a standard macbook charger, in case you were wondering...). I can't believe this is a public free space!
Little to no English books. Most were about Okinawa’s history.
(Translated by Google) Onna Village Cultural Information Center is located near Onna no Michi-no-Eki. I visited there because I heard that the view from the library inside was spectacular. There is a library on the second floor of the information center, and the interior is beautiful, making me want to read books slowly. The view from the window is amazing, and I think it's even more spectacular on a sunny day in summer. When you go to the 3rd floor, there is an observation room with chairs, so you can see an even more beautiful view. I have been to Onna Michi no Eki many times, but I had never heard of this place. The roadside station was full of tourists, but I think most of the people there were locals, probably because they didn't know this place. Also, the building itself was clean and the restrooms were clean and very easy to use. A beautiful place to take a stroll and take in the gorgeous landscape. These castle ruins have nice paved roads through woods and views of the water and nearby city. I love being surrounded by nature and walking here allows you to recharge.
Fantastic part of history to visit. Very glad I was able to walk the grounds and take in the views. Definitely go visit if you have the chance.
The grass was so green and maintained everywhere. It was absolutely beautiful. The tall walls are impressive. There's so much space so you can explore without running into too many people. It was hotttt in the sun but the wind tunnels through the arch ways and feels so good.
An ideal location for a leisurely walk and photography, boasting a wonderful vista that can be enjoyed by climbing the ramparts to gaze at the horizon, along with its historical importance.
It's kind of crazy how many of these sites exist where they do. Unless you're looking for it, you probably wouldn't even know it was there. The trees lining the walkway up to the castle really set the tone for the incredible structure that's still standing after so many years. Once inside there's a large item space with another set of stairs that will take you to the upper level which is a bit smaller. The last set of stairs allows you to walk along the top of the walls giving you a view of the ocean, city, and mountains. I went close to sunset which is a great time to take some nice photos. It's quiet up there aside from the birds, it's quite peaceful if you are at all interested in history and great views away from all the traffic and so many people. I've seen a few of these sites and the view at this one is my favorite one so far, I recommend taking some time out to see it if you're visiting Okinawa.
Beautiful hiking trails and cultural discovery. Very recommended to visit this place.
Amazing to think of what this place used to be and how it was built. There's not much to the place anymore, but you will find nice views and great photo opportunities.
We were going from Cape Zanpa to American Village and decided to stop along the way. Sure glad we did. The ruins are well maintained. I believe you call that an oxymoron, but the entire area / park is so clean and organized. Looks like Pine trees surround the castle which doesn’t make you feel like you’re in a tropical region. The view from the top of the castle ruins is nice too. A great way to leisurely pass 30-45 min.
