Flamenco Beach, located on the island of Culebra just east of Puerto Rico, is a picturesque 1-mile stretch of coastline known for its white sand and clear waters, making it ideal for snorkeling and swimming. This popular beach offers facilities such as bathrooms and showers, as well as kiosks selling refreshments and renting out chairs and umbrellas at affordable prices.
Gorgeous beach. No wander is it one world top ten beach. Turquoise blue, white sand beach with no crowd. Will return next year

I have mixed feelings about this beach. First of all, you have to pay to enter. I would be totally fine with that, BUT they don’t take care of the beach at all! There’s a ton of sargassum (never seen so much in my life), and they simply don’t care. It’s funny that they hired a lifeguard, but he only watches over a small part of the beach - and that part of the beach happens to be the worst, with so much sargassum that you couldn’t possibly swim there, so he’s basically redundant. If you wanna enjoy your time here, go all the way to the right (opposite way of where the tank is); that’s where the beach is cleanest and actually looks like the pictures.

Took the ferry to culebra then took a utv to flamenco . It’s $5.25 for parking , $2 each person to enter. Beautiful beach ! We arrived they had 2 red flags the water waves were crazy but after a while green flag . The waves were nice . Def would love to return

Known as one of the most beatiful beaches in the world. This place is beatiful and spectacular. Clean and having good facilities.
Luis R — Google review
Flamenco Beach, just off the Coast of Puerto Rico, on the island of Culebra, is the most stunning beach in the Caribbean. We were able to capture some amazing videos and photos for our show but had a great time relaxing and enjoying the island and restaurants afterward. We took the ferry from Cieba which costs about $4.50 per person round trip. But get to the ferry at least 2 hours before the departure time to try to get tickets because they are in high demand. You can buy from the limited pool of tickets online if you catch them early enough. The hills that surround it give the beach a magical isolation from civilization that is unmatched by the hotel lined beaches in San Juan. The beach made us feel like we were in a tropical paradise. The water was clear, turquoise, and even more beautiful than the photos we looked up on Google. We rented a golf cart for driving around the island, which made it easier for us to park. And it avoided the Taxi fares, which ran about 20 dollars to get to the beach from the ferry station. But there is a parking lot fee of 5 dollars (US) and a 2 dollar per person charge to access the beach. You can pay cash or by credit card. There are multiple food options right at the beach entrance. They also have public bathrooms and a place to shower off the sand. This is a wonderful place to go for a romantic or family day. And everyone we met was friendly and engaging and having and pleasant. If you have a bucket list, Flamenco Beach should be high on the list. It is that beautiful!
ADSN T — Google review
By far, the best beach in Puerto Rico. Simply magical. Bright crystal clear turquoise waters, white sand, many food vendors, bathrooms, showers, beach chair and umbrella rentals. Parking is about $15 for the entire day (less if you are there for less time), and they charge a $2 cover per person for beach access and access to all of their facilities. We visited a few beaches and left this beach for last because it was the only one on the island with showers. I wish we would have just skipped all the other beaches and have spent the entire day at Flamenco.
Josean R — Google review
Flamenco Beach is my favorite beach on the east side of PR. Have to take the ferry in Ceiba super early to be able to enjoy a great day in Culebra. Hadn't been there in a minute so I was surprised to see that now you have to pay for parking and for beach access also. Parking is $5 dollars and some change for the entire day. Beach access is $2 per person. Went in July for my bday. The beach had alot of a type of algae, sargasso, but it's a seasonal thing.
Nestor T — Google review
Most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to! The water was crystal clear for as far as you could swim. The sand was white and the crescent shape with the palm trees and mountains made it extra beautiful. Love the tank to go see too. Highly recommend!

Tamarindo Beach is a popular destination in Culebra, Puerto Rico, offering a range of activities for visitors. The beach is known for its clear waters and abundant marine life, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. Nearby attractions include Cayo Lobo and Zoni Beach, both offering unique experiences such as hiking and exploring secluded shores. Tamarindo Beach also provides easy access to vibrant reef ecosystems, perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
This is the place where my soul finds peace. There are other beautiful beaches but Tamerindo is where I learned to snorkel and it gave me a whole incredible world just beneath the water. It feels like a long and faithful friend.
Dawn M — Google review
You can snorkel in this beach. Just have to watch out for sea urchins as you're entering the water. We did not see any turtles on our visit but was advised that if you want to see turtles you should go in the morning before 10:00 a.m. because they feed during that time and go dormant the rest of the time. We snorkeled and saw a couple of rays and even an eagle ray. There's a lot of secrets here and a water gets pretty deep
Thu-Nga M — Google review
The snorkeling is fantastic! There's a coral reef in 6' of water that's teeming with abundant & diverse tropical life. We swam with squid, dozens of species of fish, chickens😂, and much more... Including a giant iguana in the tree overhead.
Nota I — Google review
Amazing place to see turtles. From the landing we swam left at about a 45 degree and found turtles in about 20' of water in the sea grass. Seen some massive barracuda out there and no sharks. You do get pretty far out but have to be careful for the currents. It is a very long swim so if your a beginner take floats or a life jacket. You should have fins on
Jerry P — Google review
Fantastic place to watch sunset. Neat to see many fish while snorkeling. Convenient parking area.
Sandra B — Google review
The best place to go snorkeling to see fish reefs and turtles. The water is warm and not deep. It's beautiful.

Incredible snorkeling just steps from the shore—spotted manta rays, sea turtles, and a variety of fish species. The beach is clean, peaceful, and never overcrowded. Protected marine reserve

Outdoor Activities
Playa Carlos Rosario is a remote and rugged white sand beach located on the northwest coast of Culebra. Accessible via a 20-minute hike through the Reserva Natural de Culebra, it offers prime snorkeling opportunities with clouds of reef fish often seen in the shallows. The beach is known for its barrier reef that encloses its waters, providing excellent snorkeling on either side. It's recommended to be cautious of water taxis and local powerboats cruising through the boat channel.
Great snorkeling. The trail to get there is in the Flamenco beach parking lot. The path is overgrown some but still an easy hike (only took us about 20 minutes one way), recommend tennis shoes or sturdy sandals. Don’t stop at the first beach, take a right at the fork to get to Carlos Rosario beach. You’ll see a sign that says Carlos Rosario further along the beach. Very secluded and beautiful.
Sarah B — Google review
Pretty nice beach, but rocky in places. The real draw here is the snorkeling, but when we got there there were waves breaking on the reef, making it impossible to snorkel. It's not a knock on the beach, just be aware you may not be able to snorkel when you get there. It is the least protected reef on the west side of Culebra when there is a north swell. You park at the Flamenco Beach parking lot and pay about $5 per person. Park in the farthest back parking spaces to get a shady spot, and be closer to the trail. The hike takes about 20-25 minutes at a brisk pace, and is fairly steep in places. We went at 8 am, so it was still fairly cool, and we only saw 1 other couple on the trail back.
Dane B — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. We were able to explore without interrupting the reef. The snorkeling and diving was amazing. We saw the reef and fish 40 feet under. Taking a tour made the experience even greater. #East Island excursion~ you rock
Kamellia N — Google review
Super overgrown trail, we were wading through tall grass and some thorns most of the way. Covered in green bits by the end. The beach is worse than Flamenco. All that said, best snorkeling areas we found on the island.
Corey T — Google review
3.5 stars. It may be beautiful if you could see a sunset. However, it's hard to go to this beach. You need to walk from Framenco beach in 20-30min. There is no car access beach.
Yuichi C — Google review
The path to this beach is accessible from Flamenco Beach parking area. Duck under the chained gate and follow the narrow truck rut up and over, across this part of the island. The path has been cleared of any unexploded ordinates but the surrounding area may not have been so keep to the path. Bring only what you need and wear shoes you can move in (I'd avoid flip flops). After a hot 20 minute hike on a narrow rut with shrubbery scratching you along the way you are rewarded with a small, rocky beach area with great snorkeling. The path dead ends at Carlos Rosario. If you take any of the little paths off to the left you will encounter Tamarindo Grande ( not to be confused with Tamarindo). You can also take a snorkel boat tour here if you prefer not to schlep. For snorkelers, if you go all the way to the right, there is a wall/shelf with some big fish hiding under ledges and ok visibility. The main attraction is well before that though. Walk to the right, to where the rocky area meets the sand. Then swim out straight towards the white buoy. Unimpressive coral with terrible visibility will be on your left. Once you get far enough out, turn left and you will deeper water with soft coral and lots of fish just hanging out (I suspect the tour boats feed them). We also saw jellyfish and two rays - one of which was a gorgeous, big spotted eagleray.
Corrie D — Google review
Great spot to escape crowds of Flamenco or if winds and waves are too much on Flamenco. I wouldn’t do for snorkeling unless maybe you are in a boat as I swam all over the bay from the beach (including the Wall) and not impressive as most of coral is bleached. But great off the beaten path beach. We got there at 8am and had the beach to ourselves for over 3.5 hours
Evan G — Google review
The trail starts at the Flamenco Beach entry booth. Go on the outside of the parking lot fence until you see a tsunami zone sign and a gate with a chain. Go thru the gate and follow the single file walking gpath for 25 mins. Not too steep, but your bare legs will get brushed by several plants. The reward?: rays, turtles, fish and corals. Fabulous. The reef is only 20ft to 50ft off shore. No need to go further out - except to look for turtles and rays in the sea grass. Look at other reviews to see where to enter the reef.

OMG Tortuguita Island is so beautiful. Fell in love with the clear water. Different activities to do like snorkeling, paddle boarding, hiking to the old light house or just sit and relax. Don't get amazed if you see some savage goats around. If you go to Culebra don't forget to book a trip to Culebrita and have an amazing day.
Josuania P — Google review
Beautiful beach for snorkeling and having friendly turtles that can swim with you but never touch it highly recommended
Lysander S — Google review
I spent a week at this beautiful jewel in the middle of the sea off the main Island of CULERBRA. The surf and cliffs are amazing, the reef that we anchored at was so BLUE ... The fish and the show down below was like the introduction to a Disney musical with clownfish, parrot yellow striped and neon fish swimming between beautiful waving fan Coral of purple and black... The beaches are pristine the sand is white soft and clean.... There is turtle grass to the far right corner of the bay where sea turtles can be seen swimming on the surface and Sea Ray's down below. The abandoned old light house is now being worked on, they are rehabilitating it slowly, a new road leads from the beach at the reef to the top of the hill. Most of the goats are gone but we a woke to the cries of a few left behind.... Otherwise it was just us or another boat anchored in the reef.

Spent Easter Sunday at this secluded Anchorage .. It's very quiet scenic with a trail over to a larger beach on the other side.... There is quite a bit of sea weed on the beach Adorable little goats .. Water was great - two reefs to swim around.

Melones Beach is a rectangular area located between Carlos Rosario Beach and Melones Beach on Culebra, surrounded by the tips of Cayo Luis Pena. This marine reserve area is teeming with diverse sea life, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling. The beach offers easy access to the water for snorkeling behind the picnic table, with stunning rock formations and coral reefs to explore.
A great place to snorkel. This is the other location on the snorkel tour besides Tamarindo beach. Lots is sea urchins in the entrance and quite rocky. Careful as you enter. This place has no turtles but plenty of fishes and corals. If you are snorkeling by yourself, make sure to check weather beforehand. Windy and rainy days can make the water quite rough and turbid, hindering good views. There is a small parking area and is easily accessible by golf carts. Not much space to just chill on the beach, though.
Maitri H — Google review
Beautiful beach. Our guide showed us 6 or 7 green turtles and we watched them feed on sea grass. Lots of moon jellyfish and other reef fish.
Bonny M — Google review
Did snorkeling here, pretty cool clear water.
Tino L — Google review
Beautiful and pristine shore entry for snorkeling that was as good as taking an excursion! My only complaint is there were sea urchins everywhere and luckily someone warned us before we stepped on one when we went to snorkel. We rented a golf cart for the day and this was the spot we kept coming back to! When you go out, only go shin deep and then float over the rock beds where the urchins are lurking... Go to the right about 100 yards to where you see rocks sticking out of the water and that's where the amazing reef and it's aquatic life awaits! Absolutely beautiful!
Johnathan V — Google review
This was a beautiful beach we caught the last two hours of daylight to snorkel here. Beautiful ocean life found near the rocks. If you’re a good swimmer you can swim out there and skip the rocky trek, otherwise bring some good shoes. It was better snorkeling than Playa Flamenco, gorgeous!
Jenna D — Google review

Kevin A — Google review
When you enter the water, it's shallow, rocky and full of sea urchins. But push through and head to the right for some of the better snorkeling on Culebra. There is space for parking a few steps from the water. The "beach" is rocky coral.

Zoni Beach is a secluded and stunning location on the northeastern shore of Culebra, Puerto Rico. It features pristine white sands and crystal clear waters, making it an idyllic retreat for those seeking peace and tranquility. Unlike the popular Flamenco Beach, Zoni is less frequented by visitors, offering a more serene experience. While the beach lacks amenities, its beauty and seclusion make it worth a visit.
This was my first time sailing to Culebra Island for a holiday, Zoni Beach is the best beach on this island, the water is crystal clear and there are not many people.
ALEX S — Google review
The water temperature is amazing! The water is really enjoyable, but yes, seaweeds is all over the beach “nature at work”. We had a great time and enjoyed very much this spot, you can go out in the water and have the greatest time, extremely clear water with fine sand. You won’t regret.
Luiz C — Google review
This beach is the hidden treasure on the island. It's practically empty, with a very large beach in either direction to lounge on. In my opinion, the water was clearer than Flamenco. The waves were not as strong, at least on the day I visited. If you go approximately 50 yards to the left from entrance after parking, you'll find the best area to go out with no rocks to maneuver around and you can walk out pretty far. I regret not bringing snorkel equipment as this is the ideal place to go. The only drawback was the sand was mixed with some black stone, which caused it to get VERY hot and you couldn't stand barefoot in one area long, so either get in a shady spot, on a towel, or stay in the water! We went back the next morning for sunrise as it faces to the east. Highly recommend!
Wes K — Google review
Very beautiful beach with great views of the smaller adjacent islands. It was a little bit too wavy for my liking compared to the other beaches that day and it also had many reefs with sea urchins on them so we had to be a bit careful. Definitely wear water shoes.
Josean R — Google review
No showers here , we were there during the sunset, we didn’t swim, the water was not calm . But it was very romantic
Natalia R — Google review
Beautiful beach, was visiting for first time. Swam in June water was super warm and looked like a post card. The beach is very calm and chill and it’s free. Bring your cooler with drinks and snacks and you will be all set. There are no tourist amenities around, just a beautiful local beach. Enjoy the peace and wonder of this beach.
Paulina G — Google review
Really beautiful and isolated beach, without many tourists. Please keep in mind that the beach is not organized and there are no bathrooms or any places close to have food/drinks. There are also lots of sharp rocks, but there are clear spots to swim.
Michalis F — Google review
Loved the beach, you can walk and see so many amazing views the beach is perfect for snorkeling and the current is no so strong. White samds and clear water. Less crowded than Flamenco and it's free to get in. Perfect for meditation or just spend the day with some friends or family, great for kids it has no amenities, so you should pack some snacks  and beverages with you if you’re planning to spend a whole day there.

Playa Tamarindo Grande Beach, also known as Tamarindo II, is a secluded paradise that can be reached by a 20-minute walk from Flamenco beach trail. It offers a unique rocky coastline and breathtaking scenery, making it a must-visit in Culebra. The beach is perfect for snorkeling with its clear waters and beautiful colors. It's also known for being a great place to spot sea turtles and has a cute little coral reef.
This was our favorite snorkeling beach on the island. There aren't many easy ways into the water, but the coral was amazingly healthy and close to the surface.

When we didn’t find our way to Carlos Rosario we ended up here. Lots of coral and there was no one there. We were able to tan places that usually don’t get sun. About a two mile hike through thorns and an overgrown trail. Definitely bring water and good shoes.

Great place to snorkel for all. The water is pretty calm and it is easy to stay off the coral. Highly recommend for snorkeling. Look out for the sea turtles in the grass.

Asome experience. The crew on the Tobias was amazing taking us to the playa tamarindo to go snorkeling, feeding us and giving us all you can drink piña colada for only $49.99. I would have easily paid $100.00 for a trip like this. The water was cristal clear and the weather was amazing on a March sunny day.

What a great beach, pretty quiet too. The coral here is pretty well protected, but is sort of bunched together, rather than spread out. I’d definitely recommend this beach for snorkeling, regular beach swimming might be difficult.

Playa Brava is a secluded tropical beach that offers the perfect setting for a tranquil getaway. Accessible by hiking from Flamenco Beach, this remote crescent-shaped beach is named "Brava," which means brave in Spanish. Despite some challenges such as rough surf and seaweed washed up along the shore, reaching Playa Brava involves a 25 to 30-minute hike from the parking area at the end of an unmaintained road.
This was probably the most beautiful beach on Culebra. It was a 30-40 minute walk. The walk is easy down and difficult up. Looks like you could drive down in a jeep but no parking. Not sure if you are alowed to drive down, didn't see any signs saying you couldn't. I would not recommend swimming. We had the entire beach to ourselves.
Dan M — Google review
The beach is beautiful. The hike in is about 1 mile from the road. Definitely want to make sure you have a pair of hike boots or shoes. Found plenty of reptiles and crabs along the way. Watch where you step as you can find many small ant colonies that will bite.
Charles D — Google review
Gorgeous, secluded beach if you can look past all the Atlantic trash and ridiculous amounts of seaweed washed up along the beach. Once you get to the "parking area" at the end of the unmaintained road, it's a hike on foot for 25 to 30 minutes one way. Unfortunately the hike out is worse than the hike in, but we found the beach to be worth it. Wear decent walking shoes or sandals with straps and don't go if you aren't willing to get a little exercise. It's been noted several places that this isn't a good beach for swimming and can be dangerous. That's going to be a personal decision based on your ability and the surf conditions. The surf wasn't too crazy on the day I visited and I'm a very strong ocean swimmer, so I did some swimming in the surf here, but I always remained very vigilant for rip currents and stayed in close enough that I could always touch. Swim at your own risk.

This is a really beautiful beach, you have to walk 30 minutes to see this beautiful beach, crystal Walters, very clean, you can spend all day right there and relax

Awesome beach! You have to walk around 25 min to from parking spot to the beach. Totally worthy! We have the beach for ourselves. Waves are stronger than other beaches in Culebra but perfect to swim! Love it !

Nature & Parks
Playa Resaca, located in Culebra, is a secluded beach that offers solitude and adventure for those willing to embark on a 30-minute hike through the Resaca Rocky Forest. The journey involves navigating boulders, crossing mangroves, and traversing uneven terrains. Once there, visitors can enjoy the beautiful and peaceful beach with larger waves than other spots on the island. The hike is described as manageable but requires caution when passing through the boulder forest.
This beach is absolutely incredible. No words can do it justice. Getting to it is an adventures dream and not for the faint at heart. The only way you can get to this beach is by truck/jeep and then a sketchy hike down. Once you're at the top you have a 20 minute ascent down the steep hillside on foot. The trail down is really just a gully washer. You're climbing over large rocks and boulders. You must wear good shoes and be prepared for physically demanding ascent and climb. As of December of 2021 the trail is marked sporadically with pink ties as trail markers. At one point close to the bottom you are in a mangrove forest. It's pretty unsettling because there's no point of reference to get you towards the beach or back up the hill. You're just following ad-hoc markers that other hikers have left along the way. I was on the beach for 3 hours and never saw another person. DO NOT wait until it's close to sunset to leave the beach. You need plenty of daylight to find your way back through those mangroves. This beach has a great surf break. I saw really good ten foot swells. I just don't know how you would get a surfboard down there. A body board is more realistic possibility.

A very beautiful and peaceful beach!! Nobody there when we went, and what a beautiful day it was. Great place for a swim and playing in the waves. Waves were much bigger than anywhere else on the island, although still relatively small, it was a blast. Hike was not so bad really. About 30 mins one way all downhill to the beach. Be careful hiking through the boulder forest and don't step on any hermit crabs!! We saw only one small snake. We got to the parking spot perfectly fine in our golf cart too, btw. I would not say you need a Jeep.
Melanie C — Google review
Awesome Trailhead and very difficult to pinpoint without pictures. The drive up was absolutely beautiful and actually quite difficult, would not attempt without a real truck or jeep. There was a truck camping there when we arrived, and after locating the entrance to the trail, we opted out as it was extremely overgrown and Packed With Spiders! lol Make sure you bring real hiking gear and a Big Stick!!

Difficult to get to and no amenities. Just pure beach with nobody on it. Bring everything you need to enjoy a peaceful day.

Amazing hike. Really cool way to spend the afternoon. Definitely need good shoes (we were wearing flip flops so it was extra challenging). Bring WATER! Also we got robbed… our golf cart parked on top of the hill was ransacked by surfers who we saw coming up when we were going down the hill. No big deal - but a good reminder that this is a poor island and people will do anything to make a $$$ Overall - must do activity if you are into hiking and want to have more active time on the island. 100% we’ll worth the effort. The beach is both remote and majestic. Twice there for six plus hours alone. Ample parking at the top of road. Trail starts just left of the nesting beach sign. Trail is obvious going down, moderately difficult but manageable. When you get to the bottom follow the debris in the trees. Straight then a hard left then a right to the beach opening. Be brave, you will never regret it.
Joey B — Google review
beautiful beach, but very dirty, we walked along the shore over rocks and back directly through the bushes

Definitely a journey that's worth it: had the beach to ourselves. Big waves with a strong seaward undercurrent. Between the hike down and the strong ocean - I wouldn't recommend bringing children here.

Luis Pena Beach is a stunning and unspoiled destination located on Cayo Luis Pena, accessible only by boat. As the first marine reserve in the commonwealth, it boasts clear waters and healthy coral reefs teeming with diverse marine life, making it a popular spot for snorkeling and diving. While there are no amenities on the small island, visitors can enjoy activities such as swimming, long beach walks, and simply unwinding in this pristine natural setting.
Amazing beach. Hands down one of the best I’ve ever visited. A little tricky to get too if you don’t have your own boat but worth every moment. Please keep this place clean for others.

Amazing snorkeling right off the beach. I was just in Hawaii and this had a better and more colorful reef then I found anywhere in Honolulu or the North Shore. The beach was absolutely amazing even if it’s a little small. Highly recommended.

From USFWS Staff: Thank you for sharing your thoughts! We understand there might be some confusion about the accessibility and purpose of Luis Peña within the Culebra National Wildlife Refuge. To clarify, Luis Peña is one of the two islands in the refuge open to the public for recreational activities. It offers excellent opportunities for snorkeling, swimming, and enjoying Culebra’s natural beauty. As part of the refuge, Luis Peña plays a vital role in protecting critical habitats for marine life and migratory birds. We encourage visitors to enjoy the area responsibly and help us preserve its ecological integrity for future generations. While there are no traditional hiking trails on Luis Peña, the island offers incredible snorkeling spots where you can observe vibrant coral reefs and marine biodiversity. We’re continuously exploring ways to enhance visitor experiences while ensuring conservation remains a top priority. Thank you for helping us improve how we communicate the unique opportunities Luis Peña offers. We hope you enjoy your time in this beautiful refuge!

You have to take a boat to get out here but it's worth it for the best snorkeling in Culebra. Visibility is what sets this place apart. Lots of fish, great depth, and sandy bottoms. We saw great barracuda and a spotted eagle ray as the stand outs.

OMG! Can anyone say Crystal Clear Water...private island. We chartered a private boat. The ride is approx 2hrs, but we had a party on the boat. This isn’t for people who get sea sick (water is choppy). Once you get to the island there are several private boats docked and you literally have a party on the beach. I experienced my 1st time snorkeling which was amazing!

Playa Zoni is often overshadowed by the popular Flamenco Beach, but it's equally stunning and offers a peaceful alternative. With its long stretch of white sand and clear waters, Playa Zoni provides breathtaking views of Culebra's archipelago and distant islands like St. Thomas and Tortola.
Beautiful Beach with amazing view to Cayo Botella and Culebrita

This is NOT Zoni beach, but it is still a lovely, isolated spot. If you are trying to get to Zoni beach follow the sign posted (see pics below). Not great for swimming because of the sea grass and rock right off the beach, but nice for relaxing with no one else around. You can see Culebrita and the US Virgin Islands from here. Be AWARE the last part of the road that descends to the beach is terrible. It was treacherous even with a four wheel drive truck. You have been warned!

It is a sanctuary for native wildlife, fish, plants, and various species of migratory birds. The refuge is particularly renowned as a nesting site for diverse seabirds and endangered sea turtles.
The ride here was a bumpy one but totally worth our time. The beach is beautiful and we got there before other boats so we really did have the beach to ourselves. There is a shallow coral reef you can snorkel. There is also an old abandoned army tank left on the far side of the beach you can go explore.

THE Culebra Park which is most of Island is just beautiful, with beaches, views, even swamp lands. CULERBRA has put up signs drawing attention to the Sea Turtles most are just in Spanish/ there are a few sentences in English. We rented a gold cart and see the entire day driving around the island from land as we have been sailing from USA to Panama & on often only seeing what we can by boat, dinghy or walking.

Culebra is amazing, purchased a tour on a boat, word of caution...ride is extremely bumpy and made me sea sick, take a life jacket since the boat docks away from actual beach and you'll have to swim to it. Other than that, the swim is worth it, good snorkeling available right off the beach, water is warm, perfect for swimming, clean and not crowded.

Playa Sardinas is an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility and snorkeling opportunities. With its unspoiled waters and natural charm, visitors can enjoy a combination of serenity and stunning scenery. Although the beach may have limited sand, it stretches in an attractive curved shape, providing ample space to relax. For a thrilling snorkeling experience directly from the shore, one can explore the adjacent Melones Beach, renowned for its rocky terrain and abundance of broken coral.
The beaches here are lovely as is the Snorkeling. We sailed over from the and their were only to mooring balls here, one had a broken leader we finally landed one on Malone's. The Fan Coral is amazing here it is purple & black and grey with purple the coral is in good shape on this side of the are. Over behind THE PROTECTOR of the large Stickman at the entrance of the Harbor you can gain access to other the beach & water (here it has alot of.... Washed up coral. Further you will find a small bay with a village of campers/ tent City... The bay here is deep and protected there were four mooring balls for daily use. Lastly we drove out to Electric Beach which is near the power lines one road is private, the other a bit intimidating on a golf cart... This beach was all coral and rock. The water was pretty rough at this point and I am sure the beaches closer to town would be a much better experience personally.

Very accessible beach 5 min ride from the ferry. Walk (1min) on Punta Melones (you can see this from the ferry dock) to the other side of the pennisula I think this is Playa Melones. Playa Punta Soldado is a peaceful and secluded beach located on Culebra Island, offering a serene alternative to the more crowded Flamenco Beach. The golden sand and clear waters of this semi-protected bay make it an ideal spot for relaxation and snorkeling. However, visitors should be cautious of the rocky shore and currents when venturing further into the water. Despite limited parking, many travelers find their way to this hidden gem to enjoy its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful surroundings.
This beach is at the end of a steep, winding, rutted dirt road. There are many trees near the shoreline to provide shady spots to hang out. It is quite rocky to walk into the water but there is plenty to see once in the water. When we were there, the water was rather calm, perfect for snorkling. Not a lot of exotic corals but lots of different kinds of fish. Highly Recommended!
Stanley D — Google review
Nice secluded beach with little to no people. Off the beaten track and a good portion of steep narrow dirt road (Do not go here after heavy rainfall or you'll definitely get stuck!) Clear calm water. Many dead corals unfortunately. Rocky shore makes difficult exit if dragged by current. Becareful with the currents when going out further and take note of the drift.

Flamenco Beach in Culebra, Puerto Rico is a popular destination known for its stunning beauty and clear waters. What sets it apart are the U.S. Navy tanks from before World War II that can still be found on the beach. Visitors often take photos with these painted tanks, which have constantly changing designs. The beach offers long stretches of shallow water and is a great spot for swimming and sunbathing.
Speechless. No need to describe. It's the best beach I've ever been. Come here on a weekday, less crowded and beautiful. Crystal clear water with less tides. Snorkeling is also worth it. Just Amazing.

I've been here at this beach 12 times now. This is an amazing experience that if you ever get to go to Culebra PR you must see this site. It's amazing how many times I have been here and every time I take a photo with this tank it constantly is changing the design on it I love this island. I hope to move here by next year. The people are kind and always helpful. They appreciate tourists. It's safe and barley any accident on this island, considering you can barely make it past 35 miles an hour before you hit a turn or an iguana 😅 It's always such a great time, great friends, and great music. This beach is on the 10 most visited and best beaches in the world! Look it up! It also changes on design everytime I have gone and seen it, Scroll through the photos to see how it changes. Also there used to be another one up higher above it but I think they took it back because it was still usable for the military. 💯

GDSTUFF78 — Google review
This was so cool to see. I want to look up the history and read the story of how these two tanks got here.
Rebecca C — Google review
The painted tank at Flamenco Beach is one of the most unique and iconic sights in Puerto Rico. Once part of the U.S. Navy’s presence on the island, this old military tank has been transformed into a colorful piece of art, covered in vibrant graffiti and paintings that change over time. It’s a striking contrast to the soft white sand and turquoise water of Flamenco Beach, and it gives the area a special character that blends history, culture, and creativity. Visitors love stopping by to take photos, and it has become a must-see landmark for anyone visiting the beach. The tank reminds you of Culebra’s history while showing how the island has reclaimed its past in a positive and artistic way. It’s more than just an abandoned relic — it’s now part of the story that makes Flamenco Beach one of the most unique and memorable beaches in the world.

We just returned for another week with Heather and Trevor in September because they are simply the best. Trevor is a master Dive Master and simply the best instructor. They are a great team, thorough, professional, and safe! The last two dives were amazing (Chutes and Ladders site!). I recommend this shop to anyone who dives or wants to learn. ** update after our 4th time diving with Trevor, Heather and team over the past 2’ish years so that tells you a lot about their business! Great dive sites, marine habitat knowledge, top notch equipment and care of divers regardless of skill level. We’re confident you won’t find a better dive experience. After dive stat summary and photos always a great bonus. 🙏🙏

We had an amazing morning snorkel session with Norman! I could have stayed in the water the whole day just discovering the beautiful underwater world around Culebra. We saw a colorful assortment of fish, rocks, coral and even a hawksbill sea turtle! One of our favorite activities while visiting the island.
Kristin S — Google review
This was hands down one of my favorite experiences on the island. My husband and I found Norman through Air Bnb and we booked our experience through there. Norman is one of the nicest, most helpful people we have met on the island. As tourists, we ended up running out of gas before we started our paddle excursion, lo and behold the only gas station on the island closed at noon that day. Norman was incredibly helpful and ended up getting us gas from his own personal supply. He literally handled everything for us that night. He was patient on the paddle board, he gave great instructions and he truly truly loves the land and what he does. Spend 5 minutes with the man and you know you are with someone who loves and appreciates what they do. A member in our party fell into the water and while that could've have caused panic for some he made it a comfortable and laughable situation that honestly even I felt ok to fall into the ocean in the middle of the night ! He took pictures of the experience for us too and made sure we all had them before we left. May God continue to bless this man and his family. People like him make Culebra what it is. If that isn't enough, paddle boarding in the channel while the sun is setting is something you won't soon forget, we passed restaurants and it felt like something out of a movie. We saw sting rays and tarpon fish, not to mention all the little fishes that kept jumping onto our boards. Thanks Norman!

We had a fantastic day with Khalif. He is welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was clear that his top priority was making sure that we had a really great day. Honeymoon Beach on Luis Peña couldn't have been any more beautiful. And he even picked us up at the dock near our apartment rental! No hesitation in recommending Kahlif for an amazing day on the waters and cayos around Culebra.

We visited Culebrita with Kahlif and it was incredible! He was able to take us over to the island last minute which was exactly what we needed. Playa Flamenco was rough and on this island the water was calm and beautiful. He was so accommodating, helped us every step of the way and gave us great recommendations for our night out in Culebra. This tour alone makes us want to return to the area. It’s a must do when visiting the island!

Kahlif is a great captain and host! His maritime knowledge and expertise in the local area are great! But what set him apart it’s his humility, which made the trip very enjoyable. I would recommend him, and his services are world class!

Wow,Wow,Wow! There are not enough stars for Kahlif!! Kahlif private boat tour was amazing!! We were visiting on Vieques and really wanted to get over and experience Culebra as well. Kahlif was quick to respond. He told us our options and recommendations. We followed his suggestions.. he is native to Culebra. We decided to visit Culebrita. A very secluded picture perfect area. Kahlif picked us up in Vieques and we took about an hour boat ride to Culebrita. We saw natural tide pools big enough to soak in, climbed to an old light house and went snorkeling which was fantastic! Kahlif showed us where to snorkel for the best odds of seeing cool things. We saw sea turtles, Sting ray, nurse sharks and a variety of fish both big and small. Kahlif was extremely attentive and polite. Our trip included non alcoholic beverages, snacks and a delightful fruit plate. Kahlif also had all the snorkeling gear and chairs to sit on the beach with umbrella if we wanted. After one of the most memorable days with my family, we were dropped back off in Vieques. Do not hesitate give Kahlif a call. You will not regret it!! Thank you again Kahlif!!

We had an amazing time on our trip to Culebrita with Kahlif. He is a wonderful captain and he went the extra mile on our tour with fresh fruit, drinks and lunch and even helped my younger twins swim out to the reef so they didn’t get too tired. We saw so much wildlife and even a few tortugas. Do not hesitate booking with Kahlif, you won’t regret it! Thanks for the wonderful day, Kahlif, see you again soon!

Snorkeling in Culebra is a must-do activity, and Playa Tamarindo is the top spot for underwater exploration. While the beach may not be ideal for lounging due to its coarse sand and rocky waters, these conditions actually make it perfect for spotting marine life with excellent visibility. Visitors rave about Mr. Ranty's professional and responsible snorkeling service, praising his expertise in taking them to amazing spots where they encountered sharks, turtles, and even whales.
Captain Randy was excellent! Very responsive to calls/texts while arranging the trip. We had a half day trip and he was quite flexible to extend it at our request. He was very professional and offered us all sorts of accommodations. He took us to places where we saw stingrays, turtles, other sea creatures. Was definitely the best day of our vacation. Thank you!!!

Ranty you're quite the captain, and your personal service was the highlight of our trip. You need to charge more money. We will be back again someday. If anyone is fortunate enough to get a trip with Ranty, then lucky you. He will custom make a snorkeling/hiking/shark-petting trip just for you. And he can pilot to places you didn't think you could go. It will be your best day
