The establishment provides reasonably priced meals including healthy salads, sandwiches, tacos, and quesadillas with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. Guests can enjoy live music in the evenings while savoring their meals in a relaxed atmosphere complemented by friendly staff and colorful decor.
Great food and drinks. I had the ceviche, calamar as appetizers and they were great, I really liked the calamar not fried as usual but sautéed: delicious. My 2 favorites were the fish and shrimp tacos, some of the best I have had. Prices are good and service is great. They have plenty of seating separate areas, WiFi has a limit :( … but the Passion Fruit cheesecake tho…. this was definitely a favorite during our trip.

I came here twice during my trip and absolutely loved it both times! The banana macadamia nut pancakes were amazing—fluffy, flavorful, and packed with macadamia nuts. I also had an iced mocha that was perfectly balanced and delicious. There’s plenty of seating, even for larger groups, so we never had to wait long. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
Rebekka M — Google review
Absolutely amazing! Highly recommend visiting here at any time of the day especially during live music. Lovely vibes, bilingual, happy and helpful staff. 10/10 would recommend coming here if you are looking for a relaxing atmosphere in the garden dining or lively environment at the bar. Seared fresh caught tuna was some of the best I’ve ever had!
Ray T — Google review
We dropped in to Milagros because it was conveniently located next to some cute shops on the main road and were pleasantly surprised. The open air restaurant and patio has a very nice atmosphere, even on a rainy day. The service was quick and the food was good. Wonderful pork tacos, rice and beans and plantains on the side. Green smoothie and a capparinia were delicious. Decent prices and a cute little gift shop out front. It was great.
Austin H — Google review
Stopped here for breakfast and was seriously impressed! The food was absolutely delicious, and the latte was so good I came back another day just to have it again. Service was fast and friendly, and we got our food quickly. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area!
Kennie W — Google review
The atmosphere is beautiful, and the food is delicious. I ordered El Tico with a side of extra crispy bacon (not pictured), which was 10/10. The side of bacon is enough for 2+ people. The iced coffee was nothing special, but the Vainilla Chilla Café Frío was delicious. Isaac, our waiter, was very friendly and attentive. Definitely would return!
Omri C — Google review
Delicious food!!! The Caribbean chicken was delicious just like if you were in the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.
Yoselin J — Google review
Needed a quick breakfast and stopped in here. There’s 3 parking spots right in front parallel to the road. We were immediately seated (we opted for the outdoor patio) and our drinks and food came quickly. I had a vanilla latte that was very good, and the mango crepes were delicious!! So flavorful, the berry syrup on top complimented them nicely but they weren’t overwhelmingly sweet. My boyfriend got “El Gringo” and it was a good, classic American style dish. I would absolutely come back here.

Located in front of Tulimar Resort in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio Falafel Bar offers a range of services including delivery, parking availability, alcohol service, takeout options, outdoor seating and indoor seating. The restaurant provides free off-street parking and is wheelchair accessible. Wine and beer are available for those wanting to enjoy their meals with a drink. They also accept American Express, Mastercard and Visa as payment options.
We stayed in Manuel Antonio for three days and ended up going to this falafel bar twice - that’s how good it is! We tried both the chicken shawarma plate and the chicken shawarma pita, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavours were fresh, and the portions were generous. They also have a great little salad bar where you can add your own toppings and sides, which was a nice touch. The staff were incredibly kind, and the service was exceptional both times we visited. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area and craving something tasty and satisfying!
Fareesha Z — Google review
This was such a lovely place to go and eat! Everyone who worked there are so friendly. We even became friends with the manager he was such a lovely guy. Also, my wife has a deathly allergy to peanuts and tree nuts, and they were very on top of it for her. The food was also phenomenal and we definitely recommend!
Erica E — Google review
Fantastic food and service! We had the falafel pita sandwiches, which had falafel, hummus and fries inside. We then got to stuff these with any salad and sauce from the salad bar, which was a nice touch considering the variety of salad and sauces on offer. Overall loved the food and the server was super friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back here again ☺️
Harshan F — Google review
We stopped by the Falafel Bar and had a great experience! We tried the falafel platter, and it was amazing. They serve you the fresh falafel and warm tortillas, and then you get to customize your own plate with all the salad options—which you can pile on as much as you want. That self-serve style was definitely a highlight! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but considering the portion size and the flexibility, it felt totally worth it. Honestly, one platter is more than enough for two people. We also tried the mango ginger slushy, which was a fun and refreshing surprise—something new and really flavorful. Overall, it was a lovely experience. I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting and looking for tasty vegetarian options in the area.
Bhavika P — Google review
Relaxed, fast casual environment. Straightforward menu with typical Mediterranean options. The food was okay— nothing to rave about. I have dietary preferences, so I avoided the pita bread and fries due to gluten intolerance. The build your own salad bar was awesome. The ingredients were fresh, but none of the sauces tasted appetizing. The others in my party thought the hummus tasted pretty flavorless. The chicken was a solid 6.5/10– nothing special. The atmosphere was good, though— a great place to have a laid back dinner or lunch.
Kambria L — Google review
Really , really good food! Not many people know this spot, but everything was sooo good and fresh. Prices were okay as well. They have a salad bar which you can use when ordering something, meaning you can eat all the greens and dressings you want. The salad bar was super clean. Would definitely recommend going here since it is one of the only spots in Manuel Antonio that isn’t extremely touristy!
V. E — Google review
We tried the hummus with tomatoes, chicken shawarma plate, chicken shawarma sandwich, kids beef kebabs, and fried chicken plate, and a side of falafel, ginger mango smoothie and strawberry banana smoothie. It was delicious and we took some food home. Counter service was fine. A lot of seating in the front of the restaurant. We were the only four people there for nearly the entire time.
Kristy — Google review
We got the chicken shawarma platter and split it. A lot of food! Chicken shawarma, fries, hummus, pita, and as much salad from the salad bar as you can fit on your plate. Really delicious food! The patio sits near the road and is nicely decorated and very welcoming.

Restaurant
Agua Azul is a restaurant located in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica, known for its stunning view of the Pacific Ocean. The restaurant offers perfectly cooked fish dishes, such as the popular red snapper served with a salad of shredded green papaya and plantains, topped with a sweet tamarindo sauce and paprika. The area experiences occasional rain showers which contribute to the lush greenery of the rainforest.
Our family has been itching for a good Pina Colada since we got to Costa Rica and we sure as heck found it here. We went in around 4:15 and had cocktails at a table with an incredible view of the ocean. The Pina Coladas and my Mai Tai were all incredibly good and we decided to stay for dinner. I got the beef tacos which were delicious. The beef was so incredibly well seasoned. My mom got the Costa Rican Yellowtail and was singing its praises. She also really liked the salad that came with it. My two brothers got the Tuna special and the Big Ass Burger (1lb) and shared them. They both hugely enjoyed their meals and we're commenting how good everything was. Our waiter was also very friendly and upbeat and checked on us often. I also want to mention the music. They were playing chill remixes of a bunch of popular house music and it was very pleasant. I think they had a DJ at the bar but I'm not totally sure. Would definitely visit there again. Highly recommended!!

Dont be fooled by the restaurant's sign (thats looks old) and the fact its small, it is the best restaurant ive been in costa rica. Great discovery. You have to try it! The owner is such a kind women, she tooks the time to great me. The staff are really attentive. I took the plantain tower. I would suggest to take only tuna. I mixed tuna and shrimp and the tuna was so good, j would have like to have only the delicious tuna. I also eat the oriental shrimp salad, which was fresh and light. The view is magnificient. Arrive early to choose your table (around 5pm).
Momofromthesky — Google review
Tostones with tuna were very good, the grilled tuna steaks were fantastic. The service is amazing and the staff will go out of your way to accommodate you. The owner told me that if I was not satisfied or liked the food I ordered, he would change it for something else which is very classy. You don’t hear anymore. Too notch. The views are magnificent.
Sergio H — Google review
Excellent food and view! We had the shrimp bruschetta and tuna tostadas and both were tasty. Then our main dishes were all very good The daily special of grilled sea bass with a passion fruit and blue cheese sauce was amazing, as was the lobster with seafood pasta special. The brownie and the bananas foster were great too. Not a single complaint !
Bridget R — Google review
A nice restaurant, good service and good food. They were busy and I overheard customers who were happy with their experience. I ordered takeaway and the service was fast. The manager was helpful spoke perfect English and was helpful. My burger was excellent, large (1/2 lb.) and the fries were natural cut. It definitely was a good restaurant with reasonable prices for the area.
JMQZ — Google review
If you want one of the best meals in Quepos, you have to come here! The place is small, but the food and the service are a plenty! The view was fantastic too! We came for dinner with 2 young children and they had a kids menu which was great for them.
Sabrina R — Google review
The view is beautiful. The food is okay. The buffalo chicken wrap was probably the best. We also had the Tuna Plantain tower. Not a lot of flavor. And the chicken fajitas to where the chicken was overcooked. The servers were great, drinks were good and views were magnificent.
B L — Google review
We had a couple of lunches at Agua Azul and loved it. The food was great, the staff was super friendly and speaks English fluently. I was particularly impressed by our waiter who knew exactly what my wife, who is pregnant, needed to know before ordering fish. That's not something we see very often. Finally, this place was recommended by our guide at Manuel Antonio National Park who told us this is a good spot to see Scarlett macaws. We didn't see any while eating, but the view is awesome nonetheless.

Emilio's Cafe is a delightful gem that has recently undergone renovations, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and live music that adds to its charm. The atmosphere is enhanced by a friendly and professional staff dedicated to providing exceptional service. Guests can indulge in an impressive selection of local coffees, fresh dishes, and delectable desserts like chocolate mousse and chile cake. The open-air setting benefits from refreshing ocean breezes, making it a perfect spot for relaxation after exploring Manuel Antonio National Park.
Great spot for breakfast before heading to Manuel Antonio National Park. The views were absolutely beautiful, we even saw a monkey in the trees (although the seating with better views is limited and usually held for bigger groups). The service was a 10/10. The prices are a bit higher than some other places but our food and drinks were a 10/10. They had the best flan and coffee that we had on the entire trip. I would definitely come back on my next trip.
Widnelly C — Google review
So good I had to go back again! Only in the area for a few days and have fallen in love with this place. From the outside, it is an unassuming sign for a coffee house, with an entrance tucked into a plain white building. You walk through the entrance and a place of magic reveals itself! Full of colour, a beautiful view, the best coffee and delicious food- definitely a place to visit!
Laura T — Google review
Absolutely loved Emilio’s cafe!!! We stumbled upon this place and were amazed by the views right as we walked in. Every seat has a great view. If you plan to come for breakfast & get a seat for directly next to the overlook, try and get there before ~930am and you’ll feel VIP. Jose was our server all three times we visited and he gave us great recommendations on coffee and food. Cafe con leche “Costa Rican style” and Gallo pico tipico were our favorites.
Megan B — Google review
Great food! I read about the coffee sirloin and it was delicious. The serving size was huge! I did not get to try the breakfast but heard it was good. They are open late compared to other restaurants in the area. Keep in mind they are closed on Tuesdays.
Karina R — Google review
We had our first breakfast in Manuel Antonio here and it was so memorable that we made sure to have our last breakfast here too! The staff is unbelievably kind. Def recommend the tico breakfast to kick off your stay! Take desserts to go for your room - we regret not inhaling more passion fruit pie! We purchased coffee to bring home as well. And the bacon….as you can see we ordered it twice.
Kallie D — Google review
Beautiful restaurant! Casual, but elegant. Amazing view! Great service, food, and coffee! Try the salmon pita. It’s fabulous!
Mary M — Google review
The view was impeccable. I got the Mexican Bowl. It was healthy, filling and tasted good. If you like spice, ask for hot sauce. It added a nice flavour to the dish
Charmaine S — Google review
Emilios was the hidden gem in Manuel Antonio! Looks so unassuming from the outside, like a little moody coffee shop, but when you walk in, it’s vast and stunning! Amazing views and even better food! Highlights on the menu: Salmon Benedict chilaquiles Cuban Any dessert and any coffee. We loved Emilio’s! If we had found it sooner I’m confident we would have eaten there daily.

El Avion is a unique dining spot located at the top of a hill, offering stunning jungle and ocean views along with a refreshing breeze. The restaurant is centered around a Fairchild C-123 cargo plane with an intriguing history related to the Iran-Contra scandal. The venue features an open-air design with wooden furnishings, including tables and chairs.
Fun dinner on our last night in Manual Antonio. The grouper is one of the best that I've had. Everyone also enjoyed their entrees. The only negatives I would say were the sides. Most entrees came with flavorless white rice and undercooked vegetables. Service was fantastic. We came in without a reservation and it was not busy at all. It does definitely cater to tourist bith in their pricing and menu but the atmosphere was great if you want to splurge.
B P — Google review
We stopped here for dinner on our last night in Costa Rica with a group of 15. Since we had made reservations, our table was ready as soon as we arrived. The atmosphere was wonderful, and the views were amazing. To top it off, we even had a surprise visit from a White-faced Capuchin and her baby—though they were mostly interested in swiping sugar packets from the table! From appetizers to main courses and dessert, everything we ordered was delicious. The combination of great food, beautiful setting, and unique experience made this the perfect way to end our trip. Highly recommend!
James J — Google review
Okay this place is very cool to grab a drink only. We went because its an old 737 that crashed there many years ago so they built a restaurant around it. We had my 5 year old nephew and 3 year old niece who loved the cock pit and dancing inside the plane. Our waiter was good but in Costa Rica no one is in a rush and my brother acted like a typical American who wanted his food quick. So the waiter just let's people relax and enjoy the views and get some drinks. He was great. We literally saw monkeys while sitting at our table. Now the food I would pass on for sure. We had a variety of different dishes and the best thing we got was the kids meals with the chicken strips. It was very expensive and you got appetizer size portions for your entre. Do not recommend the food. I even went downtown after to go shopping next to the national park and the restaurant guys were like gross why would you eat there. So I would try downtown closer to the entrance of the National park. Again you are paying for the view and the airplane experience.
Michelle D — Google review
Lovely restaurant! The food came out piping hot and so perfectly seasoned. I had the opportunity to taste the Fanta flavor exclusive to Costa Rica - Kolita. It reminded me of grenadine. The view is ahhh-mazing and you just happen to be dining underneath/around an entire airplane! ✈️ Monkeys were even seen along the perimeter. What more could you ask for?
Rhonda J — Google review
Nachos were incredible! They come without cheese for vegans but the guacamole, salsa and beans were super tasty. We had the poke bowl and fried rice as well - both really tasty and large portions. The view here is absolutely stunning, a must visit just for this. They do have a separate vegan section in the menu but it doesn't include every vegan option in there (the fried rice and linguine are in the main sections).
Harshan F — Google review
Really cool spot in Manuel Antonio. There's an airplane with a really interesting (and frankly) history with a bar inside. But the view seats are stunning as well, we had our dinner watching the sunset over the jungle and shoreline. Occasionally you can see some monkeys as well (please don't feed them though). Plenty of vegetarian options (we had kale salad, nachos and a vegetarian pasta dish) and there's a bus stop right outside the restaurant, every 30 ish minutes there's one in case you want to save on spending it on a taxi.
Bram V — Google review
Wonderful lunch — the view is stunning. The service is okay. Some waiters wonderful and some others … not super smiley and helpful. The food was good. And everything makes it great with the plane and the monkeys all around . Great experience .

The owner, Ronny Alpizar, adds to the charm of this restaurant. Located on top of a hill away from city lights, it provides a stunning setting for a date night.
Great food and drinks! I had the fish of the day, which was red snapper filet served with potatoes, veggies and a light garlic cream sauce. Really good! The house margaritas were delicious as well. My husband had the tuna sandwich. Delicious as well. The service was friendly. The view beautiful.

Ronny's Place was a great place to celebrate our anniversary. We emailed ahead of time to make a reservation at 5:30, but Ronny suggested 5 for the best sunset views and I'm glad he did. We didn't need a reservation for late June, but you may during busier seasons. The tuna tartar was an awesome and light appetizer to start with. The coffee was hot and fresh, too. My coconut shrimp was delicious! Big juicy and crisp shrimps with awesome mashed potatoes and veggies. The mango pineapple doing y sauce is to die for. The fish of the day my husband got was fresh, tender and absolutely delectable. We loved eating here! We would suggest a spritz of bug spray before going to deter mosquitoes.

Loved the view, generous portions and very good meals. Jan was our server, he was polite, knowledgeable and professional. We had the octopus carpaccio, tina steak and the ribs and they did not disappoint, food was amazing. It's not a cheap place but the food was definitely worth it. We loved this place!

We decided to find a place a little nicer while in the area on vacation. The atmosphere was fantastic! We loved the environment, the staff was fun, the restaurant layout was interactive with a great view. The Churrasco was fantastic, my bolognese wasn’t overcooked and good portions. If you want a memory and great experience you have to order the banana dessert; checkout the video!

Went there for dinner. The restaurant is nice. The food and drinks were really good ( portions are small compared to many other restaurants in Costa Rica ) We ordered berry gin & tonic, passion fruit gin & tonic and a dirty martini. To eat we ordered the fish of the day with shrimp sauce and seafood rice. For dessert we had the strawberry cheesecake and it was really good. But we saw a table getting the flambé banana dessert and it looks amazing , specially if you wanna get a nice video for social media.

El Wagon is a popular Italian restaurant in Manuel Antonio that offers wood-fired pizza and other dishes. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an old-fashioned diner, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is delicious and well worth trying, especially if you're a fan of pizza.
Great restaurant. They serve pizzas, burgers and other appetizers. The food is delicious and the portions very generous. The decor is beautiful, with trees in the middle of the restaurant, you feel like you’re in the jungle. The experience is very peaceful and calming, you just don’t want to leave ! Ronald is very nice and helpful. Ask for him if you get the chance to go !

Amazing food and great service! We came in with limited time and informed our waiter right away—he was very accommodating. Our check and our food came quickly. The food was excellent! I ordered the grilled chicken wrap as a salad and it was prefect! One of the best salads I’ve ever had! My brothers both got pizza and they loved it! Cool environment, amazing food, great service! Definitely a must-try in Manuel Antonio!

Fantastic pizza in the jungle! 🌴 I had the Diavola pizza and it was everything I wanted – cheesy, meaty, spicy, and perfectly peppery. My wife’s pizza had pineapple and coconut, which surprised us with how delicious it was. The cheese pulls were beautiful, and the atmosphere was incredible – it honestly felt like enjoying pizza right in the middle of the jungle. A must-visit for pizza lovers in Quepos!
Mike J — Google review
The place is very appealing! We started with pina colada and the gorilla biz i believe it was called. They were super good. Then we ordered jalapeño poppers (order of 3) and focaccia mozzarella and garlic. They were very good, the poppers could have used some seasoning or salt but we added some and they were awesome 👌 then we ordered the beeflovers pizza 🍕 and I really enjoy thin crust pizza😀 it was very tasty! I highly recommend it 👌 the service in all Costa Rica has been great. But the restaurants of this chain have been the most welcoming I would say. They also speak very good English, I didn't have to translate to my partner at all their locations. Oh, they also havw costco hot dogs hehe I highly recommend you looking into their restaurants like anaconda, avión, chiquita cabaña and the other locations they own.

We weren’t expecting to love this so much but it was truly great! The staff is super friendly, pizza was absolutely delicious, drinks were fantastic and it’s such a unique space. Some of our other Manuel Antonio experiences have been underwhelming but El Wagon was perfect. We will come back next time we’re here!

Decided to watch sunset from this restaurant as it was very close to our hotel. We went early and got a table right at three perfect spot for sunset. The catch of the day was deep fried red snapper served with deep fried plantain and a spiralized tossed salad and also a buttery dipping sauce and pico de Gallo and guacamole for the fried plantain. The red snapper was so light, flaky and tender. I really enjoyed. My husband ordered the hamburger and also enjoyed how perfectly cooked it was. Staff was very attentive.

Our favorite place to dine, with an amazing view, delicious food and drinks, and excellent service! Highly recommend eating here, the live music is a lovely touch. We saw so many macaws, monkeys and lizards here as well. I personally recommend the patacones!

Had a fantastic time in the restaurant while we were staying in Si Como No Resort. Food was excellent (even better than the second restaurant 😉) - especially the tuna 😊 Actually we went out only once fir dinner during our 5 nights as we were so happy with the restaurant. We were allowed to enjoy our food and drinks in the pool.

Extremely friendly staff (shout out to Alejandro for going above and beyond for us) and fresh delicious food and drinks. Amazing views of the ocean too! Great experience! Edit: We came back a second time and had excellent service and food again. Highly recommend!!

Very good looking and well presented American /European food, small portions and overpriced for what it was. The spicy prawns had zero spice in it and the gazpacho cold soup was very bland and had no garlic in it. I respect chef's choice, but this was no gazpacho to my taste. Nice views and nice atmosphere. Very helpful staff kept trying to clear the table.

Delicious food, helpful staff, nice setting Beautifully presented, beautiful tasting food, with a menu centered around Costa Rican and Carribbean flavours. Bilingual wait staff are friendly, helpful, attentive and polite. Members of the team like Dario will ensure you're well looked after. A great place for dinner at sunset and once the sun's gone, your meal remains underscored with a mix relaxing music and the sounds of the surrounding wildlife.

We had a lovely dinner here this evening with our 2 children. Our server, Omar, was as helpful as could be and the food was delicious! We had the whole snapper, which was perfectly cooked and the mahi mahi with shrimp sauce, also delicious. Our cocktails were also very nice. It's a bit pricier than some other places, but once you see the views and enjoy the live music, you'll see why. We were celebrating a special occasion and this was the PERFECT place to do it!

Such a fun place to stop! Both my sister and I enjoyed ourselves so immensely the first night we visited, that we had to come back the next evening for drinks and dessert. The highlight was the staff. Paola, Alan, and Linda took such great care of us and truly made as feel like we were home. Paola made us incredible drinks - the passionfruit mocktail (with or without tequila) was delicious, and I also particularly enjoyed a pineapple/ancho Reyes cocktail with a tajin rim. I especially appreciated the staff’s overall kindness in addition to their willingness to switch back and forth between English and Spanish, as I wanted to practice my Spanish, but my sister doesn’t understand it well and English is more comfortable for her. It was so nice that she felt completely included in the conversation. We had incredible breakfasts here each morning which were included in our stay at Si Comi No. The Omelette, Huevos Rancheros, and Benedict were favorite dishes of ours. The view is gorgeous, and the open air atmosphere is so calming and inviting. Would definitely recommend.

Restaurante El Arado is a charming seafood restaurant located on the Old Road to Manuel Antonio. It's a family-owned establishment that prides itself on using fresh ingredients straight from their farm and traditional secret family recipes. The atmosphere is laid back with friendly service and live music, making it an inviting place to enjoy a meal. Customers have praised the quality of the food, particularly highlighting dishes like grilled lobster, shrimp bisque, tuna rolls, and fish with capers.
Stopped by El Arado around 8:45 PM and had a great meal! I ordered the Tico Rice with chicken, and it was incredibly flavorful and delicious. The portion was just right, and the side salad was fresh with a nice balsamic vinaigrette. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot to enjoy a local meal. Highly recommend if you’re in Manuel Antonio!

Such delicious food! We went for lunch and ordered the mango juice, mixed ceviche, seafood pasta with white sauce, and fish tacos. It’s the best ceviche I’ve ever had and the seafood pasta is something I know I’ll dream about when I return home. Our server was very welcoming and friendly. We also saw two macaws fly by and perch on a nearby branch while eating. This was a nice surprise for my 5 year old daughter who has only seen macaws at the zoo. Would definitely recommend.

Nice to place to eat something. We had a very young waiter, obviously new and he struggled a bit but it was nice. Food was good, I stayed with the minstrel - rice with shrimps. Colleagues ate a soup and pasta and seemed to be very satisfied with the choice. Atmosphere is very good. Would be coming back for sure.

The snapper and tuna were both delicious and very fresh. Both were recommend by our waiter Rafael who was so kind and engaging. The best dinner we have had so far in Costa Rica!

Really happy to find this family owned business. The owner came over to greet us immediately and his son was our server. I love seeing a family happily working together and you could see this. The tuna rolls were insane. Best I’ve ever had! Our main courses were very fresh. I would gladly recommend this local Costa Rican cuisine!

Really liked this place. Good seafood and nice cocktails. Nothing fancy, but really good tasting and pretty good value. The service was also super nice - the waiter answered all of our questions about Costa Rica and gave us some good Spanish phrases to use. I highly recommend the fish tacos, they were delicious. They have a happy hour - 2 for 1 cocktails - between 3pm and 7pm.

We were recommended to eat here by our Villa host our first night. The service was very good and the drinks were great, but the food was just OK. The best thing we ordered was the tuna roll. The grilled seafood platter my wife got was overcooked with the lobster almost burnt. The whole thing was soaked with too much butter sauce. My steak was not that great either. It was a Monday night so the place was pretty quiet. We would probably give them another chance but not order what we got.

📍 El Gran Escape Bar and Restaurant – a great spot for a quick bite. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The passion fruit smoothies are especially delicious – fresh and flavorful. However, the wine was a bit too sour. The ambiance is comfortable with a local vibe, adding to the authenticity. The food is tasty, although slightly overcooked, but still good overall. The restaurant also offers reliable internet, which is a nice bonus. ✅ Recommended for a casual meal and a relaxing break! 🌴

We had dinner here two times and both times it was delectables. We are vegetarian and its difficult to find good vegetarian options when we travel. Elliot was our server with a big smile on his face. He made us comfortable and shared the vegetarian menu with us. He also addressed our question calmly. We ordered Garden Spagetti once and it was delicious - spice level was per our desire and inputs given. Next time, we ordered Teriyaki sauce dish and Oriental style rice- both exceeded our expectations along with Elliott. We loved the food, vibe and out super host Elliott. Highly recommended when you are in the area!

Fantastic place!  Came with a family - El Gran Escape was very family friendly, they had excellent coloring sheets for the kiddos.  Our food was delicious.  I had the seafood risotto, omg.  It had a full crab, catch of the day, shrimp, cooked perfectly, totally delicious.  Kids had the kids fish fingers and kids cheeseburger.  The portions are huge - we took 90% of the kids' food in a to-go box.  Waitstaff was friendly and patient.  Walking distance to the beach.  Absolutely great spot.

The restaurant has a fun vibe and can accommodate large groups quickly. The menu features handwritten daily specials, including dishes like maduro cooked with freshly picked plantains. This spot was a great find on our first night’s stay in Manuel Antonio. The happy hour drinks were 2 for 1 for about $12–we enjoyed the Pina Colada’s. The food options were ample and the ambiance super nice! We had great service from Jorge and enjoyed talking with him.

Shrimp taco’s was excellent. Three really good stuffed tacos with a nice salsa from this part of Costa Rica. Casado is a little different than Casado from Caribbean side but still good as it fills your stomach and has a nice salad besides. Overall super place to eat tasty food with a lot of choices

Soda Sánchez is a true local gem! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional — the server and staff were incredibly courteous, friendly, and professional. The restaurant itself is spotless, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The food was outstanding and authentically local. We enjoyed the Lomito Pimento Verde and Filete de Atún, both bursting with fresh, rich flavors that highlight Costa Rican cuisine at its best. The mojitos were perfectly chilled and refreshing — a great complement to our meal. Prices are very reasonable, and the location is excellent — just a short walk from the pier. Overall, Soda Sánchez is a must-visit when in Quepos. Excellent service, delicious food, and a true taste of local hospitality!

Stopped on the way to Manuel Antonio. Friendly staff and great food, one of the few vegetarian friendly options in town. We had a veggie wrap (comes with fries), fish plate (typical costa rican plate with a piece of fish), mango juice and a pineapple juice. There's parking available, it just can be a bit tight if there's lots of customers.

Soda Sanchez – A Must-Visit Culinary Experience in Quepos Soda Sanchez is a true gem in Quepos! From the cozy, vibrant ambiance to the incredible food, this restaurant checks all the boxes for an unforgettable dining experience. We indulged in the waffle combo, which was nothing short of perfection. The waffles were golden, crisp on the outside, and wonderfully fluffy on the inside. Paired with fresh blueberries, strawberries, and a side of syrup, every bite was a delightful mix of sweet and satisfying. The fruit platter was a refreshing burst of natural sweetness, featuring perfectly ripe and vibrant fruits that made us feel like we were enjoying a tropical paradise on a plate. The omelet, cooked to perfection and served with toasted bread and a fresh veggie garnish, was hearty and satisfying. And let’s not forget the highlight—their house-made hot sauce! It brought the perfect balance of heat and flavor, elevating every dish to a whole new level. Soda Sanchez is more than just a meal; it’s an experience. If you’re in Quepos, this spot is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving fresh, delicious food with a side of local charm. Highly recommended!

Perched on the highest point in the area, La Mariposa Hotel offers breathtaking panoramic views of the ocean and Manuel Antonio National Park. The open-air restaurant, Le Papillon, provides arguably some of the best views in Costa Rica, allowing guests to enjoy meals while overlooking the water and national park. While some visitors have noted concerns about food quality and pricing, others praise the comfortable beds and stunning vistas.
We rented a casita and thoroughly enjoyed this lovely place. The pools were clean and the bartender Gerald was wonderful. The restaurant was consistently delicious and we always had great service. We wished the shuttle ran more often as driving around town was just too stressful. Other than that we had a perfect stay. The gardens are stunning and multiple kinds of monkeys visited every day. It was so beautiful.

Everyone was so friendly and kind. The restaurant La Papillion is delicious!! Try the octopus appetizer! Next time we are coming back for 2 weeks!!

The property itself is beautiful, the views overlook the cliffs and ocean. But the rooms are very outdated, our bathroom mirror light didn’t work, and our balcony door didn’t close fully, which let bugs in. What disappointed me the most was the service here. There was one staff member who was wonderful, he went out of his way to point out animals nearby, like sloths in the trees. Unfortunately, almost everyone else gave off very unwelcoming energy. I’ve traveled to many countries and usually hotel staff are welcoming and want you there, but here I felt like I was bothering them by asking for anything. It started the second we arrived with guy at the entrance gate. He was extremely rude as I was confused how to enter the hotel. He should probably get a different job since he’s so miserable. The free breakfast only went until 9:30 a.m., which already feels unusually early, and every day we came at around 9:15–9:20, we were rushed and given annoyed looks along with rude little comments about the time. It made us feel uncomfortable. In addition we had dinner here one night and our waiter literally rolled his eyes when he recommended 200$ bottles of wine only and we chose a $70 bottle. Overall, the vibe from the staff came across as passive-aggressive and focused on money rather than hospitality. Beautiful hotel but would never stay here again or recommend. No one should feel uncomfortable on their vacation when paying for a “luxury hotel”.
Emira S — Google review
This is the best hotel I have ever stayed at! The staff went above and beyond for our entire visit, One time it was raining and the concierge walked me across the parking lot, holding an umbrella over me the entire time, so nice! Yerald the bartender is the nicest man on earth and became friends with my boyfriend, and even came to dinner with us and had an amazing night. Me and my boyfriend went fishing and caught a tuna and brought it back to the hotel, and the chef made the most amazing dinner ever for us out of the tuna. The views and rooms are amazing. I would rate this hotel 10 stars if I could.

Wow!! Couldn't have picked a better place to stay. View was absolutely unbeatable. Food was amazing. Service was excellent. So happy we chose to stay here.
Sergil R — Google review
This property is beautiful! The lush landscapes, the infinity pools, and the unmatched views of the ocean and surrounding mountains are incredible. The customer service, however, is very lacking. We were treated very poorly by Alan and a few other staff members. The staff lacks professionalism, and they treat you like they’re doing you a favor by serving you. They will do anything they can to try to get more money out of you. I don’t think I would stay here again. We went on to stay at the Waldorf Astoria Punta Cacique for 5 nights, and we could definitely tell the difference in customer service between the two places (we were treated like royalty at the WA). There are also issues with plumbing at La Mariposa. The water pressure is very low and our toilet was semi clogged upon arrival. They ran out of towels at the pool, the bar tender had a poor attitude. Everything just felt very odd here. It’s a shame because the place is stunning. I think an urgent change in staff and management is needed.
Maria A — Google review
I'll be honest that the 3 star rating made me think twice about booking here, but after our visit I'd argue the hotel should be rated 4 stars. Our experience was positive in so many ways - the views are spectacular, room was spacious and very clean, pool area is lovely, and food was good. The hotel has a cat that hangs out in the open reception area and was just such a sweet bonus. We saw a sloth, white-faced monkeys, and many birds while staying. The staff was very pleasant and happy to help with whatever was needed, and the gift shop for the hotel was cute with some fun souvenirs. There are numerous shops and restaurants within a very short walk, and while the beach is walkable they also offer a shuttle; we had rented a car and it was a short drive to the beach. We'd arranged our own tours/activities in the area, but the hotel offers coordination of numerous options as well. We're glad we stayed at La Mariposa!

Runaway Grill is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal overlooking the marina. The prices are much lower than expected, and the service is typical for Costa Rican restaurants. The atmosphere is breezy and perfect for lunch or dinner, with comfy chairs and a unique table layout.
This is a great spot for couples and small groups! The food was delicious (crab dip, shrimp scampi, and fish tacos), the view of the marina was stunning, and the service was great. It was great pricing for the quality of food we received. Highly recommend coming here, especially around sunset!

We caught a recommendation for Runaway in our Lonely Plant tour guide. The restaurant is situated in a trndy outdoor shopping mall right off the marina. What you get is a great view of the ocean and a good vibe from both locals and tourists. Runaway has a great atmosphere and good food. Staff are friendly and attentive. You should be good with Spanish or English. The restaurant has a heavily American-inspired menu and decor. But there’s some great local flare in the drinks and food too. Prices are reasonable. We got an appetizer, a sandwich platter, 2 cocktails, and dessert for ~$36 including tax and tip. We’d come back in a heartbeat.

This is truly the best place above all other sodas and restaurants in the Quepos and Manuel Antonio area. Most local spots are overrated, but here the prices for standard dishes are no higher than in typical local restaurants, and on top of that they offer interesting specials and great seafood. We tried simple rice with shrimps, whole fish, and octopus, and everything was delicious. You can find options under 5500 per person as well as more elaborate dishes. We came to Sabromar every time from Manuel Antonio because other sodas and restaurants were overpriced, and this place never disappointed. The place is very pleasant and clean, the service is excellent, and the prices are completely reasonable. Solid 5 out of 5. Highly recommend to everyone!

We got married for a SECOND time here. Incredible and fun service. Great tasting plates and sangria. Came here for a honeymoon date, next thing I know my wife is walking down the aisle in between the tables to me with a veil on and wedding bells playing in the background. Marita married us again and then we had an amazing meal after. Everything was delicious. 10/10 place.

Not good food at all. We ordered seafood platter for 3 and a seafood cream soup. All the seafood was felt like it was old. The squid and octopus was extremely tough. Fish was overcooked to the point that it felt like squid! One of the two lobsters that can felt more like a large shrimp than a lobster. muscles, clams mostly were not open or didn’t have any meat inside them. The soup was good but again the seafood inside the soup were not fresh and overcooked. Not recommended to order this platter. We had a much better seafood platter at the gate of Manuel Antonio park. The sea view is ok, nothing spectacular.

This place is above the rest. I had the singles mix plate with crab, lobster, clams and octopus. It had garlic covered on it. Little salty but was good. The wife had the cordone blue and she said it was just ok. Had the cheese cake also. It didn't compare to most places. I would say for this place it is good but not to me. The staff was great and the place is nice.

By far the best food, service and value I had while traveling in Costa Rica. Our fried calamari appetizer was tender and crisp with a few shrimp surprises. I had the catch of the day, Mahi-Mahi, which the crust, sauce, and accompanying vegetables made it one of the best meals I have had in years. The service was professional, attentive, and perfectly bilingual. At a level I would expect from a fine dining establishment. The resturant has an amazing view of the harbour and would be an incredible place to watch the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. If you are in Quepos you must eat here.

This was honestly one of the best meals of my life. The flavors were so over the top amazing. If you come to Quepos/Manuel Antonio, you should not miss this place. The great view and super service is just a bonus!

The seared tuna with zucchini spaghetti and roasted tomato was an excellent combination. Also, the mojito was great, and the view of the marina was a perfect bonus

Fantastic find on our 1st day in Manuel Antonio. Great service, food and drinks all at very reasonable prices. We would highly recommend Baldi’s to anyone spending time in Manuel Antonio.

We had a delicious and delightful experience here with fresh fruit smoothies, phenomenal appetizers, ceviche, fish tacos and a unique plantain hamburger! Highly recommend. The service was warm and friendly, we enjoyed our visit immensely!

Had dinner last night and our meal was delicious. We had the fresh red snapper with a sauce over it that had seafood in it and a little bit of spice. It was absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent, and we felt it was reasonably priced. The price we paid included two drinks each.
Karen D — Google review
Service is excellent, atmosphere is pretty good with views of the ocean and street. We enjoyed watching street vendors. But food is average. Fish was dry outside and inside. One of worst casado we have had in Costa Rica. Juice was quite okay.

We had an amazing dinner in the middle of a downpour! The staff was incredible and so kind and welcoming. Our food was delicious and a great way to end our time in Manuel Antonio. I only wish wish I would have had more cash to tip the servers because they were phenomenal!

Had a lovely lunch here with a view of the sea. Waiters were super attentive and friendly. Had a really nice shrimp pasta and the shrimp were so fresh and lots of them. The mango smoothie was delicious too and we got a very nice shot on the house which had a hibiscus salt rim. Never had that before but very nice. Would really recommend

De La Finca is a vibrant and cozy restaurant that offers a variety of delicious dishes, including steak, wraps, and sandwiches. The ingredients are locally sourced from nearby farms, reflecting the restaurant's name "De la Finca," which means "from the farm." They also provide express delivery services and share their menu on their Facebook page.
The food was absolutely amazing and delicious. 100% no fault. So good, that we even ordered a third meal. This was a great find and possibly one of the best restaurants in the area.

Visited here in Jan 2025 had an absolutely amazing meal. I don't recall the names of meal we had, but everyone loved the food. If you're not very familiar with the area you might feel uneasy. Rest assured it's safe. The parking is mostly street so you might have walk a bit on busy nights, so worth it. The drinks were delicious and the service was pretty good for what appeared to be a 2 person operation. The Atmosphere could be a little better, but don't let that hold you back from coming. They do their very best to have level table and chair with what they have to work with. It will be on my repeat list next visit.
Joseph B — Google review
When I arrived it was empty (6-7pm on a Wednesday), and I thought “shiiiit did I get fooled by fake reviews” but I went ahead and ordered the dishes many seemed to recommend - a tuna poke bowl and the creamy shrimp pasta. Idk if it’s cuz we’ve had many bland meals leading up to this dinner, but we took one bite of each and immediately said it was the best meal we’ve had in Costa Rica lol. Anyways not cheap as is most places we’ve tried, but delicious food so we didn’t mind.
Elvi T — Google review
Enjoyed an excellent meal here. All the dishes were made with fresh ingredients, especially the tuna was amazing. Vegetables were very crisp and tasty. Atmosphere was very relaxed and the people were very kind! Highly recommend it.

Very good restaurant in Quepos. The food was all really good. The burger had mango and other items on it that made it unique but also delicious. It was a great quick stop for lunch. Everything tasted fresh and would come here again.
John H — Google review
What an amazing place. We ate here on a Tuesday night around 8 pm with a group of 10 people. The staff was super friendly. The place has a great atmosphere and a huge table to accommodate a large group. The star dish was the Thai tuna. It was so fresh and a huge portion of yellow tail Tina. Several people ordered it and everyone that tasted it was amazed. Most dishes come with a seared sweet plantain which was delicious. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was that a few of our various steak dishes got cooked with the wrong temperature. It seemed like they flip flopped a few of the temps and cooked them wrong like well done instead of medium rare and vice versus. Over all a great place and we would recommend to go try it out. Added note. The drinks are amazing and for us they were adding strawberries which was great but the menu does not let you know that. In case you don’t like strawberries.
Tim C — Google review
Only tried the poke! The good: all the ingredients were very fresh and tasted quality. The bad: wayyy too much sauce it was very very very sweet and overpowered everything else so you couldn’t taste the ingredients. Couldn’t eat the rice, it was like eating candy. The service was quick as we were the only ones in and they were friendly.
Connor R — Google review
What a great find! Delicious food in a darling, comfortable, laid back atmosphere! The wait staff were attentive and friendly (even sharing with us their pineapple smoothie recipe!) and the food was just what we needed after a day hiking to the nearby waterfalls. The menu had a wide variety of options so everyone could find something to love with so much flavor! Wish we would have found this place sooner on our trip as we would have made frequent visits!

Restorante L'Angolo Gastronomia Italian Deli is a top-notch dining spot in the heart of Quepos, Costa Rica. The restaurant offers an authentic Italian experience with a cozy indoor dining area that provides a welcome retreat from the bustling streets. Luigi, the chef and owner, brings his expertise to every aspect of the dining experience, ensuring that guests are treated to genuine Italian cuisine.
The food was excellent and the owner was very friendly. Service was pretty quick! I had the carbonara and it was fantastic!
Desiree W — Google review
This is a very small Italian restaurant that I believe is run by the owner and his son. We were looking for Italian our first night in Quepos and this place popped up. It was an easy drive with easy street parking. It wasn’t a bad experience by any means, but both the food and service were just ok at best. It was for of us and we sat down and were promptly greeted and were given menus. He later took our drink order and food order, which we accurately received later. Because it’s two of them, and there were other guests, it took a bit longer than we might have hoped. But we simply talked to the table next to us to pass the time. The food arrived and was just ok. The garlic bread was cold as it was likely made before the pastas and sat there. The caprese salad was fine, but nothing special. I had the namesake pasta and it was pretty bland without a lot of flavor. The fettuccine noodles themselves were actually pretty good. My kids both got the Alfredo, which was pretty odd. On the ingredients it listed cooked ham, but I would have assumed it was something like a pancetta, or guanciale, but it was more like a chef salad kind of ham (see photo). I’ve just never had ham like that in a pasta. Lastly, know that the atmosphere is super casual and bland. This is perfectly fine if you are aware, but keep that in mind if you are in town for a limited time and can only pick a couple places for dinner. For us, it just fell short given the other great restaurants we experienced while in Costa Rica.
Jason A — Google review
My wife and I visited for lunch. The restaurant was not too busy, so everything was great. After reading the other reviews, we had some reservations about our visit. We can honestly say that we thoroughly enjoyed everything! This was some of the BEST pasta dishes we've ever tasted 😋! Yes, the owner didn't appear to be overly friendly, but he wasn't unfriendly either. And once we told him how much we enjoyed our meals, we could tell this meant a lot to him... and we got him to smile! If you find yourself in Quepos, in my opinion, it's worth the visit.
My V — Google review
I recently visited this restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy, fresh, light, and airy ambiance. I would rate it 5/5. We found parking right in front of the restaurant on the street, so I'd also give it a 5/5 for convenience. The location is quite busy, with guests constantly arriving during dinner time. As for the main dishes, we had perfect fresh tomato sauce pasta, Pasta with Pomodoro sauce, and pasta with cream sauce mushroom, all of which I would rate 5/5. I'll be returning on my next visit.
Duygu B — Google review
I’ve lived in Costa Rica for over 7 years and have yet to find better Italian food. This small Italian restaurant gives you an authentic experience and the food reminds me of Italy. Visit when you have plenty of time to spare as this Italian experience can last a bit longer than expected.
Esteban A — Google review
This was the best Italian food I’d ever had, and I’m Italian from NY! The owner was the waiter and chef. It was made fresh in the small kitchen he has, with the most Italian ingredients. My wife and I both order two completely different things, and both were AMAZING! He mad the pasta by hand. The price was below average too, so I didn’t mind getting anything in the menu. I wish this guy and his restaurant was closer to my home and not Costa Rica. Fantastic atmosphere and perfect sized restaurant. This place should be soooo popular but I don’t think many ticas are eating Italian. Would recommend 100%

Luigi is doing real work in Quepos, Costa Rica. He’s the chef, server and wine pourer. We recently went to Italy for a couple weeks…Luigi has somehow transported classic Italian cuisine to Costa Rica. DO NOT PASS ON THIS PLACE. The bruschetta pomodora and bruschetta mozzarella y prosciutto was insane good. I had the carbonara and it was like I was eating it sitting next to the colosseum at Historia La Gladiaria. We had the brownie and gelato 🥹 enough said. We ended the meal with a digestivo. Luigi had two with us. He is a one man show so know that it takes a little longer BUT totally worth it.

The food was really tasty. The owner runs the place and was preparing everything by himself. You need to be ready for “Pura Vida” pace. Things to improve- the toilet was out of paper. Overall very good experience.

My wife and I had a lovely meal here on our honeymoon. Had plenty of drinks and enjoyed the sunset, the views are amazing. The appetizers blew us away were very unique and delicious. Rainbow roll was our favorite and it is not sushi. The main courses are fantastic, fresh great portions and cooked to perfection. Leo the lion was our waiter and he took great care of us and really made the experience even better.

Octopus was the most over done I’ve ever had and almost worthy of crying over. Tacos were decent. Rice and chicken were decent, and CHICKEN NUGGETS were the best. I had the Pesca En El Malecón. The fish was tasty. It was on top of vegatables and potatoes that were bland at best. The service was terrible even though there were 3 or 4 servers and only 3 other tables had guests. I've been in Quepos for 4 days and have had 3 meals a day. This was the least favorite so far. The sandwiches is good here. Have them heated it up and the bread is warm and crispy. The pastries though is not good. They have potato, beef, cheese, chicken and a mix of beef/potato. However the filling is so dry. They also sell cakes, coffee, and small bottles of alcohol. Friendly service.

Hello, came here for an iced latte for breakfast/lunch but the lady at the front so rude. She added drip coffee to my iced latte and said espresso and drip coffee is the same thing. Either she doesn’t know espresso shots and drip coffee is different but regardless rude, attitude, and extreme bad behavior. I spent money on garbage. If you don’t want to work and provide good service then don’t work. Then she acted like we don’t have an espresso machine. I don’t know what’s wrong with her but if you are the owner please replace this lady. She doesn’t even know how to smile.

We came here twice the smoothies were so tasty! Guanábana, melon, strawberry, banana, so good! We tried the empanadas and they were good too. There were plenty of food options (from lunch options such as casados, olla de carne, to sandwiches, pastries and cakes). It seemed like a local place, not too touristy. The service was attentive and the price was reasonable. They have tables inside (and AC!) and a small terrace outside with a few tables too.

They open at 3, not as Google says, at least on Sundays. We had the fish in a white cream sauce with shrimp and octopus (or calamari, not sure), called "marinara". It was excellent with generous amount of seafood. It was served with white rice (great side for the sauce) , French fries and a nice salad. It was not a huge serving of any of the sides but there was a lot of protein in the main dish. It eas the right amount.. We always share as we are small eaters and it was perfect.

Donde Alex, The only place we experienced as a tourist trap in Costa Rica. Somehow they were able to manipulate the charge and we ended up paying an additional $10 for our lunch after the park tour. This place came highly recommended by our driver. Probably because it’s a scam. We ate at a dozen restaurants during our stay and never had this discrepancy on the bill. I attached other receipts for proof. You can clearly see the difference in price and the exchange rate. No excuse for this behavior. Countries like Costa Rica depend heavily on tourism. This is one of those bad apples. Food was good. Edited Review Based on Donde Alex Response (8/14/25) I stand by my review. I specifically attached other receipts from restaurants we visited while on vacation in Costa Rica for reference. Clearly, I put thought into this review, instead of just posting. All three receipts have the tax and service fee. I am NOT disputing these two charges. All three receipts pictured were obtain within a couple days of each other during our stay in Costa Rica, so the national exchange rate is pretty much the same. However, the issue is in the conversion from Colones to USD with Donde Alex. The Donde Alex Colones total is 59655. This is equal to 117.91 USD (see picture for exchange rate) However, I paid 128.29, a difference of 10.38 more than what the conversation rate is. In addition, I used two other receipts showing little difference in the conversion rate. Receipt Example 1, 103825 colones is approximately 208 USD. Receipt example 2, 72976 colones is approximately 146 USD. While I understand the exchange rate fluctuates daily, it does not fluctuate by 10 USD from day to day. A little difference here and there for sure. "Background. Costa Rica's exchange rate is set by the Central Bank of Costa Rica. It fluctuates daily but is usually between 500-600 colones (₡) per 1 US dollar. You can check today's official exchange rate through the government website." -Google Search Again, food was good, especially the Trio de la Casa. The meat was tender and the portion size was perfect for two people.

I liked having breakfast here so much that I came back for lunch! For breakfast, I had the "typical" Costa Rican dish of gallo pinto, which was delightfully cilantro-flavored, eggs cooked exactly as I like them (fried hard - but you'd be surprised how many places get that wrong), toast with creamy butter and sweet plantains. It was so good with the addition of breakfast sausage and steak sauce! This was the "Surfo" breakfast, and I was totally satisfied and ready to trek Manuel Antonio Park. For lunch, I had the shrimp ceviche and chips with frijoles and pico de gallo. It was so fresh and so good. And the service was awesome too! We walked in with coconuts full of juice from a vendor outside. When we finished the coconut juice, he popped out to get them chopped for us so we could enjoy the coconut meat inside. Such a nice touch! I loved it here and will come back if I'm ever around these parts again.

We had seafood platter for two. It had 2 lobster, tuna, 5 pieces of fried, mixed sauted seafood, tuna and a white fish fillet. For sides, we asked for rice, fries and veg. The sides were in not very large in quantity. Rice was not soft. Veg was good but portion size was small. Actual seafood was mixed. Tuna didn’t feel fresh and was a bit tough. Lobster, shrimp, white fish was good. Sauted seafood had too much onions and gravy wasn’t up to mark. All in all not a bad restaurant but not the best either. But a plus was they provided some tortilla chips and beans on house.

The Fringe Umbrella in Manuel Antonio is a charming spot that caters to breakfast, brunch, and lunch. The cozy cafe offers fantastic food and a great ambiance. They also organize special events like sunset beach dinners with bonfires, creating memorable experiences for guests. Despite being temporarily closed for renovations, they still offer services such as umbrella rentals and beach bonfires. Visitors have praised the delicious food options like ceviche, burritos, tacos, avocado toast, green juice, and fresh fruit.
I recently had the pleasure of witnessing a breathtaking sunset with The Fringe Umbrella and I must say, it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I arrived at the beach, I was greeted by the lovely Madelyn who had everything setup for us. The setup was in a secluded part of the beach with the soothing sound of waves and the warm glow of the setting sun. The service provided by Heather and Madelyn was exceptional. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable experience. Whether it was offering refreshments, fruits, food, lighting the bonfire and s'mores. As for the setup and sunset itself, words cannot do justice to the sheer beauty of the scene. The sky was ablaze with hues of orange, pink, and gold, casting a mesmerizing glow over the tranquil waters. It was a moment of serenity and awe-inspiring beauty that will stay with me forever. The beach was clean and semi-private, with ample space for relaxation and enjoyment. In conclusion, my experience with The Fringe Umbrella was nothing short of magical. The service was outstanding, the sunset was breathtaking, and the ambiance was truly unforgettable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a memorable beach experience.

We did a sunset beach dinner and bonfire with a group of people for a birthday celebration and The Fringe made the event so special for the birthday girl. They set us up with blankets and umbrellas and brought the food down to the beach. We had to move a few times due to the high tide, but that only dampened the experience literally, not in any other way. We enjoyed ceviche to start and then had burritos and tacos. The burritos were awesome, some of the best I had. The tacos were good too, but the burritos was where it was at! Hanging out with food and drinks and watching the sunset was really lovely, and the bonfire was a cool experience and attracted a crowd of passerbys who stopped to hang out with us. The Fringe also provided marshmallows for the fire, which was fun. Thanks for a nice sunset dinner and bonfire!

So lucky I found Heather, the team, and The Fringe Umbrella. Heather was very nice and communicative. Planning an event while in another country was very stressful but Heather made it easy! The beach set up was amazing and they were all so friendly. Shoutout to Madelyn for her work on the beach. Very pleased with the outcome of their work!!

Madelyn took care of us. Currently the restaurant is not open, they are making some changes during the down season. However she cooked us tacos, fruit plate, hotdogs, hamburgers, etc. We had a umbrella rental and bonfire. Sadly it rained at the end of the bonfire and we had to run for it, but we still had time to cook the smores on the beach beforehand. Well worth it, our entire group loved the experience. Also the beach bar and lodge next door provided drink service on the beach for us for both this night and the next.

I took my parents there for breakfast. The waiters where super duper slow with everything. After we waited 40min for our juices the 2 sandwiches that we also ordered where finished. So we just took it to go. But boy they where just smacked together. There was no love done to the food . Where super disappointed! For the price we paid it is not worth it at all. Im sorry to say!

Nestled atop the Gaia Hotel & Reserve, La Luna Restaurant offers a remarkable dining experience with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and lush rainforest. The menu features divine specialties like squash and papaya soup, Caribbean Curried chicken, and a selection of international and local cuisine. The attentive service from friendly waiters adds to the impeccable dining experience. With its fantastic ocean view and proximity to Manuel Antonio National Park, this restaurant provides an ideal setting for a romantic dinner.
Lunch was an excellent experience. Service was amazing. The golf cart ride while coming and leaving was so fun. Appetizer was tasty and so was the main dish. The view was so beautiful.

La Luna restaurant is very high quality dining. My husband and I stayed at the Gaia Hotel, and ate breakfast here every day, and dinner most nights of our visit. The menus have a wide selection of choices that suit any diet, and the quality was always excellent. They take pride in their service and the dishes they prepare. In addition to the main menus, they also have a full sushi menu that does not disappoint. And their chocolate lava cake was to die for! Ricardo, Andrey, Brandon and the rest of the staff were amazingly kind and genuine, as was everyone we met while we were there. We felt like family as they welcomed us in by name and remembered our preferences and even our favorite table. The view from the restaurant is surreal and the sunsets are breathtaking! I definitely recommend!

This was one of the best meals and restaurant experiences we had around Manuel Antonio! We were picked up in the parking lot by golf cart and driven up to the restaurant. We watched the sunset over the water and had the most delicious cocktails. The staff were lovely and able to accommodate one gluten-free diet and one vegetarian. We had a great time!

Food was amazing! Only issue is that the service was a little slow. But this was our last night in Costa Rica, so we didn’t mind at all. Watching the sunset was beautiful. The monkeys were cute to watch as well!
John H — Google review
I’m not entirely sure this is the correct location because we went to the rooftop lounge. We originally went to La Luna where we were taken via a golf cart from the parking lot. When we sat down and mentioned to the server that we’d just be having a drink, he told us we would enjoy the rooftop lounge and he took us there. This server was amazing, he took us there and then passed our drink order along to the server at the lounge. The lounge was outdoors with a roof. There was also a little garden section where we were informed they grow their own veg. The drinks we had were delicious but very overpriced. We paid $32 for 2 drinks which was the most we spent on 2 drinks in Costa Rica. It was worth it for the experience as there were panoramic views, so stunning and would be lovely at sunset. The bartender showed us a tree right nearby that a couple of macaws often chill in though we didn’t get to see them

No words can describe how amazing and delicious the food was! My fiancé and I came here for breakfast, lunch and dinner during our 2 week stay in Costa Rica. The staff is incredibly friendly and every meal was delicious. I think the breakfast was my favorite. They offered delicious breads, coffee, juice and fresh fruit with your choice of a meal. And the view was incredible, rain or shine!
Meagan P — Google review
We didn’t stay at the hotel but came specifically for La Luna because it was highly recommended. By the time we were seated at 7:30 and got our appetizers and drinks it was 8:30pm, it felt like they forgot about us or the staff was definitely overwhelmed. The food tasted fresh but the seasoning was off, we got the two most recommended plates and the fish was so salty we had to send it back. The pasta tasted alright but honestly, it’s like going to a chain restaurant in the US but paying top dollar for it. The two appetizers we got were better than the main courses. I wouldn’t say you’re missing much if you decide to skip this restaurant.

The Shana Hotels Resort in Manuel Antonio is a luxury hotel that overlooks the Pacific Ocean with an outdoor pool, beach access and a full bar. The hotel also offers complimentary breakfast, which makes it a great spot for families or couples looking to relax after exploring the surrounding area.
This is the place to be if you want to have one foot in the jungle and one foot on the beach. It has the best of both worlds. The resort is very well maintained, the staff is outstanding, there are monkeys everywhere. Buffet breakfast is delicious, the pools are amazing. Nothing to consoling about. We had the best time and we were only few minutes from Manuel Antonio park, and zip line and other activities. Would totally recommend this place for the price and quality of services and amenities ! Let’s add that people From Costa Rica are so wonderful, welcoming and so kind.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Shana Hotel in Costa Rica. From start to finish, the entire staff made us feel welcome, safe, and cared for. Everyone was so kind and attentive, and we are truly grateful for their hospitality. We would like to give special thanks to Yasminy and Javier from the hotel restaurant. They served us during breakfast each morning with such warmth, professionalism, and friendliness. Their smiles and thoughtful service made the start of every day extra special for our family. Thank you to all the staff at Shana Hotel for making our trip unforgettable
Tiago R — Google review
We stayed 3 nights in a standard ocean view room at Shana by the Beach. The room was smaller than the family suites, but the view was amazing. Every morning we had wildlife right outside our balcony. A sloth hung out in the tree next to our balcony each day, squirrel monkeys showed up around 8am, and capuchins came by in the late afternoon. They’ll be on both the balcony and by the pool (they’ll walk right up to your balcony and right above you at the restaurant/pool). The hotel has two pools (one adults-only), and access to a small private beach. Just note the beach can get busy and chair rentals with shade are about $20 for two. Location is about 15 minute drive to Manuel Antonio National Park. What really stood out was the staff. Kevin and the gentleman from Tunisia (front desk), restaurant, everyone we met was genuinely kind, funny, and helpful. The front desk was quick to find solutions, and the restaurant team made every meal easy and enjoyable. Golf cart rides are available if you need help with the hill. Only small downside: walls are thin, so you will likely hear neighbors. Overall though, we loved our stay and would absolutely recommend it
Jordan N — Google review
The rooms were ok but this review is about the spa I appreciate that the spa fit me in last minute and offered a steep discount for guests, but they should never advertise facials if the staff aren’t actually trained to do them. Even for $70 before tip, it was a waste of money. The service began with about 20 minutes of face washing—first with a cleanser, then with a cleansing scrub—followed by endless rubbing with small sponges and tapping. My skin felt raw. When I asked about steam, she said there wasn’t any. She left for several minutes, then returned with scorching-hot towels that she placed awkwardly on my face. Then she left for about 5–7 minutes to get cucumbers, came back, and started placing loads of them all over my face and even my chest. While the cucumbers were on, she began massaging my feet and legs, but never actually found any pressure points—it was more just light stroking up and down. There was no neck, head, or shoulder massage like most facials include, which made the whole experience feel even more incomplete. The third time she left, she placed tissues over my eyes and a mask on my skin, but by then it had been about an hour and I just couldn’t continue. I wiped my face off, added moisturizer, and left. To her credit, she was very kind and truly seemed to be trying her best—but this felt like false advertising more than anything. They should really remove facials from their menu if they’re not trained or equipped to offer them.
Tammy F — Google review
Overall had a great experience. The top pros: pools, view, staff, restaurant, and beach access make this place great. The only major negative is that the hotel is literally set on the side of a steep hill which required climbing up and down constantly. The monkeys visited the balconies each morning. Breakfast was great and did have a omelette station.
Alex B — Google review
I had carefully reviewed several 5 star hotels before deciding to book Shana by the Beach Manuel Antonio. Unfortunately, this was a major disappointment. Upon arrival, I was informed by the front desk that there was daily construction happening every morning. This was never disclosed online at the time of booking. When I raised this issue, the staff told me they had already informed Expedia to post a notice. That’s not the customer’s responsibility it’s the hotel’s duty to ensure transparency. Despite acknowledging the problem, no compensation or meaningful solution was offered. The room itself was far from what one would expect from a 5-star property. The faucet was loose and wobbly, the room had a dense, unpleasant smell, and the overall condition felt outdated and poorly maintained. It was clear that the property has not been properly cleaned or refreshed for some time. Between the constant noise, lack of disclosure, and substandard room quality, I would honestly rate this hotel as a 3 star at best. I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting a true 5-star resort experience.

Had such an amazing honeymoon at Shana by the Beach! The staff was amazing and super friendly. We had an excursion booked prior to our visit but was able to switch it upon arrival with the help of Johnny. The monkeys made us laugh and it was also really neat to see some toucans, macaws, and a sloth! The spa was fantastic and relaxing! The views are spectacular and the beach was wonderful as well! We will definitely visit again!

Namaste Indian Restaurant in Manuel Antonio is a popular spot for those craving authentic Indian cuisine. The restaurant offers a beautiful decor and stunning ocean views, making it an ideal setting to enjoy delicious food. Diners have raved about the Paneer Tikka, Mix Vegetable Khadhai, Butter Naan, Coconut Lassi, Salted Lassi, and Paneer Angare Tikka. The Chicken Tikka Masala has also been highlighted for its exceptional taste.
Absolutely! Here’s the revised review with that detail included: ⸻ A Taste of India in Costa Rica – Even Impressed a New Yorker! As someone from New York, where we’re spoiled with amazing international cuisine, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Indian food in Costa Rica. But Namaste Indian Restaurant completely amazed me! I ordered the Lasooni Chicken, Lamb Seekh Kebabs, and Angara Paneer as starters, and every single dish was bursting with rich, authentic flavors. The Lasooni Chicken had the perfect garlicky punch, the Lamb Seekh Kebabs were tender and expertly spiced, and the Angara Paneer was smoky, fiery, and absolutely delicious. What really stood out was that the food was clearly made with love and passion. You can feel the heart and soul behind every dish—it’s not just about good ingredients, but the care and authenticity that went into preparing them. Even coming from New York, this meal left a lasting impression. Namaste Indian Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone craving real Indian food in Costa Rica. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m here! I wish I can give more than 5 stars

Last night, my wife and I had an exceptional dining experience at Namaste Indian Restaurant, our first time trying Indian cuisine. Our server, Rabi, was outstanding. His suggestions were spot-on, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Rabi was attentive and ensured our needs were met throughout the meal. The entire staff was warm, welcoming, and made us feel truly valued. We highly recommend Namaste Indian Restaurant—you won’t be disappointed!

This is Indian Soulfood Heaven! On our journeys we tried a lot of Indian restaurants. This is by far one of the best we’ve ever been to! The service is very professional and speaks perfectly English, too. We were asked about how spicy we wish our food to be, which was very attentive. The food itself was excellent and and a delicious flavour explosion! I had the Saag Paneer and my partner the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Mango Juice was freshly made and styed cool in the cups served. The dessert we took was the plate with all the desserts available - so delicious! We will come back here and can absolutely highly recommend this great place. You can also see the ocean a little bit. The restaurant is located a bit away from the Main Street, which is really nice. It is upstairs - the stairs to Soulfood Heaven!

Restaurante Marlin is a must-visit dining spot with efficient and friendly staff. The food, including calamari, ceviche, grilled sea bass wrapped in banana leaf, fried red snapper, and shrimp pasta, was all delicious. The service is prompt and friendly with super cold beer available. The nachos are a unique take on the classic dish but tasty nonetheless.
I had an amazing lunch at Marlin Restaurant! The breaded fish and shrimp plate was fantastic, crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The view was breathtaking, adding to the whole experience. Pleasantly surprised! I was a bit worry it would be a touristy place because of the gentleman on the street, trying to attract customers, but I was very wrong. I walked by this restaurant multiple times, and every single time they had people working hard to sell the place, so I caved and went in. The food was honestly really great. I went during dinner when there were only 3 other small tables already dining and I got a great service, food took a while to arrive but that’s just Costa Rica. Everyone was friendly and they checked on me multiple times to refill my drink and to see if I wanted anything else. By the time I sat down and received my entree there was a couple who received the complete opposite treatment. They were essentially ignored after the entire time. Once they finally worked up the courage to flag a server down for their checks it took more than 15 mins. This wouldn’t be an issue but there were 5 servers standing behind the couple’s table laughing and chatting up while the couple looked visibly frustrated. (Now I don’t know what happened prior to my arriving, i noted this so that you are aware that service may vary) I ordered the calamari appetizer and the Seafood fried rice. Both tastes fresh and good! The seafood rice only had shrimp and scallops with one mussels, for the price I would’ve wanted more variety and larger portions. The side of fries didn’t taste fresh or hot. Its a good place but nothing is peaking my interest to return again.

Victoria's Gourmet Italian Restaurant is a family-owned establishment known for its exceptional Italian cuisine, particularly its delicious pizza. The restaurant provides a welcoming atmosphere that makes diners feel right at home. In addition to their mouthwatering dishes, they also offer early bird specials for patrons to take advantage of.
I have been wanting to eat here for 6 years and I was able to finally coordinate a reservation into our busy trip. It was worth the wait! The service is beyond inviting and courteous, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere had a relaxing peaceful beauty. The cost is a slightly a bit higher than most restaurants in the area and they are a cashless business, so if you eat there be prepared with proper form of payment.

The food here was really good — flavorful and well-prepared — but unfortunately the service didn’t match. Once a larger party came in, we were pretty much ignored, which was disappointing. We ended up leaving and went elsewhere for dessert and drinks. Great food, but the service experience could definitely be improved.

We felt in Italy. 🇮🇹 we recently dined at Victoria’s Gourmet Restaurant and gave it 5 stars. The food and service was truly impressive. The pizza was particularly delicious, and Victoria’s 🍕 . The guy our server, was attentive and made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend Victoria’s Gourment Italian Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Italian meal.

Probably the Worst Service for Tourists in Costa Rica – Stay Away!! We had one of the most disappointing dining experiences of our trip at this restaurant on the night of Mar 24, around 7pm. Our family of three was met with what can only be described as the worst service we encountered in Costa Rica. The waitress offered us only two seating options: one outside facing the street (dark, no view, and constantly disrupted by car headlights), and the other inside, placed right next to the blazing pizza oven — arguably the hottest and most uncomfortable spot in the entire restaurant. On a hot night with no air conditioning inside, this felt more like a punishment than hospitality. And why? Because we didn’t have a reservation. Ironically, the restaurant was largely empty, with plenty of open tables throughout the space. It seemed like we were deliberately being treated poorly — as if being walk-ins gave them the right to shove us into the worst possible spot. (See attached photo — you can clearly see how empty it was.) The food? Just average — nothing memorable, and certainly not worth the price. Our bill for three regular dinner meals was ~$120, and for the same price in the U.S., you'd get far better food and service. To anyone visiting this area: don’t waste your evening here. They clearly don’t care about customer experience — especially if you’re a tourist. In fact, the whole vibe felt like they were just trying to get your money because they assume you’ll never come back. Luckily, every other restaurant we visited in the following days was so much better — in food, service, and atmosphere. Save your night — go anywhere else!!

Our one night out splurge! ! Great service (we thought) attentive and the food tasty! Ot wasn’t until the next morning I notice the check hand handwritten additions, as well as another service charge (tip) very disappointed that it happened. We were in SJO when I looked at the ticket. Shame on me.. Shame in them, tourists keeps businesses alive! $$$

Wonderful restaurant located just across the street from Tulemar Resort. The service was excellent, friendly and very attentive. We ate there a couple times during our stay. We enjoyed the octopus carpaccio and Victoria’s dynamite shrimp for appetizers. Both were very tasty. For our meal we chose a variety of items to share. First, the jumbo shrimp and spicy sausage pasta. This was an amazing, flavorful dish! Second, the pesto chicken and spicy pepperoni with white sauce. I wasn’t sure about white sauce on a pizza, but this was truly fantastic. Lastly, we enjoyed a cappuccino and the tiramisu for desert. The flavor was excellent.

This was a great dinner spot with delicious food and a nice atmosphere. Highly recommend making a reservation since there are not many tables and seems they have a high volume of large parties, even on weekdays. For drinks, we got the red sangria which was yummy and had pretty garnish. The service was great, kind and quick service for the food. We were served a small garlic knot for bread, it was warm and the perfect amount to prevent us from spoiling our meals. The kitchen is very open which allows for an intimate experience with the food, the smells fill the restaurant. My brother had the special of the night, a lobster and shrimp ravioli in pink sauce which was amazing. The pizzas were delicious and both the sausage and pepperoni were flavorful. The seared ahi tuna appetizer with chipotle sauce was good and enough service for a meal. The tiramisu was good, but ultimately could be better. Overall it was a great dining experience! We highly recommend this place for a tasty and elegant meal at a reasonable price.

Stopped by for a late lunch in early November and had the place to ourselves! The service was top notch - everyone was prompt, polite, and friendly. We enjoyed the complimentary rolls, which came out warm with an oil dipping sauce and were very good! We tried the shrimp and spaghetti and meatballs and both were great! The plates were creatively decorated and the food was nicely presented. We were told to try the pizza, but the oven was being worked on so we'll have to try that on our next visit!

Barba Roja Restaurante is a beachfront spot with a stunning view of the ocean. The restaurant offers a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, with inviting tables overlooking the water. Guests can enjoy live music while savoring delicious dishes such as sushi rolls, chicken wraps, and vegan options like spring rolls and veggie burgers. The beautiful sunset can be admired from the bar area during happy hour, where visitors can indulge in drinks and large portions of flavorful food.
Chairs is not very comfortable. View is pretty good. Happy our btw 4 and 6 pm, but only for seven drinks.... Anyway, we weren't there for drinks. Service is friendly and quick. The sushi is OUTSTANDING! One of the best we have ever had. Ceviche is good, but could have a bit more power. The pork ribs at the end were delicious, but I doubt you will make it alone....

This restaurant had a great view over the coast. The sun sets right across from it. There are also three Macaus that have nests very nearby, so they were flying around and above the restaurant the entire evening. Definitely a great place to be at sunset. The food and drinks were also very good, and good music playing. I would definitely go back there and recommend it for anyone wanting a nice evening.

Went here for the sunset. Beautiful sunset! Sit in the bar area for the sunset. Have happy hour drinks (but only drinks, not beers). For dinner I had the Vegano roll sushi (vegan sushi). It was really good! But it does have sugar in it, and that is probably why it tasted so good. Large portions.

I stopped here for a beer and sat in the front of the bar, so I wasn’t inside. The restaurant part looked inviting with tables overlooking the ocean with a spectacular view. The lady that served me was nice enough and the atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. Last night we had dinner here and it was excellent. We shared a Sushi roll of tuna, shrimp, crab, avocado and rice. It was excellent! We then shared a chicken wrap that was very good. The atmosphere is really nice and colorful, and they had live music. You can sit near the music or further away in the bar area, which is very nice as well.

First of all, the view is beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous. We were able to watch two parrots who landed in the trees near the restaurant while we ate. Secondly, I really appreciated that they had a few marked vegan options for me to choose from. I got the spring rolls and the veggie burger. Both were okay but not great which is the only reason I wouldn’t give 5 stars. The burger was deep fried which I didn’t expect and that in combo with the fries left me feeling heavy and greasy, but still satisfied my hunger. My boyfriend got the Buffalo wings and said they were amazing. His main dish was pasta which he also said was just okay.

While looking up different places to to dine near our hotel I saved this one. I’m so glad we got to come here and have dinner. They have amazing views of the sunset, such a nice vibe and friendly staff. We showed up for happy hour and were pleasantly surprised by the great deal, and the very yummy cocktail! We ordered the fish tacos and coconut shrimp. Both were so amazing! Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner.

We have come here twice now. Great views and quick service. The staff is welcoming and patient with Spanish as a second language speakers. Tuesdays are 2 for 1 burger specials and happy hour drink specials daily 2 for 1 until 7pm. Their taxes and service fee is 23%. Nice bathrooms!

Had an amazing meal here and with exceptional service by Omar our server. We ordered the tuna appetizer seared that was seasoned perfectly, the sirloin with portobellos and blue cheese, and the chicken breast with sun dried tomatoes. Everything was so delicious and beautifully presented overlooking the gorgeous Manuel Antonio bay. For dessert we had the pineapple tart with coconut ice cream which was one of the best desserts I have ever tasted. Omar our server was the best. He was attentive and offered helpful information on the areas activities. The dining terrace offers exceptional views, and the ambience is both inviting and peaceful. They even had a lovely live guitar singer in the bar. Overall we had an amazing dinner and would definitely recommend.

The prices are slightly on the higher end but IMO they are super worth it. The staff is very caring and friendly, order was prepared super fast, the restaurant has a fantastic sunset view. The food is really good! Fresh fish, creative dishes, all little sauces match the dish and even the lobster had a very rich taste to it. I highly recommend this place, all negative reviews are like 3+ years ago, today this place is awesome.

A very pleasent restaurant. Prices high, but the food was very good. We ordered medium Tenderloin, and it came at least medium well (if not more). Except this, everything was very nice. Main downside is the high prices, that I feel aren't very justified. Chicken breast was excellent!

One of the best dining experiences I've had in Costa Rica. Jason our server went above and beyond to ensure our meal was to satisfaction. After being ripped off on our drinks at the hotel we stayed at, this restaurant gave us our money's value with delicious food, and refreshing and great crafted cocktails

Omar and staff were outstanding and managed the restaurant without running water because of a broken water main into the city. We ate Mahi Mahi and Tuna, both cooked to perfection. Ended dinner with the Chocolate Banana tart. Last note… the table next to us caught a yellow fin and the chef cooked the fish for them, same day! Great experience!

We had a strong desire for tasty Indian cuisine following our extended stay in CR and stumbled upon Hola India. To our delight, it exceeded all expectations and satisfied our cravings perfectly! The quality of the food was comparable to top-notch Indian restaurants found in NYC, and the service added an extra touch to make our visit truly memorable. We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to chat with Chef Rohit after our meal. If you happen to be in Manuel Antonio, a trip to this restaurant is definitely worthwhile!
Honestly, not only was this the best meal of our vacation, but it was also the best Indian food we’ve ever had! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the sweetest woman who truly went above and beyond for us—you can tell she cares so much about this place. She even surprised us with a free mango dessert after our meal, which was such a thoughtful touch. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming (even without the sweeping views some Quepos restaurants have), and the food absolutely speaks for itself. The butter chicken and chicken korma were hands down the best I’ve ever had, and my wife absolutely loved her paneer dish. Everything was rich, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. An absolute must-visit in Quepos—fantastic food, wonderful people, and an unforgettable experience!

My visit to Hola India Manuel Antonio was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The service was truly excellent—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. We felt appreciated as customers the moment we walked in. The food was superb. Everything we ordered was incredibly flavorful, fresh, and perfectly spiced. It's easily some of the best Indian cuisine I've had in a long time. The ambiance is great too; the restaurant has a very pleasant and comfortable atmosphere that made for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. To top it all off, they brought us ice cream on the house as a lovely, thoughtful gesture. It was a very nice detail that truly made us feel valued. Overall, we felt very welcome and well taken care of. If you are in the area and looking for a top-tier dining experience with amazing food and wonderful people, Hola India Manuel Antonio is a must-try!

We stumbled upon Hola Indian Restaurant during our stay in Manuel Antonio and were so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious — rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, which had just the right balance of flavor and spice and my wife had the Lamb Korma, which was tender and packed with creamy and sweet flavor. We did ask for the Korma to be made with coconut and Alex (our waiter) gladly noted it in the order. Both dishes were served with basmati rice and the best Garlic naan we’ve ever had!! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and Alex made us feel right at home. If you’re craving something different from the typical beach-town fare, this spot is a must-visit. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine in Costa Rica!

After a week in Vacation we were craving Indian food, I wasn’t quite sure but was pleasantly surprised by how tasty and authentic the food was. We ordered, Chilli chicken which was my daughter’s favorite. The Paneer Kulcha and Chicken tikka masala didn’t disappoint. The chicken Biriyani is not the best or close to the Dum Biriyani but quite okay. The Raita the chutney were really good. Definitely a good spot for some really good flavors.

Gabriella's Steak Seafood & Pasta is an upscale dining spot in Quepos, Costa Rica, offering a beautiful marina view. The restaurant has received mixed reviews, with some customers raving about the appetizers and shrimp and sausage pasta. The menu prices are around $60 per person. Nearby, the Gaia Hotel and Reserve is a luxurious 5-star boutique resort nestled in the Manuel Antonio jungle.
We are locals who absolutely love dining at Gabriella’s. Though there are many fine restaurants in the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area, Gabriella’s is always our first choice. We are always assured of wonderful, delicious food, and the service is A+. Mark and Gladys’ team and the fine food they serve consistently guarantee a wonderful dining experience.
William B — Google review
Honestly, the food is average and a bit overpriced. Although, I will say that if I would have gone just for the appetizers I’d say this place is a 10/10, because the Ceviche in the pics was one of the best I’ve ever tried. Main courses were just not good enough, fish quite bland and pasta way overcooked for a place charging around $30 per dish. Place is very expensive compared to other options in the area which offer a better cost to quality ratio, expect to pay about $60 per person (~35k colones). Seafood was quite fresh. Service is quite good we ordered a dish that had an unusual taste and they didn’t hesitate to change it.

Very nice restaurant on the marina. I had dinner here my first night in Quepos and the food, service and atmosphere was great. Even though the sun had set already, there was still a great view of the marina. They were playing live Italian music I think while I was there which was a great touch. I got the shrimp and sausage pasta as recommended by my waiter and it was delicious. I ate the leftovers the next day and it was still good! I will definitely visit this restaurant again when I come back and highly recommend it if your in the area and want more of a fine dining experience.

Excellent food and service with an impressive view, but you're paying for it! The old adage you get what you pay for is 100% true at Gabriella's. Our dinner for 2 was over $100 for us (I'm not sure if I've ever spent that on a meal for 2), but it was worth it. Definitely not for a quick cheap bite, but if you're looking for that fancy dinner splurge or are consistently a high roller, this is an excellent choice. Dixon was our waiter and was very attentive and exactly what you expect at a high end establishment. We ordered the wow wow shrimp appetizer (highly recommend), the octopus (recommend - but it's very filling), and the lobster tails (highly recommend). Food and service were excellent.

El Lagarto is a renowned steakhouse with a spectacular view and an impressive wood-burning grill. It offers high-quality meats sourced from animals raised naturally in the foothills of Volcan Arenal, free from hormones and chemicals. The restaurant's unique decor features wooden furnishings and mosaic-designed floors, creating a warm ambiance. Guests can enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean while savoring delicious grilled meats, fresh seafood, and locally sourced fish.
We stayed at the lodge next to this and opted to try out the restaurant (20% off for lodge guests). We were a little hesitant because of the prices, but the food was so insanely good that it was 100% worth it. Everything is cooked in a wood fired oven / on a grill over hot charcoals and it’s open to the restaurant so you can watch them cook. Our drinks were good (I had the watermelon ‘juice’ and it was my favorite drink so far), and all of the food was delicious. Shrimp cocktail, meat plate, and jumbo shrimp. However, the true standout was dessert, specifically the brownie. I took a bite and was blown away. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think it was the best dessert I’ve ever had - my boyfriend agreed as well. Just randomly the most delicious dessert ever. The views are beautiful as well - we came after sunset but had a chance to see what it looked like when we had checked into the lodge. If you’re willing to spend the money then it’s 100% worth it.
Kendal F — Google review
The sunset view at this restaurant is gorgeous, but be sure to make a reservation in advance—when we arrived as walk-ins, all the tables with the best views were already reserved. Since we hadn’t had lunch earlier that day, we decided to go all in for dinner, and it was definitely worth it. The steaks are what truly make this place stand out. We ordered the tenderloin and the ribeye, and both were juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. One surprise was how delicious the vegetables were. The zucchinis and tomatoes were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The baked potatoes, however, didn’t quite hit the mark—they were unevenly cooked, with some potatoes flavorful and others a bit bland. Watching the chefs grill the food right in front of you added a fun and engaging element to the experience. Overall, it was an excellent meal that lived up to our expectations for a memorable feast.
Annie V — Google review
Excellent place to have a really nice and good dinner. If you can try to be there or make a reservation for the sunset. We missed the sunset but the food experience was amazing. I had the seafood special, which was stuffed squib ( not a piece of squib, the WHOLE squib), shrimps, and other seafood on it. It comes with fresh grill tomato, baked potato, and zucchini. You can see on the picture that it was no joke. My wife got the Beef tenderloin, which also comes with Bake potatoes, tomato and zucchini. All plates are made right there in front of you and with wood. The smell is so amazing. Strongly recommended if you come to this area in Manuel Antonio. I even recommend that skip your hotel restaurant and come here. We spend a little more in our resort and the food at this restaurant is by far better. They food for everyone taste. Sorry that my pictures of the menu came out blurry. Also, if you pay with credit card, ask for pay in Colones which is the Costa Rica money. Most of the time the change with your card is better.

Kinsey A — Google review
The food is good. The views can be amazing if it doesn't rain. I have 2 negatives; 1 . The kids meal options are more like options for picky adults. Not for kids. 2. The prices are insane. They take extreme advantage of being in a tourist area. The food is good, don't get me wrong, but a $30 margarita??? Come on. We enjoyed our dinner and the wood stove smells divine. If you go, just prepare to overpay for a good - not great - meal.

We had dinner here twice with family. It’s wonderful to benefit from Bill’s extensive knowledge of the area, especially to find great restaurants in another country. The steaks are amazing! It's a funky restaurant once you walk in with bottles as chandeliers and 2 levels. They have local musicians playing on the lower level that entertain which liven up the atmosphere at night. The menu is diverse, with many options for seafood lovers and steak eaters. The food was fresh, decent portion but average and a bit expensive. The food comes very quickly, however, it is low season right now, and there weren't many people in the restaurant. Most, if not all the waiters speak both English and Spanish and the ones working the floor are very friendly. Overall, a great place for dining with a group.

Amazing restaurant! Food was delicious and portions were huge. I had pork ribs - they were melting in my mouth, so tender and full of flavour. My partner had a "meat taster mix plate" and it was incredible - each type of meat was cooked to perfection and the huge portion was so satisfying. There was live music, beautiful decor, friendly attentive waiters - the atmosphere was so good I wish we discovered the restaurant earlier on our trip so that we can come again and again! Our waiter, Brendan was very efficient, friendly and helpful - I could also observe him looking after "kids table" next to us with great respect and kindness to little kids. That was such a nice touch!

The owner and chef, Avatar, takes pride in preparing authentic Indian dishes such as beef vindaloo and butter chicken with care and passion. Guests are greeted with friendly service and can enjoy the well-decorated dining area. The restaurant also offers a unique experience with the owner playing the saxophone for guests while they dine.
We've been in Costa Rica for a few weeks now and we were ready for a change of food. We love Indian food back home (Colorado, USA), so it was a good choice. The food was great! Open at 3pm...after our 5-hr hike in the park. The dining area was well decorated and welcoming. Good food with the amount of spicy we like. The owner came chatting and played saxophone for us. Lots of wild animals too: 2 agouti, lots and lots of squirrel monkeys passing through and 2 scarlet macaw. Almost better than the Manuel Antonio park! Highly recommended!

A decent spot for Indian cuisine. The price here was pretty solid for the portions, but I just wasn’t wowed by anything in particular. It was pretty standard Indian food. The venue itself was beautiful and was very cool in having a pool just outside the dining area. Overall, a decent choice if you’re in the mood for Indian.

I never do reviews unless it's exceptionally good, or extremely terrible. And this is one place you WILL NOT WANT TO MISS. My friends and I have lived all over the world and enjoyed Indian food from all corners of it, but this is by far the best we have all ever had and we don't say this lightly. We found this place by accident while driving by and this turned out to be the highlight of our quick trip to Quepos/MA. From the second we walked in, we could feel and smell the authenticity of this place as the owner greets you with a smile. Once we received the bright beautiful menu full of every authentic indian dish, it was nearly impossible to decide which dishes to try, so we ordered three of our favorites and shared. Beef vindaloo, butter chicken and a lamb dish (which unfortunately, I can't remember the name, but see the pictures) along with 2 orders of perfectly cooked basmati rice and the best garlic naan I've ever had. All of our mouths were exploding with flavors that we can't even begin to describe. The atmosphere was almost as good as the food, with authentic Indian decor. If at any point you're bored of the beautiful view of the ocean, then turn around in your seat to watch the eye drawing Indian music videos playing in the background. The owner took care of us throughout the entire meal, explaining his processes of cooking and how he gets his authentic spices here in Costa rica, which if you live here you understand this isn't an easy task. He is clearly a man who takes pride in his cooking and his restaurant and has every reason to do so. He told us he longed for a simpler life doing what he loved; cooking the most amazing food with love, and he seems to have found it here. This is a can't-miss restaurant! If you are in the area, make sure you take the time to stop and enjoy a meal here. You will not be disappointed! I have lived in Costa Rica for 3 years and I have yet to leave a review on a single restaurant I've dined at nor has there been a restaurant here in Costa Rica that gets me excited to go out to eat to, except for this one. Go on now, and treat yourself to this amazing food.

Great Ambiance and Food! I have traveled to multiple Indian restaurants in Costa Rica, which was by far the Best Restaurant! The chief made the Paneer dishes so soft and tasty! fresh with local ingredients and authentic-ly deliciously!

We went here Feb 1, 2024. My husband's birthday. Didn't plan to go to Indian. just passing by and saw it. it was my idea to go although my husband loves Indian food, not I. but I was very happy. I loved the food! I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Tikka masala, lamb biryani, and garlic Nan. everything was fresh, authentic and delicious!

#1 favorite restaurant in Quepos. If I were stranded on a deserted island and only had one choice of food for the rest of my life it would be Love Indian Cuisine’s Avatar Chicken. The owner, Avatar, said it was a special recipe he cooked up- it’s evident that cooking Indian food is Avatars passion. Tasty samosas, perfect raita, smiley service and the hallmark garish lights and Indian decor and music- this place does not miss a beat. We went twice in our six days in the area. If you like Indian food even a little bit, this is the place!!!🥘🇮🇳🍚🍛🫓🐘🐘🐘

Amazing view of the ocean as we sat down at the restaurant. Great many vegetarian options - and the taste was really authentic. Loved the paneer butter masala and jeera rice. The menu was extensive and had loads of options!

Restaurant
La Lambretta Pizzería, located in Manuel Antonio, offers a stunning coastal view and specializes in serving authentic Italian wood-fired pizzas. The unique flavor of their pizzas is achieved through the use of wood-fired ovens. Situated on the edge of a jungle with an elevated position above the tree line, this restaurant provides an incredible dining experience with a picturesque backdrop. Guests can enjoy delicious pizzas such as Italian and meat lover options while being treated to quick and friendly service.
Food was excellent. The pizzas were big and tasted great. The cheese was flavorful. Got the coconut flan for dessert and it was so rich and creamy. All of the food came fast. The atmosphere was also amazing as there was an ocean view. If you want to eat tasty pizza, this would be a wonderful place.

Wonderful pizza! Breathtaking view on the ocean. Doesn't get better than that! Friendly staff and wonderful service. Try the desserts as well. Approved!

We stopped here after a day on the beach and we were pleasantly surprised to see the stunning view from our dining table. We ordered pizza and a calzone. The Calzone is HUGE! It was delicious! We also had two pizzas and a refreshing Cesar salad. We will definitely return when we visit again.

No matter how busy you are Italian place should know that you can’t burn the crust. Great prices. Only a few tables for 4+ people with the view. Great value if you just looking for docent place to eat.

GLUTEN FREE YUM!!! I got the four cheese and my husband got the supreme, both on gluten free, and they were phenomenal. Like, could not tell they were gluten free. Perfect texture, NOT a previously frozen crust, the edges were uneven so definitely handmade! The sauce was delicious. The cheese was yum. There was an extra $1.50 charge for gluten free, but coming from the states, that’s amazingly reasonable. The pizzas apparently have their own spots in the oven and dedicated utensils. The waiter was also thrilled to tell me that they have gluten free beer! Very cool! Service was great. We’ll be back!

This place has one of the best pizzas that I have ever ad in my life. We got a recommendation from a worker at our hotel come here, and we will definitely recommend this to other people. The workers are so funny and nice. We also had a nice conversation with Eric, our waiter, who was very nice and funny.

Great pizza and great service. Our wonderful server, Eric, gave me a few Spanish tips while we enjoyed our tasty dinner. We saw a dozen monkeys in the distance and multiple macaws flying overhead as we ate. The pizza is Italian style, and the capricciosa was my favorite out of three. The natural juices were very good and blended with ice, making them particularly refreshing on a hot day.

Nice views but wow is it overpriced ($20+ for a personal sized pizza). Lots of pizza topping options, just feels like a tourist trap.

The ambiance is beautiful and inviting, perfect for enjoying their creative cocktails—especially the floral spritzer crafted with care.
Beautiful view with 1 wall open to the view. Very high quality service from staff and excellent food. It was incredibly empty and quiet when we went but perhaps due to it being Tuesday or the pricing. Dinner, 1 drink and dessert for 2 was >75,000 colons so it is a high premium price but equally high quality and we loved it.

Whole baked fish was delicious. It came with sautéed potatoes. It had a chocolate sauce underneath the fish. It worked well with the papas but not with the fish. I ordered the Tiramisu but what actually came was rich chocolate mouse on top of heavy sponge. No cream in sight. Disappointing.

So glad we found this place on our visit to Manuel Antonio! If you are looking for a well curated menu and creative gastronomy then definitely plan a visit to KAROLAS! We had dinner and breakfast here. The restaurant is open to the outside air and sounds (large covered area). The food was great, fresh seafood sourced locally. Entertainment one night (local dance group). The picture isn't the best; fresh fish, black beans and vegetables.

We went for their sunset dinner mainly for the possible animals rather than the food, but we ended up enjoying the food, which was a pleasent surprise. The restaurant is located in a hotel, but has the prettiest view of the sunset, i recommend to get there an hour or more before the sunset, as our server told us we were able to order our drinks and go explore for a little bit, come back and order our food just to go and explore. We explored a lot, went up and down, there's a trail (that we did not do), the pool deck also has a beautiful view for the sunset. The dinner was great, good food, good everything. A mix of meat dishes, pasta dishes, and fish dishes, and none of us had any complaints. Coffee was cool, but not American strong coffee (but also we haven't found any better coffee's around here so this was the best one so far). The servers were great, friendly, new how to take good photos, most of the servers spoke good english, we were all able to communicate greatly, only thing, just a little bit slow, but it turned out great anyway. The server did tell us that the macaws fly around in the morning or afternoon, and toucans only in the morning, we saw these cute little rodent things running around, the macaws flying and hanging out - although i will warn, macaws do not make a pretty sound - but for what time we went, it turned out pretty good!

After a long day of hiking it was so much fun to go out for a great local meal. We started off by entering the hotel parking gate and had easy free parking. The outdoor patio was quiet and romantic. I had the best cocktail I’ve ever had (gin sour) and my dinner was amazing! We even ordered dessert - pineapple flambe! Highly recommend!!!
Hannah F — Google review
Friendly service. Delicious food. Creative cocktails. We came here for dinner. Parked in hotel/resprt parking for free (tell the person working security at the gate that you’re going to the restaurant). From the parking lot, the restaurant is a short walk down the driveway and to the right. It wasn’t super busy, and we got sat at a table right away. We ordered whatever drink special they had (some floral spritzer), and it was delicious. A little on the sweet side (which is my preference anyways). Most other people were drinking wine. My partner got a chicken and rice dish, and I was hoping for red snapper (they were out), but ended up getting another fish dish that came with shrimp, mussels, and calamari. Fish was cooked perfectly along with everything else on the plate. Whatever playlist they had playing was the perfect vibe (some chill progressive house/tropical house playlist). Our waiters were very attentive and friendly. Definitely come here for a date night or fancy dinner with friends.

This restaurant had a beautiful atmosphere. The jungle encompasses the area without being too strong. The food was phenomenal and you could truly taste the quality. The restaurant was sophisticated due to the resort's atmosphere. Overall a great place for a fancy dinner.

We ate breakfast here twice while staying at the hotel - and we enjoyed our Thanksgiving dinner here as well. The breakfast was great with a fruit bowl coming out before the meal. Dinner was nice too and we were all happy with our food. Only complaint is that there was a bit of septic smell that would come and go - but the staff was trying to mask the smell with incense that didn't quite cover the stench.
Ryan A — Google review
Beautiful atmosphere, great service. Food was ok - lomo with the spicy tagliatelle: beef tasted good and was tender in a tangy soy but the pasta wasn’t spicy at all, gallina chicken dish was the very good and unique, shrimp and fish duo were under seasoned and underwhelming, and chicken with balsamic had a nice sweet balsamic reduction sauce but breast was bit dry (would have been better brined or marinaded to made it juicy.) A good option for variety in the area. Smoothies were good price but bit too much water and the glass was shaped so the drink was small and the straw was not long enough and kept sinking into the drink.

We ate here three times while visiting Costa Rica. Everything is delicious! Especially the tuna tar tar, taco trio, sea duo, tuna pesto risotto and surf and turf. Shout out to Daniella, Monica, and Andre for the great and friendly service!

We had an amazing dining experience at Medusa Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. We especially loved the Chef’s Cut— it was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The tuna tartar was incredibly fresh and well-balanced, and both types of risotto we tried (cheese and pesto) were creamy, rich, and so satisfying. The desserts were a highlight — beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Every bite felt like a treat. A big shoutout to Alexandro and Daniela, our servers, who were warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcomed. Their kindness and professionalism really enhanced our overall experience. Highly recommend Medusa for anyone looking for top-quality food and excellent service.

Okay food, okay service, very bland atmosphere. We came for lunch and the restaurant was quiet with no music. Myself and three others in my party ordered the poke bowl— they all got tuna but I opted for chicken because I have a fish allergy. When they brought out our food I was surprised to see that the chicken was fried (very untypical for poke). I asked our waitress to switch it to grilled, which she did, but when I got my food all of the other people in my party were done with their meals. The meat portion was small— about 2oz, the rice was pretty hard, and the bowl was not very flavorful. The fruit was fresh, but the bowl overall was mediocre compared to other poke across Costa Rica. I would say to skip over this place.
Kambria L — Google review
Very recommend! We were 5 people, we ate few starters, mains, and desserts, with cocktails. Everything thing was between good and extraordinary. Prices are high, but not exaggerated. The best dishes, in our feeling - The Ceaser Salad (with chicken) and the Brownie. All mains were very good, with the exception of the Chicken Pasta Pesto - which was good but not above.

I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant multiple times during my stay — and for good reason. The balcony view is absolutely stunning, offering the perfect backdrop for a relaxing and memorable evening. The food was consistently excellent, with prices comparable to other nearby restaurants. One standout dish was the Stuffed Chili Pepper, which was so good I ordered it more than once. What truly set the experience apart, though, was the exceptional service. Our server, Gabriel, brought a fantastic energy to the evening — friendly, engaging, and genuinely fun to be around. His service elevated the entire experience. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning guest, I highly recommend this place for dinner. Great food, beautiful views, and top-notch service — it’s a combination that’s hard to beat.

I'll begin with the idea that we would go again. The food was great, once properly cooked, but we ordered two whole fried fish and both were literally raw inside. They dropped them again in the oil and they were much better then, but by that time the rest of dinner was half gone and we were full. A small error that made a big difference. The shrimp accompaniments, garlic sauce, salad and patacones were all terrific, as was the three dip appetizer. They aren't used to making an Old Fashioned though, so you're probably better off sticking with a fruity drink or even water. Portions were very large and we could have really gotten one less meal. Maybe two for our party of four. The night time view isn't much, but service was fast and very friendly.

Vista Verde is a must eat at restaurant if you're in the area. The atmosphere is very cool and comfortable indoors and in the patio. The coffee is good and we loved the patacones for appetizer. My shredded chicken tacos and sweet plantains was a portion bigger than I could finish and was an explosion of flavor. Every taco was stuffed to the brim. My husband's around con pollo was also delicious and a very big serving. The service was quick, helpful, and friendly and the prices were a bargain for the quality and amount of food you receive.

We went here most days we were in the complex. It was right next door to our apartment. I was shocked with how amazing this place was! You cannot go wrong with the tacos, the tortillas are incredible and all of their grilled meat is proper. My favorite was the Caribbean chicken leg and rice and beans. The skin was crispy but flavorful and the leg was so juicy! The rice and beans I could eat every day! Top notch views but awesome that we could also get this great food on the beach or in our room.

My friends, wife and I had lunch at this location and the atmosphere on the porch was amazing, the views were better than we expected. This is a process to eat here if you are not staying on property. You need a reservation; you cannot park here; you have to fill out a page and sign a document that you will not walk around. The jungle is grown so high that you can barely see the ocean. While the people are nice, skip this one and go to Emilio’s Cafe - food and the view are better.

If you’re coming here for fun, live music, a few beers and chips and salsa this place is perfect! It’s bar food with a small staff, just to set expectations. We ordered chips and salsa and it took over 30 minutes to get them. The wings are expensive (over 7000 colones for only 6 wings) and it took over 30 minutes to get them. When they arrived, it was the wrong type. We asked to keep them because it would be wasteful to throw them out after we had tried one, but the waiter refused to leave it. Then when we asked for the bill, we were given the wrong bill twice and had to tell them what we ordered. Only giving it a 2 star review because the drinks were good and it was busy.

First of all, me and my family did not stayed in the hotel, we're just looking for a place to eat breakfast. It was a buffet style breakfast which I imagine it would not be pricey. Well I was wrong, the end up charging us $70 usd for the breakfast buffet. This is unacceptable.

I found the perfect trio of terrible in this restaurant! Food was terrible, service was extremely slow and food was needlessly pricey and just not worth what you pay for. We ordered lunch and waited for over 45 mins! Meanwhile the kitchen was preparing the food for a reservation group that was not even in the restaurant yet! Once the food arrived, it tasted terrible. The burger was ridiculously oversized and completely underwhelming. The pasta had literally no condiments or flavor to speak of. Overall a completely terrible experience to avoid.

We stayed at this hotel and had diner here. They appeared to have adequate vegetarian choices. We ordered lettuce wraps and Vege Burrito. Warps turned out to be tasteless lettuce wrapped in rice paper. No dressing or flavor. For condiment we were given mayonese when we had specifically told them about our egg allergy. Burrito also lacked any flavor. No salsa or sauce were available. It was waste of an evening after lice day in the National Park and at the beach.

We didn’t stay at the hotel, we ate at the restaurant. The food was delicious and the workers were very nice. The service was great and Coke in a bottle is different than a can.

Excellent and affordable accomodation within 10-minute walk to park entrance. Contrary to other reviews, rooms are very clean, albeit small. We stayed in room with cama matimonial and were offered air conditioning for an extra $10 so took it. Shared bathrooms were nicely laid out and clean. Shared/open space was limited but we also spent time in the restaurant where prices are reasonable and food delicious. Room comes with free breakfast which was wonderful and plentiful with fruit plate and a other of pinto gallo, huevos, pan, etc. Oscar was a most gracious and helpful host, mil gracias! We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend the Art Hostel Costa Linda!

Didn’t stay at the hostel, just at the restaurant. The food is amazing. We had the best casado we had in Costa Rica

I had an amazing experience here! I stayed at the hostel one night and ate there, loved all of it. Oscar is a sweetheart, an awesome host, and is happy and willing to help with whatever you need. It was pretty cheap for how close it was to the beach and for how good they treat you. Bed was comfy and room was private. The bathrooms are a little small but it’s definitely not that big of a deal. Food was delicious and cheap. 10/10 recommended this place as both a hostel and restaurant. Thank you for making my time there so pleasant!!

Restaurant
Mirador Oceanview Restaurant offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with friendly and attentive service. The stunning views of Playitas Beach and the ocean make it a paradise dining spot, often featuring sightings of wildlife like monkeys and hummingbirds. The restaurant's creative dishes use local ingredients and flavors, presented beautifully. Guests can enjoy delicious drinks, top-notch appetizers, and high-quality seafood dishes at an excellent value.
Arenas del mar is the only real beach club in Manuel Antonio. Food is better than most restaurants and quality/price excellent Staff are super attentive and want to make sure you have the best time. You can eat with your feet on sand or have breakfast at the main building with a breathtaking view of ocean and the national park. This is the second time we stay at arenas del mar and it is unbeatable with other experience we had around the area. Highly recommend it!!

This place is amazing. The staff is so friendly! I can’t wait to come back! We were early, they found us a spot and created an amazing dining experience
Neala C — Google review
I really want to give this place full stars based on the view and the staff however I would probably only be able to recommend this place for Cocktails and appetizers. My Manuel Antonio margarita was delicious! The Burrata salad and pre meal bread were top notch so I was so surprised when our main course was delivered. I had the catch of the day and it was so not a catch of the day. I eat in the area and have had perfectly fresh fish. This mahi was fishy and the preparation bland. My husband had the Caribbean chicken which had zero flavor. I would rate the meal equivalent to a Marriott resort meal which we are not fans of. Expensive pricing for below performance. The staff was great and friendly and like I said the panoramic views of playitas beach are breath taking.

One of the best restaurants we’ve been in Costa Rica and for sure in quepos. Good atmosphere, good service. The food wasn’t very innovative but was well prepared.
David P — Google review
We went for dinner here on the first night of our arrival and ended up going there almost every day. The food is to die for. The restaurant is on the pricier side but every bit of it is worth it- the food, customer service, the ambience and the views. If we knew about it ahead of time, we would have for sure stayed at their resort for a couple of days. Don’t miss on this gem if you’re in Manuel Antonio- you will not regret.

Arianna provided us lovely service. Drinks were delicious! The food was incredible, we have never gotten 4 appetizers and been wow’d by all. Entrees were a delight. I am gluten free and so much on the menu was already GF. What a lovely experience!

Great food and beach. They mixed up my order however, but it was resolved.

Arenas Del Mar is a dream! The staff is unbelievably amazing. They make you feel at home. The food is spectacular and worth every dollar. Location is such an experience. The perfect place to zone out and enjoy your peace and quiet. The private beach couldn’t be better. Thank you all for an amazing time. Can’t wait to be back.

Seafood restaurant
Nestled in a tranquil neighborhood of Quepos, Marisqueria Velamar Restaurante is a hidden gem for seafood lovers. Recently relocated, this charming eatery may not boast extravagant decor, but it more than makes up for it with its mouthwatering dishes. Diners rave about the freshness of the fish, sourced directly from local sport fishermen, and the made-to-order meals that showcase incredible flavors.
All dishes were delicious including the tuna ceviche, the fish of the day and the shrimp pasta. The service was excellent throughout and the waiter gave us ample time to ask questions and decide which dishes to have.

Local seafood restaurant in the heart of Quepos, yet in a quiet neighborhood. Recently reopened in a new location down the block from its previous one. This place is definitely not fancy, but the food was made-to-order and delicious, some or the best we had during our stay. The fish was super fresh and sourced from sport fishermen. The owner and server were really friendly and accommodating the menu to meet our tastes. They were both fluent in and happy to speak English. We had the Pescado del Dia (sea bass) and yellow fin tuna three-ways (sashimi, seared, and blackened). The side order of rice and beans were mind-blowingly good. We had to restrain ourselves from ordering more food than we could eat! Definitely check this place out and get away from the more touristy spots. And try their house cocktail, Coco, with mint and the local spirit! Tip: Google maps doesn't know this street is one-way.

Listen, this is a local joint. Don't dress fancy, but come expecting great food. The shrimp ceviche was awesome. Sea bass was really good... Subtle, even when done blackened. Really great food! Seriously though, not fancy... If you order wine, it'll be red or.... Red. And it's good. Tasted very fresh.

Located very centrally in Quepos, the dishes are extremely good. We had an appetizer (Nachos), which was abundant and tasty, and after that one tuna and one "Mariscada" (seafood plate). The tuna was cooked perfectly and just melted in the mouth. The seafood plate was exteemely good as well. Prices are more than honest - max. 25 USD for an excellent quality.

Read it all : Among all the restaurants I stopped by during holidays in Costa Rica, I have to admit that this one stranded out. I cannot say that the place is very fancy, actually, to be fair, it is kind of basic. But who cares !? I came for tasty food and that's exactly what I had !!! As a big plus, the price was very fair (total with 2 plates and 3 drinks was 14300 CRC inclusive of service... for seafood ...). In addition to this, you can pay by card or cash. For those who wandered in Costa Rica, you'll understand that many places take cash only (which sincerely annoyed me ... specially when you know that getting cash from an ATM is genuinely a pain in the a**). Besides the tasty food (Ceviche mix & Seafood plater) the waiter was also very kind and caring. that you'll get a five stars service. As a food lover I will definitely come back on my next visit.

Small menus but like most places prepare fresh. Portions are big. Calamari was heavy w batter for my liking. Rest of food was tasty

This restaurant serving excellent quality seafood at reasonable prices. My husband and I had mixed ceviche, today's fish, tuna steak, banana flambe, chocolate souffle and two beer. Everything was well prepared, taste was amazing, portion was good enough, and staffs were super friendly. And we paid only 46USD in total! Today's fish and Tuna steak were 4,500 colon(around 8USD) each, and it is really a good deal considering food prices in Costa Rica in general. Highly recommended :)

The best seafood restaurant ever!!! The mussels Caribbean Style are really sensational. For the quality, the price is absolutely justified. Recommendable. Sandra and Miró
