ジラフマナー宿泊の時に訪れました。 なぜか係員のかたが、キリンに合う前に施設の中をトレッキングしてくれました。 その後、施設の中でキリンや施設のことなどを説明してくれてようやくキリンと対面。 ペレット(餌)餌をあげるとどんどん食べてくれます。 手がキリンのよだれまみれになりますが、そのぬくもりがたまらなく心地よいです。 そして食べた後に顔を横にしてこちらを見てきます。 想像ですが、至近距離だとこちらの顔がよく見えないので横を向くのだと思います。その目もとても愛らしかったです。

7年ぶりに行ったら改装されてて綺麗になってた。 Residentは400ksh Non-Residentは1500ksh 支払いはクレジットかmpesaのみ。 メインのアクティビティはキリンに餌をあげる。1500kshは少し高いかなと思っていたが以外に楽しかった。

ドライブサファリで訪れました。 遠くにいる野生動物を見つけるのはとても困難で見つけた時はとても感動しました。 キリン，サイ，ダチョウ，ヒヒなどを見ることが出来ましたが、ライオンは見つけられませんでした。 ガイドさんの話によると別のグループは見たとのことでした。 ガイドさんがとても親切でお話も楽しく、３時間ほどのサファリでしたが、とても充実しました。 悪路を走り過ぎたせいで、その後ランドクルーザーが不調になりました。 どこかのベルトが外れたみたいです。 ラバの調子がと言っていたのでラバーは日本語でゴムというと、消しゴムのゴムねと納得されていました。

首都にあるサファリパークは世界でここだけなのでは？ 動物のいる平原の向こうにナイロビの高層ビルが見えるのはなかなかオツ。 しかしながら動物との遭遇率は他の国立公園よりもかなり低い印象。

ナイロビ市内や空港からも近い国立公園です。 空港から市内へ移動した際に利用したタクシーの運転手さんにお願いして翌日に連れて行ってもらいました。 公園内からはナイロビ市内のビル群を望む事ができるほどに市内から近いにも関わらず、多くの野生動物がそれぞれの生活を営む姿を見ることができます。 私の場合はバッファロー、キリン、ライオン、サイに加えて、何種類もの鳥や猿を見ることができました。 ケニアに着いて初めてのサファリの場所としておすすめします。

ナイロビ市内から驚くほど近くにある、国立公園です。その距離は公園内から、ナイロビのビル群が見えるほどです。 朝が捕食の時間で、動物と遭遇する機会が高いとのこと。6:00開園に合わせて訪問しました。運が良いとライオンに遭遇できないとのことでしたが、幸いにバッファローを仕留めたライオンを見ることができました。 またさまざまなガイドの車がありますが、動物を見つけた際に、突然カーレースのように先を競って移動します。サファリ向きのSUVよりも、普通の乗用車の方が早いので、案外日本のクルマの方が優位でした。
