The 25 best spots for macadamia nut pancakes in Kauai

We arrived at about 7:15 AM and there was not a line at all. Monday morning, of course and parking was not a problem. My son and I came here off of a suggestion from a tour guide named Noah and thought that everything was pretty good. I’ve had the Loco Moko on different islands before and it was pretty good. The serving size here compared to the price was excellent. My son got the eggs Benedict. Neither of us could finish more than half of what we ordered.

I am genuinely surprised by the average high rating that this restaurant has. While the staff was friendly and the food came out quickly, I would not say it was worth the wait. It is seemingly one of the only breakfast-y restaurants in Kapaa, and it offers a pretty basic greasy spoon menu with an island twist! I ordered the Avocado, Egg and Cheese breakfast sandwich and I convinced my husband to order the Traditional Loco Moco from the Kountry Favorites section of the menu. I also ordered a side of rice just for something a little extra to eat with my sandwich. The biggest takeaway I can say for what we had is that flavor and seasoning was missing entirely across the board. You can see it in the photo of my breakfast sandwich, but there was no seasoning to be found - not even pepper. It was quite bland and really could have been elevated by the addition of a simple sauce. I was also disappointed for my husband because I hyped up how popular of a dish the Loco Moco is and he ended up experiencing the same lack of flavor. I am very understanding that food on the island will usually be more expensive, but I do find the prices hard to justify for how simple and underwhelming the meal was. Aside from the meal, I do have some comments regarding the dining area. The tables felt packed pretty closely to one another - we had five of us dining in our group and they threw a chair at the end of a four top table for us. The space in the walkway really did not allow comfortably for that. Additionally, there was one working bathroom in the entire restaurant as the men's restroom was closed. This clogged up the space in the dining area as well as there were many people waiting for the entirety of the time we spent here. I'm hoping that this experience really was a one-off atypical dining experience that one might have at Kountry Kitchen. From looking at some of the other reviews on here, I'm thinking that maybe the downfall of the meal can be summed up to bad ordering as some other menu items look much better than what we received. I will look forward to the opportunity to try something else here one day!

Delicious, fresh food. Excellent service! We managed to fit a wheelchair through the narrow aisles. The thermosphere was relaxed and happy, though a bit loud. I was glad I had my Loop earplugs with me. Seating was efficient, and I recommend adding your party to the wait-list via Yelp first. The process worked smoothly! The price was very reasonable, and it was nice to have the option of espresso drinks, too.

Had breakfast here and it was awesome! I got the loco moco with fried rice and my wife had the Polynesian omelette—both were super tasty. Huge portions, great flavor, and we left stuffed and happy. The service was also fantastic—super friendly and fast. Definitely a spot we’ll be coming back to!

Kountry Kitchen is such a great restaurant! I had scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, and toast all of it was delicious and cooked perfectly. The bacon was nice and crispy, just the way I like it. I plan to eat here again before I leave the island. ❤️ Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Kapaʻa!

We were told that this is one of the best restaurants in the area, so we decided to try. Their portion is big enough, it did cover our breakfast and lunch! It was so great and we went back there on the way to the airport, and grabbed more food😋 We put ourself in waiting list from Yelp (highly recommended!) on the way, and it worked perfectly! When we got there we only waited 5 minutes.

Our favorite breakfast spot in Kauai! Food was great. Service was fantastic. A must try! Everything our party of 5 ordered was excellent. Fresh squeezed juice selection changes every day. The day we went, watermelon juice was on the menu. It was excellent. Great coffee also! We got there right at open so we walked right in and got a table. By the time we left, it was filling up.

I googled a breakfast restaurant not too far away from our hotel in Koloa and found this amazing cafe! Hubby and I loved our breakfasts so much on Mother’s Day (when it was majorly crowded) that we came back again a few days later. Our meals were absolutely delicious! My Cinnamon French Toast was the best ever!

If you can only get one thing here, make sure it's the French toast!! It was so very good. When you go in, you need to order at the counter first and then (and only then) you grab a table for your crew. We loved everything we got there, including the yummy cinnamon roll! We were so full after this great breakfast! Heads up: if you are going with a party of 5+ people, you may not all be able to be seated together. The staff will do their best to help, but all tables are first come, first served.

Stopped by twice. Breakfast was delicious, vibe is cool and the coffee... fantastic. Wish I had more time to come again. Parking isn't the best when it gets busy but it's worth waiting for a spot. Highly suggest you stop if you are on the island.

Yes! These folks have the perfect, casual restaurant with friendly fast service and delicious menu items. I recommend the Portuguese sausage. My only regret was skipping the blueberry muffin, but next time I'll try one!

Recently stopped by for a quick coffee pickup. They've good a good selection of decaf and caf options. Also tried their pastries, knuckle was very sweet but good, macadamia brownie and cinnamon roll. All pastries were fresh and delicious.

I had the pleasure of dining at Kalaheo Cafe, and it was an exceptional experience! From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious – I had the loco moco, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was freshly prepared. My partner tried the pancakes, and they were light, fluffy, and topped with fresh fruit, which was a real treat. Service was attentive but not overbearing, and we never had to wait long for anything. Visited on a Monday afternoon with 8 guests and waited about 25 minutes for a table. Nearby beach was also busy. Pretty outdoor atmosphere/seating. End of September, so quite humid and a little hot. Ordered the Ribs/Chicken Plate with Mac Salad and Rice - very tasty. Prices as to be expected for area. Service was friendly and attentive. We were seated by the live music, and the speaker was quite loud - we could hardly hear one another while it was playing. Other than that and the chicken flying onto our table, we'd recommend.

The best of Kauai both food, service, atmosphere. We both had the Mac Nut Herb Crusted Fish Monchong or Mukau, By Native Hawaiians. how ever it was spelled as that was the nearest pronunciation I can give. It came with the lemon butter burre blanc with capers. A rice pilaf that was light and tender with roasted carrots vert. Extra burr blanc sauce was nice and recommend by Courtney. I also ran the awesome salad bar that had cold lettuce, dressings, with many different salad offerings plus the best sweetest melons and pineapple. The pineapple was the best I had in two weeks on the Island.

Beautiful Atmosphere inside and outside, both downstairs and upstairs. Lots of tables overlooking the ocean, seeing the surfers in the daytime. The staff are wonderful and the food is delicious. Our server Keenan was an AMAZING EXCELLENT Server. He was on point with everything. Very attentive. The Prime Rib was wonderful. Every dish my party had was wonderful. Coconut shrimp was cooked to perfection and everything was served hot. The Hula pie is enough to share. The Live Music was enjoyable. The specialty drinks were good as well, but should have had more liquor in it.

As much as I would love to have givin 5 stars, I just can’t! I have eaten at Dukes on other islands and in California, so I was excited to eat here once again due to my previous experiences, which have always been good! First off, this place has an incredible atmosphere and views of the bay! That is awesome! The service was good! Super nice staff! The food however was average at best! The prime rib was good, but lacked seasoning! The filet mignon was average! It seemed like it was a sirloin cut, not a filet mignon. Now prof of what it really was, but it left little to be desired! This last experience will definitely make me thanks twice before coming back, especially due to the prices, vs quality! Hope this helps! We came for Sunday brunch. The food was amazing. My husband raved about the fish especially. The fried rice was delicious, more of a "dry" fried rice rather than sticky, which is my preference. The eggs benedict was really good, I was surprised that the yolks were still runny despite being a buffet setting. The waitress was very attentive, which again, I didn't expect for a buffet. My water glass was never empty, and I go through water quickly. There was also live music, which was really lovely. And they have a complimentary valet. We had reservations, but I don't think they were necessary. Probably during the summer months it would be.

This place had a large number of reviews and was highly rated and we understand why. The service is great (free valet included), food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced, and the view is incredible! Having delicious food while staring out at a blue water bay was amazing!

My wife and I went here for our honeymoon dinner and they took great care of us. The Lobster Tails and Filet Mignon were phenomenal. I would definitely recommend getting a reservation in advance - it can be tough to get in. We will be coming to Dukes anytime we’re in Kauai.

Great, local eatery and bar. Came for the happy hour from 12-5P. Service was tight because they were waiting on servers, but all super friendly. We ordered via their QR code in the Toast app to expedite. We got the Mai tai, a guava margarita, the happy hour chicken sliders trio, and the tofu poke bowl. Wish the lunch tofu poke bowl came with a grain feature. Pricey for what they gave us. The sliders were decent.

We drove an hour plus to go have a world famous mai tai. Granted it was very good. We were seated quickly at the bar. We ordered 2full dinners at Market Price and dessert and drinks. Food was very good and fresh. However the service left a lot to be desired. Waitress was not very attentive to our needs. I felt overlooked and ignored. I know we were just tourists but we also would have tipped on the whole bill. Disappointed

What a gem - we've been fortunate enough to eat here a few times. For any friends that we know are staying on the north side, we always suggest this for a dining option. Atmosphere is super cute, drinks are delicious, food is tasty, and service is always top-notch. We hope to make it back again in the future!

Fun place and excellent pizza. I went after my hike to Hanakapiai Falls! Much needed after the 6 hours on foot😂. Great drinks and service too. I made a reservation for one for my bday and they made me a card ☺️.

The minute I saw purple sweet potato and taro on the menu, I’m all in. We both love the food as the ingredients are local and unique and the flavors are impeccable. My favorite other than my purple mashed sweet potato is the cheesecake! I kept telling my boyfriend it tastes like a heavier Japanese cheesecake with taro filling on top. The crust had a grainy texture, which I love, and it’s not super sweet. We ordered Hawaiian pizza with pork, zesty coconut crusted catch (pricing varies), and waipa lilikoi poi cheesecake plus the Mai tai (so good).

Best meal I had since arriving 10 days ago. Lots of local people. Very nice. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Dinner here encompassed everything I was hoping for from our 1st time in Kauai 🥰 We drove by on our way North through Hanalei & decided to try it for dinner on our way back … WOW!!! I would eat there every night of our vacation if I had my way!!! Highly recommend the Poke chips, Kalua Pork sandwich and the macadamia nut crusted chicken. Everything was wonderful, including the Mai Tai 🍹To top it off, the live music was perfection and we had excellent service 🌺💗🏝️ 10/10

Great coffee shop! We had an iced macadamia nut latte, hot macadamia nut latte, and a chocolate, raspberry, pistachio pastry. All was so yummy! The iced coffee was my favorite between the hot and iced. They were busy but service was really quick. Lots of outdoor seating which was great on a beautiful Sunday morning!

Coffee always hot and fresh. Your drinks are made to order. Go early because the line is always to the door (it does move quickly). Food variety is awesome and very delicious and filling. Even selections if you are Vegan or Gluten Free. If you don't like waiting you can call in or order online and pick up at back window/door. Be prepared to enjoy your breakfast & coffee! Ate lunch here two days in a row the pulled pork sandwich was amazing. I had to come back the next day and bring the rest of my group. We all agree. Best sandwich ever thank you.

For what we spent on food and drinks I feel like the prices were honestly really fair. Everything tasted amazing and despite it being busy food came out quickly! If we had more time on the island we would have came back for sure

This place is my all time favorite coffee shop in all of the places I’ve been. And I’m from the PNW and we love our coffee! The Maui Mocha is my fave. The food is amazing. We go at least once a day every day when we come to Kauai. It’s a must stop for us ♥️

The area where this restaurant is located is really nice, and it adds to the overall experience. Just a heads-up: if you don't get there early, seating fills up fast. I arrived around 7:30 PM, and within 30 minutes, every seat around me was taken. I started with the Tropical Haze, which had a really refreshing, tangy flavor — definitely a highlight. For my meal, I ordered the breakfast burrito and the pineapple French toast. The breakfast burrito was decent, but it didn’t really stand out from a typical breakfast burrito. I was hoping for a bit more seasoning or something unique to set it apart. The pineapple French toast was a bit of a letdown. Instead of the rich Hawaiian bread I was expecting, it felt more like regular slices of toast topped with a pineapple drizzle. Overall, I’m glad I gave this place a try, but if I come back, it’ll mostly be for the drinks.

Been coming to Java Kai for a long time now and today I ordered my favorite breakfast from here the Feta mo better I opened my to go box and this is what I get 😑 no feta crumbles, no sprouts, barely any pesto and rotten arugula. Standards seem to be going down. I included a photo of what It should look like from another persons review and instead what I got today

Really enjoyed the plate lunch here. The Mac salad is perfect — not too sweet or saucy. Ahi katsu special was substantial and very crispy. The beef stew tastes just like home made (in a good way). The beef teriyaki was a bit dry but had nice flavor. Overall, really fantastic food. Loved eating outside too.

(Late review - July 2024) This place was recommended by a friend since it was the hubby and my first time in Kauai. Only outside seating is available. Portion size are large. Decent price for the portion. Flavors were pretty good. Service was quick. Bottom line: Easy and quick fix for some local Hawaiian food.

Food are decent and portion is small for the price. Service is so so. I got three small pieces of beef in my meat stew plate (14$), and 7-8 medium size shrimps in the shrimp rice plate (22-23$). I got charged 3% for credit card as well. We tried two other local spots and their food were better with better price.

The BEST food we had on the island hands down. We were told about this spot on the shuttle to hike the Na Pali coast. We went prior to departing the island because it's near the airport. We wish we went earlier to eat there twice. Everything was so flavorful, huge portion size and great price. Chili chicken and the sampler plate!

This is probably the best food I've ever had on any island & probably even overall. I don't regret coming here at all. The portions were the best and the flavor was THE BOMB. The price was good too. I highly recommend the loco moco! The teriyaki beef and chicken was good too. Overall 10/10. Must come if you're in Kauai 🌺 please don't change anything!

If you go anywhere on the island for breakfast, you have to come here for the best malasadas ever! Don’t go anywhere else for malasadas, you’ll be wasting your time & your taste buds will be missing out. They make them fresh, and the dough’s texture and flavor are out of this world. Plus the coffee is absolutely delicious. I usually don’t like eating at the same place more than once on vacation, but we came here every single morning because we loved it that much. Definitely a must-visit spot for anyone coming to Kauai!

Oh my God!!!! Every other bakery needs to shut down now.... This place is so off the hook and amazing I cannot wait to write the review for this this is coming from my heart and soul.... One ... First and foremost coffee is absolutely delicious and it was so hot that I think there was nuclear technology behind it to keep it warm because I got a regular coffee and my wife got a latte and both of them were 1500° or more so be careful yet know this is how coffee is supposed to be served.... Number two we got a variety of pastries and breads we got like five items but it felt like we got 10 or 12 let me explain the apple turnover the outside sugar was absolutely amazing The crystals were small yet not too sweet when you bite into the fruit filling that it doesn't hurt your teeth yet you taste the apple and the butter with thez sweet sugary crusty outside which was absolutely amazing it felt like you had three different pastries in your hand seriously trying it with your eyes closed and see if I'm wrong... Number three... The lilliykoi cheesecake absolutely outstanding once again not too sweet not too sour it was absolutely perfect The dough was like phyllo dough yet on the crusty ends it was so light and fluffy but when you bent into it it melted in your mouth it was so structural that you could probably make and model airplane out of it yet when you bit into it it totally melts in your mouth it was absolutely amazing in every way I suggest eating it with your eyes closed so that way you don't get the calories... Yes I am a true foodie My wife is an accomplished Baker and myself I am very good in the kitchen I actually hate going out to dinner do the fact that I can cook better than anyone that I'm getting served by My wife and I both have the same idea but when it comes to treats like this we need to let people know that this here is a special place a total diamond in the rough due to the fact that you're on island and you can get some amazing stuff and like I said here's one of them.... Number four.... Here comes the banana bread we've been sampling banana bread all over the island now this banana bread perfect moisture content it had some kind of sugary crust on the outside of it how did they get that on there? I think the world may never know Plus it had some bananas that were on top of it when they cooked it they tasted like cotton candy somebody put some love into this banana bread it was absolutely outstanding and amazing had to eat some banana bread yesterday that I threw in the garbage after one bite because it was nasty dry no taste I wouldn't even feed it to my dog so I threw it away you guys should really stand up and not walk but run to this bakery because they said at 10:30 they're going to have sourdough bread and I'll be the first one in line to check that stuff out do the fact that everything else was so amazing totally hit it out of the ballpark that if the bread was bad pfft...Wouldn't even care lol ... So I hope this review helps because I don't want to waste any more money on this island I'd rather give it to someone that totally deserved it someone that put their heart and soul into it and this is the place... not a joke... It is totally worth it with every penny maybe I'll even get a chance to meet some of these people because I'm thinking they are angels or some type of bean that is not of this realm okay mahalo see you at 10:30 a.m. for sourdough If you look at the pictures you'll notice everything is gone this was... amazingly delicious 😋

Passion Bakery Cafe is very welcoming and the team members are super friendly. There are many options for breakfast and pastries. We ordered The Hawaiian Breakfast Sandwich, Pineapple French Toast, and a Mac Nut Latte. We also got Turkey Pasto Ma Nut Puff Pastry, Macadamia Nut White Chocolate Cookie, Banana Bread, and a Cinnamon Sugar Coated Ube Malasadas. They are all super delicious.

We heard a lot of great things about this bakery! It took a while to order and get our one malasada. It was pretty good. The donut part was yummy, but not sure if it was worth the price we paid.

Passion Bakery is one of the best breakfast spots in Kauai. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious, the smoothies were so fresh, and the malasadas were absolutely incredible. The lychee flavor was my favorite - the filing tasted like cotton candy. The service was a little slow, but understandably so, since the bakery is quite popular!

Really sad to rate this place with just three stars. I was very excited to try it based on recommendations but I’m thoroughly disappointed with the flavors of the fillings. Tried the mango, lilikoi, ube, matcha, and Bavarian cream. The fruit fillings tasted very artificial. The food coloring used for the mango was jarring as it resembled yellow mustard. The matcha and Bavarian cream were probably the best tasting ones. It took about 12-15 minutes to get the malasadas so I’d recommend placing an order ahead if you’re in a rush. Granted, it was also busy at the time. Only four customers are allowed inside the store at a time.

In simple terms, all I can say is “yes!” Yes, the pie is delicious, yes, the reviews are rightfully hyping up the place, yes, I’m glad we stopped here. I’d saved this place ahead of my trip to Kauai and didn’t think I’d make it since I’m not one for making a trip for a sweet treat, but oh, wow, I know I do appreciate a good pastry. Pictured is my blueberry piña colada (chef’s kiss) and my friend’s mango! How dreamy, I wish this was back home where I lived.

came here and got the Mac nut pie slice which had all the roasty Mac nut properties you would find around the island so that was tasty and it's a bit more sweet than I would have expected and it's a small slice but actually not a bad size given how sweet it is. and I would say it's a bit pricey for a slice of pie but I think it's a good decent quality slice so would recommend for a slice to try

Had to pull right off the side of the road once we saw pies ahead. And they did not disappoint! The ladies inside were delightfully friendly and helpful, and the pies were spectacular. Had a coconut cream slice with whipped cream on top while deciding what to get for later. I will forever be dreaming about my coconut cream slice even when enjoying my blueberry piña colada and my mango lilikoi. Slices of heaven! I should also mention I got a savory pie for dinner. I may turn into a pie, and gladly so! PS had a bite of my friend’s lilikoi cheesecake, it didn’t last long enough to make it into a picture. Chef’s kiss delicious. Legit the best one we’ve had in years.

This shop is so convenient and unique. We were blown away at the selection and even more amazed at the 2 slices of pie we got, Lilloki cheesecake and key lime pie. This is a spot NOT TO MISS! We loved the cheese Sk so much we bought a “make it yourself” kit to try and retreat when we’re stateside. Trust me- STOP AT THE RIGHT SLICE! Yum!

Gluten free Cheesecake was 43 dollars for a 6" diameter cake. Was not very tasty. Price for gf cheesecake was not advertised. Triple the price of other cake listed. Neglected to tell us the price until I was about to pay. Allergy tax? Tourist tax? Was excited about this place. Big time cheese cake and pie enjoyers. Was definitely a let down.

Great pie 🥧 the mango lilikoi is similar to a peach pie, in regards to flavor. A slight tang in the sweetness. The fruit had just the right bite to it, and a tender crust. I would try the cheesecake next time!

Great little place to hit on way back from the canyon, Port Allen or Kauai Coffee company. We tried the chicken pot pie which was really amazing. Just the right portion and flavors. They have an assortment of great pies too… we got the blueberry and a slice of chocolate coconut. Will definitely be back!

What a delicious comforting breakfast we were served! I had the vegetarian omelet with no onion and chose hash browns as my side. Veggies were sautéed in a juice flavor - lots of veggies. Portions are big! I felt full thru lunch time! The kids had French toast and the simple waffles. Waffles are very basic, definitely not made in-house. The French toast definitely were freshly made and topped with lots of fresh fruit and whipped cream - A+ from the kids 👍🏼😋 Hubby had the Kanaka breakfast which came with eggs, bacon, spam, Portuguese sausage, ham, rice, hashbrowns, and toast! 😲 yup, he skipped lunch that day too. Prices seem high but inline with the raisng cost of everything else 🤷🏻‍♀️ Definitely recommend this place for a hearty tasty breakfast meal. They also have lunch / dinner entrees on the menu. Coffee was also good tasting and our server always kept our cups full!! Thanks 🤙

God is Amazing! What a gem of a place! The food is amazing! They have the best Stuffed Shrimp Eggs Benedict and they have mouthwatering Coconut Macadamia Pancakes…the best pancakes and benedict I’ve ever had. The service is speedy and friendly. We will definitely be back on future trips.

Great breakfast stop. I really enjoyed their French toast breakfast. The Punaluu sweet beard was delicious. There was no wait, fast seating, order taken and delivered quickly.

Local, nondescript, fine. Nothing special here. Old host is a bit of a grump, but not offensive. Just no Aloha. Food is brown and forgettable. Syrup is definitely not maple! Prices are typical of this island, which is more than what I am used to in the mainland for superior quality. Not bad, not remarkable. No waiting for us mid-week at about 10am. So that’s a plus!

Popular local brekkie spot in a Lihue strip mall open early, headed here straight off the plane🤙Had an early morning local Saturday crowd but we were seated right away. We ordered the local breakfast consisting of 3 eggs, hash browns and port sausage, along with a short stack pancakes, Deluxe French Toast and a fruit bowl. Friendly service and good food, a perfect choice before heading out on a Kauai daytrip adventure..... 5 stars

This place is one of our favorites! Harry is the coolest guy! He looks a little rough around the edges, but just talk to him… he’s the best! The food is divine! The stuffed French toast is a bit of heaven. Highly recommend!

Holy Grail Donuts = life changing. 🫶 My boyfriend and I thought we were being “reasonable” by getting just three to share… super rookie mistake. I should’ve grabbed a dozen because I would’ve happily eaten the entire box myself over the weekend and not felt one ounce of regret. Every single flavor is unreal. (Late review - July 2024) A viral donut shop where all the influencers raved about. It’s located in a quaint food truck area. My husband and I had high expectations from all the recs. The service was swift and courteous. Everything is outdoors so the seats are picnic tables next to the truck. The donuts are beautifully crafted, enticing to the eyes. I can’t say the taste is the same. The donut texture and flavors did not stand out nor memorable. I recalled the donuts were on the dense side. Bottom line: Not worth the hype.

Ever had Taro donuts before- must try if not. Freshly made to order donuts Limited flavors based on the week but they do have a few permanent donuts. Lucky enough to have tried Holey Grail in Hanalei, Honolulu, and Long Beach. But the Hanalei location is the best imo. Island feel definitely. Their coffee is really good and they use cashew milk. The classic 4 donuts are all good but the weekly specials are great. Lucky enough that we have a group of people to share multiple donuts

Really unique and flavorful vegan donuts made fresh when you order. We ordered the tasting box which comes with 4 different flavors. We had Saffron snickerdoodle, POG, Reincarnated and Chaga Chai. The staff were super friendly. It was wonderful to enjoy warm donuts with a view of the taro fields and mountains.

These were definitely the best doughnuts I have ever had. It is not normally my go to for breakfast but if you’re in Hanalei you have to stop by!

Insanely delicious, made-to-order taro root donuts 🤤🤤 our favorite was the original sin. The ube was lacking a pronounced ube flavor in my opinion. But the texture/taste of the donuts was 10/10. Don’t skip! Branding is 🔥🔥

Quality of the donuts and coffee was amazing, and the views from their tables cannot be beat. The donut was so amazingly fresh and hot. Highly recommend!

Yep this is a great place for dinner. Doesn't look like much from the outside but you step into a little oasis with food that's as good as the scenery. Came back twice and would keep coming if we stayed longer. Would recommend to all!

I love this place.I always go here.The coconut shrimp are really good and quite big. The cocktails are also really good. But the best part about it is the atmosphere and the service. I would definitely recommend going to this restaurant. Ruby is a excellent server. Thank you ruby.

Made reservations in advance for a party of 16 and seated at 2 8-person tables next to one another... right next to the live musician who was fantastic! Restaurant is absolutely gorgeous and surrounded completely by lush greenery and flowers... but this also makes it extra humid, so dress accordingly! Service was very friendly and attentive - Carly was awesome! -Nacho Appetizer -Kale Salad -Spinach & Mushroom Ravioli -Keoki Style Fish -Pina Colada with Strawberry -Cilantro Mango Heat Cocktail Everything was absolutely delicious, and priced as expected for a nice restaurant. Would highly recommend for any group size and special occasion!

Small menu, pricey, opulent. Didn't eat but had a drink... Then moved on. Beautiful place, water falls, nice art, bunch of chickens scurrying around. Food looks good. I was happy to go a few miles and get a burger from Kenji!

This place is a hidden gem of a restaurant. It is near Poipu Road but you can't tell when you are in the place. Is features split level dining with a great view of ponds and banyan trees. Food was excellent and at a fair price for Hawaii. Lo

Kaelin was our server and she was just amazing. Our Mac crusted fish fresh caught and local was out of the world with capers, olive oil and excellently seasoned rice. Not to mention that the fish and chips was so well done. Kaelyn also went above and beyond to ask and find out where we can get the fish ourselves.

Our anniversary dinner was wonderful! Live music, mai tai, macadamia encrusted fresh fish, hula pie, beautiful setting and a great server Blythe....can't wait to return! 🌴

I ordered the New York strip steak with potatoes and veggies, and it was cooked perfectly—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. (Wish I would have remembered to take a photo I was starving after a long day of travel to the island.). The sides were fresh and complemented the steak beautifully. For dessert, I had the chocolate lava cake, and it was the perfect sweet ending, so delicious! Combine that with the beautiful beachside atmosphere along with live entertainment, it made for such a memorable dining experience. Highly recommend!

Been here a couple times when visiting Kauai. This past time we got the poke nachos, pineapple fried rice with coconut shrimp, teri steak, ice cream, cheesecake and a ube limeade. I think this was actually my second time getting the fried rice because I normally love it, but I guess just not here. It needed a little more something. I added the juice from the steak and it was much better. The shrimp was great and the nachos really hit the spot. The highlights for me though were the ube limeade mocktail recommended by our awesome server David and also the cheesecake. I would make a stop here every time I'm on island for those two things. Atmosphere is fun and the service is great. Would recommend as a nice chill vibe.

Awesome place on the beach. The combo appetizer was excellent with 4 jumbo coconut shrimp, tiniest tender deep fried calamari with deep fried artichoke, sweet sashimi ahi tuna cubes over taro chips and seaweed. Great dipping sauces of aioli and a ginger guava sweetness. Also had the sizzling garlic shrimp scampi in butter in cast iron skillet. A little side of pineapple fried rice. An excellent Huggo's Mai Tai. Completed with a tiny tasty key lime pie... Service was excellent on a really busy evening with a perfect breeze at sunset and after.

We had a wonderful time at Lava Lava Beach Club! The atmosphere was perfect, the food was delicious, and the views were just stunning. A very special thank you to our waitress, Nadia, who made the lunch extra memorable with her friendly smile, attentive service, and genuine warmth. She truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Mahalo, Lava Lava team, and especially Nadia we’ll definitely be back! Visitors : Enjoy delicious food and lovely ocean location !

Great place to eat by the ocean, listen to live music and enjoy the atmosphere of a tiki bar. The food was delicious and the waitress worked with you to create an allergy free entree. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Loved having a specialty drink, listening to a man sing, sampling delicious foods sitting by the ocean. The specialty drinks are created by one of the best bar tenders in Kauai! On our visit to Hawaii, we went twice to enjoy the atmosphere!

Birthdays, birthdays, birthdays. There’s truly no better place to celebrate than right on the beach in Hawaii. Appetizers filled the table, espresso martinis filled our glasses, and the sound of the waves crashing in the background set the perfect mood for the evening. The setting couldn’t have been more beautiful, ocean breeze, good friends, and that unmistakable island energy that makes everything feel a little more special. Course after course, round after round, each dish somehow topped the last. By the time the birthday dessert came out, complete with sparkling, it felt like the perfect ending to an already unforgettable night. The staff was amazing, warm, friendly, and so accommodating making sure everything ran smoothly from start to finish. Honestly, the night couldn’t have gone better. It was one of those evenings you wish you could hit replay on just one more time.

This was the coolest place we ate at all week. We got there early for breakfast, there was no wait, and we had a beach front view. We ordered the Cakes by the Ocean. The food was great and it was large portions. We will definitely be returning to Lava Lava when we’re in Kauai again!

Great walk up window street food. My wife and I both got the bowls, customized to our preference. We were surprised by the portions! Great, filling lunch. I got the fresh fish, which was ono today (pictured) - a few bucks more than the other options but well worth it. My wife had the pork which was tender, shredded and delicious too.

Not sure what everyone loves about this place. Its ok. There is another Mexican food trucks about a half mile away that's way better and cheaper. Not much charm. We had carne asada. Cheese quesadilla and shrimp tacos. The carne asada was the best they had. The shrimp tacos were below average. Don't bother adding rice or beans for an extra $4. Get it ala carte. Staff was nice enough but no seating so get ready to take it on the go.

Great tacos with fresh local ingredients. Loved the grilled fish tacos as a healthy dinner! Excellent service. I’m from AZ and these are not authentic tacos (you can typically only get truly authentic tacos in or near Mexico), but they were fresh and delicious! We will definitely be back. Note that there is only outdoor bench seating. This a quick stop on your way to Poipu beach.

Had the Ahi fish tacos with fire sauce and burrito bowl. Food was good but didn’t have the “WOW”factor. Would try again though.

OMGosh, now I know why the lines at this place during peak times are long! Incredible and affordable Mexican food. My wife had the fish tacos (ahi was the fresh catch of the day) and I had a chicken burrito. Both dishes were very flavorful. We ordered online and didn’t have to wait to pick up. So amazing!!! Stop here for lunch and/or dinner while on da South Island

Overall the crack is delicious Mexican food in kauai. Fish tacos are where it's at. Love the addition of fajitas peppers and onions to their menu. I had both the fish tacos and a carne asada burrito both were delicious. I highly recommend you load them with everything to make them extra good!! Pro tip it's a walk-up only window no seating so take it to go.

We've been meaning to stop in and try Porky's and missed our chance while visiting a month ago. It was worth the wait. Now the only thing left to decide is is it reasonable to eat here for both lunch and dinner? The debate is still raging in our family -- dog or grilled cheese? Either way -- 5 pigs 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷!!

Best way to describe it is yummy loaded hot dogs. A nice hearty hot dog or sausage topped with Hawaiian pulled pork, pineapple and grilled onions and a sauce of choice. It's a small place with very little casusl seating.

This is the only restaurant on the island we had to visit more than once. The food at this place is amazing. We ordered the number 3 with mac salad and the number 4 with mac salad. Each plate comes with one side and a drink. You get a choice of sweet or sweet/spicy BBQ sauce. We tried both, but my favorite is the spicy one. The serving sizes are large and the price is reasonable. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is also very clean, open, and airy. This is a MUST visit if you're on the island!

The #3 pulled pork with grilled onions, provolone and havarti cheese, and fresh pineapple was the best grilled cheese I’ve had in my life. And the macaroni salad was amazing! Definitely a must if you’re in the area!

While visiting on vacation, we were in the area and decided to give this place a try. WOW...best pulled pork I can remember having. I had the grilled cheese pulled pork and my wife had the pulled pork hotdog. We both really enjoyed the food and open indoor outdoor dinning. Sandwiches were freshly made but didn't have to wait too long. Mahalo!

Had the Number 1 and it was amazing! The pineapple sausage with pulled pork, grilled onions, and fresh pineapple was packed with flavor. Super friendly staff and fast service. Definitely worth the stop!

We took the grilled pork cheese and a pulled pork & spicy pineapple sausage sandwich that come with a side and a juice....amazingly good and tasty, good portions, must try.

Perhaps the best omelet I’ve ever had! The Shark is a must have — three eggs, bacon bits, Portuguese sausage bits and Kalua pork, with shredded cheese. To die for! And comes with a side of overnight oats with mango. Incredible. My wife had the avocado toast…she said it was amazing. Only one table to eat at, so “get cozy” and sit next to others who will join you.

This was a delicious Hawaiian breakfast experience!! I loved their vegetarian fried rice dish. The shoyu ginger sauce combined with sweet peppers with eggs was so fun and delicious. And I loved their coconut style Hawaiian bread French toast. Highly recommend visiting here if you’re looking for a friendly vegetarian Hawaiian breakfast meal.

A great spot for brunch/lunch! I ordered the vegetarian omelet which was very well seasoned! It also came with overnight oats and a bit of cantaloupe. The service was friendly. There is not a lot of seating at the café but there are places to sit around the plaza. The prices are very reasonable for the island.

French toast was yummy! The lemon was a little tart, exactly how I like. The pork fried rice was also good. The major downsides of coming here are that it’s expensive, and there isn’t a lot of seating in the area. We managed to find a bench, and a bird swooped in the steal a couple of bites of food.

This is one of the best omelettes I have had! The flavors are amazing even the overnight oats! Highly recommend!

Get here early or you'll be waiting in a long line (but it moves pretty quickly). The best thing on the menu is, well, everything. From the pancakes to the french toast to the fried rice and the bowls. It's all so ono. There are communal tables nearby that you'll share with the local chickens. We always just take it to go. Great food, great service, and it's a hidden gem in the Poipu Shopping Center.

Fantastic breakfast spot in the middle of the Poipu Shopping Village. The Fried Rice has a perfect amount of crisp / crunch in every bite. It's also a great ratio of rice, egg, and goodies. This is a must-have every time we come to town. The Veggie Omelette is one of the best omelettes we've found. The pesto across the top perfectly compliments the fresh veggies & the omelette itself has great structure and light and fluffy. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They're helpful with menu suggestions, too! Only complaint (and this isn't on the restaurant) is that there's not really a great place to eat. There are two picnic tables to the side of the restaurant, but they're not comfortable and often full. We always take it home to eat.

Food is fine, a little salty though. But the staff here are very unfriendly and impatient and never had smile. They just ignored customers and let people wait without saying whether there were seats or not. After we were seated, they kept us waiting without any service, water, or ordering for at least 15 minutes. When they finally served the food, they just put it on the table impatiently without saying anything like “enjoy” or anything like that. We understand this is a busy cafe, but their service makes you feel like you owe them lots of money 🤷🏻‍♀️

The restaurant cafe is incredible. I had the BEST banana pancakes ever here. The texture is so soft, and the taste is perfect. I’m from New York, and this is the only restaurant in all of Hawaii that didn’t taste like trash. The oxtail soup is great, although slightly salty.

Ok, let's say that I would not bring the British Royal Family over here, but the place was decent enough and clean, even though a bit outdated. We spent 7 nights and had no complaints. Since it is the most affordable accomodation on the island, we weren't expecting Grand Hyatt like amenities either. Overall, good place for those traveling on a budget that want to explore the island. Plus, the food in the cafe was really good, the oxtail soup is an absolute must.

Gotta be honest - we flew into Kauai one day before our official vacation started and we needed a cheap place to stay close to the airport. Tip-Top Motel was the cheapest place we could find and it turned out to be a decent night's sleep. Nothing fancy, but that's not what they are about. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It's walking distance from Walmart so that's a plus. I was emailed a door code and never saw staff while we were there.

The motel was decent enough for a quick trip I planned. I was only in Kauai for one night and didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a fancy hotel. I just needed a place to spend the night. It was clean, close to the airport, and affordable. Definitely would recommend if you're here for a quick trip.

There isn't much by way of service it's a basics kinda hotel/motel. Room is nice 2 single beds, smart TV with hook upstairs. My son and I played Brawlhalla. Everything is clean and simple. You have to book before 2 bc the lobby closes at 2, you book online and by phone only before 2pm. Close to everything in the heart of Linhuè, Kauai, Hawaii

World famous local diner same as-it-ever-was when I first visited Lihue Kaua'i 20 years ago on my honeymoon. Fast, efficient, great macadamian pancakes, spam, rice, loco moco, Portuguese sausage - no frills (1970's time capsule!) and lots of locals!

Definitely a good spot to grab breakfast when in town. Just keep in mind during morning rush hours be prepared to wait in line. But the food is worth the wait. Absolutely recommend trying it out.

I stumbled upon this beautiful cafe during my trip to Hanalei, and it has an amazing menu. The only downside is that the kitchen closes really early, by 12:30 PM it was already shut. Still, they let us order an açai bowl, a yogurt, and a Danish with ham and cheese. Everything was super delicious, and the place itself is very cozy. Also the stuff is really nice. I would have loved to try their sandwiches and toasts. Highly recommended!

The Hanalei Bread Company was the best food on the island by far!!!!! We tried so many different places from fancy to fast fare for a week and nothing compared to everything we tried here. It doesn’t matter what you get, it’s all amazing and perfect. If they were open for dinner we would have made it there for 3 meals a day.

My friends recommended Hanalei bread company for breakfast. They said it was the best breakfast they had while staying in Kauai. So, we decided to go. It was a Saturday and very busy. We ordered the apple ricotta toast, peanut butter toast, brekkie sandwich, but sandwich and the roasted vegetable sandwich. The apple ricotta toast was good, but the apple wasn't very flavorful and the toast didnt have much flavor overall. The peanut butter toast was good and simple. The brekkie sandwich was good but the feta overpowered the rest of the flavors in it. The blt was good; but the vegetable sandwich was by far the best tasting thinf we got. Warm and full of flavor and a variety of vegetables. It was a bit pricey so be warned. Overall a okay experience but maybe we got the wrong items but check it out if you love bread. (Wait time was 20 minutes)

Delicious menus. Excellent atmosphere and fabulous drinks. This cozy restaurant was one of the highlights of our food experiences in Kauai. It is open only for 5 hours and still they ran out of bread by 10 AM on a Tuesday, AFTER the memorial Day long weekend! That's how crazy the demand is! We tried the Immune Booster smoothie, Avocado Toast and Hot Pastrami Sandwich. We also bought banana bread and mango bread. Simply awesome! If you visit Hanalei, this restaurant is a must try

This place was always busy, and for a good reason. Really fresh ingredients, good proportions, and friendly staff. I had the breakfast burrito, and my wife had the avocado toast. On another visit I had the Açaí bowl, and all this food was excellent!

had breakfast here and got the burrito and a carrot cake cupcake. the carrot cake was great, but the burrito was very very bland and also like 85% potato. the food is by all means fine, but it’s not worth waiting in the 10-20 min line that is always there

came here for the tropical shave ice and it didn't have as many holes as I have seen in other places and it required a little bit of a chop in order to get the flavor, it was all right. had much better but can't complain

We tried ‘da bomb’ and then a blue raspberry + strawberry which were both yummy! My husband and I both agreed we would have liked da bomb more if it was cola instead of root beer. I also did not like strawberry which is usually my fav flavor but it tasted nothing like strawberry and was really strange tasting so I would not recommend.

This charming little shack offers organic shave ice. We tried the Tropical Bliss and Sunset flavors with Macnut Ice cream. It was yummy. We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious. So many different combinations with toppings or ice cream for the center. This is such a neat area to hang out enjoy some shaved ice and make memories. Make sure this is on your list of places to stop.

Piña Colada flavor was great! A local told us this is the best shave ice on the island and I couldn’t agree more…comes with macadamia nut ice cream.

Wishing Well Shave Ice is a nice spot for a sweet and refreshing treat. The fast and friendly service made my experience enjoyable from start to finish. You have the option to choose between organic or traditional flavors, but you can't mix the two. This allows for a personalized experience, as you can select up to two flavors if you opt for organic and up to three if you prefer traditional. I appreciated the ability to customize my shaved ice to my taste. The shaved ice itself was delicious, as you might expect from a classic Hawaiian treat. The flavors were vibrant and refreshing. While I didn't add ice cream this time, I can see how it would elevate the experience even further. Overall, Wishing Well Shave Ice is a great spot to cool down and indulge in a delicious dessert. With its friendly service, customizable flavors, and high-quality shaved ice, it's definitely worth a visit.

Went for late breakfast/brunch. Started with the Churro French Toast….it was freaking amazing, every bite i ate with their cream whip cream. I eat a lot of food but 1/2 order is perfect for one. Full order could easily feed 3 people🤤. Also tried their Baddie..sweat beat egg sandwich. Eggs your choice with breakfast sausage Pattie. Super delicious and tasty every bite!! We also added a side of rice and Portuguese sausage which was very good and tasty as well. Rice is standard Hawaiian sticky rice. Be aware their menu does change up on ya lol which is super cool. So what you’re reading online might not be served lol!! Just go and eat and you will be ALL RIGHT!!🤙🏿 tried their house juice Dragonfruit Lemonade. Im not a bug fan of dragonfruit drinks but wanted to to theirs. It was really good!! 💯 recommend if your in Hanalei area go and get your grub On

I never leave reviews… but don’t miss this place 🙌🏼 every single thing was above and beyond amazing. We got the burrito, French toast, chicken katsu and garlic shrimp. 10/10 all around. Probably the meal we have had on all Hawaiian islands for the price. The staff was also top notch customer service 👌🏼

This place did not disappoint. Super delicious food and good portions. Clean and friendly staff. I wish it was open for dinner too! I would recommend making this a stop when in town. One of the best food stops so far for us.

We came here 3 times during our 3 day trip - they are serving up absolute fire meals. Wish they were open every evening. The taco Tuesday was amazing, breakfast burrito, and plate lunch. And shockingly affordable. Sad to leave!!!! And don’t miss the pineapple hot sauce

Amazing food, and great service. Pastries are all freshly made, servers are nice, and of course, the food tasted great. Warning for those who order half of the French toast however, the portion is HUGE!! 🥗🍗🍱😋😋

By far this has been the best shave ice of our trip! Tried Jojo's was not the kind of shave ice we were expecting, thicker chunks and not smooth. Wailua is the place to get that nice smooth shave ice! The fresh fruit on top was amazing. All of the shave ice we tried was delicious and they are open until 9PM. If you have been on Kauai for longer than 2 days you will notice most places close up early or before 7pm. We will be back for more shave ice before we head back home!

I learned quickly visiting Hawaii that you should absolutely judge it's shaved ice based on the line of people waiting. We had multiple people tell us that this is the best shaved ice not just on Kauai but on all of the Hawaiian Islands. This proved to be absolutely not true. There are certainly better shaved ice options. What makes this place at the lower end of the list is not just the fact that the quality of the shaved ice was just not that good, but there's also no interaction with people here. You order through a kiosk, and there are people behind the counter who make it, all they do is shout out your name when it's done like Starbucks next door. The shaved ice is mediocre at best. I do want to give a shout out to the owners of this facility because they have learned how to maximize profits and I applaud that. The facility was clean and the three young ladies behind the counter who were making the shaved ice appeared to be happy and get along.

9/10 - da ube one 9.5/10: so fire. the cream on top was wonderful, with surprises of crunchy coconut flakes. every bite had just as much flavor, the ice was infused!!!! - lava flow 3/10: so bad. don't get this one. it tasted like artificial pineapple, with some sad canned pineapple and frozen strawberries on top. the haupia cream was good but didn't make up for the rest of it being so bad. we ended up tossing half of it :(

damn. this is some shave ice joint. Even though it's inside of establishment and not part of a food truck which I feel like is more the way to go, this place does a great shave ice, very delicate and tasty and great texture and fresh and delicious and refreshing and everything you would want from one, at theo with some mochi and it had a very light whipped on top and definitely going to come back for the lava

All my stars are just for the texture of the shave ice the texture is sooooooo fluffy however I feel like their flavors could use some help but the almond joy is pretty good.

Absolutely delicious! We got Lava Flow and I can't remember the name of the other one, but it was strawberry, banana and mango. We added the ice cream scoop on the bottom, highly recommended. I don't eat regular shaved ice, they make me so sick and just honestly aren't great imo, but this one I could eat and loved so much. It was hard to just pick 2, I wanted to try so many other flavors, they all looked delicious. Put this one on your must do list!

By far best shaved ice on the island and their awards speak for themselves. I am pretty sure they have been ranked best shaved ice on the island every year since 2018 except for 2020 for obvious reasons. Kinda hard to argue that.

I found this local place on Google and boy am I glad I did. Auntie at the counter helped me pick the steak and noodle bowl. Delish! And it’s a steal at $10, considering the typical prices on Kauai. Highly recommend this little unassuming strip-mall treasure!

As a white tourist.. I expected to be shunned a little bit with the service and overall treatment and I was right. They definitely tended to all the other tables and left our table alone. Went a good 15 minutes without the coffee I ordered and finally got it when I had to ask them for it when the food came out. It's all good though. Hopefully treatment of tourists guests gets better... As for the food, it's really good and definitely worth the visit alone. If you're a tourist and you're going to come in, don't expect to be catered to or even treated the same as other guests... But you will definitely like the food as it's very authentically made and full of flavor. I'd still eat there again even with the bad service. Still gave it five stars because the food is that good. Without the food being as high I would have given it one star.

Amazing food and they serve breakfast all day! I recommend the chicken cutlet fried noodle rice bowl.

First off food was delicious. Next . DO NOT GO BY THE PRICES LISTED!!!! BOWLS ARE $10.99 cash $11.40 cc. Everything on the menu is about 30% higher then the posted prices. BUT it is still a great deal!!!!! This does not mean don't come at all. It is just a heads up that these are non monitored prices. But place is busy with locals and the place is always cooking Good food, good people, and a huge variety of choices in the menu

GO HERE!!! The food was so delicious & flavorful. Large portions & so many options to choose from. We were looking for some great Hawaiian staples with a mix of things for picky kids! This was the place! One kid had a burger with fries, one had some amazing French toast & the rest of us could get some local favs. They were very friendly too!

As usual. We found this place towards the end of our trip 😟 It's a hidden gem. We come to Kauai every year. This will be a regular place to eat. With restaurant prices that are outrageous. It's a VERY reasonable price for great food!! Thanx for such a great place!

A great spot on the island of Kauai for some natural foods. Lots of the staple vegan, vegetarian, and organic options you don’t find at your neighborhood Walmart. I got a 4 pack of frozen Just Egg, a 6 pack of Beyond breakfast sausage, and 8 biscuits for $19. The condo were in has a full kitchen, so I made grits and fed 5 adults for $20😎

This is a wonderful store with amazing high quality collections. They have very good brands that focus on health and quality. Their pre-prepared food also tasted very well. Very optimal use of space. Parking is plenty and great location. Very well suited for vegetarians and vegans. Great selection of lentils, grains and spices.

Nice grocery store with lots of quality, organic options - a lady with short hair was so kind and knowledgeable about what products I needed to help with my acne and detoxing. I actually learned a lot of new things, thank you!!

My favourite place on the island to shop for all my regular essentials. They are so well stocked and the prices are extremely fair. It’s so nice to be able to find items we usually use on this island. The staff are super helpful and friendly too. We went back to pick up snacks for our hike and that energy trail mix is 🔥

I walked in and was immediately in love!! They had all my favorite things!! Vitamins, gluten free, dairy free, ethnic etc. I easily spent over $100! I will go back all the time!

Great natural food store! Check out the food counter in the back. We especially enjoyed the stir fry and fish burger. Very friendly employees with lots of aloha 🌺

Loved Payaya's Food store!! We stayed right across the street from here and were SO happy with their selection & that it's a natural food store. There was fresh, local produce, household items, bulk items, and TONS of vegan and vegetarian options. There is also a section towards the back where you can grab fresh food- salad bar, wraps, menu for hot food. Everything we got was delicious & prices are relatively similar to the main stream grocery store in the next shopping center.

My favorite quick seafood shop when I fly into Kauai. Their variety of cone sushi is one of my favorites, and they have amazing selecting of poke (fish, shellfish, tofu, etc.), and fried items like calamari or oyster. Very delicious and reasonably priced. If you want lunch or delicious nutritious snacks, this is a place to come!

I asked the bellboy Bryce at the Marriott Kauai Beach Resort for his recommendation and he suggested Konohiki Seafood. We got takeout and ordered several different kinds of poke along with their ginger fried chicken. Everything was delicious. The poke was fresh and well prepared, and the chicken had great flavor and texture. Just a heads up for other visitors—this is counter service only, and everything is paid for up front, including small things like paper plates and utensils. We’re not used to being charged for those back home, so that felt a little surprising. Still, the quality of the food made it a worthwhile stop and we’re glad we got a local recommendation.

The best poke on Kauai! We came here 3 times during our 4-day trip to Kauai. Their spicy ahi poke is excellent! 😋 It's popular among locals too.

Man this place can hook you up with all kinds of great fish options. It’s fresh and tons of variety. Also keep a lookout for the deal of the day and their desserts. But if it’s your first time I recommend stepping to the side while you check the menu out and letting the regulars pass through so you don’t hold up the line.

Cool little hidden gem. Lots of fresh and delicious Poke to choose from 😋 Fried chicken was really good but I love poke 😍 Although they were super busy, staff were friendly and helpful with food choices 😊 Note: takeaway only, small space inside with a maximum of 10 people restriction (overflow to queue outside).

Nice little place, has something for everyone. Good place to stop by and grab some food for lunch or take it to the beach like we did. Definitely coming back before we head back home for some poke to take back home 🛫

This place is crazy popular and for value I see why. We got there at 11 and the line was inside the store, when we left 20 min later the parking lot was full. No place to eat inside, and no tables outside so take it to go or eat in your car. I got the $8.95 chicken and shrimp plate. Two pieces of shrimp and chicken and rice. My wife got the Toridon, poki over rice with potato salad with chicken. It was too much for us to finish. So much poki. I brought home one piece of chicken. Prices are getting crazy, portion size shrinking by the day! My son got a burrito because he knew in the past it was a good size. Turns it they switched it from my big burrito to a small little thing that looks like it’s made for a child. Even worse, this tiny burrito was $10.50 before tax. You can go to McDonald’s & get 2 burritos (both bigger) plus a hash brown and a drink for less than the child size burrito at Hanalima. The last time we got food there, I found hair in my food. The food we ordered this time, loco mocos, also much less than normal. I understand inflation but the burrito situation is on another level. I’ve been going to Hanalima since I was a kid. I appreciate the mom-and-pop small business. I support that but after today I’m a little hesitant that we’ll be going there as often as we once did. My one suggestion is don’t get the burrito unless it’s for your kid or you just want to pay full price for a sample size to try. Love them but I’m def frustrated in that.

Not very friendly. They do not have stuffed malasadas, only the original with sugar on the outside which is totally fine if that’s what you’re looking for. Didn’t offer to warm up any of our bakery items. We went to another bakery near here after & had a much much better experience.

Great little bakery! We particularly enjoyed the fresh brewed coffee, breakfast burritos and the baked pork manapua. This is a perfect place to fuel up before a day of adventures on Kauai!

Delicious food at a reasonable price. Friendly fast service. Definitely recommend! We even had a cute little chicken 🐓 “keep us company” while we ate. 😂 Getting used to seeing chickens everywhere on the island 🌴 love it, even the rooster alarm clocks in the morning.

We love it here! Apple turnovers are amazing!! And you gotta try a crab roll! Such an easy place to pick up sandwiches before a hike, which is what we did.

Can't wait to go back soon. Fresh baked goods are such a treat! The prices are fair and every meal comes with rice and toast...YUM!

Love the food here. You gotta be there really early for the full spread of rolls, I love the spicy crab, portuguese sausage, or flying saucers. They’re prepared food is great too, I love the kim chee fried rice omelet or the brisket bomb. Been coming here for years, owners are really kind hardworking people. My favorite breakfast spot in lihue!

Breakfast was delicious! Great coffee too. Sat on the patio, listening to a local musician. Homemade bread and homemade gluten-free bread! They are good about avoiding cross contact. It's a collective of local farmers and such. Quality ingredients. But it's pretty expensive, even for Hawaii.

Really delicious. My husband can't stop talking about the Mac nut latte. The coffee is really good, I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but it was very good. The shakshuka didn't come with enough bread and the pieces were very thick. I would have been happy if they had sliced the pieces in half again and gave us that. The avocado toast was good as well, the bread is all housemaid and amazing. I had a sourdough oatmeal raisin cookie, which was soft even after after sitting in the car for hours. They add a standard 18% surcharge in lieu of tipping, so be aware of that. For our 2 coffees, 2 meals, and 1 cookie, it came out to a little over $60. It was very filling, although the portions seem small at first.

This is easily one of the best breakfast spots on the island! The service was truly amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious. We tried the macadamia nut toast and the brisket sandwich, and both were outstanding. The brisket, in particular, was exceptionally flavorful. Highly recommend this place!

Loved it so much we went back a second day! Highly recommend, great quality, unique and authentic offerings. Service was very good too and they remembered us when we came back.

One of the best places to get food on the island. Obviously they take a lot of care with both their coffee and food. The breakfast sandwich with house made spam was incredible: the house made muffin they put it on was so good. They roast and sell Hawaiian coffee, and they have reasonable roast dates (about a week and a half from what I saw). This is one of those places where I think you can order anything off the menu and it’ll be good. Highly recommend.

As a self proclaimed coffee snob, this was some of the best coffee I’ve had, the espresso was done very well and was very smooth the latte and cortado were fantastic. This is not a touristy spot, it’s a very very good craft coffee house. Also best avocado toast I’ve had.

We were happy to find Collab Cafe after our original brunch plans were unexpectedly closed. The interior is very cute and they were roasting coffee right there, which was fun to watch. We ordered some toasts and coffee, then sat outside. Outside seating is clean but the tables are a bit wobbly so I was worried my coffee would fall over! Luckily it did not. The toasts were both very delicious. The macadamia pesto toast was a revelation, way above expectations. The mushroom toast also impressed us. Drinks were fine but nothing special.
