The hostel has a good little kitchen in the common space (a must for any hostel) and lovely art everywhere. The location is great and the WIFI was really good aswell.. The hostel certainly wasn't at full capacity whilst I was there, which was a shame but it also made it a little easy to relax and socialise easier. Would 100% recommend Minka if staying in Quito.

This was my first time in South America and I could not have picked a better hostel for my first experience. No question. Casa Urbana is a quiet and wonderful gem in Quito, in walking distance of the entire city! My wife and I loved our time spent here! Full disclosure: Casa Urbana was the first hostel I stayed in. We stayed here twice, making this our home base while in Ecuador. We stayed in the private room. The beds were clean and comfortable, great for a nap or a reading a book. It’s easy to miss this place from the street, we accidentally walked to the hostel next door, but this place is a "Can’t Miss” when you’re inside. The lobby has comfortable sofas, a fire place, and plenty of reading material - not to mention the nicest staff you’ll ever meet. Breakfast was amazing! Great food and wonderful conversations with the other guest. Very much like being at home. The owner, Caralina, was a legend of a host! She helped us organize trips, figure out the easiest ways to get around and made us feel at home. As an amercan who spoke pretty much zero Spanish it was nice to have a host who was from the area and that could communicate with use flawlessly! This is not a party hostel and most of the guest tended to be in their late twenties or thirties. Everyone was laid back and low-key. If I go back to Quito, I’m staying here again. No question.

We stayed here for 10 nights during our stay, in Ecuador. This was not initially planned, as we were trying to book a last minute cruise to the Galapagos. Carolina worked with us as we extended our initial stay several times. When we finally headed to the Galapagos, I realized I had left by daypack with several important items in the hostel lounge area. I was freaking out in the airport, but we sent a message to Carolina through WhatsApp and she quickly replied and found my bag and stored it in a safe place until we returned to Quito.
