I always enjoy visiting the St Augustine Ripley’s location. The staff is always very nice and helpful and the museum is so fun and clean! Every time i go i swear there’s something new i haven’t seen. My son has a physical disability called Cerebral Palsy that makes balancing and standing in the waves incredibly difficult for him-- but surfing is also an amazing form of physical therapy for his body. Christian worked with my son in a special way that helped him build his confidence and feel successful even though surfing is much more challenging for him than for other kids. Christian often rode with him or swam behind and held the back of the board to make it more stable for him to stand up. With Christian's help and a lot of practice, by the end of the week, he was able to stand up and take waves independently (with a little push from behind of course). It was the most fantastic feeling to watch as a parent--and it would not have been possible without Christian's patience and guidance. Not only is Christian incredibly knowledgeable about the technical concepts of surfing (and super talented as a surfer himself)-- but he also brings an uncommon level of kindness and patience to teaching kids that takes his surf instruction to the next level. He is a naturally gifted teacher and shares his deep love of surfing with the kids in a way that allows them to have a ton of fun all while learning and improving their skills at the same time. We will be calling Christian for more lessons on future visits to St. Augustine. I highly, highly recommend him for any level of surf instruction-- he's fantastic!
