Did not like this place. There was no atmosphere to speak of when we visited. Staff were nice but the place looked empty and abandoned on a Wednesday - maybe there’s more to it during holidays and weekends. It’s a massive building and only had 2-3 patrons sitting at tables inside.
The pastries are not nice. They don’t look nice and don’t taste nice and are so sweet that you never want to buy them again. The amount of sugar they use in their recipes is insane - definitely not something recommended for children.
They advertise coffee but only have a small black coffee station.
We won’t be returning.

What a delightful happenstance when we ended up here because the other bakery we were planning to go to was closed on Tuesdays! So glad we found this one instead! My three young adult sons and I visited Solvang and Mortenson’s in September on an overnight trip from LA to Big Sur (on vacation from Florida) and were warmly greeted by the owner’s daughter who was happy to chat a bit as we were there during a quieter season. We chose several danishes and a bucket of butter cookies, and they were SO FRESH and DELICIOUS! The only sad thing about our visit is that it is SO FAR from Florida, and their cookies are not available for shipping! 😩 I’ll never be able to eat a danish butter cookie from a metal can again! These are THAT GOOD! She also gave us a few little bags as a treat for our travels, so very sweet! I could have stayed to talk all day! 😊

I am leaving this review in the hopes that someone from the bakery will reach out to me. I was there on 10/18/2025 and bought a bunch of lovely pastries, and a few drinks. They were absolutely delicious - everyone enjoyed them. And I thought the price was very reasonable, about $35 for everything.
However, when I checked my bank account, I was charged $108! I tried calling the bakery on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesay, but received no answer. I emailed them using their online email document and no answer.

I recently visited this charming Danish bakery and tried a few of their offerings: pistachio square, cream cheese danish, cinnamon roll, and Sarah Bernhardt cookie. This a such a wonderful free museum filled with the history of the town. I absolutely love it and hate that I didn’t have more time to take it all in… You can make a donation!
The hours are Thurs-Mon 11am-5pm. They have gifts, souvenirs, books and jewelry. The large gallery is filled with modern art. There is a room with video where people discuss the history of town. I didn’t have time to watch but recommend because the history is very interesting. We learned that only 10% of town are Dutch descendants and the store front Dutch theme started in 1940’s.
The garden is simply beautiful and has outdoor seating. I highly recommend visiting this museum!!!

Elverhøj Museum and Art is a small hidden museum gem in the heart of Solvang. In Danish it means Elve’s Hill. With community support, the Museum documents the history of Solvang. Visitors can spend ~30 mins to see the entire museum.

We were recommended Paula's as a fan favorite for breakfast in downtown Solvang, so naturally we had to try it out. Clearly you could tell it was the spot to be because by the time we left, all indoor and patio seats on a chilly day were filled. They're known for their pancakes (obviously) - short stack were as expected (light, fluffy) and the Dutch thin pancakes were thin, but even bigger than the stack (so don't worry, you will have plenty of food). The half portion of bacon was two pieces that were good, but thinner than expected. Only recommendation - do not get a muffin (could be my mistake for even ordering that). It tasted odd/off - almost soapy or just fake banana flavor in the banana nut muffin. Hard to describe, but yeah, do not recommend. Otherwise, fast diner-style service. They work hard to get you fed and out the door.

My first time here and the wait time was worth it! I'm not sure how busy the restaurant is on a regular basis but I spent Labor Day weekend in Solvang and Paula's Pancake House was crowded!
Do not let that deter you..Breakfast or lunch at Paula's is a must.
The restaurant has an at home, comfortable atmosphere. It's clean, and very welcoming. You can also opt to be seated in their patio as well.
I ordered their Danish Pancake Breakfast Combo; Eggs, Danish Sausage and a thin Danish Pancake topped off with fresh Strawberries. The portion served is very generous. It's filling, flavorful, the strawberries were fresh, the Danish sausage
and pancake were delicious.
Our waitress was nothing short from amazing!! She was friendly and she did not miss a beat. We had absolutely no hiccups with our orders or drinks. She really made our experience at Paula's feel like we were visiting family.

While visiting Santa Barbara, we used one morning to visit Solvang. We decided to go up early on a Monday and have breakfast. Several social media videos recommended the Dutch pancakes at Paula’s. So I hoped for a short wait as I knew the hubby would not wait long. We arrived around 9. It was July. We didn’t wait at all but by the time we left there was definitely a wait. The place was busy but the service was quick and friendly. We ordered the Dutch pancakes plain. And my husband got the Dutch breakfast and I got the omelette. Very flavorful. The sausage was way too big for my hubby to finish. My omelette was a perfect size. It came with hash browns which were just right. The pancakes were very sweet. It had powdered sugar. You can add syrup but we ate them without and they were sweet and yummy.

I ordered the Solang Danish-Style Sausage and Eggs (Medisterpolse). It comes with sausage, eggs, hash browns, and toast. The sausage is a good, mellow flavor. The eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly. Loved the toast with orange marmalade! The coffee was good as well, smooth tasting.

We asked for a table for 4 and waited nearly an hour to get seated. The sausages were cold, dry, and overcooked. The sandwich had terrible thawed shrimp in it, even the side of mash potato was better than the main entrée. Insane pricing for bland food.
Staff constantly ignored us when we asked how much longer should we wait for a table while half the dining space was empty. People seated after us eating hot dishes got their orders before we did. Wait staff also took my plates and utensils away before I finished eating. They don't listen and seem inexperienced.

To be honest don't waste your money here. It was around $27 per person for 4 meatballs and instant mashed potatoes. The meat balls had no flavor what so ever and they were not fully mixed so ended up pretty much falling apart and the gravy was definitely from a package. Service was subpar as well with flat sodas and no one bringing the check until we gave up and went to the front. If you're looking for "authentic" swedish food you're better off going to IKEA were at least their instant mash actually taste semi decent.

WOWWW! I have gotten danishes at several of these places around here when I'm in town, and today I tried this place and it is hands down the best danishes. The key is to go first thing in the morning (we went around 7:30 am) when they're fresh out of the oven. And make sure to ask which ones are fresh out of the oven. You will not regret it. We went with the Seasonal Three Course with Local Wine Pairing and tried the Roast Cauliflower, Tuna Crudo, Ricotta Cavatelli, Filet of Beef, Chocolate & Honey, and Passionfruit Cheesecake.

I came here with my mother when she was in town to celebrate, and it was probably one of the fanciest restaurants either of us had been to. Add this to your itinerary and you will not regret it!! The guy there was soo knowledgeable, he was very refreshing to learn from and you could tell he’s passionate about what he does. Even you’ve visited before, it is worth going again because they rotate the bikes on display. Almost every bike is accompanied with a short paragraph, and the accompanying artwork and decoration all around the store is fun to look at. He’s very clear and encouraging about taking as many pictures as we want, but no touching (obviously). It’s very nice to be able to walk around, appreciate every detail and not feel rushed.

The children’s section is a blessing where you can find books by type. Which as a mom with two kids with vastly different age ranges for books find what I need without spending all day is wonderful! I love how the staff have recommendation cards around the store and thanks to one of them I found a book that sounds like it's just my type. When we knew we were coming to Solvang, we researched the many places to stay and we decided that the Atterdag was the place for us. The owners were very good at communicating and the contactless entry was perfect because it allowed us to arrive at whatever time worked for us. We were in room #7 which was simply darling! There were so many surfaces to place our belongings on that we couldn’t believe it; there was a picnic style table with long benches on either side as well as benches at the foot of each bed as well as a good size dresser. The location could not possibly have been better, close to everything and within walking distance as well. Parking…amazing convenient free parking behind the Atterdag. The little outdoor patio on the ground floor was really sweet and the red doors made the place pop! We have no idea if the TV worked or if it was any good because we don’t do TV on vacation; it always seemed sinful to us to not cut off watching TV. Reading books is a great thing we do on vacation! There was no noticeable or distressing noises from outside of our room at night but we also weren’t there on a weekend. The only criticism we have is that blackout curtains of some sort would’ve been really useful. The window on the entry side had a lot of light coming in at night around the shades from the exterior lighting; the windows on the outside wall had sunshine light streaming in very early in the morning which was not conducive to sleeping in. We actually went to Rite Aid and bought eye masks to put on so that we wouldn’t stay awake or get woken up by the bright lights. However, that was the only criticism we have and we would absolutely stay there again and again. We LOVED our stay so kudos all around!

My wife and I enjoyed staying at the quaint Atterdag Inn, which has 8 rooms. It is in a central location, with all of the Solvang sites just steps away. Our room, #8, was large, clean, and quiet. Each room is different, so there are many options for layouts and beds. There is parking on site, to the west of the hotel rooms. We had no issue getting a spot. If you have a very large vehicle parking could be tight, though we had rented a full sized Jeep and were just fine.
There is a nice central courtyard with chairs for lounging around. There is no office, but you can text if there are any issues. We had no issues.
Room 1 is on Atterdag Rd., so you might prefer to avoid that room if you are concerned about privacy. Rooms 3 and 4 have doors that open onto the parking lot.
Atterdag is a great value, and we would definitely stay here again.

This was a really beautiful winery with a nice patio area and beautiful buildings surrounding it. We got there right at 11 AM when it opened, and this was the start of their Sunday events where they have live music. By 1 PM, it was pretty packed and very happening. I visited Sunstone on Sunday August 24th 2025. With my Sister, her husband and their son, my nephew.
We were celebrating my Mothers Birthday 🎉 and also celebrating her life.
My Mother was a huge fan of Sunstone and had lived in the valley for a long period of her life.
So it was a perfect way for us to have the closure and celebrate her at this beautiful location, that she loved so much.

What an awesome Winery to visit. They have Vineyards, gathering area for groups at tables, live music, great selection of wines to choose from. The open seating area was fantastic to enjoy a delicious beverage of choice, relax and enjoy. We took a a tour of the winery itself and it's very fascinating, we saw the machines that press to grapes and were educated on the different types of grapes and how weather plays a factor on the finished grape and thats why some years are better than other years with the same grapes. This helped us choose the best bottle of wine based on our tastings.🍷
We had 4 bottles shipped back to Indiana and we opened a Merlot for dinner the other evening and it took us back to California.

We didn't know what to expect as far as quality of wines in this area but were pleasantly surprised by the calibar of wines poured. Spending a few days in Santa Ynez Wine Country we, of course, wanted to visit at least one winery and luckily we decided on Roblar Winery. We were there mid-week in late summer and parking was easy. Not only is Roblar a vineyard but they also have a beautiful vegetable garden on the grounds and on the way into the main building there is a small covered farm stand where you can purchase their freshly picked vegetables and pay on the honor system.
We made reservations for 1:00p lunch and were seated outside within a few minutes. It was a beautiful day and they have a gorgeous comfortable outdoor eating area surrounded by the gardens and vineyard. Our waiter was very attentive and helpful in helping us choose some wines to taste and food items for lunch. For our meal we started with the Marinated Olives, which were varied and tasty. I ordered the Garlic Hummus which was excellent, served with warm house-made pita bread and a beautiful variety of fresh vegetables. My friend had the Roblar Panzanella salad which she adored and has been trying to recreate it since we’ve been home. We also ordered three wines to sample and ended up taking home a few bottles of the rose, which was light and perfect for the late summer afternoon meal.

I had a chance to blind taste their Bouche with some of the known growers including Bordeaux 3rd growth, and Brander’s bouche came in the first place. Fruit forward red with fine tannins, it was pleasure drinking it even young and it evolves in the glass. I know they are known for their whites but you gotta try their reds. Seriously made. Love this winery on the way to Santa Barbara. They have a really nice back patio and you sit amongst the grape vines. Perfect to hang out in the afternoon and enjoy some really good wine. Great service also. Prices are really good especially for the pretzel and almonds must try with the wine.
They also have a great selection of chocolates you can order inside and have it delivered to your table.

Gorgeous winery, very comfortable place to enjoy a glass of local santa Ynez wine. Dog friendly place, its not a big winery but it's big on hospitality, the service was great, fast and knowledgeable server. Not a big parking area so I suggest you make a reservation here if your coming on the weekends.

Vincent's winery was recommended to us by another winery and we were offered by one tasting get one free so I said why not? The staff was great! The winery in it's self was kinda boring and the wines one step above that. It's the kinda of place you go to once, say not bad but never go back to! Although they served probably one of the best chocolates I have tried in America !
