Incredible time as had been our previous visit. Service was excellent, the entire staff clearly works as a team to deliver an impecable experience every step of the way. The food was all outstanding and our server gave excellent suggestions. Everyone acknowledged that we were repeat guests and they also brought out a small appetizer on the house as our reservation from the previous evening had to be rescheduled as they didn’t have water due to no fault of their own. We dined here last year when we came to Puerto Rico and this was probably the thing we were looking forward to the most on our return visit this year. The fluke crudo was definitely one of the best things that I’ve ever eaten in my life and both me and my girlfriend are big foodies. Amazing restaurant in every aspect possible, definitely recommend and will be back. Thank you!

Our 27th wedding anniversary in Puerto Rico was unforgettable — my husband completely surprised me with dinner at Marmalade! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like the only guests in the restaurant. The table was beautifully set with flower petals, and every dish that came out was a masterpiece. My husband did the wine pairing, and each time a new glass arrived, our amazing server, Anna, explained its origin and why it paired perfectly with the course. She was warm, attentive, and so knowledgeable — truly the best of the best. Even though she had other tables, she made us feel like we were her only focus. It was one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had — the perfect way to celebrate 27 years together. Thank you to the entire staff at Marmalade, truly top class!

This is an amazing fine dining experience. Took my wife for her bday. This is truly an amazing place with amazing food, servers and Chef de Rang. The white bean soup it’s so tasty and delicious, they actually have already printed copies of the recipe available to the guests. We felt welcome and each plate and wines were explained to us. I had mistakenly consumed the garnished Fresno pepper and the Chef de Rang move quickly to get a fresh antidote 😂 of cold sweet wine to calm the spiciness and it worked perfectly. A 5 course meal for a party of two could range anywhere from $450 and up.

We’ve had beautiful meals all over the world with celebrated and Michelin chefs. This was the best meal we’ve ever had. EVER A few hours before our arrival I had a friendly call to check on preferences, allergies and restrictions. But this phone call felt different - it was casual but professional, welcoming, funny, and warm. We like to make early reservations so we can watch the energy change as guests fill the space. I recommend it just to visit with the knowledgeable and interesting front of house. Upon entry you’re surrounded with subtle elegance and, as you observe, more and more the elegance grows. While walking to our table I was handed a pashmina - but didn’t need it because the temperature of the dining room was perfect. A simple but much appreciated touch. The purse tables were also stunning and artfully crafted. I mentioned that we were celebrating a wedding anniversary. Each member of the team sincerely wished us happy anniversary as we walked in and all evening. The service is top-notch. Attentive without being overbearing. Each team member knew the menu and how to recommend dishes. The pre-fixe menu is a masterclass in culinary creativity. Every dish is beautifully presented with a sleight of hand table reset at each passing. Again, attention to every tiny detail is priority. Takes a long time to get to this… the cocktails are inventive, complex yet whimsical. And finally getting to the food… wow. Just wow. The flavors exploded on the palate. It’s evident that each course is crafted with care, using the freshest ingredients with unique flavors that work so well together you wonder why you haven’t seen it before. Every bite felt both familiar and exotic at the same time. This food brought my tastebuds into focus - couture for the mouth. We were both rendered speechless multiple times. From start to finish, the entire meal is a journey. Couldn’t possibly pick a favorite course. We were in a lovely corner booth with a giant pile of pillows. Near the final course I understood the need for the pillows as we were left in a state of bliss. I threw myself into them and took some deep breaths. Marmalade isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just treating yourself to an exceptional night out, this is a place where the food and service will exceed your expectations. The four of us, who are definite “foodies” dined here and we were blown away by the fabulous food and service! We are all in our 60’s and have eaten all over the world and travel to food destinations- each of us stated that it was the finest dining experience that we’d ever had! Not only was the food different, modern and amazing- the service was impeccable and was worth every penny! In the end our bill with wine was $200+/person.

Very amazing meal, we just kind of wondered in and asked if they had availability for two. They were able to see us at a high table at the service with some of the best I’ve experienced that have many restaurants, our server really did a great job of explaining the menu and making recommendations they checked and us. The right amount of time is to make us feel wanted and cared for, but not enough to make us feel like they were being pushy. When things would happen like I would run out of water, they would refill the water at a reasonable pace and when I made a request to the server, he was very quick to get it done. I like the fact that it’s a fixed price menu, and it was kind of fun to be able to choose my own meal and it wasn’t just a set menu, also I like the fact that even though it’s fine dining beers are only eight dollars.

Finally was able to make a reservation this past Saturday. We were sat immediately and Julian was our server. We started with drinks. My brother had the Paper Plane which he enjoyed and I had the Tamarind Margarita. We ordered half the menu and the standouts were the shrimp bao buns, jamon croquetas, goat cheese truffle honey quesadilla for appetizers. The entrees also met our expectations. My shrimp trifongo was creamy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. My hubby's NY strip steak was cooked to temperature and my brother said his fried chillo was the best he's ever had. The vibe when we entered (about 7pm)was weird since they were playing like elevator music but towards the end closer to 9pm they started playing house music. Was hoping they would dim the lights a little as the night progressed but it remained very bright in the dining room. Aside from that minor grievance, we had a very positive experience. So reservations were made for 5 ppl at 10:30PM but seems like they don’t have a time limit on how long people can spend on a table simple because and we spent over 25-30 mins waiting on a table…. At the beginning the experience was not it honestly, especially when you are hungry and the last reservation of the night. So it started off rocky and then when seated certain food items were not available, I really wanted to be optimistic and really give them a chance sooo here it goes… what made it special was a couple of things its right next to La placita, very busy yet fun to go fine dining and party afterwards. However, for me was ambience it was busy but the jazz music really gives the vibes a flow. Even though certain food were not available the waiters provide us with other options to select of seafood, appetizers, red meat. The Chorizo empanadilla delicious, filled with chorizo and maduro. The GOAT quesadilla was what won my heart, so delicious and flavorful with goat cheese over arugula, drizzled writhing a sweet syrup yummy. Popcorn chicken with a sweet curry was good too. But after being told the pastel on was no longer available the chef decided to make us one from scratch and let me tell you IT DID NOT Disappoint! It was delicious, the maduros were smashed in perfect texture, ugh reminds my oh my grandmas pastel on. Let just say it made the beginning of the experience forgetting. The Service very friendly and on top. Even though we did catch a dish that was a bit dirty but that didn’t stop us from getting drinks, which were great and strong.

A bit disappointed. I feel this place is overrated. Nice location, good ambiance, but the food was just OK. Probably good for drinks and meeting people, but from a food quality perspective, I've been in other places in this town that in my opinion are much better for the price you pay. Service was cordial but a bit slow. We got couple of appetizers and one main dish to share but it took almost 2hrs to go through it. Only highlight of the night was the Goat Cheese Quesadilla, flavorful and the White Truffle oil gave it a good dimension. The popcorn chicken was ok, but won't be memorable. And we felt the Lacón Asado (Braised Pork) was too dry, and the caramelized part was not enough to balance it. It felt like a holiday dish that needed a cherry compote, or a cranberry sauce to complement it. For dessert they didn't have the Baked Alaska but we got an alternative Caramel Cake with flambeed meringue, but unfortunately it was extremely sweet. Desserts need a balance too.

We were on a cruise that stopped in Puerto Rico for one of its ports. We walked to El Morro to see it, but sadly there were no tours since the government shutdown had just started. We took an uber to head back to the ship and my husband found this place to eat that had great reviews. We had to stop by to see if it lived up to the hype. We arrived before 5 which was good since we did not have reservations. There was only 1 other table of people when we got there. We tried a few of the appetizers that the server recommended and they were all delicious. Even the popcorn chicken was the best popcorn chicken I’ve ever eaten. I got the Camarones and it was amazing. The trifongo was sweeter than I expected. It was fun to try authentic Puerto Rican food and this place was a good spot. Honestly the only thing we didn’t like was the baked Alaska dessert because the alcohol flavor didn’t burn off of it so it tasted bleh on the outside. The server did warn us it had an alcohol taste so we would not order that again. Everything else was amazing and the service was great too. I’m sure we were under dressed in our swimsuits, but the restaurant was great. If we ever come back to Puerto Rico - we will come again!

Exceptional experience!! So great we were blessed to eat here 2 nights in a row!! Our flight was very late getting in and most restaurants closing, but Reinaldo found us 2 seats at the bar. We had grilled octopus appetizer and the seabass entree. The flavors were devine!! Jonathan at the bar has a real talent mixing the exotic cocktails that are offered. He was also very kind and helpful to suggest different dinner and drink options. The service here is exceptional. The second night we loved the ahi pops and tried an ages Puerto Rican rum tasting. Such a beautiful place with magical food and drinks and kind people. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to try out my new cookbook.

Came here mid week while here for work. The staff was able to squeeze me in. Great service from the team. Cocktails and drinks came extremely quick. The lighting, mural, and live plants were representative of Puerto Rico. Options were plentiful. I ordered the cod and sweet potato. Great balance of flavors. Definitely a spot to visit while you’re in town.

We got reservations for Santaella because we heard it was supposed to be amazing. Upon arrival we realized they gave us reservations for Azeteo even though the reservation clearly showed Santaella, which is still the same owners but their menu is significantly different with way less options. We ordered a good amount of food and it tasted good. The portions were small and the prices were on average for higher end food. Overall the meal was fine we were just looking forward to the Santaella menu!

Made a reservation to see what this restaurant was about. Parking is a 3-4 minute walk if you can't find a spot on the street. The bar looked well stocked, and able to prepare any cocktail you would want. The food was high quality, but also lacking in quantity. I ordered the crispy pork belly with fried rice in a coconut curry. The pork belly was as good as any you would find in a Cantonese restaurant. However, I was expecting a little more for. $30 dish. In the picture, you can't see the rice as it was hidden under the shallow pond of curry. The curry had good taste with the right amount of spice and peanuts Still needing more, I ordered the fried chicken. This plate was more substantial, and finally filled my stomach. Overall, if you're looking to taste finer cuisine in San Juan, this place is it. Just be prepared to spend more to be satisfied.

Went to Vianda to celebrate a special night of friendship, and it did not disappoint. It made the night even more memorable. Our drinks, En Las Nubes, Corazón de Melón, Pika Piña, and Pomarola Fizz, were crafted to perfection. They were delicious, balanced, and delightfully exotic. We tried a variety of dishes. The Ceviche was fresh and creative. The Secreto Ibérico and Pastelón de Pernil were inventive takes on Puerto Rican flavors. The Crepas de Morcilla had flavors that made me dance with every bite. The Agnolotti de Maíz were puffy pasta pillows filled with deliciousness. To finish, we had the Tres Leches with pistachio, which was subtle but tasty. Our servers were attentive throughout the night. The vibe was enjoyable, although it was a bit loud, which made conversation with companions slightly challenging. I would definitely return and recommend this place

Not to miss!! This was the best meal we had during our entire stay in San Juan. The atmosphere is simple - don’t be fooled by that because the food is top notch. Made me recall some of the places I dined at San Sebastián Spain. Go hungry and thirsty… worth every bite and every penny! We opted for high top seating by the window. The bar seating also looked great and people seated there were enjoying it. Thomas did an amazing job helping us navigate the menu and the portions so we could try variety of things. We kept raving about the Crudo for days - it was that good! Then the unassuming cabbage arrived and sent us to heaven in a speed train! The goodies kept on delighting the palate. Desert cocktail, the clarified espresso martini was amazing and complemented the pistachio tres-leches so well. Chef also stopped by to check on how our meal was going. So if you want to have one great special meal while in San Juan - this one is it, enjoy!

The drinks are very creative, depths and delicious. Foods are small plates but no lack of flavors. Farm yo table feels. Definitely come back

The food was amazing! I am all about food and this place did not disappoint. The menu changes every month, I guess so it might not be the same. We had dinner pork belly, catch of the day and the pistachio tres leches cake wa highlight of the night!

I loved the clarified tomato cocktail and the grilled prawns the most. The prawns had a nice smoky flavor and were perfectly savory, and the Pika Pina was great too. (The mezcal base was spot on)

Vianda Restaurant — Stop 20, Santurce Vianda offers outstanding service and a welcoming ambiance, striking an exceptional balance between culinary sophistication and a relaxed atmosphere ideal for conversation and enjoyment. The dishes feature refined flavors with beautifully presented, small portions perfect for sharing. Highly recommended are the Catch of the Day and the Pork Belly with Thai Rice — both highlight the kitchen’s creative flair and precise execution. Expect to spend around $80–$110 per person, including drinks and dessert.

We visited Casita Miramar while in San Juan to celebrate our 1-year anniversary. While the restaurant came highly recommended, our experience unfortunately did not live up to expectations. To start, we were given complimentary starter soup and bacalao fritters both were actually quite good and gave us hope for the rest of the meal. However, we ended up waiting well over an hour, about 1 hour and 30 minutes, for our main courses. During that time, our server, Jeffrey, noticed our visible frustration and said he would “go investigate” what was taking so long. Despite that, the delay continued, and by the time the food finally arrived, we had completely lost our appetite. We didn’t even touch our meals. It was clear we were upset, but no apology was ever offered. Jeffrey asked if we wanted the food packed to go (we declined), and that was it no effort to acknowledge the inconvenience, and nothing was taken off the bill. To make matters worse, a large party of 13 or more people was seated next to us while we waited, and it genuinely felt like the staff’s focus was almost entirely on them. We understand large groups can take attention, but being completely overlooked, especially while celebrating something meaningful, felt dismissive and frustrating. It’s unfortunate, because the place has charm and the starters were promising, but the lack of communication, care, and hospitality during our visit really soured the evening.

The restaurant was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was beautiful. The lighting was perfect for an evening meal. The food was incredible. So delicious. We each ordered different items and we loved every dish. The portion sizes were large. The staff was so very nice. They even gave us a birthday dessert of tres leche cake. The service and food for an absolutely perfect night. It’s very affordable. It’s a must go too!!!

I still dream about this place! From the moment we arrived it was everything. The interior decor was so beautifully themed i couldn't stop taking pictures. The staff were nice & attentive. We received complimentary bacalaitos & plantain soup. My best friend and I were afraid to ask for more it was s00000 good! Omg! The Drunken Chicken was tender, juicy, and hearty. The Cabrito was to die for. Who knew goat stew was so flavorful and delicious. Tres leche was good & extremely moody. Our drinks packed a good punch. We really enjoyed ourselves here for dinner in San juan.

This was such a pleasant gastronomic journey starting with the Plantain Pumpkin Veloute Soup which was out of this world. Hints of plantain with a subtle hint of pumpkin that was so smooth that left me wanting more. Followed with Mofungo con Caldo which was superb paired with a wonderful flavorful caldo. My main course was the Sea Side Salad served with fresh shrimp, octopus, avocado and garnished with local greens and a very light olive oil dressing that did not overpower the delicious seafood it married. Finishing with the Spicy Nancy cocktail created with tequila, lime, ancho reyes and a pineapple jalapeno syrup that was a perfect final stop on this incredible experience. This is a definite MUST STOP location everyone needs to experience. All this and a fantastic staff starting from my being welcomed in all throughout my dinner adventure by the friendly and professional waitstaff. Definitely plan to come again before heading back to Houston, Texas.

1000000/10. This dinner was immaculate. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is very classy-chic. The menu items were authentic Puerto Rican cuisines, the sangrias were tasty, and a special shoutout to our hostess Alyah. She was so sweet and gave the best recommendations!!

There are some places that try to tell you what you should feel when you experience their food and restaurant. Casita Miramar is that Gold standard!! From authentic of the environment, to the outstanding customer service (shoutout Gabriel de Jesus), this restaurant hits the mark at every turn! Reservations aren’t always easy to get so plan ahead. Whatever you do, do not leave the island of Puerto Rico without experiencing this establishment!

First let’s start with who attended to us, Gabriel. He was absolutely awesome, friendly and very attentive to us. He made sure we felt like home. The food was amazing with awesome flavors. My daughter had mofongo with shrimp and I had mofongo with skirt steak absolutely awesome. We also had Alcapurrias de corned beef and mamposteao which were all great. The drink was one of the best we have ever had, “El Conflicto” the mixture of piña colada with ginger tea and cinnamon was absolutely delicious. The dessert of “coquito tres leche” was the best dessert we have ever had absolutely delicious and you can taste the coconut. There isn’t enough stars to give Casita Miramar. Thank you for everything.

My husband and I went to La Casita Blanca on a Saturday afternoon thinking it might be busy or take a while, but we were pleasantly surprised. As soon as we arrived was seated right away, greeted with warm smiles from the staff. Our waitress, was so friendly and full of positive energy. She gave us great recommendations — exactly what we were hoping for: authentic Puerto Rican dishes. We were welcomed with sopa de plátano and bacalaito, which were both delicious. Our meals came out quickly, and everything was absolutely amazing. The busboys and other servers were also very attentive, keeping the table tidy with cheerful attitudes. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that truly showed the warmth of Puerto Rican hospitality. 10/10 — highly recommend to anyone visiting Puerto Rico!

La Casita Blanca is an excellent local restaurant, away from the typical tourist spots. The decor and ambiance are truly amazing. Fortunately, our wait time was only about 10 minutes, which is quite rare; usually, you're looking at a wait of 1 to 2 hours. However, finding parking took us around 20 minutes, so opting for valet service would likely have been a smarter choice. We ordered carne guisada and bistec encebollado, both beautifully presented. While the flavors were delightful, a touch more salt would have enhanced the dishes further. The service was decent, though we did have to wait a bit to get our server's attention on a few occasions. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!

We knew the food will be fabulous so it was no shock! We came on Thursday around 2 pm and they close at 4pm on Thursday, thus, no wait for us. We’re seated immediately. Food was 5 stars. I got a Piña colada which was the best I have had! Sprinkle of cinnamon on it was the golden touch. We got the stuffed avocado and skirt steak and fried cheese. All very good. 5 stars all around.

i now know why this is bad bunny’s favorite restaurant. it was absolutely incredible. best meal i’ve had on my trip! we came on a thursday around 2:30, they close at 4 and the wait was about 10 min long to be seated. they give complementary balacao fritters and plantain soup which was amazing to start. we got the beef stew and the skirt steak, both came with rice and it came with a plate of bean soup. also got their espresso martini which was so good. i highly recommend this restaurant and if i return to san juan i will be back!

Food was just like my Grandmas used to make! Portions are large! We made the mistake of over ordering... Saucer sized perfectly crisp and thick tostones (come 3 to a side), entrées include the Puerto Rican staples- white rice & kidney bean stew (arroz blanco y habichuelas guisadas). Separate little pot of beans is plenty for 2. Pernil was delicious, (roasted pork shoulder, not always on the menu, so if it is, get it!) Fried pork chops were yummy, as was their bistec encebollado (cubed steak smothered in onions). Their Puerto Rican style corned beef was also very tasty, always a favorite of my husband, especially. We enjoyed everything thoroughly, ate waaay too much...

I came here because of an influencer on IG. The place always had a line wrapped around, with a wait of about 30 mins long. The decor is very homey with plantains and plants hanging all around as the main decor of the place. They have seating on two levels. We sat on the top level. Their menu is limited and to the point. I ordered their coconut arepas stuffed with crabs as an appetizer, fried pork chops and my friend ordered their garlic shrimp both came with yellow rice. I did not like the taste of the crab, it was stewed and frankly didn't taste like crab meat at all to me. The arepa itself was tasty. I enjoyed my pork chops though they were on the small side. My friend did not enjoy his garlic shrimp, it was lacking flavor. Overall, the experience was much to be desired and the food was overpriced. I forgot to mention they gave us a soup before our meals, I believe it was green plantain, that was very tasty.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was eating at home. The hospitality here is truly unmatched. They welcome you with a comforting plantain soup, followed by perfectly crispy bacalaitos that set the tone for an amazing meal. The main dish exceeded every recommendation I had heard — absolutely delicious. To finish, the coffee was incredible, and they even brought out a chichaito macerated with coffee, the perfect digestif to end the experience. A place full of flavor, warmth, and genuine care. Totally worth the visit.

This place offers a great variety of food, and the service is excellent. Be sure to try the chocolate grilled cheese and the chocolate burger; they are both creative and fun dishes. The mocha coffee is superb, and brunch here is the best. The ambiance is pleasant, and the overall service was satisfactory.

This was such a unique experience. Who would have thought of a restaurant where everything is served with chocolate…even the burgers…of course the chocolate can be put on the side…. like the spicy chocolate that was served with the plantains. The restaurant was clean, and the food was delicious. However, the service needs help. Our server was Jonathan, and he was less than good. I cannot even say average as we waited a very long time for most of our drinks and food and the restaurant was not even full or busy…so this was a bit concerning. If you love chocolate, you have to try this place! Everything is so unique and the food is great. It was easy to find. There was a huge party when we arrived, but was able to get a table pretty quick. The restaurant was clean, bathrooms were clean, and the service was phenomenal. We told our server that we were vegetarians. He convinced us to try the garden sandwich because it was delicious and different. That fried eggplant should be sold as a appetizer for vegetarians with a great dipping sauce. Our tostones with that guacamole was yummy. It just has shaved chocolate pieces but still was very tasty. I wished we had room for dessert because the things they were bringing out for other tables looked amazing. I am glad we stopped by here to try it. The chocolate grill cheese tasted like something I have eaten before but cant put my finger on it. It is sweet but so good. The chef is on point with the food. Thank you for a great evening of delicious food.

We were intrigued by the idea of having chocolate in all menu items. It somewhat delivered. Our party had Latin smash burger, French toast, and grilled cheese with bacon. The chocolate sauce for the French toast was yum! The service was horrendous. Perhaps the server was new. He bungled the order so the grilled cheese arrived way after the other food. He also charged for the iced Americano even though we canceled it because they could not make it decaf. It was a fun restaurant with good food. I hope they work on training the servers better.

What a gem! The atmosphere, food choices is amazing. Ramon is so friendly and kind, gave us very nice touch of service by offering spicy sauce and water. It is so touching experience. The food is so beautiful as you can see in the photos. The mocha we got is out of the world ! Delicious! The quality of the food is brilliant. Clean bathroom, cool air-conditioning too

Very interesting cuisine. A touch of chocolate in most of the dishes. Unique taste for chocolate lovers. Loved the art exhibit upstairs for a children's foundation.

Fellow travelers, when in Viejo San Juan, please visit Chocobar Cortés, the definitive Puerto Rican chocolate experience. This location is beautifully decorated with images from what seems to be past advertisement campaigns. They even have a wall covered with old metal chocolate moulds. Walk to the back of the seating area to find a display honoring the short stories that used to come packaged with the bars themselves, and a heartfelt letter from a longtime fan and consumer. During our visit, we ordered the following: - Don Ignacio (made with Barrilito 3-Star Rum) - Chocolate Old Fashioned (made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon) - Churros - Quesito Cortés Our favorite drink was the Don Ignacio, which to no surprise, acts as the flagship drink of the establishment. Both glasses were dipped in chocolate that hardened which just added to the beautiful presentation of the cocktail. The excelent service, inviting setting, and quality cocktails and products will certainly make you say: ¡Rico Chocolate Cortés!

Cocina Abierta was absolutely stellar. The dishes were some of the best I have had. The staff were attentive, informed, and happy to guide us through the menu. As a vegetarian with a few allergies, I felt well accommodated, and everything I tried was unique and delicious. I’ve included pictures but they don’t do justice on eating each ingredient with care and the delight.

We had a fantastic time at Cocina Abierta, we did the 5-course menu & it was a fabulous representation of elevated traditional cuisine. The wine selection is also great and well priced, and we are very appreciative of Oné who took amazing care of us. We will be back!

A uniquely wonderful dining experience from start to finish. Each dish was a feast for the senses and everyone we interacted with was gracious and kind. The highlights for me were the duck mofongo and the “wildcard” cocktail made by the incredibly talented in-house mixologist, Rafael. This was such a special evening and I hope to return someday!

Food was good but expecting more for the prices. Waiter could be nicer and more friendly for this type of restaurant. Appetizer was very good. This is a hit or mix. Again tooo expensive, $400 per couple. Portions very small.

We were looking for an upscale experience in San Juan for the weekend and Cocina Abierta delivered without breaking the bank. We did the $85 tasting menu and every dish was exceptional, with the dessert probably being the highlight of the meal. Cocktails were also delicious and complemented our meal well.

To be honest, probably I was expecting to much. It was good, interesting and diferent food. The service very efficient and they explained very well all the plates. We like particularly the mocktails.

Top of my list! Truly a gem. Everything we tried was spectacular, from cocktails to appetizers to main dish to dessert. Our waiter, Pedro, was telling us you can't go wrong with any dish in this place and I believe him. Nice decor, classical, but magical. The infusion Cocktails were unique. Tiradito de Atun with Passion Fruit was gone in seconds. Lamb-filled Cappelletti, nice Moroccan flavors. For mains, we were recommended their Verde Mesa house Rice (Vegetarian), a MUST try. And we also shared the Pork Cheeks, and they were a perfect blend of flavors with the rice. Both enough portions to share for two people. Almond Flour Dark Chocolate Mousse Cake to finish a perfect dinner, so rich, but very well balanced in sweetness. I believe this place has been in operation for 16-years, I wish them many more to come. They seem to have achieved culinary perfection. P.S. Fantastic food, drink, and dessert. Outstanding service by Stephen with excellent recommendations. Ate here on a Friday night in a charming outdoor seating area. We had the opportunity to listen to a jazz musician play across the street for our entire dinner. Atmosphere nothing short of magical.

Verda Mesa is a gem in San Juan! This farm-to-table restaurant not only delivers fresh, flavorful dishes but also a truly memorable dining experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with just the right mix of rustic elegance and cozy charm. We ordered the arroz verde with snook (robalo) on top, and it was simply outstanding—the flavors were vibrant, perfectly balanced, and beautifully presented. Every bite felt like it was crafted with care and made from thoughtfully sourced ingredients. The service was excellent as well—attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which added even more to the experience. From amazing decor, to tasty drinks, and food, what else do you need? Christina was our server tonight. She was wonderful and patient. I was worried that the Lavanda-rita would be soapy and too strong. She assured me it's strong, but not at all soapy. I'm happy I grabbed it, because it's truly a remarkable drink. It's perfect. Next up, appetizers that I will think about forever. Fresh tasting tuna with a fun spiced twist. Toasted scallops with pineapple galangal. I recommend eating with a spoon, so you scoop up all the goodness in one bite. Main dishes were star plates. I had the Tuna with daikon caramel, bok choy, and pumpkin. I actually teared up, the fish was well seasoned with a kiss of ginger that brought everything together beautifully. My boyfriend had the snook on top of cabbage, fareeka, ghee,ginger. It reminded me of my grandma's cooking in the best way. Like food for my southern soul, it was such a comforting palate. And then to top everything off, the passion fruit panna cotta. Heaven. I'm an emotional person, and this place and service made me cry. I don't know if I cried because this experience was near perfect or if I'm sad I can't have it again soon. Thank you, Verde Mesa team. A must go if you’re staying in Old San Juan! Super moody interior met by great service, awesome drinks & delicious food. Catherine was so accommodating, including going to the kitchen to see if they cut up an avocado I purchased in Vieques that needed to be eaten before heading back to the mainland states. They delivered with enthusiasm! Awesome place. Please go & experience it for yourself!

OMG! We ate from the Vegan menu. Curried Chickpea Stew and Verde Masa Rice. Incredible flavors. The restaurant is very quaint/eclectic and the music playing was so complementary to the vibe. Highly recommend. We came for lunch. OK, so I posted too early! Had the vegan coconut desert with hazelnut. Crazy delicious 😋 This time I took a before and after picture! Service was exceptional 👌

The most amazing lunch ever! We ordered the tomato ceviche and vegetarian rice dish. Both were superb!! The mocktails were fresh and delicious and the date cake and purple cloud desserts a must!!

Decent coffee. I believe it’s single origin medium roasted in house . Service is okay. Nothing to rave about . The space and atmosphere was cool. Cool little spot in old San Juan . I tried the Irish coffee, the whipped cream was delicious. The iced coffee we had wasn’t anything special. No notes that stood out. Prices are decent. Nothing to rave about.

Went to enjoy a good coffee in the middle of my walk, because the sun doesn't stop a good hot coffee 😆. Limited menu, my friend order a majorca with ham and cheese, it was good!

Nice little coffee roasterie with food options. Lattes were good. They forgot to make mine. Food was actually good. Construction going on outside, so inside was cramped.

Kind of hidden away inside the courtyard of this building. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Coffee was fantastic and this cat kept me company while I enjoyed an iced mocha!

Café Don Ruiz is really good. My friend and I ordered a Marcha and a Fozen Latte accompanied by a croissant and the largest veggie panini ever. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend, specially after visiting el Morro.

Nice coffee spot right outside the walkway to Castillo San Felipe del Morro. Great local, medium bodied, coffee, with multiple options for hot and cold drinks. The pastries are delich and brunch is served all day. **EASY TO FIND** the location is inside the building...there should be four entrances, but when we can (Apr 2025) only two entrances on the east and west points of the building.

We sat outdoors, and the space had a charming, homey feel with lots of natural elements in the decor. While the weather was a bit muggy, the fan helped make it more bearable. It’s a cozy setting overall, ideal for a casual night out 🍽️ Food & Drinks Their menu is presented by ingredients rather than traditional dish names, which adds a unique touch though it does make ordering a bit of a guessing game. I had a dish featuring fish and shrimp in a tomato-based stew. It had depth of flavor, but leaned noticeably salty, and the prawns were unfortunately overcooked and tough in texture. The chiro chicken was a highlight — crispy and well-seasoned, though a touch dry in the center. Portions were generous, and you can tell there’s intentionality behind the food, even if the execution isn’t perfect across the board. 👨‍🍳 Service & Hospitality Service was fine but felt rushed. Our server quickly cleared items and moved things around mid-meal, which made it feel like we were being hurried through the experience. That undercut the otherwise warm vibe we were hoping for. 💡 Unique Selling Point The concept is clearly curated with care — ingredient-driven, locally recommended, and aiming to be a new go-to. A gem of a restaurant in the heart of Santurce. Excellent cocktails, delicious food and friendly and attentive staff all wrapped in a stylish casual setting. Great mixologists making tasty cocktails. Nice wine list. Natalia and her staff will take good care of you. Everyone makes you feel at home from the moment you arrive until you leave. Octopus, lamb ribs, rabbit meat balls, quail…. Everything cooked to perfection and beautifully served. Dessert and coffee are not to be missed. Nice garden area with plenty of space for bigger groups. Overall a great place for dinner. A new favorite for us. Highly recommended.

This was an amazing experience from start to finish. The setting is beautiful- gorgeous home and garden. Unusual and creative cocktails. But the food and service really make this restaurant a standout. We had the vegetarian taro fritters and they were so creamy and delicious and you could somehow taste every component (often fritters end up an indistinguishable mass). The beet and goat cheese terrine was so good we were scouring the internet for recipes. It was a little challenging for my vegetarian dining companion but I had the goat and it was so good. This restaurant updates many traditional Puerto Rican foods and absolutely does it right. Service was knowledgeable and friendly. I’d love to go back.

Recently visited Cocina al Fondo for the first time and we had a great time. The staff was extremely friendly and professional, their food recommendations were on point & they tailored some cocktails for us with amazing artisanal rum. The space is beautiful and majority outdoors, so it can get quite hot at times. Highly recommend!

This place lived up to the hype for sure! It was my first meal in PR. From the moment I walked up, the service was top notch. Three different cocktails from three different and very friendly and attentive bartenders. All fire! The taro fritters and rabbit rice were unique and super flavorful. I would definitely return if I find myself back in PR.

My friends and I ordered a wide variety of dishes, and the food was generally pretty good. It was necessarily as good as I would have hoped given the prices, but I do not regret going! The fish did not come with too much meat, but the seafood dishes had good flavor. The house rice and steamed rice were actually cooked perfectly, but it’s also just the rice. I was mostly disappointed by the octopus, it was very chewy. I would not get it again. The dessert was delicious!

My wife and I were staying in Condado and wanted to have a nice dinner on a Sunday evening. We originally had a reservation for 9:00, then I received a text message from the restaurant, it said something to the effect that to due to some circumstances our reservation time had been changed to 8:15. It wasn't an issue for us, just pointing it out. The service is slow, but helpful, and I've come to expect that in PR. The food is very good, but at this price point, food excellence is expected. We had several starters and the chicharonnes were delicious. The mains were the guiso and fish of the day. The fish of day dish was fantastic and the guiso was okay.

A fun, flirty and spicy night out! This space strips away all the unnecessary flair and let’s the food SHINE. Beer is served in a short glass with paper napkins, the art on the wall is modern and entertaining. Alejandro was outstanding at explaining the menu and really pulling us into the experience. We ordered the chefs special and WOW we understood immediately why it was a menu staple. Each dish we had shone in its own right! I highly recommend this restaurant for a relaxed night away when you know the food is going to be outstanding.

We visited on Saturday night for dinner. They didn't open until 6:30pm but took our names. The place filled up pretty quickly. . Their menu was very simple and mostly written on the white board but the waiter explained to us more in detail. . We ordered crab, lion fish, and the picadillo. Food was good but we thought they were a bit too salty.

Based on the reviews, price point, relax atmosphere, this sort of place is normally my sweet spot. I left wanting. The fried fish had an innovative look, good crisp, and flavor, but was a tad overpriced for the app., and the sauce was basic. The popcorn balls felt heavy in the sauce, a butter base with several herbs and something else, I'm not able to place my finger on, perhaps garlic. Though if it was garlic lacked the kick and flavor of the below ground food gold. I really had hoped for more. I would give it a second chance if back in the neighborhood. The service was very good. I'm sure writing a review is unnecessary for such a phenomenal restaurant, but in case you're on the fence - GO! Once you can find the place (no sign outside, but I love this level of quirkiness) you will enjoy the most amazing culinary experience. Every dish is fine tuned to exceed your expectations. I got a main course of broccoli and even that was next level. I like that Jose Enrique is not pretentious. While the restaurant is clean and modern, there are no frills. The design is simplistic and the energy is poured into the important thing - the food. You will be served intricate and artistic dishes by tattooed waitstaff in Doc Martens, and you will wonder why every other restaurant doesn't operate this way and let the food speak for itself.

Our dining experience here was quite memorable here..... My native PR friend told me that Jose Enrique is THE best restaurant in PR, so we went. It's apparently their new location, because they didn't even have the sign completed on the day we ate there, no biggie. The menu is fairly short, which I appreciate. I like having a focused menu, which means they can probably make the limited dishes very well. I ordered my fav thing in PR: skirt steak, thinking if skirt steak is good in most other places in PR, imagine how fantastic it would be here! we also ordered the halibut with their signature sweet potato mash. The plating of the skirt steak was a bit surprising, I definitely paused my breathing for a couple seconds being all confused after the dish was served, couldn't make sense of it, I think my mind was refusing to accept that's gonna be the dish I would get. Then I unhappily took a bite, the meat was undercooked (i ordered medium rare) and it was not tender at all.....how in the world did they manage to do that?! then I tried the halibut......it was sooo dry..... I asked for the floor manager and told him about the fish, and he happily sent it back and brought us back a new plate, we cut the fish through and it was raw inside. We sent it back again. Third time did turn out to be a charm. Nothing to complain about anymore, but the meat was not impressive, not even memorable. I do have to admit, the sweet potato mash with the avocado and papaya salad on top was definitely the golden star of that dish, and was in fact probably my favorite food I had in my entire PR trip. The flavor of it is brilliant: sweet potato, savory mash, with purple onion, slightly sweet but delightfully juicy papaya, then creamy avocado, and then a little bit of cilantro. It was heaven. whoever came up with it, must be a genius. Giving it 4 stars because of the sweet potato mash.

Many photos you see on Google maps are from the old location. The menu now doesn't include some of those delicious looking items. 1.5 hour wait. I thought they didn't take reservations, but asked me if I had one when walked in. The mashed yams were great. The chocolate cake was delicious. Only paid parking in lot nearby

We loved it here! It was a nice evening, so we sat outside. There were lots of flies in the area, so our server (Diego) placed fly repellers at the table. They worked well. To start, we each ordered a jibarito (very tasty) and shared an order of croquetas pescado. We enjoyed those very much. My husband also ordered chicarron de pulpo, which he loved. I do not eat octopus, so I didn't' sample. It looked appetizing, though. For our entrees, we had pinon de ovejo and a whole fried fish (it was snapper on this day). My husband really enjoyed the lamb dish. The fish was served with fried plantains, and was so simple and flavorful. They were kind enough to remove the head (you have to ask). We did not have dessert, as we were heading to Anita's for gelato (reviewed separately).

Definitely some tasty food across the menu. Staff were super friendly and service was top notch. Their prices were good especially considering the quality of food we all received. They had a nice selection of rum. It was unanimous that their fish was cooked perfectly and was extremely delicious, but everything was quite tasty.

The food was amazing. The waitress was a but rude when I wanted something light, so I ordered 2 appetizers for my meal and we shared 1. She rolled her eyes when I said that's all I wanted. Other than that, it's a beautiful restaurant and the food and drinks were great.

We have eaten here a few times since moving to Puerto Rico. I personally love their ceviche but everything else we have had has been great. The servers are professional and the environment is enjoyable. I love the place inside as well, its beautiful.

Phenomenal food and drinks! The coconut-based ceviche is unique. Fish croquettes are great the red snapper is fried perfectly. The banana bread with vanilla ice cream was insanely good. So was the flan. Didn't love the tres leches

My husband and I visited this beautiful quaint place back in 2023. He recently asked me if I remembered the name. I had to do some digging but finally found it. Absolutely phenomenal experience! From the beautiful ambiance, delicious food and drinks, and top tier service, our experience was absolutely incredible. We were a group of 13 and our server Steph took really great care of us. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations to us on what to try. The pina colada was the best I had all weekend and the food was just amazing. Will be back!

First time in Puerto Rico, my coworker recommended me this place, he was right, this was the best so far on my trip. I ordered the churrasco Mofongo, it was amazing, I’m a huge steak fan and this is the best, I was so hungry that I ate it all, the portion was huge and prices were cheap. I also ordered a Passionfruit Mojito that was delicious. My server was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this place and hope to come back soon.

First time in Puerto Rico and found this place looking for mofongo. This place is a hidden gem and you owe it to yourself to check it out! The food was amazing and Emmanuel was very helpful and friendly. We got the coffee coquito and it was the best I've ever had!! You could taste the love and effort that went into making it. Highly recommend them and I'll be back someday.

Here’s a strong, clear, but still professional negative review you can post: ⸻ ⭐ 1/5 — One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had I came here around 4 p.m., and the restaurant was completely empty — which should have been my first sign. Despite the entire place being open, the server seated us directly under a fan that was blowing so strongly I was freezing. I moved myself to another table (again, the place was empty), but that chair was broken. When I tried to switch to any of the MANY available tables, the server rushed over telling us we had to sit on a specific side of the restaurant for no apparent reason. It already felt unwelcoming and strange. The food was even worse. We ordered mofongo with pork, and the pork was extremely salty, dry, and honestly barely edible. Everything we tried was overwhelmingly salty and just poorly prepared. For the price, it was incredibly disappointing. To make it worse, even though we were the only customers, the server avoided giving us the check — literally drying silverware at the counter while we sat there waiting. It felt like he was intentionally stalling. Overall, this was a frustrating, uncomfortable, and genuinely bad experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are so many better options nearby — save your time and money.

If you want a “hole in the wall” local gem, this is your spot! Walk through a clothing store, and enjoy local cuisine. Bathrooms are clean, well stocked, and smells good. We had a group of seven and everyone enjoyed their dish. Highly recommend.

Tiny, off the beaten path restaurants are the best and this is no exception. Beautiful decor and staff. Drinks are not too strong. Absolutely best place to be.

Food is good. The service is good but it’s slow. 1 person handling the floor and 1 in the kitchen do not expect to eat together and order 2 to 3 rounds of drinks the first time you get the guys attention. Cause it will be a while before he comes back to check on you.

The drinks at Tequila Cantina are delicious and the bartender is super sweet. We came here after trying to go to La Casita Blanca . It was a 2 hour wait there . Mofongo here was great but don’t do Bicteca . The pork was little too salty. If you are a New Yorker (Nuevayol in the house ) go for the drinks and maybe pizza , the locals love their pizza here .

First time coming here, loved it. Awesome for the whole family LOTS OF VARIETY from drink like beer rum mojitos, Mexican food, pizza, soup, burger, ice cream. Definitely recommend it to everyone. Went to Postreo Jaus, PIRA.RUM (Watermelon Mojito), Deep Dish (cheese deep dish & meat lover tavern pizza) today. All were awesome

Very nice touristic place for a beer or a coctail. Even better at night. We ate a Carribean food from the green track . Very delicious but pricey. (16$ with tax). They say that PR is a bit cheaper than the US but the prices here are still expensive. Nice for a drink only.

This was, hands down, our favorite spot in San Juan. We went both in the morning and at night, and both experiences were amazing. The bartenders were incredibly kind and professional — they prepared our cocktails right in front of us, based on personal recommendations, and really made us feel special. The cocktails were absolutely fantastic. We tried several different ones, and each had its own unique and delicious flavor. The atmosphere is that of a stylish, elegant bar — I’ll share some photos! Whether you’re looking to relax after a long, hot day or wind down after a night out, this is the best bar in Old San Juan. Highly, highly recommended!

Oh my god, La Factoría with live salsa completely blew my mind! The vibe, the dancing, the music — it’s all just incredible. Definitely a place you can’t miss. The cocktails are excellent, and it’s such a cool experience discovering hidden little bars behind different doors. It does get really hot inside, but honestly, I had an amazing time and would go back in a heartbeat.

I went to dance at this place with my friends because everyone recommended it. It did nit disappoint. It 's located in Old San Juan. Every room in this 2 story building has a bar with a different theme and music, so you can walk around from room to room and enjoy different types of music rhythms like Salsa, techno, reggaeton, techno, etc. The salsa room was packed with people dancing. It seemed like a good combination of locals and tourists.

It's somehow highly rated, but not worth the hype. It's kind of different bars all in one place where you can hop on, but becomes costly as you step up! You go here just for the atmosphere, but not for anything else. Cocktails and the food are good and so is the location.

Reviewed as a bar when looking for delicious drinks this place was ok at best. We arrived close to open and all the additional rooms were closed, so we were told lots of drink options weren’t available. Staff were friendly and service speed was decent. It definitely sounds like this place is a lot of fun at night as basically a club, but definitely not a place for amazing drinks. If you’re looking for great drinks go to Kane Rum Bar. Overall for all the amazing reviews this place was ok, so if you want the best experience for what they offer go at night.

This bar definitely has a great atmosphere. It has different rooms and each room has its own bar. Music is always on point here; can be loud but you’re still able to talk. It’s a tourist area, prices are according to that. Tip: there’s an area most people don’t know about. Have fun looking for it.

First off this place meets and exceeds all expectations. Edwin a master at his craft mixed a number of cocktails to perfection. Also was kind enough to suggest apps and entry which were all on point. Surely will return over and over.

One of the best meals and restaurant experiences of my life. Not only the food, but the service. Our server, Nisyha, was so knowledgeable and passionate about the dishes and our experience it made our dinner all the more enjoyable. Edwin is an incredible mixologist and I highly recommend Espiritu Libra. There is food and then there are dishes created with so much passion and love that the flavors transcend. El Mercado y su Pulpo was an explosion of flavors so perfectly balanced I will be thinking about it for days to come. Post Casa Moreyra was one of the best ceviches I’ve had. The wasabi leche de tigre was so smooth and creamy with just enough spice to enhance the dish. The matcha cheesecake with black sesame and sesame ice cream made me cry. Go hungry, try new dishes, expect to have the time of your life. Gracias por la mejor comida de mi vida!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Sur Barra Nikkei. The overall ambiance of restaurant, service of the staff, cocktails, outstanding food, were on point. Restrooms were very clean too. A hidden gem in Santurce. We’ll definitely be back.

I sat at the bar and didn’t have a cocktail, but the bartender was incredibly nice and clearly a true craftsman. Watching him make things like vermouth-flavored marshmallows from scratch was so impressive! You can tell everything here is made with care and creativity. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and the whole experience felt special from start to finish. Highly recommend this place — it’s a gem for both food and craft cocktail lovers.

They are serious about their coffee at Cafe Regina. I asked for a pour over, and the bean that I asked for they no longer had, so the barista talked me through another option, and I could tell he cared about the coffee. I was delightfully met with a funky medium roast brew that was nuanced in flavor and almost tea like. My husband had a latte that was also wonderful. The place is quite crowded. There was consistently a line and rarely a table for those who wanted their drinks to stay. I can understand why it is so popular, but the small space and the high volume of people doesn’t make this a place where you want to stay awhile and read a book or journal or work. The space is bright and minimal with large windows and light woods and white. It feels like a trendy coffee shop in New York.

This is a very cute cafe with nice lighting and plants. A good open space with delicious coffee and breakfast items. The toast portion is a little on small side, so it might not fill you up. The pricing is comparable to the other trendy cafes in the area, just expect touristy pricing because of the location.

One of my new favorite cafes for a Sunday breakfast! Coffee is good, but the papaya bowl is out of this world!!!! I also love their pumpkin grilled cheese- absolutely amazing. However, it does get very busy, long line and limited seating. So be aware.

Nice breakfast spot. Limited seating for the amount of people who visit. Too many guests lingering for 30 or more minutes after done eating. Normally not an issue however there are too many people ordering and needing to eat/drink. Not an ideal spot to spend more time than necessary - be considerate of others so this business can thrive by selling/serving. No issues with dogs, however with the limited seating and space to stand/walk/sit, this is not a good place to bring a dog (for the dog and others who can easily step on your dog's paw or trip over). Families will find it difficult to have a table/chairs for 4 or more - be prepared to take food to go or stand and eat. Visit when not busy for a chance at seats if your kids need to sit. Overnight oats was a huge portion and tastey -- could use more fruit than 6 or 7 slices of banana (apple, pear, etc). Was a bit too sweet. Filter coffee okay but overpriced for one mug.

Cafe Regina is truly one of the coolest coffee experiences in San Juan! With a very hip vibe, the Cafe accurately represents the diversity of the City. It is lively and has a delicious selection of quality artisanal coffees, as well as a great menu. Most importantly, you will never have an iced cashew milk latte quite like this one! They make their own cashew milk and mix it with real maple syrup. That’s truly taking iced lattes to the NEXT LEVEL! ☕️👍🙏

This store is not very eye-catching in Loiza. They are very busy, and the service is very warm! I ordered their cashew iced coffee, toast and a cake. The taste is very good. Personally, I don't like coffee very much because I don't like sour with some milk I should to asking next time jaja . But the overall feeling is quite good. I recommend everyone to have a try.

We found this place accidentally, but what a find it was! Both our lamb and chicken couscous and the eggplant cod filet were amazing. I mean one of the best foods we’ve had so far. And the service was amazing. Highly recommend 10/10.

A local hangout. Owner is French. The food was delicious and our bartender was extremely personable and gracious. The city lost water and we happened to stumble into the place looking for lunch. What a find!!

Homey lil bistro with great bites, good service, and well made drinks. Mussels were the star of the orders we made, but the baked goat cheese was a close second. Feel like all the appetizers and mains were spot on and I would have ordered more and skipped out on the desert here which wasn't on the same level of quality. Not docking a star for that though because the rest was so good

An atmospheric and vibrant restaurant with delicious and fresh food. The chef’s dishes leave you feeling full but light. Ordered the salmon tartare, lamb shank, and creme brulee. Drank the most gorgeous espresso martini made by Nicolette, the awesome bartender.

Best food in Condado (and we tried many restaurants in the area) We went here twice and every single dish was excellent. We are vegetarian and loved the corn and pumpkin soups, the salad, the main veggie dish, and even a side of rice and beans. So good! The restaurant has three distinct floors, two of them outdoor with a beautiful breeze and oceanfront view. The staff were incredibly nice and kid friendly.

Oh. My. God. The food was amazing, everything we had. The seafood ceviche, the duck mofongo, the fish the drinks, I cannot express how much you will be sorry if you miss it. I suggest a reservation, the food is good and everyone knows. There is also amazing beach front seating on the patios! I would suggest this as a date restaurant, families go but I would not take kids. Its a very sexy place and the bar was amazing! Great, just great everything.

This place is a must if you are visiting San Juan! I want to say that the food was great but the service was AMAZING!! The staff were very attentive and professional. We ordered the calamari and ropa vieja for appetizers which were quickly bought out, they were tasteful and great portions. For entrees we both ordered the surf and turf which was the best steak and lobster I ever had, the lobster was fresh and steak cooked perfectly to my liking. Overall the experience was 5 stars, the cherry on top was the spectacular view.

The view is amazing. I think the food was fine, even good. It was just not as good as I expected. The drinks were over priced and small. And I thought that the plastic furniture was a miss. Planning a 40-50 person wedding in San Juan is not easy if you're on a budget, but Oceano fit all of our needs. We started out looking at the hotels but felt the minium consumption was over the top for what you get. Oceano offered a spectacular view, privacy, and amazing food at a fair price. Negotiations and changes to our contract were all handled by Juan Carlos with the utmost professionalism. We were blown away by the tasting and on the wedding day, our guests raved about the food. The bartenders were on point with fast personal service. We had the pork carving station at our cocktail hour on the 3rd floor and the guests seriously would not stop talking about how delicious the pasta was. My husband's 85-year-old Abuela said the pork was on point, and she's a tough critic! With our 39 guests, Oceano's 2nd floor provided plenty of room for dancing and partying and we were not disturbed by any patrons and music volume was never an issue. Even if we'd had all our 50 guests RSVP I don't think it would have been too tight. The DJ was able to have music on both the 2nd and 3rd floors simultaneously. Do yourself a favor and have the white glove service! The staff at Oceano were so professional, none of my guests realized it was a buffet. The service was phenomenal. No guests waiting in lines or fumbling and spilling dinner on their dresses! Thank you so much Juan Carlos! We really had the best night ever dancing and partying all night with our family!

We were able to get an amazing ocean front table for two around 9pm, same day at Oceano. we were waited on my Gabrielle who was accommodating and thoughtful. The food was served warm (not very hot). The flavors were good. The appetizer was excellent. We mentioned to Gabrielle that we were celebrating a special occasion, she made it a wonderful evening with sparkling wine and dessert too.

Loved my entire surf and turf dish!!! Very tasty!!! The red snapper dish could have used a little more seasoning. The chocolate cake dessert was good as well...according to my friends and the plate!!! 🤗 The best restaurant in the area❣ And Deigo the waiter made the night out very pleasant as well and the scenery was lovely!!!

I come here 3-4 times a week! It is always crowded but staff make the line it go down in seconds. Coffee is always great and best prices! I always have a double caramel latte with a cream cheese bagel! Thanks guys!

We touched down at SJU at 1 am. We were so tired and had a long ride ahead. When the GPS spotted a 24 hr cafe Estacio, I was a happy camper. Anticipating a bustling bistro, imagine the shock when we pulled into a Shell station. The Barrister was lovely though and the pastries were yummy. We felt so safe that we decided to buckle down for a nap before heading off. Totally off the beaten path and more personable than a bustling bistro. I loved it.

I've been coming here for months! The espresso they make is great! The staff is very friendly. You get a really good vibe as soon as you pull into the station & are immediately greeted by the distinct choice in music. If you go try my daily driver which is a 12oz latte with 5 shots! It might seem like a lot to moat but it's bold taste is so satisfying! Ask for it by name! Say I'll have the same as Gregory! Haha

I visited by myself for a treat on a solo trip, and it was a highlight on an overall fantastic vacation. Every moment of this meal was incredible. The atmosphere feels like your coolest friend's living room, making wait time for dishes more like a chill invitation to explore the space, chat with other diners, read a book from the staff's personal library, etc. The food/wine and dining experience was unforgettable – certainly one of the top in my life. This team is so talented. The service was exceptional. The staff were beyond welcoming, and I loved the spontaneous conversations that happened with other guests. I also learned so much about the locally-sourced ingredients. Carve out 4-5 hours for a meal here, and dream about it for the rest of forever. Am I being hyperbolic? No.

One of the most incredible dining experiences I have ever had. The entire menu is 23 courses so do plan ahead that dinner might last the entire evening. However, every dish that came out of the kitchen was absolutely delicious and was also so thoughtful. There are no servers at the restaurant. Instead, the chefs and sous chefs themselves bring you the food which makes for a much more intimate dining experience. Although the menu itself has the quality of a three Michelin star restaurant, the surroundings feel more humble and cozy. The kitchen is small and diners are invited to visit and chat with the chefs throughout the meal. Would give this six stars if I could.

This was such a fun dining experience! The space is small and intimate, and you get to chat with the chefs as they bring out each course. It’s fine dining but with a relaxed atmosphere. It’s like hanging out at a friend’s place who happens to be an amazing chef and wants you to try all their latest dishes. The menu is always changing so we will definitely be back next time we are in San Juan!

We stopped in during our recent cruise aboard the Carnival Celebration. It was highly recommended so we had to try it out. Unfortunately, I guess everyone on the ship decided to do the same, as they got slammed, slowing down service drastically. They opened at 11am, sitting by 1105a and done by 135p, not quite how I wanted to spend my afternoon in Puerto Rico but the food was delicious and our waiter was awesome. He continued to check on us constantly, bringing us drinks and informing us of the delays. Overall great spot if no cruise ships in port.

As I'm walking down Calle Recinto Sur in Viejo San Juan, I had plenty of restaurants to choose from for dinner. But one restaurant caught my attention because of the staff that was outside of the door. From the moment I walked in, the servers were incredibly warm and hospitable, dressed in beautiful traditional Puerto Rican attire that added a sense of pride and authenticity to the atmosphere. The music? Absolutely phenomenal!!!! Playing Salsa from an older era was like stepping into a time capsule of Puerto Rican soul. The variety of paintings on the wall also added to the ambiance. For dinner, I ordered Jugo de Piña and the Churrasco with Mofongo. The portion was perfect, not too much and not too little. The pineapple juice even had a piece of fresh cut pineapple with it. There are a lot of restaurants to choose from, but Raíces is a solid choice.

I will say, we came here two years ago and didn’t think we’d ever try this place out again, tonight though- we were in disbelief how quickly our food came out & how delicious everything tasted. Staff was friendly/ welcoming, it was clean & a bit chilly. We were here 2 years ago, it was very hot & after waiting a super long time without being helped, we ended up leaving. So this was night and day difference! We will definitely be back!

Great food. Interesting theme in how the staff is dressed. Massive menu, too much. Longer than average food service time. Empanadillas were fantastic but partially filled. They didn't have any chicken breast (??). Plantain soup amazing. Kan Kan porkchop was incredibly dry, but I was too hungry to say anything.. luckily, I had water nearby. Fried cheesecake was amazing. The whole experience was jarring. Moments of greatness overshadowed by confusion. Subpar and nearly non-existent bar service time and attention, even when you sit AT THE BAR -- the focus is on fulfilling restaurant drinks over the bar drinks. 🤯🤷🏻‍♂️ Doesn't make sense to us either. Just don't sit at the bar, and you'll likely have a much better experience. With drinks, apps, entrées, and a dessert, total for 2 people came to about $125 before tip. That ticket total is somewhat inflated due to the substantially overpriced $36 sangria "full jar" (full glass) two were ordered.... when in San Juan....... 🤷🏻‍♂️👎🏻👍🏻🤦🏻‍♂️ Heralded as the best restaurant in San Juan, we'll still skip next time. Had better experiences and food elsewhere.

This restaurant was recommended on google reviews as being an excellent restaurant. There was no wait time, so that was a great. I ordered the oysters by the half dozen, which came quickly.The oysters were fresh, but a little bit gritty. They came with crushed ginger and a cocktail sauce that added nicely to the presentation and flavor. For my entree choice I requested the Shrimp Risotto. It came with 8 very nice size shrimp with tail on. That was a hindrance to the gastronimic experience I had. It is a dish that should be easy to savor without having to deal with removing the tail. The risotto was flavored with what would be recognizable as the type of "Cheese flavored packets" you find in off brand macaroni and cheese boxes found in the stores. Unfortunately, for me this ruined the gastronomic experience I had hoped to have. Nothing worse than powdered cheese sauce mix in a risotto of this anticipated dish. The service was sporadic and visually saw the staff more on their phones than servicing their tables. Perhaps other dishes ate better and I just chose the wrong on to try, however, there is no excuse for the Shrimp Risotto I was served. I did send back my risotto as I just couldn't enjoy the dish. I did mention my concerns to the staff and made sure they understood I wasn't asking for anything in return but to please relay my message to management. I certainly do not wish for anyone else to have a unfullfilling experience. It wasn't busy in the restaurant so not sure why but in any cases not a top recommendation on my part.

Oh my goodness!!! The treats here are amazing. We stopped in to kill some time before a tattoo appointment in the area. The sponge cake on a stick - so good. This is where I discovered Quesito’s - freshly made - warm, and so good! I inquired about some strangle little round bread things in a bag at the counter, and the cashier explained it was homemade right there for salads - similar to croutons - but fresh! He gave us some to try. We ended buying a bag to bring home. This little place is worth it. Side note: bathroom was unavailable while we were here.

This spot is a tourist trap. Food here was just alright, not worth a second visit. The sausage was lukewarm like it was cooked the previous day. The Empanadillitas with ground beef were pretty hard. Chicken mofongo and chuleta kan kan were also just okay. The best items ordered were the drinks!

Went here because it had a large menu selection and you can get breakfast all day. Service was wonderful, even when it got busy. Staff was super nice and accommodating. Food was hot and fresh and delicious. I would recommend this place for a good meal anytime of the day.

I would strongly suggest that you eat your toenails before you go to this restaurant. It was absolutely disgusting. I am going to post images of what was given to me and called Breakfast. I absolutely suggest that you find any other place to go to in this wonderful area rather than coming here. Ignore the other reviews that suggest that the food is good. Those people are either drunk or have really low standards. If you expect to eat regular food, this is not the place. When my food came out and I asked for the manager, he came to my table and wanted to argue that if I wanted an omelette with the ingredients on the inside, I should’ve asked for it that way. He also said if I wanted regular coffee, I should’ve asked for regular coffee. They actually gave me espresso with a lot of milk. This was a truly horrible experience.

I decided to try this restaurant because of the brunch menu. The restaurant opened up at 9am. I got there at 10am and they were sold out of the lemon ricotta pancakes 🥞 that fast. So I tried the st German breakfast. I didn’t like the potatoes because of the garlic seasoning. The eggs were ok and I didn’t care for the Italian sausage. The restaurant atmosphere was nice. I decided to give this restaurant a try because of their brunch menu. Unfortunately, I arrived at 10 am and they were already sold out of the lemon ricotta pancakes that I had been hoping to try. So, I opted for the St. German breakfast instead. The potatoes were a bit too garlic-y for my taste, and the Italian sausage was just okay. The eggs were fine, but I didn’t really care for them. On the bright side, the restaurant atmosphere was nice.

I needed some light food after being in PR a few days and I am so happy we found this place! The food and drinks were delicious! This was one of the best espresso martinis I’ve had.

We set our eyes on St. Germain Bistro Bar walking around beautiful Viejo San Juan. The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming, Gladys greeted us with such kindness she made me feel right at home! I highly recommend the Knox it's honestly the best churrasco sandwich I've ever had, it was so juicy and soft. Gladys was so attentive again her recommendations are great hope to see her again the next time we stop by!!! Muchas gracias Gladys!

Quick service, we were sat almost immediately. It was a good spot to rest after a long morning of walking all of San Juan. The brunch was delicious and they had great service.

Fish was over done. My husband's mashed potatoes were watery with three tiny mushrooms in a dish that had mushrooms in it's name...but the ambiance was on point. Prime location

Everything 100/10. The specialty lemonades were perfection. The food was clean (not greasy or heavy), and great portions. The key lime pie was the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot!). Very very good. When I am in town again I will be back for sure. We went right before the lunch rush and didn’t have an issue with wait time but once it got busy it took about 20 minutes to get our check. We weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t an issue but good to note. The staff were very nice, we spoke English and Spanish with them. I’m a little bit of a food snob and this place was EVERYTHING.

This place is a great local spot. They have their operational procedures down. The food is spectacular, and the coffee is great too. I had the Cuban and an Americano. Their pastry case filled with sweets was tempting, too. The place was always filled with people coming and going but it never felt crowded. I would highly recommend coming in for a visit.

Everything here was so good! We stopped by for breakfast one morning and ended up coming back 3-4 times over a one week trip. The bread is delicious but so are the dinner options, and prices are good. They also have a huge selection of pastries and dessert, and everything we tried was good. Coffee is ok.

This place looked charming, and with such a large menu, we walked in with high expectations. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to the warm hospitality we’d experienced elsewhere on the island. The service felt a bit cold, and the food followed suit. I ordered the Mallorca with bacon and cheese, but it was overly dusted with powdered sugar, and the amount of cheese—about 10 slices—was just overwhelming. I also tried the bread pudding, hoping for a nostalgic taste from my childhood, but it fell flat and lacked the richness I remembered. It’s a beautiful spot with potential, but sadly, our experience didn’t match the promise.

Recommended this spot by a local and former President Obama came here. The restaurant is divided into two sections, a sandwich line and a bakery line. The Bistec was a bit bland and heavy with the steak imagine it like a Philly cheese steak style meat and shoestring fries stuffed inside. The Cuban sandwich was a bit better because it had sour pickles to help lift up the heaviness of the sandwich. Overall the sandwiches are okay, but nothing to rave about. The desserts were fun to try, the local signature is the guava pastelito which is like a sugar coated hard puff pastry filled with guava jam. They also have cakes, flans, and other baked goods as well as chocolate bon bons if that interested you. Good for a large group setting!

I came here for brunch since it was recommended by staff in the nearby hotel where I was staying. For about $20, I had an omelette, pancakes, quesito, and water. The food was okay. I think it's more popular for pastries and other dessert.

This place is highly overrated. I’ve tried two different pastries and they taste nothing like they should. The palmier (palmera) was thick, dry and dense. Not flaky and light like they are from a French bakery or any good bakery. The tiramisu tasted like pancake syrup. It was also thick dry and dense and I could only eat one bite it was so nasty.

It’s the overpriced for what you get. The tripleta sandwich was mid at best. The quesito was decent. The coffee just okay. The line was LOOOOOONG. The staff was friendly. There is parking, but I walked there.

Went in for breakfast around 10am on a Friday. It wasn’t crowded and we were able to get a seat quickly. Their baked goods looked lovely and we grabbed the Mala Resa (could be a different spelling). It was a sandwich cake with guava jam in between, not too sweet. From their menu, we had the avocado toast. For $10, I would expect a larger toast or two of the smaller toasts so this was a little overpriced. The other one was croissant with ham, cheese and guava butter. For $10 or something around that, it was filling and I loved it. But nothing beats their iced latte. We had no sugar and it tasted the best. Definitely a must try! The only drawback was that service was a little slow for a time when it wasn’t too crowded.

We came here for breakfast and it was very good! We got a latte and ~cinnamon roll~ to start. Then we got the croissant sandwich and the cuatro sombras sandwich, which were both very good! The cafe was also very cute. There is also an outdoor seating area.

Great coffee shop! Food was delicious and they have plenty of options for sweet pastries, it has also good variety of breakfast. It has a calm atmosphere, very nice to go with friends, solo or with couple. It gets busy, so definitely consider that. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I ordered the croissant with ham & cheese, with guava, it was awesome, also had a quesito.

No Wifi, misleading reviews prior lead me to think they did. But it wasn’t a big deal. This is a nice, quiet dimly lit cafe with many options for food and drink. They have delicious food options, an easy to read menu, friendly staff and comfortable seating area with pillows. I recommend this place! Chai was well made and flavorful. They do have alternative milk options as well!

Cute little coffee house with modern/boho chic decor. The coffee was amazing. I had the double macchiato and it was rich and creamy in flavor. They have indoor seating and a small outdoor garden within the store. The prices are on the higher side but still worth it. A must visit when in Old San Juan.

It gets really noisy with people constantly walking around, which kind of ruins the vibe. The food takes a long time to prepare — I waited 30 minutes. So, if you’re thinking of grabbing a quick brunch in 20 minutes and heading out, this isn’t the place. But if you have an hour to spare, it’s actually a pretty good spot.

Deaverdura is such a gem in Old San Juan! The food is full of authentic Puerto Rican flavor and feels homemade with love. We tried a mix of everything—fried plantains, sausages, and mofongo—and it was all delicious. Portions are generous and perfect for sharing with family or friends. The restaurant itself has a cozy, colorful vibe that makes you feel right at home. Service was friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy amazing food, and soak in the local culture. Definitely a must-visit if you want a true Puerto Rican meal in a relaxed, fun atmosphere!

This is a great and straightforward spot to have quintessential Puerto Rican dishes in Old San Juan. We had Alcapurria and bacalaito to start. I had pernil and arroz con gandulez for my main—and they hit the spot. Portion is perfect. As tourists, you don’t want to be over-served and carried a to go container but don’t want to leave hungry either. Drinks were good. We had pineapple and passion fruit con ron. Menu may not be as extensive, for example they didn’t have pollo guisado etc, but sometimes less is more. They are busy so have your order ready in one go. Closed on Monday.

The food was amazing. Everything was spot on full of flavor. It’s a small space so wait times can be brutal especially if you’re having to wait outside in the heat BUT it is totally worth the wait. The sampler platter alone was enough for three people to eat and be full.

I found this restaurant through Instagram reels. Walking from the cruise ship port, we passed other restaurants and my friends suggested stopping there, but I insisted on going here and hoped that Instagram was right. Thank goodness, it was right. This was some of the best food I’ve eaten all year. I’m still thinking about it. I got the pulled pork (pernil) with yellow rice, beans, and plantains. It was absolutely incredible. Fantastic flavor, and it was cooked to perfection. The restaurant is quaint and very casual. Nice authentic flavor and vibes. Did not feel touristy at all, in a good way.

Worth the wait! We went twice, and both times there was a line out the door—and for good reason. The place isn’t fancy, but the atmosphere is lively and full of local charm. The first time, we ordered the sampler and got a taste of everything: pork, rice, morcillas, tostones—it was all delicious. A true local gem we were happy to return to.

A quick Google search for Puerto Rican food within walking distance from Castillo del Morro lead us to Deaverdura. We also ended up with the sampler as other reviewers suggested. Thought it was good value and most of the items were good. The blood sausage …. It tasted exactly like the Korean version called sundae. The shredded pork, fried plantains/rice, and mini empanadas were good. The rest seemed a bit bland. Pineapple and tamarind juice hit the spot after walking in the humid but quaint cobblestone streets of old San Juan. Servers were nice but didn’t get much attention after the food arrived.

When you arrive there is a sign outside the restaurant telling you to wait for service. This can be anywhere from 10-30 minutes. Servers spend time with customers and provide good service and to do that they manage the amount of people coming in. Be respectful and wait for them to invite you in. The food was incredible. I got a coconut with rum as my drink and my wife got passion fruit juice. We got the chicken with garlic, white rice, and beans as well as the arroz con gandules and pernil. As is customary in Puerto Rico, each of our plates came with salad dressed with olive oil and vinegar. I wish we had more people with us so we could have ordered the appetizer sampler. This was easily one of the best meals we had in Viejo San Juan. This is a local spot where most of the customers were Boricua.

There was live piano player which created a beautiful and enchanting atmosphere. Mary provided excellent service! The shrimp and lobster ravioli is recommended with the addition of jumping shrimp. We had a small infant and they were quite accommodating. I believe my little one enjoyed this enchanting experience.

I would recommend this place to anyone visiting San Juan, very intimate and romantic for couples or even friends! The food is amazing, we got the tuna tartare as an appetizer and it was delicious. The drinks are top notch, and the owner is very kind and plays the piano beautifully! Very cool to learn he played with The Beach Boys back then!

Good and not good experience at the restaurant. The live music was great, the interior design is amazing. Customer service is good too. The pasta I had wasn’t great. Just simple store bought pasta with homemade sauce, not impressed , especially for the price I paid.

We had a great time at Carli’s! Even with the water shortage, the food was delicious. Mari was on point and very helpful, fantastic waitress. Surprise guests played the piano and sang. Carli played some good tunes as well! Will definitely come back when we visit again.

I was drawn in by the live jazz music and stayed for a drink and light meal. We had the fruit and Manchego cheese plate for an appetizer and the grouper filet for our entrée. The grouper was buttery smooth and not dry or overcooked, and the veggies weren't overly soft or crunchy, just the perfecttenderness. All of the food was quite flavorful and I felt no desire to add salt or pepper to my food. We also had a total of two cocktails, both very delicious. Instead of tap water to go with the cocktails we opted for sparkling water, which came in a large glass bottle that they served to us over ice in individual glasses. The house musician played guitar beautifully, and played a mixture of various Latin jazz styles (i believe he played mostly samba, tho). The one downside was that the service was a tad slow for the lack of customers; our orders for food and drink were taken quickly but we ended up waiting quite a long time for our drinks and they came out separately from the appetizer and entrée. To their credit, we did seem to bring the crowd with us, so it got busy not long after our arrival which could've been the problem, especially as we weren't served out of order of arrival. I was trying to give 4.5 stars but it doesn't allow for half stars, so I rounded down a tad bit.

After I landed in Puerto Rico it was pouring, so I didn’t had a chance for days to go outside to enjoy anything. I landed in the afternoon & by the time I reached my hotel I can’t wait to try some authentic food ! So from the hotel they recommended this restaurant. It wasn’t that far, most probably could have walked but it was pouring outside lol..! I was very excited to try the Mofongo everyone told me to try while being in Puerto Rico. Obviously meat isn’t halal so I have tried the shrimp one. I gotta say I didn’t like it at all, highly disappointed! It was kinda sad & made me scared for rest of my trip to try Mofongo different place. The thing is everyone will not like everything they will ever try, just because I didn’t like this dish doesn’t mean I will not like anything else. I did like the dessert called Tres Le Che, yum! The price is on the higher side, so it made me little skeptic about rest of my trip. But I was on my first solo trip & simply thing like this will not scared me off ___ Customer service is great, place is big enough, decor is nice. Restroom was good. I stayed here for a while just to see if the rain stops so I can go somewhere near by to enjoy! They volunteered to take some pictures lol, and you know me it made me extra happy lol

This place was just okay. We ordered pina colada’s and they weren’t good at all. Portions were big but still didn’t seem worth the prices. Monfongo was descent. Highlights of the meal were the ceviche tacos and fish bites This place left a lot to be desired especially based on its popularity and recommendations.

The service was great, our sever was so attentive. The food was OK but definitely not going back. The portions are good but for the price that u got u need a good kitchen.

OMG! Food at this place is absolutely delicious! Steaks, chicken, fish, tropical dishes, and drinks. I had an amazing time with my family and friends. The service staff made it feel even better, with their promptness and kindness.

Fish was fresh, but fried at low temperature which makes it to absorb lots of oil, in addition they put too much salt. Plantains were cold, chewy and dark brown which means they weren't fresh. Fish was ordered with rice and beans because all orders come with salad, and it was delivered with 2 salads. When I questioned the server he stated he did the same comment at the kitchen but they told them to take it as served.

Do not recommend the shrimp tacos. They were fried extra hard. Snapper was great. Waiters were quick and efficient handling a large group.

Food was great. I was able to pick my own fresh snapper that was delicious! The picture does not do its justice. My family also enjoyed the food and the services was also great, very friendly staff. We will definitely be visiting again when in PR.

The food was good- very filling for the price! I’m not sure of the rules when it comes to getting a server here, but we sat ourselves and then when we were ready to order we went and got the server. The overall service was pretty quick and they were kind. We got the beef la alcapurria and then a Carne grits pork and a chicken chicharrones plate. The one with chicken had mofongo- it wasn’t my favorite but i found myself eating it still (i liked the texture).

This place is a VIBE!! Best mofongo I’ve ever had!!!! Hands down! The alcapurrias were on point. I had a cocktail too and it was real good. Good music playing in the background. Lots of locals eating here too. The Best sign of a good spot to eat. A total VIBE! Will come again.

One of my favorite and probably the most authentic meal I had on my visit to Puerto Rico. Bustling, loud, crammed and very local was the vibe. I was cool with it because the servers were fast and attentive and the food was incredible. It was a fun experience hitting a less touristy spot. I would absolutely go eat lunch here again.

I have no complaints about this place. Food quality, portions, and prices were worth the visit alone. The passion fruit mojito and octopus salad are amazing and the alcapurrias are giant! And right next to La Placita. Definitely on the itinerary for our next visit to PR.

You can’t come to Puerto Rico and not eat authentic Puertorican food! The conejo y queso de bola pastelillo is amazing! Any meat with arroz con habichuela is sooo good! They drinks are strong and well made, not basic drinks. Everyone is kind and welcoming!

Alcapurrias is fantastic. Here is one of the few places you can find food around noon.

Great food in a fun & lively section of San Juan. In the barrio of Santurce, La Placita has great food places and a vibrant nightlife. La Alcapurria Quemá has all the Puerto Rican classic dishes. All for a great price with good portions. Among a couple of other things we had alcapurrias, pasteles, & arroz con habichuelas and they were all great! Highly recommend.

This place was so cute and the food was delicious! Definitely not a lot of indoor seating, but the coffee was strong and the sandwiches and salads were amazing. Would definitely go back on our next visit!

We are so pleased we found Spiga for our wedding! We ordered an assortment of their fresh bread and pastries to have on the dinner tables for our guests to snack on, and it was such a perfect touch. They even made fresh rosemary butter that paired beautifully with the bread—it was absolutely delicious. Spiga was so friendly, quick to respond, and made the entire process easy. The bread and pastries were unbelievably fresh and flavorful—our guests couldn’t stop raving about them! Even though I didn’t get many photos, (you can see it staying fresh under the white cloth on the dinner tables) I’ll never forget how amazing everything looked and tasted. I highly recommend providing guests with fresh bread and butter at your wedding—it was such a thoughtful, memorable detail that everyone loved. Thank you, Spiga, for making our day even more special!

The best breakfast food I have had in a very long time. Everything was absolutely delicious! The sandwiches were so packed with delicious goodness and the stratta was out of this world. Maria was a great hostess, very friendly and efficient.

Super cute hole in the wall breakfast/coffee joint. The coffee was super good and I loved that if you’re eating in they come to your table to take your order and they have anyone who is taking anything to go wait in line. We ordered the almond bun and chocolate bun and they were to die for. We also got a ham and cheese breakfast sandwich as well as the stratta and it was amazing. The stratta was so yummy. Would definitely come back

This is an incredibly charming SMALL establishment for breakfast and lunch. The pastries were next level, and the coffee was delicious. The specials looked amazing for lunch if you’re in the area and looking. Forewarning, not much seating and slightly chaotic ordering process, but it’s well worth it. The staff is lovely and helpful as well.

This place was INCREDIBLE. The seasoning on every food was amazing !! Even down to just some simple potatoes. We ordered the garlic parmesean potatoes as a side and WOW. The best potatoes I've ever eaten in my life. They just melted into your mouth. So good! The prices are a little up there but doable ! It's in a prime location so it was to be expected. We had a great view of the stage inside of the T-Mobile district where we sat which was pretty cool. There's indoor and outdoor seating for this restaurant. There's a bar and a separate area for a cigar bar as well. I was thankful the cigar bar was away from the dining area because Im not a fan of the smell. I didn't smell any cigars the entire time we were eating.

This place was AMAZING. From the moment you walk in, I loved everything about it—beautiful decor details, that smoky wooden smell, and extraordinary services. This place is a 100/10. I love trying nice places to eat, and this one was just WOW. Everything you order here, you honestly won't stop tasting each food and enjoying every bite. Our server was Joel, and he was such a great server, answering all of our questions and explaining the menu in great detail. We ordered the Buscando Guayaba drink—this was 10/10. My sister ordered the Piña a la Roca—also a 10/10. For an appetizer, we had the Pasta y Queso. We also ordered the Octopus on Re-frito Black Beans Hummus, which was out of this world. For entrees, we had the Prime New York with black truffle butter as a topping and the oregano-Aji Chimichurri sauce. We paired this with Malanga Garlic Puree and the Pegaito a Caballo—that was so delicious. This place is a must-try. I recommend it with my eyes closed. Mario Pagan, you are doing an amazing job. This was such an incredible dinner.

So this review is solely for the Cigar lounge in La Central. This was a very nice cigar lounge and it has a great spacious room with perfect ventilation. Also it's very clean and modern . This lounge of course has a humidor and supplies for use while smoking. You can purchase drinks and food while enjoying your cigars. The customer service is also very good and attentive without being pushy. I will definitely return whenever I visit San Juan Puerto Rico.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The restaurant and whole environment at the Distrito were fabulous and fun. We enjoyed sirloin steak, roasted chicken and wine from their extensive wine list. Cocktail selections were also great. Both the food and service were excellent. We will be back.

This modern tropical steakhouse is the creation of renowned Puerto Rican Chef & passionate ambassador for the island’s cuisine, Mario Pagán. The ambience is lively and fun, the food full of flavor and the custom cocktails, like this tobacco infused one, hit the spot. We had a great time here!

Ivan our waiter was amazing! Very attentive and helpful. Food was very good. Chuleta Kan Kan is good but a bit hard. Churrasco was very good and tender, done perfectly. Nice atmosphere. Very busy place and food took a while to come out but it was busy especially today that it's Easter. Will be coming back.

Food was decent. My chicken wings were very dry. Service was good. It rained pretty hard while we were eating outside so it was a nice ambiance. Pretty pricy for the food, but that’s the theme of the restaurants in the TMobile district.

Food was good. My favorite thing was the Jibaro rice, it had perfect flavor! We loved the Filete de mero with garlic sauce. My favorite puertorrican food is tostones and the ones they served us tasted like old frozen ones (very bad). Overall the Jibaro ricr was so good I forgat the tostones.

Good restaurant with amazing food and nice staff. There was a wait and the outside seating does have a view of the T-Mobile district if that’s your thing. Some dishes were pricey but they were also good in the moment. HUGE portions had some left over for the next day. The flavored lemonades were delicious

I was disappointed in the atmosphere it was really nothing to see. This place is located on the TMobile mall in Puerto Rico. The wait for a table this night was crazy over 40 minutes. The food wasn't all that and we ordered just about half of everything on the menu. From the bacalito, to the chueletas and drinks. The fried pork was over fried and it was hard. The rice was probably the best thing on the menu. The decor was kinda cute. I really can't say much about this place because every thing we had was either too salty or over cooked. Thank goodness we had a friend with us who ets everything otherwise it would have all gone to the garbage. But as always go check it out for yourself and write a review. One thing I have to say is Si vas a representar la orgullosa herencia culinaria de la cultura puertorriqueña, ¡sirve y cocina la comida correctamente!

If you’re staying at the Aloft San Juan by the Convention Center, you are in for a treat. Just steps from the hotel's front door is Sazón Cocina Criolla, in the heart of Distrito T-Mobile. Whether you're solo or with a group of friends, this restaurant and the location are a great choice and offer a variety of traditional dishes. I started out with an Empanadilla de Pernil for my appetizer. This was a first for me as I usually get this with beef, but the pernil was a solid recommendation. For my entree, I had Churrasco with Plantanos, which really hit the spot. All of this went along great with a Pina Colada. Salon is located inside the T-Mobile District and is absolutely a great spot to spend some time and unwind. Between the music, the flavors, and the energy, Sazón amounts to more than just a dinner. It’s an absolutely great experience, which is why it is one of my regular spots.

This was our worse dining experience we have ever had on this beautiful Island. Our waitress was Dennise, she rarely checked on our table. Our drinks took about 25 minutes to arrive. It was myself and two teenagers 15 and 17. Our food took an hour to arrive, I ordered stewed cod (horrible it was very fishy tasting I assume the fish was not fresh). My sides were rice and beans (rice was sticky and beans had no taste at all, very bland). I also ordered arepas, they were delicious. Most of our food was left as we couldn't eat it. My granddaughter ordered Sorullos stuffed with cheese and Mini alcapurrias (they were over cooked and hard). The Sorullos were good. My other granddaughter ordered the same as myself (stewed cod) She tried eating it and like me, she didn't like it. She liked the arepas that came with it. Also ordered was Mofongo, very dry, took one bite only, left the rest. I had sweet tea and loved it. The girls had non-alcoholic Pina Colada (they each drank two, they really loved it). I personally will not return here (My bill was $103 I left a $17 tip our server looked at it and walked away. Not even a thank you and I went against my granddaughter's wishes not to tip because our server did not serve our food someone else came plus the fact that she never came back to check on us! Please check the place out for yourselves, you may have a better experience, One thing I can say is that it does not represent the authentic culinary heritage of our Puerto Rican culture that is experienced throughout the Island. The tourist seem to like the place so that's great for the economy. Not worth the money we spent. Very pricy for food we didn't eat. DTMO is a great place and fun time for all members of the family.

JungleBird is located in a lively neighborhood with plenty of bars and music. I loved the cool aesthetic, and the vibe was great—everyone there seemed really happy. We only had drinks, but the food looked delicious and definitely worth trying next time.

Their mix drinks were average. It was hard to come here after Kane Rum bar which really put the standard high. Their prices were on par for the area just not the quality compared to Kane. We sampled some appetizers, but overall nothing was worth mentioning. Staff were friendly and service was fast, but the place was empty. Overall I really wanted to like this place it was just a let down.

I’m soooo happy I found this cocktail bar. I tried a couple drinks and all of them were fantastic. The best part were the prices. $10-$14 for a drink that’s made with love and care? Go next door and pay $9 for a rum and coke.

Interesting place. The good: The drinks and service were great. The food was good as well. The other side: This places smell really weird. The music is quite loud and the tables and menus need updating. Would I go back? Probably, yes, the drinks were that good.

I cannot speak highly enough about Junglebird and the lovely bartenders. My husband and I showed up like a couple of nerds at 5:01 to be sure we could get seats at the bar. We got super VIP treatment by Robertson and Ed.. they schooled us on PR tiki history and served the most amazing drinks.. my favorite of all time the green swizzle that I’ve since been obsessed with recreating. The food was also bomb. This review is a bit late. Went in December 2024. Can’t wait to return this December!

Can't speak to the food since we never got to visit. Having no phone # on their site should have been my first clue. They don't answer Instagram messages either. We arrived at 645. They open at 5 only to be told its a private event and they open at 8. How pray tell would anyone divine that without being able to contact them. When the staff member saw us trying the door they said we open at 8. I mentioned "you don't have any way to contact you on your website so how would we know you're not open?", the response was a shrug and "we dont have a number". Not sure how they get this many stars but they are not helpful in attracting customers. TRY AT UOUR OWN RISK. And have a backup plan

I don’t say this lightly when I say, they have the best tuna tartare on the island. I’ve been visiting PR monthly for the past year and I’ve had a lot of opportunities to try different restaurants’ version on it, and JungleBird found the secret sauce! The drinks are good, i love the atmosphere and the service has always been acceptable…but I’m just here to tell you all to go try the tartare and report back!

If you can, sit at Maggie's table! Our entrees came and one of which seemed off to me; luke warm and no taste. Maggie came and asked if I would like to get something else, and recommended the shrimp dish. I agreed to change my dish to the shrimp and it was much better! Not only was she attentive to us, we saw her taking pictures for one of the tables, and wiping the lens to make sure that the pictures come out clear! Thoughtful by nature. I would gladly go to any restaurant with her as my server!

Fantastic place. They serve decent food in a good price. You can count on nice cocktail here too. Service is super hospitable and friendly, you can be sure they will help you with your orders and choosing the best combination. Mahi mahi was good but a little bit dry, still worth ordering! Shredded pork with some rice and bean on a side was a mind breaker. Tortilla wraps with chicken - okay but what’s new? Definitely recommend this place, portions are big (you can ask waiters how big exactly they are, they are eager to help anytime) so you won’t leave the place hungry. Be sure you are not allergic to pretentious plate decorations, because they try it really hard. I think we all can forgive this fact, because they can feed you right and in a nice scenery (place is located on a rooftop).

I don't know why other people gave it less than 5 stars. The wait can be long but two doors down are nice bars to sit and wait until they text you. It is worth the wait! The flavors are so yummy and seasoned to perfection. They have drink specials and the food isn't expensive. The staff are attentive and friendly. I found this place from a woman who was staying at my hotel from Orlando. She was going and talked me into going with her. I am glad I did. Next time I am town, I plan to return. It is kind of hard to find and the elevator is hilarious how it only takes 4 people at a time.

I love this place! The staff speak both English and Spanish, they have very good happy hour 2 for 1 mojitos. Prompt and tasty. If you arrive after 4pm the wait times can be over 30 minutes however they have a very good system to let you know and many small shops close by to waste time.

The food was ok, service was pretty good. They do not have good vegetarian options. Only appetizers. The worst part about going to this restaurant is the lift the then the stairs. The lift reminds me of some horror movie. The stairs were super smelly.

An excellent, slightly off the main road, restaurant on the top floor of a hotel in beautiful San Juan. This an excellent restaurant for local cuisine with helpful wait staff for beginners. The mojitos are some of the best in the islands. They are also happy to help accommodate children with less adventurous palates with chicken fingers or a smaller order of nachos. The panoramic views are a beautiful way to enjoy the sun setting over the city. A must visit if you have only a little time in the city.

Great place for authentic food, scenic views and great drinks!! Perfect location for cruise ship tourists, however be prepared to wait as it’s a smaller location but absolutely worth the wait!! Mofongo was recommended as a must have when visiting Puerto Rico and I must say...it is!!! This is a tasty dish of mashed plantains creamy garlic sauce and choice of topping, we did churrasco it was amazing!! Drinks are great we had a wide select at our table and they were all very good. The PDV EYD “drink” is actually drunken fruit and was probably the strongest alcohol at our table which we all enjoyed. 😂 The views from the roof top are great day or night time but I preferred night as the city lights are beautiful as well as the cruise ship lights which you can see from the restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant any time you’re in San Juan!!

We made a reservation for the Playlist Chef’s Table experience and WOW—-it was amazing. We were seated at the bar and right from the first moment we felt like we were a part of the back of the house team! The food was amazing—watching the chefs prepare the food with such love and care was a sight to see! We also got the wine pairings with each course. All were amazing and the wine service was great, too. Highly recommend this dining experience!

Pio Pio is a very cute coursed hole in the wall restaurant in the middle of Old San Juan. The chef is a cute Irish gentleman with a terrific Puerto Rican inspired menu. Highly recommend the Con Coco cocktail, which is basically an old fashion with coconut flavoring. The meal started with a cream tart, lobster roll, and a crudo. I especially liked the creaminess of the lobster roll. Following that was a swordfish tortellini — I’ve not had a fish tortellini before and I was pleasantly surprised at the texture and flavor! Easily my favorite with at the restaurant. It was magical to see the staff make the tortellinis in front of us. We liked the lamb and dessert as well. But the real star after the tortellini was the Irish coffee with an ice cream sandwich. Beautifully sweet but not overpoweringly so. Great vibe and a family feeling amongst the staff, they definitely are passionate about what they do! Do note that the meal will get into the $300s for two, so if that’s not your cup of tea then be warned.

This is one of the top 5 meals of my life! Such an intimate setting, you get to talk to the chef’s and watch them create the amazing cuisines. I would highly recommend the tasting menu. On top of the food, had the best champagne and white wine I have ever had. As not a huge wine person I would have finished both bottles if I want so full from all the amazing food.

I ordered the tasting menu expecting individual servings, but what we received were shared plates for two people something that was never explained to us when ordering. While that lack of communication threw us off, I have to say the food itself was amazing. The pasta was absolutely delicious, and the lamb was incredibly tasty. Despite the confusion, I’m happy to give them a second try.

Pio Pio completely turned our night around after a disappointing experience at a restaurant nearby! The food was absolutely top notch. There were multiple times when we stopped to note that we had never tasted anything like the dishes we had at Pio Pio. The drinks were excellent too. The cocktail list was very unique and creative. Lots of interesting clarified cocktails. The drinks themselves were so good we ended up getting multiple rounds. We could tell that the owners and staff cared a lot about what they were doing, and this shined through our every experience there. Pio Pio made me want to move to San Juan permanently. 10/10, A+, 🔥

Walked in and got a table for two without a reservation. Ordered the Con Coco which was strong but delicious. Also ordered the lobsters rolls, eggplant which was surprisingly yummy and the pasta with meatballs. Staff was super friendly. Was a bit on the pricey side but worth it!

This was a really fun tasting experience - creative big swings that all landed with us. The wine paring was pretty good too, call it an A-. We're glad we did it even if it wasn't life changing. And I hope everyone gets to try the "Puerto Rican Moonshine" (Pitorro?) at the end - definitely a special finish! My only very minor critique is that they do the check via POS terminal brought to your table while they wait. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but it just feels a little fast casual for an otherwise higher end dining experience.

This is a upscale place, dishes start around $40 dollars and up. I have to say that the dishes are not worth the price. My appetizer was salty and the food was not that great.... I guess I had high expectations for this place and was let down ;( ... the staff however are very nice. Presentation of the dishes are very good, but not the taste.

The food spectacular! The seafood entree I ordered was cooked exactly as I liked it,and you could not complain about the sides of asparagus and mashed potatoes. The dessert platter was stellar as well, the cheesecake was some of the best I've ever had (not a cheesecake person fyi), Pikayo's food is simply amazing and i have tried almost all of their dishes.

Delicious. The starter bread and onion(/honey?) butter served at the beginning let me know we'd chosen the right spot. My husband ordered the sea bass and it was amazing but my lamb was incredible!!!! The lady next to me ordered duck and I heard her rave ab it being the best duck she had ever eaten. Chocolate soufflé was divine. Terrific meal we will prob come back during our four day trip here! It's elegant and you should come dressed nicely. We sat down at 6 but the atmosphere was really hopping around 8.

This restaurant is very overrated. My husband and I often frequent fine dining establishments, and did so in San Juan. The first thing I noticed was a horribly wrinkled table cloth. We should have left at that point. Then I ordered a signature cocktail which had muddled raspberries. The young man who delivered it announced that since there were no more raspberries in the kitchen, I would have to choose something else for my next drink. Honestly? They had run out of raspberries at 7:00 p.m.? The tasting menu was also below par. 1919 and Marmalade are much better choices.

The tasting menu was fantastic and well worth the price. Our server, Jorge, and his team made the experience second to none in fine dining. The best restaurant in PR and one of the best anywhere. Will definitely return on our next trip. *Dont forget the chocolate soufflé

I'm rather surprised that this restaurant has such high reviews. My dinner there was absolutely disappointing. I'm from Chicago and I know good food when it is served. Apart from the chocolate soufflé which, granted, was amazing nothing about this restaurant warrants more than a single star. As a main dish, I ordered the lamb chops and they were hands down the worst lamb chops I've ever tasted. I couldn't eat them so I left them on my plate. The waiter comes up to me and asks if I would like them doggy bagged, to which I replied, "no thank you. I didn't like them." And he just said okay and took them away. No one came to ask me why I was displeased with my $50+ plate. That is partly why I decided to let the head server know that I returned my plate. They didn't charge me for it, but didn't ask if I would like a different plate either. The appetizers were also tasteless and so I left almost as hungry as I did when I walked in. If you want to spend that much money on a meal, I suggest you go elsewhere. I would pass by Pikayo for the chocolate soufflé. RE- the owner's reply: Being bitter doesn't really make your restaurant any better. I mentioned the price because I would like to get what I'm, in theory, paying for. If I couldn't afford your restaurant, I wouldn't have gone there in the first place. Dropping hints about that is tasteless on your part. Instead of spending time being salty on the computer, expend that same energy on training your servers, fixing your dishes, and choosing good cuts of meat.

There's construction going on but still made the best of it. We are on a cruise and stopped in San Juan and was suggested this restaurant. The garlic shrimp was delicious. Pina Coladas were good very pineapple tasting. We also tried the Puerto Rican Delight. The empamadas looking things were good and the corn sticks were yummy. We were not a fan of the croquettes but that could be just us.

Barra China in Old San Juan is a good place to drink a cold and delicious piña colada at a reasonable price. The food was just ok and nothing to brag about, but tasty! I’ve always liked the tropical 🌴 atmosphere at Barra China, but after years and years of visiting this bar/restaurant I think that some remodeling and updates to the venue will bring in more business. The piña colada recipe continues to be the star ⭐️ of the show and the service friendly as always. See you soon BC! 🇵🇷

Fun to try the first Pina Colada. We ordered food too and I would NOT order the skirt steak. I'm not sure what it was marinated with but we couldn't even take a bite and ended up paying for a full uneaten plate. We also had the seafood Mofungo. It wasn't my favorite but the seafood was decent. We did like the appetizer plate (2 person portion was easily split by 5). The staff were sweet and friendly! Nice little gift shop next door too.

They were under construction, so I imagine the atmosphere will be amazing soon but was just ok for us. Food was good but not exceptional. Pina coladas are as good as expected for the reputation.

We went here to try their famous piña coladas and I give those a 10 out of 10 delicious! We only had the appetizer sampler plate, which was typical fried bar food. But definitely go to at least try the piña colada, reasonably priced and worth it!

If you come here stick to the Pina colada drinks!!! Read more and you’ll find out why. Let’s start with the outside, gorgeous exterior, great photo opportunities. We walked inside and waited for the hostess. We debated whether on grabbing drinks to go vs enjoying drinks at the bar but it was crowded. After waiting a couple of minutes at the to go bar we decided to dine in. Service was still slow at the dining area and the waitress made a comment that she would not be able to greet our table anytime soon since she had other tables. We were there for almost 20minutes or so before we were able to place our order. Eventually she greeted our table and she was fairly pleasant. Of course we ordered Pina coladas which were absolutely delicious. My homegirl is a slow drinker and surprisingly she finished her drink before me! The tostones with pollo and plantanos with mariscos were decent. It lacked flavor but for the price and how hungry we were at that moment we still ate it.

Overrated tourist trap where the Pina Coladas are average, food disgusting and the service is all a scam. Pina- You can find better anywhere else, they're really surviving on that line of being the founding father for Pina Coladas. Food- We ordered coconut calamari and it mediocre. We mentioned we wanted to share the 24 ounce fried fish dish for $27 and was informed by thr service thr only fish she had was 32 ounces with white rice, beans and plantains for $40. The fish was barely 1lbs, hard broccoli and dry plantains. All of a sudden they had no fish that was 24 ounces yet it was on the menu but the 32 ounces was not. Very sketch. Underseasoned and disgusting. They gave me 1 slice of lemon for the fish & I asked the server for more lime and she told me she has to charge, she didn't make the rules. Service- Delayed service, host refused to seat in the courtyard. Sever was pushy for the tip, asked us to leave it on the card and we told her NO, cash. As we were wrapping up eating, she kept asking us for the cash tip. Several forget tip is optional not mandatory. Definitely not a spot I would recommend for eating or drinks. Food is bland and a rip off, in addition, there are better Pina coladas out there. There are similar reviews on this posting and it's 💯 true.

The staff were amazing and the inside of the restaurant is super fun. The food though was lacking for most of our group (mofongo was the winning meal). Everything was lacking flavor and the salads were just some clumps of lettuce with a tomato chunk with no dressing. No one in our group was happy with the food and we just ate because we were hungry but we didn't bring anything back with us. Steaks were thin, chicken had no flavor, the shrimp were sad, and the rice was so-so. The drinks were good and the restaurant is located in a popular location and was packed on our visit. Maybe their food will work for you but we'd recommend looking around because there are lots of restaurants nearby. Good luck 👍

We had dinner here, and had to wait a bit for the table but we were fine with that. We saw that people who came after us were seated before us though. Once we finally got seated, no one brought us any menus, so that was inconvenient. We had to grab them ourselves from the front. We had the baked filet and baked salmon, the filet was better than the salmon. The green plantain and trifongo were pretty good.

This is the second time I came here during two different visits to Puerto Rico. The food is very authentic and very tasty. The service is also really great. It was very consistent from the first time I came here and the last time. Also if you want authentic Puerto Rican food, this is the place to come to. I got the garlic, chicken and yellow rice, my husband got breaded chicken Tostones, and we ordered a side of garlic sauce, all of which were excellent. You have to try their local beer, Magna. All in all a wonderful experience and a must stop through for lunch or dinner

A friend from Puerto Rico recommended this place, he gave some great advice. He said it reminded him of home cooking. I had to get the Red Snapper at his suggestion. It looked so good I grabbed a bite before thinking about a photo, it was delicious. The spices really made it sensational and it was very moist.

When I was a kid my mom made cube steaks regularly. Haven’t had one since visiting this restaurant over 50 years later. It was so tasty. The yellow rice was good and even better with garlic sauce on it. My husband had the garlic chicken that he said was great. Sorry no food pics. We were so hungry we forgot. But definitely authentic PR food. Don’t miss this place.

Authentic atmosphere and definitely a popular spot, so the long wait made sense. But the food simply didn’t live up to the hype. No offense to the cuisine at all, but the dishes we tried tasted more like fried pastries with a hint of meat rather than actual protein. The fried beef and fried fish had almost no substance and the flavors didn’t come through. I genuinely wasn’t sure there was any fish in the fish (pictured). The cubed meat was also underwhelming, just basic meat sitting in oil. We even asked the table next to us, who had the Christmas plate, and they said they were confused by it as well and wouldn’t recommend it. Overall, the experience left me unsure what the hype is about. Not somewhere I’d return.

It was a little loud. But that was due to the lively nature of the venue. The food was delicious. My brother and I had the Jibarito sandwich. The meat was super tender. They put a buttery garlic drizzle on the tostone top. It was amazing!

Visiting the area and this place was across from our hotel and was highly rated so we tried it out. We ordered the Empanadas for an appetizer and the Ropa Vieja for dinner. I had rice and beans and sweet plantains as a side and my husband had rice and beans and Yuca as his side. Everything was delicious! The best part of our dinner was the service we received from our waiter Edgardo! My husband needed bug spray as we were sitting outside and he offered us to move inside but instead was able to find bug spray so we could continue our outside dining experience, true customer service! I highly recommend this restaurant and if you can ask for Edgardo you definitely should!

Angel was a wonderful server! He gave us suggestions on what we could order. The breaded chicken was HUGE and yummy! Seafood Cazuela is fantastic! The tres leches cake was the best cake I’ve ever had! Definitely will come here again!

We had an excellent dining experience at Ropa Vieja. From the moment we arrived, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Our server, Kiddany, provided outstanding service—he offered thoughtful recommendations, ensured our meals were exactly to our liking, and was attentive throughout our visit. The restaurant is tastefully decorated, impeccably clean, and conveniently located near the beach, making it a perfect choice for both visitors and locals. The food was flavorful and well-prepared, and the overall atmosphere created a memorable dining experience. We highly recommend Ropa Vieja and look forward to returning on our next visit.

Yo soy cubana y yo apruebo este restaurante! The food is exceptional, it’s fast and it’s delicious. The entire menu is great. The only thing that should be revisited is adding more items for the kids. My toddler is a vegetarian and a picky eater. That food selection for kids was very small. Also please spray for mosquitos. At 3:20 pm this place has mosquitos 🦟 and tons of bugs. It needs to be sprayed. But other than that, I am Cuban and this is legit. Our waitress is amazing too. Don’t leave without trying the Coquito Cosmolitan

Delicious!!! Beat empanada's on the island! Best red beans I've ever had. The ropa vieja was amazing. Great place with wonderful service and delicious food. What more could you want? 5 stars Kidanny was our server and he was the best!! Highly recommend you give this place a shot!!

We did not have the best service. But to be fair, everyone else around us did I still recommend this restaurant and I believe our waiter will get better with time. Our food was very good. The flavors were excellent and the food did come out hot.

Looked a little shady from the outside but once you go up the stairs the restaurant has the cutest decor throughout! The staff was very attentive and the food was top tier! I had the fried eggplant with plantains and it was fresh and flavorful! My sister had the lasagna, was a little oily due to the cheese but overall it had good taste. My other sister had a pizza, great flavor. My older sister got the breaded chicken breast, it had good flavors but it was a little chewy in some parts. Would come back, enjoyed the experience and food.

Don’t be put off by the dingy staircase entrance — it’s not the most inviting first impression, but once you reach the top, you’ll find a charming little pizza restaurant that’s definitely worth the climb. We had about a 30-minute wait for a table. The staff mentioned they’d call us when our table was ready, but we ended up checking back in after a short walk and were seated upstairs. The service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out in good time. We started with the arugula salad with balsamic dressing — fresh, well-balanced, and delicious. For mains, we ordered the chicken lasagna and a 16-inch pizza. The lasagna was delicious! Super cheesy! The great thing about their pizzas is that you can do half-and-half, so we went with pepperoni on one side and margherita on the other. My husband loved how cheesy the pizza was. I personally thought it could’ve used a touch more salt, but the flavors were still solid. Overall, it’s a great little spot for a casual date night — cozy atmosphere, good service, and tasty food. Don’t judge this one by the entrance!

Definitely top notch pizza! We arrived to find a line of ten people deep outside the door of the restaurant. It took about 30 minutes to get seated once we got our name on the list. Staff were friendly and service was fast. Their prices were average for the area. We got two pizzas and each was packed full of flavor. Overall it was worth the wait as the all the food was delicious!

I heard really great things about this pizza place so I decided to try it out while in Old San Juan. Here’s my thoughts. The pizza itself (while took some time however it was a busy Sunday night so that’s expected) was amazing. One of the best I’ve had so far while living on the island. We got the mushroom pizza and while it’s not my favorite, I loved it. I would absolutely get it again. The service was a little lacking. Our server got us drinks and then stopped back after we were all done and wanted the check. I would have to say it’s a close 5 stars however the service would have checked all the boxes.

The food was really good. I had pepperoni pizza. My friend had the dish with sausage and fried cheese. Our server was polite. She agreed to move us when we asked not to sit by the kitchen.

The wait is a bit long but Josue the nice and positive security guy answered our random questions and kept us entertained for 1 hr. Josue is the best! Food was amazing, service was amazing, of course we forgot to take photo because everything was so good 😋

Delicious food and great service! We had lasagna & vegetable/ margarita pizza! Will definitely come back again.
