A small locally owned sushi restaurant filled with many menu options including sushi, Chinese and Japanese entrees. My family used to bring me here when I was younger and now I bring mine in. I went in but I didn't stay because there was a really long line of people waiting to be sat down.... and I got a chance to peak on the menu I honesty didnt like what I saw mainly because I'm not a seafood eater and I didn't think I would like it. Cedar Rapids— deserves 10 stars, we stopped on a Monday, they were so nice. Service was fantastic, aesthetically welcoming, CLEAN, the food was delicious. We tried the crab Rangoons they were delicious. Price point was reasonable, large enough quantity that we had leftovers! Our server was amazing, our pop never ran dry. A cozy Chinese restaurant on the northeast side of cedar rapids. The restaurant is part of a strip.mall with a couple.of other restaurants. Went for a quick lunch with my wife, son and granddaughters. Seemed like they only had one waitress and she was helping a lot of others so it took a few minutes before she got to our table to get the order but we weren't in a big hurry so no problem. The restaurant was clean and tbe staff was friendly. Got our food and everyone enjoyed their meal. Go to the counter to pay and they have a tap credit card system with 4 or 5 preset tip options as well as a custom tip so payment only took a couple of seconds. We would certainly come back when we are back on that side of town again.

Hadn't eaten there since the pandemic but stopped for lunch today after church and it was just as I remembered it. Service was good, and we were in and out in less than an hour. CROOKS!! Ordered Hot brasied shrimp without the breading and added fried rice ( up charge of $10 for both.) Total cost of entree was about $30. When I received the order they had given me unbreaded chicken instead of the shrimp. I called and spoke with the gentleman at the front desk and told him we’d be in for the correct entree. We arrived a few minutes before they closed. When my husband took the food back in to have it replaced the owner/manager told him the kitchen was CLOSED!! He proceeded to tell my husband to contact door dash because it was their fault for not checking the food before they took it. What?!!! So Door Dash is supposed to open each container of food to verify it’s correct??!! That is wrong!!!
Red Lantern served me a $15 entree after I paid $30 for a different entree. Took my money and blamed it on Door Dash. They had a chance to make it right and CHOSE not to even with the receipt.
I will never do business with Red Lantern again and I do not recommend them to anyone.
I have been going to Red Lantern for the past 16 years. This was the last.

As usual, this HuHot is just as good as the others that we've been to. I like the fact that they may have different layouts of the restaurants; they maintain the quality of the food. It's not easy offering a buffet style restaurant in these times. HuHot not only does but does it well. You decide on what you want and it's prepared for you. Excellent food at HuHot! Mongolian grills are one of my absolute favorites, and this one didn’t disappoint. If you’ve never been, the concept is simple but fun—you grab a bowl and load it up with meats, noodles, veggies, and sauces from the buffet (as much as you can fit), then watch as they cook it right in front of you on a huge grill. It’s similar to hibachi, but with less of a show and more focus on the food.

Typical HuHot. Mindy was very awesome and it was apparent that she didn’t have much help. Such are the times. But even with that she was efficient and pleasant.
The only downsides were yea there was a lot of fiber in the food. I think it was from preparation brushes and not human hair but looked unappetizing.
The bathroom was very filthy and had gross looking stains on the wall.

A fine example of subpar Chinese-American food. What is intriguing is a place called "Eggroll House" serving these hybrid spring roll concoctions and passing them off as eggrolls. The lo mein makes me wish I'd just taken a Remington haircut instead it would have been more satisfying and likely cheaper. They are always very helpful when you have questions, fast, and efficient about getting food out. The staff is super nice and the food came out quick. I looked at the reviews of this place before we came and everyone seemed to really like it so we thought we would give it a try. I ordered egg drop soup, fried dumplings and orange flavored beef. The soup was scalding hot and I burned my tongue and roof of my mouth. This is one of the few Chinese buffets left in the area thanks to ridiculous mandates. I like the buffet. The restaurant seems nice and clean. Service is good and I got refills promptly. I was waiting for my car to be ready for pickup at a friend’s mechanic shop and I walked into SuYu Pei on 16th Ave SW for lunch at 1:15 today (Thursday) and was greeted immediately and told I could sit wherever I’d like. I even found out that we knew a lot of the same people and we talked and laughed about that fact for a few minutes.
After he brought me a box for the rest of my food, I told him my car was getting worked on at a shop nearby so I might sit a while longer if that was ok, and he looked concerned and told me the area wasn’t super great for walking and asked me if I needed a ride back to the shop! Absolutely incredible value. I started going to Kirkwood Community College about 10 years ago, when I first discovered this place. As a college student, I needed cheap food that would fill me up. Have had takeout several times now. Consistently excellent food, candidate for the best Chinese in town. Good prices, good serving size, good variety. Many fresh ingredients and super friendly staff.
Hopefully they can add their own delivery soon. I refuse to use door dash et al. thankfully it's just a 5 minute drive from home and absolutely worth it.
As of Feb 2024 there is no regular dine-in, but I doubt they would mind if you sat down to eat as they keep clean tables and chairs set up.

Okay so we don't get food often but went out on a whim because I am struggling from my health as many of you know.
We got Yen Ching they're a little cute family business off mt Vernon Rd.
I am a frequent visitor for their dumplings and Tucker loves their spring rolls (both in the portraits). We went in to pay for our family meal and she inquired about my health.
Then she tells me to go wait in my van so she can bring it out and says please go and heal since I had mentioned my surgery.
I already knew they were my favorite place in the entire world but this just solidified it and they are in a strip mall that has gotten smaller and smaller over time.
