Beverley Minster stands as a stunning testament to the rich history and architectural beauty of Beverley, an enchanting town in East Yorkshire. Originally built around the tomb of John, Bishop of York, this Anglican church has been a significant religious site since Anglo-Saxon times. The Minster is renowned for its impressive collection of musician stone carvings and the ancient Percy Tomb, showcasing exquisite medieval artistry. Beyond its historical significance, Beverley offers visitors a delightful array of attractions.
A stunning piece of heritage and fab example of gothic architecture. I can’t believe I’ve never been in before. A particular point which piqued my interest was the organ! Not enormous, but very glamorous to look at the pipes. Very friendly community welcoming you in and eager to show you around. There was a bake sale on when I visited too 😋
Carole P — Google review
A very interesting place to visit. Much of the large Parish church rather than the splendour of the great monasteries. The people were very friendly and told us what they knew, at some length. I was really impressed by this Church.
Baloo B — Google review
Free of charge to visit but they welcome donations to support the upkeep of the minster. Beautiful church with plenty of history and information as you walk round Guided tours available and even a tour of the roof (views) is available. Well worth visiting give your self a good hour to walk round and see everything
Simon K — Google review
Beautiful minster with a very warm welcome. As with all these types of places there's plenty of unique features to keep you interested. The town of Beverley also has a great vibe with a good mix of shops and cafes.
Arron N — Google review
Uncrowded, warm welcome, helpful info. A delight with so much to see with many obvious features and so many hidden stories to discover. May be lesser known than other cathedrals but up there with York and Westminster!
John P — Google review
Beautiful church.. Architecture was stunning outside. Disappointed it was closed when I arrived. Being set up for an antiques fare.
John M — Google review
A wonderful minister full of history inside and out that often gets used for many TV series and films. Also it's free to looks around but people are asked to make a donation if they wish

St Mary's Church in Beverley is a historic gem with a rich architectural history. Built as a sister to Beverley Minster, it underwent continuous construction from 1120 to 1530, resulting in a unique blend of styles that earned it Grade listed status. The church boasts stunning features such as the 14th-century north aisle and the sublime late-14th century west front.
A nice, friendly and warm church. Although overshadowed by the Minster it is less formal and probably earlier. The miserychords are interesting in that they appear to be of the Ripon school. The ceiling above is lovely too. Very well worth a visit.
Jerry W — Google review
Another lovely church in Beverley. Well worth a look for the art displays that they often have on and the ceiling of the church is an artwork in itself! The outside of the building is also beautiful although there appear to be a lot of restoration works going on at the moment so I'm not sure when it's open and when it isn't. There's also a little play room with toys and books in the crypt for any younger visitors! The hall next to the church also hosts a fantastic play group (Allsorts) on a Friday morning from 9:30 am
Sasha O — Google review
A superb setting for my partners rock choir concert last night. They sounded great due to its size and acoustics.
John A — Google review
Fabulous church with loads of interesting history. Moving on, still a vibrant, busy, friendly church today.
Heather E — Google review
So happy with how our wedding turned out with Becky on 7.8.25! Communication right throughout was so easy and nothing was too much of an ask. We would recommend to everyone! So professional and literally perfect!! The church is beautiful and speaks for itself! And the bell ringers made it magical too! Thank you so much! Love Chelsea and Ross xxx
Chelsea C — Google review
If you're in Beverly for the Minster you should also visit this smaller but very beautiful gothic style church. I liked the wooden misericords
Tina J — Google review
Lovely church with well informed welcomers. One of very few churches that are growing in numbers, with 4 Sunday services to cater for all worship types, plus a mid-week, spoken service every Thursday.
Allan B — Google review
Beautiful church, built in the 1200s. It's still in service and from the outside you can tell it has quite a story. Took over 400 years to build, and the beauty of it's architecture is like no other. They offer a map of the place and tourist guides as well, and all the people at the church were very friendly and open to conversation!

Nature & Parks
Beverley Westwood is a stunning expanse of open parkland located on the western edge of Beverley, offering breathtaking views of the town. This picturesque area is perfect for families looking to enjoy a day outdoors, with its lush meadows and serene woods providing an ideal backdrop for leisurely strolls or picnics. In the summer, you might even spot grazing cattle adding to the pastoral charm.
Area of outstanding beauty. Woodland and hills, pasture areas it feels magical also spiritual. Feel a sense of being haunted with whispering trees and deep depths of the woods. Amazing nature
Sophia H — Google review
Parking is very tricky. There are free roaming cows who are not shy. It is a great big space, ideal place for exercising your dog. Not much else going on other than the Black Mill.
Richard G — Google review
We had a lovely walk with our dog, seats are available to rest on and take in the views. Also the was an extremely nice street vendor selling very tasty burgers and excellent coffee for after our walk. The area is peaceful and dog friendly, plenty of open space for young humans to run around too.
Stuart C — Google review
Great place to spend a day with family take a picnic and a ball play in the woods
Trina C — Google review
Great place to walk the dog. Wide open spaces between local roads. Feels very safe for dogs and owners alike. Walk amongst the grazing cows and local wildlife, with small wooded areas at top and bottom ro explore too.
Garry M — Google review
Excellent day out at the races and also a round of golf at Yorkshire's elite and oldest Beverly GC. Don't know what the Gryphon means?
Robert G — Google review
great place to visit, Ideal for dog walking, plenty of parking, 5 minutes from Beverly town centre.plenty of pasture for walking enjoy !
Tony H — Google review
The Beverley Westwood has everything you could wish for and is a great local asset. It constantly changes with the seasons so always lots to see: the bluebells, the cows, Burton Bushes (ancient woodland), the Black Mill… Great for dog walking, picnics (no barbecues please) and sledging in winter. There’s a golf course over a substantial area and the Beverley Racecourse down one side. It’s also used for various other activities including Nordic Pole Walking and the ParkRun-the Grammar School even uses it for Cross Country.

Horse Tracks
Beverley Racecourse has a rich history dating back over 300 years and is considered one of the top tracks in the country for horse racing. The traditional Ladies Day is a standout event, offering an opportunity to dress up and enjoy an exciting day with friends. Additionally, the town's diverse architectural heritage can be explored through its landmark buildings, pubs, hospitals, railway stations, industrial sites, theaters, and more. Beverley in 50 Buildings provides insight into the town's evolution over time.
If you have the time. Get yourself down there it’s a great day out for all the family.
Darren S — Google review
Brilliant day out. Everything was so easy. Can put bets on, go to the bar for food drinks with now big queue at the Rapid Lad Bar. Getting in and out was doddle as the parking was sorted. Sun was shining racing was brilliant and a few winners We’ll definitely be back again
Alan F — Google review
an excellent venue for both racing and events. The atmosphere on race days is lively and well organized, with great facilities and friendly staff who make everything run smoothly. I’ve also attended their Bavarian Party and other themed events, which were full of fun, music, and great energy. The venue manages to balance the excitement of horse racing with the enjoyment of social events perfectly. It’s a clean, welcoming place with plenty of space, good food, and a great crowd. Always a pleasure to visit, whether for racing or a special occasion.
Nirmal C — Google review
Wonderful, historic racecourse with good facilities and lovely staff. Notices should be added to the grandstand to prevent groups from "saving" unoccupied seats for friends and family. Racegoers might have paid for a "Premier" ticket but they haven't paid for their own seat.
S F — Google review
Great family day out. Beverley offer lots of extra events and the gruffalo experience was great for all the family.
MrNFry — Google review
I couldn't agree more with reviewer S F ....... Fantastic course with very impressive staff, however, the management should not allow people to 'save' seats for other people. It's unfair on the customers that get there earlier to enjoy the meeting.
Stu M — Google review
Country night was awesome ! Well set out and organised. Only thing that it down was the security staff who acted as if they were the Police with unnecessary questions.
Martin O — Google review
Another fantastic time again seen the Fox Hunters plenty of photos I believe everyone should come there I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I never believed that I will come back to this place again but I have it was better than last year it seems like it gets better every year and that be great, the group of people who came to stop the fox hunting well peace and quiet

Beverley Guildhall is a stunning landmark that dates back to the 15th century, steeped in history and charm. Today, it functions not only as an events venue but also houses the Beverley Community Museum, showcasing the area's rich heritage.
Lovely historical building with many interesting items and areas to explore, nice interactive elements and was given a great orientation to the spaces by Jill! 👍

Amazing really. Good interesting place use. To be the old court and apparently there are the old cells under the Guildhall but. Have now been blocked off but. Still the bars show. This building is known to be haunted. 😊 Really good building recommend going. Really. Interesting
Giovanni S — Google review
Brilliant interesting view of Beverley and it's history through time. Lovely staff also. Well worth a visit.
Simon C — Google review
Free admission. Only open on Wednesdays and Fridays. Grade 1 listed building. Dates from 1320. The courtroom has a real wow factor, its Rococo style stucco ceiling was done by Giuseppe Cortese in the 18th century. It is a quite stunning, very elegant building and worth going to see. The courtroom is the jewel in the crown, but there are two other rooms upstairs and more rooms downstairs exhibiting local history and information. The two Doric columns supporting the public gallery in the courtroom were designed for Beverley Minster originally. Glad it was open when I visited, as hadn't been here before on previous visits.

Beverley Saturday Market is a historic and vibrant community of local traders, offering a wide range of products from fresh local produce to clothing and hardware. Located at Market Place, it features 100 unique stalls and dates back centuries, making it one of Beverley's biggest tourist attractions. The market is held in the town center on Wednesdays and Saturdays, attracting thousands of shoppers each week.
Absolutely fantastic, historical town.. Always worth a visit very popular.. Many fine dining spots, great bars and amazing race course.
Lee R — Google review
Such a shame storm Bertie was the cause of the Saturday market closing early. It was cold, wet and windy, not the best market conditions. That said Beverley has an amazing number of shops, both big name and independent which made shopping a pleasure. The Minster and St Mary's are well worth a visit, truly magnificent buildings.
Lyn S — Google review
We had never visited the area however thoroughly enjoyed our stop off at Beverley. No market today but parking spaces were available. Great shops. Best selection I've seen in a long time. Plenty of eateries and places to stay. Lots of independent shops. We would return 👍
Jacqueline M — Google review
A great open market and lots of shops. This is not connected to Flemgate carpark, but a few minutes walk from Beverley Minster. You have plenty of sitting areas. Also lots of places to eat and drink.
Alan G — Google review
Lovely open market town with interesting shops & nice places to eat. A great shame that pavements have dog urine every few feet. Please someone invent something to help this increasingly, unsanitary problem!
Katherine L — Google review
Had a run out as we popped into Hull, Beverley was a surprise, didn't think it was going to be as big as it was, the market was fantastic, lots of different stalls, great bargains to be had, even very bespoke items too

Nice little town. With its own Minster.Enough shops to entertain with its own Weatherspoons. A must go is the white horse pub ..pretty old and stills runs on gaslight! The star of Beverley is the 'Beverley Arms hotel'. Simply superb.Friendly professional staff.Superb food. A tad expensive but you get what you pay for and this was a rare treat.

Beverley Beck is a delightful destination that caters to both fishing enthusiasts and dog walkers, offering a serene environment for leisurely strolls. This picturesque 3/4-mile canal, which dates back to its completion in 1731, provides a flat and paved path perfect for those seeking comfort while exploring nature. As you wander along the beck, you'll be greeted by charming lily pads and the lively antics of local wildlife such as ducks and moorhens.
A lovely short walk with plenty of ducks and moorhens to see along the way. If you keep a keen eye out, there's a few regular kingfishers and the odd wagtail that'll drop by too!
Owen T — Google review
Really peaceful walk nice views near the river Also Dog friendly
Amber N — Google review
Really enjoyed the walk down the Beck. The information boards along the way are very good. Something different to do in Beverley. We weren't expecting to see a submarine on the canal.
Rob H — Google review
It is a lovely area to walk along the canal and experience nature. You can see the Beverley Minster view from the Bridge. Now, artists create paintings on the bridge legs to make this area more attractive 🌸🥳🍃
Usa J — Google review
Beverly Beck has been an important waterway since the Middle Ages. It starts outside the Foresters Arms and runs to the river Hull. It is a very attractive walk, there is a road that runs down the south side of it, up to the lock gates where it joins the river Hull. The walk along the River is very popular with dog walkers, and near the Foresters pub there is a very informative sign telling you all about the beck. There is a boat club near the lock Gates with a lot of privately owned boats tied up along the edge of the river. There is an abundance of Wildlife and if you're very lucky you may spot kingfishers near the lock Gates.

Historical landmark
North Bar in Beverley is a well-preserved 15th-century brick gate that was once part of the town's defensive walls. It now serves as a single-lane traffic passage controlled by lights, with pedestrian access through its arches. Originally used as a toll gate, it has historical significance dating back to the English Civil War. Adjacent to the bar is an impressive Tudor-fronted building adorned with local coats of arms.
Beverly bar dates back to the 1400s. This grade one listed structure is in excellent condition. Beverley is one of only a few places where the gates to the city still survive. Apart from defence it was originally used to collect tolls into the town. The room above the bar is accessed from North Bar House.
Andrew N — Google review
We lived in Beverley for some 2 years and it will always hold fond memories for us. A classic 'Market Town' that dates back to the 1400's - where the original town gates to the city still survive. The room above the bar is accessed from North Bar House.

East Riding Theatre, located in a former Victorian Baptist church, was transformed into a vibrant performing arts venue through extensive volunteer efforts. The theatre is committed to offering diverse and high-quality entertainment including theatre productions, music performances, and comedy shows.
An amazing army of volunteers keeps this lovely venue going, so that it is able to host all manner of events including music, poetry, plays and comedy shows. It’s tucked away from the main shopping area but easy to find near the Law Courts and Library. There is an on-site carpark at weekends and, I believe, weekday evenings and there is also a bar. It’s a venue used by various local festivals including Stage4Beverley and the Folk Festival so there’s also something interesting to experience. It also hosts one of the local WI groups. Most of the performances are in the Auditorium but the Cafe Bar is also used as a smaller, more intimate setting.

Came here for the Beverly big comedy night, great theatre. Just the right size for a comedy gig, good view from all seating positions. Stage is quite large. there is a nice little bar waiting area. Lovely well kept building. Love everything about it, only negative thing is it could do with air-con as it was absolutely roasting hot on the night (Maybe its not possible to add this due to it being grade II listed). Glad I brought a little electric fan. It was built as a Baptist chapel in 1910 and converted into a theatre in 2014. Highly recommend this venue. I look forward to attending again at another comedy evening.

Beverley Art Gallery, located within the East Riding Treasure House, is temporarily closed for renovations and set to reopen in August 2024. The gallery features temporary displays showcasing local and national exhibitions, along with a permanent collection of Victorian, Edwardian, and modern art. Notably, it celebrates the works of Beverley-born artists Fred and Mary Elwell. The gallery's architecture reflects an Edwardian style with alternating bands of brick and stone.
This is a lovely, accessible art gallery next to the little museum and cafe on the first floor of the recently reopened Treasure House. Lots of local art and there’s usually some sort of photographic display on the corridor leading to the gallery. The first room has a static display of art by artists such as Fred Ewell; there’s also a few sculptures, an electronic display board with info about the exhibition and also some children friendly areas. The far room hosts temporary exhibitions, currently work by Phil White. I highly recommend visiting!

Whites Restaurant, located just outside the famous North Bar, offers an intimate and stylish dining experience with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant has gained national recognition for its innovative and modern cooking, with the owner having trained under top chefs. Whites is known for its tasting menus that change daily, featuring dishes made from meat sourced from local specialist rare breed farms.
Absolutely delicious meal. We opted for the 4 course tasting menu and everything was superb. Couldn’t fault the food, ambience or service. Couldn’t understand why it wasn’t busier! Go and support an innovative chef who cooks great food at reasonable prices. A wonderful experience- thank you!

Foodie Heaven ! Amazing experience. We tried the current seasonal menu which was an 8 course taster experience. The menu only gave a slight hint of each course. The food creations we tasted were unbelievable. This is fine dining at its best. Not cheap but definitely worth it for our special occasion. The service was impeccable, very professional and just the right level for this high end restaurant without being stuffy. It's a shame that more people weren't eating there on a Saturday night. If you love food elevated to another level give Whites a try.

We visited Saturday night so had the 9 course taster menu. The food was simply amazing! So good waiting for each course not knowing what would be coming next. The chef recommend a wonderful white wine to accompany our meal followed by a wonderful shiraz to finish. The two waitresses who served us were very polite and informative and are an asset to this restaurant. We all had an amazing time. Will certainly be visiting again.

This is the place to go if you want a real dining experience that surprises you. I was a bit phased by ox cheek but tried it, loved it, finished every morsel. My wife can’t stand rhubarb but she again tried it, loved it and finished every morsel! If you enjoy trying something new this is great. If you’re a fussy eater would be best emailing prior to booking.

Garden
Nature & Parks
Nestled just off the bustling streets near North Bar and St. Mary’s Church, Coronation Garden is a hidden gem in Beverley that beautifully marries history with tranquility. Originally serving as a burial ground from 1829 to 1869, this serene space was transformed into a garden in 1955 to honor Queen Elizabeth II's coronation. The garden features stunning iron gates crafted locally in the 19th century, inviting visitors into its peaceful embrace.
The gardens are nice to sit in and have a drink / bite to eat, especially in the summer. Usually a nice quiet place. Also seems to be a good place to take dogs for a walk. There's a little graveyard at the back too which is worth a look. Lots of interesting plants and flowers to look at and plenty of birds visit the garden too!

The Coronation Garden is a lovely quiet space to sit and reflect, read a book or explore history. It’s in the Georgian area of Beverley, very close to North Bar. It is absolutely steeped in history! You’ll see gravestones of all ages and shapes around the outskirts of the garden; follow the path through to the back and you’ll find the most amazing old cemetery with many interesting inscriptions on the various monuments. The garden is very well cared for and new features have been added in recent years including a stone head and a tree planted by the vicar of nearby St Mary’s couch to commemorate victims of the Pandemic.
Anne S — Google review
I absolutely love walking around the gardens. A relaxing place to sit, listen to the waterfall, and listen to the birds sing. I find myself going every time I visit Beverley. I love it!
Lee L — Google review
Lovely peaceful gardens in Beverley town centre just next to the North Bar. Lots of benches to enjoy a break with a coffee from the numerous independent cafes nearby. This garden was extremely well used during lockdown but quietened down a bit now. Very well maintained with a sensory garden and plants to attract wildlife. Best part is the graveyard! Some really interesting headstones including some prominent local figures mainly mid to late 1800s.

A fantastic place to find a moment of quiet. Easy to overlook but if you are in North Bar Within then well worth a couple of minutes. The Platinum Jubilee beacon was lit here.
Rich M — Google review
The Georgian Quarter, within the North Bar can be busy and the traffic noisy. Tourists often visit St. Mary’s, walk down to the North Bar and buy something to eat and drink. The Coronation Garden with its imposing iron gates, made locally in the 19th Century, is often overlooked. It shouldn’t be. It is a tranquil gem, an oasis of calm that illustrates just what can be achieved when local councils, committees and societies work together to create something special. The garden is well maintained and deceptively larger that you perhaps expect. The original Georgian town houses were long-since demolished and the area then used as parish and private burial grounds before they became the garden commemorating the coronation of Elizabeth II. More recently, both in 2005 in and 2013, the garden was redeveloped and regenerated. In 2005 a wonderful sensory garden for all seasons was created particularly for the disable. In 2013, further work was completed to mark the 60th anniversary of the coronation. If you want to chill this garden is the place. It is perfect for relaxing a while and for enjoying something to eat or drink. There is abundant seating, many of the benches having been privately donated in remembrance of loved ones. The tombstones have not been removed from the site but have been placed around the walls. If you want a glimpse of Victorian Beverley – read and inspect them! I love the paintings that are scattered around the heart of Beverley and there are two in the garden to enjoy. The planting is a delight and the colours on a late October day wonderous. Don’t miss the far end which is, in effect a hidden garden

The Kings Head is a centrally located traditional English pub in Saturday Market, Beverley. It offers individually decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi and serves real ales and refined pub food. The establishment is known for its attentive and polite staff who ensure a pleasant experience for guests of all ages. Additionally, the pub hosts events such as DJs playing inside and outside, creating an enjoyable atmosphere for visitors.
Lucy told us that it was a new menu and we loved it! We spent a lovely afternoon eating, drinking, and relaxing. We had to wait a while for my starter, and as soon as the finished dish had been removed, my main course arrived. I'd have preferred a few more minutes to digest my starter. We'd love to come back and stay in one of the beautiful rooms.

Popped in on the off chance at 130 on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Got ourselves a table and quickly made our Sunday lunch order. It was not too busy. Got a pint and half a coke and the total bill was £45. Food came in good time. Five different veg (small portions but really nice) two and half decent slices of Turkey, roast potatoes, stuffing ball and a lovely Yorkshire pudding. I got some mint sauce. A few minutes in we were checked in on to ensure we were happy. Would definitely go again, thank you to all the staff who clearly work very hard.

This is a lovely friendly hotel and was a pleasure to stay there. The breakfasts were excellent and was well cooked and more than ample, the bar was well stocked and even had one of Jeremy Clarksons lagers on, and wasn't bad at all. Rooms were spotless and super comfy. Downside it's very noisy on a Saturday night to the points of being supplied with earplugs 🤗.

Called in here for a drink during a Saturday visit on a gloriously sunny day. We sat in the back courtyard which was pleasant and watched the world go by. We ordered drinks via a QR code on the table but they did seem to take ages to arrive unfortunately. When the did arrive they were nice and cold. I liked the small lager glass. We did check out the inside which seemed nice and well presented. Although we didn't eat anything here lots of people were eating and the food looked good.
Tracey B — Google review
An absolute beautiful pub, clean well maintained and nicely decorated. When we walked into this pub we expected a very high quality of food and service. I just got a feeling of this looks a high standards. It was a busy pub with lots of people chatting and the atmosphere was nice and friendly. We picked a table and sat down to look at the menu. I wanted fish and chips and my other half wanted southern fried chicken burger. So knowing what we wanted I went to the bar to order the food and some drinks. I was greeted by a friendly young lady who took My order and table number. I went back to the table and we chatted over a drink waiting for our food. After about 20 minutes the food came My fish looked over cooked and tasted dry, the mushy peas again looked over done. The chunky chips were good and the tartar sauce was really nice. As I moved the fish I could see French fries mixed in with the chips. This was obviously fries from a previously cooked order as the fries looked like they had been cooked multiple times and the fryer basket not emptied fully. My meal was a real let down. My partners meal was not much better. The onion rings looked awful and were not even warm, her fries again not even warm. The southern fried gravy looked like water and again was not warm let alone hot. The chicken burger was she said ok apart from the bbq sauce over the top of the bread bun. Whilst eating we did not at any point have a member of staff check up on us or our order which I was really surprised at it literally was a case of order eat then staff just collect plates. When a member of staff did ask “have you guys finished?” There were not was the meal ok? Did you enjoy your meal? Nothing!! I informed the member of staff that the meal was not acceptable and informed him of all the issues we had. His response was simply “l’m sorry to hear that I’ll pass it onto the chef” then walked away. This is a stunning and beautiful pub in the heart of a beautiful little town and could be an absolute treasure. Sadly from my experience here today I don’t think I would want to spend my money (£45.48 I believe I paid) here. Please who ever reads this review on walking into your pub I thought was going to be amazing. Sadly your staffs service and the food has let you down.

The Treasure House in Beverley is a multifaceted destination that combines a museum, art gallery, library, archives, tourist information office, gift shop and cafe all under one roof. Currently featuring the Brick Wonders exhibition showcasing incredible Lego recreations of global landmarks and the Toys Through Time exhibit offering a colorful display of historic toys and photographs from the East Riding collections.
Champney Treasure House (formerly Beverley Treasure House) reopened just a few days ago after a substantial redesign and upgrade. The Library is up and running, the Tourist Information Centre is back there and now the Customer Services and Registry Office are there too, not forgetting the Museum, Art Gallery and cafe. The outside area has been beautifully redesigned and planted; it’s going to be the perfect setting for wedding photos once everything is established. I didn’t notice the location of the Registry Office when inside but I’m assuming it was somewhere down the corridor opposite the main entrance as there was a corresponding exit into the gardens at the back of the building, including an easy access path for wheelchair users. Lots to see and do in the Treasure House including having a coffee and cake in the cafe (10% discount with Library card). Access the upper floor for the cafe , museum and art gallery via stairs at either end of the building or use the lift by the main entrance. Toilets are on the ground floor.
Anne S — Google review
Very disappointing after being closed for a good year for modern renovations. How much was the cost to the public purse?!? The local registry office near Tesco was closed down and shoved into the library end of what was the Reference Section. The grounds ruined with what looks unfinished for wedding parties. Trees were cut down. Criminal in my opinion. There was a lovely small tree with low branches where peiple sat for lunch... gone. The large computer room... gone. Now have a small pod area with a few computers. The ladies public toilet is down to one hand dryer. Ridiculous when queues form to dry hands. Over zealous security staff on toilet duty not liking it if one uses a hand dryer next door in the babies changing room. Also, why close on Sunday and Bank Holidays?!? The building needs to be excessable when people are home from work on a Sunday and kids are off from school. Libraries are open down South on a Sunday. Beverley tries but struggles to step forward and not be provincial. Still 'Little Britain'. It reminds me of the film Jaws with the scene about a senior resident worried about his white picket fence. When there is more to life. Surprised to find some older residents here have not visited our Capital... London or even stepped outside this large county. Beverley residents deserve so much better from those in authority of public spaces... up to speed with what's going on in the rest of the country and not be lagging behind by a generation.

Stumbled upon The Treasure House whilst looking around the very interesting town of Beverley, initially we were drawn to look at the Fabulous Minster and then we went into the coffee shop in the Treasure House which was very good and extremely reasonable, also looked around the art exhibition and various other bits and pieces in there. All in all we spent a very good day in Beverley it was very reasonable to park there for the day, which is always good to know.

Spanning 49 acres, this picturesque reserve boasts a rich history dating back to the Domesday Book of 1086. Visitors can explore its two expansive fields, which showcase remnants of Medieval ridge and furrow farming as they transition into traditional parkland.

A wonderfully quiet heritage orchard tucked behind a farmyard in the midst of the countryside. There are numerous trails through the surrounding woods and various picnic benches dotted around for a mid-amble lunch. Perfect for short nature walks, as there's a great variety of flora to enjoy. Plus, a decidedly dramatic view of Beverley Minster from the carpark.

A lovely area to walk, I gave 4 stars as the signpost to the main parking area was very unclear. That said, I thoroughly enjoyed my stroll (about an hour) with friends, finishing at the nearby Beverley Garden Centre for lunch and Loo's. Accessibility - fairly level grass and country paths. I would suggest wheelchair users download the site map and follow the path towards the Orchard. No toilets. Car Parking (free) - on grassed area, limited parking in a narrow lane at the 2nd entrance. Toilets - none Yorkshire Honey 🍯 have a dedicated (with warning signs) area for their hives and teach bee keeping.

Such a beautiful hidden walk with a variety of things to do and plenty to forage or even if you want to learn to forage. During summer and autumn you will find a choice of apple's, cherries, plums, hawthorn, pears and walnuts. There is also alot of mushrooms to look for but always be careful when checking. The walk it's self in the tree's has a few different paths but during autumn and winter the paths are very covered in parts.

Parkway Cinema Beverley is a modern cinema located in the bustling town center of Beverley. The venue, which opened in 2015, offers a clean and well-presented environment with friendly staff. It features comfortable seating, including designated spaces for wheelchairs within the rows. The cinema also has a bar and seating area where moviegoers can purchase an array of snacks and drinks.
Lovely cinema with friendly staff. Comfortable seats and clean.
Paul W — Google review
Comparing this to cinemas 'generally', it's a good one. Always clean and tidy. Toilets are always clean. The bar is well stocked although not a wide selection of drinks. The offers and standard prices of tickets for the wide range of events held here, are competitive. The staff are always very pleasant and polite, although, rarely enough of them to provide other than a 'good enough' service level. (Not their fault). That's a relatively bland review for us, but that's the expereince we had. It wasn't great, nowhere near bad ... but beige. If we had a choice to get a nice bottle of wine, some decent snacks and a movie at home, the customer experience of our visit here, wouldn't be enough to entice us out to it. And that's probably why it was, again, so very quiet. If the owners got together with external experts it could all change, or maybe what we thought was 'very quiet' is more than enough to enable their business to be considered successful in their view. For us, it's beige and we're better to make our own cinema expereince at home. A pity, but we believe this is an objective review.
Scarlet T — Google review
Went here to watch Speed as they were showing the classic film once again. Absolutely loved it, not been to this cinema previously. It’s on the upper floor but there is also a lift if required; parking we used one in town but the multi-storey is probably your best bet. The whole place was clean, tidy and well presented, the staff were pleasant and welcoming. There is a bar and seating area, as usual you can buy all the sweets, chocolates and drinks you can imagine…..you might have to take out a mortgage to afford them though! The cinema itself is well laid out with all the screens numbered along one corridor with toilets well signed along this corridor. Wi-Fi is available if required, we booked the premier seating which gave us more leg room; this was a smart move! Based on this experience I will certainly be back in future!
Peter78 — Google review
Nice local cinema, which is well-kept and comfortable. Also does good deals for seniors which include a good discount and a cuppa. Parking locally is also easy and reasonably priced. I am sure we’ll be back.
Arthur H — Google review
Generally love this cinema and go there regularly but please stop letting people enter 15 mins into the film! Just watched Downton Abbey and lots of people were still arriving 15 mins into film, disturbing everyone by putting their phone torches on and making full rows stand up to let them get to seats. First part of film was ruined for everyone else. If they can't arrive on time, sorry but entry should be refused!
Helen P — Google review
Senior Screen going up in price all the time. Coffee at Senior Screen needs to be stronger and hotter and the biscuits improved on as when it first started when all was good. It is going downhill! On the positive side, it's a lovely and comfortable place to go.
Juno — Google review
Opened in 2015 but still looks brand new. Situated in Beverley town centre which is buzzing Saturday night. Cinema is a stones throw from Beverley Minster and right next to East Riding College with a good selection of shops, eateries and a multi-storey car park nearby which costs only £2. We booked tickets online for extra £1.90 booking fee. Saw Asteroid City. If anyone would like to explain the movie to me, I would appreciate it. Through main double doors (entrance next to Tomahawk Steakhouse), ticket machines on ground floor but if you've already booked online, take the stairs or elevator to the cinema foyer (first floor). Large queuing area for snacks/drinks etc and seating area further along. Pleasant and helpful staff. Cinema only has 6 screens with the sixth that can be transformed into a stage for live theatre productions! Seats do not recline but very comfortable. Really enjoyed our visit.

Nestled in the heart of Beverley, the White Horse Inn, affectionately referred to as Nellie's by locals, is a charming pub that exudes history and warmth. With its inviting old-school interior and cozy patio, it’s an ideal spot for enjoying traditional British fare alongside a selection of well-priced ales from the renowned Sam Smith brewery.
What a pub! The ales provided are outstanding. The Bitter, Mild and Stout are a drinkers treat, prices to die for and a nostalgic step back in time. If you’re visiting Beverley and looking for a good pint of beer or cider, then make Nellie’s your first port of call. Outstanding!!

Nestled in the heart of Beverley, Chequers Micropub stands out as a delightful haven for beer enthusiasts. This charming establishment is one of Yorkshire's first micropubs and boasts an impressive selection of local and regional cask ales, along with six keg lines featuring everything from IPAs to Belgian fruit beers. Despite its cozy size, Chequers offers two levels and a lovely outdoor area perfect for sipping drinks under the sun during warmer months.
The Micro pub is absolutely brilliant, great atmosphere, great beers and very friendly people. The range of beers was simply stunning and on tip top form but everyone appeared to be drinking Imperial Stouts, brilliant, as the age range was from 20s to early 70s. This is a must go to pub and definitely gets the rare gold medal of excellence 🥉

She laughed in my face, basically laughed at my mum in my face, we were not confrontational to her at all and she continued being extremely rude. She made me feel really very uncomfortable. Historical landmark
Black Mill, also known as Far Mill or Baitson's Mill, is a renowned local landmark located on Beverley Westwood. This grade 2 listed structure was originally built in 1803 and was once used for milling before being damaged by fire in 1868. The mill has since been stripped of its working gear and served as a dwelling until 1934.
One of the iconic landmarks of the Beverley skyline! Makes for good photos, especially at sunset or on the rare occasion that the Aurora is visible. It's a good obvious meeting place if you're going for a walk on the Westwood. It's never very busy from my experience. It's also nice that there's a bench almost all the way around it, which you can sit and watch the sunset! The only thing that's missing is being able to go inside it, but I think this stopped being an option decades ago. Definitely worth going up to and having a look if you're in the area though.

Free parking, great area just walk the dog great views just out side Beverly Would recommend to stop for a walk.

Nice mill tower with fields to walk through, unfortunately dog walkers have dogs off lead running about and sh1tting without them picking it up. Apart from that just watch where you walk keep in short grass and pleasant walk

Visit to town in early January. Took time to walk from town up to here. Lovely, but a bit chilly, so wrap up warm.

Black Mill is an iconic of Westwood Pasture. You can see it there from far away. The surrounding area is quite suitable for picnics when it has nice weather, and sometimes you can see a bunch of cows there because there have a water tank for them next to the Black Mill
Usa J — Google review
The black mill on Beverley Westwood is a famous local landmark, that's a lot of people go to when walking on the Westwood. It is quite impressive when you get up close. Unfortunately there is no information board telling you about its age, or when it ceased operating. The remains of another windmill much reduced in height are by the golf course Clubhouse. It seems funny when you see how trying to run industry on wind power worked last time that were trying to go back to it.

Black Mill is a grade 2 listed structure, originally named Far Mill or Baitson's Mill after Gilbert Baiston rebuilt it in 1803, originally had white washed walls, it was damaged by fire in 1868 and eventually all the working gear was removed, it was used as a dwelling untill 1934, now a land mark on Westwood Pastures.

Great fun. Friendly staff. Food and drink is reasonably priced too. Highly recommended. Just remember to take a coat in winter if you are going to be sitting around waiting for kids; it gets cold!

Burton Bushes is a 26-acre natural woodland located on the western edge of Beverley Westwood pasture. It is a remnant of the ancient forests that once covered the area and holds special scientific interest. The woodland features old and new paths, making it popular for visitors of all ages, including dog walkers. It offers opportunities to observe wildflowers, fungi, birds, and other flora while providing a picturesque setting for walks and outdoor activities.
I’ve lived locally for 30+ years and visit the Westwood and Burton Bushes throughout the year. Burton Bushes is an ancient woodland on Beverley Westwood and is very popular with all ages. It’s cross-crossed with paths old and new and full of things to see and explore. Today we went up to look at the carpets of bluebells; in a few months we’ll be up there for the blackberries. It’s very popular with dog walkers so you’ll spot dogs foraging about and hear their owners even if you can’t see them. If you do decide to visit Burton Bushes please wear sensible shoes/boots/wellies. It is often (like today) very muddy, particularly in high traffic areas such as the kissing gates and the ground can be very uneven with roots, rabbit holes and briars. I wasn’t planning on writing this review when we visited so only have a few photos to add.

Went to see the traditional hunt gathering on boxing day. It's nice to see as there is No hunting and l would not go. The hunt had collection boxes for the air ambulance so raising money for a good cause. Thankyou to all involved.

Beverley's Memorial Garden is an oasis of calm in a very busy town. It is surprisingly large considering it is tucked down a Narrow Street behind Saint Mary's Church. The hands on highland experience was absolutely amazing! The owners were so kind and knowledgeable on the cows and the wildlife in the area which was so engaging throughout the experience. Feeding the cows and learning about them all was an incredible experience, the perfect day out for some fun. The calves were adorable and getting to feed them all was such a treat. And to top it all off the tea and cakes were delightful, the perfect ending to a lovely morning at Dumble Farm. I also loved the gift shop on site and purchased a few goodies from there before leaving. It was lovely to hear the plans they have for the future and I will be sure to return soon.
Summer S — Google review
I can't even express how incredible the cow cuddling and highland cow experience was for me and my daughter. I have no doubt I will go again and bring new people along. I loved hearing about the conservation project and the really clever pivot from dairy farming. Such an excellent idea and brilliantly executed. It is well thought-out and planned so there certainly wasn't a dull moment and the morning really flew by but I didn't feel rushed at all. Small groups sizes and attention to detail make it so that each person gets to have plenty of interaction and it feels as though they are sharing something they love with you rather than churning you through a chain of events with as many people as possible just for profit as so many other attractions do. The people who run the farm are enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable, so they are available throughout to give you helpful and interesting facts about the land, cows in general, as well as offering insight into the personalities and lives of their cows individually while also giving you space to enjoy the experience. You can tell that they have a deep love of and respect for their animals. So often animal experiences seem exploitative but this was the polar opposite of that. The cows aren't forced to do anything they don't enjoy, they are well cared for and have loads of space, and you get to meet each animal where they are comfortable: feeding the ones who enjoy being fed, grooming the ones who enjoy being groomed, cuddling the ones who enjoy being cuddled, and looking at the ones who don't particularly want to be bothered from a distance. They know each of their cows by name and have clearly gotten to know them well, which is pretty incredible when you see how many of them there are. I thought it was a bit pricey when I booked it but now, after the day I've had, I can tell you it was seriously well worth it. I got to do and learn so much and I would recommend it to anyone who has even a vague affinity for cows. In terms of practical advice, I don't drive and was concerned that I wouldn't be able to travel to do something like this in such a rural area, but I got to the farm with ease through conveniently timed public transport with just a bit of planning and an even smaller bit of walking. I stayed in Hull the night before and took the train from there to Arram in the morning and walked half a mile to the farm then did that in reverse in the afternoon. The area is idyllic and a (quick and easy) pleasure to walk through. Although there aren't pavements, the road to the farm from the train station isn't busy at all so it was no problem.

The Highland and cuddle cow superstar of the UK. What an amazing wholesome place thats moved with modern farming. Beautiful place. Everyone should give this a visit if you have a chance to support an up and coming business. I'd live to see this business grow to have their own restaurant and cow empire! Fantastic place 100% recommend. We loved that fact they did adult only tours.

THE BEST DAY EVER!!! We cannot thank Fi, Will & James enough. You were so welcoming and the whole experience was fantastic! We did the hands-on highland cow safari and I can’t wait to return! It really is hands-on and great to hear so much about the farm and all they are doing to preserve and support local wildlife, who knew how amazing highland cows could be in supporting that. This is a must visit!! Not only for the experiences also the camping opportunities. We will be coming back to camp!! Thank you all

We visited Dumble farm with high hopes for a fun afternoon and weren't disappointed. We fed the young cows treats and went out on the tractor ride visiting the cows in the fields and seeing what conservation work. The owners give an amazing experience and all round great afternoon including cake and drinks

Took my daughter for a birthday present & it didn't disappoint. Brilliant day. Very informative on how it changed from a dairy farm to a Highland cow farm. We did the tractor ride & will be going back for cow cuddling. We got to feed and brush the cow's. Good tour of the farm. Tea and cake to finish & they have a shop also. Thanks to all for making it a perfect day 😊 x Definitely recommend
