Rainbow Beach is a serene and popular destination known for its clear, calm waters and wide sandy beach, making it a favorite among divers. Visitors can enjoy a variety of services including clean bathrooms, umbrella and chair rentals, water sports, and a volleyball court for added beach fun. The area also features the Rhythms Bar restaurant serving delicious food and drinks at affordable prices.
It’s a beautiful beach with friendly people. We rented chairs and an umbrella. The weather was perfect and the water was so clear and pleasant. The restaurant offers food and drinks and the service was excellent.
Nona — Google review
One of the best beaches on St.Croix. very laid back and chill with jet skis and chairs with umbrellas available upon request ($40) We loved the silky white sand and freedom to enjoy the water and sunshine! Great staff, food and drinks a bit pricey but hey your on vacation...who cares.
Cameo M — Google review
Beautiful unsung beach. Crystal clear water. Low waves. Rentals. Snorkel. Chairs. Jet skis. Resturaunt and full bar.
Ramona J — Google review
The water is clear and warm. You can rent chairs and umbrellas. You can also get jet skis and kayaks and floaties.
Juan T — Google review
Beautiful beach. I’m sure the other beaches are great too but the waters are calmer here. Quite rocky so wear water shoes to be cautious. There’s a restaurant here, jet skis available, snorkeling, and other water activities. I just lounged on the beach. Beach chairs and umbrella available for rental here. No lifeguard on duty. If you’ve got little kids, just be warned there is ganja smoking here.
R H — Google review
Nice beach with a good amount of sea glass scattered about. We saw several jet skis moored here. The parking is tight, just find a spot along the road. It's packed on weekends. The beach goes for longer than you realize so if one spot is filled up just head north.
Tyler D — Google review
Our first time, we brought our own beach gear but you can rent everything from a little shop here also. Amazed at how much there was to see snorkeling! Wasn't too crowded, had fun listening to multiple music sources, met some nice visitors and locals as well. Parking was simple, right on the road. Felt safe and very laid back.
Don C — Google review
Such a cute little beach with a nice restaurant offer food and drinks. They rent what you need for many water sports (kayaks, ski-do, etc) and also chairs for the beach. You can snorkel but I recommend a snorkeling tour if you really want to see amazing animals. We only saw tiny fish which could be fun for the kids. I would also recommend water shoes if you have sensitive feet as the shoreline is quite rocky. Oh and the part… there are bathrooms!!

Buck Island, located just one and a half miles off the coast of St. Croix, is an uninhabited island that has been attracting visitors for over 2000 years. The Kennedys were so impressed with its beauty that they played a key role in preserving it as a National Park and Reef National Monument. This protected area is renowned for its stunning beaches and rich marine life, making it one of the best snorkeling spots in St. Croix.
Best Beach very clear waters. pristine white sandy shoreline. great snorkeling site!
Kato V — Google review
Wonderful National Park, great snorkeling including turtles, black eyed jack, parrot fish, puffer fish, trunk fish, large barracuda, blue tang, needle fish, a huge flounder, extra large conch shells, and a huge carribean lobster. Beautiful sand and water around the island.
Ramona J — Google review
Snorkeling the Buck Island National Monument Reef System was an awe-inspiring adventure! The vibrant marine life and crystal-clear waters create an underwater paradise. The coral formations are a mesmerizing kaleidoscope, showcasing the reef's resilience. Snorkeling through schools of tropical fish felt like navigating a living aquarium. The experienced guides ensured a safe and informative experience, pointing out unique species and sharing fascinating insights about the ecosystem. The visibility was exceptional, allowing us to witness the intricate beauty of the underwater world. The Buck Island National Monument Reef System offers a breathtaking and educational snorkeling experience that surpasses expectations. It's a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and anyone seeking a profound connection with the ocean's wonders. Every moment beneath the waves felt like a magical journey into the heart of marine splendor.
Luxury N — Google review
One of the most amazing beaches I've ever experienced. Soft white sand and warm turquoise water. Really beautiful and romantic. A great place to lay on the sand and get a tan, has spots with shade under trees to enjoy a sandwich. Bring water and food with you. Bring a towel to sit on as well. The beach is long and wide so lots of room for people to lay out. I'd really recommend checking this place out.
Darryl D — Google review
One of the best, Pristine Beach that there is. You will need a Boat to get to it. Snorkeling was amazing around the island which has a protected Coral Reef. A Must go if you visit St. Croix!
Tom B — Google review
National monument, come here only if you can preserve nature. Turtle nests, bird nests, raw nature. Open only during the day. South part has a nice beach and north part has some snorkeling spots. There are some picnic tables but you should carry your garbage away when you are done. Beautiful spot.

Shoys Beach is a secluded public beach located near the Buccaneer Resort east of Christiansted, offering calm waters for swimming and snorkeling. It is a hidden gem within a gated community, providing a quiet and natural getaway for snorkelers. While the snorkeling may not be as impressive as other spots, Shoys Beach still offers opportunities to observe marine life such as lobster, conch, stingrays, eels, and tropical fish.
One of our top beaches on our trip. Soft sand and nice waves. Good for sun bathing, swimming, or snorkeling. It even had a nice sized parking area .
Paul J — Google review
An amazing little beach. Calm waters for swimming, and relaxing. Good size parking lot, and super cool trail down to the beach. Can't recommend enough.
Phil S — Google review
Love this beach - and such a cool walk through underneath the vines. The view is really nice. Not a very wide beach but long ago you can definitely walk down and get some space. You have to go through a gated community but you just say you’re going to the beach and they let you through no problem. Free parking.
B E — Google review
Shoys is a super quite long stretch of sand that only had 2 other people on it when we visited for the day. Parking is ample and the shaded tree tunnel is so unique as an entrance. It is a short walk from the parking. There are shade spots all up and down and the water is sandy to get in much of the sections near the entrance. This beach gives you solitude if that is what you are.looking for.
Brian P — Google review
Beautiful beach, few people, shade, great place to chill, relax, and snorkel! You can walk around the rocky area but wear water shoes as there are tons of sea urchins!
BrendaDB — Google review
My favorite beach on St Croix. Just beautiful! We went on a Thursday at the beginning of March and hardly anyone was there. Ample shade and a unique entrance through a “tunnel” made of tree branches. There are no facilities at this beach so bring plenty of water and snacks.
Arlene M — Google review
One of the best beaches on island with a wide shore and plenty of shade. Great snorkeling and underwater dive action! Also, if you're into collecting rocks at the beach, there are lots of varieties, including a loooot of serpentinite.
Ade R — Google review
Nice beach, quiet with few people. Good area to snorkel. Plenty of shade as well. When you turn in off the road go to the gatehouse on the right.

Cane Bay Beach is a bustling and popular spot known for its scuba diving opportunities, with nearby eateries, bars, volleyball courts, chair rentals, and kayak tours. Just 200 yards offshore lies the famous Cane Bay Wall where divers can explore the Puerto Rico Trench's depths teeming with tropical fish, corals, and occasional marine visitors like sharks and humpback whales. The beach offers easy shore access along with amenities such as restaurants, sunbed rentals, and dive shops.
Our favorite spot of the trip. Great snorkeling, abundance of shade, drinks were 30 feet away or bring a cooler and the best island restaurant in my opinion. Food was a little pricey, but you only live once. I'd recommend water shoes and be careful of the sea urchins.
Erick C — Google review
Phenomenal beach! not too crowded, on a Tuesday midday, and plenty of shade, quiet. We enjoyed a few hours on this gorgeous beach and my husband saw two sea turtles while snorkeling near the shore. Lots of food vendors nearby as well. Ample parking along the street.
Ariel W — Google review
Great beach with shade!! Easy access to the beach, trash cans, plenty of space. Stay close to the boat ramp for the best sand and less rocks.
American E — Google review
Beautiful beach and a very nice and scenic drive getting there. It was pretty busy, so if you want seclusion, this is not the place. But if you want a nice beach with friends and some good services around, it is a great place to go.
Paul J — Google review
Found it to be a lot smaller than thought… nice beach bar & restaurant across the street with a killer Chicken Cesar wrap!! good place to view the sunset.
Jennifer S — Google review
Our favorite beach on STX. The mountains in the backdrop, palms, great snorkeling, and amazing sunsets ☀️ set this beach apart! The water is usually pretty calm and there is a really nice sandy swimming area right near the old cement pier. Great restaurant options within short walking distance as well.
Andrew S — Google review
Great little beach area. We went on a weekday and had the beach to ourselves with parking right by.

Beach
Pelican Cove Beach, also known as Cormorant Beach, is a stunning destination that perfectly captures the essence of St. Croix's natural beauty. With its soft sands and crystal-clear waters, this beach offers an idyllic setting for relaxation and adventure alike. The area is renowned for its excellent snorkeling opportunities, where visitors can encounter vibrant marine life such as blue tangs and parrotfish swimming around the nearby coral reefs.
I don't ever recall Pelican as being a calm beach. So it is no surprise that after so many years the waves still come crashing in. I don't remember so much seaweed being ashore though. I am happy to see that a fair amount of coconut trees have survived the hurricanes. We loved getting battered by the waves as kids and it's good to see kids today still enjoying that. ** They are remnants of condos & hotels in the area (and further up the coast) that nature's reclaiming. The reoccurring question in my head as I kept seeing these abandoned places is How were these businesses able to break free from the responsibility of cleaning up their messes? I'd like to see what becomes of this coastline in 10 years.
Gl Z — Google review
Nice. Not super calm and you'll catch a lot of plant wash up. Fun to walk and see the views. There is a cove section where you can swim/snorkel but most of it I wouldn't recommend trying.
Tyler D — Google review
Here's a pic for comparison. My wife and I stayed here in Nov 2012 and really enjoyed it. Beach was beautiful then and it was very peaceful. Sorry to see that the business failed. Maybe someone will reclaim it someday.

Cramer Park Beach, located on St. Croix's East End near Point Udall, is a popular spot for locals and families. The beach offers shallow and calm waters, making it perfect for swimming and playing. Snorkeling is also rewarding here, with colorful marine life visible beyond the rock ledge and seagrass. The nearby East End Road provides stunning water views but requires caution due to its lack of shoulder.
This is a really nice public park and beach, close to the east end of Saint Croix and Point Udall. There are clean public bathrooms and even showers. There are picnic tables and there may be an area that allows camping, but I’m not sure about that. The beach was nice and clean and sandy.
Ana G — Google review
Great place to swim, or just kick back and relax. It was quiet. After noon we saw a few more people, but almost no one was in the water. There are shade trees here along the beach so once you've had enough sunshine you can sit back and watch the waves in the shade. They also have covered patios, that appear to be rentable. They also have charcoal grills here. Great place to stop on the east end.
Tyler D — Google review
This is a locals beach and they are doing a lot of building reconstruction currently, but the restrooms are open. This beach has plenty of shade trees to choose from and is quite long. It is pretty rocky just as you enter so better for snorkling than relaxed floating. Plenty of parking and picnic areas available.
Brian P — Google review
This is probably the 2nd best beach in the island only second to Jack beach!! White sand, clear tranquil waters, coconut trees, picnic tables and plenty of shade. Go during the weekdays and it's all to yourselves. You can see Buck island a short distance away. Amazing!!
Juan G — Google review
The most beautiful and quiet beach in St. Croix!! And I've been to them all. Very kid/family friendly. Located on the east end of the island 2 minutes from Point Udall.
Sallmae H — Google review
Beautiful place to go relax and enjoy the relaxing waves. Place looks clean and up to date. Parking distance is close by. Bathrooms available. Closing hours are a bit early, 5:00 p.m. due to covid restrictions rules.
Brenda O — Google review
My daughter’s fave beach on STX. Water was a little rough but fine. Sand was great, and water was warm. Got visited by some chickens. There are small trees on the beach for shade. The location on Google Maps is wrong. This beach is right by Cramer Beach park. Park was being rebuilt as a hurricane previously wiped it out.
S P — Google review
Gorgeous beach, soft sand, clear water and a view of Buck island. There’s shade, bathrooms, and picnic areas. It has not been crowded at all, nothing but peaceful and laid back. I have heard that on weekends there will be more folks and as we get into May and June the crowds will pick up as well.

The beach offers excellent snorkeling opportunities when the weather permits, thanks to its rocky shore and nearby reef that support diverse marine life. Accessible via Route 82 (E. End Rd.

Beautiful beach, we didn’t see anyone but the people on boats in the 3 hours we were there. Surf was rough and lots of rocks, maybe okay for snorkeling on a calmer day, not great for swimming. Fantastic to lay and get some sun and watch the boats come into the marina and out to buck island. Get dinner at the galleon after!!
Bridget C — Google review
Lovely secluded and shady beach. We had it all to ourselves and saw only one other couple the whole day. It was very windy and choppy so we didn't get to snorkel the reef but we enjoyed swimming! The dirt road in is manageable with any SUV and the entrance is a marked by small metal gate to the right before the marina entrance.

Sandy Point Beach, located on the southwestern tip of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, is a 3-mile stretch of stunning beach and part of the 380-acre Sandy Point Wildlife Preserve. This pristine beach is known for its azure waters and lovely sand, making it an ideal spot for swimming and relaxation. However, visitors should note that facilities are limited at this beach.
Only open on weekends due to the protection of nesting sea turtles. This is a lovely clean beach. It’s a short shaded walk from the very busy parking area. It’s also a National Park, so you can find info about the nesting sea turtles. Do not bring anything that needs to be dug or pushed into the ground such as umbrellas. They are not allowed bc the sea turtle nests can be damaged. Same goes for dogs.
Christine B — Google review
First, massive respect to the people who come here to enjoy our beaches and leave no Trace. If you're bringing your dogs to the beach please clean up after them!! This is the most beautiful beach in Cruz, you will be hard-pressed to find one better. Let's keep it that way so others can enjoy paradise. If you are looking for bars, restaurants, and such this playa is the total opposite. This jewel is a peaceful, serene, natural escape.
Gl Z — Google review
If there is one beach you visit in St. Croix, this should be the one. It is only open on weekends during the non hatching season, so plan accordingly. Beautiful soft sand and the crowd is small. The best beach of the trip!!
Paul J — Google review
It is a shame that this park with its several beaches is only open on weekends. Sandy Point offers several beautiful, sandy beaches with stunning views and beautiful, aquamarine waters. When we arrived, the beach was mostly empty, but be forewarned that there are no real amenities here. But if you’re looking for a quiet sandy beach with beautiful views and privacy, you can’t beat Sandy Point
Huttner F — Google review
This is a turtle sanctuary so it is only open to the public Saturday-Sunday 10 AM to 4 PM except during turtle mating season when it is closed to the public. There are three beaches with small parking lots that fill up quickly and fairly far from anything on St. Croix so they are not crowded and very well maintained because people are expected to help maintain the sanctuary. The water itself is also pristine.
Aleksander P — Google review
What a fantastic beach. If you want a beach, this is where to go. The sea is a perfect azure colour and the sand is lovely. Coming here for a few hours to enjoy the beach and go for a swim is a great way to spend the morning, bit hot in the afternoon. If there is one issue, it’s the lack of facilities. If you want the loo you have to go for a drive. Other than that, the place is an ideal location to spend time on the beach. The water is so warm and clear, just lovely.
Andy S — Google review
We loved learning about the sea turtle and bird conservation efforts by two amazing nature conservationists - one a veteran with many years of experience and another a newbie. Protestant Cay is a small island located in Christiansted Harbor, St. Croix. It's within walking distance of attractions like Fort Christiansvaern and the Steeple Building. The island features an ancient cemetery with burial sites dating back to the 1600s and offers beautiful beaches nearby for relaxation and water activities such as snorkeling and kayaking.

Tim K — Google review
Beach Hotel on the Cay is a fantastic spot! It has a small restaurant, and you can rent chairs and umbrellas for a comfortable day. We loved the beach and had an amazing time there. Just keep in mind, bringing your own cooler isn’t allowed. A great place to relax and enjoy the sun! On the other hand, Hotel on the Cay is not as advertised online. The property is in serious need of renovations, the pool is out of service, and there is no on-site restaurant. Disappointing compared to expectations.
Mayra S — Google review
During our trip we stayed at Hotel On The Cay and had a chance to check out other beach areas. Besides the Buck Island, I think this is the best spot to go for swimming. There's a bit more space to spread people around without laying too close to each other in compare to other beach on the island. Furthermore, onsite there are beach chairs, umbrellas and food that are available for a fee (as well as a restroom). The only downside is when holidays comes around everyone seem to flock on this beach and can get pretty noisy. We saw a few people drunk and loud music blaring to a point that it became annoying. Other than that, this is likely the best spot for a beach day on the island.

We tool the ferry over to spend some time on the beach and have lunch. The restaurant was a tiny dive, so we didn't eat there. Our impression of the hotel in one word was "shabby." We would never consider staying there. Heard hotel staff comment that many of the air conditioners were not working.

Nice little island with a great beach for snorkeling, or just relaxing. Hotel guests can be a little messy, so I do wish the hotel staff cleaned the beach more often or enforced cleanliness.

Love it here. Shortly after the hurricanes they were hosting travelers. Not everything was functional ( bar, rest., etc.) but it was very liveable. Short ferry ride to the board walk makes the entire town accessible. Not fancy but very comfortable.

Dorsch Beach, situated just south of downtown Fredericksted, is a long and narrow crescent-shaped beach that offers an ideal setting for sunbathing and swimming. While snorkeling may not be the main attraction here, the calm and clear waters are perfect for paddling. A paved walkway lines the beach, attracting locals who come to stroll, swim, and unwind on weekends. Snorkelers should take precautions to ensure their visibility to passing boats.
Dorsey Beach is our beach on the island. Nice calm water where you can snorkel along the shore. No worries about sharks are dangerous animals.

Peaceful and picture-perfect beach! Dorsch Beach is a beautiful, relaxing spot with clear and calm water, ideal for swimming, snorkeling or just unwinding by the shore. It’s a family-friendly beach with natural shade in some areas, making it comfortable for a day visit. The sunsets here are absolutely stunning, making it a perfect place to wind down in the late afternoon. 📌 Tip: Some parts of the beach are rocky, so bringing water shoes is a good idea. Parking is available along the roadside. A serene, scenic spot that offers the perfect blend of beauty and tranquility. 🌅🌴🏖️

Ohhh my! What a beautiful beach. Sandy, Clear calm waters.. I brought my dog for a swim and she loved it… she’s not a fan of waves and it was super calm for her.

Gorgeous beach. It would be easy to accidentally drive by or not come this way at all if staying on the other side of the island. That’s ok, more for us in Fredericksted ;) Soft and plunging sand, good swimming, great bites at Sand Castle By The Sea hotel. And of course the west facing sunsets!

Great water to swim in, although the current can be very strong at times, so stay aware. Plenty of parking; nice spot to cool and hold a vibes. Mampi dem ah bite early in the day and after 6 or so, and sand can get HOT - still plenty of shade under ah sea grape tree. Nice

Played a round recently and found the front 9 greens heavily sanded, which made putting a bit of a challenge. Fortunately, the back 9 was in much better shape. The course wasn’t busy—we only had to play through one foursome—so pace of play was good. As always, the views here are incredible and make the round worthwhile. My brother-in-law was visiting from out of town and rented a set of clubs, which were in excellent condition. For anyone planning a round, I recommend calling Kenny to book a tee time.
Tom K — Google review
9 on a beautiful end of Feb afternoon. Everyone was pleasant. After 2 days of good rain, I found the course very playable. It drains quickly (or the ground was very thirsty), some breath taking views, nicely designed imo... I'm a casual (for fun) golfer so I don't have the desires or needs of those who are serious. Yes, some of the sand traps are now grassy & I've seen nicer fairways/greens. But I don't know what = normal in the Caribbean. And I've been on very similar feeling courses in Florida. A great time was had. $147/ 1/2 round + clubs/cart/9 used balls/ 5 plastic tees. Oh! I Parred #5. 😎
MJ M — Google review
Super friendly staff. The course is very hilly. Fairways and sand traps are in kinda bad shape.
Richard K — Google review
Very nice course with UH-Mazing views! I'm sure it's hard to keep the fairways green. They were pretty dead/dry. Clubhouse staff was great! 18 holes, 2 sets of clubs & a cart was $210. Not terrible :) Always perfect weather to play.
Erin M — Google review
This course has much to be desired but the views are second to none. The staff is very friendly and helpful but the fairways and greens are far from the high price of admission. I understand the drought is rough but to tout the presidents visit here over Christmas break and hold the carts on the path is an understatement to the quality that is lacking here. Not sure what it would damage other than help with the weed control.. it did look like they were adding sprinklers so maybe next year it will be better.
Brian P — Google review
Challenging course. The yardage looks small but the rises and vallies are huge
Spaghetti 6 — Google review
A fine track, about 5600 yds from the tips, not much difference to the whites. Greens in good shape , though could be rolled more often. Nice elevation changes and great views. The few traps could use some sand, couldn't be that hard to find. I will play the course again.

Buck Island Beach, located off the shore of St. Croix, is a pristine and uninhabited island accessible by boat or kayak. The beach boasts clear waters and stunning views underwater, with an underwater trail on one side of the island. Visitors can charter a boat to reach the island and are advised to make use of their time there as it's controlled by the National Park Service.
The nicest beach we have been to, and a good place to snorkel for turtles (try near the old pier). We took a full day cruise and explored through a snorkel company. No regrets. We highly recommend you make this part of your itinerary. There are also hiking trails! Bring some solid shoes there are poisonous plants on the island. They do have restrooms and some picnic areas. Pack it in and out and keep it looking nice!

Clear water and the best beach you will find in the St. Croix Virgin Islands area. The temperature is perfect and the views underwater is stunning. On the other side of the island is a underwater trail all marked on the oceans floor. The only way to the island is by charter. We experienced it through Big Beard Adventure. Check out my review on them. The time on the island is also controlled by the National Park Service. So, take advantage of the island while you are there.

Buck Island never fails to completely captivate me. Pristine, untouched, protected land, beach, and reef system. Highly recommend that you go here, just remember to leave it as it is for generations to come! You can sail in and snorkel on your own or book a charter that will take you to the beach, hiking, or snorkeling.

Cameo M — Google review
We took a trip to Buck Island Beach with Big Beard Adventure. We sailed on a big catamaran with Capt. Curtis, 1st Mate Jackie, Dom and Tristan. The first stop was the beach and it's exactly how you picture a tropical island beach, white sand and crystal blue water. We swam and snorkeled for about 45 minutes and then re-boarded the boat to sail around the island to snorkel on the reef. There is an underwater snorkel trail and again it was the perfect experience. I was worried the trip to Buck Island was overrated, but I think it's perfect for a day trip with moderate activity and exceptional views. Our particular trip also included a stop on a St Croix beach for a barbeque lunch and swim. I know there are multiple trip providers for Buck Island, so pick one and enjoy the adventure!

Columbus Landing Site is a serene and secluded beach on the North Shore, known for its historical significance as the place where Christopher Columbus met local natives in the 15th century. The beach offers opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving just offshore. While it may have areas with seagrass and occasional seaweed, it's still a fascinating spot to explore with informative placards explaining its history.
Columbus Landing Site is an interesting historical spot to spend a few minutes. There are placards explaining the history. Lots of natural debris on the beach and thankfully not a lot of garbage. No facilities or anything.

Tyler D — Google review
Not really anything to see but fascinating to know the history behind this spot. Also some pretty good snorkeling here, especially if you head to the right towards where it leads into Salt Bay. Yes the seaweed can be heavy and smell, but read up on how that benefits the island.
Mark C — Google review

Henriette R — Google review
There’s not a lot here, just a single informational plaque put up by the NPS. The beach is fun to explore, as there is a lot of washed up shells and such.
Emma C — Google review
No tickets required. Nothing here but a sign. It would be easy to miss. A local was enjoying his lunch break parked in the shade. There was trash everywhere and it seemed like there was a homeless camp just inside the treeline. Howver, as a fan of Christopher Columbus it was exciting to be in the spot he landed at and imagine what it would have been like to explore Saint Croix before the homes were built. I am not sure if there used to be anything here, but definitely deserves a monument.
Timothy B — Google review
Not much from a historical perspective: there is no signage or explanation of the significance of the site. That being said, it is a nice beach where you can sit and eat that food you picked up at La Reine Chicken Shack. After lunch, take a stroll east to look at the Salt River bay.

This beach is at the Buccaneer Resort but is open to the public. Just tell the gate your going to the beach. This is a great cresent strip of white sand beach with no rocks upon entry lined by mature palms. The beach chairs and umbrellas are open to the public as well. It might be a little busier than Shoy, just up the street but it is very kids friendly. This spot will make you St Croix beach photo frame for sure. The wait staff will take your order to have right at the beach chairs and are super friendly. The food is from the Mermaids restaurant right behind the beach, so you have options to eat at a table or beachside. Food and cocktails were excellent. Wish we found this one earlier in our trip.
Brian P — Google review
The beach is located inside the Buccaneer Resort and I did not understand if the actual name is homonymous to the resort or if it is confused with Grotto beach 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ However, the seabed is already rocky on the shore, so you have to pay attention to the sea urchins hidden here and there. By far our best restaurant experience in the island! Great vibes with a gorgeous view of the sea as it's right across the street from Rainbow Beach. Highly recommend Win's Bush Tea, which is made there and they will put vodka in it, if desired. I like my cocktails, but found this better without alcohol. They had a duo playing steel drums and guitar which was very nice, they were quite good. The food was good, they had fresh tuna - was good in the tacos and poke style served raw.

My favorite spot on STX with a great beach view of Cane Bay. Lots of great choices on the menu and daily specials. We were there the day they had lobster with two sides. We got the large for $75 and shared it. Great bar with mixed drinks-pain killer is my fav. Also they carry Local Leatherback beer. You can also order from a take out window to take drinks to the beach. We enjoyed live music n the grass on Wednesday night. Highly recommend Win’s home made rum cakes. Almond Amaretto was one of my favorites. We tried the triple crown -sampler of 3 rum cakes.

Fantastic Sunset Vibes and Great Bites at The Landing Visited The Landing at Cane Bay with a group of four and had a fantastic evening. We grabbed seats at the bar just in time to catch a stunning sunset over the water—definitely one of the best views on the island. The fish and chips were excellent—crispy, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. Unfortunately, they were out of lobster that night, which was a bit of a letdown, but the rest of the food more than made up for it. We ended on a high note with their delicious rum cake—moist, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. As always, I ordered my go-to drink, the Win Zinger. If you know, you know—it never disappoints. Friendly staff, chill atmosphere, and unbeatable location. Highly recommend for a laid-back evening by the sea.

Condominium complex
The Gentle Winds Condominiums offer a delightful snack bar with delicious food and beverages. The condos themselves are stunning, featuring a fantastic pool and beautiful beach access.
Beautiful spot. I'd argue one of the best on the island considering seclusion and view. Christiansted right down the road and Frederiksted 20 minutes or so. The one negative, and depending on your interests may not even be one at all, is there is a very limited area to swim in ocean. Just past the rope is coral and rock. Normally that's a positive, however the water is fairly shallow which doesn't provide much room for snorkeling without risk of damaging the coral and/or yourself. If you don't care about that, it's tough to beat. If you do care about that, just make the short drive to Cane Bay or over to Frederiksted. That's what we did and relaxed by pool at the resort. While we prefer the western side of the island due to calmer waters and better swimming/snorkeling, we'd definitely still return. As some have noted, the beach bar is great when it's open. Hours are iffy during the summer months apparently but understandable with fewer guests.
Mark C — Google review

We stayed at Gentle Winds for 10 days during their off season (early July). We had two groups that ranged from teenagers to gen x to boomers. There is certainly enough there for everyone to enjoy. The pool and pool area were always clean and open, the beach was well maintained (removed sea weed from shoreline), the activity center had plenty of fun games (although the games - ping pong, shuffle board, cornhole, etc. have seen better days), the tennis courts were clean and in good shape. The snack bar/hut was nice, but the hours should have been extended early evening (closed most days around 4:30ish, some days it wasn't open at all). They also had several gas/charcoal grills available for the renters/owners. The unit we stayed in was very clean and had everything we needed. The owner was very responsive and flexible for us (although YMMV with other owners). Overall, we had a great time and even discussed a return trip.

This place is beautiful until you encounter the Karen policing the beach. Our rental unit instructed us to use this beach however the Karen we ran in to would not allow any access to the beach chairs or even the bar.
Chris P — Google review
Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for 10 days on the island. When you drive up there's tall palm trees lining a well paved road. The conuminium we had was dated but the location and the view and the beach and the pool more than made up for anything a bit outdated. The pool goes from 3ft to 10 ft deep with no lifeguard. It's nice and cool and refreshing. A stone's throw away is the ocean with a buoy marker that roughly tells you where it's safe to swim. The water is kind of active or at least it was when we were there so I had to have an eye open for my kids. The sand drops steeply before the water so it's not exactly the best place to always be watching from the chair and does require some active parenting. That said, it was so nice and beautiful to slow walk the beach with the kids that I have no regrets. The bar / restuarant was open until 4:30 I'm not sure when it opened. I had the ahi tuna burger (super delicious) and ordered quesadillas for the boys. The sweet potato fries were a healthy serve. Since we were there over christmas there was a christmas tree in the book room (not sure what else to call it). There is also games like shuffle boards and cornhole on the beach available to everyone. My boys loved how many crabs there were in the bushes and we spent long hours there. This is where we'd stay if we came back to the island without a doubt.

Nearby dining options include Pollys at the Pier, which serves wraps and rice bowls, and The Fred eatery with its seafood salads and lobster rolls. While the beach has clear waters ideal for snorkeling, it's important to be cautious of the rocky shore by wearing water shoes.
We really enjoyed the beach. The water was great, just be careful of the rocks getting into the water. Lots of great music playing around us and a neat fort and cannons set the view. Sugar Beach is situated on the north shore, just east of Christiansted in an area known as "condo row". The beach offers a mix of shaded spots under palm trees and open areas for sunbathing. While the calm waters are ideal for snorkeling, there is a notable presence of sea grass on the ocean floor that can occasionally wash up onto the beach. This makes it more suitable for lounging than swimming. Depending on the season, algae levels may affect swimming conditions.

Frederiksted Pier, located on the west end of St. Croix, is a popular spot for fishing charters and a hub for snorkelers and divers. The 1,526-foot pier's concrete pilings are teeming with sea creatures like seahorses, lobsters, and barracudas, making it an ideal destination for beginners and families. This expansive pier can accommodate two cruise ships and is even designed for use by submarines.
This is a small town port for the cruise ships we were Anchored in front of Rainbow Beach. We had limited snorkeling because a ship was in and we were told we could snorkel near the pier when cruise ships are in If you are sailing on your own private boat great Anchorage, and the snorkeling around your boat is Amazing I had 8 Turtles from huge to tiny under the boat. Dinghy can tie up to the wall at the very front of the pier, watch out for snorkelers.

Clean, friendly, inviting and fun! You could just hang out at the pier and beach all day when at port here. We decided to kayak at Salt River Marina which was amazing. Booked a 4hr self guided and it was well worth it. Returned and spent a few hours at the beach. Reasonable drinks, good selection, good ribs n chicken combo plate too. Really enjoyed our visit, even though it rained... we were in the water anyway! No issues here... highly recommend!

Excellent snorkelling location. As you stand on land and look at the pier entry, just to the left are some steps. Make entry to the water here. The rocks around here have lots of colourful fish. If you follow the shore on your right, you will eventually get to the pier. This is a micro dive location, with lots of coral, colourful fish etc around the pier legs. If a cruise ship is in port, this area is off limits, guards will move you away. Back more centrally into the ocean are two old mooring points. This is the old pier which was mostly destroyed in a hurricane. These points are full of coral and beautiful fish, well worth the swim out. Around the seagrass as you swim back to shore, you can see rays and sea turtles! One of the best snorkelling sites I’ve been to!

We were here on a Royal Caribbean cruise. We came last year too, and took a bus tour instead of walking into town. This time, we stayed and just walked to see the sights. We had more fun just sightseeing than the bus tour. My wife uses a power wheelchair, and even with a manual chair, the load/unload on the bus is a chore. The town is lovely, mostly friendly to our wheelchair, and plenty of shopping. We enjoyed our day there.

In good order pier, one or two minutes from all stuff to eat and drink. The walk from. The boat to the pier end is longer than the walk from the end to beer!

Off the Wall at Cane Bay is a popular spot for divers to relax after exploring the North Shore's Cane Bay Wall. The beachside location offers stunning sunset views and the chance to spot whales during winter. The menu features deli sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, calzones, and pizzas with various toppings. Visitors can also enjoy waterfront views at Pollys at the Pier and AMA at Cane Bay.
Calzones were delicious! Setting is spectacular. We enjoyed our visit during the sunset and man….its something. You’re watching the waves and soaking in the views. Our drinks were excellent. The bartender was great and chatted with us while we enjoyed our evening. The only complaint I have is that there were the little bugs starting to bite as the sun went down. No worries though, the bartender provided us with OFF, and we were back in business. (It’s an outdoor bar, c’est la vie). Service is slower than what you find stateside, but you’re in island time and it’s really nice to slow down and enjoy the moment. We will be back

Everything was fantastic! While I would describe the food as simple or basic, it still felt fitting for the setting. The breathtaking views combined with the charming beachside restaurant atmosphere truly elevated the experience. There’s something magical about being there at sunset, with the vibrant colors reflecting off the water and the gentle sound of waves in the background. It's the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal, making it a delightful place to unwind. 🌇

Off the wall quickly became one of our happy places on St Croix. We ended up there 3 times over the course of our visit. Very good and fairly priced food, fantastic view, especially of the sunset and friendly welcoming staff. Everything we had was good: tacos (fish & BBQ pork), veggie egg rolls, burgers, but our favorite were the fries... Some of the best anywhere!

Lovely seaside bar and grill tucked away on the northwestern side of the island. The Surf n Turf burger was good. I popped in for a late lunch. The place looks like a great time during the sunset and evening and will go back. Very close to a beautiful snorkeling beach.

Off the Wall is a great spot on Cane Bay. On a recent trip, we enjoyed Off the Wall twice for lunch. The location is right on the water and the bar has a great selection. The food was excellently prepared. The staff was attentive and offered suggestions for drinks and food. The BLT was amazing.

Food was good. Got the hot breath burger and mac and cheese (get the beans as MC was fair) and burger was good not a preprocessed patty it was scratch, and other couple got onion rings (very good btw) and smash burger with black beans / rice was good. Drinks were good $14 for frozen and $6 beer. Atmosphere was great as right next to ocean with beautiful very view. Staff very nice and checks up on you.

The Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge is one of the most beautiful beaches on St. Croix and is only open during the weekend and when there is a cruise ship in port. The beach opens at 10 AM and closes at 4 PM, so make sure to check the website or call ahead to reserve a spot! The refuge features stunning views of nature, including whales, dolphins, seagulls, turtles, and more.
Went to the north beach. It's picture perfect. Not too crowded on the beach even when the parking lot is full & cramped. There is a walk, then a steep hill to get to the water so make sure everyone in the family can handle that. No shade near the water!! Can't dig on this beach, must be respectful of turtles.

I loved this beach it was absolutely beautiful. The road there was very rocky but we didn’t mind. It was worth it and absolutely stunning.

The refuge itself is closed seasonally, but the long beautiful sandy beach before you get to the reserve is one of my favorite places on earth. On 6/21 I get to go to the refuge to watch for turtle hatchlings and make sure they make it to the water. I can't wait!

Bee-u-tee-full! Because just saying beautiful hardly describes the north beach at Sandy Point. My cousins brought me here for a wonderful afternoon of fun and sun. The mampee loves the taste of my Texas skin, but thankfully I met this super cool lady, Dr. Marni, that hooked me up with bug spray, soothing ointment, and bug repellent. If you do come here, bring your own shade.

Conditions of the surf and beach entry change from week to week. Very pristine and expansive beach. For first time visitors, there is no shade and umbrellas or shade features that have to be pushed into the sand are prohibited. Sandy Point is only open on weekends and is closed several months during turtle nesting season.

One of my favorite places to eat in St Croix. I love wings and this place did not disappoint. Great service and atmosphere. It’s right on the beach and elevated so the view is a strong point as well.

Absolutely Amazing Beachside Dining Experience! Louie & Nachos Beach Bar in Frederiksted, St. Croix, is hands down one of the best beach bars I’ve ever visited! If you’re looking for a laid-back, authentic island vibe with stunning oceanfront views, this is the place to be. Situated right on the beach, you get a front-row seat to all the action—snorkeling, jet skis, and even the pier in the distance. It’s the perfect spot to soak in the beauty of St. Croix while enjoying fantastic food and drinks. If you’re expecting air conditioning, you won’t find it here—but trust me, you won’t need it! The refreshing sea breeze and the relaxed atmosphere make for an unforgettable dining experience. We ordered the Hangover Nachos with shrimp, and they were absolutely delicious! Instead of traditional tortilla chips, they use house-made potato chips, which added an incredible crunch and flavor. Honestly, this dish alone is worth the visit—it’s the ultimate hangover cure! One of the standout features of this spot is the a la carte tacos menu, allowing you to mix and match different flavors for just $7–$8 each. We took full advantage of this and tried a variety! My husband went for the Jambalaya and Blackened Mahi Mahi tacos, while I opted for the Vegan, Blackened Shrimp, and Fajita tacos. Every single one was bursting with flavor—except for the Vegan taco, which wasn’t my favorite, but hey, you can’t win them all! Beyond the incredible food, the service was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome. The location is also super convenient—just a 10-minute walk from the pier, making it an easy stop for cruise passengers or anyone exploring Frederiksted. If you’re in St. Croix, Louie & Nachos Beach Bar is an absolute must-visit. Great food, amazing views, and the perfect beach bar experience—I will definitely be back next time I’m on the island!

The service was absolutely terrible. Slow, the servers were on their phones the entire time and seriously acted like we were bothering them. They also had pajamas and house shoes on, rude and short as well - upset I didn’t want to order alcohol. Food was decent, but honestly I expected to get sick from it as all of the cold ingredients were lukewarm & not cold. (Salad, ranch, lettuce). The MAHI BLT had no bacon in it - zero- that’s the whole point of a BLT? Views were great but I wouldn’t come back.
Rebekah D — Google review
Louis & Naco’s is hands-down one of the best spots on the island. Great vibes, great food—just awesome all around. Every visit feels like a treat, and it’s definitely one of my personal favorites. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!

Perfect place for a quick bite after a dive or day on the beach. The view can't be beat and the food is amazing. One of our must whenever we are on the island.

Best bar on the island. Best view of the water. 10 steps to the ocean. Great atmosphere, great drinks. Super friendly staff. Food was fun and affordable. We ate here at least once a day on our week long trip. They also make the best painkiller on the island.
Cory K — Google review
This place serves some of the best tacos ever! They may not be the world's best, but I'd go back every single day if I could. The flavour on the taco was well seasoned and fresh and the pineapple juice was quite refreshing. The fries were also well seasoned and had a good crunch to them. The view is also wonderful for sunsets with Sandy Point visible.

Nice place to grab a bit to eat and drink right next to the water. Good breeze to cool off and beautiful views. Service was on point with no issues. Definitely a spot to chill after a long day of swimming and boating.

Fort Frederik, also known as Frederiksfort, is a vibrant European fort built in the mid-18th century to protect colonial economic interests from pirate attacks. This historic site in St. Croix played a significant role in the island's history, serving as the location where emancipation was declared in 1848 after a revolt led by enslaved people. The fort's stunning red hue stands out against the blue ocean and it is conveniently located near St.
The fort was very interesting. A lot more information here than Fort Christiansvern actually. It was not fully open, but we were glad to find it open after several tries on other days, even though it was a children’s museum event, they let us walk through! Enjoyed all the exhibits.

Fort Frederik was inspiring. Brings you back to a much different time in history. The fort itself needs a lot of work but was recently approved for a 6.4 million dollar grant. Lots of art work from locals and tons of information about its history. Worth the 5 dollar donation to check everything out.. Having someone there to answer questions would have been a plus and would have gotten the 5th star.
Nick N — Google review
$5 cash per person, no credit cards, interesting history boards on the walls of the fort. I felt like highschoolers made the boards with content. They have an art room which is very basic not actual art from that Era, and really is art from 12th graders. I think the rooms could have been staged more on the bottom of the fort. The captains quarters was staged nicely and gave realistic view of how people lived in the fort. It's self guided. Would be nice to have a guided tour offered at times.

Isaac Bay is a secluded and serene white sand beach that offers a peaceful escape for nature lovers. Accessible by a short hike, it remains devoid of tourists most of the time, allowing visitors to enjoy the stunning stretch of sand in solitude. The offshore snorkeling experience is excellent with vibrant brain corals, although the strong current requires caution. The bay's tranquil atmosphere and healthy coral make it an ideal choice for those seeking a remote snorkeling adventure.
I cannot even begin to tell you how beautiful this place is! I love the fact that it seems so private because not too many people are willing to take a hike down to the beach. I know that when you hear haikyuu think that is some serious hard task to do, but I am not a person that is 100% in shape and it was just fine for me. The hike was actually amazing because you were able to see some of the crabs walking around along with other pieces of nature. My husband and I visited the speech twice during our visit and we just loved how private it was. Absolutely a gorgeous beach and hike. Made it down here from Point Udall with a two and one year old in tow. Pack in and out type of place. My only recommendation is to bring an umbrella or small tent for shade. We made our own make shift shelter from random things we found on the beach. The hike back up was a bit more challenging in the heat of the day so plan wisely and dont wear yourself out from swimming. Great place!

Very nice lunch with friends. Plenty of room with beach view and access. Friendly staff. We shared appetizers and salads. So not to sure on how good the food is. What we had was a very nice time.

Very nice facility. I would rate overall 3.5. Ocean view is beautiful. To go into the ocean in front of Carina is very difficult. Filled with rocks that come in. It’s hard to walk out and enjoy the ocean. The food was very good. You’ll enjoy the outside bar and food offered. We had a wonderful Valentine day meal with lobster and steak. Employees were hit or miss if you received good service or not. Bethany was always consistent and fun to be around. Rooms did not get cleaned consistently for our week stay. We went to play putt putt golf and that is not being taken care of. Hot tub was never hot. Just above luke warm. We made it fun with our family. I would suggest better shuttle service for guests. If you don’t rent a car, taxi will be expensive for long term stay. If I came back again, I would hope the beach would be better maintained with better shuttle service.

I was very disappointed in this resort the staff is somewhat rude. You have a few nice ones there the food wasn’t that great and also I don’t think they spray the grounds because I had so many mosquito bites all over my body from this resort even though they said it’s because it’s rainy season I just came from Costa Rica and it was really season there and I didn’t get one bite. I don’t recommend going to this resort, even though it’s all inclusive not good not at all

First impression was bad. Entrance glass doors were absolutely filthy. Lots of dirt as you come in. What must have been a fountain greets you. Old pipes and stagnant water are an eye sore. Machines don't pay. Odds are bad. However, staff was friendly and the food was good. Restrooms were clean. Not noisy. AC was cool and comfortable. Lots of machines to play although some are outdated.
Elsa G — Google review
Disappointing Service & False Promises at an All-Inclusive resort The staff’s hospitality is surface level friendly until you actually need something. Then, they become dismissive, unhelpful, and often outright hostile, as if guests are an inconvenience rather than the reason the resort exists. Unprofessional & Unhygienic Service Louisa, the pool bartender, was a standout disappointment consistently rude, visibly miserable, and shockingly unprofessional. Watching her handle limes with her bare hands (long nails included) was appalling. Is a basic lime squeezer too much to ask for at an all-inclusive resort? Incompetence & Misinformation - The front desk insisted the bar closed at 11 PM, yet it shut down at 10:30 PM every night without exception. - Our package promised water sports, yet nothing was available upon arrival. No alternatives were offered, even though seaweed made the beach unusable. - We were told the pool opened at 6 AM, but staff failed to mention no entry was allowed until 10 AM due to maintenance. Half-Hearted Service & Lack of Effort At the coffee bar, we ordered an iced cappuccino only to receive a hot one. Instead of remaking it properly (with frothed milk), the barista poured the hot drink over ice and called it fixed. Should we really have to beg three times for a simple order to be correct? No Guidance or Local Knowledge Even when we explicitly asked for recommendations beaches, restaurants, anything and emphasized we had a rental car and were willing to drive, staff had absolutely nothing to offer. An "Adult" Resort That Shuts Down at 10:30 PM? For a resort marketed as an all-inclusive adult experience, closing the bar and all amenities by 10:30 PM is unacceptable. Where was the vibrant nightlife or even basic late-night options? Final Thoughts! This was not the premium, stress-free vacation we paid for. Between the unprofessional staff, misleading information, and complete lack of effort, we left feeling frustrated and cheated. To make matters worse, the Tuscany restaurant was closed for maintenance or operating on limited schedules, forcing us to spend far more money than we’d planned. Save your money this resort does not deliver on its promises.

This place was absolutely the worst, only good thing about this place was the friendly staff, the beds were comfortable. Food was cafeteria food at best, no entertainment, the mini golf area was abandoned area, where you would normally see water in a pond was sitting water with god knows what on it, with flying bugs. Even one of the staff members "I am embrassed to work here", ithe gym was ok, be aware of the scargasram the whole hotel smelled, couldn't use the beach at the hotel. We needed to he driven to a near by beach. I will be showing pictures as well. Common area furniture holes in it for days. Spend your money somewhere else. It is not allowing me to post pictures, outlet in room held on by blue painters tape, one outlet didnt fit so you see a hole in the wall. The rooms were so cold, you had no control over the temperature in your room. Please beaware

Rainbow beach was so beautiful. We did the jet skis and it was such a great time! I saw a sea turtle. I was told it’s mating season in August for them. The water is beautiful and super clear. Fish are as close to about 10 feet of the shore and the restaurant has some really good drinks… very good service everyone was nice and welcoming and I would definitely come back and do the water sports and chill on Rainbow Beach again
Quincee W — Google review
My family and I booked one Jetski. My husband was the adult driver, you get one passenger that comes with your purchase. Since we have 3 kids it was super convenient to have the add a passenger option. Minors can't ride by themselves of course, so I paid an extra 20 for my two other kids. The staff was very accommodating and kind. They took the time to fit them with the proper life jackets, & went over safety procedures to keep them and anyone else in the water safe. After that they were escorted to the jet skis already in the water, waiting for them. This company is great, and the location was superb. My family said they could see the ocean floor, they saw turtles and flying fish. They had such a great time. After the excursion we went to rhythms which was great because they worked up an appetite.

Great rental and souvenir shop. Jetskis. Chairs. Umbrellas. Snorkel necessities. Paddleboards.

Had a blast with West End Jet Skis! The staff was chill, professional, and made sure we felt safe and ready to ride. The jet skis were in great shape, and the views out on the water were unreal. Super fun experience and an awesome way to see the island from a different angle. Definitely recommend if you’re in St. Croix and want some adrenaline!
Josh — Google review
We had a blast today! The whole crew was very professional and the skis were newer and in great shape. I would highly recommend doing the longer tour. Both locations are beautiful and a must see from the water! We will definitely be back.
Gotpallets423 — Google review
Staff was super friendly and helpful our whole day at rainbow beach. My family rented their 5 jetskis for 1 hour and enjoyed the water together. The limits where tou can ride were enough to enjoy them wheil stayi g close enoigh to shore so they workers could help us if we needed it. Rented them in advance online before going. Also did some kayaking and paddle boarding which was just as fun as the skis.

Horseback riding service
Equus Rides offers a unique experience of horseback riding along sandy beaches, open pastures, and through a rainforest trail with knowledgeable guides. The highlight is the opportunity to splash through the ocean on these magnificent animals for an unforgettable adventure. In addition to the thrilling ride, visitors also get to learn about the island's history and ecology. Guests praise Cowboy Steve and his crew for their warm welcome, excellent instructions, and memorable experiences during the tour.
Lots of fun! My wife and I came here for our honeymoon and it was an absolute blast! Cowboy Steve and Jacqueline are excellent guides. This isn’t like other horse riding tours where the horses just trot along slowly, you get complete control of the horse with where and how fast you want to go!
Landon P — Google review
We celebrated our 43rd anniversary with Equus horseback riding on the beach. The most amazing and memorable adventure we’ve experienced. Highly recommended Equus Rides. We learned about the history of the island, the many trees in the property, as well as meeting the horses and donkeys. Looking for something to do? Go horseback riding with Equus Rides, you will love it!

In the top 5 of the Most magical experiences of my life (if you know me, than you know that’s saying a lot). It was so much more than just riding horses on a beautiful beach and into pristine Carribean waters, although that was very cool! But if you’re willing to let yourself go on this “journey” with Cowboy Steve and his amazing crew…You will be transformed, and hopefully better for having had this experience. Pure Magic.
Kashka O — Google review
This is our second time in St. Croix but our first time riding the beach! I found Equus Rides online a couple of days prior to out departure and everyone raved about Cowboy Steve and Equus in all of the reviews. The ride definitely lived up to my expectations! My husband was a little nervous and both of us had a blast! Cowboy Steve and Jacquie and the whole team were so wonderful and positive and excited and really made the ride so comfortable and fun!! I rode Dublin and he is awesome 🐎 😊 This really made the whole trip for me and when we return to St. Croix, this will be the first thing I book! I would plan my whole vacation around this ride! This was a beautiful, memorable, fun and heartwarming experience!

Omg Cowboy Steve and his wonderful crew did an amazing job with our horse tour. I am still so overwhelmed with the warm welcome & overall the experience. You can tell they love what they do thank you soo much can not wait to come back with my son in the summer
Lanyece P — Google review
Such a magical and connecting experience. This was by far one of our best experiences on the island and honestly anywhere. No matter what your riding experience is they will make this an adventure like no other. I've been on numerous horse riding adventures and looking back none of them compare to this. The moment I met Cowboy Steve and the rest of his team (Randy, Milan, and Jaqueline) I knew this was going to be fun and different. We rode the horses through several trails and then eventually we rode down to the beach and into the ocean. The next thing I knew my horse was swimming as were the all the others. The horses were enjoying the water so much. They didn't want to leave the water lol. We all got to swim off of the horses as well. Until you experience this, no review will ever really be ale to tell you the true feeling. As I right this review I get the best feeling throughout my body as I know this experience is unforgettable. Book your trip and enjoy this experience as it is like no other.

We had such an incredible experience with Cowboy Steve, Jacqueline, and Clayton. Highly recommend the late afternoon. Steve was a wealth of St. Croix knowledge and has a lifetime of adventures to share. He cares for his horses, this island, and all he meets. They all care for making your time with them an experience you’ll always remember.

GO HERE. I have gone on countless trail rides and never have I experienced a more interactive group!!!! This is not my first time going in the water on a horse but it is absolutely the BEST time. They all care so much about the group and taking pictures of us so we have memories for a lifetime. The horses are all very well trained and perfect for a broad range of riding experience. I’d do it again a million times

Isaacs Bay Beach is a hidden gem accessible via a moderate hike from Point Udall. The well-maintained trail takes about 15 minutes to trek and offers stunning views. Visitors are advised to bring essentials like water, snacks, camera, and snorkeling gear. This pristine beach is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, with small reefs located just offshore.
A beautiful beach to visit. A must see!! It is quite a hike to get down to, so be prepared with some good shoes to hike in and then beachwear when you arrive. Another must see/visit!
Paul J — Google review
Quiet, pristine beach with small reefs about 50’ offshore. Hike down was easier than expected. Not wheelchair accessible but very gradual decline with well-maintained trails. Only saw a few people in the five hours we were there between 10 and 3:30, which was a welcome break from the bustle of Christiansted. Did see plenty of fish though, including a beautiful barracuda, plus sea urchin, fan coral and brain coral. Above water, we found a little beach shack to escape the sun. Some hermit crab had the same idea. They scrabbled over and waited like patient seagulls when we unwrapped our Seaside Market sammies.
Jamie M — Google review
You'll have to hike down to get to it. If you're in sandals or water shoes I'd think twice. Very nice though and a chance to see turtles. It's located right below point Udall. There's a small parking area before the monument that gets you access.
Tyler D — Google review
My wife and I hiked down to Isaac's Beach on Thursday afternoon and we were the only people there. It was one of the most beautiful spots we have ever been. The water was perfect for swimming and the sand beach was beautiful. Plan for about a 15-20 minute hike each way and be sure to take plenty of water/Gatorade and good hiking shoes. It is well worth it. If you are feeling up to it, you can continue your hike and go over to Jack's Beach. Turtles do nest here, so be careful not to step directly in the middle of any of the holes that they have dug.
Jordan K — Google review
This beach/hiking trail was amazing. It has absolutely gorgeous views, the water looks like a picture out of a travel magazine, the hiking trail is fairly diverse (if you keep hiking past Isaac's Breach), and the temperature with the wind was perfect. Keep hiking to find your own slice of beach with not another soul to be found. My wife and I went snorkeling in the crystal clear water on a beach that was devoid of other people. 11/10 would recommend to anyone not afraid of a hike and some sunny beaches!
Corey — Google review
Rainbow, north shore, mermaid, buccaneer beach all pale in comparison to this beach. Grab your food, get a nice bottle of rum in a plastic container, lube up with your sunscreen and make this a whole day thing (obviously stopping off at The Goat on the way back). This beach is absolutely splendid for swimming, snorkeling, and just downright sun and fun. It is a turtle nesting ground so don’t be obnoxious with umbrellas and glass bottles and such. Can’t wait to come back to this place again.
Nick W — Google review
A nice, scenic hike (less than 2-mile round trip) to a beautiful sandy beach. There are reefs for snorkeling too, I only when out ~50yds. It is also a turtle nesting area. During our visit there a small makeshift structure built from sea trash. Other than that this was a very clean beach. Keep hiking west and visit Jack's Beach as well.
Mike — Google review
There is a trail that takes you down to the beach it is a half mile hike to get there but it is so worth it go on a weekday and there is hardly no one there.

This was paradise. Lounging beneath the palms with a little shade mixed with a little sun. Perfect views. Also had access to the excellent coral reef just off to the left. Made for some wonderful snorkeling.

Good water for swimming in. The beach is small and managed by the resort. There is a no cooler rule for anyone planning to go, but I was still able to bring drinks in. The beach is on a slight incline so there is not a lot of flat sandy areas.

Really nice beach, crystal clear water, not too crowded and an adjacent bar and restaurant with good food. Easy access to by the Buccaneer resort. Very clean and well kept.

this beach was AMAZING!!! we came here from Divi Carina and we have nothing but positive things to say. the beach was clean, it was quiet, it wasn’t busy at all, and the service was immaculate!!! mayra took care of us, and was so sweet. she made sure everything was to our liking and knew the menu extremely well. there was also a gentleman that came around checking us and our chairs in and he was very nice as well. the food was 110% worth the money - we had the fish and chips and it was soooo fresh!!! the drinks were delicious. 100% come here, the views were breathtaking and the water is beautiful.

Wildlife refuge
Jack and Isaac Bay Preserve, located on St. Croix, is a stunning natural escape for snorkelers and nature enthusiasts. This 300-acre preserve is home to nesting sea turtles and a diverse marine life, including various coral species and over 400 types of fish. Managed by The Nature Conservancy, the preserve also serves as a nesting site for green and hawksbill turtles from July to December.
A great place for an intermediate level hike. The path is very rudimentary and rough especially as you start out and then widens a bit. Hiking poles will be helpful. Amazing views from the high points. Very interesting foliage - tropical and desert mixed together! Probably the most pristine beaches in St Croix with smooth, soft sand and beautiful blue water! A relaxing dip in the cool water is the perfect mid-hike break before heading back to reality!
Stanley M — Google review
A great hike with a very high beautiful view to effort ratio! Amazing foliage, cacti and more arid plant life. Lots of sea birds. And miles of gorgeous clear water and white sand beaches. A few other hikers on the trail but certainly not crowded.
Max E — Google review
Nature at its best. Roads to the beach are well paved, and not like the west side of the island. We were told to not bring anything valuable and roll down the windows of the car in the parking lot so that the windows don’t get smashed out. And we saw the evidence of that in the parking lot. There’s not very many parking spots. Maybe 10 and that’s all the people that seem to be at the beach, which was perfect for us! That being said, the beach and area is gorgeous! Very remote and very few people at the beach, be sure to bring good hiking shoes to make the trek down the path approximately 1 mile to the beach and then there’s miles and miles of beach and mountain side area to hike and explore. Two cool little driftwood huts were constructed to help get out of the sun. The best experience on the whole island.
Ranae A — Google review
Great views and beaches. Isaac’s Bay beach is partially protected by the reef and a few people were out snorkelling. Not crowded on the day we visited, maybe a dozen other people along the trail in mid-Feb. A small parking lot holds about a dozen vehicles though you can probably park along the shoulder too. There have been some break ins reported so we just left our windows open with nothing of value in the car.
Mike P — Google review
Looking for an exciting- exhausting, stress releasing type of hike?? We’ll look no further! It was an amazing hike that seemed to give a long hike illusion but to us it wasn’t that long more or a reasonable hike it was shorter than what it actually looked. The water was so amazing. The hike ends at a yellow house. We didn’t get too close because it seems to be private. Wear sunscreen 🧴, bring water, a bit of snacks to go along the way, and don’t forget the hat 🧢 because you are under the sun. Also wear comfortable shoes and if possible try bringing two on for the hike and one for the water. The water does have a bit of rocks 🪨 and seaweed.
Jatnna R — Google review
Nice hiking trails, with beautiful beaches and views! I wish we could have snorkled here, but it was too windy/huge waves, tho we still saw a few people out there. Hopefully next time, if we make it back to ST Croix.
Tiffany R — Google review
25May2025: This is a beautiful hike. At the parking lot at the top before you get to Udall point, you can park if there is a spot. Parking lot will hold about eight vehicles. Remember, leave no valuables in sight or even in the car. I recommend you leave the car unlocked with the windows in the back rolled down, as to keep from having a window broken. Some windows had been broken in at the parking lot previously. The hike is not too strenuous. but lose shake in places. You do need to have decent shoes. Unfortunately the sargassa seaweed at Jack's Bay and beach covered everything, and it was unusable. Isaac's Bay is a little better but still not good.
George B — Google review
My #1 hike on STX. Amazing views and sounds from the ocean!! Best part of this hike is the flexibility. You can hike a moderate/gentle trail for 20 minutes and get the feel, or you can continue on and explore the beaches etc… Favorite thing to do it picnic on one of the peninsula’s that offers the best waterfront view.
