Glasfryn Parc, located just outside Pwllheli in North Wales, is a perfect destination for families and thrill-seekers. The park offers a wide range of activities for all ages, from wakeboarding on the Aqua Park's beautiful lakes to quad biking and clay pigeon shooting.
My 10 year old grandson and I visited for the first time on August 16th and he went go karting for 2 x 10 mins and absolutely loved it. The girls on reception were really kind and helpful on arrival and explained all the activities available. £15 for each track session with a break between to cool down as it was very sunny.Reece was so helpful and even swapped a slow kart for a faster one as soon as he noticed. We will definitely come again , it was good value and Blake was buzzing afterwards. Thank you to Reece and the whole team for a great morning out. Richard and Blake We have been back three times now for fishing and caught at least 6 big carp as well as smaller Rudd and Roach every time. Excellent fishing venue.
Richard M — Google review
The go were great but nothing really for non go karting members in our family. The playground swings are very poor and closed - suggestion would be to have an activity log frame type of are it would fit in with your theme? Also the crazy golf is tired and worn. Need update of new! Vending machine for coffee? Staff were lovely. Counter service for payment was excellent. Shop is dark. Many items over priced. People complaining about bowling lanes not working. If you didn’t know about the water park it isn’t well advertised neither are the Segways. More outdoor tables Another suggestion would be a photo area like a medals Dias. This is a hour out 5th visit in 8 years before and after Covid. We rent out a holiday home in the area and this is a compound review form many of our guests- verbally
Helen D — Google review
Went here on a school trip. The go kart track is short but fun, some challenging corners. However there is a huge difference in the karts performance so it makes fair racing impossible. The track could do with quite a bit of redevelopment as it looks quite run down. A bit of money spent could massively improve this place. The staff however were brilliant. The students had a great time at the aqua park so no complaints there. However, as the only activity centre of its kind in the area, and the only go kart track within about 30 miles it could be so much better if the owner invested in it.
Rob D — Google review
Amazing!!! We did the aqua park and Mark who runs that section was just amazing! Really loved our time here and he was so good with the kids. We had 5 kids taking part ranging from 9 to 14, they all had a great time! The 47 year old kid had more fun then the kids!!! The place is easy to find and will give you hours of fun. Really worth a visit. Mark, you were incredible and really made this experiance so much better. Thanks again.
Kayle T — Google review
Great karting site and staff were super friendly and didn't need to book in advance. Great place to visit on a cloudy day. Just a shame wasn't sunny enough to try the water sports too. Good to support this fun family friendly site.
Hester D — Google review
Visited today (Aug) and it wasn't busy, we didn't book online as rang in advance and told plenty of space. Arrived and went to reception, booked the activities and was told to go to the right, not very interested lady on reception and didn't advise on any time or instructions. Tried to go karting first, bored staff who gave the most basic instructions and that was that for 10 mins. Went to the inflatable, at this point I was hoping for a miracle and it not to look like a derelict park, nope.. still did. The kids enjoyed being on the inflatable and assault course, 2 staff but not sure they were actual lifeguards as full dressed in every day clothes and no sign of any life saving equipment. Finally onto the sup, I am hoping we don't get poorly from the water. My board capsized and the grime under it was gross. It needed cleaning. I got out early and went to shower.. think the dirty lake was cleaner. Couldn't wait to get back to our accommodation to shower. Would love to say it was a great place but it really does need some love and maybe few more interested staff. Great potential but just needs investment.... and cleaning
Nicola J — Google review
This place is fantastic! Definitely does not get the recognition it deserves, we spent 2 separate days here, trying go karting for adults and children (children get to drive their own go kart!!), archery, aqua park and bowling! The whole family throughly enjoyed themselves, it is fairly priced and all the staff are friendly! Even though we didn’t book online and turned up on the day both days they were able to fit us in very quickly with no hassle! Could do with some TLC, however we expect covid has had an impact on this amazing adventure place which is a shame! We could have spent the whole day here had there have been food served on-site ( that is the only down side). Will be returning in the future and recommending to others.
Josie S — Google review
has the potential to be an amazing activity centre staff are welcoming and helpful however no money is being invested into the park. wakeboarding is broken. half the aqua park is popped. it’s very overgrown and the play area is rotted and shut off.even though it says pre booking is required they will almost always have some sort of availability depending on the activity(even if you did try to prebook the website is useless so good luck) .even just a few hours of work could turn this into a hidden gem👍

Modern art gallery housed in a Gothic mansion with a vaulted wood-beamed roof, plus a shop and cafe.
Lovely gallery predominantly featuring local artists and crafts. All based in a beautiful house with a great history, and a cafe that is both an engineering and artistic wonder. Definitely worth a visit with stunning views over the bay on a clear day.
Philip R — Google review
We had a beautiful afternoon at this beautiful gallery. Lovely employees, art, stunning building, verdant grounds, interesting history, even majestic sequoia and Japanese red cedar outside to wonder and gasp at. The newly redone tea house was comfortable and we had a nice rest and snack. The wool blankets sold in the gift shop are wonderful quality as are the hand woven chair cushions made by a local artist. We have many happy memories from our visit here.
LAA — Google review
Lovely place to visit. Beautiful house and grounds. Nice cafe for a tea and cake. The art exhibition is elevated by its surroundings. Beautiful beach a short walk away but depending on how long you'll be its probably cheaper parking in the designated beach carpark.
AntiMat 7 — Google review
It’s a very nice gallery with some interesting exhibitions at the moment. They also have a good cafe with good coffees and surprising architecture. Friendly staff.
René S — Google review
A wonderful place to spend a good part of the day. There's an interesting gallery with some truly excellent works, plus a café/restaurant and trails to the viewpoint and beach. All in a beautiful location with views you'll surely never forget.
Lucca T — Google review
Wonderful art gallery and I would have given 5 stars but it was very disorganised today. Impossible to pay for parking via app as there is no adequate phone signal. The cafe is beautiful and has great food, but it was overcrowded and impossible to figure out the system of how to get a table. If it's full I suggest finding a member of staff and asking how to get a table via the complex waiting list system... The painting is the gallery are wonderful, varied and impressive, and with free entry it's a must see. Well worth paying the £5 parking to stay over 2 hours. In spite of a sign saying that the footpaths are open, the best path is not. Well worth leaving the car in the car park and walking down the road to the beautiful Llanbedrog beach.
David P — Google review
Beautiful place to visit. So well maintained and really not too busy. Cafe restaurant was extremely welcome serving lunches, cakes and drinks. Interesting selection of artwork displayed in a very grand setting. Amazing panoramic views from the woodland walk and outdoor theatre. Dogs are allowed here but not in the cafe and gallery and must be kept on a lead. A good amount of car park spaces and an additional NT carpark available at the entrance with road access down to the beach.

Garden
Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Plas yn Rhiw is a charming 16th-century manor house with Georgian enhancements, nestled in the serene Llyn Peninsula. Managed by the National Trust, this tranquil property was lovingly restored by three sisters in 1939. The lush gardens spanning over an acre boast box hedging, paths, and a magnificent magnolia tree. Throughout the seasons, the gardens showcase a stunning array of flora from daffodils and tulips in spring to magnolias in autumn.
Blue badge parking near the information/payment office. The main car park is opposite the entrance. Tearooms are small, but there are tables outside. There is also a wheelchair adapted table as well, so you can tuck in...it's the only circular table near the tearoom! Lovely staff that work there and the coffee was nice as well. We had a picnic with us packed away for later, but the food being served was being freshly made and plated up, and the portions looked plentiful! The garden walk was much bigger than it looked, benches set inside to just rest and enjoy the divine smells and views. Which we did on a lovely sunny day. There are a few walks to choose from. If you have mobility issues, I would recommend looking from the gardens as you can see where the steep parts are in some parts. We decided that we would just partake in the gardens and tearooms on this visit, but our visit was an enjoyable few hours. Dog friendly in some areas! Accessible toilets!
S S — Google review
Please note, this is a review of the tea room only, as we visited on Friday (when the house and gardens are closed). A fantastic setting, with a delightful tea room, great service, very good menu choices (and the home-made flapjack was lovely)!! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, very clean toilets. Car parking is on site for disabled, and across the road from the main house for everyone else, but within easy walking distance, views are fantastic, and the house and gardens look very well cared for (so a good reason to come back).
Rich C — Google review
Lovely little house and gardens. There was only the one room open at the moment because of urgent repair works to the property, but there are the intricately weaved garden paths to walk around right by the house, plus an orchard and picnic area. There are some meandering paths through the woods, past the toilets, if you want to walk further, which come out onto the coastal path with views overlooking the sea. You can see everything within an hour, including walks around the woods, but allow a couple of hours for a more leisurely-paced walk or if you are stopping for lunch.
Mark W — Google review
This is not a large site but still very much worth visiting and there is a tearoom too. With the house, there was one large sitting room available to visit but you can't view the rest of the property. It was interesting to see and the friendly guide provided more information about the history of the house and the family who lived here. The highlight of the site are the gardens, much of which were terraced with colourful and mature plants. There is an entry fee but free for National Trust members.
Elizabeth B — Google review
A beautiful place to visit and sit awhile. There is free parking for this National Trust property and admission to the gardens is £5, members going free. Access to the tea room is free, and this wonderful eatery serves a wide range of delicious cakes, scones, sandwiches and heartier meals. Service is friendly and the views from the outdoor seats are calming and beautiful. Well worth a visit.
Jeremy A — Google review
We went when the house was closed due to building work. Gardens are lovely and lovely views over the bay. The road to the house is very narrow at some points, and can only let one car through at a time. Due to this you might struggle in large vehicles.
Joanne P — Google review
Beautiful hidden treasure. Gardens are delightful. Tea room very nice. Outdoor seating excellent.
CAR W — Google review
Absolutely love Plas yn Rhiw, small in scale but big in character and beauty. Renovation work is currently underway in the house which means less rooms available to wander through and enjoy its interior but hopefully the work will be completed by autumn (fingers crossed). Its garden is a sheer joy to all the senses. The surrounding woodland and orchard is lovely to explore and enjoy. The views are spectacular (imho) and leave one with a feeling of peace and joy at being in such a beautiful landscape. The cafe is a favourite of mine and it is staffed by such lovely people who seem to really enjoy their work and always make the time for a chat about the menu etc. The coffee is great and the food always both looks and tastes amazing. Highly recommended

Pwllheli Traeth Marian-y-de Beach, also known as South Beach or Pwllheli Beach, is a stunning coastal destination in the unofficial capital of north Wales' Llyn Peninsula. This south-facing beach features a long stretch of shingles and pebbles running parallel to the promenade, offering ample space for leisurely strolls, sunbathing, and swimming in its calm waters.
Very nice sandy beach. Has free car park.

Nice beach, but quite pebbly .. it's kinder on the feet near the dunes though, with more sand. The water drops off deep quite quickly so best to take extra care with kids or weak swimmers .. The latest water quality is 'Excellent' which is better than Cricieth which in only 'Adequate' .. Plenty of paid for parking on the front or if you're prepared to walk a bit there are other places parking around .. Views are good but it can get a bit breezy .. Sunsets are also pretty as it's West Facing .. All in all, one of the best beaches around but please remember to take something for your feet against those pebbles at the shore .. 🦶😣⚠️👟🙂👍 Dave

Great beach, easy nearby parking (shame about the charge, but seems to be all the same in this area) Beach very clean with clear waters!! Look out for the jelly fish!!!

Look at THAT Beauty! This is an amazing beach with an amazing view. Its very quiet in the morning (at least when i was there), although a bit rocky its such a calm place to be just like any other beach. To get there its a 5min walk on the sand(from the car park) and it can be though😅 There's a pay&park but also just a few meters along the road a few spots weren't marked as one so we didn't pay and we stayed for the night aswell. Recommended 👍🏾

Llanbedrog Beach, located on the south coast of the picturesque Llyn Peninsula, gained accessibility in the 1890s with the construction of a tramway by Solomon Andrews. This charming beach boasts vast stretches of golden sand and is shielded from strong winds, making it ideal for families. The tranquil waters are perfect for swimming and offer a shallow and warm experience when the tide is in.
Wow this beach is stunning absolutely amazing day spent here The weather was amazing the coastline was beautiful ❤️ highly recommend this beach. Car park available reasonably priced free for disabled. The stairs are a little steep to gain access to the beach area for those with mobility issues but I can assure you it's worth the views and area.

Car park easily accessible but has quite a few potholes. Tired toilets opposite. Short walk down steps to lovely quiet (February) huge beach (tide out) . Gorgeous views across bay.

From a rainy day to a blue horizon with all the colors of nature. A large beach perfect for long walks for everyone, especially dogs. The beauty of nature around you will definitely make you stay longer, and you should definitely explore the surrounding trails. *UPDATE* A fantastic trail with stunning views of the beach, coast, and even the Snowdonia Mountains. From the Path to the Viewpoint, you'll be able to admire the beach, among other things

Nice beach on a sunny day. Good place for a paddle. Walk down might be issue for some but it is a gentle slope and not too far. Parking reasonable if you stating for a few hours.
AntiMat 7 — Google review
Nice little beach, it is a bit of a trek up and down the path to and from the beach, but it’s worth it once you manage to get past the clutter of the loud families stationed right at the entrance. If it is possible, I definitely recommend going for a walk along the beach past the huts where it is much quieter and a lot more enjoyable. There are certain areas where dogs must be kept on leads and other spaces where dogs are allowed to be let off their leads. This is usually past the beach huts.

Great beach! Decent little car park run by National Trust and if you’re a member you get parking free! There’s a singular free charger for your EV if you get there and need a top-up! The beach bar is the perfect place to grab ice cream. Didn’t try the food but it looked lovely

It's not well signposted but does have a handy carpark. You can park just up from the beach and walk downhill on to the beach. There are toilets just before you get to the beach. There's also a restaurant and bar at the end of the road. The beach is nice and clean with great views across to Snowdonia. There's a selection of colourful beach huts, not sure if they are available to rent. It's also quite quiet and a nice place to relax. Well worth a visit.

Porth Neigwl, also known as Hells Mouth beach, is a 4-mile stretch of sandy shoreline nestled between rugged headlands and grassy dunes. Renowned for its excellent surfing conditions, this remote and secluded beach attracts visitors from both Wales and England. The area offers limited parking and is best viewed from Mynydd Rhiw or the National Trust house Plas yn Rhiw.
Our visit was part of a long circular walk and we walked from the car park, turned left and carried right to the end of the beach and followed the coastal path, which gave us great views of the where we had just walked. The day we visited, there was sea fog which gradually reduced. We could see a section was popular with surfers and we came across lots of jellyfish on the beach.
Elizabeth B — Google review
Nice wide beach, with small car park and on street parking. Only a few minutes to walk from the carpark, but I expect the walk will be much longer on a hot day when the carpark is full and the approach road fills with cars. Great beach for dogs too. (Although there are the usual selfish owners who leave their dog pop on the sandy path so take care on the walk through!!) It is very stoney in parts so take beach shoes of some sort. Tide was well in when we were there, so don’t know if the stones are just near the dunes or all the way. Will definitely go back if the weather improves.

Hells Mouth Beach is a fantastic spot to visit. A reasonably sized car park that was not particularly busy (Friday afternoon at 2pm). Not far to walk from here to the main beach. No facilities, but well worth a stop.

A beautiful expanse of beach. Popular with surf/kite boarders, paddle boarders etc. Parking is free but the actual car park is small- no more than 10-12 cars. There is parking along the lane the car park is off though. Can get busy (For Wales). Beach is sandy when the tide is out and you can walk for ages and lose yourself in the bracing sea air. Amazing.
Jeremy A — Google review
Large open beach during low tide, great for dogs and really good surfing when the wind is right. Can walk full length and out the other side then back along the road for a full circular route.
Joshua S — Google review
Beautiful place, good for a surfing, a bit windy. Beach is a golden, sandy, but there are a lot of stones...

Beautiful beach. Large open space. Great for family’s. We built a nice little area to sit too.

Pwllheli Amusements Ltd is a delightful destination that promises hours of fun for visitors of all ages. With an impressive selection of arcade machines that are regularly updated, there's always something new to try. Families will particularly enjoy the charming Sooty and Sweep show machine, which has become a favorite among younger guests. The friendly staff enhance the experience with their welcoming demeanor and willingness to assist with any issues.
Played the 2p machine's for a bit, good fun and I won a couple if sweets. Son also liked it😂 had food in the cafe it was really lovely and great value. Staff were lovely. Thanks.

The arcade was very enjoyable, and we had a lot of fun on the ‘little people rides’. We met a lovely guy, I assume the owner and he welcomed us in open arms, even gave my mate a nickname of big guy. Can’t wait to be back next year :D
Jack C — Google review
I loved the fast and drift and the bumper cards. It was so fun. The only downfall is that horse riding fame that's didn't work out make sense. But still really fun. Then go to Arvonia fish and chips. Best fish and chips ever.
Allycia A — Google review
The outdoor rides were very enjoyable and reasonably priced, only one guy running them, hats of to him 🫡 The arcade prizes are outlandishly high ticket prices, the cheapest prize (a singular lolly) cost a minimum of £3 (with skill) to obtain enough tickets for, do not waste your money in the arcade, avoid at all costs
Milla J — Google review
Fantastic amusements. Always friendly people in there. Wide variety of machines which are frequently rotated and changed. They also have a Sooty and Sweep show machine which my daughter cannot get enough of. They have a café which is in another part of the building which serves great food. If it had a bar, I don't think I would ever leave!
Russ — Google review
We spent an enjoyable couple of hours at the amusements and fair here. Great range of arcade machines and very generous ticket winning too. Staff were all very friendly and patient with any machine issues or the children choosing their winning items.

Beach
Nature & Parks
Porth Iago beach is a stunningly clear and blue cove on the western shore of Llyn Peninsulas, near Aberdaron in North Wales. The area is popular with campers and fishers, who can take to its warm Mediterranean-blue waters for an invigorating swim or stake out a spot on the rocks for some catchable bass.
This place was spot on Pulled up to the farm, went through the farm and spoke to the owner, he said to park on the lower field and pay when we saw him next We are up camp right on the edge of the field next to the sea We bumped into the owner later that day and settled up We went back the next day for another night and couldn't fault it The toilets were nice and clean, the showers take £1 coins and we're also nice and clean Reviews seem to be annoyed about paying to park?? If you want to park on someone's then you've gotta pay, seems very fair to me Whenever we saw the owner he was chatting to people and giving them advice on where to go, seems like a good bunch of people down there 😎
Jake P — Google review
After a long journey through the windy country roads and fog we were glad to reach our destination for the night. We unfortunately went when the weather was bad but it was the perfect place to stop over and wake to an amazing view, lovely clean toilets and a great hot shower. The shower takes £1 coins but worth every penny. I read the previous comments about having to pay by cash to park up but the machine in the farm there must be new as I was able to pay by card. A little tricky to work out but got there in the end. It’s dog friendly but a working farm so need to be mindful to keep your pupper on a lead. The beach is accessible but is very steep. There’s benches for those who would prefer a view from the top. It’s worth the trip down if you can make it. I was a little disappointed that there were a couple of plastic bottles on the beach but can’t blame the farmer as it’s clearly folk like us that need to not litter the place. There was a handy snack truck that opened in the morning. Thanks for the lovely stay :)
Yvonne M — Google review
Lovely spot, beautiful cove. Decent facilities of toilets and coin-operated (hot) showers. Plenty of room in the fields for camping and motorhomes. Downside was down to me choosing terrible weather conditions, so wasn’t able to get benefits of the spot (very much exposed to the elements up here, though was tipped with parking closely to hedge to to stem the wind). An excellent spot if- like me- you’re tackling the coastal path walk (South takes you Aberdaron way/ North will see head towards Morfa Nefyn). The remote nature of the park means there isn’t any pubs or anything within walking distance in case that’s your bag.
Mike M — Google review
beautiful large campsite, with great clean facilities but may be queues as there was only two showers for the whole campsite. Super busy with families in summer. The beach below is lovely and the surrounding walks are amazing too!!
Ambi W — Google review
UNREAL. We only managed to stay one night due to the strong winds and rain but what a camp site Porth Iago is. Spotless facilities and a lovely snack hut on site with a huge range of food and drinks at extreamly affordable prices. Everyone so friendly. We are already planning our next proper visit. Views to die for, and the beach is amazing. HIGHLY reccomend 😊
Toni H — Google review
Postives to begin with - absolutely beautiful setting. Small private alcove beach and a lovely coastal walk. Small little shop which offers traditional takeaway options and ice creams. Handy if visiting for the day, or don't want to treck out for food. We visited during the holiday season when the kids were off school. To say it was rammed would be a unstatment. The beach was very busy and car park full. If staying, it does quieten down from 6-7pm. The fields are spacious, leaving plenty of space between you and your neighbours. This being said the only spot available for vans with a coastal view (the whole point in visiting) was in the farthest field. This was quiet a treck to the amenities. There is 2 showers (1 male, 1 female) and 4 toilets (2 male, 2 female). During peak season expect queues for both. Shower are £1 to use. In clean condition considering how busy there were. Outside sink to wash up pots, pans etc. Bins available, however overflowing when we visited. No signal or Internet - which we found quite nice. However, if you need access to either of these, be prepared. Road on the lead up to site and car park was very bumpy. Again given the traffic flow could be worse. £20 a night for non electric vechicle. Doggies extra.
Hannah B — Google review
Great little spot, a bit windy at night but we were on top of a cliff with stunning views and its own beach. Will definitely be back.
Kevin B — Google review
The best beach... just a shame the farmer charges £5 per car per visit. If you don't pay he issues you with a fine of £30!! ..... all that said.... £5 Is well and truly worth the visit....

Oriel Y Mor Tonnau is a spacious art shop and gallery that showcases the works of numerous local artists. The artwork primarily revolves around coastal themes, adding a touch of the marine ambiance. Despite its seemingly small shop front, the gallery extends quite far back, allowing for an extensive display of not only paintings but also various other artistic media. Alongside the impressive collection, visitors can enjoy a tranquil café within pleasant surroundings.
A lovely galeri with a big selection of paintings and gifts based on the sea.

Large art shop and gallery. Lots of local artists work and coastal themed artwork. Looks quite a small shop front but goes back a fair way. Not just paintings but other media as well but mostly with the marine feel

Beach
Traeth Penllech is a hidden gem located on the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula in Wales. It's a secluded and unspoiled beach that offers stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. Access to the beach is through country lanes near the village of Llangwnnadl, and visitors can enjoy exploring rocks, hiding spots, and walking along the shore. The beach is a bit out of the way with no facilities nearby, but it's worth the visit for its natural beauty.
Absolutely beautiful beach. So clean. Great fun when the tide has gone out with all the rock pools. Our favourite place to visit.
Danielle B — Google review
Beautiful beach and a lovely walk down from the car park. Plant of wildlife and not many people so suited us perfectly. The waterfall just up from the bridge was teaming with wildlife and was a lovely hidden gem.

Stunning beach. Free car park. A walk across some sheep fields to get to it. Waterfall, rock pools, great sand. Cafe a bit of a walk along and up to the south west.

An oasis of peace, beauty, wild nature, and everything we need in life on a trip... at least in my opinion... Anyway, an absolutely fantastic place to escape!
Lucca T — Google review
Visited here mid week, end of June and only about 5 cars on a spacious free car park (see pic). An absolute must to visit if you are in the area. Walk to beach approx 5 mins running parallel to the river, sheep were spotted who were quietly grazing on the walk through the farmers field where you will then reach an uneven path leading onto the beach. I would recommend you wear the appropriate footwear for this descend. I took my flip flops and changed once I had got on to the beach, it is truly a lovely beach & worth a visit
Sharon G — Google review
One of the best beaches I've ever visited. So beautiful and free parking. Watched quite a few sunsets from here. So many different rock formations along the beach. Well worth exploring.
Lance C — Google review
First time on this beach today. Beautiful spot for a vist and walk along the beach. Kids loved it as there are so many places to explore, rocks to climb and places to hide! Access to the beach we used was along a right of way footpath across two fields. It did look like there were other ways to get down which I no doubt we will explore in the future. This beach is a little out of the way. There are no facilities we saw and I would expect at high tide a lot of the beach would be covered. Still well worth a trip.
Mark D — Google review
Gorgeous beach sandy beach with beautiful blue sea. You walk across two sheep fields then down a slope to get to it. Dogs are allowed all year long. We tried to go one day around mid day and the free car park was full to the brim including an ice cream van taking up some spaces so gets full very quickly. We then tried again one evening when everyone was leaving.
