The entrances are both accessible for wheelchair users, but the one through the Atkinson is much easier as its an automatic door, so I can use this when I am on my own The cafe has a great area at the back which is very spacious and a little quieter which I prefer, so I sat here and I was able to stay in my wheelchair and access the table comfortably The disabled toilet facilities are right near the cafe as well, and uses a Radar key entry system. The toilets are lovely and clean with plenty of room to turn in and a good drier too! (always a bonus) I was offered table service which was fantastic, as I find this much easier, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I was with a friend for a catch up and we were both really hungry by the time we ordered, so we we’re grateful to see plenty of comforting filling food on the lunch menu! We both went for the Lancashire Cheese and Red Onion Panini, which was served with a tasty Homemade Creamy Coleslaw and some Kettle Chips. We had a San Pellegrino Lemon drink to help us cool down after shopping, and also a Chai Latte and a Cappuccino! I loved the fact there was wifi available, and also lots of plug sockets around for if you need to hook up! I will be returning here for a work lunch thats for sure! Tried their highly recommended Welsh Rarebit on sour dough toast, with homemade tomato chutney and a delicious avocado side salad which really hit the spot. And it was every bit as good as the reviews said it would be. But then, they have an excellent kitchen team of Paul, Jack and Adam slaving away out of sight, with a very attentive front of house team led by a very happy, intelligent, ready smiling young Matthew, and the delightful young Anneva, who looked after me and made me feel most welcome. I get the feeling that visitors become regulars quite easily in The Pavilion, and I hope they let me come back again soon. It's nice to find a chef who knows that Welsh Rarebit is so much more than just 'cheese on toast', and this Welsh Rarebit was a sheer delight. Currently there is a Lord of the rings exhibition and the gallery is showcasing artwork which hasn’t been seen in over 100 years, and they are displaying it in the old traditional way of cramming as many paintings in one room, this is not there usual way of displaying things, but just a respect for the way it once was in the Atkinson of old. It’s really nice and it features my favourite painting of all times ‘John collier’s Lilith’ which is breathtaking. So many beautiful pieces of art on display. It is free to visit. There is also a lovely little teddy bear display, of which you can adopt one, and receive updates from your teddy bear, which is a lovely idea for youngsters and a great way to donate to the Atkinson and keep this wonderful Southport attraction going.

I came here on holiday and loved the exhibitions soo much that i had to visit it twice and i believe that it should supported because it's a lovely place to visit. The children's play area, the alice in wonderland inspired exhibitions along with the ancient egyptology collection, lovely cake shop.

Twice we have been now and the same waitress has served us both times. Both times she has appeared irritable and quite sharp when asked for condiments such as salt for our chips. We have been twice and felt like we was an inconvenience to the waitress on both occasions, we only returned the second time as we was quite impressed with the food- however as well as the shocking service the food wasnt up to par the second time- something that we would have mentioned nicely to our waitress if she didnt avoid and ignore us. With so many businesses closing im unsure why a restaurant would employ people who have zero customer service skills. People go out for a nice meal as a way to relax and catch up with loved ones, this kind of service really does put a bad taste in your mouth

Lots of great vegetarian and vegan options and slimming world menu choices for those trying to stick to plan. My friend and I arrived Thursday morning for 09:30, parked up with plenty of spaces. We didn't make a reservation, just walked in. Nice touch was we could sit where we wanted. Good scan of the menu reveals plenty of drink and food options. To begin with, we ordered a Latte and my friend ordered a Steak and Sausage Breakfast with orange juice, 2 slices toast, butter and marmalade. I had the Breakfast Platter, minus black pudding, added a fried egg instead. You can adapt your breakfast contents. Also brown toast, butter and red jam with orange juice. We had both breakfasts arrive promptly, everything was beautifully presented and was importantly piping hot. We were both very impressed and stuffed upon finishing this feast.
