I love the cute yellow color and the structural design of this bridge.

(Translated by Google) On June 22nd of this year, I took a video of the second bridge (Oyano Bridge) as seen from a cruiser and a video of me driving on the electric scooter ZERO9 on the bridge. The view of Oyano Bridge from the cruiser was quite impressive, especially when passing under the bridge. I'd love to! Take a cruiser and see the second bridge (Oyano Bridge) from the sea. I highly recommend it. When you have free time, search for ``Kumamoto Electric Kickboard'' on YouTube, I would be happy if you could watch it. Large store selling lots of local products and delicious foods and snacks! Large statue of Shiro Amakusa outside.
This is an useful roadside drop by for a snack or some local delicacy. The mood is very Hawaiian. Good for like 30 min relaxing time after a bit of driving.
Made a quick stop in the summer during my road trip. A very cute place to take a break and relax. They also have lots of souvenirs, ice cream and shaved ice. Plenty of parking space.
It is beautiful island and it is believed Christianity in japan begins here.
If you go to Amakusa, don't forget to stop by and buy souvenirs here.
Free cup of refreshing tea. Lots of free tasters. Delicious chikua, many varieties. Other Amakusa omiyage fish and seafood products. Amakusa Sable biscuits, ice cream, accessories, clean loos and free parking.
Great place for a stop during our camper trip in Amakusa. Bought some yummy local oranges. Clean and well designed toilet.

This museum does a great job of telling the story of early Christians in Japan. Which is a small but interesting part of Japanese history. There is a modest entrance fee and pictures are not allowed inside the building. English and Japanese borchers are available as well as a Japanese Audio Guide.
Kind of interesting place telling the story of Amakusa Shiro, a 15 year old boy thought to be the son of God who led 37000 Japanese christians to fight the local authorities that were oppressing them. Despite some early victories it didn't end well for them. That is the short version anyway. Hopefully we can learn some lessons from history like this and we can all live in peace together
Though it’s a bit far, you can really sense the history there.
This is a really cool and well done little museum, highly recommended!
(Translated by Google) I stopped here for a restroom break during a ride. The parking lot is well-maintained, and the restrooms are clean, making it a wonderful facility. I couldn't help but ring the "Bell of Love" lol. It makes you wonder what those in power were thinking at the time, especially when it came to the oppression of Christians.

(Translated by Google) As the name suggests, this is a museum about Amakusa Shiro, and it is located along the national highway. There are several other museums in the Amakusa region, but this is the only one I was able to visit this time, and they are quite far apart. Amakusa Shiro is portrayed as a hero, but in the end they lost the battle... However, before that, the cause of the conflict was the conflict between Buddhists and Christians, and the details of that were explained in detail, but when it comes to conflicts over religion, it makes you feel the lack of progress of humanity, as they continue to this day in countries all over the world. The buildings were quite interesting, but I believe photography was prohibited in the exhibits inside. Nice place to chill, have ice cream and coffee
Great food and amazing location next to the water. Recommended✨
Nice seaside spot with a bakery, souvenir shop, restaurant, gelato parlour, and a killer view.
It's a great place for day!
Arguably the most おしゃれ restaurant in Amakusa. About a 45 minute drive from Hondo, I always make it a point to stop by when going to and fro from Kumamoto. The pizzas look great and there are a ton of desserts to choose from. They’ve got a pretty decent menu, but I always end up getting the garlic prawns. What I love the most is the environment though... such a chic area by the pier. I come here whenever I yearn for something that reminds me of the big city 😂
Comfortable spot with good restaurant and easy souvenir/shopping area. Can have a nice rest when waiting for boat rides.
The Dolphin Watching cruise is amazing! The cruise will ensure you'll get a good view of the dolphins. The terrace itself, where you'll board the cruise, is ok. The view is nice, food is good but aside from that, there aren't much nearby. Although I haven't tried other activities like biking. Overall, it's a good place to visit.

Playful family attraction featuring an aquarium where visitors can touch & interact with dolphins.
Slide 1 of 8
Located in Amakusa, Kumamoto. It is an attraction located 3 minutes away from Pearl Garden entrance. It features an aquarium, a short dolphin exhibition, and many more. You can, however, ride the dolphin shuttle service to and from Sea Donut Aquarium for a fee. The Pearl Garden, on the other hand, has souvenir stores, restaurants, and cafes. This place is perfect for friends, families, and couples.
Interesting aquarium! There are parking lots right outside the aquarium but it can get busy. From the carpark there is a bus that can take you to the aquarium for 100 yen. There are also dolphin shows and interaction timeslots! Must visit if you love aquariums!
We travel from Kumamoto by bus, the journey is about 1.5 hour, it’s 10 mins walk from the bus stop, the aquarium is very kid friendly, a must see dolphin show every hour which u can get ticket at entry office, there are lots to see around there but would recommend to plan ahead if you want to have more plans
If you go on a weekend try to get early to get a parking spot. There Is a cute pink dolphin bus that will take you to the aquarium for 100yen. At the entrance you can get you ticket from the machine. There is no register or someone to talk to. Once there you will see a square aquarium at the entrance that has 3 big turtles and some sharks. Then you have to cross a little bridge to the donut aquarium. They have some special time where you can pet and feed the dolphins. Make sure to line up for that too. What I liked about this place is that you can touch the starfish. The kids were happy and the stuff are friendly
it was fun to be with my family. but there were so many cars.
This is a small aquarium so don't expect to much but it was actually interesting enough. I always feel sorry for the dolphins that these places insist on keeping but apart from that it was worth a visit if you are in the area. The nearby restaurants area was good.
This was the best aquarium experience while in Japan across Honshu Shikoku and kyushu. Their dolphin performances were spectacular, and so many interaction options for kids with ocean animals. The dolphon feeding is a must. They also had a nice kumamon shuttle bus, and kumamon jumping castle in the playground. A great daytrip.
So very weird, and yet SO worth a visit! The staff at this semi-submerged aquarium really love to joke with customers via tongue-in-cheek comments on the info' notices next to the fish here, though you need to be able to read Japanese or have a helpful Japanese friend nearby in order to get the jokes. That aside, the variety and method of the display areas makes it worth the entrance fee. Just one caveat, the restaurant on-site is best avoided.

gorgeous scenery on a clear day! definitely recommend- though the road was quite narrow and daunting it is worth it.
Nice view from the top. You can go close to the top very quickly with a car. From the parking to the top observatory is about 70-80 steps. The road is a bit risky. You should be careful while driving, perhaps avoid if you are a new driver.

(Translated by Google) This is a spot where you can get a panoramic view of the Amakusa Five Bridges. Bridge No. 1 is only faintly visible due to its distance, but the blue ocean and the islands of Kami-Amakusa spread out below, making for a truly impressive view. 😃 There was a slight haze on the day, but the view was still great. ☺️ From the parking lot, it's a short climb up some steep stairs to the observation deck. It takes less than two minutes. [For those driving] The road from the base to the parking lot is narrow, but not extremely narrow, and there are plenty of passing spots, so it's not particularly difficult. It's not a long distance, either. However, as other people have commented, there's only enough space for two vehicles to pass each other, so if you're driving in a group or a line and encounter an oncoming vehicle, you're in trouble. 1. Even if you're not in a group, we recommend keeping a distance of 50-60 meters if there's a vehicle ahead of you. 2. While driving, be sure to check for passing spots. This will be useful if you need to back up to give way.

(Translated by Google) [Date of entry: 2024/01/05] Date of correction: 2024/06/13 *Correction of access road It's been more than 30 years since the construction of the Mui Observatory, which is certified by the Ministry of the Environment as "the observatory where you can see the most beautiful starry sky in Japan for stargazing." I've always wanted to go, and finally it happened. The director said that the building is not new, but since it is a facility for observing the starry sky, the exterior didn't bother me that much. The facilities inside the building are not the latest, but they are just right for getting your eyes used to observing the starry sky, the black lights are lit without any gaps, and the stars floating in the universe painted on the walls are beautifully hand-drawn by professional artists, and the cleaning is also neat. Regardless of the age of the facilities, I feel that it is more important to take good care of what is available. I was impressed by the maintenance that was done, such as mowing the grass and cutting down trees in the surrounding area. The stairs were steep and narrow, but there were handrails installed, so I felt safe. In fact, the atmosphere can be improved by letting small red-leaved ivy grow on the building, like Pazu's house in Hayao Miyazaki's Laputa: Castle in the Sky 😊 At the observatory we were heading for, on a new moon night when the city lights were not an eyesore, the director gave us a detailed live explanation of the Quadrantids meteor (2024.01.04.). (It was the first time in my life that an observatory answered my questions!) I could clearly see the shape and color of Jupiter, the Great Red Spot, and its moons, which I had only seen in picture books, and Subaru (the Pleiades star cluster) looked beautiful. I was moved by the story of the starry sky that I had been casually looking at until then. After the observation, I was able to have fun at the adjacent observation platform. I'm glad I went!! I sincerely hope that the Cassegrain reflecting telescope will be repaired as soon as possible so that I can see it with automatic settings! ️ I'm also grateful to the director for manually adjusting the focus✨✨✨ Next time, I plan to check the cloudless days and closed days and collect all the astronomy stickers✨ Why is the name of the observatory "Mui"? ? It's a pun...🤔...I've been wondering about this for a long time, but in the local dialect, "to see" = "myuui (to see)"...‼ ️‼ ️ Is it derived from a familiar dialect❓❗️(O_O)❗️ For decades. I mistakenly thought it was a very pretentious and stylish name... I'm sorry to say this only now, but I take my hat off to the good sense of the person who selected it! It's very easy to remember, and once you understand the meaning, you won't forget it. There is a campsite next door, so you can stay there and go to the observatory. The campsite seems to have Segways and electric carts. There is a wood stove in the management building, and it seems you can drink alcohol. A drink while watching the stars. I'd like to try it. ‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥‥ [Route from Route 266] Entered on 2024.01.05] *2024/06/13 "Addition regarding the approach road from the direction of Narukawa Kannon Falls" ⚫︎The road from Daido Port is the easiest and recommended The straight-line distance from Daido Port to the summit of Kuratake is about 1.8 km. It's about 1.5 km in a straight line from 4.5 m above sea level to an altitude of about 469 m, so it's only natural that there will be a steep slope. I'm rather grateful that I can reach the top by car. The richness of nature that can be seen on both sides of the forest road is also fun. It's said that the air is clean on mountains with red pines. There are no street lights, so oncoming cars are easily visible at night. I'm sure the locals who live a little above the middle of the mountain are volunteering to clean the road as a daily road. 🤔✨ There must be no time to catch your breath during the rainy season and summer mowing. Thank you for cleaning it up. The road to the observatory has been neatly mowed and trees cut down, and it is all paved, with no sinkholes, cracks, or steps, so you can drive up there in a normal car without any problems. *If there are stones on the side of the road, they are almost always ones that a wild boar stepped on and rolled over by chance. *Wide cars, high-riding campers, etc. If you have a low-riding car, drive at your own risk. *‼️[From the direction of Narukawa Kannon Falls (Shimonuki Port side)]‼️ You should be able to drive and pass without any problems from here. Not suitable for those who have only ever driven on white-lined roads! ! ! ! There are a lot of hairpin curves in short spans. If you don't drive on the outside, long cars or low-riding cars may scrape their undersides. There are quite a few scratches on the underside of the car, but they were all caused by turning the steering wheel too early^^;;;;; Conveyor mirrors are usually installed in places where visibility is poor. If you turn on the low lights and drive slowly during the day, you probably won't feel that dangerous. *Set the navigation system to a fairly wide range and predict the curves ahead. Please drive safely and have a fun holiday. *This is a road where locals live. Fallen leaves don't have holidays. *I also have the opportunity to use this road from time to time. I always feel that it is a well-maintained road. (It's not a harsh road. It's disrespectful to real harsh roads😳) Recently, more people who are not used to mountain roads have been using it. Rather than the center...I often find myself blocked right in the middle. I have no choice but to stop. I want to be a person who has the generosity and kindness to give in to others and say, "I'm glad nothing happened." *This is a road used by locals. It is not a tourist road, so please remember that you are intruding on this road. *The open drains are for dealing with repeated heavy rain (to remove blockages). Be careful not to get your wheels off the road. *It is natural to encounter wild boars and raccoon dogs. No... they are everywhere. If you occasionally see an owl 🦉 or a deer, you'll be lucky. Keep in mind that we are intruding on wild animal territory, drive safely, and quietly observe the beautiful starry sky.

The local government that installed it probably set the end of its lifespan, but I wonder if the facility itself is heading towards closure. The outdoor toilets are also closed. I'd like to see it restored somehow. It's a shame, as it's a treasure island where you can properly observe the stars. I guess they couldn't find anyone to use it. What a shame. The management is kind, and I'd like to come back to camp, so it's a shame. The current director is apparently knowledgeable about stars until mid-April, so it's worth going. Perhaps it's possible to create a system to promote the charm of this place, with public funds to maintain it as the property of the local government. You can see the Milky Way with the naked eye, and the night view overlooking it is also very beautiful. It's dangerous at night, so I had no choice but to look at the observatory when the road was dark and I turned on the light. It's the worst when there's a creepy old man who says, "I'm sorry, I'm taking a picture right now." If I wait, can you give it to me? I tried to wait quietly for him, but he continued to take photos by himself, muttering something.I was so taken aback that I took a photo as well. so what? teeth? I should have just said what I wanted. I feel like an idiot for trying to be so careful. The roads are so narrow that even light vehicles cannot pass each other, and thinking about the cars that may come in front of you at any moment can only be stressful. I'm so grateful that I was able to get home safely in my small, large car. There are people who monopolize the starry sky, and if that person was an employee, it would be even worse 👋 No repeats. It would be better to search in the Aso area, where the roads are wider. I understand why no one is alone.

(Translated by Google) It's about 400 meters from Shiratake Forest Park Campsite, and it takes about 20 to 30 minutes to walk at a leisurely pace while taking a break. I think it's a good walk since it takes less than an hour round trip. There is a 10m long rocky area with no stairs, so please be careful where you step.
