Let's start with allergy warning....as someone who has allergies I like to look up allergen lists online, but I could not find one for boardwalk....so I figured I would ask in the restaurant. Most restaurants have books or reference sheets to assist with allergy questions... So too should Boardwalk. The straws are not individually wrapped, fine in my house but not in a public restaurant, I don't want to reach into a communal container to get a straw that everyone else can touch.... The straws for the milkshake were also served by the server by hand, also unwrapped. After ordering we noticed the oily burt smell coming from the kitchen, not all that appetizing....we still hoped for the best. Unfortunately our fries and tater tots had a burnt oil aftertaste to them, meaning we barely touched them. (Think burnt peanut after taste) One burger was a cheese burger with bacon added, and you can see in the picture, the added bacon was soft and only on half the bun!?! The same burger was also so greasy I was able to squish the bun to drip the oil out of it, once I did that, I could eat the burger without the bun that was squishy from absorbing the grease. The kids burger was overcooked and blackened. The final burger, a Hawaiian burger was adequate but not worth coming back for. The more of the milkshake you drank the more the artificially flavoured sugar taste built up and affected the enjoyment of the drink. She did offer us a "coupon" for next time we are back, so we can try so thing different. But basically sat arguing with us on the phone, saying it looks shredded because its "falling apart tender". While on the phone with the owner/manager, they kept cutting us off and trying to speak over us, and when my wife raised her voice to cut thru the raised voice of theowner, she complained we were yelling and hung up. My wife also tried to tell her that she couldn't take a coupon for a sandwich because she has a gluten allergy and the lady wouldn't listen to her I've worked in customer service all my life, and I'm starting to see a downward trend in the quality of customer service available these days.
