This is quite a nice place, with a really nice board walk that will look fantastic in autumn 🍁 as the surrounding trees are maple trees. There's two paths leading to the hole in the rock, one is a light forest trail and the other is a wooden board walk. I think the hole itself is famed for when the time and sunshine is right, it will create a heart shape. Otherwise, to take a better picture of the turtle rock, you need may need to step onto some areas with water.
Definitely not worth it the bus trip was 2300 each way and the nearest stop is 1.6km by foot way even though the bus continues right past front gates.. pictures of bus stop inc so you can find you way back from the wilderness.
A beautiful park with a rest stop and clean toilets. The highlight is the turtle cave waterfall. The trail is easy and short, best during spring or fall. Worth a stop if you are nearby.
Nice little walk, really pretty and I would imagine more so during Autumn when the leaves are in full colour. Only about 15 minutes walk round trip.
The best views are very early in the morning (6am-7am) that too on sunny days, so don’t expect to see sights like in the photos. Apart from that, it’s a nice and peaceful place. Has free parking and a few restaurants nearby.
The heart shape can only be seen in March and September for 1 hour early morning 6:30-7:30 and the Fireflies can only be seen in May-June so except for these periods it is just a simple forest walk. It has toilets and food stalls (in early August when we went there) not worth it traveling all the way to here just for this but in the area there the Kamogawa beaches so you can just visit it on the way to other local attractions.
A rare cave where a creek comes thru it. Magnificent view when the sunlight shines in at a specific time of the day at a right angle. The place is not big but with parking lots and shops on both ends. It is beginning a popular sightseeing spot in Chiba now and can get pretty crowded especially when tour buses arrive.
If you pass by it, no harm to stop by for a few shots. However, it’s really not worth driving all the way here just to see the cave as it’s nothing special to see.
Kameyama Lake

Dam reservoir with cycle paths & pleasure boats, known for carp fishing & vibrant fall foliage.

Lake Kameyama is the largest and the only dam lake in Chiba Prefecture. It’s a complex outlined body of water, that expands like mazes. Lake Kameyama locates in the central region of Boso Peninsula, Chiba Prefecture. Besides its famous oceanic scapes, the Boso Peninsula has pretty unique mixture of inland geographical features; wide open paddy fields, deep forests, series of low mountains with gorges, and rivers and lakes between them. Interestingly, this semi-wilderness region is only one hour away from urban city area of Central Chiba by car. And not only Chiba actually, thanks to Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line, a bridge-tunnel hybrid toll across the Tokyo Bay, connecting Yokohama, Kanagawa and Kisarazu, Chiba, the driving times to Boso are similar from Tokyo and Yokohama. At Lake Kameyama, the launching point for the paddlers is located by the west bound parking lot called Sasa, and it is free. Once you take off from there, you will be welcomed by spacious body of water accompanied with narrower creeks that you can venture into. At several points, you can see the walls of rock surface, which add wilder taste in background. Some of them even have small water falls. It's like exploring through a jungle. If you're lucky, you may spot a sight of Japanese macaques! Although you will see a lot of anglers on the rental boats, fishing from paddlers' own boats such as kayaks, canoes or SUPs is not allowed; you need to rent a boat to fish on the water. These rental boat places are the members of local fisheries cooperatives, and they manage the lake's environment and the facilities. So, paying for the rental boat means you're supporting the people who maintain this unique location. Lake Kameyama is famous for bass fishing and even hosts fishing tournaments.
Good place with amazing scenery. Autumn colors were not visible much during the last week of October. Better to visit second or third week of November.
Small lake, famous for bass fishing in the Kanto region.
Great place to go see leaves changing colors. It happens from end of November to mid December or end of December

(Translated by Google) Sunday, July 2023 I came here for the first time to try SUP. On this day, the strong winds sometimes blew and it was difficult to get carried away, but the lake itself was wide and long, and there were various courses, so I enjoyed it a lot. There were many bridges and the small tributaries were like a little jungle, which was exciting. There were also waterfalls, which I thought were interesting. There were fewer people doing SUP or canoeing than I expected (maybe because the weather was not so good and there was a strong wind), and most of the people were fishing from boats. The lake was a dark green color and I felt a little hesitant to swim in it, but it wasn't dirty and it was a pleasant coolness when I put my feet in. There are lots on both sides of the road, with a store on one side and a restaurant on the other, so it's a bit inconvenient to use. The food and beverage side specializes in wild game, and is also interesting in that it also offers unique products such as horns, bones, and fur, but restaurants and rest rooms seem to close much earlier. There may be various circumstances surrounding product sales, but I felt that there was little desire to purchase as the stock seemed to be low. Small waterfall, but interesting place anyways from geological perspective. The place seems to be taken from a fairly tale, and it’s quite photogenic. Go early in a sunny morning to enjoy the magic of the sunlight passing through the cave.

Gorgeous view from the observation deck. I had a packed lunch here. Very refreshing to eat next to the beautiful scenery.
This summer is super hot,I drove around chiba seeking for a cooler place and tried here, it’s about 400m height, expected cool wind from the woods but actually no cool wind. It was still so hot & muggy. Better go Tochigi area if you look for cooler place near Kanto region. This kujukutani look down park is ok if the season is comfortable.not a place for middle of summer. Restroom and a vending machine are here. I could not find the peak of Mt.KANO, it should be around here but not this park is. I’ll try here again in autumn or winter.
At time of my visit (5.24) the parking spots were still closed. But parking on the street was possible. It has nice view over some smaller mountains. There are benches to sit and a toilet which is in good shape. It's wheelchair accessible.
I stayed there overnight in my camping van. free parking available. in clear days you can see sunrise.

Cool place to pay a visit with family! Cool playground for kids. However, the facilities are little bit old, and the toilets are totally nightmare, poor and dirty. I recommend the owners should update the toilet first. The people and staff over there are pretty kind, we love the staff there! They find we didn’t have tissues for my kid, and they proactively pass the tissues to us. We pretty appreciate them! Personal recommend: ★ ★ ★ Family-friendly: ★ ★ ★ ★ Date for couples: ★ ★ ★ Parking lot: ◯ Services/meals/products/design: ★ ★ Period for stay: 2-3 hours Charge: one day pass adults 2,000 yen, kids, free Baby room/accessible toilet: ◯ Cleanness: ★
We stayed here in the first week of October, but the autumn leaves hadn’t turned orange yet. If you’re planning a trip, keep in mind that the bus only comes every three hours, so plan accordingly. Getting to the cottages involves a bit of uphill walking, and before you can enter, you need to stop by the office, submit your IDs, and fill out some forms. None of the staff spoke fluent English, so we relied on Google Translate. They were really amazed when I used Google Image Translate to read their rules—maybe it was the first time they’d hosted foreign visitors! Even though we couldn't communicate perfectly, the staff were incredibly kind. There’s a vending machine and toilets near the office, and they even sell fireworks! Now, about the cottage—it was 9100 yen per person and super clean with a great mix of Japanese and Western styles. There was a bathtub, a free 1L bottle of mineral water, and a hotpot dinner included (delivered straight to our cottage!). The hotpot came with miso soup, mushrooms, thin slices of meat, and udon. Breakfast was also free, but we had to walk to the hotel to get it. The cottage also came with yukatas for the onsen, which was a nice touch. Even though my husband and I were the only guests, the hotpot was portioned for six, there were beddings for six, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. Since we were surrounded by forest, the insect sounds at night were loud, and there were some big spider webs. There’s also a rule against killing insects, so just be mindful of that! There were plenty of activities available, but we focused on fishing, which was the main reason we came. The fishing area was beautiful, and we had it all to ourselves. However, we could only catch tiny fish that swam alongside koi (which we weren’t allowed to catch). Just a heads-up: the cancellation fees are strict, so make sure to read the policies when booking.
(Translated by Google) We took a day trip there over the Obon holidays, bringing our two children, two in elementary school and one in elementary school. The staff seemed to be juggling multiple departments, communicating via radio. Despite their busy schedules, they were very kind to visitors and made a great impression with their willingness to go the extra mile. They were also very kind to the children. The athletic facility is located in a small mountain area, so there's plenty of shade, and it was cooler than we expected. It wasn't crowded, so we were able to go at our own pace, taking breaks and trying new things without worrying about who was in front or behind us. I think it's perfect for children around elementary school age. There was even a small observation deck within the athletic facility, so it was great to be able to look out over the surrounding area. Since it's in the mountains, I imagine maintenance must be quite difficult, so I'm impressed by how well it's maintained. I also thought the restrooms were well-maintained. We also got to feed the carp from a swan boat. The children were excited by the amount of food packed into the capsules, and they were delighted when the carp flocked in even larger numbers. One day wasn't enough time to play, so we'd like to return. It's not a state-of-the-art facility, but I thought it was attractive because of the natural atmosphere that doesn't feel overly elaborate and the friendly staff.
(Translated by Google) Children from 3 years old pay 3,000 yen with adults. For a family of four, it's 12,000 yen and 1,000 yen for parking, for a total of 13,000 yen. For this amount, you can see old bicycles, swan boats, a putter golf course with rotten grass, a dilapidated maze, a fishing pond in a dirty pond, an athletics course with rotting trees, and a dilapidated herb garden full of dead trees and weeds. The only ride is a mini steam locomotive. And that's really all there is to it. And that's all it costs. You'll need a lot of courage and determination to get there, or it might be tough. Most of the facilities are deserted, so I recommend it to those who like the melancholy feel. I don't think most people will go there again. It might be worth going at least once in your life. I'm impressed that they can manage to get by with this. Pretty much the best spot around when it comes to watching the cherry blossoms bloom (late-March to early April). Great view of the city and Tateyama Bay as well (including the sunset).
It’s like most castles in Japan, but worth stopping in to take a look. Nice view from the top and you can take a look at some lyrebirds, a monkey and a speaking cockatoo on the way up the hill. Recommend visiting when the cherry blossoms are in bloom, unfortunately, I was too early.
Nice place to hangout
Views from the park are beautiful!
Nice little hike. Cool kids play area at bottom. Great veiw, low cost.
It's impressive to see this samurai castle. It's just a shame that they keep a pet monkey behind bars... So unnecessary in today's day and age.

Great place to get away from city traffic or hassles. Please note after car parking you need to walk like 100-150 meters uphill & then couple hundred stairs to reach at castle. Take extra caution during rainy day
Can believe reached this place. Stunning view of the great castle. fortified structure that was predominantly built during the Middle Ages by nobility, royalty, or military orders. Good place to visit 👍👍
I love peaceful place. So i would give 5 star for this castle. It’s in top of the mountain we need to walk about 500m from parking and you can enjoy the castle and it’s surrounding view.
Nice castle up on a hill, which is easy accessible. Up on the hill it can be quite windy, so during winter time also chilly. You need to take your shoes out when entering the castle and the two stairs take you to the upper level for some nice views of the surroundings
A beautiful small castle on a small hill, but has a long history. The original place is now a small mound and they built a new Castle next to it. To visit this place you have to take the JR Uchibo zen (line) and get down at Kisarasu station. From there change take the Kuriru line and get down at Kuriru station. From the station you have to take a taxi to the castle entrance or if you go by car there is a big parking place. Walk up hill about 15 min. to reach the Castle. Nice view from the top of the hill.
A place where you can experience Japanese culture. A large building stands out. The castle is located on top of a mountain, so you can see the surrounding area for a long distance.
The castle tower is a reconstruction with nothing inside but the views are amazing. The museum shows the interesting history and there is a visitor center with pretty good food (boar curry!) at the parking lot. The castle is a 10-15 min climb up a slope and stairs from there.
The museum has some very interesting pottery and swords and it was free. The castle was closed for some reason so we walked up the hill to discover we couldn't go to the castle. Too bad.

Nice & relaxing place & Adorable price and the food is delicious 😋👍
The atmosphere is great, with helpful staff and cute cats. The only downside is that the scones don't have clotted cream. There's also a strong smell from a farm or chicken coop on the terrace, and you'll be bathed in a mist of water.
Just like our favorite walled garden in Lincolnshire! Scones were good, maybe get some real clotted cream? Garden was great and well worth the visit. Cats were cute!
A little piece of England in the mountains of Japan. Amazing cozy spot!
Worthwhile visiting all the way!
(Translated by Google) A hidden paradise in the forest, Dream Place Rose Garden is truly an amazing place! What impressed me most were the rescued cats who live there! They were all so friendly, and it was so heartwarming to see them wandering freely around the garden. It's a perfect environment for cat lovers! 🐈 The English-style garden design is truly beautiful; every shot is picturesque, and the sight of the cats blending into the natural surroundings was amazing! We had a delicious meal and enjoyed the view from the window, enjoying a relaxing time. They also have a wonderful selection of antiques and botanical items, and the fact that you can find antiques at affordable prices is a great plus. This handmade paradise, where the owners' love is palpable in every corner, has a truly wonderful, warm atmosphere where people, cats, and insects are all welcome. The location, in a quiet forest just off the Boso Skyline, was also perfect; it felt like I'd wandered into the English countryside. This garden can be enjoyed throughout the year, not just during rose season, so I definitely want to return! 🌿 This is a truly special place that I would recommend to cat lovers, rose lovers, and anyone seeking spiritual healing! It goes well with the scones◎ It was filling and satisfying, and I was very satisfied. The plates were all rose-themed, which was lovely♪ I noticed that there were a lot of people having afternoon tea. It's nice that there is also terrace seating! Admission to the rose garden is 800 yen per adult. The roses had already finished blooming at this time of year, but I was impressed that the hydrangeas were still in full bloom. By passing through the straw ring, I was able to purify myself of the sins and impurities of the past six months, and I hope to spend the remaining six months in good health and without illness... It was a hot day with good weather, and I was sweating just by standing there, but the sky was beautiful (^-^) This shrine is not large, but it is very clean and beautiful (*^-^) When I received the goshuin and shared the frog purification fan that I had researched in advance, the female priest politely responded and explained it to me (*^-^) The Boshu fan is one of the three major fans in Japan and is a traditional craft of Chiba Prefecture. The paintings of the frog and the god Hiki drawn by local Japanese painter Kikuchi Ayuko [Danchido] are so cute that I wanted to buy three different ones♡ The goshuin book has a wave pattern on the cover because over 100 of Ihachi's works were donated to the old shrine. I've always loved [Wave Ihachi], so I'd like to share my next goshuin book with him (^-^) Ihachi influenced the famous Katsushika Hokusai, who said, "He is the best in the world at carving waves" and "If you go to Kanto, don't carve waves!" ! The dragon is also very beautiful♡ I've digressed, but after doing some research, I found out that Ihachi's works were burned down in a suspicious fire in 1970 (>_<) This Myoken-sama is loved as the god of "eye disease Heiho" and "beautiful eyes", so you can also get amulets (^-^) (Original) 2025/06/27(金)に参拝しました。

It is a rare combination of temple and shrine. The enshrined deity is Emperor Yamato Takeru, who is said to have been involved in the subjugation of the Boso region. Located on top of a mountain, the grounds are surrounded by nature, with a quiet, pure air, creating a truly pleasant atmosphere. The goshuin (red seal) was handwritten, and it was impressive how carefully and beautifully it was written. perfect place to swim in the river or cool down , fishing possible. Great for kids .
This is a great camp ground. The facilities are clean and well maintained with free showers. We were there at the beginning of June 2014 on a Saturday and Sunday night. It was a busy Saturday night but not full (maybe 50-70% capacity) and there was a good vibe with everyone. Great for young kids. The river is not that nice as a swimming river but good to play on the edges of with two areas to access it from. About a 30-40 minute drive to Mother Farm, and makes a good day out. The staff were lovely and very friendly (Japanese speaking only). They have fishing there but it is out of a concrete pond, not very nice. I am not sure if you can fish in the river, but maybe worth bringing your own pole.
Stayed in September with my son. We planned to stay two nights but, unfortunately, we needed to leave on the second day because of a typhoon. Close to a small river where many kids enjoyed late summer. We visited onsen by 10-minute-driving.
+ Place is very nice, green and beautiful. There is also goats , you can feed. - Stayed 2 nights. Shower didn’t have hot water in the first night. They count even 6 months old baby. Management not professional.
Beautiful auto camp place. But there are many camper at weekends. If u want to feel nature and tranquil time, u may change place.
Quite large camping‘s place some of them with electricity there a little pets and two Rivers owner and the workers are very friendly there is free shower between 3 o’clock to 9 o’clock and garbage as well is free definitely recommend it

The water facilities and trash area were also clean, making it very comfortable. There were plenty of activities, and it didn't just end with a BBQ, so it was very satisfying. We weren't able to try everything, so next time we'd like to stay two or three nights. First time: Cicada hunting in August (a third-grader caught 60 in one night!) They told us we couldn't go to the river because of heavy rain the day before. Second time: Playing in the river in August (the current was gentle, and the kids had a great time floating down the river on their swim rings). Still unfinished: Fishing pond, goats, spring water, looking for bugs in the fields, exploring the grounds. There is a place nearby where you can play in the river, and some children were playing in the river and some were fishing, but my children didn't bring life jackets, so they enjoyed fishing at the fishing pond instead of playing in the river 😆 It is said that they were able to catch moloko and smallmouth at the fishing pond. There were also carp swimming around, but the carp was so big that it looked like my rod would break if I caught it. My husband found out that the river there was Obisu River, so we thought we might be able to catch some black bass, so we did some fishing, but there were small children playing in the river around us, so we just had a little fun 😄 The water from the kitchen is good for washing dishes, but I think it's best not to use it for drinking. Once I drew water there, the color of the water was dirty, so the best way to cook rice is to use spring water or buy water at a convenience store. In the shower room, if you are unlucky, the water flow is poor. It seems that hot water is only available in the kitchen from December to February. Charcoal and firewood are sold at the campsite, but you can buy better quality charcoal at the nearby YOSHIDAYA supermarket 👍 I enjoyed camping again this year 😄 (Original)

The road is narrow, but there are mirrors on the curves, making it a little wider. Although some areas are small, there are shelters here and there. There were about 7 to 8 parking lots that could accommodate about 10 to 25 cars. The toilet has also been rebuilt ♿️ We also have support. There was a stall in the parking lot and they had delicious large-sized grilled food♪♫There were 2 other stalls. It's about a 10 minute leisurely walk from the parking lot to the main hall. There is a small step in the middle The area near the main hall is a slightly steeper uphill slope with curves. It would be a good idea to avoid pushing it by yourself as it would be a burden. (Translated by Google) When I went to get a goshuin, I couldn't find the place, so I went to a place where amulets and other things were sold. When I approached the woman, she responded a little curtly, saying, "I'm at the counter behind you." It didn't really bother me. I went to the counter I was directed to, and the window was closed, but there was someone inside, so I said hello, and the man asked, "What?" When I asked for a stamp, he said, ``I'm just having lunch,'' and asked, ``Give me the stamp book,'' which seemed to be really disgusting. I had just bought a goshuin book, and the first thing I wanted to do was get it at my favorite place, so I left in the morning and came to enjoy it, but I was treated with such a disappointing attitude, and I felt very bad. Ta. I'm not going anymore.
