We started with oysters and honestly they were the best oysters I have ever had, and I’ve had a few! Inside, the atmosphere was warm and elegant with soft lighting from chandeliers creating such a relaxed and special feel. The staff were brilliant. So kind and attentive, constantly checking in to see if we needed anything, topping up waters and even lowering the blinds when the sun was a bit strong. Service was flawless and made the whole experience even better. It’s easy to access and there are plenty of tables, though it does get busier later in the evening. You can also get a ferry straight from the restaurant to Hastings Street which is such a fun touch, although we missed the last one when we left around 6.30pm. We stayed at this hostel for a couple of days and the bar is my favorite thing about this place by a country mile. They have 2 happy hours! The pool table is free and there are lots of other young people around to make friends with, this is normally the hardest thing about staying in a Hostel sometimes is finding similar people that you vibe with, but we had no issues here whatsoever, everyone was very cool and friendly. The hostel was mostly women too which made me feel very safe. We are traveling as a couple, but especially if you are traveling on your own, I think this place is perfect for single people looking to make friends to travel with. The staff were absolutely wonderful, and the security were very friendly, which is rare to find in some places. Our favorite barman of the day was Joe, he was very friendly and kind and even introduced us to a couple of other people that he thought we would get on well with, and he was right. The staff here really give the place a nice personal touch that makes you feel like you are just hanging out with your friends. Thanks to all the staff, we will be back again for sure.
