We had a wonderful stay at Olive Green Hotel. The ambiance of the hotel was perfect. The room was nice and spacious and very clean. The restaurant on the first floor was delightful. The location is unbeatable. Blocks from the dining district, museums, and the port. We would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at Olive Green Hotel! The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the whole place was very well maintained. What really made our stay special was the birthday package I booked through their website. Everything was perfectly arranged — we received a lovely cake, fresh flowers, wine, and festive balloons in the room. It was such a thoughtful touch and really added to the celebration! Our room was clean and comfortable. Overall, a great experience and we’d definitely return. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway — especially if you’re celebrating something special!

Outstanding hotel with excellent staff, friendly, professional, warm and responsive. Room extremely comfortable. Loved sitting out on balcony overlooking park with chairs, footstools and table. Very comfortable bed. Great shower. Spacious room. Breakfast was outstanding. Great location. So glad we chose Olive Green. Don’t miss the archeological museum!
J G — Google review
Great location, pet friendly with super friendly staff We stayed for 3 nights with our (small) dog. The room was quite spacious and very clean. The bed also very comfortable. The staff super friendly and helpful. They were also very friendly to our dog. The location is great, very close to everything in the center. Overall, great stay, we could not have asked for more.
Dionisios P — Google review
Wonderful time there. Staff were very kind and friendly, were eager to help! Was in a great location, very near bus stop and port as well as great shops nearby such as pharamacy, restaurants and souvenirs. The food served there was really good, we had linguine pesto and smash burger.
Edie J — Google review
The Olive Green Hotel is a clean, friendly and helpful place to stay, in a great location in the middle of the best parts of Heraklion. The food at the restaurant is decently priced and tasted great, the staff were super helpful and can organise taxi's to the airport or port. The rooms are well priced and larger, which makes things easier for a longer stay.
Hamish L — Google review
We just stayed one night here but it was perfect, our room was super comfortable. The breakfast could be improved as the quality of food is not that high.
G. — Google review
Olive Green was the perfect spot to stay during our Greece honeymoon!! Located in the heart of Heraklion, Olive Green is a modern hotel that offers a spacious large room with an incredibly comfortable bed. The breakfast offered was superb as well. Olive Green is within easy walking distance of the Heraklion harbor and fortress, as well as the wonderful restaurants Heraklion has to offer. It's also the perfect place to stay before a morning ferry out of Heraklion port! Less than a 10-minute walk from the front door to the ferry lines!

Nestled in the heart of Heraklion, DOM Boutique Hotel seamlessly blends modern elegance with a touch of the city's Venetian legacy. The hotel boasts contemporary rooms with balconies and luxurious finishes, offering expansive city views and well-appointed private bathrooms. Its chic design exudes minimalist sophistication, featuring clean lines and muted tones. Guests can enjoy a bohemian ambiance accentuated by retro details like crocheted pouffes and botanical art.
We loved our Junior Suite with its stunning sea view and private hot tub, it was so relaxing. The staff’s exceptional service truly set this hotel apart. Perfectly located near the beach and key attractions, it’s the ideal spot for a relaxing getaway. Definitely recommend!!
Zaina Z — Google review
Absolutely amazing. Us two Canadians had a very enjoyable time at the hotel. First the location is PERFECT for seeing all the local sites and walking to/from the port. Taxi from airport was 18 euros. Breakfast was delightful, served from 7-10am in the morning. On our last day we had to leave before 7am to catch our ferry. The breakfast room was available early to us (just call the front desk the night before and let them know of your early departure). This was a really nice touch, and have not experienced at a hotel before. Also we enjoyed the amenities in the room, including 2 free water bottles a day. If you want to save on food/drinks for your journey just stop into the grocery store next door. 5 thumbs up.

Certainly — here’s a well-rounded Google review based on your experience: ⸻ ★★★★★ 5/5 A fantastic stay in a perfectly located hotel — you can’t beat the convenience of this spot. The rooms are modern and have everything you need for a comfortable visit. While some building noise and voices did carry at times, it didn’t take away from the experience. What really stood out was the service: warm, attentive, and absolutely exceeded our expectations. Would happily stay here again.
Matty B — Google review
Very nice boutique hotel right in the heart of Heraklion! Rooms were clean, service was always impeccable, and above all we really loved their breakfast, they had such a wide choice between continental and Greek breakfast, everything was absolutely delicious! We felt very welcome and we had definitely a wonderful stay here. Also one plus, its location was amazing, making it easy to pop in and out during our strolls in the city. Highly recommend!
Debora I — Google review
The hotel manager George was a life-saver during my travel fiasco of trying to get back home. He was extremely helpful, supportive and understanding of my situation, and the rest of the staff were also kind and friendly. The rooms are clean and new with excellent amenities. The breakfast is delicious with a great selection. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the old town of Heraklion.
Atanas T — Google review
The Dom hotel is wonderful! Despina and Despina and George and Georgina were wonderful serving us special breakfast and receiving us ! The breakfasts were delicious and catered for our vegetarian vegan meals and the room and cleaning were top notch ! Highly recommend!!!
Shirish Q — Google review
This is a fantastic boutique hotel. The rooms are clean and modern. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the main part of town, but also has parking opposite the hotel. If I could give this hotel 6 stars for service I would! The staff are exceptional! We travelled with our 3 month old baby and the staff went above and beyond to help us and make sure our stay was relaxing and stress free. Their communication was excellent. I cannot recommend this hotel and their staff highly enough.
Paige T — Google review
Modern hotel in a central location. The daily breakfast and water bottles in the rooms made the trip extra convenient.

Legacy Gastro Suites is a luxurious 5-star boutique hotel located in the heart of Heraklion. The hotel offers 12 art-inspired suites, each honoring cultural icons of Crete and featuring breathtaking Mediterranean views. The suites are designed with a blend of classic decor and modern amenities, inspired by the urban decor of the 1950s.
We stayed here in September 2024 for three nights with two other couples. Great location in the center within walking distance to everything, including the archeological museum shopping, the harbor. Rooms were beautiful and well appointed and quiet. Breakfast was incredible! Staff very pleasant and helpful with local recommendations. We would most definitely return and stay here again when we return.
Margie M — Google review
Nice hotel in the very center of Herakleio. It may tick the boxes for a five star hotel, but it doesn't feel like one. Room had a great view, was clean & tidy but was a bit strangely decorated, with a tiny WC and the glass covered shower + sink right next to the comfy bed, which came as a surprise. Reception of the hotel was super small (unlikely for 5* hotels). Table serviced breakfast (no buffet) had fair options but also felt somehow strange, as bacon & sausages with the egg came cold - probably cooked much earlier, pancake was burnt and there was no espresso or instant coffee available as the barista was not there and the waiter could not make a coffee (it was about 8am).
Nikolas K — Google review
Me and my boyfriend had an amazing stay at this hotel. We were there for four nights, and the staff were always so friendly and helpful. Very special shout out to Nikos on the reception - for the very best food recommendations ever! He made our trip very special. Very close to Heraklion museum and local buses to Knossos, so perfect for us. The breakfast was great, the room was lovely, spacious and fully accessible. Lots of great food and drink options in the mini bar and they offered discounts at local restaurants too.
Shannon N — Google review
We travel the world and always book at 5 star locations. What exceeded the 5 stars at this hotel was the SERVICE. The entire staff wore smiles during our stay and aimed to please. Special honors to Chara and Makes who really stood out and made sure we were well cared for. The location was perfect and accessible to everything we desired to see. The breakfast had every group covered. We were in an upgraded room which was also perfect!
Tricia M — Google review
My family and I stayed at Legacy Gastro Suites for seven nights in early July, and it was simply perfect. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s exceptional hospitality stood out — always friendly, professional, and ready with thoughtful recommendations that enhanced our stay. The location couldn’t be better: just a short walk to the Heraklion Museum and local buses to Knossos, with a taxi station right across the street and the central bus station within walking distance, making it ideal for exploring the area. Breakfast was a real highlight, offering fresh food, fruit, yoghurt, and eggs cooked to your preference. On two early excursion days, the team kindly prepared generous lunch bags to keep us fuelled while out and about. Our room was spacious, beautifully appointed, and fully accessible, complete with a balcony that offered stunning views over the city and harbour. We were genuinely sad to leave and are already looking forward to our next visit. I highly recommend Legacy Gastro Suites to anyone planning a trip to Heraklion. A big thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable!
Yvonne T — Google review
We found this hotel by referral from another hotel that was overbooked, how lucky we were! This hotel is conveniently located in the city, close to restaurants, shopping and especial to the Archeological Museum, which is only a very short walk away. The room is very clean and comfortable, the breakfast was delicious. And the service was excellent, especially the receptionist Anastasia, She is the best! Every time you walk in the door, she greets you cheerfully with that big smile on her beautiful face. On our arrival, she took a map out and circled all the interesting places, and gave very detailed information and directions. We came across some difficulties in printing out the boat tickets the night before we leave, and she worked so hard and tried everything she could to help us. It was late and her shift was ending soon, but she kept comforting us while working out the solutions. We were very impressed by her and the hotel, we will defiantly stay here again next time we are in town.
Lynn T — Google review
Located in the center of Heraklion this hotel is the epitome of Greek hospitality. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and shown directly into our room. The room was clean, luxurious, spacious. Overall everything we were looking for with breathtaking views of the Port and the beautiful colours of the sunset. Everyone in the hotel made us feel at home and nothing was too much for them. Excellent breakfast, with local delicacies served daily from 7am till 11am.

What a wonderful hotel! As soon as we arrived we were greeted with a refreshing drink. Staff was amazing and attentive. The room was impressive- clean, comfortable, and the shower was amazing! Close to shopping and restaurants.

The Aquila Atlantis Hotel is a sophisticated property located near the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion. It boasts an outdoor pool with stunning harbor views, a stylish restaurant, and a chic bar. The hotel also features a spa, rooftop pool, and six versatile event spaces for up to 850 guests. The rooms and suites are elegantly decorated with parquet floors and offer picturesque views of the city, harbor, or atrium.
This hotel stay was very impressive. Staff were polite and engaging, check in was seamless. Our room was upgraded. Room standard was excellent. Breakfast was included in our room rate. One of the best breakfasts I have had at a hotel. Close to the port and an easy walk to restaurants.
David P — Google review
Great great hotel! Very friendly staff, wonderful amenities - except for parking. It was somewhat limited but the staff did their best to accommodate us. Also, my view was rather disappointing. I was told I would have a city view, but instead saw the back of nearby buildings and air conditioning units. Amazing breakfast! Anything you could want! Overall a great stay!
Aphrodite D — Google review
Aquila Atlantis Hotel is a solid place to stay in Heraklion - the location is excellent, close to the city center and easy to explore nearby sights and walkable to great food spots. I don't think I would call it a 5-star because the carpets could be updated and the amenities were basic, but it was a comfortable stay and a fair price. Breakfast was good, decent variety, but the coffee machine wasn't working properly so that was a bummer. Overall, a reliable and enjoyable hotel experience - would recommend and stay again if doing a stopover.
Sean G — Google review
The hotel is in an ideal location. But I would never call this a 5 star hotel the toilet was dirty the swimming pool was small. For 5 stars i expected alot more. Furthermore on their website it said that they have parking. However once we got to the hotel they told us that they have one but only a very very small one, basically they refused our car and told us to park it somewhere else. Honest decent hotel but definitely doesnt deserve 5 stars, would not go there again.
Niek K — Google review
This is decidedly not a 5 star hotel although they think they are. You arrive and there is no one to even ask if they can take your bags let alone actually do it. There is no bellman at the door. Front desk couldn’t find the reservation and grilled us for the proof although our tour company made it months previous. A 5 minute check-in took a frustrating 20 minutes because when they finally found it, it was for one night not 3. They were to correct that problem “later.” Clearly it was not corrected because on Day 2 we return to find we are locked out. The card worked on the elevator but not to the room. According to the front desk, we created the lockout giving us several reasons as to why “we” likely demagnetized the cards. When I suggested that maybe “they” hadn’t extended our stay they doubled down on their intransigence. No apology and a poor attitude. The hotel is well located and clean with comfortable suites but you have to find your way to the shops because unless you ask for it, there is no map offered. The planes overhead make it noisy and they run until late at night and restart at 4am. During our 2 month journey across 4 countries including 2 in North Africa we consistently received warmer welcomes and better service from the front-facing staff than we did at this hotel. This is their weak spot.
Tony G — Google review
The Hotel is luxurious, the team is very friendly and the service is good. The parking at the hotel is not good, not enough parking lots. The rooftop pool area is disappointing… yes you can order food and drinks up there but everything is a little bit old and wasted… the pool is rather smaller than it looks on the pictures and instead of a nice lounge area with some music up there you just hear the squeaking noise of sun umbrellas in the wind all the time…
Cisca.z Z — Google review
The hotel shows signs of aging, and the rooms don't live up to the 5-star rating. The seaview room was actually at a slanted angle and was a disappointment. The front desk staff and bellboy were super helpful and deserved our tip. The hotel is a brief 5-minute stroll to the old city centre, with loads of restaurants and a Bazaar supermarket nearby.
Eugene W — Google review
Definitely not a 5 star hotel but given the price it is a good deal. More like a 3.5 star. Good location being 10min walking distance to the center city and harbour. Not near the beaches unless you take a car. Very friendly staff. Had some AC issues but the staff helped resolve. Walls are thin, you can hear the airplanes flying and people talking in hallways. The pools aren’t heated and was too cold to swim which was disappointing.

This is an excellent hotel. The room was very comfortable, well equipped and quiet. The restaurant was excellent and breakfast, in particular, was superb. Throughout, the service was friendly, attentive and efficient. We did not use the pool but have no reason to think it fell below the standards of everything else. If you are happy with the 20 minute walk to the city centre you will not be disappointed with this hotel

Exceptional Hospitality at Galaxy Hotel – Thanks to Anna K . 🌟 During our stay at the Galaxy Hotel in Crete, we had the pleasure of meeting Anna, the restaurant manager—and what a difference she made! From the moment we arrived, Anna’s warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism stood out. She embodies the very best of Greek hospitality, making every meal feel like a celebration. Whether it was recommending local specialties, ensuring every detail was perfect, or simply greeting us with her radiant smile, Anna went above and beyond. Her passion for her work and genuine care for guests transformed our dining experience into something truly memorable. We feel incredibly lucky to have met her and can’t imagine our time in Crete without her thoughtful presence. Anna is a true gem, and Galaxy Hotel is fortunate to have her leading their restaurant team. Highly recommended!

The restaurant was absolutely superb, offering both exquisite cuisine and impeccable service in a luxurious atmosphere. Our gratitude extends to everyone at the hotel for their excellent work and genuine care. Thank you very much once again — we look forward to seeing you soon! Raya and Alexander Tsimanis

This was the MOST comfortable and quiet rooms I've had on the entire tour of 16 days. The rooms have updated TVs and the softest pillows and sheets. I loved the buffet that was planned for our group. Everything was fresh and delicious. The desserts were beautiful and delicious. Breakfast was just as delicious with fresh eggs and many varieties of things to eat. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

There were a lot of great reviews about this hotel and still, I walked in a little skeptical. Well. I stand corrected! This hotel is wonderful. The staff, design, cleanliness, service. Everything. A phenomenal value. My only regret is I have only one night here! Next time I come to Heraklion, I will stay here!

Amazing everything. Great value for the price. I wish we had stayed longer. The staff were all nice except for the lady in charge of breakfast. Maybe she shouldn't be dealing with guests if she doesn't like her job. Not the face guests want to see first thing in the morning when on vacation. One suggestion, maybe get another coffee machine or have pots of coffee ready so people dont have to wait in line for a cup. Other than that, it was perfect. Highly recommend!

Lato Boutique Hotel in Heraklion is a stylish 4-star property located in a vibrant shopping neighborhood, just minutes away from the city's top attractions. The hotel offers colorful rooms and suites with sea views, along with two restaurants serving European, local, and international cuisine. Guests can enjoy the hotel's prime location near the Heraklion Archaeological Museum and other natural sights like Georgiadis Park.
Lato was in a great location from the Sea Jets port we arrived. It is also located near many restaurants and the Central Markets. We found it to be a wonderful location for walking to and from many attractions, such as the museum and shopping. The rooms were well appointed, clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our price included breakfast which was convenient and lovely. I would also like to point out the wonderful laundry service across the street. We would drop off a bag of washing for 15euro, and it was washed, dried and delivered back to lato. It was very convenient and the man was lovely. All in all a lovely stay in Crete at Lato!
Stacy B — Google review
I stayed at this hotel for 8 days and I must say it was a wonderful experience. The room we got was a superior sea side view which was amazing, also it conveniently placed close to some amazing food places around, just a 5 min walk to all the restaurants in the area, also the hotel restaurant has some great food. I must add that the central bus station is very close just a 10 minute walk too , It's a great place to go if you want to visit the beaches, the buses have a long track to different places so you can get a ticket to the stop where you desire.

We only stayed for one night but the people could not have been more helpful. The upstairs restaurant was superb with wonderful views across the Harbour and great food. Our bedroom was clean and the bed very comfortable. It was easy to do some exploring of the nearby streets and harbour from the hotel. Next time we'll stay longer!
Mike S — Google review
The rooms are quite nice, some with a beautiful look on the harbour. The stuff was really nice. Would not recommend if you come travel by car. We took the ferry next day and the location was perfect for that. The breakfast was awesome. All in all it was a great hotel for the night but did not feel like a real „summer holiday“.
Julia L — Google review
Rooms are basic but clean. We stayed in room 303 and had a nice view of the harbor. The location is good, close to the port if you are planning to take the ferry to other islands. Cab fare to the airport is around 15 euros. Overall it’s a basic hotel with tired furniture, helpful staff and good breakfast with adequate selections.
Mariam A — Google review
This is a first-rate hotel and I absolutely loved it. The room was clean and modern and the decor, sophisticated. The bathroom sparkled. The staff were extremely attentive and available at all times. Walking distance from magnificent restaurants by the harbor.
Francesca — Google review
The hotel was overall a good choice for a couple of nights right in the heart of Heraklion city and extremely convenient for visiting both the old and new ports. However, I am glad I was only here for two nights and spent the rest of my trip in another, more premium, hotel elsewhere on the island. The Superior Double Room Sea View we had was surprisingly small with very little in it except a bed and a small desk. The balcony was literally just big enough for the two chairs provided (the remainder was occupied by an air conditioner) and there was hardly enough leg room to even sit down. The view however was excellent - ours had a view down to the Venetian fortress. The air conditioner was noisy and the door seal was bad causing a lot of wind noise to enter even when closed but we had an otherwise quiet stay. From looking at the floor plan a suite would be the smallest room I would consider for a longer stay - I looked into one whilst it was being cleaned and it looked like a good size with a separated sitting area. The roof top bar was excellent, with very friendly staff and good (for the city) prices. The view was excellent, going across 270 degrees (at least) of the city including the entire seafront and ports. Breakfast was good with a small selection of hot items but plenty of unusual things to try including my favourite - four different kinds of syrup soaked fruits (similar to a glacé fruit). The staff were happy to store our luggage both before and after our stay and had a system of labelling against the room number which was a nice touch. Overall fine for what it provided and very good staff.

Ibis Styles Heraklion Central, part of the Accor hotel group, is a relaxed and convenient accommodation option located in the heart of Heraklion Town. The hotel offers spacious rooms with balconies boasting city or sea views. Each room features modern amenities such as a 43" flat-screen TV, electronic safe, and mini bar. Guests can enjoy a diverse dining experience at the on-site restaurant and unwind at the bar with an array of beverage options.
We were 3 adults and stayed 5 nights. Really enjoyed our time here. The room was spacious, clean and even came with a balcony which was a plus. Great location, only a few minutes walk from bus stops and high street. Breakfast was delicious. So many options from savoury and sweet. They also had a rooftop bar with excellent views. Good service as we had to print bus tickets and they did with pleasure. Great amenities.

Average hotel and affordable for the area. Rooms were basic and some repair needed but overall comfortable and glad we stayed here. I wouldn’t call it a 4 star hotel as google says. We stayed one night to catch a ferry in the morning. Hotel staff was very helpful and kind. Free breakfast was great too!

I had a very pleasant four-night stay at this hotel for a recent conference. For a single traveler, the room was extremely spacious, and was very clean and well-maintained. The only flaw was that the drainage of the shower was not designed well, and I caused my bathroom to mildly flood each time I took a shower. The staff were courteous, and the breakfast was also nice (though a little repetitive by day 4, since the same dishes were served each day). I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at Ibis Styles Heraklion. The family room was spacious, clean and comfortable overall. The bathrooms are especially great. Solid and varied breakfast buffet. It’s also handy that there’s valet parking at €9 per day available right next door. Some suggestions to make it even better: - the sofa bed in the family room isn’t comfortable at all, and sinks in, especially when anyone more than a young child uses it. - the breakfast is great but it would be nice to label what’s vegetarian and vegan. Much easier for guests like us to know what we can enjoy each day. - the sound proofing isn’t so great and you can hear quite a lot of noise from outside if you’re on a lower floor especially. Didn’t bother us too much though but could be tough for those with younger kids.

Stayed here for a night only but it's a good hotel. Rooms were big and ammenities plentiful. Breakfast is abundant too. Location is very convenient for going to downtown or Venetian port. Bus stop to Knossos palace only 200 mts far. Finally, staff is really helpful

Honestly this place should not be functioning under the ibis label, what an absolute joke! Listed as free parking but when you show up they try and charge you, the air conditioning in the room does not work and when I told the receptionist she told me “it definitely works” without even looking or sending someone and then proceeded to hang up on me in the middle of the call. I could not have been more polite in simply asking for a room with functioning air conditioning since that’s what I booked, but I was told I should just open the balcony door to cool the room instead. Like on what planet does this hotel even exist?!
Hany M — Google review
A solid choice in a great location in Heraklion - a short walk to the port and to the main area of town for dining and shopping. It’s especially good for families as the rooms are very big and many have separate bedrooms, big sofa beds and connecting rooms too. Good breakfast spread.

Very convenient location, about 10 mins walk from the port. And a few mins walk to the museum. Surrounded by shops and restaurants. Family room is spacious, clean and modern. Breakfast is good and also has garage parking.

Metropole Urban Hotel is a relaxed and understated hotel located in Heraklion Town, just 1.6 km from the famous Venetian Walls. Situated within walking distance of various attractions such as the Cultural Conference Centre of Heraklion and the Historical Museum of Crete, this urban hotel offers comfortable quarters, some with balconies.
This hotel has amazing view of the church and courtyard right near by. It can be a little noisy until around 11pm if you are someone that likes to sleep with the door open, but with the door closed it was no concern. The staff are amazing and were able to facilitate a very early check in for us, which was very much appreciated! The staff also gave amazing recommendations for restaurants nearby! The room was a decent size, and is well setup. You are within walking distance of everything, from the ferry, to restaurants, and historical sights from the hotel here. The breakfast is provided by the restaurant next door and was served similar to how you would do High Tea in London. It was all quite tasty!

My husband made a reservation at Metropolitan Urban Hotel in Heraklion but accidentally booked it for one day later than intended. He realized the mistake immediately and called the hotel to ask if it could be moved one day earlier. The hotel said there was no availability, which we accepted, but when he asked if the reservation could be canceled and refunded, they told him to contact Booking.com. He did, and Booking.com contacted the hotel — but the hotel declined the request. We understand that policies exist, but he acted right away and explained everything clearly. Unfortunately, the hotel was not willing to help at all, which left us quite disappointed. Based on this experience, we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
ÖZNUR D — Google review
The website is inaccurate - breakfast is not included with all reservations, there is not an airport shuttle, and not all rooms have balconies. We had 3 rooms, each had a patio door but instead of a balcony each room had a grate or railing so the patio door could be opened but there was no balcony to step onto. One of our rooms did not have a door for the shower so water got all over. The day we arrived, the hotel said the replacement door was “on the boat from Athens”. We were there for 7 nights and the shower door never arrived. Another of our rooms had bathroom light switches that did not work properly. The day we arrived, the hotel said the maintenance worker was “on the way”. He never arrived and the bathroom was quite dark. This could be a good hotel if they would respond faster to maintenance needs and if they corrected inaccuracies on their website.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Metropole Urban. The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable and the staff always friendly and helpful. The location is excellent – from right outside to at most a 10-minute walk, you can find countless great restaurants and plentiful shopping in the old town, not to mention the beautiful church adjacent the hotel on the square. It’s only a 10 to 12-minute walk to the Heraklion Archeology Museum and just a bit father to stroll to the port. The generous breakfast was a delight and a great way to kick off the day. We would certainly book the Metropole again for a return stay

Subject: Concern Regarding My Reservation and Lack of Support Dear Metropolitan Urban Hotel Team, I am writing to express my disappointment regarding an issue I experienced with a reservation I made at your hotel in Heraklion. Unfortunately, while booking, I mistakenly selected the date one day later than I had originally intended. As soon as I realized the mistake, I immediately called your hotel to explain the situation and asked whether it would be possible to change the reservation to one day earlier, which was my intended check-in date. During the call, I was informed that there was no availability on the day I actually wanted. I then asked if it would be possible to cancel the reservation and receive a refund, but your staff advised me to contact Booking.com directly, which I assume was based on your policy or agreement with them. Following your advice, I contacted Booking.com and asked them to reach out to your hotel on my behalf. I later saw that the hotel responded negatively to their request and declined any changes or refund. I understand that policies exist, but considering this was an honest mistake that I attempted to rectify immediately, I was hoping for a more understanding and flexible approach. Unfortunately, I did not receive any helpful solution from your side, which was disappointing. I kindly ask you once again to reconsider either changing the reservation date or processing a refund, as the booking was not used and I acted in good faith to resolve the issue promptly. Sincerely, Serhan Akın

Great hotel, room in 501 with a beautiful view and a large terrace, and a jacuzzi. New bedding and towels every day. Big compliments for the hotel staff, always available 24 hours. Everything you need far from home.

We were very pleased with this hotel at the center of Heraklion. We had a balcony to overlook a plaza and churches, there were tons of restaurants, bars, cafe's, stores and bus stops just a few minutes' walk, and it was very close to the downtown area. Even parking was not bad - we found a 24-hour public parking close by. Our room was cozy and quiet with a large bed, and a clean bathroom that had no water leak (happens often in abroad). The staff were nice and helpful We tried the restaurants they recommended and we liked all of them. The only thing was the quality of breakfast served by the "Hacienda" cafe in the hotel building. The food in buffet was mostly dried and cold including coffee probably because they are prepared all at once. Well breakfast came "free", but we usually understand that it is included in the hotel fee. Anyways, besides that our stay was wonderful. We will definitely go back there.
Yoshiko K — Google review
Great hotel, well situated in the center of the city. Rooms are new and big enough. We also had a balcony that was big enough to relax on with 2 people. Normally I would deduct a star for the somewhat lackluster breakfast but that was more than made up by the best shower I've ever had in a hotel! All in all warmly recommended and great value for money!

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Heraklion, the Veneziano Boutique Hotel is a charming retreat that beautifully marries history with modern comfort. This elegant boutique hotel features a serene courtyard and an inviting spa, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploration. Just a short stroll away from iconic sites like Morosini Fountain and the Historical Museum of Crete, it offers easy access to local culture. Guests can indulge in delightful meals at the cozy café or enjoy room service during select hours.
A great little hotel, clean and spacious. Good breakfast and very polite hosts! Just note that parking is very tight and difficult to find in the neighbourhood, especially if you are not Greek and are not used to the way it's done here in such areas.
Konstantinos — Google review
The hotel is on a smaller street but very close to the main shopping area and a short walk to the square to catch the bus to Knossos. It is a little strange that they notified us there would be no attendant after 15:00. They did provide instructions to access the room but we arrived before then so did not need to use them. There was only one attendant and it appeared she was responsible for almost everything from dealing with guests to keeping breakfast refreshed. I do want to give her an excellent review because she handled it very efficiently with a good attitude but was quite busy. We needed to catch a ferry early the next day to Santorini and I was a little concerned our taxi request would be missed. But not only was our taxi on time a small breakfast was packed for us. The breakfast buffet could be considered small by some but it satisfied us. We had a family room and the access was on a side street which was not directly part of the hotel. The room was fine but some items such as curtains and bed coverings need to be updated. The beds we comfortable. We would stay there again but would look around before doing so.

I had a terrible experience with this hotel and had multiple issues with my stay. BEWARE. Upon arrival, the hotel was completely locked up with no staff on site. There was only a note for an emergency number of the door. Luckily my cab driver was nice enough to call and help me out, as I did not have cell phone service in Greece to be able to make the call. The driver eventually got in touch with the staff who were able to find my reservation and provide a code to a lock box with a key. Once I got the key, it was extremely difficult to open both the main hotel door and room door, because the keys and locks were so beat up from years of use that they repeatedly became jammed and stuck. Once I entered the room, it appeared clean enough (at least superficially) but the entire place smelled incredibly musty, with a strong stench of mildew and mold. The bath towels were especially stinky. After settling in, I wandered out for the evening to explore the city of Heraklion. The one positive note I have about the hotel is that the location is excellent and is within walking distance of city center. When I got back to my room for the evening, I was preparing to get ready for bed, but then I saw several tiny bugs crawling all over the bed! It was unclear if they were bed bugs or something else, but regardless it was disgusting and distressing. Since there was still no staff on site, I tried to call the emergency number provided but no one picked up. I then called my travel booking company to discuss and they attempted to get in touch with the hotel but were unable to. Since I was absolutely NOT willing to stay in the hotel with a bug infestation, I was forced to book another hotel late that evening and walk to it. Don't stay here. You've been warned.

All in all a charming place, good people, and an exceptional breakfast and coffee! You can't ask for much more than that. Their bathrooms are much larger in comparison to most other arrangements. They made sure we were satisfied and comfortable and had not even been there more than 12 hours. Highly recommend

Rooms are clean and lovely, however water in the shower went all over the floor due absence of a door. Bed was comfortable with very nice pillows. Unfortunately we did not get the service we expected from the hotel. We specifically booked this place so we can leave our luggage at reception on a day and then pick it up in the evening before going to the airport. Reception is unstaffed from 15:00, which means on arrival we had to do self check in, get keys in the box - which was not a problem.Had to wait and wonder around the city with luggage in a heat because we were not informed that hotel “service” closes at 3pm. In this case it should be renamed to bed and breakfast or run on Airbnb not as a hotel as there is a certain expectation that comes with booking a four star hotel. Breakfast was excellent and probably best we had on our holiday.

Everything about this hotel is simply wonderful!!!! The staff is world class and amazingly friendly. I was there for two nights and enjoyed every minute of my stay. The complimentary breakfast was a great touch for this boutique hotel. It had a great selection of hot and cold breakfast items that catered towards an international audience. There was also coffee service which was an added surprise as well. I stayed in the family maisonette which was spacious for two people and it was beautifully appointed with modern touches with rustic charm. The doors open out to the street and the gorgeous courtyard. The location of the hotel is only 2-3 minutes to the city center and a 5-10 minute walk to the port. I would definitely recommend this location for any international tourists! The friendly staff speaks great English and the wifi service is strong as well. Happy travels!

Incredibly wonderful hotel. The hotel itself is a beautifully restored heritage building. Every staff I came across was super friendly, helpful, and nice. The room was beautiful and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I slept well with black out curtains. The air conditioning was quiet and cooled down the room. The breakfast was delicious. Very central location. 5 min taxi ride to the airport (cost 10 euro) . This hotel was amazing. Highly recommended.

Located in the heart of Crete's capital city, Capsis Astoria Heraklion is a modern hotel offering upgraded services for both business and leisure travelers. Situated next to the renowned Heraklion Archaeological Museum, it serves as a popular meeting point for locals and tourists alike. The hotel features stylish rooms, state-of-the-art conference facilities, restaurants, a gym, and an outdoor swimming pool on the rooftop with stunning views of Heraklion and the old Venetian port.
The location is extremely convenient—close to bus stops, taxis, restaurants, and shopping. The staff was very helpful, although parking information could have been a bit clearer if you're renting a car. That said, you can find free parking about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, which I think is definitely worth it. The rooftop swimming pool is a highlight—very nice, with an astonishing and relaxing view. You should definitely try it if you're in the mood for a lazy day. :)

Overall quite a nice experience, the rooftop bar/pool is great! Drinks are very reasonably priced. We stayed four nights so had a pretty comprehensive experience with this hotel. Breakfast is as good as expected and the room was modern and quite clean. The only issue we had was the toilet mechanism had some hiccups and quite often there is no water when flushing. I asked for ironing equipment and they brought it to the room very quickly. It would be nice if the 2 bottled water were refilled during the daily room service, although one could pop downstairs and buy from the shop next door. It would have been a nice touch if the hotel took care of that.

Very surprised how beautiful, clean, and new this hotel is. Included breakfast is great, and rooftop pool and bar is one of the best views and spots in the city!! Amazing sunset views and general atmosphere. Location, location, location!! Everything and everything is right outside, from museums to shops to restaurants, to seaside !! No car no problem!! Very happy we got this gem for few days before leaving Greece.

Perfect for our large group. Great location in downtown Heraklion next to the archaeology museum, a few blocks from the Venetian harbor. Surrounded by shopping and great restaurants. The rooftop pool and bar is the best part, and the staff there were so friendly and accommodating. Great breakfast, too.

The gym is perhaps a 1 star. One treadmill, not a complete of free weights, a universal that perhaps was made in the seventies. It's downstairs in a small room that maybe can hold 3 people. Hotel rooms are a size. Shower design causes water to leak outside the shower. Good water pressure and clean. Beds are a bit firm for my taste but bottled water, coffee, and tea are supplied. Buffet breakfast was good. A lot of selection and the milk was cold. Had a room in the back because I like quiet. Rooms by the square can get noisy. Staff friendly and helpful. Had paino in lobby. Was given permission to play but too large and loud for the small lobby.

The hotel, rooms and pool is pretty nice. The breakfast is also good and regional. Sadly the area around the hotel is pretty loud. A lot of loud card are passing by the hotel. Additional, the doors of the rooms are weak isolated, so you hear every noise from the corridor. I wasn't able to sleep without earplugs.

Guests can enjoy stunning views of the old harbor from the rooftop terrace, which features a refreshing outdoor pool. The hotel's prime location provides easy access to nearby museums and attractions, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers.
Enjoyed a one night stay before we caught our ferry. Hotel was beautiful and clean with lovely amenities. Small rooftop pool and bar was nice to cool off at. Rooms had all of the nice little goodies that make for a comfy stay. Huge wraparound balcony facing the sea. Lovely staff.

Very nice hotel with a view of the harbor from the room. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room had two balconies, a small table, and a couch. The bed was a bit too soft for me personally. I highly recommend the hotel and would be happy to return.

I recently spent a few nights at Megaron Hotel in Crete, and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The staff were all warm and professional, - but I especially want to commend the manager, who truly went above and beyond! - She made every effort to ensure things ran smoothly and made me feel genuinely welcome. The room was immaculate and well‑appointed — comfortable bed, quiet environment, excellent amenities, and thoughtful touches like complimentary bottled water and high‑quality toiletries. The housekeeping staff were discreet but thorough, maintaining the room to top standards. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of fresh options and good coffee. The hotel’s location is ideal — convenient to local attractions, restaurants and transport — yet peaceful enough to relax in the evenings. Overall, Megaron Hotel is fantastic. With its excellent service (especially from management), great location and comfortable rooms, I would absolutely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The rooms at Megaron are spacious, tastefully decorated, and impeccably maintained. High ceilings, large windows, and modern amenities ensure a stay that’s both luxurious and relaxing. Whether you’re overlooking the old harbor or the city streets, the views are as impressive as the interiors. What truly elevates the Megaron experience is the exceptional staff. From the front desk to housekeeping, every team member is friendly, attentive, and highly professional. They go above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome and well cared for, offering local tips, swift service, and genuine hospitality. The breakfast buffet is a standout feature — a rich spread that caters to every palate. Freshly baked breads and pastries, local cheeses and cold cuts, seasonal fruits, traditional Cretan delicacies, and made-to-order eggs are just a few of the highlights.

Great location but decoration is very out dated, Balkan style. Airplanes makes a lot of noise due to proximity to airport. Difficult to sleep. Hotel is located at the end of the pist of airport. As new airport will be replaced the current one, I suggest to stay this hotel 2-3 years later. Hotel has a nice roof top.

The experience here is first rate in every way. Customer service is at the forefront Eri, the manager when we arrived, worked out a booking problem we had caused, helping us to avoid having to change rooms mid trip. They also are super helpful securing taxis and giving recommendations throughout the city. We arrived by ferry and it was a pretty easy 10 minute walk from the port. Also, the hotel is central to many important sites, restaurants and museums. Overall and outstanding experience, with customer service really standing out- we felt very cared for here! Highly recommend!

Excellent hotel in Heraklion, that we booked directly in their website since you always get more by doing so . The building itself is an amazing architectural renovated stucture , one of the most imoressive in Greece . The views to the venitian Port are amazing from the 5th floor . We stayed 3 nights during August busy period but I was postively impressed from this high quality hotel . The room , even though we booked the simple one , was excellent, with wood floor , high ceiling , very clean , the bathroom very big and many small details that make this a 5 star hotel . In some 5 stars the cheapset rooms can be disappointing but here it was really a very good room . THe room being arranged few times per day by the hotel staff and we slept really good on the beds . We didn't take the breakfast but ordered some sandwiches to our room and portions were big and again excellent quality of food and service. We also had dinner at the 5 th floor restaurant, it was very very good. Sitting to relax in this hotel roof is amazing since you can see all of Heraklion port with cruise ships and ferries but also the Venetian port ,the wind is amazing and you really dont want to leave once there . The swiming pool on this sane roof is very small so don't expect something huge to swim but it is ok for a city hotel. The hotel also made a taxi booking for us to the airport and the prices were even cheaper than taking a taxi with App or in the street so I really recommend to get the hotel reception help in anything you need .they are all very kind . We needed a late check out because of our flight but the hotel was fully booked still the hotel team allowed us to stay in the faciltiies and even taking a shower at the Spa which was really great for us . As a person who have been to many 5 stars around the world , this one is really meeting the standards of an excellent hotel as expected from a 5 star and I'm assume this is Crete best city hotel.

Excellent quality of accommodation, outside of building could be misleading to the quality that is waiting inside. From the moment you enter reception you have a feel of confidence from the staff that all your needs will be met. Rooms are quite large and contain all that is needed for a stay in the area. Wide-screen smart tv, usb charging points, king-sized bed and Excellent quality bedding. Bathroom consists of bath with shower attachment, wash basin and toilet. Food in restaurant is highly recommended especially the burger is a must try!

City Lion has it all. It is lovely boutique apartments in a perfect position for everything you need when staying in Heraklion Town. We were given a very warm and helpful welcome from the front of house staff who told us everything we needed to know and everyone was always on hand with helpful advice. The hotel has obviously had a recent refurbishment and our apartment was cosy, but with all the most modern facilities. The view from our small balcony lived up to it's reputation. We spent three lovely nights at the City Lion Apartments in Heraklion. Our loft apartment was spacious and so well appointed. The kitchen had everything we needed for a quick meal break. The staff were incredibly helpful. They made dinner reservations for us, made sure we knew where we were going, and helped us turn of the heating in the apartment (Greeks like the temperature warmer than Wisconsinites in March). I spend several lovely hours sipping wine on the small balcony. The location could not be better for shopping and dining. We had a great visit!

Amazing place! Location is unbeatable in the heart of the city. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are great, bright and clean. It’s the little things that make a difference, like the water bottles in the fridge, the free coffee tabs and a late check out that was available. I booked again for our next stay, wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Heraklion.

Absolutely stunning apartments centrally located in Heraklion. The rooms were not only spacious and modern but also impeccably clean. The innovative use of smart home technology in the rooms made our stay incredibly convenient. The luxurious soaps provided in the bathrooms added a touch of elegance. One of the standout features of this hotel was their user-friendly app, a true one-stop solution for all our inquiries. Whether we needed dinner recommendations or guidance on navigating between cities, the app had it all covered. However, what truly made this hotel exceptional was its outstanding staff. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel like we were part of their family. Always ready to assist with any questions, they went above and beyond by helping us book bus tickets, arrange cabs, and even printing our ferry boarding passes. Their warm smiles and genuine greetings made each return to the hotel a delightful experience. Overall, our stay at this hotel was beyond memorable, and we can't wait to return to experience their top-notch hospitality once again.

Being right in the heart of Heraklion center, it’s the perfect spot to explore the city while enjoying a peaceful, high-end retreat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for both style and comfort!

We stayed at Dimargio Luxury Hotel & Spa for one night, from August 10 to 11, 2025, and we would definitely choose this hotel again whenever we visit Heraklion. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and quiet — not noisy at all, which we really appreciated. The location is also perfect: it’s peaceful, yet you can reach all main attractions of the city easily on foot. We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, and the food was absolutely delicious. But what truly impressed us was the kindness and helpfulness of the entire staff. My best friend had already arrived sick in Crete, and the staff at the bar, the spa, and the reception did everything they could to help us find a doctor — even though it was a Sunday. Unfortunately, we couldn’t reach one that day. The next morning, Katerina managed to contact a doctor who literally saved my friend’s life. He had been wrongly treated before our trip, and thanks to Katerina’s effort, he finally received the correct treatment. Because of her help, he was able to recover, and we could enjoy the remaining eight days of our holiday on the island. Her dedication and compassion were exceptional — it wasn’t just professional service, it came from the heart. We will never forget this experience and will gladly return to this hotel anytime. We can only recommend it to everyone visiting Heraklion. Thank you again to the whole team, and especially to Katerina! ❤️

Due to an unexpected flight cancellation, I found myself needing last-minute accommodation in Heraklion. Fortunately, I discovered the Dimargio Luxury Hotel, and it turned out to be an outstanding experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and warmth. Despite the hotel being fully booked, they went above and beyond to accommodate me promptly and efficiently. Their genuine willingness to assist with any request made me feel truly valued as a guest. The hotel’s ambiance is a perfect blend of modern elegance and comfort. My room was impeccably clean, well-appointed, and provided a serene environment for rest. The attention to detail in the room’s design and amenities was evident and greatly appreciated. Breakfast at the hotel’s bistro was a delightful experience. The rich continental buffet offered a variety of delicious options, reflecting the quality and care the hotel invests in its services. Enjoying my meal in the charming courtyard added to the overall pleasant atmosphere. In summary, my stay at the Dimargio Luxury Hotel exceeded all expectations. The combination of exceptional service, comfortable accommodations, and a welcoming environment makes it a top choice for anyone visiting Heraklion. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

Stayed here with my family and we loved this hotel. From the moment we arrived, Katarina helped us with all of our bags, checked us in early and showed us around our three rooms (which she coordinated to be side by side, and upgraded my parents). The rooms were lovely; modern, comfortable beds and well-equipped with nice bath products, a Nespresso, toiletry kits etc. Breakfast was delicious with wonderful service. Katarina and the rest of the team were attentive throughout. We thought the area was also great, close enough to the attractions but a quieter, more local street with independent shops and cafes. We would gladly stay here again. Thank you Katarina and team for your hospitality

Breakfast was wonderful. The beds and pillows were comfortable, and there was usb and usc outlets next to both sides of bed along with having shampoo AND conditioner in shower. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I’d recommend staying here. You can pull up to drop your bags but there is no dedicated parking. We used a Parking lot around the corner for 7euros a night.

Nestled in the heart of Heraklion's historic center, Kastro Hotel is a modern and comfortable retreat for travelers eager to explore Crete's ancient wonders. The hotel offers air-conditioned rooms, inclusive breakfast, and convenient amenities such as an LCD TV and mini fridge. Guests can also enjoy onsite massages and take in city views from the terrace.
Our stay was amazing, very nice, modern and clean room, equipped, comfy bed, in the center close to everything, very polite staff, decent breakfast. There was a small malfunction with the balcony door, not that great soundproofing,no privacy-soundproofing between room and bathroom and no sitting in the balcony but no big deal, totally value for money, i would definitely book again. Highly recommend it.

Perfectly fine hotel in the city center, with a good breakfast service. Room was clean. I did find some mold in the shower. For those with a vehicle, the roads near hotel are very tight with very limited parking available. Advise using a paid parking lot nearby.

Hotel is nicely located between port and the restaurants. We were able to walk to both. The room was small and clean, bathroom was tiny and not very comfortable. street parking around seems impossible, hotel will point you to nearby valet parking. Hotel has nice pation on the roof if you'd like to escape noise and just relax. There is vending machine with beers and snacks.

Wonderful modern hotel with responsive 24/7 staff. Rooms are perfectly clean, well-designed, roomy for 2 people, great water pressure in the bathroom, and quite a luxurious feel for the price. We stayed in the top floor so we had direct access to the roof deck. Easily walkable from center City and the main attractions in Heraklion. 18€ taxi from the airport. Breakfast is included and quite decent. Bonus - luggage storage and an elevator! Only downside is you can hear the airplanes at all hours taking off from Herkalion, even with ear plugs.

Lovely hotel at a fine location nearby the town centre. There are restaurants, grocery stores and shopping districts in walking distance. I arrived to the city via the bus from Chania and left the city via ferry via the harbour. although not exactly short distance but they are walkable. it is a relatively busy city and many popular restaurants are very occupied during the weekend.

LAVRIS City Suites offers a luxurious and historically rich experience, situated just a few meters from Heraklion's ancient center. The building features four spacious suites, perfect for travelers eager to explore the area's archaeological sites such as Phaistos and Knossos. Despite its proximity to the airport, it is conveniently close to the main square and the archaeological museum.
The suites are modern and immaculate just a few hundred metres from the centre of Heraklion. The personal service provided by Mary, making sure everything was organised for our visit, including late check in and breakfast delivered to our room each day, was second to none. We really enjoyed our stay.

Disappointed with Refusal to Refund Unused Room I was very disappointed when the hotel refused to provide a refund for our room after unforeseen circumstances prevented us from staying. While I understand cancellation policies exist, a little flexibility would have been appreciated, especially since we notified them in advance. This rigid approach has left a negative impression, and I would caution others to book carefully—or consider more accommodating hotels.

We had amazing experience here. The staff here is extremely nice and goes extra steps to make sure our stay is comfortable. We left a hat there and they even helped us to ship it to our next destination! The room is very clean and has Cretan themed decorations. The hotel is also a short walk from both port, bus terminal and city centre, so super convenient in Heraklion.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The room was clean and nicely decorated. Mary and Dimitris were super helpful. Perfect location to hop on the bus to other cities.

Lavris is a fantastic place to stay in Heraklion. The location is super convenient; just a short walk from the inter-city bus terminal, local bus stops, and the charming old town. The facilities are modern, clean, and comfortable, but what really sets Lavris apart is the incredibly warm and welcoming staff. Highly recommended for a hassle-free and pleasant stay in the city!

The Lavris Suites is my first choice for a stay in Heraklion from the first visit years ago. The rooms are lovely, the facilities inroom are just what you need and the staff are always helpful. The Lavris meets that wonderful middle ground between over-attentive service and and feeling here is no one to help with problems or needing information. All you need to do is phone or text and someone will answer and help you.

What a perfect place to stay in Herkaliin/Iráklio! A 10 minute taxi or public bus ride from the airport, stroll across the street to the central bus terminal and a ten minute walk to cruise ships or ferries in the harbour. And on top it's a 10-15 minute stroll to the center of the city. The bus for Knossos leaves and returns 100 yards from Lavris, so does another bus to one of the beaches nearby (20 minutes ride). Maria, who primarily runs the front desk, is a gem of a hostess. Very friendly and knowledgable she exudes warmth, compassion and has an answer for any query we had. If you've made it to here, you might think this is an advertisment rather than a rating, but it's not. We are first time visitors to Crete and have found the perfect place fördert a repeat visit to Heraklion/Iráklio. PS I almost forgot 😇: Our room (rather suite 😊) was very new, modern and well equipped with a very comfortably bed, great bathroom with an outstanding shower and many amenities.

Lavris City Suites were so easy to find from the airport. The reception team (Demetris and Mary) at Lavris was exceptional. Helped us find things, directions and helpful hints like wineries to visit in the area. We arrived strangers and left feeking like family. First time in Heraklion I was worried we wouldn't be able to find things but the location is amazing. Just a small walk up the hill to Old Town shops/restraunts and Museum of Archeology and easy walk to the Port to see the Fortress. I had business to attend to wifi was great and was located a few blocks off the main streets of the city business. Parking out front is a bonus. The rooms/bathroom were spotless and include the newest tech We will be back! Curt and Cheree Brodrick

This hotel is a little gem in a perfect location in Heraklion. The rooms are big, clean and there is more than you would expect. The value you get here is much higher than price. You can reach all the main attractions by having nice foot walk on the coast promenade to the city center. Many thanks to Dimitri who made our stay pleasant and flawless. Also many thanks for the nice conversation and recommendations. Thanks to the manager for Pavo!

Clean, modern, and well appointed. A ideal landing spot after a late flight arrival. Staff went out of their way to ensure we were well cared for and covered every detail. Parking / arrival / entry… for a late night check in. They reached out via text / email and WhatsApp to ensure their message reached us. The check out process couldn’t have been easier and the art was beautiful. The bedding was soft and clean. The pillows were a bit on the firm side but to me they just felt new. The shower was a dream. Nice big rain shower head. It was also lovely to have a nespresso in the morning in the room.

Absolutely loved our stay at Pavo art hotel. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. Especially the shower was amazing and the bed was very comfy. Only thing to keep in mind is that the front door of your apartment is not sound proof, so one night we woke up because of loud people in the hallways. But obviously not the hotels fault that people were being loud. Staff were very friendly! Would definitely recommend!

The Pavo Hotel is undoubtedly a gem in Heraklion, offering a unique and delightful stay!!! The warm and welcoming receptionists made me feel right at home. The artistic touch of the apartment, transformed it into a space that was both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable– it felt like staying in an art gallery. The bed was incredibly cozy and provided a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring. It's actually pretty close to the city center so I got to explore without spending half my day on a bus or walking. From the friendly faces at the front desk to the meticulous cleaning standards and that aesthetic, the Pavo Hotel went above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay.

Awesome stay at Pavo Art, will definitely stay again when we come back to Crete! The rooms are modern, CLEAN, beds are comfy and shower is great. The small kitchen is an extra plus, with coffee capsules, microwave and small fridge (and a hob, but we didn’t use this). Overall, super well equipped. Excellent price. Parking is a bit tricky but doable, and distance to the center is 5 mins with car or a 15/20 mins walk. Loved it!

This is easily one of the best hotels in Heraklion, offering a very good balance between quality and price. The hotel building is newly constructed, adhering to modern standards. I was in my apartment during the 2021 earthquake and the subsequent aftershocks that occurred that night. Despite the quake's impact on older buildings in the city, the hotel remained unscathed. Here are some positives: The rooms are generously sized, providing ample space and furnishings. The furniture is both modern and comfortable. All the necessary appliances (fridge, microwave, TV, electric stove, etc.) are brand new and of high quality. The balcony overlooks a peaceful inner courtyard, ensuring a quiet atmosphere. There's a secure safe in the room for storing important belongings like documents and money. The hotel's proximity to the old port, reachable via a scenic pedestrian walkway along the shoreline, is a major plus. Besides, the pedestrian walkway is a great spot for capturing unforgettable photos. Nearby, you'll find plenty of shops, supermarkets, bakeries, patisseries, and pizzerias. The hotel's location makes it ideal for those exploring the island off the swimming season. The hotel staff, who I believe might also be the owners (though I didn't inquire), are incredibly friendly, discreet, and always ready to assist. Cons: The only drawback is that the hotel is surrounded by taller buildings, so the view from the balcony it's not particularly beautiful. However, considering all the other advantages, this minor inconvenience hardly matters. Plus, the balcony's orientation towards the inner courtyard guarantees a quiet night's sleep, allowing tourists to rest peacefully.

The owner has paid great attention to detail to ensure guests' satisfaction, and the reception and service are top-notch. The location is convenient, just about 10 minutes from the city center and easily accessible from the main highway.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Porta Suites for the nights before and after our wedding, and it was an absolutely perfect experience. Our suite, the "Premium Suite Sea View with Outdoor Jetted Tub," was ideal for wedding preparations and photographs, being luxurious, newly constructed, and providing a beautiful backdrop for our special moments. The terrace was the perfect place to hang out with friends the night after the wedding, offering a relaxing and scenic space to celebrate with a sea view. Porta Suites was impeccably clean, with every corner of our suite spotless and well-maintained. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The proximity to beautiful sandy beaches and the Heraklion airport also added to the convenience of our stay. Beautiful accommodation. Perfectly clean and new with super friendly staff. We've even been upgraded to a Superior suite, because the junior suite wasn't available at the time of our stay. Our booking was very last minute and everything was ready anyway :) The suite was generously equipped and we even found some refreshments after arrival. Another plus were the high quality towels and robes, which made our stay even more comfortable after using the jacuzzi 🤩 Considering the location of the suites we had a peaceful night, thanks to the noise isolation and very comfortable bed with two pillow options (softer and firmer)

Domus Ariadne is a chic and modern hotel located in Heraklion, close to the Archaeological Museum and the Venetian Harbour. The hotel features stylish rooms and suites with Art Deco touches, offering a unique sensory experience with different layouts and color palettes. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a patio, parking, Wi-Fi, and a petite Miami-inspired patio with vibrant furniture and potted palms. The reception staff is friendly, offering a relaxed atmosphere for guests.
I spent three nights at Domus Ariadne with my mom for a holiday in Heraklion. The room was very quiet and clean, and all the furniture was new. The location is close to restaurants and nice bars. The owner, Giannis, was an amazing host — we had some trouble with our flight, and he assisted us every step of the way until we arrived safe and sound in Crete.

Modern, stylish hotel located really close to the Heraklion Archeological Museum and rest of old town. We had the Grigio suite which was the front facing, ground floor room. My partner is sensitive to noise and did hear other guests in the hallway and the front door opening and closing quite regularly. Suggest a rug for the main hall way, soft closer for the front door, or thicker room doors/sound deadening. When raised with Giannis he was responsive and apologetic (however I understand there wasn't much they can do). Perhaps other rooms further from the front are quieter. Other than that the rooms are really nice, decently appointed and have comfortable beds, lots of storage and a fridge. Theres also a secluded communal courtyard with chairs and umbrellas. It's about a 15 minute walk from the port, and only a few minutes into town.

September 2025 - Stayed for a single night in the BiancoNero. With street parking non-existent in this area, a (very) short term parking spot is available for luggage unloading. The BiancoNero room was very compact, but included everything necessary for a quick stay prior to an early morning flight. The Nespresso machine was a welcome amenity, as was the refrigerator. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot, and the room was quiet. All boxes checked! Giannis was very communicative and helpful during the check-in process. He even arranged for an early morning taxi to the airport. Location was very central, a short walk to great restaurants, museums, and the port. Great property, will return for our next Crete adventure.

No complaints. The room has the perfect size and distribution. Airco for the hot and humid nights, greeting coffee and water, new and modern bathroom, enough space. We noticed no noise or other guests, maybe we were alone this time. There's a cute indoors terrace to have a drink and chill.

Very nice five night stay. Room was very comfortable and a fantastic location handy to the port, bus station, museum and the vibrant life of the old city. Host Giannis was welcoming and helpful. Tea and coffee provided in the room along with a bar fridge.

Giannis was a most attentive host - each room was separately named and thoughtfully and well laid out. We had 'serious' luggage with which Giannis was very helpful. Our room also had two balconies - for morning and evening. Fabulous stay at Domus Ariadne - made our experiences in Heraklion and close other towns very special.

Very nice small boutique hotel, at an extremely convenient place at the center of the city. The rooms are bright, spacious, very clean and nicely decorated. Owners are very kind and helpful. The breakfast is absolutely amazing. You can choose what you want and they bring it in your room at the time you want. The only disadvantage is the lack of parking. It's hard to park around there, so you will probably end up paying for parking. Overall, really good and highly recommended.

Our room was appropriate for a family of four (the kids had their own separate room with Netflix and YouTube available on the TV) and the service from Γιάννη was excellent, he responds on WhatsApp within a few short minutes to any query! I was at this location, in the summer of 2024. The hotel is in a central area, with shops nearby. The rooms are elegant and clean. The quality breakfast, being on the top floor of the building, also offers a pleasant view. The staff was very friendly.

The hotel is on the good location, bus station and old city are close. Hotels parking is about 400m far away. We had a huge terrace but without chairs and table practically we couldn’t use it, and after asking 4 times we got one plastic chair. Breakfast was served on the 5th floor with great views. Not value for money

This was the most disappointing place I have ever stayed. The environment was dusty and gross, with dirty rugs and stained floors throughout. The lobby looked like it hadn't been cleaned or updated since 1969, with broken tiles on the stairs and damaged baseboards. The only positive aspect was the reception staff, who tried very hard to be friendly and accommodating, even attempting to switch my room. However, the overall condition of the property was unacceptable; it resembled a hospital rather than a welcoming place to stay. I strongly advise against staying here. It was truly one of the worst experiences I've had. My advice don’t stay here.

Very good location , not too far from the city center and parking is available close by. sadly the road was a bit loud during the night but it was fine. the biggest issue was that our bathroom kept flooding as the shower had no door this was very annoying. the breakfast was very good.

I’m not sure why this hotel has so many negative reviews, and I’m pretty picky about cleanliness and comfortability. Positives: clean room, somewhat modernly furnished, very kind service. The front desk offered to have breakfast made for me since I would be leaving early before breakfast opened. Though they do not have an airport shuttle, you can charter a taxi by asking the front desk to call one for you. The shower was one of the biggest and nicest I’ve used so far on the islands, and the bathroom was clean and stocked. My room had a small balcony which was also nice. The AC worked well and cooled the room down from 24 to 17 C within an hour. The bed is squishy but firm, and comfortable. The wifi works well. The maid service system was also kind of neat, it’s a digital button inside the door instead of a placard. Tea and instant coffee are provided in the room with an electric kettle. I personally didn’t really feel sketched out by the area taking the bus here late at night by myself, though it was a weekend. It just seems like a more local area. There’s a supermarket across the street in case you forget anything on your trip. Cons: The rooms are a bit loud. On the fourth floor, I could hear a ton from the kitchen above me, and other guests banging around their rooms or in the hallway. The kitchen noise died down eventually at least. - They also only give you one keycard, which you need to pay to replace if you lose it. Since I’m only staying a night, I didn’t bother asking for a second. - My room also didn’t have a chair, just a built-in luggage bench. - They did not provide slippers or any other little amenity kits. Overall, if you are here temporarily for the airport, or you don’t spend much time in your room on vacation, this is a good choice. At a total of ~130€ a night, it’s about what I would expect, which is a clean, safe place to sleep with good service and useable amenities.

Hotel
Pnoé Breathing Life is a chic adults-only beach resort near Heraklion airport, drawing inspiration from Minoan architecture. The hotel features open-plan design with 60 private pool suites surrounding an almond-shaped pool. Guests rave about the top-notch hospitality, delectable Cretan cuisine, and stunning interior design. With a strong wellness focus and easy-going private-club vibe, this debut hotel concept offers an unforgettable vacation experience on the island of Crete.
Pnoé Breathing Life is an exceptional hotel that exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, everything was flawless — the service, the design, the atmosphere, and the attention to detail. The rooms are beautifully designed and offer true comfort and tranquility. The private pool suite is high more than I expected. The staff is incredibly kind, professional, and always willing to help. The entire experience felt luxurious yet deeply relaxing. I genuinely couldn’t ask for more. I give it a full 10/10 and would return without hesitation. Highly recommended!

Pnoé Breathing Life Adults Only is without doubt one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are exceptional, always kind, respectful, smiling and truly eager to help with anything you need. Even when a small misunderstanding occurred, they did everything possible to make us feel comfortable and well looked after. The facilities are outstanding. There is a beautiful pool area where you can enjoy the sun throughout the day, a stylish bar serving excellent food and drinks, and a breakfast buffet that is honestly one of the best I have ever experienced. The hotel also has two restaurants offering outstanding dishes that are definitely worth trying during your stay. Each room comes with its own private pool, giving you the chance to fully relax with your partner, and the rooms themselves are modern, elegant and equipped with everything you might need. There is also a spa with a wide variety of treatments and a 24/7 gym with all the equipment required to keep in shape. Overall this is a true five star experience, combining luxury, comfort and genuine hospitality. I absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Crete.

My stay at this hotel was truly unforgettable. The entire property is incredibly beautiful – thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail, creating an atmosphere where you instantly feel at ease. The food was absolutely outstanding – everything from the variety to the quality and presentation was perfect. Every course was a delight! What really stood out was the service: the entire team was not only professional but also genuinely warm and attentive. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every guest felt comfortable and welcome. A big thank you to the whole team – I’ll definitely be coming back!

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Pnoé – and it was perfect from the very first moment. The resort is modern, stylish, and impeccably maintained. Our room with a private pool was a true dream, offering plenty of peace and privacy. What truly made this stay special, however, was the team: from reception to the restaurants to the pool bar – every single person was warm, attentive, and highly professional. You can feel that service here isn’t just a job, it’s a passion. The food is outstanding: high-quality products, beautifully presented, and full of flavor – easily fine dining level. We especially loved the à la carte options. Pnoé has now become our go-to hotel. We can’t wait to return! 💙
Rabea N — Google review
We really enjoyed our stay. The people are super friendly, the food is delicious, and the swim-up room with private pool was a highlight. Everything is clean and well maintained. The private transfer to the beach is a nice bonus, and communication via WhatsApp is fast and easy. In general, Greeks are incredibly warm and welcoming — you feel it everywhere. Renting a car is definitely recommended, since there’s not much within walking distance of the hotel. But the island is stunning and perfect to explore by car. Still, the hotel is a clear 10/10. Highly recommended.
Celeste M — Google review
We would like to sincerely thank you for this perfect stay – there was absolutely nothing to criticize; on the contrary, it was simply outstanding from start to finish! The organization, the food, the drinks – everything was spot on and executed with great attention to detail. What we would especially like to highlight, however, are the wonderful people we had the pleasure of meeting here, who brightened our days with their warmth and kindness. They are doing an outstanding job and truly deserve a very special thank you. A place can only be as beautiful as the people who shape it – and here, you can feel that in every moment. One thing is certain: we will be more than happy to return!

The hotel exceeded our expectations — beautiful design, excellent service, and a peaceful, refined atmosphere. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and everything felt perfectly taken care of. We especially appreciated the concept and the tranquil ambiance the hotel aimed to create. We’re leaving full of positive energy and unforgettable memories. Thank you for everything!

This hotel is simply fantastic! From the very first moment, we were impressed by the modern, stylish design and the impeccable cleanliness everywhere – in the rooms, common areas, and around the pool. The food is absolutely amazing and incredibly delicious – every meal was a real culinary experience! They also paid great attention to dietary needs, which was a huge plus for us. The staff is incredibly kind, polite, and helpful – always smiling and responding to every request with care. We truly felt like valued guests. We had a wonderful time, it was total relaxation, and we’ll definitely come back! We wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone!

The Lena Hotel in Heraklion is a budget hotel with straightforward facilities, including shared bathrooms. The staff are helpful and the Wi-Fi is good. The only downside may be the small rooms.
We have had a very nice week at Lena Hotel in Heraklion, it has a good location in the middle of the city. Our rooms were clean and functional, we found the beds comfortable, and the staff has been very welcoming and friendly. We also enjoyed breakfast here, with very good coffee, cheesepie, boiled eggs, bread and butter, fresh orange juice. It was a very nice stay well worth the price.

Great hotel, good location close to harbour. Rooms were very clean. Decent size rooms and friendly staff. We had a late flight so greatly appreciated the ability to check out and leave luggage in storage. Internet was intermittent.
Dean W — Google review
We could only stay for one night before our flight home, but we will definitely be returning to this hotel! The staff were very kind and even checked in when we were past our stated arrival time and helped us locate the nearest airport bus stop for our early morning departure. The room was simple but very clean, just what we needed. We look forward to staying at Lena in the future and hope that we can enjoy the breakfast on our next trip!
Elizabeth B — Google review
For the price and location it’s great! The rooms are simple, bathroom is small, but it’s all clean and the bed is comfortable, the room has AC, clean towels, and the staff is very nice. We did the self check-in late at night and it also worked great. Only the WiFi has been a little unstable. Would recommend as a budget friendly option :)
Helena O — Google review
The hotel is strategically located a short walk from the centre of Heraklion, with a reception service and a car park a few dozen metres away, which is no mean feat for this city. The rooms, especially my single, are really small but all in all clean and sufficiently spacious, with a well-equipped bathroom and sink in the room, a small TV and a very comfortable bed. For the three nights I stayed there was no cleaning and tidying up of the room, but it had been correctly specified in the offer, in fact perhaps also because of this the price is very competitive and advantageous. I only tried breakfast one morning (the morning of my departure) and was very pleased with the quality and service.
Stefano G — Google review
The room and bathroom were very clean and the beds were comfortable. Location is minutes away from the harbor and from the center where all the shops and restaurants are. Yanis was very courteous and helpful with answering questions. Check- in after hours is very easy and facilitated by hotel staff. I highly recommend this hotel.
Niko S — Google review
Unforgettable Hospitality & A Wonderful Stay I stayed at this lovely hotel in Crete for just one night, but the kindness and care I received will stay with me much longer. After checking out very early in the morning (around 4:20am), I took a taxi—organized by Yiannis, whose family runs the hotel—to Heraklion Airport. In the rush of the morning, I accidentally left my phone in the taxi and only realized it after arriving back in Germany. It was a distressing situation, but Yiannis went above and beyond to help. Not only did the taxi driver return my phone to the hotel, but Yiannis took it upon himself to assist me every step of the way. He stayed in contact, reached out to DHL, and helped coordinate the safe return of my phone. His willingness to help, his calm communication, and genuine care made all the difference. This, to me, is filoxenia at its finest—true Greek hospitality that goes beyond expectations. As for the hotel itself: the room was perfect—quiet, clean, with a very comfy bed and modern facilities. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the city, walking distance to the harbor and everything else you'd want to explore in town. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Crete. A beautiful place run by beautiful people.

Cockroaches football game starts in the evening so you better leave the room before that. Dirty, smells like sewerage, and not worth any money paid there. Regardless of the cockroaches we have seen. Toilet was not working and we tried to get the support, they recommended to use the shard one which was not working as well. We complained in the morning and there was not even an apology.

So Young Hostel is a modern and affordable accommodation located in the heart of Heraklion, just a short walk from the bustling bars and restaurants. It's conveniently situated near popular attractions such as the Port of Heraklion, the archaeological museum, and the Minoan Palace of Knossos. The hostel offers a choice of bunk rooms with shared bathrooms or private rooms for those seeking more comfort. Guests can relax at the rooftop bar, meet new friends, or unwind at the nearby park.
Great hostel! Located in a great spot near the city centre and the port. One of the cleanest hostels I have probably ever stayed in, with a fully equipped kitchen free to use! Yorgos and Maria were super accommodating and had great recommendations for everything in the area. Couldn't recommend it more!

This was my very first time in Greece, and So Young Hostel made it unforgettable. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to help with tips on where to go and what to see. The atmosphere was relaxed and social, making it easy to meet other travelers. The location is perfect — right in the heart of Heraklion, so you can walk to cafes, shops, and historical sites in minutes. The place was clean, comfortable, and felt safe at all times. Amazing people, great vibes, and the perfect base for exploring Crete. I’ll definitely be back!

My stay here was great! The lockers in the room were large enough to hold my large backpack. Showers were very clean. Rooftop bar was great for meeting people. Great kitchen space, large fridge provided. Conveniently located near many things, there’s a nice cafe right across the street for food and drinks. Staff was so helpful and friendly! Will absolutely stay here when I come back to Crete!

Everybody was being very friendly from the staff to the guests themselves, chitchatted with some people, had some lovely interactions ! :) The front desk lady was easy-going and kind, she explained everything well :) I just wish there was put effort into helping people connect together! Maybe organizing a simple trip for a small charge, or maybe even for free having a poll to see who's interested in traveling spontaneously and then assigning a group :) Only for whoever is interested of course!

Candia Suites & Rooms is a casual hotel located in the center of Heraklio Town, just a short walk from major attractions. The modern rooms feature a flat-screen TV and kitchenette, while the private bathrooms come with free toiletries and a hairdryer.
What a hidden gem in a very old and crowded part of Heraklion. Our suite was newly renovated with a very cool vibe and very spacious. If you have a rental car, requesting a space in the underground parking garage is a must. The BEST part of our experience at the Candia was our host. I believe his name was Minoris (I'm sure I'm spelling it wrong or possibly heard it wrong, but wanted to give him a shout out). He went above and beyond to ensure our experience was perfect, and it was! I highly recommend Candia Suites & Rooms for a short or extended stay in Heraklion.

Late notification of self check in. Finding the parking was a nightmare. Sign with arrow on it in wrong direction is not helpful. Really tight concrete jungle poorly signposted. Couldn’t find hotel no numbers on door. Was told to look for a black screen on door. Was a keypad. Got in - couldn’t get aircon working just seemed to pump out hot air. Horrific experience rarely right a poor review but my brain is killing me following the stress. Avoid if arriving late. Other than that it was as expected, nice shower, decent bed
Michael H — Google review
Comfortable, modern room. Very clean. Our room was the first one on the main floor beside the building entrance, so it was a little noisy when people are coming and going, but not unmanageable. A bit tricky to find when first arriving. A very short walk to all the action in the town centre and in the waterfront.
Gayle L — Google review
I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The location is excellent, and everything I needed was close by. The staff were welcoming and helpful, which made the experience even better. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it!
Nantia M — Google review
The location is good, close to Harbour and city center. The room is stylish, but not clean enough. The drainage in the shower does not work properly. Water accumulates during shower, which is bit disgusting. The toilet stinks all the time even with the ventilator on. The door and wall is very bad isolated. I could hear any sound from neighbors. The neighbors have very noisy children, who ran and screamed loud in the corridor at night as well as early in the morning. It sounded like I did not have a door.
Shuting — Google review
Low rate as the room was quite dirty - sheets, pillow cases, bathroom... it was a bit disgusting.. Other than that location is close to the city center which is convenient, parking was free of charge, check-in was easy. There were two small bottles of water in the fridge which was nice. Staff was very friendly and even allowed us to leave the car for a few hours after checkout. It was fine for one night.
Tomasz Z — Google review
We stayed for 1 night just for resting from 7 pm to 10 am before our flight. Dirty and overuse room: floor dirty, sheet dirty, just 1 towel for two people, shower tile and curtains full of mold. We tried to speak with them at the arrival but nobody answered the bell. A receptionist knocked on our door at 11 pm after we have been looking for them since we arrived. Unbelievable. For this reason, we decided to inform them at the checkout. They escorted us to the room to “demonstrate” that was dirty. Insolent behavior, they could just say to be sorry. They told us: “if the room didn’t like you, you were free to go” Never happened to us something like this, it‘s my first bad review, never again. With your attitude, you ruined our last day of vacation.
Michela D — Google review
We arrived in the evening on a Sunday and everything went smoothly! Service: It was easy to be in contact with the reception via Booking.com or texting. I changed my arrival time and found that they were flexible, which I so appreciated. The reception welcomed us, explained the entrance procedures and personally showed us our private parking space. He also gave me a solution for drying a bathing suit by hanging it on chairs outside, which did work. Parking: Just a few steps away is a private parking space. This was extremely helpful. Room: It was just what we needed for one night stayover before heading to the airport. The room was small, and on the first floor but it was clean and comfortable and well decorated. The bed was large and comfy. The AC works well! The bathroom was modern, clean, and no funky smells! Location: In the heart of everything in old town! Upon stepping out you have your choice for food and activities.

Kipos Suites is a highly rated 4-star hotel in Heraklion, popular among couples. It's conveniently located within walking distance of the city's attractions. The hotel offers rooms with kitchenettes and balconies, featuring tasteful interiors and friendly staff. Guests appreciate the modern room design, fast internet, and excellent cleanliness. While some mention small room size and soft mattresses as minor drawbacks, overall it's praised for its new and modern furniture, making guests feel at home.
A wonderful stay at this charming hotel just a short 5-minute walk from the city center! Everything was new, spotless, and well-maintained, making for a very comfortable experience. While the room and bathroom could have been a bit more spacious, the overall quality and cleanliness more than made up for it. What truly stood out was the exceptional service—Michalis at the front desk was simply amazing! Friendly, professional, and always going the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed. It’s rare to come across such outstanding hospitality. If you're looking for a clean, modern, and conveniently located hotel with top-tier service, this is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for one night, wish it was longer. Absolutely outstanding. The lovely Yiannis, upgraded us to a very beautiful room, with fabulous facilities including toiletries, slippers, little kitchen fitted with coffee machine, fridge etc. Lovely comfy bed, spotlessly clean, very quiet location. Highly highly recommend.

We stayed here for two nights and were absolutely thrilled! The rooms and flats are beautifully and modernly furnished and, above all, absolutely clean. The kitchen has everything you need for a short stay. There are a few teas and coffees to make. The very central location and the car park, which is only 20 metres away, are also particularly great. There's no need to emphasise how friendly and pleasant the people in Greece are, but it was the same here! We would love to come back! Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

A bit difficult to find with Google maps but totally worth it. Lovely facility with friendly service from everyone. Our suite was quite large with a large balcony and everything you might need. Easy 5-7 minute walk to the heart of Old Town. Wish we had more than one night.

We stayed at Kipos Suites in Heraklion and had a very pleasant experience overall. The hotel is located in the old city, which makes for a quiet setting, although finding the parking area can be a bit tricky. It’s about a 5–6 minute walk to the center, which is convenient once you’re settled. Both receptionists we met were extremely helpful and polite, always greeting us with a smile and offering assistance when needed. The room was excellent — very clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. One thing to note is that there is no elevator, so it may not be ideal for those with mobility issues or heavy luggage. Overall, a solid and comfortable stay in Heraklion.

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Kipos during our time in Heraklion. The room was spacious, thoughtfully arranged, and tastefully decorated. One of the highlights was definitely the bed – large, extremely comfortable, and perfect for relaxing after a full day of exploring the city and surrounding areas. But what truly made our experience special was Giannis. From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with a genuine smile, positive energy, and an incredibly kind and helpful attitude. He went out of his way to provide fantastic recommendations for both restaurants and beaches, many of which we would have never discovered on our own. Every suggestion he gave us felt spot-on and helped us experience the best of Crete like a local. Giannis doesn’t just do his job – he clearly loves what he does and treats every guest with warmth and care, as if you were a friend. His hospitality added a personal and memorable touch to our stay. We would absolutely return!
Lucas M — Google review
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the friendliest smile from Mike. He welcomed us to the suites and made us feel very welcomed. The rooms are clean, spacious and modern. We had complimentary vanity kits, toothbrushes and a small little kitchen if needed. Fridge was there as well. Perfect head to bed situation in Heraklion. 10-15min walk into the old town and the port. I was really curious about the parking situation but they had their own dedicated parking spots which made life soooo much easier. Be mindful though, the roads are narrow entering the carpark so you wouldn't want a 4WD. The suites are located in the heart of residential areas for Heraklion so it was nice to be with the community. I definitely would stay another night if we had the chance.

Our family group stayed for few nights in September 2025 (3 rooms), and we highly recommend this hotel. We walked over from the ferry (although very easy to grab a taxi as well), as we wanted to get a lay of the land around the property. So many shops and amazing dining options! The staff were attentive and helpful, and the rooms very comfortable (with modern digital controls for everything). The beds are comfortable with plenty of space for luggage. We enjoyed a fabulous cocktail at their bar after a day of touring, and what a treat. The hotel is an easy place to launch your explorations of Heraklion. We ended our time there with a spa treatment, which was an excellent way to finish a fantastic trip. Do stay here if you are planning any time in Heraklion -- your body will thank you.

my partner and i stayed at this hotel on a romantic break for two - i have to say at first i was a little put off by the look of the surrounding area - and having no view from our balcony - however, the hotel itself is one of the best we've stayed in - and stands out especially for hospitality and service - the staff are very very friendly and helpful. the room itself is beautiful, spacious, modern - everything is controlled by an app you can download or use the tablet in the room - the pool isn't big - but is very nice -. our flight on the last day left late at night. the staff made every effort to make out last day pleasant - even tough we had already checked out. we left our luggage, stayed by the pool and were able to shower and get ready for the flight in the spa. location wise it is within short walking distance to everywhere and has great public transport near by - highly recommend!

After a fight delay and needing to find new accommodation for one night, we came across this hotel as an option and stopped by in person. They offered excellent service and had a room already available for us. Service across the board was really nice, the pool on the roof had a nice view of the sea and mountains and was a great place to relax. Breakfast was also good. The spa was nice and uncrowded. And they even allowed us to use the common areas like restaurant and pool bar areas after we checked out and while waiting for our taxi for the airport. Overall very pleased with the level of service and comfort here and would recommend for anyone looking for a resort-like stay while staying in Heraklion!

Very cozy place which is close to the city either by bus or a slow walk. There is even a lift which helps alot if you have luggage. Only issue was that the bathroom floor gets wet easily and doesnt drain/dry well. Nevertheless had a good stay and enjoyed chilling at the outdoor balcony area.

A good place to stay! Communication with the owner was quick and easy, which made the whole experience very smooth. I especially appreciated the keyless entry with a code—it was so convenient not having to carry keys around. The room was spacious enough for two people and very quiet, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. If you’re arriving by car, there’s a parking lot just to the left of the entrance. That was a big plus for us, as parking in the area can be tricky due to the narrow streets. The city center is about a 15–20 minute walk away, so it’s easy to reach. While the city itself is clean, the immediate area around the apartment is a little bit dirty. There’s also a grocery store just a 5-minute walk away, which was very convenient.

Beautiful room, close to the port. The neighborhood is kind of dirt / no places to go / no restaurants within walking distance at night. Next time we will return to our previous staying in the Old Town (as we did last year and the previous years) and get a cab to the port. Simpler and we can enjoy the evening walking around the Old Town. Also, we had a cleaning incident that was prompted solved by the owners, who were also fast (and friendly) replying to messages. If you absolutely “need” to stay within walking distance to the port, go for it. I prefer (next time) staying at the Old Town and paying a small fee to have a taxi taking us to the port.

Great location with short walk to harbour, bus station and old town. Apartment was stylish, clean, comfortable and quiet with small balcony. Kitchenette was handy. Good communication from Eleni and there is private parking adjacent. Nice bakery and small supermarket just up the road! Fully recommend, would happily stay here again.
Patricia D — Google review
Absolutely perfect stay in these Suites. The host was extremely professional, allowing us to drop our bags using the key code almost instantly. The room decor is stunning, every interior has been thought through. Very eco-looking. Would 100% return.

Really nice modern and stylish room a short walk from the harbour and the bus station, so perfect for our one night stay when arriving by ferry and leaving by bus. It's also within easy walking distance of the old town and its shops and restaurants. We received very good instructions via WhatsApp and it was easy to find the place and check in. The host Eleni communicated really well and made sure that everything was fine during our short stay. The bed was super comfortable, which warrants an extra mention!

I loved this apartment! I had a balcony which I loved, a private bathroom, and comfortable bed. No one was there at check in but I received an email before check in with instructions and checked in with no problems. Great location, everything is within walking distance but there is also a bus station nearby. Plenty of restaurants and cafes right near the apartment. It was a cute room and I would stay again!
Maia — Google review
You can find much better options for the same price. We arrived with no information about check-in and didn’t receive the code for the door. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and overall, the experience was disappointing.
NiliT — Google review
Totally Recommend! I stayed for 5-6 days last month. Amazing apartment in the heart of Heraklion, super close to restaurants and central points. Very quiet, clean and cozy apartment with all the modern amenities needed. Also the self check in system was easy and fast. Super ! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Fr. I — Google review
One of the worst experiences! Very bad sleep not standard! No information on how to get in after booking which made us call the numbers to get codes! Location is good but everything is far below standard!

I had a wonderful experience at the Raise The Heraklion Project! The room was clean, very comfortable, fully-equipped and of high quality. Detailed guidelines regarding check in/out process, as well as many useful information for an enjoyable stay, were sent via emails. I highly recommend these studio appartments for anyone visiting downtown Heraklion (it is located approximately a 10-min walk from the Venetian Harbor). Overall, I had a great experience with the Raise (Heraklion) project and I would definitely send a friend there! Thank you!
Elissavet F — Google review
The location is really good to go around Heraklion. Our apartment was really cute and clean. Nice balcony. Check in and check out are fast and easy. They have a luggage room you can use. Great stay!
Anna C — Google review
An interesting project. The room was clean, the mattress was very comfortable, the decorations tasteful and the use of the available space very smart. The bathroom was great with proper water pressure and hot water all the time. The WiFi connection and speed were also of good quality. The organisers/hosts are helpful and adaptable to communication alternatives! Very good location with the city centre a few minutes away on foot. A definite recommend!

Never got to the apartment due to a flight cancellation so I cannot rate the place but costumer service I can say it is inexistent ! If you need a refund or make arrangements for another dates, forget it. The person in charge of emails doesn't know nothing about costumer service. Sent me a very pleasant message reminding me it was my problem I never got to the property and not their, no change dates or refund possible.

Hotel
Pagopoieîon hotel is a 4-star accommodation in Heraklion, boasting an excellent 91% rating based on 712 reviews. Situated in the heart of Heraklion, near the venetian loggia and offering stunning views of the plaza and Church of Agios Titos. The rooms are elegantly designed with luxurious touches and well-equipped bathrooms. Guests can enjoy a tasty breakfast and great service throughout their stay.
We were very happy with our stay. Although not a full service hotel staff was attentive and helpful. After reading reviews we were concerned about noise from the restaurant below, but had no problems at all. The location was fantastic and our room overlooked a beautiful plaza and church.
Bby41 — Google review
The “hotel”, which are just rooms above a restaurant are very spacious, they look good at first sight. But once staying in there for a few hours you start noticing a lot of dust, you could definitely see that they never cleaned the air-conditioning grills, as they were caked in dust. The shower head was broken off from the hose and you could see some attempt to glue them back together. We have told the cleaning lady this issue the first day but until we checked out, no one attempted to fix it. Apart from these negative things, the location is the best you could find, amazing to explore the city center. Restaurants staff are very nice and welcoming. We also tried the restaurant and the food was delicious. The wine recommendation was amazing. Unlike most places in Heraklion they didn’t try to sell us the most expensive bottle which is always nice and genuine.
Thi A — Google review
Stopped in with my partner and my grandaughters for a late afternoon drink and snack. The service was terrible. The waitress spilt a drink all over me. There was a vague attempt at an apology, but she seemed more concerned with her own embarrassment. Accidents happen, so I was prepared to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt. However, once we'd finished our drinks and a starter, not only did they forget my request for a take-away box but i had to prompt them twice just to get the bill. When they did eventually bring me the bill they had harged us full price! I mean come on. Really? It's the simplest gesture to make to at least not charge for one of the drinks given that I had to endure the rest of my afternoon soaked in Aperol Spritz! This hotel restaurant has the pretentions of a fine dining establishment but with none of the attention to customer experience.
Steve B — Google review
While the hotel itself offered some positive aspects, I must highlight the noticeable lack of hospitality that affected my overall experience. Firstly, the hotel's location was excellent. The room was well-maintained and clean, offering a comfortable and relaxing environment. However, the aspect that disappointed me the most was the lack of hospitality from the hotel staff. As we checked in after midnight there wasn’t any staff which we knew from the beginning. We had to call couple to times up to few hours before arrival we didn’t have the codes to unlock the room. On the following morning the front desk staff seemed disinterested and failed to provide any information about the hotel's facilities or nearby attractions. Their responses were curt, and I felt like I was just another guest to process, rather than a valued customer. Throughout my stay, I encountered numerous instances where the staff appeared unenthusiastic and unhelpful. The housekeeping staff did their job well, their interactions with guests were friendly and polite. What’s even more disappointing is that we haven’t gotten any feedback after contacting the headquarters!! Upon check out today no one offered to help with the suitcases of even took the time to ask how our visit was.
Dominik M — Google review
I warn you in advance, this is not a hotel. It's a restaurant, with a hotel above it. No reception, no service, unbearable noise from the restaurant until 2 am. Be careful not to fall into the trap. It is evident that the restaurant is more important to them than the hotel guests. The only good thing about the hotel is the location I booked the most expensive room, in reality I got the noise of a restaurant at night, the noise of a school (which is nearby) during the day, and a balcony where not even a chair could fit
Barak K — Google review
Directly in the center of Heraklion, next to the venetian loggia. We have had a beautiful few on the plaza in front of the Church of Agios Titos. Rooms are beautifully designed and seem quite luxurious. Bathrooms were great (water pressure in the shower was perfect as well). Breakfast was really tasty and the service was great and accommodation during the whole duration of our stay. The entrance was at first a bit hard to find, it is in the restaurant of the same name. Overall absolutely worth the money and very comfortable rooms for a relaxed stay in the heart of Heraklion.

The Cathedral of Agios Minas is a significant Orthodox place of worship constructed in the 19th century, showcasing intricate religious artwork. The cathedral's courtyard housed a collection that grew through private donations, new acquisitions, and archaeological finds from excavations on the island. Initially located in barracks, the museum was later moved to its current location.
I’ve visited many Orthodox churches, and this one was among the most beautiful. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to fully soak in the atmosphere, but I’m definitely planning to return in the future.

A beautiful and peaceful place to visit in Heraklion. The cathedral is stunning, both inside and out. It’s a perfect spot to admire the architecture and take in the serene atmosphere. After exploring, it’s a great area to enjoy the view, have some delicious food, and relax with a glass of wine at one of the nearby cafés.
Andrei-Ionuț D — Google review
Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous interior. Bypass other tourist destinations and duck in here for an unbelievably opulent interior featuring fabulous frescoes and ornate chandeliers. By happenstance I wandered inside and was left to wonder why my cruise ship shore excursions didnt have this venue as an option.
Paula — Google review
They are renovating so you can only enter the first part of the Cathedral. It stil gives a decent view of the painted ceilings.

A beautiful Cathedral but currently there's renovation work happening inside. There's also a beautiful small chapel next to the cathedral.

Exceptional Cathedral in Heraklion, incredibly beautiful inside - it was nice to see everyone (all the tourists) that were there showing respect whilst in the Cathedral (covering shoulders/removing hats, no camera flashes etc). We choose a good day!

Nestled in a prime location overlooking the harbor and fortress, Marin Hotel offers basic yet comfortable rooms with balconies, some boasting stunning gulf views. The property is popular among business travelers but also appeals to leisure guests due to its convenient proximity to the port and bus stations. The hotel's rooftop dining area provides a lovely setting for breakfast with magnificent views. While some guests noted that the rooms are a bit dated, they appreciated the spaciousness and comfort.
Wonderful fruit plate welcome and friendly breakfast staff. The views and spacious balconies allowed room for daily stretching! We hope to return soon. Thank you!

The location is excellent — close to the harbor, city center, and walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. Great spot if you want to explore Heraklion on foot. The staff were polite and helpful, and the check-in process was quick. Breakfast is served in a restaurant with a beautiful panoramic view, which we really enjoyed. However, the food itself could be more diversified — it was decent but somewhat repetitive over multiple days
Andrei-Ionuț D — Google review
Ideal location, close to the harbour, the old city, the bus to Knossos and the bus terminal. Very helpful receptionists. The view during breakfast is fabulous. Lots of choice from the buffet. The rooms aren't too big but after all you don't come here to sit all day in a room. Very reasonable price.
PP P — Google review
The hotel staff is really nice but the bathroom ruined my experience. The shower was in a corner and only had a curtain on one side?? The curtain didnt even reach the floor and the floor was completely straight so the water didnt even go to the drain but everywhere else. I showered for less then 10 minutes and the entire bathroom was flooded. Apart from that the room card doesnt always work despite recharging it almost every day.
Alexandra O — Google review
Very clean and quiet hotel. The rooms offer enough space, the bathrooms are a bit smaller. The rich breakfast is served in a nice restaurant.
Dumitru B — Google review
We stayed twice at this hotel. It is very convinient location, near the city center and main bus station in Heraklion. The hotel has a great view on the sea and harbour. The breakfast is delicious and fresh. The fresh orange juice is also offered as a part of breakfast beverages. The breakfast room on the top floor offer an extraordinary view! The rooms /beds are really confortable. Hotel location is the best for exploring city as well as for the overnight stay and continue journey around the island. We spent one night in June this year. This time we decide to visit rhe Archeological museum which is a five minutes walking distance from the hotel. I recommend this hotel for s city break, visiting Knosos and Heraklion itself.
Jelena S — Google review
Location and view of the breakfast room are good. The ceiling height of rooms are good, high, but the area size of the room is small, no matter what direction of the wind you set for the air conditioning, the wind will get reflected again into your eyes and you will feel dry or itchy eyes, not much space to walk inside the room. The toilet-shower is like a telephone kiosk, if you are more than thin, your body touches around in the shower part. The room was labelled as double, but I would say it can only be used as a single room, not suitable for a couple at all. They didn't even bother to check the TV is connected or not, for the first few days I thought their TV receiver has issue, but later when I was going to unplug the TV from electricity to put my laptop to electricity, I noticed the TV cable is not connected to TV, if you connect it, then you can actually see a few channels, otherwise nothing. I think if they check rooms carefully, they would see these simple things, at least they never turn on the TV once a while to check if the remote's battery and other things work fine and then notice the TV cable is not connected? Also as I said no electricity other than for the TV plug next to the table, there is only above your head on bed. Maybe only this room was like this, but in general it is a pretty standard guess that many guests would have laptop and would need electricity near the table (not healthy to work with your laptop in bed). But finally, the receptionist is kind, but not honest. When I checked in he said breakfast is included into your room and the time is 6 to 11, even though I didn't ask about breakfast, so he said himself. I asked him, are you sure? He said, yes. So the next morning I went to breakfast, and the lady there said, no it is not included into your room and asked me to sign a receipt to pay later. When the receptionist of check-in time came to his shift, I went and told him that yesterday you said the breakfast is included..., he didn't let me continue and said, no sir, I said it is NOT included. ^_^ I don't think he could forget what he said the day before, because 1- he said it himself, 2- I asked him are you sure and he said it for the second time. So in any case, I found this a little non-honest and tricky. I didn't argue, I said ok and paid, but one breakfast payment this way is not worth loosing a customer for the next time. I would say if that not completely honest conversation/behavior had not happened and the room size was a bit bigger, I would return to this hotel next time, which is not the case, so I would not return to this hotel.

Guests can savor a delightful continental breakfast either in their cozy accommodations or within the hotel's intimate dining area.
the staff was really nice and gave us a lot of advices and recommendations! we had a really good stay at infinity hotel. the location is good, in the center of Heraklion, kinda hard to park close to the hotel but not impossible. the room was big and clean
Clémence G — Google review
Location and service are nice but the view of the rooms is never as seen in the pictures. In an old neighborhood, it has rooms overlooking buildings. But it looks like a seaside in the photos, this is a completely deceptive look
Hale O — Google review
The hotel looks nothing like the photos. They’re taken with flattering angles, lighting, and likely editing. In reality, it’s more like a budget guesthouse. Our room had a strong sewage smell coming from the bathroom. The shower was broken and had no holder. Although it was fixed after we complained, it should’ve been checked in advance. The bathroom trash was full when we arrived — clearly not cleaned properly. The location is shown as central, but it’s actually in a residential area just outside the true city center. Yes, everything is close here, but this place is not in the center as implied. Breakfast is repetitive — same every day. Omelets always included meat, so no vegetarian option. The so-called sea view is mostly blocked by neighboring houses. The balcony isn’t really usable unless you smoke. The hotel is old and in poor condition overall. If you’re expecting a simple guesthouse, it might work. But based on the photos and price, we expected much better. We left disappointed — especially due to the smell and misleading presentation.
Alican E — Google review
Great location not far from city center walking distance and from the sea promenade. Great Service Although my early request for no dairy products in breakfast somehow did not come true on time, the shift manager (Michas ?❣️) rushed himself to fetch some products !! Which made second morning breakfast wonderful. When we had to rush to the bus another Niki shift manager finished working and offered us a ride to the bus station !!! In the whole was a good value for money
E K — Google review
Ignore the check in by app. This is not a tech dependent place. Comfy, clean and quiet which is what I needed. Nice views of Venetian harbour. It served its purposes though was on the exy side compared to other local places that I stayed at.

It is a unique boutique hotel, very stylish, nice staff, the breakfast has everything you need from full English breakfast to continental as well. Spectacular view from our room.
Dorottya C — Google review
Photos are not representative. Hotel is a run down guest house that would require some proper cleaning and M Maintenance… awful smell in the bathroom that is already as big as a closet
