Veli Žal is a renowned pebble beach located near the charming ancient village and port of Veli Losinj, an easy 10-minute bus ride from Mali Losinj. The shore offers several seafront eateries where you can order refreshments and meals. Additionally, loungers and parasols are available for rent at the beach bar. The crystal clear turquoise waters make this a lovely spot to relax and take in the stunning view.
Perfect beach. Big open area to enter the water. Small gravel to lay on the beach. Restaurant above has a great view.
Tara C — Google review
One of my favorite beach on Losinj. Not to crowded. Cristal clear water, take care of sea urchins. Some natural shade available on both sides. Freshwater showers available, also there is a restaurant and bar nearby in case you get hungry.
Darko K — Google review
One of the best beaches on the island. Huge pine forest above it if you don't like to lay in the sun the whole day. There is a public parking lot above it, price is 3 kn per hour. The see is amazing, clean and nice aquamarine color. It is clean and there are cliffs with deep water and also a pebble beach which is great for kids. You have all of the amenities there, including a restaurant. Great thing is, doesn't matter when you come, there will be a free spot for you in the forest (probably not on the beach itself though).
Davor A — Google review
Nice beach, like many other beaches in Croatia. Sun umbrellas, sunbeds, shower, refreshments, nice location, but too many people (mid-June) Pebble beach, gently shelving beach, clean water in the morning, but in the afternoon there was some rubbish floating in the water and here and there you could see some mini jellyfish
Zuzana — Google review
Quite many people but beautiful landscape, green water and white rocks. Many different services: rentals, trampoline, restaurant
Viktória O — Google review
Veli Zal is a great pebble beach just outside Veli Losinj, which is a beautiful old medieval village and port about 10 minutes by bus from Mali Losinj. You can order drinks and food as well as hire a parasol and deck chair from the bar near the beach.
Mark C — Google review
Sea is very clean, plenty of shade depending of the hour of the day. Couple of restauranta in the vicinity. Visiting this place is a must. Free showers all around.
Marcoolinho — Google review
Wonderful to look at but AWFUL both for dogs and humans.. All pointy rocks and no access to the sea. Full of sea urchins. Very disappointed.

The Museum of Apoxyomenos, established in 2016 near Kvarner Palace, was built to showcase the Croatian Apoxyomenos statue. Visitors are provided with plastic "slippers" which must be worn throughout the museum. The museum features several rooms before reaching the main exhibit hall where the statue is displayed. Guests are closely monitored by staff to ensure that no photos are taken or physical contact occurs with the statue.
An amazing small museum about one exceptional statue. It is hard to imagine that someone can create such an interesting story for a single statue. The museum atmosphere is exceptional and the feeling you get once you enter the room with Apoxyomenos is hard to describe. There is a thrill to be standing so near to something older than 2000 years especially knowing it spent 2 centuries under the sea to be reveiled in such a glory. There is also a humility an insignificance I felt by closely observing something to which my world is just a fraction in its long existance. Please pay attention to the story in the first room and allow yourself enough time to read the text before reaching the white room. The signs on the toilet doors are very unique :)
Blazenka S — Google review
A truly impressive museum dedicated to a single statue — and yet, what an experience! The journey begins with the origin of the sculpture, follows its incredible discovery in the sea near Lošinj, and walks you through the meticulous restoration process. It all leads to the breathtaking white room, where the Apoxyomenos stands alone in silence and light — timeless, powerful, and deeply moving. What was once a common statue now feels like a messenger from the past. Creative, engaging, and absolutely worth the visit.
Nikola T — Google review
The Apoxyomenos Museum is the only European museum with only one exhibit and is definitely worth a visit. A bronze sculpture of a young and handsome athlete from the Hellenistic period, it is the most spectacular and valuable archaeological find on the eastern coast of the Adriatic. The statue was found at a depth of 45 meters underwater in the Lošinj archipelago. This is a Greek work of exceptional preservation and special beauty of execution. It is assumed that it dates back to the 2nd or 1st century BC. In addition, on the ground floor of the museum in the Kvarner Palace is the White Apoxyomenos - a replica of the statue of Apoxyomenos. It is a tactile sculpture intended for blind and visually impaired people. The White Apoxyomenos is 96 centimeters high with a 4 centimeter pedestal.
Blanka K — Google review
The Museum of Apoxyomenos is a highlight in Mali Lošinj and very easy to find right on the main promenade. I stopped in on a hot summer day and immediately appreciated the refreshing, cool interior. The museum is beautifully modern and centered around the unique discovery of the ancient Greek bronze statue of Apoxyomenos, which was found in the sea near Lošinj. The exhibitions are well organized, with clear explanations and a nice flow through the building. The architecture and design of the museum itself are also impressive. A perfect cultural stop while enjoying the island.
G W — Google review
The museum is definitely recommended and if you find yourself in Mali Losinj, you must visit it. It is an indescribable experience to stand a few centimeters away from a statue that dates back to the 1st or 2nd century BC. The museum is modern, with very interesting content, and the price of 15 EUR is definitely worth it, because with this ticket you can also visit the City Museum.
Hrvoje H — Google review
One of those museums where everything revolves around one exhibit. But that exhibit is admirable. After 2000 years under the sea, it was restored and presented in the museum, an honor only for it.... Definitely worth visiting and enjoying.
Krešimir J — Google review
The statue is beautiful but the attitude of the stuff was very humiliating. We were in the room with all the explanations and I was translating the written explanations to my 7 year daughter who was very interested, when a group with a guide entered and told us literally to shut up. We bought the tickets just like everyone and no-one warned us we are not aloud to talk to our children inside. And we were not extra loud or anything. I was really sorry we came at all
Manca V — Google review
A museum dedicated to one statue. Nice information but a little expensive. You can take a very close look at the Ancient Greek statue but only for 5 minutes, and you cannot take pictures. The ticket gives you the opportunity to visit one of three other Losinj museums.

Beaches
Krivica is a popular public beach on the island, characterized by its emerald-tinted and crystal-clear waters, making it ideal for swimming. The beach can be accessed through a 30-minute hike from the parking area, which may require appropriate footwear due to its difficulty. Nevertheless, visitors are rewarded with an idyllic and sheltered bay surrounded by pine trees upon arrival. There is ample space and shade available for relaxation purposes.
Very quiet and hidden place in Losinj Island. Path to the beach is really beautiful with a smell of the trees and sea. Sea was very clear and good for swimming. There were no crowd. But if you going to this beach from the mainland I would recommend going with shoes, as it will take half an hour to go to the beach and little more to climb back. Also equipped yourself with a water and food as there is no place close to buy it. During hot summer it is better to come to this beach by the boat.
Stefan — Google review
We visited Krivica Bay twice, first by boat last year, and this year we returned on foot. Unfortunately, the experience was quite different the second time around. Last year, we were amazed by the crystal-clear water and tranquil atmosphere. However, this time the bay was overcrowded with boats, and the sea was noticeably dirtier likely due to the increased number of boats and tourists not being mindful of their waste. I was also negatively surprised by the number of nudists on the beach, almost every person was naked. As for the hike, the trail is very steep and not suitable for children or anyone without proper hiking shoes. It’s quite a demanding walk, and in my opinion, not worth the effort given the current state of the bay. Krivica might still be a nice spot if you visit by boat early in the season or on a quiet day, but based on our recent experience, we were left disappointed.
Isidora P — Google review
Krivica bay is a hidden gem on the island of Losinj, often referred to as the "Croatian Maldives" for its stunning turquoise waters and secluded location. While it's accessible by boat, hiking down to the bay offers a more rewarding and immersive experience. Here's why you should consider hiking to Krivica bay: Breathtaking views: The hike takes you through a scenic trail lined with pine trees and diverse vegetation, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the bay and the surrounding coastline. Immerse yourself in nature: The path winds through lush greenery, allowing you to experience the beauty of the island's natural landscape firsthand. Keep an eye out for colorful wildflowers and unique plant life along the way. Sense of accomplishment: Reaching the secluded bay after a moderate hike adds to the sense of accomplishment and appreciation for the natural beauty that awaits. Tranquil escape: Once you arrive, you'll be greeted by the crystal-clear waters and serene atmosphere of Krivica bay, perfect for relaxation and swimming. Here are some additional tips for your visit: Wear comfortable shoes suitable for hiking on uneven terrain. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and water, especially during the summer months. The hike is moderately challenging, with some uphill sections. Be prepared for a 20-minute walk each way. Consider packing a picnic lunch to enjoy on the beach after your hike. Respect the natural environment and leave no trace behind. By following these tips and choosing to hike to Krivica bay, you're sure to have an unforgettable experience that goes beyond just visiting a beautiful beach.

Protected and silent bay with turquoise water. I went in by kayak. Nice experience.
Matiuwž — Google review
One of the best beaches in the island with clear like lake water. You can come here by a 30min hike (use shoes !!) The hike is not that easy but is totally worth it. There is plenty of space and shadow to relax and enjoy. The entrance in the water is rocky use swimming shoes or go to the dock to just jump in the water(as per photos).
Uroš J — Google review
Nice place with crystal clear water. ( Just go further by water and find best place to stay. ) when you arrive by foot, on your left its more touristy beach with trash bins etc. On the other ( right) side, there is place where all my photos of crystal clear water came from. Pine trees make your stay even more comfortable. Please be thoughtful and take your trash with you or at least to the bins on the other side. ( Touristy side bins was absolutely full. One thing: in the summer without water, just count with high temperatures and a lots of sweat. Way upside is pretty steep and you will test yourself a little.
Erik H — Google review
Honestly this beach has earned six of five stars. You can reach it by boat or car. The parking areas aren't next to the beach. If you go there by car you have to walk there for about 30 minutes twice. The landscape during the walk is unique.
Julian S — Google review
A wonderful quiet bay with crystal clear water. Best swim I had for years. Can only be accessed by ship or on foot (30 minute descent from the hills above), no paved road leading here. Shouldn't miss it if you have the chance.

Well kept garden, few animals live under poor conditions. Budgies in a very small cave, bunny living with turtles, a lonely donkey. The goats were in a pair at least. Shop sells handmade stuff, which looked ok but is sold at a high price. Restaurant offers food and drinks. The juice was delicious .

This restaurant was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing, and the service was simply perfect. The waitstaff were so friendly – we even shared a few laughs and had some private conversations during our meal, which made the experience feel personal and special. One waiter in particular, Martin, really stood out. His energy is just wonderful – I honestly think he’s one of the best waiters I’ve ever met. He made our evening unforgettable. The food? Outstanding. The risotto was creamy and delicious, and the pizza was perfectly crispy – juicy, fresh, and full of flavor. Everything we tasted was just excellent. Highly recommended – a truly wow-worthy experience!

We had a lovely lunch at Bocca Vera, right by the harbour in Mali Lošinj. The setting is beautiful, with a relaxed view over the boats. We started with beef carpaccio, octopus carpaccio and fresh scampi crudi — all very tasty and nicely presented. For mains, the spaghetti busara with scampi and the homemade ravioli with gamberi and ricotta were both excellent. The Kozlović Malvasia we chose was a perfect match. Friendly service and a great location made it a memorable stop.

We visited Tematski vidikovac Providenca as a couple with small kids and had an unforgettable evening at the Sunset Theatre. The picnic basket was beautifully prepared with delicious small bites, something sweet, and a great bottle of wine. Although it’s meant for two people, we had so much food that we couldn’t finish it all! A lovely surprise was the free, homemade lavender and elderflower juice – included in the ticket price and unlimited, which was perfect for the kids. Visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the island and town through exhibits crafted with care. The museum features an extensive collection of local artifacts and captivating old photographs that offer intriguing comparisons with present-day views.
If anyone is searching for books about Losinj. In English. Here they can find some. Mostly art related, but they also have one with history. Also kind staff at the entrance.

This beautiful little museum housed in a former palace in the heart of Mali Lošinj iz well worth a look if you are in the area. Unfortunately less appealing for small children.

After visiting this museum I felt like I understand the island and the town much better. Everything is made with heart. There is a lot of text to read but it's worth it. Wikipedia didn't have all of that valuable info. I loved the room with drawings where you can sit down and draw something yourself. It was very soothing.

Horrible experience. The waiters were very unprofessional and slow. The whole time we felt unsafe. Not to mention we waited for more than half an hour for expensive not edible cocktails. Some guy filmed my friend dancing, the DJ only played horrible music by his choice not taking any music requests. DON'T VISIT!!

people were weird and ugly no hot men whatsoever also the staff was rude and extremely disrespectful and it was so not a vibe when we felt unsafe and everyone saw people watching us weirdly no one even lifted a finger and acted as if it was nothing so it was a bad bad experience. my friend got scammed and got a sparkling water instead of still water and almost threw up later. AND he had to buy it.

Service was lack luster to say the least. Ordered 3 times and 3 times the order was wrong. Cash only, but not listed as such anywhere. Only saving value was the wine we got but didn't order was ok and the people watching was nice along the port. Recommemdation, pick another place.

Actually the only bar where party mood comes up directly at the harbor. Nice interior and the drinks were also ok. There are a hell lot of "kids" there, but does not hurt the party atmosphere. Nestled in a quiet side street near the Apoksiomen Museum, Restaurant Za Kantuni offers a tranquil escape from the bustling waterfront of Mali Losinj. With over 100 seats available on its terrace and indoors, this charming spot welcomes guests year-round. The menu features an array of Mediterranean flavors, including fresh seafood delicacies paired with fine Croatian wines. Visitors can savor delectable fish dishes and pastas while enjoying the pleasant ambiance of the restaurant's terrace.
This tiny restaurant in the very centre of Mali Losinj is excelent. There is a great choice of typical Croatian food and somenting new too. The service is good as well as the atmosphere. We really suggest it

Restaurant Za Kantuni completely blew me away. The food here isn’t just good - it’s a full-on explosion of flavors. I went for the black gnocchi with smoked tuna and mussels in a rich tomato sauce, and honestly, I wouldn't change a single thing. Every bite was a perfect balance of textures and taste. The service? Attentive, friendly, and professional without being over the top—exactly what you'd hope for. If you're visiting Mali Lošinj, make sure you don’t skip this place. Huge recommendation from me!
Tomislav I — Google review
We had the opportunity to dine at Za Kantuni several times, but every time our eyes were quicker than the camera — we never managed to capture the beautiful dishes before they disappeared! The overall atmosphere, interior, and staff are all exceptional. You immediately feel at home. Everyone went out of their way to make our Sunday lunch truly wonderful. For starters, we ordered boškarin carpaccio (Istrian cattle), beautifully seasoned and served with toasted homemade focaccia. For the warm starters, we had a rich porcini mushroom soup and beef broth — everything was perfectly warm, flavorful, and authentically homemade. For the main course, we enjoyed red mullet with Swiss chard and potato, fried calamari, and I had boškarin tagliata with roasted vegetables. The meat was perfectly cooked, tender, delicious, and delicately seasoned with aceto. There is no doubt this is one of the best restaurants we’ve ever eaten at. Many thanks to the staff, chefs, and the owner for such a warm welcome. Highly recommended!

The restaurant offers an extraordinary experience on the Adriatic. The turbot we tried was among the best we've ever had – perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The waitress was exceptionally kind and attentive, which added to our overall sense of comfort throughout the evening. The bread was excellent, fresh, and tasty, while the mussels were incredibly fresh. To top it off, they even gave us complimentary rakija. The prices are absolutely reasonable, making this place ideal for anyone looking for a top-notch meal at affordable prices. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Za Kantuni – A timeless gem in Mali Lošinj Za Kantuni is one of those places where history, tradition, and genuine hospitality come together beautifully. The setting itself is charming, with a lovely interior full of character and spacious shaded terraces that make it perfect for a long, relaxed meal. The food is rooted in local tradition but elevated by the freshness of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen. We especially enjoyed the handmade scampi pasta—rich, delicate, and full of flavor—as well as the octopus carpaccio, which was fresh and perfectly prepared. The wine list is well chosen, featuring great local options to complement the dishes. Service was superb throughout—professional yet warm, which really made the experience memorable. This is a historic and truly special restaurant, and in our view, one of the must-visit places in Mali Lošinj. A place not to miss

Wonderful restaurant! We came as a large group, and even though there was only one chef in the kitchen, he managed everything perfectly. The service was extremely friendly and attentive, which made us feel truly welcome. The dishes were outstanding – flavorful beef broth, fresh calamari, and perfectly cooked fish, all absolutely delicious. Definitely worth recommending, and the prices are very fair for the quality we received.

A Gastronomic Journey at Za Kantuni: Flavorful Starters and Beyond Our delightful detour at Za Kantuni in Mali Losinj was an unforgettable experience. What started as a casual exploration quickly transformed into a feast for the senses, thanks to their commitment to fresh, local ingredients and impeccable service. The moment we stepped in, the friendly staff made us feel welcome, setting the tone for a memorable evening. Our culinary adventure began with a diverse selection of starters, each showcasing the restaurant's dedication to quality and local flair. The beef tartare was a revelation - finely chopped with just the right touch of seasoning, it teased our taste buds with its rich, meaty flavor. The beef & donkey salami offered a unique and savory experience, while the octopus carpaccio presented a stunning display of delicate texture and vibrant freshness. Each bite was a testament to Za Kantuni's commitment to using the best possible ingredients. But the true stars of the show were the main courses. The fresh catch seabass arrived cooked to perfection, its natural sweetness and flaky texture a celebration of the Adriatic Sea's bounty. Every mouthful was a testament to the skill of the kitchen, showcasing the inherent deliciousness of fresh seafood. However, the undisputed champion of the night was the Pljukanci with boskarin beef. The homemade pasta, crafted with tender love, offered a delightful textural contrast to the rich, flavorful beef sauce. It was a truly remarkable dish, easily one of the most memorable pasta experiences I've ever had. Beyond the delectable food, the exceptional service deserves its own applause. The staff at Za Kantuni were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they served. They took the time to answer our questions and offer recommendations, adding a personal touch that elevated the dining experience. Leaving Za Kantuni, we knew we had stumbled upon a culinary gem. It's not just a restaurant; it's a place where tradition meets modern culinary artistry, resulting in dishes that are both innovative and deeply satisfying. The combination of fresh, local ingredients, skilled cooking, and warm hospitality makes Za Kantuni a must-visit for anyone exploring Mali Losinj. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and a promise to return for another incredible culinary adventure! Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Restaurant Rosemary in Mali Losinj receives excellent service from Mario, the best waiter so far. The location is wonderful, offering a pleasant garden view for diners. However, the gastronomy receives three stars as the Chef's set was okay but slightly overpriced. It is recommended to try dishes such as tuna tartare, pasta with truffles, and dessert. Unfortunately, the main dish of scorpion fish had a bitter flavor due to improper cleaning of the gall bladder.

Restaurant Rosemary is a wonderful place to enjoy a memorable meal. From the moment you arrive, the staff makes you feel welcome with attentive and friendly service that never feels rushed. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, creating the perfect setting for a special evening out or a casual dinner with friends. The highlight of the menu is without a doubt the fresh fish. Every dish is prepared with care, and the flavors are bright, clean, and deeply satisfying. You can taste the freshness in every bite, which sets it apart from so many other restaurants. Another standout is the olive oil, which is rich, fragrant, and absolutely delicious—it elevates everything it touches, from simple bread to the seafood itself. Did not stay in the apartments. Had the 4-course Chefs Dinner for €55 per person with a bottle of Pinot Gris (Kolaric 2023, €28) and some cocktails (€14) Positives; - Lovely setting, the forest was unlinke anything we’ve seen in Krk. - Atmosphere was good - Chairs were perfect, good lumbar support! I have some back issues so it’s important for me haha - Amazing extra viergine olive oil from Croatia - Great wine - Great bread - Chef’s dinner was 4/5 stars, bit on the fatty-side. Nothing light on the stomach. Taste-wise it was good. - Service and communication with the staff was amazing! Big big compliments to them. Their mixologist is very knowledgeable and informative, do ask him about the olive oil! He also helped me make my own cocktail that suited my pallet. Incredible. Cons; - Pricey cocktails, even compared to Amsterdam… Could be because it was “off-menu”, I did not see a cocktail menu despite their extensive liquor collection. Cocktails listed at “special offer”. - Toilet down the stairs and not part of the restaurant it seems? Overall; Highly recommended.

Steak house
Diana Steakhouse Restaurant is a culinary gem nestled in the stunning Cikat Bay of Losinj Island. The restaurant boasts a large summer terrace with breathtaking views of the bay, creating an idyllic setting to savor delectable dishes and fine wines amidst the fragrant aroma of Mediterranean herbs. While renowned for its premium aged steaks sourced from Croatian producers and around the world, Diana also offers an array of fresh local fish, seafood, and handmade pasta.
As someone who's spent years writing about and reviewing restaurants (yes, foremr editor here! , I usually keep my thoughts to myself. But Diana Steakhouse in Mali Lošinj is different - it's a place I find myself returning to time and time again, both for lunch and dinner throughout the season. And let me tell you, not once have I left feeling anything less than completely satisfied. I've visited enough restaurants to know that consistency is rare, but Diana manages to deliver excellence every single time. Their focus is crystal clear: exceptionally high-quality meat, perfectly aged steaks, and burgers that redefine what a proper burger should taste like. What sets them apart isn't just the quality of their steaks (though they're remarkable), but the unwavering standard they maintain whether you're dropping in for a casual lunch or celebrating with a special dinner. The restaurant's terrace offers a dining experience that feeds not just your appetite but your soul - with breathtaking views over the stunning Čikat Bay. There's something magical about enjoying a perfectly cooked steak while overlooking the crystal-clear waters and ancient pine trees that embrace the bay. This isn't the kind of stuffy steakhouse that takes itself too seriously. Instead, it's a place where the quality speaks for itself, where the staff's expertise and genuine warmth make every visit memorable, and where the stars of the show - those amazing steaks and mouthwatering burgers - never disappoint. Whether you're craving a perfectly cooked ribeye or one of their juicy, expertly crafted burgers, Diana delivers every single time, all while treating you to one of the most beautiful views in the Adriatic. Cheers!

Excellent service, beautiful seaside tables in a nice garden feeling. Had the burger (16€ with fries), Ribeye steak (28€ with side and sauce of choice included), two homemade soups as appetizers and the lava cake for dessert. Everything was very good, steak and burger were delicious. The service was one of the best we experienced on the island, attentive and kind staff, offered us blankets when it got chilly, and shared local facts about the food. Good quality for price for Lošinj restaurants compared to other places we visited this week (May 2025) The olive oil served at each table was local and really good!

The first day I had Manestra soup, it was delicious, but they forgot the pancetta. The ravioli were the best I've ever eaten. The second day we didn't get olive oil for the bread and plates with the soup. The burger was quite soggy, but good. The third day I had Manestra soup again, but it wasn't good at all. The tuna was well done on one side, completely overcooked on the other. No one liked the beans. I have very mixed feelings about this restaurant.

Wonderful staff and service, Michelin-worthy food and a great atmosphere with a beautiful view of the sea. My husband and I enjoyed our dinner so much Friday evening that we returned tonight and have also booked a table for tomorrow. Everything is very fresh and made to order. A definite recommendation for a lovely evening of quality food and service.

Blue World Institute, located in Veli Losinj, is a marine education center that offers interactive and multimedia presentations focusing on endangered marine organisms like sea turtles and marine mammals. The institute also provides thrilling dolphin-watching tours with knowledgeable guides who are dedicated to marine conservation and education. Visitors can learn about dolphins, turtles, and the institute's story while having the opportunity to adopt a dolphin symbolically.
My experience with Blue World the dolphin watching institute in Veli Lošinj was nothing short of amazing! The tour was not only informative but also incredibly thrilling. The knowledgeable guides went above and beyond to ensure we had a chance to spot these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. The boat was comfortable enough and offered great visibility for dolphin sightings. What truly sets this institute apart is their dedication to marine conservation and education. I left the tour with a newfound appreciation for the incredible marine life in the Adriatic. It's not just a tour; it's an opportunity to connect with nature and support important conservation efforts. If you're in Veli Lošinj, don't miss this opportunity to witness the beauty of dolphins and support a great cause. This was an experience I'll cherish for a lifetime!
Nikola N — Google review
Overall, I recommend the tour, but I suggest planning to stay on the island for an extra 2-3 days. This way, if you don’t see any dolphins, you’ll have time to take advantage of the free return trip offer. The dolphin watching tour had potential, but there were a few aspects that left us disappointed. For the first hour, we encountered quite rough waves, about 2 meters high, which made some passengers, including my partner, quite anxious. A few comforting words from the skipper would have been appreciated, though I understand that’s a personal preference. I also believe that the weather conditions weren’t ideal for dolphin spotting. The rough seas likely made it difficult, and in hindsight, the skipper and crew should have considered calling off the trip and rescheduling. I’m not an expert, but after seeing photos from other reviews and talking to our AirBnB host, it seems clear that calmer seas are necessary for a better experience. Additionally, the communication after the tour was lacking. We weren’t clearly informed about the option for a free trip if no dolphins were spotted, which was only mentioned discreetly. During the tour, the commentary was minimal—after the initial presentation, it felt like we were just on a three-hour boat ride, staring at the ocean in silence. Some ongoing information about the dolphins, the environment, and the areas we were navigating would have made the experience more engaging, even if we didn’t see any dolphins! Overall, the trip could have been better with more communication and interaction from the crew.

Nice little place to come and see details about dolphins, turtles and the story of the institute. They offer amazing trips for dolphin watching (family price is discounted) it lasts 3h and you go by a speedboat. You can adopt a dolphin each year, symbolically, you get certificate and have great memory. Young people work there and they are very kind and helpful.

Public bath
Borik beach is a highly recommended seaside spot for both adults and children, boasting ample sunshine and impressive waves that vary depending on wind conditions. Though shaded areas may be limited, the beach compensates with its pleasant atmosphere. Parking can be a challenge as it tends to fill up quickly, requiring visitors to leave their cars at a distance. This little gem offers convenient access and free parking, although it can get crowded with people vying for proximity to the water—though early mornings are generally peaceful.
Nice little beach with nice entrance and free parking. Can get a little crowded by people trying to be as closest to the beach, but in the morning is fine. Take snorkling gear as there are lots of fishes.

Well equipped beach with showers and changing cabines. Free parking and the best view. The beach is big enough and not so much people on it.

Really good beach with a lot of sunshine and big waves depending on the actual wind situation. Good choice for adults and children as well. (There is no too much place where you can sit in the shadow) you need to leave the car a bit far, since there is no too much place for parking and it was always full.

Plaža Vale Škura is a stunning beach nestled in a picturesque cove, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. While the rocky terrain may pose a challenge for some, there is a designated area that allows for easier access to the inviting waters—just remember to bring your water slippers! Despite its proximity to the road, the tranquil ambiance remains undisturbed by traffic noise. This serene spot offers an idyllic escape with only the soothing sounds of crickets filling the air.
The beach is beautiful, as is the entire nature around it. Although it is rocky it has a section for easier and gradual entry into the water, but it would be good to have water slippers. Although the beach is located near the road, you can't hear cars passing by.

If you're looking for an unforgettable adventure, look no further than Dolphin Watching Losinj! This incredible tour offers a three-hour journey across the stunning waters of Veli Losinj, where you can spot playful dolphins in their natural habitat. With a knowledgeable skipper like Karlo at the helm, you'll not only zip through the waves on a sleek speedboat but also learn fascinating facts about dolphin behavior and how to identify signs of their presence.
My boyfriend and I went on a dolphin-watching tour, and we had an amazing time. The skipper and the host were extremely kind and helpful. The program lasts three hours, giving everyone a chance to spot dolphins, but we were lucky enough to see them within the first 45 minutes! We spotted about 15 dolphins at the same time—it was incredible. It was almost sunset, so the water looked stunning, and the dolphins were so cute and very close to us. It was truly an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much again!
Vivien K — Google review
What an amazing, unforgettable experience! Wow! Karlo and team made the excursion so relaxing. As an animal lover, I particularly appreciated how respectful they are of the wildlife and how knowledgeable they are. I would highly recommend booking a tour, it completes a trip to Veli Losinj.

The dolphin tour was absolutely wonderful! The scenery was breathtaking, and we were thrilled to spot at least 10 dolphins during the trip. Karlo was fantastic—his expertise in locating them made the experience even more special. A big thank you as well to everyone at ASL Agency; they were incredibly helpful and delivered an unforgettable tour that I’ll cherish for a long time.

Wonderful experience, magical. We bumped into a family of dolphins just after 30 minutes. Carlo was a great guide, very knowledgeable and very respectful of the environment, a true passionate person that is key for this kind of experiences. Definitely recommended

A great experience! For this tour I would dare to say that seeing these magnificent animals in the wild is just a massive plus. The entire boat ride is packed with great scenery of Lošinj and Cres archipelago. By the time you find the dolphins, you’re already joyful. Seeing them only highlights the emotion :) All in all - highly recommended!
Leo B — Google review
We had a blast zipping across the sea on a sleek speedboat, taking in the amazing views around Veli Losinj while searching for dolphins. Our skipper, Karlo, really made the trip special. He grew up here and knows the waters like the back of his hand. On top of being a great captain, he shared so many cool facts about dolphins—their behavior, how they interact in groups, and even tips on spotting signs that they might be around. You could tell he’s genuinely passionate about protecting them and making sure the tours are respectful. And then came the highlight—we spotted a small group of about five dolphins cruising along together, totally relaxed. Watching them move so gracefully in their natural habitat was absolutely amazing! Big thanks to the Dolphin Watching Losinj team for such an incredible afternoon out! If you’re visiting Losinj, this experience is a must!

If you're looking for a heartwarming experience during your travels, the Sea Turtle Rescue Centre is a must-visit, especially for families with children. Nestled just above the beach and accessible via stairs between two hotels, this center is dedicated to rehabilitating turtles that have fallen victim to fishing nets or plastic debris. Visitors can witness the inspiring work being done here, including observing turtles that are on the verge of being released back into their natural habitat after receiving care.
Great job! The place is neatly kept and offers plenty of information. The day we visited there were two turtles, one was recovering from pneumonia and almost ready for release, while a smaller one had been found with the frontal limbs cut perhaps from a boat or a net. They explained this smaller one would probably go to an aquarium where it would be taken care of for the rest of its life♥️

However, visitors should note that additional fees may apply for sunbeds and lockers.
A beautiful and well kept water park fit for kids and grownups of all ages. Plenty of shade and relatively cheap entrance fees mean we’ll be back here for sure. The park offers a fast food restaurant with solid options and a great pool bar, where you can grab a beer in the pool while the kids are enjoying themselves. The bathrooms are very clean, as is the rest of the park, and the staff is very nice across the board. One of the most beautiful beaches of the Losinj Island. No facilities though and not that easy to reach (car (SUV only?) + walking 2-3 min). There are few beautiful villas just above the beach, in a pine forest. It is very clean and the sea is crystal clear. Recommended!

My partner and I had an incredible time at Zabodarski Beach on the island of Lošinj, undoubtedly the most beautiful beach we’ve visited there. The crystal-clear turquoise water is breathtaking, perfect for swimming and soaking in the serene surroundings. The beach is nestled among lush pine trees, offering plenty of shade for a comfortable day under the sun. Its quiet, tranquil vibe makes it a true hidden gem, far from crowded tourist spots. It’s also conveniently close to the small Lošinj Airport, where you can spot amazing planes taking off and landing, adding a unique charm to the experience. The airport’s air traffic control tower stands out with its distinctive design, featuring a stone base typical of the beautiful stonework seen across Croatia. The only minor challenge was the access—we parked about 500 meters away near the woods and took a scenic path through the forest, which felt like an adventure but was a bit of a walk. There might be other parking options or routes we didn’t discover, but the effort was absolutely worth it for this pristine paradise. Zabodarski Beach is a must-visit for anyone seeking a peaceful, natural retreat with a touch of local charm! 10/10 🤍

Nice quiet beach. I recommend early arrival. Not the best for families, but the best if you want to escape from civilization. The place to relax.

Agroturizam - Miomirisni otočki vrt is a delightful escape nestled in the heart of Veli Lošinj, just a short stroll from the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This enchanting Mediterranean garden is best experienced during spring or early summer when vibrant flowers are in full bloom. Visitors can wander along charming pathways named after fragrant plants like "Lavender Way" and "Salvia Way.
Excellent, accommodation in a super isolated facility, you almost don't need air conditioning. Close to the beach, easy 3 minute walk to the beautiful natural beach. Hospitable hosts, pleasant, grilled fish is perfection👌🏽

It's a nice family-owned place. We had some nice vine and grilled lamb. The portions were big and everything was tasty. When we visited it was the only thing available but we did not mind. It's a bit pricey but worth the money. The atmosphere is cozy. If you visit during summer be sure to call and book a table. They have a beautiful herb garden and some small animals like a sheep, a bunny, and a few goats. There is small parking available for guests.

Our apartment for the holiday was near and I heard the sound of a donkey, which I followed one morning. It led me to this cute place with the aromatic garden and restaurant. The donkey was very cute, even played with a ball. The garden is very nice and calm with a lots of plants. The service at the restaurant was very good, and the food too! We had a really good time here! Thank you!

Lovely!!! Definitely worth a visit! As there is free entrance I recommend to buy something small from their shop as your support. Sandra and team are doin' everything from their heart.
Uri K — Google review
A truly charming hidden gem where you’re welcomed with warmth and genuine hospitality. You sit surrounded by blooming flowers and fragrant herbs, creating a dreamy, peaceful atmosphere. The food is of outstanding quality, perfectly paired with delicious wine 🤌 I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

This was our third visit and potentially it was an off night. We’ve had 2 previous 5* visits in years past but this week it was a plate of 2 excellent pieces of lamb and 3 scraggy ends. The red wine also tasted like red wine vinegar but as I say, hopefully an off night because we’ve had a truly wonderful time here previously

Miomirisni Vrt is the true gem of Lošinj. 🌿 With more than 250 local plants, a lovely shop of island-made products, and a small family-run restaurant serving delicious meals from homegrown ingredients, it’s where nature, tradition, and hospitality meet. The garden is full of scents, stories, and details of Lošinj’s past. In the shop you’ll find oils, teas, herbs, liqueurs, perfumes, and even pine syrup – natural products that also support health and well-being. The family who runs it is warm, welcoming, and very knowledgeable, making every visitor feel at home. Entrance is free, the place is animal-friendly 🐶, and everything is authentically made on the island. 👉 A must-visit for anyone coming to Lošinj.

Whole place is phenomenal, beauty of nature, plants, animals (12 tortoises are so funny and cute), reception and foood. Food was awesome, local dish with all the ingredients being prepared just as they should. Big recommendation for Miomirisni Vrt and everything that goes with it. 👍🏻❤️

Nice beach, easy to parking near the beach…trees to tier your hammock…..or Sun umbrellas, sunbeds, shower, refreshments, public bathrooms ..nice location.. (early-September).. quiet…and especially to spend a day with kids!!

I really enjoyed this quiet and beautiful beach, a true little gem in Veli Lošinj. The water here is crystal clear, perfect for a refreshing swim, and the whole area has a calm and relaxing vibe. While staying nearby, I walked by it every day and always appreciated its peaceful charm. A lovely spot to spend some quiet time by the sea

Nice beach near Mali Losinj, the water is clear. There is a shop to buy ice cream, beer and stuff like this. The beach can be reached by car easily. The only thing that i don't like is that it is shaded during the afternoon.
Cucu A — Google review
Typical beach for this part of Adriatic sea - high salinity, perfectly transparent water. smell of pines and figs, and their natural shade to relax in. The only minus is that the rocks at the access to the sea are quite sharp and I highly advise having some footware suitable for swimming when you are comming to this beach.
Vladimir G — Google review
Nice beach where you have the choice to go to the pebbles beach where there is a shop for snacks and drinks, or to find your own more wild spot around the area. The water is transparent. Perfect place to chill under the sun.

Monte Baston is a stunning destination that beckons hikers and nature lovers alike. Stretching over 12 km, the scenic walkway begins at Bay Borik and meanders through Sunny Bay, Mali Losinj, Silver Bay, and Golden Bay before culminating at this impressive peak. The trail is well-marked and easily accessible from both Mali Losinj city and Cikat peninsula.
Nice short hike (10-15 minutes), seemed like 5 minutes to me 😎. At the end you are welcomed by a breathtaking view 🏞

Easy to hike, beautifull path with such amazing smells of the pine trees and also the view on top siting on a bench is also very nice.

Great view!! Especially during sunset. Short hike from camping site.

Spot with beautiful panoramic view. It used to be military shelter and ruins can still be seen at the top. Easy acccessible on foot from city Mali Lošinj or from Čikat peninsula.

Always peaceful, many trails for hiking and MTB. The best start point to explore the whole area is from holliday home Villa Macaklin.

Public beach
Plaža Sv. Martin is a charming bay with small pebble beaches and dog-friendly areas. The area offers lovely rocks and grass near the sea, providing various spots to relax by the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic Sea. The calm sea is perfect for swimming, as it's sheltered from weather between two headlands. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as a restaurant in the port and a snack shack next to the beach.
This is an awesome little beach. It's all large rocks so take a roll mat to lay on if you're precious about that sort of thing but it's quiet and the water is crystal clear. The sea is very calm as it's protected from the weather between two headlands so you can happily swim out up to 50m from the shore. There's a restaurant in the little port and a snack shack next to the beach. Definitely in the top 5 beaches I've ever been to.
Tristan H — Google review
🟢 The beach has a LOT of shade. Whenever you come you'll be able to find a spot with a lot of shade. 🟡 Be careful if you come in the afternoon, the whole beach is in shade and it can get cold for small children. 🔴 The beach is not small kids friendly. There is only one small part for small kids, and when I say small, I mean "15 meters long" small. Also it has steps so be wary if you have a stroller. And since it is so small it can get very crowded. 🟢 Other parts are nice but they are on the rocks and you enter the sea via ladder. 🔴 No official parking. 🟢 There is a free shower. 🟢 No sea urchins. 🟢 There is a pub at the beach.
