April is the perfect time to witness the annual wildebeest migration in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The Sheldrick trust looks after orphaned elephants. They are rescued from different parts of Kenya and brought in and given professional care and protection including medical care. The elephant babies seemed to be well looked after. One can feed the elephants and pet them too as they are very friendly. They also have two rhinos that are kept secure and taken care of. The organization seems to be very dedicated towards their goals and the people who work here do so with passion. You will need to book a visit through email at least 48 hours in advance and the visit is only from 11am to 12pm. Strongly recommended to visit if you are in Nairobi.
This is one of the most magical places I’ve ever visited (by far)!! The only recommendation I’ve give is to arrive early so you have a good view. It was amazing to learn about the critical work this wildlife trust is doing to save elephants from unfortunate situations. Even better, you can actually PET them if they come close enough which is a magical experience on its own.
One of the highlights in Nairobi is visiting this elephant orphanage. You can join a tour or book it online a few days ahead and get there by uber. Since this facility is located inside Nairobi National Park, you need to pay both national park fee and then this elephant orphanage fee. The elephant feeding show is only during 11 am and 12 noon.
Visiting the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust was an amazing experience! Getting to see the baby elephants up close and learn about their rescue stories was truly unforgettable. It’s incredible how much care and love the team puts into protecting and rehabilitating these animals. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Nairobi — it’s educational, heartwarming, and an absolute must-see right after Nairobi National Park.
It was the best experience of my life. Being able to see small elephants and even pet some of them when they came to say “hi” was magical. The whole place is amazing and spectacular and I would recommend everyone to visit this place. It is open only for one hour daily and after feeding and observing elephants, you can go and adopt one or buy some gadgets to support this place.
It’s a nice experience. The guy talking was very knowledgeable and knew every elephant by name and history. The wait to get in is unorganized and we had to pay an additional $147 to get into the park with the car which we thought was excessive (that’s not including the $20 per person to get into the elephant orphanage. To get in, you need to pre book online for the orphanage but also need to fill out a form to get into the park (which is mandatory) and if you haven’t done that beforehand, it could take a good 30 minutes to complete and pay for. The entry process is the only reason I gave it a 4 star and not a 5. It’s a shame because once inside, it was a definite 5 star.
Totally magical, one of the best things I've experienced. Once you're inside, you gather around the enclosure and the young elephants trot out into it, eagerly looking forward to.theor milk bottles. The drink them, some alone, some with help from their guardians. They then chew bark from branches, play with each other, roll in the mud and watch you. They get very close and you can even touch their rough skin. One of the main guardians gives information about each of the orphan elephants, what brought them to the Sheldrick Trust, and also some information about elephants in general. With the KWS park entrance fee, a visit isn't so cheap, but it's worth every penny.
A must visit for all animal enthusiasts, sanctuary provides a home for orphaned and abandoned wildlife, one of the charities that I'm more than happy to support. Loved the stories of how each of the elephants were rescued, good job guys, keep it up.

A must-visit in Nairobi! Such a fun and unique experience getting up close to the giraffes — they’re gentle and beautiful. The staff were welcoming and shared great information about conservation. Perfect spot for photos and learning more about Kenya’s wildlife. Great for both adults and kids!
The Giraffe Center is such an interesting and fun place to visit! The area is big, clean, and well maintained, and the toilets are also very clean. You can feed the giraffes up close, which is an amazing experience. The staff are nice and helpful, and I didn’t have to wait long in line. A great spot for both adults and kids — highly recommended! The things selling in their shops are a but expensive and they only accept card !
TWIGA 🦒🦒 In the heart of Karen, where the trees sway slow, Tall necks greet you with a gentle bow 🦒. Tongues blue and bold, They stretch for pellets, stories unfold 🥕. Just wooden floors and rails 🌿, Where conservation dreams set sail ⛵🌍. From city chaos to leafy calm 🚐🌳, Giraffe Centre heals like herbal balm 🍯🧘.
I recently visited the Giraffe Centre, and it turned out to be one of the most wholesome experiences I’ve had in Nairobi. From the moment I walked in, the place felt calm, organized, and very welcoming. The best part was getting to feed the giraffes up close. Standing on the raised platform and having a giraffe gently lean in for a food pellet is such a surreal moment — they’re incredibly calm and friendly. It’s one of those experiences you can’t fully describe until you actually do it. The staff were really friendly and knew so much about the giraffes. They explained how each giraffe has its own personality, and you can actually notice it when you’re feeding them. It made the whole experience feel more meaningful, not just like a typical tourist stop. The place is well-kept, clean, and perfect for photos. If you have time, the little nature trail inside the compound is a nice bonus — quiet, peaceful, and a good escape before you leave. It does get a bit crowded depending on the time of day, so going early is a plus. Souvenirs are there, but slightly pricey if you’re on a budget. Overall, it’s a short visit, but a really memorable one. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the Giraffe Centre is definitely worth the stop — it leaves you with a deeper appreciation for wildlife and some great photos to go home with.
well the giraffe centre is a beautiful place to visit to see the giraffes up close and personal! U can feed them the food they provide you! You have to travel a distance from heart of the city. The wait is not much and experience is once in a lifetime but the ticket charge is little too high frankly if you ask me! As a foreigner…what i paid is little too much for the activity! The souvenir shop is nice tho….. But they can work with reduced price also…
We visited the Giraffe Centre and had such a lovely experience! It was about a 45-minute drive from Nairobi, and even though it was a bit crowded, everything was well organized getting tickets was quick and smooth. We got to feed the giraffes, take some great photos, and the staff made sure everything was clean and hygienic with handwashing before and after. A really fun and unique experience, perfect for a quick visit from the city! 🦒✨
So fun!! A bit of a distance from town, I had to take a 1h uber ride but I think it was worth it. You get to feed maybe 2-3 different giraffes depending on your luck, learn a bit about them from the posters, but so memorable
The Giraffe Centre was such an exciting and memorable place to visit! Getting to see the giraffes up close and even feed them was an incredible experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the area was clean and well maintained. I highly recommend anyone visiting Nairobi to check out this place — it’s fun, educational, and perfect for all ages.

An incredible place! You can see wild animals in their natural habitat – lions, giraffes, rhinos, and zebras. A ride in an off-road vehicle amidst such wildlife is an unforgettable adventure. The park is beautiful and offers a true sense of connection with nature. I highly recommend it!
Great experience and fun day. I saw most of the animals although when it was announced that there was a lion in the area, everyone would rush to get there and they'd get close to the lion to get photo opportunities and they drove in the path in which the lion was walking and I didn't like that. There's supposed to be a 10 meter distance from you and the animals which was not followed by many of the drivers. Overall a great experience.
I visited the Nairobi National Park twice on two separate days and both visits were amazing. A large variety of animals can be seen in this park except for the elephant. Come here in the morning when it's cool. In the afternoon the animals will find shade to avoid sun exposure, which means you will likely not see them.
A pretty magical and unexpected place to be honest. The proximity to Nairobi means it is really accessible and there are a great range of animals to see, which is all the more fascinating because of it closeness to Nairobi. I had a great time and thought it was amazing. I went for the full day having lunch at a Maasai lodge and after the main gate the jeeps thinned out which gave a better sense of just being there with the animals. Highly recommend going to see the animals. We saw lions, hippo, giraffes, rhinos, zebra, ostrich, crocodiles, antelope, gazelles, baboons and loads of different birds. Enjoy.
Oh My Gosh ! I entered the park with the expert help of the Manager of Ras Travel Noha along with my paid Safari Driver. At first , I was like okay I want to see a lion/lioness and was informed that it doesn’t work like that by my Safari Driver . He then said we will drive through Nairobi National Park and he will be on the lookout for lions ….. ooooh ,but there are no guarantees . Well, we started along , with the guide driving fairly slowly thru the park . Along the drive , we saw Zebra, giraffes , hippos , and all manner of wild birds and animals …but no lions . As the sun just started to set over the horizon and we were near the end of my day safari through Nairobi National Park , and I was just starting to feel just a little bit disappointed that I would not see a lion , a young male lion came slowly walking along the dirt road with another safari truck on its tail taking pictures . I smiled with joy and took what video I could from the distance we were at and thought that would be my lion experience . Then ,a little distance more ? I saw a grown female lioness just lounging in some grass , and a little distance more a male lion standing broad and tall surveying the area . YEAH !!!! I saw a lioness, a young lion and a Lion , roar . 🦁🙂
This was one of the most memorable and wonderful experiences I’ve had. Although I didn’t see all the big five, I saw a lion, but he didn’t look happy at all and had something around his neck. I thought this was their natural habitat. The drive was tough as expected, and I had a great time. Regarding costs, follow me on TikTok for the breakdown.
A unique safari right next to the city! Nairobi National Park is such an amazing place – it still feels unbelievable that you can leave the city and, within minutes, be driving among giraffes, zebras, rhinos, and so many other animals. The contrast of the wildlife with the Nairobi skyline in the background is something truly special. On our visit, we weren’t lucky enough to spot the lions, but the experience was still unforgettable. We enjoyed watching herds of buffalo and giraffes roaming freely, and the birdlife was incredible too. Even without seeing the “king of the jungle,” the park gave us that real safari feeling. The park is well maintained, and the guides are knowledgeable and friendly. It’s the perfect place to get a taste of Kenya’s wildlife if you’re short on time in Nairobi. Highly recommend it – and who knows, maybe you’ll be luckier with the lions than we were!
An unforgettable experience! We were lucky to see a lion hunting a giraffe — truly incredible to witness such wildlife moments so close to the city. The park is well maintained, the guides were knowledgeable, and the scenery was breathtaking. A must-visit for anyone coming to Nairobi!

Who hasn’t seen Out of Africa or read the book? If you’re in Niarobi looking for an interesting place to visit, then you just found it. The Biden house beautifully preserved with many original furnishings. You are given an escorted tour of the house and property with interesting description of history of the property. Watch the movie before you go to better appreciate the history of this once 6000 acre estate and coffee plantation!
Interesting spot to visit. The guide was lovely and helpful, toilets are not clean, the cafe is nice, a small market is always there. A gift shop as well. If you’re a movie fan, watch “out of Africa “ before you go there
The Karen Blixen Museum is charming but a bit limited. You can’t take photos inside the house, and there’s very little to read on your own, so you mostly depend on the guide. On the plus side, the guide is very friendly, the house is beautifully preserved, and enjoying a cup of coffee during the visit was definitely the highlight.
Informative, historical, mind blowing and very familiar. Her story draw you in as though you might have crossed paths in a another life. The intricate pieces of her desires around the house leave you with a sense of awe and appreciation of her timeline. Great place to vosot to understand Karen the enigma and Karen the area
Well maintained museum and friendly staff. At the entrance you will be appointed a guide who will show you around. We did not feel rushed - the guide took it gentle and adjusted to our pace. The history behind Karen Blixen and the story of the house is explained. Recommendation: do take the nature walk! It’s beautiful.
Museum was good in that you get to see Karen's house and understand her impact on the community. Our assigned guide was a young lady and she was very, very quiet so it was difficult to hear her.
The ban on photography inside the museum is quite unfortunate. This is because we can connect with the essence of the artifacts, transcending time and space. If the original creators were still alive, they would likely not want their works to be merely displayed for visitors to observe or exploited for profit. Of course, there are valid concerns about potential damage or contamination of the artifacts through photography. However, the relics in this museum are exhibits that are not susceptible to such issues. The dead are revived in the memories of the living. That is the true power of culture.
It will be more interesting if you watch the movie "OUT OF AFRICA " Or read the book before visiting Karen blixen museum....I personally liked the place ,it has a cool serene, decent staff 🎉🎊 Coming again soon

What a great experience. The exhibits were well laid out and the room with the skulls was spectacular. The animal exhibit made me feel small but the large collection of birds was nicely done.

I have never felt so compelled to write a review whilst still on holiday. We spent an absolutely fascinating few hours with our wonderful tour guide Hannah. She was so incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. She took us on an absolute journey around the museum. So much thought and love has gone into this place. The history was captivating -we were utterly absorbed and at times moved. This is a place you cannot miss if you are visiting Nairobi!
Nice variety of things to see. It’s probably not the most modern of museums but certainly worth a visit. The lighting is not that great in many places, so make sure to take your best glasses if you want to see everything. Buying a ticket is also a bit of a mission, but probably understandable in the drive to do everything through “e-citizen”. On the other hand, the card machine in the shop was not working, so I was not able to purchase a souvenir.
National Museum of Kenya Nairobi is an interesting place to visit if one is in Nairobi. It tells the developmental and political history of the country, and gives an insight into the present population distribution. It is also a place to learn a lot about the zoogeography of the country as models of the various animal species are preserved at the museum. There's also a small zoo within the compound where a few life animals are showcased. The gate fee is about 1500 Kenyan shillings into the museum for foreigners. I'm not going to upload models as I'm not sure if this is allowed
Solid museum. 1250 KES so basically $10 USD (Oct 2025). You need 2 hours to see the whole museum and maybe 3-4 hrs if you want to read thru. I enjoyed it, not amazing but still interesting to learn about animals and the history of Kenya. Independence granted by 1963. The are a bunch of birds that fills a 3 classroom size room with taxidermy birds. Pretty deep collection. There’s a snake zoo nearby inside and a small botanical garden. Random: no water bottles allowed so you’ll just place it on the front counter and pickup when you leave.
Great museum to visit if you find yourself in Niarobi looking for a daytime activity. Lots of nicely presented displays on the history of Kenya, animals, birds, tribal history etc. also a snake exhibit. Enjoy!
We recommend you take about 3 hours out of your day to fully see this place. It was a really wonderful experience and we learned so much. The reptile house is great for kids. They make you leave your water bottles outside but you get them back in the end. Highly recommend!!

It's always lovely to have a very good quality walk and feel the warmth of nature at Karura. Nothing can ever go wrong since it is nature. It is energising, refreshing, amazing, and beautiful. Full wellness pack!
Karura Forest is a hidden ecological gem within the sprawling urban jungle metropolis of Nairobi. Please allow yourself a minimum of 8 hours to sample most of the natural wonders contained in this park. Consider renting a bicycle 🚲 because the distances are significantly greater than you realize. Scope out an itinerary with Google maps and your cellphone's GPS in advance to minimize the chances of becoming totally lost and disorientated while navigating the park's labyrinth of trails 👣! Gates A, B, and C are circuitously connected; so take extra time to ensure that you locate the appropriate trail to return back to the proper exit gate to ultimately find your vehicle!!!🫣
Compared to the Limuru Gate entrance, this location offers a much more serene and quiet experience. The area is less busy with minimal traffic in and out of the forest, making it safer and more relaxing. It is family-friendly, with fewer cyclists, and also pet-friendly provided dogs are kept on a leash. Additionally, the presence of horse trails adds a unique touch to the experience.
- Perfect for taking walks, numbered trails and just serene - Can be chilly, so dress accordingly - There’s a parking lot if you go with your personal car Downside, there’s deforestation happening in some parts of the forest which is sad
I love how peaceful Karura Forest is! The soldiers at the gate are friendly and welcoming such a wonderful experience to have in my own country. It feels very safe; I enjoyed a lovely walk with my friend and later relaxed while reading a book. My only wish is that the foreigners’ entry fee wasn’t so high, as lowering it could encourage more visitors and boost our economy. Other than that, I absolutely love Karura any day!
Karura Forest Sigiria Gate is less crowded than the main entrances, making it perfect for a quiet walk or run. It’s conveniently located next to a nice café and playgrounds, so you can relax with a coffee while the kids play. A great little escape in the city!
Karura Forest 🌳🌿is a peaceful, well-maintained urban forest in Nairobi – perfect for nature lovers, joggers, cyclists, and anyone looking to escape city noise. The trails are clean and clearly marked, making it easy to explore waterfalls, caves, and picnic spots. Security is present, so it feels safe even for solo visitors. Entry fees are affordable, and there’s a café inside too. Highlights: - Beautiful walking/cycling trails - Waterfall and river views - Picnic areas and monkey sightings - Safe, clean, and family-friendly environment Highly recommended for a refreshing outdoor experience in Nairobi! 🌲☀️
What a great way to start the day. Fresh air. Wildlife. 5km and 10km routes. Dog park - off leash. The rangers should be strategically placed for emergencies.

KICC IS Located in the city square, it's a 32 story building that has hosted numerous international conferences. Exhibitions and events. Designed by Norwegian architect karlhenrik Nostvik and Kenyan architect DAVID MUTISO. KICC is an Iconic symbol of Kenyas independence and modernity. Construction;built in three phases between 1967 and 1973. Opened:The center was officially opened in SEPTEMBER 1973 BY FIRST PRESIDENT JOMO KENYATTA. kICC is not only an architectural icon but also a hub for business, culture and entertainment in CBD.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Kenyatta International Convention Centre is an iconic landmark in Nairobi and a great venue for conferences and events. The building has a rich history and offers stunning panoramic views of the city from the rooftop. The facilities are spacious and generally well-maintained, though some areas could benefit from a bit of modernization. Security is good, and the central location makes it easily accessible. A solid choice for business events and a must-visit for the rooftop view!
Offers a great opportunity for you to have a 360 view of Nairobi skyline. It is awesome. You take a lift to the 27th floor and walk the stairs up. Cost 200ksh for residents and 500ksh for non-residents. There are also a variety of halls and restaurants within the building.
One stop centre for international meetings. Tourists both domestic and foreign looking to see Nairobi from 27 floors off the ground, this is the place to be.Wide helipad atop the tower for scenic views, strong winds providing chilling breeze, beware if allergic. Overall nice chill spot.
KICC, or Kenya International Convention Center, is truly an amazing venue that offers breathtaking views and excellent service. The facility is spacious, well-equipped, and provides a professional environment perfect for conferences, events, and gatherings. The staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring every detail is taken care of to make your experience memorable. Overall, KICC stands out as a top-tier convention center in Kenya, combining stunning aesthetics with top-notch hospitality to meet the needs of any event.
On 15th August 2025, from the rooftop of KICC, we enjoyed an incredible panoramic view of Nairobi city. On the same day, Alkhair Royal School was honored with the privilege of visiting Parliament, making the experience both educational and memorable.
The KICC is like Nairobi’s official selfie stick. Go up to the rooftop and suddenly you’re a tour guide showing people “that’s Uhuru Park, that’s the CBD, and that tiny thing is your rent disappearing.” The building itself is iconic — round, tall, and unmistakably Kenyan. Inside, it hosts everything from serious government conferences to expos where you walk out with 10 flyers, 3 branded pens, and a stress ball you’ll never use. The lifts sometimes feel vintage (like a free history lesson), but they get the job done. Best part? The rooftop view of Nairobi — you haven’t really “been to Nairobi” if you haven’t taken a photo up there pretending you own the city.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place — the gardens are lush and relaxing, perfect for a quiet afternoon. I had the buffet lunch, and everything was fresh, well-prepared, and nicely presented. The service was friendly, and the outdoor setting made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for a calm, scenic meal in Karen!
A beautiful evening at Karen Blixen – wonderful atmosphere! We arrived at Karen Blixen without a reservation and were a large group of ten people. Despite that, we were welcomed very warmly and given a table without any issues – the staff was incredibly accommodating. The atmosphere was absolutely stunning. The interior design took our breath away – it’s beautifully decorated, tastefully lit, and created such a pleasant and inviting vibe. We genuinely enjoyed just being there. As for the food, eight out of ten of us were very happy with their meals – great selection and flavors. However, two dishes (one pasta and one pizza) didn’t quite meet expectations and were unfortunately not very good. That said, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. All in all, it was a truly lovely evening and a place we would definitely recommend – especially for the ambiance and warm hospitality.
We had great food here at one of the outside tables. Pork chops, pizzas and the Caesar salad. The chicken tikka pizza was amazing. A little bit on the pricey side but beautiful gardens and atmosphere.
The place is beautiful but the service was horrible. Maybe train your employees to do their jobs better. And the food was not what I expected. Very disappointing. I thought butter chicken would be a good option since it’s very well known here, but again disappointing. We had Loise as a waitress, she was rude.
I had my wedding weeks ago at the Karen blixen garden, I had paid for the whole amount a month to my wedding, but ask me why two days to the wedding the management calls us to ask for an extra huge amount aside for my wedding to push through.I remained adamant in not sending any extra money that was not in the contract or mentioned earlier. On the wedding day the lady head manager was sure to put off the lights at exactly 6pm ignoring any requests for upto 30minutes or less to finish up the wedding. We had to finish the wedding with no sound or lights. We agree there are rules in every business but i found the lady head manager unnecessarily ignorant and dismissive. The grounds are beautiful, but if you wish to have your wedding there. Be aware of this otherwise they will leave you in an awkward, discontent and sad ending after a beautiful day.
We went to inquire about a wedding venue, photoshoot and accommodation. They kept us waiting at the reception for such a long time. The lady taking us around was rude, condescending, and unpleasant. She was trying very hard to dissuade us from booking and using your facilities as you had more import guests (non-Kenyans). She said they would have to rush us on the wedding day because they have very 'sensitive' clients and showed us all the places we could not access. She kept reminding us about their very important guests and how we would get in their way. Why offer such facilities if you don't want such activities? When we asked about the honeymoon suite, we were told that they were always full and unavailable for booking. I didn't imagine I could face racial discrimination in my own country, particularly from fellow Kenyans. They have a beautiful space, but the discrimination and price exaggeration are not worth it.
I loved just chilling and relaxing there — it’s such a peaceful spot, surrounded by nature and good energy. Definitely a place you’ll want to come back to.
Had lunch in here, ordered calamari, ravioli & mixed meat platter. The food was missing flavors, meat tooo dry & they charged 2500 Ksh for 6 squid rings. Not coming back ever again.

It's a lovely place located in Karen. Beautiful grounds. It's ideal for picnics and events. Other activities include boat riding, archery, horse riding, and viewing wildlife.
The place is completely run down. The restaurant is no longer functional, chipping paint and closed exhibitions. Sad sight. Crocodile feeding is at 4pm on Sunday. Other than that...nothing much to see
We had an amazing experience in Mamba Village! It was one of our best experiences! Thank you to Agnes who gave us the best tour around the village. She was so passionate and you could tell she loves her job. Really recommend to go and have a walk around.
We visited Mamba Crocodile Village in Nairobi and had a fantastic time—definitely a hidden gem! We bought our tickets at the entrance with no hassle, and a friendly staff member guided us around, giving us an up-close look at the crocodiles and even the ostriches. It’s a very underrated spot that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. While the property could use a bit of upgrading, the experience itself was memorable and well worth it. I’d highly recommend it to anyone in Nairobi with an hour or two to spare—great for families or anyone looking for something a bit different.
I loved loved this place. The best for picnics actually, the environment is so beautiful, I went there with a group of learners and we loved the experience. The guide who took us to see the crocodiles and tortoises was so knowledgeable. We felt like the place should have a restaurant in case one gets hungry?Even better is that they have shelters, so you could still have a great time when the weather is rainy
It's a good place for picnics but not fun activities. Entrance fee at 200 shillings for adult citizen. The archery was good, 2k per session, boat riding across Africa, they offer horse riding, they've got quite a number of crocodiles and there's an ostrich on site. I give it a 2
Wild, weird, and unexpectedly heartwarming The best part? When the little tortoise popped out and raced toward me. I swear, it was like a slow-motion hug from nature. Moments like that just reaffirm your love for animals—you feel chosen. Like they somehow know you're one of the good ones. Then came the crocodile. Silent. Calculated. It moved toward me with stealth straight out of a wildlife documentary. I acted like I hadn’t noticed… but trust me, my heart was doing cartwheels. It was giving predator and prey—and I was the prey. For a second, I felt completely vulnerable, like a snack-sized visitor in its living room. Oddly enough, I loved the scare. I stayed on high alert the whole time—throwing glances here and there just in case an escapee was lurking. It felt like an extreme sport, but with sunbathing reptiles. That said, most of the animals were just vibing in the late morning sun, totally unbothered. Minding their business like retirees at a resort. Would I go again? Absolutely. But next time, I’m bringing a scaredy-cat friend—because what’s a little thrill without someone screaming beside you? Best part was when i paid local tour prices, who knew being Kenyan had its perks :)
Awesome place to get close to crocodiles. Bonus: the crocs are mostly those with some sort of injury that would prevent success in the wild.

An iconic feature and recreational park; here, you'll taste the awe of scenic nature in an unforgettable adventure. It just offers more at a location; from serene picnic grounds to long hiking trails. If you want to experience long zip lining, your satisfaction is guaranteed. What else? You can't imagine how large the windmills are till you're really sighting them. There's a need to tour again.
A moderate hike. Generally a good place to unwind as you catch the view of Kajiado county. If you have perfect eyesight, you can spot Nairobi town too. The views are magical. Highly recommend
The hike was worth it. I have been to the hills previously but I have never completed the 7 hills. This time I went with that solo mission to start from Ngong and finish in Kiserian. It took me 2hr 45 minutes to complete. I thought it would be 4 hours. But 3rd and 4th hill is the one that will determine whether you give up or push on. Going up requires tact and patience otherwise you might end up giving in. Take your time. Rest when you feel your body calling for it. I think it helps if you are in group to psych each other up each hill. Big up to the young primary school pupils who zoomed past me as they did a walk to raise awareness for Dyslexia. People like taking photos at the 'Mezzanine' hill where Kengen has windmills. But at the top of Hill 7 the scene is super.
Good trail and long distance between the 7 ngong hills. Carry water and put on gripping shoes since the grass is a bit slippery. Put on clothes that cover the whole body due to the presence of tsetse flies and scorching sun.
Google Review for Ngong Hills Visiting Ngong Hillswas an absolutely refreshing and memorable experience! This destination is perfect for anyone who loves nature, scenic views, and outdoor activities. The views are simply breathtaking rolling green hills stretching as far as the eye can see, with panoramic sights of the Great Rift Valley on one side and Nairobi city skyline on the other. If you enjoy photography, this place is a dream! The hiking trail is well-marked and offers a mix of gentle slopes and challenging climbs, making it suitable for both beginners and seasoned hikers. The cool breeze and fresh air make the hike enjoyable, and there are plenty of spots to take breaks and soak in the beauty. Security has improved, with guards along the trail, but I would still recommend going in a group for safety and extra fun. There are also wind turbines along the way, which add a unique touch to the landscape. A few tips: * Carry water and some snacks, as there are no shops along the trail. * Wear comfortable shoes and carry a light jacket—it can get windy and chilly at the top. * Go early in the morning to enjoy the sunrise and avoid the midday sun. The only downside is that there are limited facilities like washrooms and seating areas, but the natural beauty more than makes up for it. Overall, Ngong Hills is a must-visit for nature lovers, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a peaceful escape close to Nairobi.
Ngong Hills 🚌offers one of the most rewarding hiking experiences just outside Nairobi. 🧗The trail winds through rolling hills lined with wind turbines, offering a stunning blend of natural beauty and modern energy innovation. The panoramic views stretch as far as the Rift Valley on one side and Nairobi’s skyline on the other — a breathtaking reminder of Kenya’s diverse landscape.🌍 The hike itself is moderately challenging but incredibly fulfilling, especially with the cool breeze and the company of fellow adventurers. Having a few First Aid supplies & adequate water always comes in handy ⛑️🦺🧰Along the way, you’ll find plenty of photo-worthy spots and resting points where you can simply take in the serenity.📸🖼️ Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast, a nature lover, or just looking for a peaceful weekend getaway, Ngong Hills is the perfect destination.💯
Great place to catch a breath and relax.Family friendly as well whether you want to exercise or take a breather from the craze of the city
A beautiful place to spend your time with friends and family... The hiking is refreshing and re-energizing... Problem is if you car has less clearance.. Climbing up the hill might be a challenge. They should do proper road for people to access the top of the hills.. They can't be charging 250 ksh per person then have a poor infructures. There are officers checking the ETR receipt at the main gate and up at Transformer side. Generally it is a good place and purely lovely. I highly recommend if you wanna get out of town and go relax... It is a good place.

I absolutely loved this mall. Staying in the Trademark Hotel, I was literally able to walk from the hotel and into the mall, and the mall has EVERYTHING a person could need to purchase. Great shops, great restaurants as well as entertainment venues.
This beautiful area boasts a charming old side that contrasts with the modern side, yet they coexist harmoniously. It’s a family-friendly destination with ample open spaces for children to play, a bowling alley, and numerous restaurants. Your visit to the Village Market will undoubtedly be a positive experience.
Nice concept with the plants and colourful decoration. This is a medium to big mall with many shops. Banks, 3 telecom companies, clothing stores, African craft stores and more. There are also many places to choose amongst to eat. There is also a bowling alley but no cinema.
Village Market Nairobi is one of the best lifestyle destinations in the city. The mall has a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options — from international brands to unique local stores. The food court and dining areas are excellent, with something for every taste, and the environment feels safe, clean, and family-friendly. I especially like the open, airy layout which makes it stand out compared to other malls. Parking is convenient and well organized, and staff are always helpful. Whether for shopping, dining, or just relaxing, Village Market never disappoints.
Get immersed into the amazing world of gaming, culinary delights, and art shows. There's bowling, miniature golf, trampoline, and virtual gaming. I had a blast 🎉😎
Village Market is a wonderful place to spend time, whether you’re shopping, dining, or just relaxing. The atmosphere is vibrant and welcoming, with a great mix of shops, cafes, and restaurants to explore. The outdoor design makes it feel lively yet comfortable, and there’s always something interesting happening. It’s clean, safe, and very family-friendly, with plenty of options for all ages. A great spot to visit in Nairobi!
Please, please, please consider removing that useless height bar that is located right in the middle of the open air parking lot. The bar should only regarde cars going to the upper parking lot! Because of that bar I must do a huge detour whenever I'm coming from Gigiri to Rosslyn or the other way around. I go to Village Market at least 3 times a week and I have a car 2,30mts high. It's so frustrating! I beg you to please consider removing it! Photos are attached to my review.

Very good spot for doing timed runs, the cobbled path of approximately 1km is well defined for lap times. The environment is quiet and chill despite being towards the city centre. Has spacious fields for other exercises or even picnics.
Excellent natural space. Very well maintained. Very fresh and clean air. So many different routes. One can come here multiple times and still take their due time to figure out the geography. You might find a new path every time you visit. So many tall trees. Also a good place to go jogging or running! For foreigners, the entry is a little expensive - 716 KSH. But it's worth it if you like nature. In today's world, where everyone has mobile - I found it absurd for them to charge money if you have a bigger camera. The camera entry cost was 1322 KSH, so I asked them to store it till the time I came back. The park official was very kind and he waited for me to come back to return my camera even though his shift has finished quite some time ago. Amazing place.
Lovely garden. A place of peace in the city. Lovely trees and grassy areas. Sit, picnic, play, run or walk. Do it all
A cool place to spend time. For a minute, you'll forget you're within the chaotic city. Just ensure you carry no plastics when visiting the place
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Peaceful Escape in the Heart of Nairobi! 🌳🦋 The Nairobi Arboretum is a hidden gem right in the city. It’s perfect for nature walks, jogs, picnics, or just escaping the noise for a while. The air is fresh, the trees are towering, and there’s a beautiful mix of birds and monkeys if you’re lucky! 🐒🌿 It’s clean, well-maintained, and very affordable to access. There’s also a nice sense of safety with guards around, though it’s always good to go in a group, especially during quiet hours. Perfect for photoshoots 📸, morning workouts 💪, or weekend chill time with friends and family. Just carry your water, a mat, and your chill vibes. Highly recommend it!
It's a nice place to walk, run, picnic and relax. Note: -One use plastic is not allowed so carry water in a proper water bottle. -Depending on when you go, you can have long lines at the entrance especially on weekends in the afternoon. Aim for mornings. -The entrance fee went up recently 😑 When you want to exit, you can go back to the main exit or use a back exit leading to Westlands/Kilimani area.
Great space for picnics, nature walks, run, photography, team building. They also have a garden for events. There is a river also that flows through. Its spacious so you can always find your own spot that's not crowded.

I went there purposely for the Jacaranda trees 😁 Around the trains it was quite busy on a Sunday. I’m still planning 1-2 more visits to at least pop into each train…climb to the top of them. It’s a cool place to just hang out for 2-4hrs. Carry some drinks (and snacks).
Had a lovely experience learning about the evolution of Kenya rail system. The exhibit of the trains is a paradise for picture lovers. You can even enter some of the trains and have a feel. Cost 650ksh for non residents.
We visited in late October and caught the last purple flowers on the row of mature jacaranda trees that line the road to the station. It was a fabulous sight and we took our time ambling down this road and photographing the street art and the jacaranda trees. The railway museum is informative and fun to visit.
A fascinating place rich in history and a wonderful stop for anyone interested in Kenya’s railway heritage. The exhibits are well maintained, and exploring the old locomotives gives you a real sense of how transport has evolved over the years. The compound is calm and scenic, especially with the beautiful jacaranda trees in full bloom, they add a stunning touch to the whole experience. One thing to note is that they don’t accept card payments, only M-Pesa, which can be inconvenient, especially for foreign visitors who may not use local mobile money. It’s good to plan ahead. Overall, a memorable and worthwhile visit.
The Kenya Railway Museum in Nairobi is like stepping into a time machine… but with more steam and fewer DeLoreans. Tucked in the heart of the city near Nairobi’s CBD, this museum showcases the glory days of Kenya’s railway system, from old steam engines to vintage carriages. It’s a treat for history buffs, train enthusiasts, and anyone who secretly dreams of shouting “All aboard!” The exhibits are well-maintained, with a fascinating collection of locomotives, railway memorabilia, and informative displays about the Kenya-Uganda railway line. Kids will love climbing into old carriages, while adults will enjoy snapping photos that make their Instagram followers think they just time-traveled. The museum is very walkable, has decent parking, and is safe for families. Nearby, you can grab a bite at local eateries or explore Nairobi’s CBD after your railway adventure. A perfect spot to blend history, photography, and a little nostalgia for the golden age of rail travel in Kenya.

The museum’s atmosphere is nostalgic and authentic, with the background hum of nearby train activity.
The payment process was inefficient and discrinatory to people who don't transact with mobile money. They could improve on this by having alternative options such a debit/credit card and cash, especially for tourists and Kenyans who don't use mobile money.

Indoor mall with stores for clothing, cosmetics & electronics, plus a supermarket & a food court.

Its among the oldest malls in Nairobi, however, it's well maintained and neat. Yaya Centre provides an array of services from a retail supermarket chain; fast food restaurants; fashion and accessories shops; electronics and technology shops; banking and services; a movie theatre; outdoor recreation centre.
First off, it's an indoor mall, which is already a win, especially on a sunny (or rainy!) Nairobi day. And the sheer variety of stores they have is fantastic! I spent ages Browse through all the clothing shops, looking at the latest fashion. Then I hopped over to check out the cosmetics – so many amazing brands to choose from. And if you're into gadgets, they've got some great electronics stores too. The best part? They have a fantastic supermarket! It was so convenient to grab all my groceries after I was done with my retail therapy. And when hunger struck, the food court was a lifesaver. There were so many delicious options, it was hard to pick just one! I also love how convenient their hours are. They're open from 8 AM to 9 PM Monday through Saturday, which means I can always squeeze in a visit. On Sundays, they're open from 9 AM to 6 PM, perfect for a relaxed weekend browse. Seriously, Yaya Centre is more than just a mall; it's a whole experience. It's clean, well-organized, and has everything you could possibly need under one roof. I left feeling happy, refreshed, and with some amazing new finds! You totally have to go!
I really enjoy this mall, despite its confusing layout and alleyways initially. Once you get the hang of it, the experience becomes quite enjoyable. I especially appreciate the variety of restaurants, which serve excellent food, and the friendly staff always make the visit more pleasant. Overall, it’s a classic spot that I’ll definitely return to.
Yaya Centre in Nairobi is a well-established shopping and lifestyle hub, offering a mix of convenience, variety, and a touch of Nairobi’s cosmopolitan culture. It’s not the largest mall in the city, but it has carved out a reputation as a reliable and vibrant destination for both locals and visitors.
The Masai Market was 'the' big attraction for me. The mall itself has a variety of international stores
As someone from Davis Design Group i really appreciate when a place combines good aesthetics with great service it’s inspiring to see spaces that are so thoughtfully designed. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending this spot to friends, clients and collaborators. Keep up the excellent work! 👏
Yaya Centre remains a timeless gem in Nairobi’s shopping scene. From fashion boutiques to cozy cafés, it’s a well-curated space that blends convenience with style. The layout is intuitive, security is visible but unobtrusive, and the ambiance feels upscale without being intimidating. Highlight: The mix of local and international brands makes it perfect for both errands and indulgence. Tip: Weekday mornings are ideal for a relaxed shopping experience.
You will get all that you need here with a big variety of stores that you can shop from and restaurants to eat. All major Banks also have branches there and there is also a forex available.

Perfect way to spend the weekend, it’s an awesome place to go either with friends or, solo, family and kids. A good 3 hours going round the museum and learning about Kenya’s history. You can get a guide to lead you on or you can explore on your own. 😉❤️ have fun
Located within the museum campus, this snake park has a good collection of reptiles, snakes and turtles that are common in the country. If you speak to the caretaker, you can also hold one of the baby pythons while he explains the conservation efforts to save them.
We had a good time, the guys there allowed us to handle some of the snakes, most snakes are like average size, didn’t see any like huge ones. If you aren’t a citizen it’s gone be hectic to pay a little bit, tip; get a citizen to pay for you
We paid for the joint museum and snake park tickets. There are many snakes, fish, a couple of very still crocodiles and an alligator, turtles, chameleons, bunnies and tortoises. The tanks/enclosures seem small and many had fake plants which felt sad. It seems like the place is in need of a refresh! We had a friendly guide show us round (make sure to tip) but I would say it's not necessary; they don't add much more information than the signs and they speed through.
Educational & Fun Visit at Nairobi Snake Park Had a very interesting time at the Nairobi Snake Park. The exhibits are informative, the keepers are knowledgeable, and the environment is clean and well-kept. Great spot for families and anyone curious about snakes and reptiles.
Generally a good experience. This part of the national museum has its own separate ticket. You get to see a lot of snakes. If you visit the national museum don't forget to visit this interesting part.
Generally exciting experience. Chance to connect with nature. Would recommend a bit larger aquarium
Loved the experience, guide can be free - they allow you to touch a snake. I didn’t liked the fact that snake was kept secluded in a box. There were few reptiles roaming around in the courtyard. If you have likeness for snakes, this place is for you. If you find them creepy- do visit as an escape room experiences. Show stopper - Black Mamba 30 minutes death if they attack

The Nairobi Animal Orphanage is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Kenya’s wildlife up close. Located right next to Nairobi National Park, it’s home to rescued and rehabilitated animals including lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, monkeys, and a variety of birds. What makes it stand out is how close you can get to the animals while learning their stories and the conservation efforts behind them. The moment I walked in, I could hear the calls of different birds and the distant roar of a lion — it immediately felt like I had stepped into a sanctuary full of life. I also remember standing quietly by the lion enclosure when they were being fed. It’s spine-chilling. The orphanage is well-kept, affordable, and easy to access, making it perfect for tourists, families, and school groups alike. It’s not just about seeing animals — it’s about understanding the importance of protecting them. A short visit leaves you with both unforgettable sights and a deeper appreciation for Kenya’s conservation work. If you ever find yourself in Nairobi, take a couple of hours to visit the Animal Orphanage. It’s more than just a stop - it’s an experience that stays with you!
If you’re looking for a unique wildlife experience in Nairobi, the Nairobi Animal Orphanage is a great place to visit. Bring one or a phone with good zoom for better animal shots 💵Entrance fees indicated in one of the photos.
Rescued animals being taken care of here. Amazing place. Please note that around 2.30 Mr Gerald will be feeding the animals. Gerald is a nice guy whose taken care of most of the big cats since they were cubs from about 20 years ago. Get to know him and watch him feed, it's the best part. Thank me later. Cheers
It was a lovely time to connect with nature and the family...the kids absolutely enjoyed the visit and we look forward to go again soon
If you go for a game drive in Nairobi National Park, make sure to stop by the animal orphanage! You will see more animals inside; they are usually kept there when they need more care than they can receive in the park itself.
Good place to see many animals in a small space; by the same token their habitat should be larger and more natural.
Good experience if you love baby elephants. You will hear about the history behind the orphanage and its impact.
I visited the Nairobi Animal Orphanage after booking with Bagheera Tours & Safaris Ltd, and it was one of the highlights of my trip. The orphanage is beautifully run and full of rescued animals receiving real care and rehabilitation. Seeing lions, cheetahs, monkeys and others up close - each with their own rescue story - was emotional and inspiring. The staff are knowledgeable and passionate about conservation, which makes the visit even more meaningful. Highly recommended for families, tourists and wildlife lovers.
