This page was next to my hotel. The first night I had the most awesome soup, chicken wings, and sushi roll. The sushi didn't have much flair and I had to ask for chopsticks and soy sauce she never gave me so I had to take from another table. The second night was horrible I had the grilled salmon and i specifically asked for light sauce which definitely wasn't salmon and it came out covered in sauce and it was ice cold. It took forever for waiter to come back but he took it to the back and I guess they washed the fish off and microwaved the plate because the broccoli was way overcooked and brown and the fish was hard as a rock....I won't return. When we arrived it was happy hour. The waitress told us to get drinks for the happy hour price, we'd need to order from the bar. Hayashi was an unexpected delight in Newport News! Kayla was a phenomenal bartender, her cocktails were tasty and refreshing after a long day. Compliments to the sushi chef, I had the toro sashimi app and the chef's choice sushi plate, and they were well presented and delectable! I usually enjoy coming to this hibachi spot and have been here several times for both lunch and dinner. The food and experience are good, but I noticed the prices have really gone up — not just for dinner, but now even for the lunch specials too.
Before, a shrimp dinner was around $23–$24, and the lunch special used to be $15–$17. Now the lunch shrimp is basically $20–$25, which is almost the same as the dinner price. I drive past this place daily. We FINALLY decided to try it out. I went after work around 7pm, and ordered our food to go cause my husband was still at work. We got Shrimp fried rice, chicken Lo mein, and peppered steak w/onions. Everything was good but the peppered steak was really flavorful! That sauce it was in was so good. AND they put cardboard at the bottom of the peppered steak, and the bottom of my to go bag, so if anything spilled that would absorb. No other food place has even done that 🤣 and I am super appreciative of them for that! Ordered 오징어 볶음 (squid stir fry). Nice, familiar flavor. Squid had a good texture, not overcooked. The vegetables still had a bit of crunch. Ban Chan assortment was delightful; some sour, some tart. I would've liked more cabbage kimchi.
The service was very cordial; people were very friendly. The restaurant was clean and orderly. I loved the whole ambiance.

I ordered tofu soup/beef soup and dumplings. The quality of food is good and the dishes were packed full of nice flavor.
The broth isn't perfect and seems more on the water and powder side, but it is just how it tasted, it is good, but not like hardcore true Korean food feel. But I still enjoyed it. We haven’t tried Korean food before and were pleasantly surprised. I can’t speak on the service really. I walked in to pickup my food and there were ladies in front of me taking forever to do a Togo order. Another waitress ended up grabbing my order for me. The appetizers (kimbap and fried mandu) were both great! I would definitely get them again. I got the beef bulgogi and that was amazing, the fried rice I got with it wasn’t really flavorful. I could’ve gotten the white rice and been just as happy with the meal. My husband got the chicken and broccoli teriyaki. It wasn’t bad, but I don’t think it was the best chicken and broccoli I’ve ever gotten. Overall the food was good, I would prefer this over any Chinese food. I've had hibachi and sushi in a lot of places. The sushi here was pretty good. Not amazing. But definitely good. The hibachi was a different story. The show was good. Very entertaining. Went here for a family dinner for the first time. The restaurant is in a quiet corner of a busy shopping center so a good end to a day of shopping. I met Jacob who is enthusiastic, local and knows the menu. Our Chef was Mr. Sung and his experience shows. This was a wonderful experience for my kids. My daughter asked to come to celebrate her 18th birthday. I was able to make reservations using Google Assistant which was convenient and nice. They were expecting us when we arrived but we did still have to wait for the rest of the party to come before we could be seated. Very limited menu, still operating like its covid, take out service with restaraunt prices. When I walk into a restaurant i want to be seated be served with real silverware and plates, not cancerous styrofoam. If I wanted takeout, I would have gone to a drive through. Customer service, non existent, food mediocre at best, hot in the restaraunt, bathroom had exposed wires dangling from light fixture. Had the beef bulgogi with rice and sesame salad and shrimp tempura. the beef bulgogi tasted like it was made with jar bulgogi sauce, rice good, salad was bagged and gross. Due to Covid, whether you dining in or out food gets placed in to go boxes. Water? you will be getting charged for bottled water but I think that’s fine. I was in the area for work and had a strong craving for Korean food. The food was good, but way too expensive for what you get. I was disappointed with the spicy rice cakes because most other places have fish cake, cabbage, onions (or at least some sort of other addition), but they charge $10 for just rice cakes and sauce which I think is steep.

I had the Dolsut Bibimbap with beef bulgogi and my wife had Bibimbap with spicy chicken... simply amazing! We also got the six chicken wing appetizer with the spicy garlic sauce on side and the wings were amazing.

The sushi is the freshest on the Peninsula! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Thaijindesu, and we will be back! The sushi was so fresh. I didn't realize the other sushi restaurants we frequent weren't as fresh until I had theirs. The only reason we hadn't been yet is because it's always so busy. We were late eating around 8 p.m., and the restaurant had plenty of patrons but a much smaller crowd with lots more seating options. It was the least favorite we have tried. It wasn't gross but not good, either. We won't order it again. The Big John's Roll was 🔥. It will be on the favorite list. The Philadelphia roll was on point in flavor and freshness as usual. The service was disappointing this time. The restaurant was full at 8:30, with many guests preparing to depart. We were seated and didn't have a server visit to take our drink order for 10 minutes. We ordered everything at once. The server did not check in on flavor but did keep our waters full. We did not have a bad experience but were a little disappointed with the overall friendliness and attention. I would still recommend and recognize that We were in later and maybe servers were busy with closing side work.

Decided to try a new restaurant tonight, and so glad we did! Every piece of food we had was delicious, the portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable. I went with a safe staple for my entree, and don’t think I’ve had pad thai this flavorful since I was in Portland! Personally my husband & my favorite Thai place in town! We tried Tida Thai, but it’s just not the same as it used to be. Also Tida’s price has gone up. So we decided to try Thaijindesu & we’re so happy we did! Everything did take a while to serve, but it’s really fresh, warm, & delicious. It was definitely worth the wait. I have a mild peanut allergy. When I called thier restaurant to confirm the Pad See Ew would not have peanuts as descriibed they stated it would not. But when I asked if they wash their dishes/utensils used to cook the food, they stated they do not have the time to clean their equipment. They suggested I take my business elsewhere as they are too busy to accomodate for a food allergy. I have been to "Langley Thai" and they were more than happy to wash their equipment for their customers. I highly suggest anyone with food allergies not trust the staff here as it seems they share equipment and are unwilling to clean a simple pan or use a new pot for a customer.
I was really excited to try their food as the ratings seem to be quite high, but I will not be taking my business here and suggest those with food allergies also find another Thai restauraunt (Suggest Langley Thai) that doesnt tell you "we don't have the time to ask the chef how they clean thier pans and suggest you don't order".
Sidenote, who loves to eat food at a place where your dishes and pots are shared amongst other guests??? It is a simple process to put a pot under hot water and rinse the spatula under a sink. You can't even do that? Quite dissapointing.

I took my family out to lunch here today. Everything was immaculate. The restaurant is clean, the decor is welcoming, all of the servers are incredibly attentive. All of the food was delicious. We ate off the Thai and Japanese sides of the menu, and just loved it. The spice levels are accurate, so many of the dishes let you pick your protein or keep it vegetarian if you'd like. The portions are generous, and I left feeling like I more than got my money's worth. We were in town for a show and needed a nicer dinner. This restaurant was an easy across-the-street from the campus/town's arts venue. Inside the lights were just the right amount of dim. Sound was maybe a little loud, but we also were near a large table of loud folks.
What I really appreciated is that our server checked to see if we were attending a show, in case we had a deadline to be done with dinner. That kind of professional empathy and awareness is rare these days.
Our food was absolutely delicious. My wife had the lamb korma. I had the chicken methi. We both had to make ourselves stop, and were sad that we couldn't take home the leftover sauce. The cheesy naan was a wonderful twist that I've not seen at other Indian restaurants. I wish that I could have tried their momo dumplings, too.

Absolutely wonderful meal with the best lamb korma you can find anywhere. Rich buttery sauce that was fantastically seasoned (I chose mild 1, but one more step up would be a good choice as well) and a generous portion of super tender lamb bits. The sauce with the chicken momo was also superb. Garlic naan perfectly prepared. Easily one of the top restaurants on the peninsula.

My wife and I came here for a nice Sunday dinner and we were not disappointed!! Our server Law was AMAZING!! He was attentive and prompt and made suggestions at every interaction. Our food came out in the correct order (entrees fast, drinks faster and main dishes directly after) the atmosphere was nice and chill the music was not too loud and fairly upbeat. The tables were clean the temperature was appropriate and the staff were friendly and polite. The next time we have another night away from the kids we will be coming back again!

We walked in to find a clean looking, peaceful restaurant. The menus were clean as were the tables. The booth seat was a little uncomfortable to me (back was too straight) so we opted to sit at a table. My only complaint was the floor was very sticky.

I felt rushed as I was waiting on my guests to arrive who were stuck in traffic and the establishment was not halfway full at any point in the evening. All of us ordered spicy Thai dishes and none of them were spicy or held any of the traditional heat. You may want to say something, while ordering, to address your level of spicy/heat of the dish. All in all, an okay dining experience. I ordered the Pineapple Chicken and Chicken Chow Mein. I never seen Pineapple chicken just cooked, the chicken was not fried, had a lot of vegetables and mushrooms in there. The Chicken Chow Mein came with rice not noodles, and was not fried. I called the restaurant about the order, and was told by Cindy, not sure if that's her real name. She gave that name when I asked, that's how they make their food. I'm allergic against mushrooms and the Pineapple chicken looked disgusting. I wasted my money and was not offered an replacement for the awful food. There is no description about the dishes online. Pineapple Chicken the meat is fried. It is made like sweet & sour with fresh Pineapple, some restaurants put green peppers in the dish. Chow Mein is made with thin noodles and fried, not made with rice.
I asked for the owner, but was not provided with the persons name. I'm really upset about wasting my money, I did not eat the food.

The good: The hot and sour soup was amazing! This is coming from someone who has lived years in predominately Asian places. The not so good: honestly it's a buffet that has clearly been around for a while. The service was amazing. The food was what you'd expect. It wasn't nasty it had good taste especially the pad Thai and Asian rice. But for many of the dishes they weren't replenishing them fast enough for me. I'm not sure if it was the time of day we came right before dinner so that could've been it. But overall, if you're looking for a cheap place to just get full, this is your place.

Waitress kept staring at us so we felt uncomfortable while eating. The food tasted like dish soap, the chicken was chewy, everything was COLD, and I wish I never spent my money here. When we were heading to the counter up front the waitress ran to the front counter to make sure we were paying. Our server was pleasant and efficient, not to mention very kind. We ordered a Beef salad as an appetizer for mom and I to enjoy. I would say this pho place is fairly good with their meals & broth is delicious ! The reason why I rated them so low is due to their hours being not transparent. Their door says 9. Their online hours states 8:30 but the business really shuts down by 7:30…. We went to dine in at exactly 8 one night and they were not taking dine in. The next day we came back in around 7 and they took us but by 730 .. we heard the employees telling the walk ins they are closed for dine in. By 8:10 , they were telling their phone orders that they are closed…. Their employee also decided to take a personal call and she was super loud to the point we could hear her talk about her night time plans … I guess their business model is super laxed but that’s definitely not common at all: I suggest the owners take consideration into just stating they’re closed at 7:45 everyday because that would make more sense then shutting down 1 hour from their disclosed time. I get everyone wants to go home but it’ll cause less confusion this way.

I'm so happy we stopped at this restaurant on our way home. It reminded us of a few of the smaller restaurant in Korea when we went last year. We had the bulgogi combo plate and the dolsot bibimbap along with the kimbap. I love kimbap and make it myself, but there's something to be said for having someone else make it and it still being warm when you eat it. The food was amazing and we'll definitely return. We used to order from a small place on King St but they closed a few years ago. So sad.

I waited another 10 minutes for a second bowl to be made, which also felt light. Neither bowl I received appeared to be completely filled.
I knew I couldn't be imagining things, so I went to the Hampton location just to be sure...and sure enough, upon placing the same order I received a much better quality bowl (in around 5 minutes!) that was completely filled. Not only this, the price was CHEAPER than what they charge at this location! The last photo shows the two bowls side by side. Can you guess at a glance which one came from this location? Just go to the Hampton Domoishi; they have a higher rating for a reason.

However the service was not up to par. I ordered 35.00 worth of food. Best Thai food I've had in a long time, and I eat a lot of Thai food. Reasonable prices and friendly atmosphere. I had the Anya chicken (sweet but very delicious), red curry (very flavorful), and house salad (cheap considering its size and homemade peanut sauce was delicious)
All 3 dishes were significantly above average in my opinion.

My cousin has been mentioning how amazing the food is at Anaya. Yesterday we decided to go meet her for lunch at Anya, and we were not disappointed. We were greeted with a warm welcome. We were seated and greeted at our table by a gentleman who I believe maybe one of the owner. He was very kind and recommended several items that were all delicious. The food here was flavorful. For starters we got the money bag, spring rolls, and crab Rangoon. All the starters were delicious! For our meal my husband got the chicken basil fried rice which was so good. I got the curry fried rice with shrimp. It was amazing. Then we got the Rama dish to split. The peanut sauce was amazing. Each dish has amazing flavor. I enjoyed our dining experience.
