Cape Manzamo is a popular oceanfront rock formation that resembles an elephant's trunk, attracting many tourists and photographers. While some visitors find it touristy due to the commercialization at the entrance, others appreciate the stunning views and affordable admission. Despite occasional closures during stormy weather, the cape offers a breathtaking outlook of waves crashing against the cliffs.
This place is very beautiful and convenient, with plenty of parking. When you enter the first building, you can buy tickets, visit souvenir shops, and enjoy a variety of restaurants—perfect for relaxing before heading out to the cape. It can get quite hot, so bring sunscreen or an umbrella. The cape and beach are absolutely stunning—a must-visit when you’re in Okinawa!

This is more of a big gift shop rather than a scenery attraction. The entrance is 100 yen, it’s nothing but you don’t get too much for that money anyway. When I approached the ticket machine, the staff nearby instantly started pressing buttons for me, immediately switching menu to English presuming I couldn’t speak Japanese, it was quite annoying because I haven’t asked for help.
DK W — Google review
Very nice view, blue sky and sea with greenery. The cape is so beautiful and the water is very clear. The restrooms are very clean. I love here. Only 100 Yen for ticket.
Chutamaneerat S — Google review
Visited Cape Manzamo with my family as part of a tour bus trip and spent about 30 minutes there. The view of the ocean and the famous cliff shaped like an elephant’s trunk was absolutely stunning. The walking path is well maintained and easy, making it suitable for families and kids. Even in a short visit, it was a beautiful stop to enjoy Okinawa’s coastline and take some great photos. Tip: 30 minutes is enough for a quick visit, but you could easily spend longer if you have more time.
Ayush S — Google review
Beautiful cliffside view overlooking the ocean. The entrance fee is only 100 yen, very reasonable. If you visit in September, the weather is extremely hot, so be mindful of heatstroke and bring water. It can get quite crowded with tourists. Inside, there are restaurants, souvenir shops with cute gifts, and a stamp station for collectors.
M ( — Google review
Beautiful location, cheap ticket price, great parking. Perfect for a quick pitstop and tasty local cafes at the entrance offering local snacks at reasonable prices. Would recommend to anyone passing by, the viewpoints are lovely but quite busy and the area is very easy walking, suitable for all ages.

worth paying 100 yen entrance fee per person. car park is free. The elephant rock is unique. The blue sea and waves splashing against the rock is mesmerising.

Went in November and the weather is good to view the cape. The cape was breathtaking but sadly that is the only highlight. Admission fee is 100yen.

Seafood restaurant
Ganso Sea Grapes, a type of green seaweed found in the sea of Onna Village, is known for its small grape-like fruits. When eaten, it releases a beachy aroma and offers a satisfyingly crisp texture. While enjoyable on its own, it can also be savored with ponzu or vinegar miso. Additionally, this delicacy is featured in various dishes and even as an ingredient in unique treats like sea grapes ice cream.
Had this at its original store location back in 2012, came back here to try. They have moved to a new location but still same great taste. Sea grapes with yam and sea urchin are a must try. Seems the opening hours are not very accurate, it only opened at 12:40pm on the day we went.
Bella C — Google review
The cucumber art is very nice. Worth to try sea grapes.
Kwan H — Google review
New place but same taste as the old store! The pork knuckle is so well cooked, very soft and juicy, full of collagen! The stir fried bitter melon with egg and spam also balances the flavor really well And of course the sea grape rice bowl is just incredible. I’ve been to Okinawa 4 times and every time I came for a bowl, must have in Okinawa!!!
Hannah M — Google review
A restaurant with long history offering cuisines with sea grapes, though not very special I personally think it's ok. Staff are friendly.
Benny C — Google review
Not quite impressed with salmon sashimi dish set (We were given 5 pieces for 700 yen) The taste is nothing special... Other dishes' prices are reasonable with an ordinary taste so quite not worth it. The fried oyster and the seagrape are okay. The price is a bit on the high side with ordinary fish quality. If you pass this restaurant give it a try, but you don't need to come here just to try this. It is better to go to the fish market like Nakayukui Market for a better quality and more affordable price. If you visit this restaurant, just order the seagrape and the fried oyster to not be disappointed.
Aj S — Google review
Decent noodles, not too into the ocean grape and sea urchin rice bowl. The bitter melon eggs were not well done. Pork knucklea were underwhelming too
L Y — Google review
Beside the dishes including sea grapes, the sea grapes ice cream is also a must try. The popping sensation of the grapes in your mouth is just so satisfying, no wonder it's deemed the best of seaweeds

Japanese restaurant
Soba noodle shop
Nakamura Soba is a no-frills restaurant located along Onna Sunset Coast road in Okinawa, offering a panoramic sea view and outdoor seating. They serve traditional Okinawan soba, which features thick wheat noodles in a light broth with options like pork slices or seaweed. The noodles are distinct from those found in mainland Japan, resembling thick ramen or udon. Visitors often experience queues but find the wait worthwhile for flavorful soup and chewy noodles.
Our lunch spot after our dive and it was just perfect. Maybe a bit biased as we were straying after the dive. You order through a ticket machine but its cash only so dont think your cards will work here. They will provide change for larger bill denominations to use in the machine. Noodles was bouncy, springy and perfectly cooked and the pork was just juicy delicious. Slurping the amazing local Okinawa food seated outdoors. Without a car or guided trip, wouldn’t even think so visiting or known about this place and we were glad we visited.

Hidden along the highway and serves local soba with pork ribs or pork Belly. Broth is nice and meat tender. Small seating. Suitable for family and tourists driving through.

Had to run to the Lawson’s nearby to get some cash. But 5/5 the best Soba we’ve tried in Okinawa. The view of Manza beach just added to the whole experience!
Restin T — Google review
This restaurant is truly a hidden gem that will leave you wondering why its ratings aren't higher. The quality of the view alone sets the scene for a memorable dining experience, but the flavors are what truly surprise and delight. Upon arrival, you're treated to a stunning ambiance that harmonizes perfectly with the surroundings. One of the standout features here is the choice in broth, which allows diners to tailor the taste to their preference. You can go for a pork-based broth if you're after something rich and savory, or opt for a seafood base for a lighter, more refreshing flavor. Each broth is expertly crafted, with deep, nuanced flavors that taste like they've been simmering for hours. In addition to the broth, the ingredients are of the highest quality, with fresh, flavorful vegetables and meats that enhance each bite. The texture and aroma combine to deliver a full sensory experience. It’s evident that the chefs put thought and care into every detail, making this place a must-visit for anyone looking to explore unique tastes. Despite the relatively average ratings, this place shines with authenticity and quality. The experience is elevated by the view and the meticulous preparation, making it a destination well worth the visit for those seeking a true culinary escape.

- food: we order no.3 which is more porky and flavorful and the special one with more pork. We love it broth was so yummy and noodle as well. But we found it a bit too sweet for us. So, we order the no.1 which is seaweed-based noodle and broth and we think this was perfect! the right amount of flavorfulness for us - service: staff was nice and friendly though it was super packed when we visited - atmosphere: slurping broth with the ocean view was amazing!

Finally after three days we have managed to try the okinawa soba !! After 20mins of queue its our turn and it was great!! The soup was flavourful and the noodles were chewy as well. Two of us ordered the one with seagrapes while i ordered the one with spareribs and pork belly. I preferred mine more as the flavour was stronger. We were also provided with a chilli infused alcohol as a condiment with the soba. I ordered the set with the steamed flavored soya rice as well called jushi if im not wrong. All in all, everyone finished their meal till the last drop and you know what it means!! GO TRY IT!! You need to have it if you are in Okinawa :)
Louis ( — Google review
The soup and noodles are absolutely amazing! Noodles are firm with great bite and texture. But the seaweed (#1) and pork based (#3) soup are the best we have so far and the pork itself is very well balanced between lean and fatty bits to give it both flavor and texture. Update: returned for Soba #2 and whilst the soup is richer than #1 the rib pork is a bit leaner (but no less tastier) than both #1 and #3. Parking aplenty and if you get a seat by the window to slurp down the hot noodles it’ll be one amazing experience.

Okinawan “soba” is distinct from the soba consumed in mainland Japan. It is made from wheat flour rather than buckwheat flour, the most familiar Okinawa soba has a topping of sliced pork (stewed pork belly with sweet and spicy flavor) on the noodles.Amazing 😋

There’s a lot parking. There’s a netted swimming area. The shower room was good 2 mins for ¥100 wasn’t bad. It’s my second favorite beach. There’s a life guard on duty and an air machine for your floaty.
Geranie G — Google review
Such a fun beach! Bathrooms, covered patio with picnic tables, ocean activities and plenty of parking available. During swim season, you’re able to swim in a netted area. It doesn’t keep everything out (saw a few fish swim in and out along the perimeter of the net) but we had no issues. Our kids found a small clownfish family swimming in an anemone! A lifeguard is on duty during this time. We’ve gone a few times during the off season and have still had fun. No lifeguards on duty during the winter. There’s a small jetty to the left of the beach that has a spot for a photo op, and there’s a large swing for photos too (unable to swing, it’s secured to the ground). Further down the beach are some rocky areas, great for exploring. I’d definitely recommend some water shoes/felt bottoms to help protect your feet if you’ll be in that area. We did one of their ocean activities (raft towed by jet ski) and our son had a lot of fun. Staff was kind and made sure he was comfortable. There is a small playground nearby. Definitely better for younger kids (my 4 year olds had fun). Definitely a fun beach to visit if you get a chance. Easy to find too!

Nice beach to hang out and relax, clear sea. Kids can play on the sand. We have been there in February and the weather was nice
Guzide D — Google review
This is our family's favorite beach. The parking lot is big and free, you're allowed to set up a tent or you can rent one there. There are showers ¥100 for 3 minutes with good water pressure but out of the 3 (I think) there are, 1 or 2 often don't work. Same with toilets. I think because it is a free beach, it is not maintained enough, so there is often trash there and there are a bunch of sharp rocks underwater. Also my advice is to watch the tidal waves, because during low tide it gets very shallow and painful to walk over the rocky bottom.
Mariya A — Google review
Small free public beach. However, the sand and water are both quite rocky. The sectioned off region is also really small and hard to swim since it's so shallow. Recommend wearing sandals/water shoes while here. There is a cool little island a bit into the water you can basically walk to.
Bryan C — Google review
Cute community beach and free to enter/park. The beach is beautiful and clean. Have clean shower room and toilet. There are tables to sit and relax. I think it's a good option if you want to go to a beautiful beach in Onna and don't want to pay entry fee or parking fee to hotel beaches. There are also buses and limousines from Naha to this beach.

Cape Maeda is a stunning coastal gem that attracts visitors with its breathtaking panoramic views and vibrant underwater life, making it a hotspot for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts. Beyond the bustling beach scene, adventurers can explore hidden beaches nestled among lush sugar cane fields. As you make your way through dense vegetation, you'll encounter ancient Okinawan tombs that add an air of mystique to the landscape.
Cape Maeda is an absolute gem for snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts visiting Okinawa. The moment you step into the water, you're greeted by an astonishing variety of sea life. From colorful schools of fish to the occasional sea turtle, sea snake, or even a large octopus, the underwater world here is nothing short of spectacular. One of the highlights is swimming along the reef to reach the famed Blue Cave. The cave itself is a mesmerizing sight, with its deep blue hues creating an almost otherworldly ambiance. It’s an excellent spot for families, providing a safe yet thrilling adventure for kids and adults alike. The popularity of Cape Maeda means it can get quite busy, especially on weekends and holidays. To truly enjoy the experience, I recommend arriving early in the morning. This not only helps you beat the crowds but also offers a chance to see more active marine life. Facilities around Cape Maeda are well-maintained, with showers and rental shops available for convenience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to assist with gear or provide tips on the best spots to explore. Overall, Cape Maeda delivers an unforgettable experience, blending natural beauty with an abundance of marine life. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or a first-time snorkeler, this destination is a must-visit on Okinawa.

Amazing, must visit !! I’ve been twice so far once at midday, it was very crowded but it makes you feel safer if you are solo lol. I also went at 6pm and it was very quiet only a few people in the water and I got to see an octopus! So many different kinds of fish to see as well and the water is so clear and blue! I could snorkel here everyday 😍😍
Jessie H — Google review
This cape is gorgeous, it had a good summer breeze and not too windy. You could hire snorkel gear on site and swim to the blue cave yourself- there were many people doing this. You could people watch from the cliff and have a picnic.

Great snorkeling and diving spot. Clear water and a lot of fish. Plenty of parking and restrooms. Make sure you bring cash because they tell yiu the parking accepts cards but it doesn't.
Brandon D — Google review
It is a great place to experience snorkeling or diving. It has a big coral reef site where there are a lot to see. The Blue Cave is miracle. Provided the weather is fine, the waterfront is accessible via a staircase. A few diver shops offer services there. Pretty convenient if one wants to try. Very popular.
Patrick L — Google review
Gorgeous cliffs by the blue sea, not a very big area to wander about, one may finish a circle walk in 20 mins, but then again, it’s biggest draw is actually about scuba diving in the crystal clear waters or surfing the gentle white waves.
覃羿彬 — Google review
Great snorkeling and diving spot. Try to go during week versus a crowded weekend. A sea cave awaits if you go right and more colorful coral with blue starfish, puffers, and lion fish await to left (have to swim around lookout point.

Heads up! The portions are huge — the rice comes in a massive bowl! Take your time with the menu, especially the photos on the wall. The two on the left are set meals, not single dishes. If you don’t pay attention, you might end up with a surprise… like getting hit in the face by three giant bowls of rice!

A very local experience. No frills, you have to order from a machine, the seafood was fresh and good! A bit of a hidden location. Very affordable compared to other places. I really enjoyed the lobster.

George R — Google review
Very local place. We beat the lunch crowd and was able to sit inside. It can be difficult to find and "scary" looking from the outside. Owners were very friendly and attentive. Cook to order lobster so there is a wait but many restaurants are on "island time." I love to try local foods and spirits and drank mine straight, to their surprise. LOL. Most came for the lobster and steak combo, which didn't disappoint. Scallops were good. Prices were very good. It's not Michelin or Zagat but I would definitely return.
David N — Google review
- Food quality ok - Located on the beach, which is convenient - Free parking - Cash only (only ¥1,000 bills) - No service - Old facility This restaurant relies solely on one vending machine for orders, which only accepts ¥1,000 bills. Cost performance is somewhat below average. Very puzzled why the rating is so high here. Would not recommend unless you are very hungry after marine activities or if the restaurant is not busy (then you have more time to order).

Don't miss this gem if you are around. Perfect seefood and other alternatives. You order the food via a machine and it's a bit challenging. Bring cash, better several 1000 yens, and not 5k or 10k, as the machine doesn't accept those.

The izakaya restaurant ル・ソレイユ offers delicious and tasty dishes such as fish, chick, and beef that are both excellent and flavorful. The cuisine from Okinawa is particularly nice, with a stunning butter-source clam and fish dish being a standout. The customer service at the restaurant is kind and quick, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. It's worth noting that only cash payments are accepted at this establishment.
After all the nearby restaurants turned us away, we stopped here to try our luck one last time. We planned to go Lawson for instant noodles if this also says No to us. Surprisingly, they allowed us in although we don't have a reservation. They even brought us an English menu with pictures. Ordered a few dishes. Garlic fried rice is flavourful with garlic and sesame oil. Omelette is soft and buttery, stuffed with seaweed and finally topped with a generous bunch of sea grapes. Stir fried bittergourd with spam and what tasted like char grill toufu. The most interesting dish is the braised pork knuckles. From my cooking experience, I guessed that these pork knuckles are deep fried, deep fried, and then oven grilled with glazing. As a result, all the fats simply turned to jelly and melts in your mouth! Service is good and the chef and server are both polite and pleasant people. Will come again if I visit Okinawa again.

Came here since restaurant next door was closed and we were pleasantly surprised! The garlic rice was delicious, avocado salad was refreshing(hard to find fresh veggies in Japan in my experience) but most importantly THE CHICKEN WAS FANTASTIC! Italian restaurant
Salvatore Cuomo & Bar is a cosmopolitan dining spot that specializes in wood-fired pizza and other Italian cuisine. Their menu features a range of authentic dishes crafted using traditional recipes and the freshest ingredients. The skilled chef employs the Neapolitan cooking method to prepare mouthwatering antipasti, pasta, pizza, and dolce. Customers can also enjoy their meals in the restaurant's bar or garden seating area.
Foods served by restaurants near the beach are often mediocre. But this restaurant serves surprisingly good Italian food. Their margherita pizza, carbonara, and Italian fried chicken were my favorite. The pizza was freshly baked from the oven. The carbonara was creamy and cheesy. The fried chicken’s batter was so light, yet so crispy. It was definitely worth the trip.

Food was amazing. We had the pizza and the pasta. Great taste. We also had the coffee which was strong and bold. We sat outside and the setup was refreshing. Lastly, the staff was exceptional! Friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Alonso E — Google review
Overpriced mediocre Italian food. Portion size is small. Appetizer plate seemed like leftovers from the hotel’s breakfast - smoked salmon, chicken pesto, ham, etc. Their “signature” cocktails were all ready made cocktails poured out of cartons and tasted like juice.
Paul M — Google review
We know the Salvatore in Tokyo, so this is a bit letdown, but still the food is decent and ambience is great. The caprese wasn’t great, tomatoes were already bit off, pasta was ok, pizza was good. We would not come back though unless we really want pizza, the rest of the food wasn’t worth another visit. But their pizza is delicious.
Blanka K — Google review
I have no idea why this place is rated so high. The pasta was sub par. All of the toppings (including cheese) literally slid off the pizza the moment I picked a slice up because it was so watery and under cooked. Had an undertone of rancid taste to it. The chocolate cake tastes like it was made in a microwave and the “gelato” honestly was more like cheap ice cream. So overpriced for such low quality. The only redeeming qualities are the kind/courteous wait staff and the atmosphere

Staff was amazing, food was fantastic. Kid friendly. Would go back.

We (2 adults and 2 kids) came for a late lunch as we craved for some italian food. Service was fine but the experience was not so good because the food (pizza) was quite disapointing and when done the staff would not allow us to bring the remaining pizza that was leftover from the kids with us. On top of that the final bill was about 1700 JPY higher than expected because of service charge and tax that we do not think was clearly imformed as NOT included when we ordered. The place is ok for a quick lunch, but value/quality for money is below expectations.

A cool spot for a date night... or in our case, afternoon. Its semi-fancy dining and you'll pay resort prices. English menus are available and cards are excepted. The margarita pizza is really good and the pork is some of the best.

Creative cuisine restaurant
A pleasant establishment to unwind, offering a diverse range of local Awamori and delectable cuisine. However, the service staff would benefit from additional training as some seem inexperienced in restaurant operations. Despite being situated away from downtown, the restaurant provides complimentary car parking. The food is satisfactory but slightly pricey, and it is peculiar that only one salad dressing option is available. Nonetheless, patrons can enjoy a splendid view while indulging in their meals.
We had an excellent Okinawa dinner set menu. Staff was the best.

Very bad experience, very expensive but very crap food.Purchase is cash only, no credit card or any other payment method. A set meal must start with 2 people.A set meal includes two pieces of braised pork, a fried chicken wing, a grilled pork skewer, and two slices of sashimi, which costs 4,500 yen and tastes too salty to even swallow. We were 5 adults and 2 kids and ate 24,000 yen.The point is that it was very, very hard to eat! This was the worst experience in Okinawa on this trip!Everyone be careful and don't fall for it again!

delicious food and nice people. we ordered way to much. just get the smaller set meal options u less you’re really starving. most set meals you have to order for at least 2 people i wish i could just order one and split it. we should have ordered a la carte 😂. so good

This place is away from downtown, so hard to find. They own car parking for free. Their food is OK. You can drink, soft drink for free for two hours, but their waiter is easy to forget service your drink order.

nice place to relax, good selection of local awomori and also the food is tasty, service staff need some training, I think some of them have never worked in a restaurant before. if in the area worth a visit. try the pig ears, yummy

The food was disappointing and the service was horrible. The waiters were repeatedly prompting us to order excessive food. They served food which were burned and when asked about it, they said that it was how it was meant to be made, which was totally not acceptable. They also charged service fees which were not mentioned in the first place. You should never go to this restaurant unless you want your trip ruined

Food is good but slightly over priced. Only one choice of salad dressing is odd. Great view.

Nice atmosphere. They have 禁煙 non smoking room option. The food was great. Surprisingly a spacious parking for a small tucked away road. A bit pricier than a normal izakaya but was worth it in my opinion. They offer courses too. Price average is around ¥700 per dish.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the west side side of town. Start the day off with Zakimi Castle Ruins, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to San Marina Beach. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Historic Walking Areas
Zakimi Castle Ruins are an ancient structure that was constructed in the years 1416-1422. The partially restored walls and ruins provide visitors with a center to explore while enjoying beautiful views. While there aren't many explanatory signs, the architecture is stunning, and the view from the wall is breathtaking. The immense castle grounds offer picturesque hikes for visitors to enjoy, surrounded by beautifully arranged rocks and arches that add to its peaceful atmosphere.
A beautiful place to take a stroll and take in the gorgeous landscape. These castle ruins have nice paved roads through woods and views of the water and nearby city. I love being surrounded by nature and walking here allows you to recharge.
Desiree M — Google review
Fantastic part of history to visit. Very glad I was able to walk the grounds and take in the views. Definitely go visit if you have the chance.
Edward L — Google review
The grass was so green and maintained everywhere. It was absolutely beautiful. The tall walls are impressive. There's so much space so you can explore without running into too many people. It was hotttt in the sun but the wind tunnels through the arch ways and feels so good.
Amber G — Google review
We were going from Cape Zanpa to American Village and decided to stop along the way. Sure glad we did. The ruins are well maintained. I believe you call that an oxymoron, but the entire area / park is so clean and organized. Looks like Pine trees surround the castle which doesn’t make you feel like you’re in a tropical region. The view from the top of the castle ruins is nice too. A great way to leisurely pass 30-45 min.
Nick T — Google review
An ideal location for a leisurely walk and photography, boasting a wonderful vista that can be enjoyed by climbing the ramparts to gaze at the horizon, along with its historical importance.
KE-HAO C — Google review
It's kind of crazy how many of these sites exist where they do. Unless you're looking for it, you probably wouldn't even know it was there. The trees lining the walkway up to the castle really set the tone for the incredible structure that's still standing after so many years. Once inside there's a large item space with another set of stairs that will take you to the upper level which is a bit smaller. The last set of stairs allows you to walk along the top of the walls giving you a view of the ocean, city, and mountains. I went close to sunset which is a great time to take some nice photos. It's quiet up there aside from the birds, it's quite peaceful if you are at all interested in history and great views away from all the traffic and so many people. I've seen a few of these sites and the view at this one is my favorite one so far, I recommend taking some time out to see it if you're visiting Okinawa.

The Onna Village Museum is a small but pleasant local history museum that showcases the cultural and fishing heritage of the village. It features dioramas, tool exhibits, and books on display across two floors. The first floor serves as a tourist information center for visitors to learn more about Onna Village's attractions. The artifacts are described in English for non-Japanese speakers to comprehend.
You are able to come here, enjoy the view of the ocean while reading a good book of your choice. There is a public library upstairs from the museum.

A great place to relax, browse and, get an appreciation for the culture and lifestyles of Okinawan people, in the past. Though, little English is spoken, the staff can assist those, who speak some basic Japanese. Here, I have found the personnel, working there, exceptionally helpful and, willing to travel outdoors, assisting me, in uncovering, new historical finds.

Moon Beach is a private sandy beach located at the namesake hotel, offering various water sports activities such as kayaking, sailing, and snorkeling. The admission fee to the beach is 1000 yen and additional charges apply for amenities like private pools, activities, and bath accessories. Visitors can also rent towels for 440 yen or use coin lockers available on-site.
Moon Beach Hotel is a beautiful beachfront resort in Okinawa that offers a perfect blend of relaxation and tropical charm. The location is stunning—right on a private beach with soft sand, clear blue waters, and breathtaking sunsets. It’s ideal for couples, families, or anyone looking to unwind in a peaceful setting. The hotel itself is clean, well-kept, and surrounded by lush greenery, giving it a true resort feel. Rooms are spacious, many with sea views, and come with all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. There are also great facilities like a pool, spa, and various marine activities. The breakfast buffet offers a nice mix of Japanese and Western options, and there are restaurants nearby if you want to explore local cuisine. Thank you

PRIVATE BEACH: There is an admission fee of 2000Y per person and 1000Y for parking. The beach itself is beautifully tucked away in a little cove, with nets and a lifesaver. The price also includes the use of showers, lockers, and changerooms. There are a couple of restraunts on the premises. There are also extra things to do such a banana boat / jetski activities. Hire of a beach chair and umbrella will set you back 3300Y which is not cheap.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Very nicely renovated big rooms with beautiful view. Excellent breakfast buffet. Clean sandy beach. Convenient coin laundry facilities. We enjoyed the use of the public bath as well. Loved all the bougainvillia flowers everywhere.
Jessica R — Google review
You can't do this, you can't go here, you can't do that. Never paid so much money to be told what I can't do so often. You can't sit here because we want you to rent these empty chairs But you can't rent THESE empty chairs because you're not booked into the more expensive hotel we share the grounds with. You can't bring your own sun shade so you have to rent ours. Yes we know there is no other shade. You can't bring your own snorkel gear, you have to rent ours. It just goes on and on. You can't even choose where you sit in your morning breakfast you over pay for. The place is nice and the beach is nice, but nothing amazing or feeling particularly Japanese. And unfortunately a lot of children and families stay here, if that's important to you... The location around is decent with some amazing places to eat, but make sure you stock up on water because the only water fountain we saw was a small one on the table in the check in office. In short, we paid way less for way more (and were never told no) with better beaches, nature and diving in Krabi, Thailand. I recommend going there instead.
Ajgp3ps — Google review
Would not recommend unless you are staying at the hotel. It costs 30000 yen for an adult admission, plus 10000 yen for parking and another 33000 yen for a chair on the beach. It’s nice sand but we were just up the coast at Fuchaka beach where it is open to the public and had a lovely time on a white sand beach. But of you need a pool and lifeguards, Moon Beach does have these. There are also other beaches you pay for that are less expensive.
LH Y — Google review
Can’t tell why this beach has such a good review. When you’re not staying at the hotel the price is not worth it! You’ve nowhere any shadow as long as you’re not paying for an umbrella, again. I think this is normal here that you always need to pay for nearly everything! Not nice! The sea is okay, but without any place to stay for free not worth it.
Lila B — Google review
The entrance fee was ¥3,000 per person (just for entry – sunbeds and umbrellas were not included), and parking was another ¥1,000. We decided not to stay and went to Tiger Beach instead. It’s such a pity that in Okinawa everything seems to come with an extra charge. Honestly, it was very disappointing – I cannot recommend Okinawa. It’s the only place I’ve been truly relieved to leave. The nature is beautiful, but beyond that, there isn’t much to enjoy.
Sanela H — Google review

The Tiger Beach Resort Club offers a beachside spa hotel experience with a family pool and various water activities such as SUP yoga, sea kayaking, jet skiing, and diving. Although the beach does not have soft white sand, the turquoise water provides a serene atmosphere for visitors. October is an ideal time to visit as it is less crowded compared to summer when it attracts many tourists. The beach club restaurant serves delicious BBQ with good cooking facilities and fine service.
Good beach with kids - need water shoes as it is filled with seashells. Umbrella and chair rent in the tiger beach center . Beach cafe open currently on weekends and serves really good poke bowl among other things

Not a soft white sand beach, but the water turquoise. Visited in October, and there was literally noone on the beach. One local 10 year old boy told me that Fukachu beach is the best in Onna area, and if i had come during summer the beach would have been packed with tourists, and I made a smart decision to come in October.

(Translated by Google) There is a lot of coral, so if you go in barefoot you will get into trouble, so I recommend wearing marine shoes. You have to go through the hotel, which feels like you are doing something wrong, but when I asked how to get to the beach the hotel staff kindly showed me, so I felt relieved that it was okay. There were not many people around, so I was able to swim freely and splash around. The coral is cute, but be careful not to bring it back to the mainland⚠️ (Original)

Fuchaku Beach is a beautiful and easily accessible stretch of coastline, part of the Okinawa Coast Quasi-National Park. During the off-season, it's unattended, making it a perfect spot for swimming or sunbathing if you're staying at a nearby resort that has a 'No Swimming' rule in winter. It's free to visit but lacks facilities like bathrooms and changing rooms. While there are no signs indicating it as Tiger Beach, some parts may belong to Hotel Monterey.
(+) Beautiful stretch of beach / coastline. (+) Easy access from sidewalk. (+) Unattended in winter (off season), so perfect place for swimming or sunbathing if you're staying at a nearby resort that has the No Swimming winter rule. (+) Free of charge. Of course I prefer the tiger Beach of old. My family and I spent many years on this beach over the last thirty something years. Now there are no more local resorts, they're all for the tourist with no local rates!

Tonkatsu restaurant
Shimabutaya Maeganeku is a popular tonkatsu restaurant that offers a vegetarian option and is highly recommended for its delicious Okinawa Pork tonkatsu. The restaurant provides a vegetarian option with side dishes for an additional charge, which left the vegetarian friend very satisfied. The interior of the restaurant is pleasant and welcoming, with helpful waitstaff who assist in ordering through an iPad.
Food is amazing and service is top notch!! They even have a little note welcoming you. Need to make reservation online. If you are driving, ask ahead of time where to park because they don't have parking. There are two locations, one paid and one free, 1 to 2 mins walk.

Fresh Agu pork with perfectly crispy fried skin makes an exceptional tonkatsu! The desserts are flavorful, with just the right balance of sweetness and texture, making them worth trying. The service is friendly and welcoming too! Definitely recommend 💛 Plus, they offer unlimited side dishes, and the tofu soup is exceptionally delicious and silky smooth.

Great place, very local, very delicious traditional shabu shabu and donkatsu 💯 💯 we had a happy dinner here. Around 3000 yen per person

Came for lunch and happy hour. Got the premium ribeye cut and also a cheaper cut and both were delicious. It was quiet for a late lunch which we did not mind. The pork was fatty and delicious, plenty of food. Also got a beer. Would come back again.

Excellent Tonkatsu and great service. The meat was awesome and the staff volunteered to take photo of my family. This is the best Tonkatsu we've had in Japan. I ordered the agu-pork special A loin cutlet, Agu extra premium rib loin cutlet and the assorted deep fried set meals.

Dining here was nothing short of a magical experience. From the very first bite to the last sip, everything felt thoughtfully curated and beautifully executed. The flavors were exquisite, each dish a masterpiece that perfectly balanced creativity and tradition. The ambiance was warm and elegant, creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable evening. Service was seamless — attentive, gracious, and genuinely caring, elevating the entire experience to a level of true refinement. This isn’t just a meal, it’s a culinary journey that delights the senses and leaves you with memories to savor. Without a doubt, a five-star gem I cannot wait to return to.

Yakiniku restaurant

Ryukyu No Ushi is a contemporary restaurant that specializes in traditional grilled meat and local wagyu beef. The high-end ingredients and independent private space make for an exclusive dining experience. In addition to the delicious and tender beef, there are options for chicken and pork dishes. Freshness is a priority here, with carefully processed squid being a standout item on the menu. Due to limited seating, it's advisable to make reservations in advance.
Great service with friendly staff along with great food that will highlight your trip and day. The private booths mean you can enjoy your dinner with ample privacy although you should remember to observe usual Japanese etiquette not to talk too loud as the partitions between booths are rather slim. Staff are friendly and will advise and guide you every time a dish was served and how to cook them, very welcoming and approachable. Food quality was great, as you will be treated with high quality beef/pork/chicken Okinawa has to offer, whilst you get to cook it with a high quality personal stove, not one that you will typically find in ur daily yakiniku adventures. The milk pudding at the end presented a refreshing conclusion to an otherwise memorable 2 hrs of mouth water high quality meat. I'll recommend and look forward to come again.

Manza Beach is a resort-area beach nestled in a cove with tranquil waters, offering amenities like umbrella and chair rentals as well as inflatable water play spots. It's known for being the filming location of the movie "Battle of Okinawa," making it a popular spot for Chinese tourists to capture photos. While there is an admission fee for access to part of the beach, visitors can enjoy a beautiful and clean ocean park with various activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and water sports.
Pretty nice public beach next to Ana Intercontinental Manza Beach Resort. Calm water with marked area for swimming. There is rental gear provided by the resort for guests. The activities included float, snorkel, etc. There is activity center for snorkel, sunset cruise.

Beautiful beach with crystal clear water. I believe this is a public beach, but there was a guardhouse at the entrance which made me wonder… nevertheless, drove through and grabbed and a park and enjoyed the cool waters on a warm day.

Beautiful, clean, ocean park with plenty to do! Plan for a day excursion. It can be a little pricier if you aren't a resort guest but well worth the experience. Parking costs 2500 yen. Umbrella and chairs for rent on the beach are yen only as well. There is a beach side pool and so many water activities. There were plenty of food options beach side as well. Worth a visit!

Beautiful beach! Right down below a gorgeous resort! You have to walk through the resort parking lot to get down there, but it’s free! Lovely place for swimming and snorkeling, though you’ll definitely want water shoes because it’s fairly shallow and lots of rocks and coral. There are some restaurants around too!

Best beach in Okinawa to my opinion. We stopped just between the hotel and the fenced water beach. There is a small rock in the ocean just across. Beautiful place, that has some palm trees to get under from the sun. Nice view of the hotel.

Aqua Belle offers a wide variety of international gourmet buffet and a la carte menu items with beautiful views of the garden pool and Manza Bay. The servers are amazing, providing great service all day long.
This breakfast place is lovely. They have a lot of options to pick from which is why I think it’s quite popular. The place also has a holiday vibe and is quite noisy (in a buzzing/fun way). They have an omelet station which is amazing (the eggs are so fluffy)! They also have a waffle or pancake station (depending on the day) where they make fresh hotcakes in front of you. They also have an Okinawan section with taco rice and Okinawan soba. There is also a danish pastry section. They also have western food and Asian food. Overall a great variety of food!

We had many delicious buffet meals here. Dinners were especially my favourite. We thoroughly enjoyed dining here with stunning views — the team always made us feel well looked after and made the kids feel very welcome. The kids also loved playing in the play corner.

Dined in for breakfast, it is buffet-style mixed Okinawan-Japanese-Western traditions. This place is the most popular for breakfast. The place gets very busy during peak time, suggest to come early. Served by two dedicated staffs Kana Hokama, and Nagisa Saito. We would liken to give a shout out to both of them. We are very happy with the hotel services, food qualities, atmosphere. The foods, especially vegetable, fruits are so fresh. Other items also tastily cooked well.

The food is really bad. Having been to a couple Okinawa restaurants in the area; I had some truly amazing experiences both in terms of the culinary flavors and friendliness of the locale people. Orchid may offer a one stop location for Okinawa cuisine and culture but throughly fails in both. Food is bland, dry and tasteless. Unfortunately, it is paired by an unhappy and tired appearing wait staff. There is a soulless feeling of an artificially manufactured experience. It would be sad for someone to visit Okinawa and for them to think that is this what Okinawa represents. Hopefully, the hotel will be able to make changes for the better.

Great show. Terrible food. This all you can eat buffet but the selections are very limited and some items never get restock. If you the popular items likes pork legs or beef, you better come early before the Chinese tourists fill up a whole plate each person. I will not spend 4200yen for something like this. The hot food are cold and the cold food are warm. I have never given one star for any Japanese restaurant but this place happened to be the first to let me down. This is also the first time I have mandatory 13% service charge added to my bill for a table of 2 buffet.

(Translated by Google) I stayed for 2 nights in December 2024 on a personal tour from a travel agency from Osaka. We had dinner here on the second day while watching a dance show. The food was delicious and the dancing was very powerful. Everyone is very good at it. Eisa is brave and one of my favorite Okinawan dances. It's amazing how it flies to a high place and spins around while beating the drum. There was a lion dance in the middle of the performance, but the lion dance performed by two people was very advanced and I'm glad it was done. My husband said that this lion dance was one of the best lion dances he had ever seen. The food was an Okinawan buffet, but there was a menu with many options including shabu-shabu. The dessert was also delicious. Are your seats right in front of the stage? I was so happy. Thanks to you, I was able to take a lot of good pictures. smile (Original)

Omakase dinner was really disappointing, I can say it’s the worst in the last 10 years we have been to Japan. We come to Japan at least once a year and last year alone, 3 times. We have been to many omakase restaurants (from reasonably price to expensive Michelin in Japan) and I really felt scammed here. Paid ¥18,000 per person x 4 pax, food served is worst than a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. And it was our wedding anniversary dinner, what a bad experience!
Wei L — Google review
We tried the a la carte. Sadly, we weren't impressed. I would even go so far as to say that this is the most boring food we've had in Japan the last three weeks. We ordered the sushi, grilled pork, and grilled fish. It cost us next to ¥10k. That's half the price of what I paid for an 11 course set menu in Tokyo at a high-class yakiniku restaurant with a personal waiter who grilled the meat for us. Sure, this is a restaurant at a fancy hotel, so it can charge a premium, but there has to be a limit. The good: - Attentive staff, good service - Decent sushi, I liked that the soy sauce had already been mixed with wasabi. The bad: - Small portions - Overpriced - There was next to no seasoning on anything, not even the pork. So it was virtually tasteless. I've had more well seasoned meals from a konbini to be honest. - The grilled food we ordered could hardly be called grilled (the fish we ordered seemed steamed and seered in a pan at the end for a bit of colouring) - The grilled fish was overcooked and dry. - Sides around the main dishes were dry and had no dressings - it seemed purely for show ...even simple izakayas spice up the cabbage they give you with a bit of ponzu or similar. - The lighting in the restaurant gives it an office canteen-like feel. Instead of going here, try the pizza place down the beach. That's genuinely a very good restaurant.

Should be romantic to see this heart-shaped rock from the view at Manzamo. a walk on the beach while viewing the sight would be nice also... (however i had no partner while visiting.... #cries#)
Andrew W — Google review
Tobera Rock may not be as famous as some other Okinawa attractions, but that’s what makes it so special. Tucked away near Cape Manzamo, this natural formation is a peaceful and lesser-known spot that offers a much more personal encounter with nature. We arrived after visiting Cape Manzamo, and it was like stepping into a quieter world. A short walk brought us to the coastline where Tobera Rock stood—rugged, moss-covered, and beautifully weathered by time and tide. The rock formation itself isn’t towering or massive, but it holds a quiet, spiritual presence against the crashing waves. The sea breeze here was refreshing, and we could just sit and watch the waves roll in, with barely anyone else around. It’s the kind of place you go to reflect, breathe, and take a pause from the busier tourist stops. If you enjoy nature, quiet moments, and off-the-beaten-path spots, Tobera Rock is worth adding to your Okinawa itinerary. Sometimes, it’s these unexpected discoveries that become the most memorable.

The problem is that you are not allowed to swim here - we were stopped by security. They told us that swimming outside of the nets is forbidden because of jellyfish... however it's clearly because the boat companies want to maintain their exclusive access to this site.

We went as a family of 4 and found the atmosphere very relaxing and enjoyable. The staff were very kind and even though we are not very knowledgeable about food, they gave us detailed recommendations on what to eat. It was my first time eating shabu-shabu, and the whole family was amazed at how delicious it was. It was a really good memory to have dinner at this restaurant.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with my visit. The food was mostly tasteless, and the steak in particular was not very tender. On top of that, two different servers accidentally spilled food on us while serving, which really affected the experience. Considering the above-average prices for the area, I expected far better quality and service. I won’t be coming back.

Really nice place. Calm atmosphere Food is very good. We’ve tried marinated onions, amazing salad with tofu, wagyu steak and shabu shabu of course. They also have nice selection of awamori. Good food but a bit pricey. What disapointed me a bit was that the shabu-shabu menu was for 2 people and more something that is sad for solo traveling like I did. Fantastic Shabu Shabu Experience – A Must-Visit in Okinawa! We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to walk in—luckily, they were able to seat us without a reservation. As visitors from Hawaii and California, we’re familiar with Shabu Shabu, but this experience truly stood out. The restaurant has an intimate, cozy atmosphere with a modern Asian aesthetic and warm, moody lighting. We were impressed not only by the quality of the food but also by the value. For three people, we spent about ¥19,000 (roughly $133 USD), which included the Shabu Shabu base fee, two rounds of drinks, and an absolute feast. We had three meat dishes: two premium pork belly and one Wagyu. While we would’ve preferred the Wagyu a bit more rare, it was still tender and flavorful. We also ordered two vegetable platters (standard Shabu Shabu veggies and leeks), seaweed tempura, sea grapes, soba, and the best somen noodles we’ve ever had. The broth and dipping sauce were light and delicate, building in flavor as the meal progressed—nothing overpowering, just perfectly balanced. Service was excellent. Our waitress was kind and patient as we figured out how to order, and the iPad system made it simple. Food came out quickly and everything was fresh and well-timed. One of the best meals we’ve had in Okinawa—delicious food, fair prices, and great service. We’d absolutely come back!
