맨리비치에 가기 위해 페리를 타는 것부터 설레여요. 9시 쾌속선을 타고 갔는데 맨리까지 가는 풍경이 황홀해요. 갈때는 오페라하우스와 하버브릿을 뒤로하고 올때는 특히 밤에 아름다운 야경을 페리에서 맘껏 볼 수 있어요. 시드니를 상징하는 해변이여서 그런지 서핑하는 분들도 많고 현지인들도 많아 활기가 넘쳐요. 수영하고 놀았는데 파도는 조금 있는 편이에요. 해변 근처에 야외테이블과 의자가 많아서 편히 쉬기도 좋았어요. 근처에 맛집도 많아서 피시앤칩스, 미트파이, 요치등 다양하게 맛있게 먹었어요. 혼자든 친구랑이든 연인이랑이든, 맨리비치는 누구에게나 좋은 장소에요. 저는 시드니 여행동안 2번 방문했어요. 여름에 여행하시는 분들는 꼭 가세요!!! 시드니에서 본다이 비치와 함께 유명해서 시드니 관광 시 꼭 들러서 구경할 만한 해변. 파도가 다소 높아서 특히 서퍼들에게 인기가 많은 해변이기도 하다. 시드니 중심지역의 Circular Quay 선착장에서 페리를 타고 30분정도 바다를 건너서 Manly 선착장에 도착한 후, 7~8분 정도 걸으면 된다. 선착장에서 맨리해변까지 가는 길의 양옆으로 카페, 레스토랑, 비어펍, 그리고 다양한 상점들이 빼곡하게 자리잡고 영업중이라 많은 사람들로 붐빈다. 호주에서 꽤 유명한 microbrewery인 4Pines Brewery도 이 거리에 위치해 있다. 길게 뻗어 있는 백사장과 남태평양 바다, 그리고 주변 경치가 아주 멋지다. 어디서 출발한 건지는 모르겠지만, 해안가에서 패러글라이딩을 즐기는 사람들도 여럿 보인다. 이곳의 지명은 예전에 아서 필립 선장이 이 지역에 살고 있던 원주민들이 자신감이 넘치고 남자다운 행동을 보여줘서 Manly Bay로 명명했다고 전해진다. 시드니를 방문하면 들러볼 만한 관광지 중 하나이다.
