An ancient place of worship in the heritage fortress, considered to be from the 11th century, this temple complex dedicated to Lord Ram is one of the oldest in Maharashtra. According to legends, God Ram during his Van Vas,(exile to the forest) visited this place and met Sage Agastya and on the advice of Sage took an oath to destroy the evil kingdom of Ravana. There are many temples within the premises including dedicated to Lord Ram, Laxmana, Kausalya Devi, Ekadashi Mata, Varaha, Agastya Ashram and many more. There is also a memorial to Maha Kavi Kalidas. The path to the complex is dotted with shops and eateries. The view from the top is scintillating. Lots of monkeys around so one should be careful in protecting any fruit bag or eatables. As this is a sacred place, one should maintain decorum and dress code. A must visit to understand the culture and heritage of Bharat. The view from the top is just mesmerizing. The fort has an old-world charm, and the local guides shared many interesting stories. A peaceful and enlightening experience overall. By road, it takes around 90 mins to reach from Nagpur. After reaching, you may park at the base of the mountain and take the hundreds of steps to the temple, or you may drive to the top and then you would just need to climb around 25 to 30 steps that come after intervals. The temple compound is clean, The temple area is supposed to be full of monkeys, but fortunately we didnt see more than one troupe of 5-6 monkeys. These monkeys are know to snatch things from your hand, hoping to find food. It is advised that you do not carry any purse or mobile phone or any bag while visiting the temple.

Nice temple and view.Agastya ashram is at the entrance.direct buses from nagpur available.you can either choose to walk the steps or auto can directly drop you at stop.it is crowded on weekends.Beware of monkeys as they are really aggressive.You can food at the local shops near temple. There's varahaswamy avtar nearby.You can get auto to karpur baoli directly from temple.Overall must visit if you are in nagpur.

one of the okdest rama tempels …. during the times of gupta empire… the temple can be reached by private vehicle or through local autos… there is ample of parking area…. there are many steps to reach the top which is beautiful… there are 3 temples on top… beware of monekys as they will grab anything you have… no entrance ticket… in the evening the tempels is lit with different colors
